Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date is follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at Advocateslaw dot com. Erica is on the
phone today for a first date follow up and she's
getting ghosted by a guy named Nathan. So in a
few minutes we'll call him and see if it tells
why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date.
But first, Erica, how long has it been since your date?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Two weeks?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Two weeks? Okay?

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Was the last time you talked to him on the
date or did you guys have any ear interaction after that?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Nothing? I tried texting him, he didn't answering back.

Speaker 5 (00:31):
So I didn't want to seem desperate, And then the
next day I DMed him on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Nothing, So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Okay, it is said, I know being ghosted is the
worst that was your yea?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Was the date good though?

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Yeah? He had like this quiet confidence and like easy
half smile.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
And like I forgot my name for a second, and.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Uh he like packed a picnic like a Michelin star chefs,
like with the cloth, napkins, sparkling lemonade, homemade.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Peach hand pies.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I was like, what you made this? I love a
guy who can cook. And I was excited and he
was excited. He offered to skip rocks and we ended
up skipping rocks and he was like, listen, when you
get it to finally glide, you're going to feel like

(01:30):
a superhero. And it was like Lakeside Park at Golden Hour.
You know, we had the blanket, it got a little chili,
and then he had this playlist, a little speaker and
snacks and he just had everything planned out. It was
just so nice to just experience the state with him

(01:50):
and talk and you know, he.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
When he was skipping, he was giving me the technique.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Of the you know, rock throwing. And uh, the only
thing that I think maybe is the reason he's ghosting
is like I shared this story about about.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
My dad and like I was copying his stamp to
skip these.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Rocks, and I kept on splashing, and every time I
would splash, I would say strike, you know, and uh,
okay has a problem. I don't know, like, and I
was like, my dad, you know, forced me to play
softball growing up, and I sucked and every time I missed,
he would have the whole team and he would he

(02:34):
would yell strike and so off to choose to saying that,
and uh, I don't know if I shared too much
and I sounded like a loser and it was like
too much too.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Soon, But we laughed a lot.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
You know, were you overly emotional or something and telling
that story like.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
No, no, I just said as a matter of fact,
but he was just listening. And we moved on.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
But like if I like going back and trying to
like find why he would be ghosting me, I'm like, well,
I did share that. Maybe that seemed like, uh, like
I was a loser or something.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Much. Yeah, it happens.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
But after that we started talking about his sister and
all that stuff.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
It was really fun and he offered me a hoodie
when it was cold, and the conversation after that was easy,
and you know, there were sparks everywhere. And so I'm
just like confused and heartbroken because I thought giving the
rocks was fun and I'm not sure if he did
or not.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
It's like this always thrown me though, because he puts
so much effort into it and then you're just going
to disappear.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Yeah, yeah, like we were perfectly instinct. Yeah, I don't know, Okay,
it felt like the vibes were nice, so I'm not sure.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
We'll see if we can figure it out for you.
We'll play a song and then come back and then
call him and see if I tell us why he's
ghosting you and maybe get you a second date. Okay, okay,
all right, we'll get your first day follow up next.
Right in the middle of your first day follow up,
and Erica is on the phone today and she's getting
ghosted by a guy named Nathan. So we're about to
call him and then see if he'll tell us why

(04:15):
he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date.
But first, Erica, why don't you break down your date
again for us real quick?

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Oh? Yeah, we went on a picnic and he made
me a homemade peachant pies and everything was amazing, and
he taught me how to skip rocks, and I shared
a personal story about my dad.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That we have ruined it.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
And then it got cozy and we were back in
the vibe and I'm not sure if I shared too much,
but I definitely had fun that it was really sweet
to be with him and talk with him.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Okay, well, are you ready for us to call him
and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you?

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yes? Please?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Okay, Hello, Hi, I speak to Nathan please. Yeah, Hey, Nathan,
how are you. This is a radio show. It's called
The Jewel Show.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Hi Nathan, I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria and my name
is Jeubel. What's up? Have you ever heard the show before?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I just don't know why he might.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Be calling me.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Well, have you gone on any dates recently? I?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, cool.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
We're calling because this is a first day follow up.
You know, the segment where you go out on day
with someone and you and up ghosting them. That person
can email us to get you on the phone and
ask why you're ghosting them.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
And we got an email about you.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Okay, wow, all right. I was not expecting this at all.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Are you Who are you ghosting? Nathan?

Speaker 6 (05:51):
I mean, who am I not ghosting?

