This week, Azzi brings her UConn teammate Serah Williams into the FAFO universe — and it doesn’t take long for her to feel right at home. Alongside Ashanti, the trio get into everything from Serah’s move from Wisconsin to Storrs, to her viral LSU visit, and how she ended up with the nickname “Big Canada” (which, apparently, is still up for debate).

Serah talks about growing up in church, leaning on her faith, and adjusting to UConn’s intense basketball culture. She opens up about her Nigerian roots, her love of sneakers and Lululemon fits, and why she refuses to eat fruit that isn’t consistently sweet. Things take a turn when the group tackles a Midwest vs. East Coast showdown, reacts to fan questions, and hits their “What the FUDD” of the week — including Azzi’s confusion over “snotty” being a compliment.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
We have a dope episode and things are super califragilistic
spialidocious because we're joined by your teammate, Sarah. Sarah William Yes.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hello, first time on the podcast. Oh ever, this is
your first podcast ever? I think so, Oh my gosh,
I am so honored. Yeah, azy, just you know, I
had to let her have the first one. No one
else listen.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Asy's god it right now get too good to me,
too good to me. First we got Ga, Now we
got Sarah. It's good out here. I saw recently that
your team went to event. Everybody was in pink. Tell
me all about that.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yes, So this past week, Paula's Choice through a dinner
for us and it was the team, It was some staff,
some other people, but the theme. They asked like what
I wanted for the dinner, and I said pink. I
said I want. I want to be chill. I want
to be pink. I don't have a good time. So
they got Polochoice got us matching pink sweatsuits. There was
a little bracelet making station. There was some cute little mocktails.

(01:16):
Is that a bowling alley?

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Did you bowl? All? No? I didn't. We didn't bowl,
not even like once. I'm not a big bowler, I
mean me neither, but I still did it once. She
was there for the vibes. I was there for the vibes,
for the everything else, everything that everything for you, but
for the product, the bracelet. I left with some things

(01:41):
disposable camera, I did. We gotta take some pictures on that, yes,
but yeah, it was It was a great time. It's
a great time. Yeah, it sounds like fun.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You know. We have a saying on this podcast, if
it's for free, it's for me. Okay, that's that's the
trust I'm leaving with.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Some We got these cute little bags that they like
stitched for us with our names on it. And Sarah's
bag was packed with things that she was bringing home.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Oh yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
So Sarah, I'm so glad you're joining us. I want
to know a little bit more about you. So I
know that you're born and raised in Brooklyn and then
you moved.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Tell us all about your journey. Yeah, so I was
born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to
Toronto in about twenty eighteen. I finished my middle school
years there and then all of high school there and
then went to Wisconsin and now I'm in the beautiful
state of Connecticut. Connecticut. The campus is more compact, if
that makes sense. So like, yeah, I don't know, you

(02:39):
just noticed different, you know, just different things. And obously
our facilities here, like we don't have to share facilities
with different sports. Nice, it's nice. Like upstairs we got
like chefs who cook whatever for us. And yeah, it's
just it's different, but it's good. I love it. Wait,
I have a question. Did you ever go swimming in
that lake at Wisconsin? I don't know how to swim.

(03:01):
Oh you don't swim, No, not at all. Sarah, tell
us about your background, Like where's your family from.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
My family is Nigerian? Okay, what's to say? What is
say Nija? Little carry last? Come on, carry last? There
we go. Yes, my mom is Yoroba family, full blood,
full blown Yoroba.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Fun fact, I'm like sixty percent Nigerian Ebo and I
found out from twenty three and me really, so I'm
jacking it now.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Like, that's it. You can't tell me you should.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I gotta get a new name. Somebody do like a
naming ceremony for me.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Azy You you did twenty three and me before. No,
what's that? It's basically where you send like your DNA guys.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, I sent my spit and it basically tells you,
like where your background's from. And so my family is
mostly like Jamaican American. And then I found out I'm
sixty percent Nigeria, so I really have to tap in.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, that's crazy because one of my friends did that too,
and she was like her family's Guyanese and Jamaican. Nice,
she's like twenty percent Nigeriam, come on, we everywhere everywhere
You're next crazy probably Niger Maybe I am. We will
get your a new name.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
So did a little research and got to talk to
some of your your friends, brother I Emanuel and Uncle Olu.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Uncle Olu is not either one of us. Real uncle.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
You grew up in the church and from there, can
you just tell us what that was like and what
how your faith plays.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
A role in your life? Now? Oh yeah, Like again,
I grew up in the church, and ever since I
was young, I was just always just drawn to like God,
just interested in like amazing wonders that you know they
teach in the church that you're reading the Bible, and
obviously I've been through a lot of changes in my
life so far and just having the faith of you know,

