Avery thought her bike path date with Rider was the start of something special—despite a few wipeouts and one epic squirrel-induced meltdown. But when Rider ghosted her, she turned to us for answers. Turns out, it wasn’t the squirrel that scared him off—it was a follow-up photo featuring unicorn underwear, smoothie vibes, and “snuggle headquarters” energy. Was Avery too whimsical or was Rider just allergic to fun? This First Date Follow-Up is one for the glitter dimension.

First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at advocatesla dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Avery is on the phone today for our first Date
follow up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Writers.
So in a few minutes we'll call him and see
if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe
get her another date. But first, Avery, how long has
it been since you heard from Rider?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, so it's been about Oh gosh, it's it's been
about two weeks since I've heard from him. We went
on this really lovely date where we went biking, like
actual biking, and we went to the park and on
the trail and I was trying to play it cool.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I was having a good time, but I got to
be honest. You know, I haven't ridden a bike an
eighth grade.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Pe, so I definitely fell aw.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
W Are you okay?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Oh yeah, I'm good. It may have even been three.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Times, but uh god, the writer was so sweet. He
was a total gentleman. He helped me up and he.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Laughed with me. He laughed with me, not at me,
and so I thought he was super charming and that
it was going well. We stopped for smoothies afterwards, we
sat by the lake. We talked for like over an hour.
It was so sweet. It was It's just.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
One of those like unexpected connection moments. And he was
so chill, like writer is annoyingly attractive and confident, not
hockey at the same time. And when I spoke, he
just he listened. I like, he actually listened to me

(01:49):
talk about everything, including my my really weird little pottery
side hustle that I have.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
I love how excited we get when somebody listened as
nice and so.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
Do you know that, Like you know, we hear that
a lot on these first date follow ups, and I mean,
I get it, but it's just it's the simple things
really that get us hooked.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I know, I agree, and he he just made me
feel really cool and safe and like I wasn't.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Being judged even.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
When I crashed into that side.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Oh no, I haven't had that kind of.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Connection in a very long time. So it felt been
spontaneous and easy.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
And like not forced. And I'm not trying to plan
a wedding or anything or rush anything, but I just
want to know what happened.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Yeah, do you know what could have happened?

Speaker 6 (02:47):
I mean, obviously it wasn't your falling because he stick
stuck around for a while after that.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
We don't know, I've heard that, but would be terrible.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Did anything else happen?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, guys, I don't know, but I the one thing
I can think of is that there was this one
moment where I panicked when a squirrel ran.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Across the path. And I don't I don't.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Mean like a little panic, I full blown, free to
the f out. It was not my best moment, but
I tried.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
To play it off, and so I just screamed.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
At the squirrel and was like, not today, demon. But
he laughed.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
He almost like he laughed.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
He seemed like he wasn't weirded out, you know, almost
seemed like he was taking.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
The joke with me. And you know.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
He didn't seem like, oh my gosh, this is a
full grown adult woman having a meltdown.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Over a squirrel on the bike path, so like it.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Was a real meltdown, just like, ah, yeah, I was
not expecting that squirrel.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Okay, So you think maybe that's what might be the
reason that you are getting ghosted, is just the reaction
to the little demon squirrel.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I that's gotta be it, because nothing else happened. Everything
else went so beautifully. I can't think of anything else
that would have thrown it all.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
Well, Okay, off the bike. Also, we'll see if that
is the reason.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Well, play a song, come back, and then call him
and see if I tell us why he's ghosting you,
and maybe get you another date if you still want one. Okay, okay, person,
All right, we'll get your first day follow.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Up, next first date follow up powered by the Advocates
Injury Attorneys online at advocateslaw dot com.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
If you're just joining us for today's first date follow up.
Avery is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by
a dude nam Writer. So we're about to call him
and see if he will tell us why he's ghosting
her and maybe get her a second date if she
still wants one. But first, Avery, remind us about your
date real quick before we call him.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
So, about two weeks ago, I had the most wonderful
date with a guy named Writer. We went biking on
a bike trail and it was so much that's fine,
but it was my first time biking in many, many years,
so I did fall a few times, but he helped
me back up and other than that we got smoothied

(05:11):
and we had a really great time with a lot
of great talking, and I have not heard from him since.
The only thing that I can think of that might
have scared him off is when we were biking, a
silly little squirrel ran out in front of me, and
I freaked out because I don't like rodents.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
But that's all I can think of.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I texted him the next day.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I thanked him for a.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Great date, and I sent him a picture of me
smiling with a smoothie few days later to be like,
oh ho, look we did smoothies. But I have gotten
nothing back from him, so I'd love to see what
he says.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
All right, are you ready for us to call on?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Okay, here we go. Hello, Hi, man, I speak to
writer please. Yeah, this is em Hey writer, how are you?