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Wo?

Speaker 6 (05:55):
I assume it Eric?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yes, it is Erica. She emailed us. We talked to
her about your date.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Sounded nice, sounded great actually, and she told us that
you haven't talked to her in two weeks. So would
you mind telling us why are you Ghostinger?

Speaker 6 (06:11):
M m? She can't kiss my bottom lip is still
blue from all of the sucking and the slobber Wow. Yeah,
just a mood killer. The day was pretty romantic before
that too.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
She bruised your bottom lip?

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Yeah, yeah, it was really something else.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
She sucked that hard because that would be the only way,
right that you can does your lip change color if
that happens?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, wow, yeah it was.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
It looked like, you know, like somebody who had been
in the pool for too long.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Oh really, clearly, I haven't had my lips sucked that
hard before.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
I hadn't either until I went to the doctor to
figure out what was going on. Well, and yeah, they
were like, you know, there's bruising, but you don't.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Think that you could have just like talked to her
about it, been like, maybe be more gentle next time.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
No, it seemed like that was like her style, like
she was. She was really into it, and so I
just did. It just totally turned me off. I've kissed
bad kissers before, but I've never like kissed a vacuum cleaner.
It sucked, but I guess that's what I would say.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Or is that awesome?

Speaker 4 (07:29):
You know she lef to do that much, she couldn't
get enough.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I don't want to be I don't want to be
hurt by a person getting two into me. I think
there's a there's a happy medium for that.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Okay, all right, well, thank you for telling us.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'll also let you know that Erica is actually on
the phone and has been listening and wants to talk
to you.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
Oh wait, she's here. Yep, yeah, hey Erica.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah yeah. The kiss, you were making noises like you're
enjoying it like a cat.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
A cat.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
No, I was not purring.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
I was wincing. You were sucking my lip.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
Off my face and just like drowning it in saliva.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
It was passionate. It was like getting caught.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
In a sprinkler. It was just it was so much moisture.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
My ex taught me how to kiss like that, which
makes it worse.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
Why would anyone pass that on. It's not a family recipe.
Just like let that.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
You want wincing in pain.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
You were like, oh, like purring, I was drowning.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
Does that sound like somebody purring or sound like somebody drowning?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
No, you are drowning. I guess I'm memorable. What is
it really?

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Like?

Speaker 2 (08:49):
What is it really? That's it? That's what it is.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
I mean, It's not just my lip. I mean like
my shirt was soap, like you have to wear a
bib if you want to make out with her?

Speaker 2 (08:58):
What's come on?

Speaker 5 (09:00):
Like you we were skipping rocks on the water. You
got splashed by the rocks and the water, and it
can't be the kick? Is there anything else?

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Anything else? Do you think that the rocks skipping on
the water splashed up and only covered my mouth, my
chin and my shirt?

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
Let me do you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Water and saliva? It was like sticky.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
It was like.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
Glimer had just gone like right through me.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
People like spitty kisses. Fish fish like spitty kisses.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
People don't wind them.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Well, I just thought that everybody liked that.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
I'm telling you that's not true. So you can't say
that anymore. You can't say I mean, I'm taking off
my scuba mask so that I can say is so
they can let you know that that's not true.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Okay, Well, maybe you can teach me how to do
a dryk is.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Hey, Nathan, would you like to go out with Erica again?

Speaker 6 (10:00):
That sounds worse than the way I kiss.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
No, I'm good, No, thank you.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
You could teach her how to kiss exactly where you
liked it. Yeah, she's willing to learn how to kiss
Nathan style.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
I can't.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
My doctor told me I can't kiss anyone for like
three more weeks.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Really that sounds doctor have a crush on you.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Okay, well maybe he didn't say that exactly, but I
don't want to kiss anybody for like three weeks. It's
like even sipping home and it was straw, now is painful?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Wow, you sucked on his lips that hard?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Erica, Well, I mean I was. I thought it was passionate.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I mean, I get where you're coming from, Erica. Maybe
next time you just got to like gauge, like do
you want to kiss? From like a scale one to ten?
How Bruce, do you want.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
To be you?

Speaker 5 (10:49):
I can't believe that. I kind of want to see it.
Please give me another chance.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Please.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
I gave you another chance when I was like pulling
away and you just kept coming.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I tried.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I can't, Nathan, think about it.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Really, you said yourself, she's a vacuum cleaner and now
she's begging.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Okay, those are good reasons to enday with somebody here.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