(05:08):
being able to get through certain challenges and I don't
think it'll take a lot to break me, just because
I know, like I have the strength of the Lord
and He's brought me this far and there's just there's
more to go. Yeah, I love that. You gotta come on.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Sing it to that, my girl, now.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
You come on. I know you notice, I do know it,
but I can't sing it. You guys got it. You're
also like faith based? What does that look like for you?

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I am mine is more recent, but I think a
huge reason of that is due to my teammates and
seeing just the piece that they had about them and
how they were able to handle certain situations. Injuries, things
are in the season, family stuff, but just this like
I don't even know how to describe it, just like
this like peacefulness, this certain way that they would carry

(06:04):
themselves during it, and it always amazed me.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
So I was like, you know what, like I want
to experience that too, Like they always talk about God
and her faith and I never really understood it. So
last year I really like took that step in inviting
Jesus and got into my life, and I've noticed such
a huge difference. So I'm really excited to have more
teammates that I can then talk to you about this,
because I mean talking to other people that get it,
like that's how you grow your faith. So I'm in Sarah,

(06:28):
I'm excited to bond over this with her later. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
No, I love that I actually share the same faith
as you guys. And I discovered Jesus for myself when
I was a sophomore in college. So it's really nice
when you're set up in the situation that you're in
because you have like a tight knit community at Yukon,
and being able to take that journey with your teammates,

(06:52):
be able to you know, go to church or do
Bible study and have that like you know, like minded
people all together is really nice and unique experience because
then once you graduate, it's like, Okay, now I got
to find my community outside of this. I think that's
super dope and I love that through the ups and downs,
whether it be injuries or during the season or just life.

(07:13):
You're able to have something that's never changing and consistent
and constant, and yeah, it just gets you through those
moments that might be.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
A little bit tougher. So that's dope.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
I have a funny story talking about back to brother
E and uncle oh Lou. So I talked with him
and he told me back in the day, you know,
he's known you since you're about five or six, and
he used to say that you always used to have
a runny nose. Oh my gosh, I still need I
don't know what it is, like I'm trying to hide

(07:44):
my sniffles, but ever since I was young, like my
nose always runs like January through December, like always run.
And I don't know if it's like something wrong with
me or if I just need to take so many
care I never had the time to get it checked out.
But yeah, like that's Asian practice, like every time you

(08:04):
get a break up, grabbing tissue the mom my nose
like everything time. No, Yeah, he I think he calls
you like booger or something.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
He used to call me running nose or something like that.
He was like, your nose always run. I was like,
I cant this is good for the nickname. So no, literally,
but that's too okay, We'll think of something else. I
also think of something like it's not, oh goodness, something

(08:35):
cute that's so cute.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Like but he said, he said, he used to tell
you wipe your nose to go take a nap.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah he did. He used to be the main one
on me about it every Sunday. I know what I
was going to hear about it?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
All right, So let's take a pivot. Let's start talking
a little bit more about basketball. And you're transferring over
from Wisconsin over to Ukon, so tell us a little
bit about like what motivate you to leave Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
It was given you know, you only have four years
of college and it was my last year, and I
just had goals like I want to play in March.
I want to like, I just wanted more. I think
I owed it to myself to experience the fullness that
college basketball could bring. So I decided to go in
the portal because I just wanted like more. From the

(09:27):
basketball standpoint, I think I've lived in college. If anyone
could tell you, Madison is a fun place to be.
But now for the basketball side, I just I wanted
to fulfill that part in me. So I was like, yeah,
by Madison love everyone gotta go stores is really happy
to have you happy, Sarah. What were your other official visits?