Speaker 7 (06:11):
This is the Jubil Show. It's a radio show.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Hi writer, I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria.

Speaker 8 (06:16):
Oh hello, what's up?

Speaker 7 (06:19):
How are you have your end? My name is Jewbel.
By the way, have you ever listened to the Jubil Show.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
I think I have heard the show before.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, okay, well we're calling you today because one of
our listeners actually emailed us about you.

Speaker 8 (06:34):
Oh wait, is this about Avery?

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Oh you knew right away?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, well, we do a segment called the First Aid
follow up on our show.

Speaker 7 (06:43):
Maybe you already knew that.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I guess where if you go somebody and they don't
know why, they can email us to get you on
the phone and ask. So, yes, it is about Avery.
Oh do you have a second to tell us why
you're a ghostinger?

Speaker 8 (06:55):
Yeah? I mean I figured this might come up eventually.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Oh really what happened?

Speaker 8 (07:02):
I mean, she's beautiful, like drop dead gorgeous, but she
sent me this photo and it was her and like
unicorn underwear, holding a smoothie and doing this weak face.
I just don't I don't know it was. It was
really bizarre. I mean I opened it during lunch at
work and I almost choked on my tortilla chips.

Speaker 7 (07:24):
So you didn't like it?

Speaker 5 (07:27):
You really painted the picture rider.

Speaker 8 (07:30):
It was like she was trying to be It was
like a six year old trying to be sexy. That's
what it was. It was creepy, Yeah, a little bit
like to to.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I don't know, it's not of you, dude, say that
with getting a picture like that, never actually was it was.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
It the unicorns that made it that way or was
it the whole thing?

Speaker 8 (07:50):
It was the whole thing, but yeah, the unicorns really
pushed it over the edge.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Okay, all right, so that's the reason your ghostinger is.
She creeps you out with trying to send you a
xy picture.

Speaker 8 (08:01):
Yeah, and there was some other stuff too. It's like,
so she calls her bed the snuggle Headquarters.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
You don't like that. That's kind of cute.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
It's like elementary's cool. I mean she was also like
sniffy sipping her smoothie and being like hmmm, I mean sippy.
I love it, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Okay, Yeah, okay, writer, thank you for being honest with
us and tell us why you're ghostinger. Now, I'll let
you know that she's actually on the phone listing and
wants to talk to you maybe and baby talking. I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Wait, so you didn't like the unicorns for real?

Speaker 8 (08:43):
Like those are sexy? Hey?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Avery, Hi, Oh my god, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
I didn't realize that being playful is like a deal
breaker now.

Speaker 8 (08:55):
I mean, it's not that you're being playful, it's just
like I don't know, Oh, I barely knew you, and
all of a sudden, I'm looking at you and like
Lisa frank Landerie holding it Smoothie. I mean he kind
of treated it like it was a mic drop moment
or something. I don't know, it was weird.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
I was dropping a mic, a mic of joy and.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I love and body positivity, and I mean, come on,
that could have been yours.

Speaker 8 (09:23):
I mean, look, you are totally a vibe and you're
very beautiful. I just don't think I'm like your vibe.
You know, I live in the real world. You seem
to live in like a glitter dimension where like squirrels
call full like these meltdowns and smoothies have feelings. I
don't know, it's weird.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Okay, well I should have mentioned and I have a
spear of rodents and squirrels are basically rodents, because I
just I know I was a little bit dramatic, but
it freaked me out. Okay, And I don't know what
you're talking about. Smoothie is definitely a feeling.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
What does that mean?

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Well, you clearly don't have feelings or have any understanding
of fun in life.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
I didn't realize you were this serious. It's such a bummer.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
What does that mean.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Oh well, he said earlier that the squirrel calls meltdowns,
calls meltdowns, and foodies don't have feelings, and I would.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Just saying whatever they do.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
I don't know, it's it's a little much for me.
It just feels like I'm dealing with like elementary school.
I don't know whoa writer?

Speaker 4 (10:29):
What would you like for a woman to send to you?
You know, just a perfect portrait in business casual, like
fully covered.

Speaker 8 (10:38):
I don't know, maybe like regular lingerie without like unicorns
and glitter and stuff. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Okay, Well, I I guess I'll just find somebody who
doesn't have emotional panic when they see sparkles.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
What, well, writer, would you like another day with Avery?
Will pay for it?

Speaker 8 (10:56):
No? No, I think I'm good. She's she's one of
a kind, but I think we of on different planets.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Well, that's totally fine.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
You can have fun with a woman who likes to
role play like they're in business meetings or church or
court or something boring like you.

Speaker 8 (11:13):
Wow, look you can tell the smoothie. I said.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Sorry, Oh my gosh, Well you're the one who's gonna
be sorry when you're bored and you're wishing for unicorns,
or you're.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Wishing for something fun and sparkly because your.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Next date is with a girl that's totally Baige