(09:52):
Like you kept it pretty quiet where you were, who
you were talking to, where they keep it quiet. I
was just blessed in a position where, you know, I
had a lot of options but a short amount of
time to make a decision. So anyone on three you
heard it like someone leaked the games. Malky leaked and
I was like, how did she know this? Like? So

(10:12):
I went to un C l SU and obviously ukn
UNC was a beautiful campus. What they call it Chapel
Hill there was. That was my first one. I loved
the team, loved the coaches, the gear, the Carolina blue
was beautiful. It was beautiful. It was nice. After you
went C, I went to l s u Uge. It

(10:33):
was my first time in the South. I think I
went to Atlanta once, but that was my first time
ever in Louisiana. The coaches were really nice to me.
I met a few of the players. The campus is nice,
the facilities and is it a big campus. It's never been.
It's big. Yeah, And they have a tiger, like an
actual we have Jonathan walking around. They have a tiger
that's crazy. It's like a big like plate pen thing

(10:57):
and I think it's in front of like the football
stadium in high going camping, and they took me to
a dinner, which I know everyone saw on Twitter and
they were there were a lot of questions about this
LSU dinner. Wait tell us about it because I didn't
see it on Twitter. Okay, So I was very quiet
about my process because I just didn't want outside noise
to like influence. So I went to a dinner with LSU,

(11:21):
you know how they do for visits, and it was
a really nice dinner. It was fun again, the people
that were great. And then you know how you want
a club and hold on in a section, They had
one of those, and I was like, oh, like I
went mine. I'm eating like some burnt steak steak and
or whatever barbecue steak spirit but it's like it wasn't burned,

(11:46):
but isn't that what it's called? Whatever I'm eating, and
all I see is sparklers and a sign and I'm like,
oh my gosh. And I was I was like, oh
my god, like this is wait, what did the sign say,
like Sarah tell something like that or go something I
don't remember, and it was playing like their little they

(12:06):
have a like a theme song, their school song, and
everyone's just clapping and the sparklers and it's like a
good time. And then it got posted and then everyone's
just kind of like, Oh, Sarah's going to LC She's
going to She's going there, She's going there's for sure's
And I was like, this is exactly what I didn't want.
That's exactly why you kept the quiet, kept the quiet.

(12:28):
And when that got posted, I was like, oh, wow,
like they're gonna run with it. They're gonna run with it.
And that's exactly what they did. They ran with it,
and yeah, everyone was like, for sure, She's going to
LSU because of a sign at a dinner or whatever. Again,
I loved it, and I loved the effort that the

(12:50):
coach has put into trying to get me there. But yeah,
it was fun. I really did. I really enjoyed the visit.
But I chose U Khan for my own reasons because
they aligned with what I wanted for my last year.
I think, out of my options, it was the best
place that again, I could look back and be like,
I gave college basketball my all. I pushed myself and

(13:10):
to be able to play with some of the best
players in the country and coach by the best coaches
in the country. At a point I sat down. I
was like, even though it was in stores, Connecticut, it's
not an opportunity I could pass upon. What you mean
we cut that? Tell us about your visit to Yukon.

(13:34):
I got here and then I had met at the dinner.
You know, when you land, you go have dinner with
a few of the teammates. It was KK, Jana, Sarah.
I think it was only them three. And at first,
like when I'm around new people, I'm a little more
quiet and reserved because I'm just trying to like a lot.
Wait was Kaylee? There was she there? Yes, we did

(13:56):
a joint visit. So I was just pretty quiet. And
then I was side wait, like off the bed, I
was like, these girls are funny, but like my type
of funny, Like the humor is up there. So I'm
just like eating and I'm like checking in a little bit,
checking like they're really funny. And then the tour campus
here is beautiful, Like I love grass I compliment the

(14:19):
grass all the time. I'm like, they they hook up
with the grass here they have wiscons they did, but
like but here, like the lawns and stuff, like they
make sure it looks right here, it's different. The grass.
The grass here is good, Like it is different, Like

(14:40):
even though it's not as like busy, Like it's nice,
you know, like to be able to walk and like
the peacefulness of it, and like everything's just new, so
it's always just something to look forward to every time
you like go for a walk. But yeah, the gems
was nice. All the trophies that were around, like they
literally have trophies like propping the door open. I was like,

(15:03):
I was like, wow, like that's incredible that you could
even you know, do that. And then the banners in
the in the practice gym and all the staff were
very welcoming. The players were very welcoming. And I love
the honesty from the coaches. They didn't try to sweet
talk me. They were just straight up and honest. And
at a certain point I did comment on my visit,

(15:24):
it just felt right, Yeah, it just felt right. Yeah,
So I always trust that feeling I have and then
yet now I'm here, that's funny you thought you were
quiet because I remember being at the dinner at Coaches
Restaurant and I was like, she's got a good person,
Like she's actually talking and engaging, where Kelly was like mute,
she was quiet, and I was like Sarah's joking around,
she's talking. I was like she'd fit in really well,

(15:46):
that was crazy because I have that's like quiet for me, Like.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
I mean knowing you now, but like I thought, for
being on your visit and not knowing anyone, being in
a new place, you were still very That's true. Thanks,
it was a fun dinner sitting with you. Sometimes you're
like okay, like got to drag things out of people
to talk like you were just thank you. What were
you most intimidated by before coming to Yukon?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Just stepping into a new culture of like winning that
wasn't wait cut that we need that you you were first,
you stepping into a winning culture that because I knew
I knew nothing about this was going to be easy,

(16:31):
Like on and off the core, I knew that from
the jump I expected to be this hard. Like I
knew it wasn't gonna be easy. So just like knowing that,
like every day was really going to be a battle.
And that's what I wanted though, Like and I'm like
learning to embrace it now because obviously you know, challenges
are challenges, but like it's what I wanted. I was

(16:53):
coming in and like, no, I'm here for a reason.
I don't need to like overly do too much or
trying to prove myself, Like just do what you're good
at and don't let like, you know, random outside things
try to like make you like fit what you think
I need to be in the winning culture that I'm
now part of. If that makes sense. Yeah, No, I
can't imagine transferring your last year, like you knew Wisconsin system,

(17:17):
what the coaches wanted, and now like your last it's
not even a full year you have here and you're
figuring out a new system, new coaching style, new players.
And that's why I was excited.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Like I knew you're gonna be fun to play with
in the summer when we're playing pick up and you're like,
what do you like? Do you like ball streets like Puching,
Caduy like this, You're like, I'm just trying to figure
out how you like to play so I can get
to know you and like you really trying to figure
out the chemistry with each player stood out to me
and I was like, Okay, she's gonna be fun because
she picks up on this stuffs.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
I love playing with people who, like, you know, love
to play basketball, like after being somewhere for three years,
I don't want it to be all me, Like I
want to play like I want to pass, like said
good screens, like I like just love sing that like
in a in a basketball game, like you can't guard one, two, three, four, five,

(18:06):
and we got a bench you can't guard them, you know.
On that confidence in the team. That's just what I'm
really excited for. And I want, you know, my teammates
to trust me and like all both sides of the floor,
and I trust them too. Like, so it's been it's
been fun so far. What was your first impression of easy? Oh, actually,
I'm very curious to know. I was going to ask

(18:26):
you this the other day in the locker room too.
Oh yeah, and then she left, I left, so I
didn't hear. So, yeah, it was the picture when we
was taking pictures, was that one? Oh yeah, yeah, it
was the pictures. She's quieter than I thought, like I okay.
The first thing, I didn't expect Easy to talk like that.
Her voice, how she sounds. Hi. I was like, I

(18:53):
think I called my friend. I was like, I didn't
expect easy to sound like that? What did you think? Like? Hey,
what's up? Actually like a she's like very soft spoken,
and it's like like a very like girly if that
makes but yes, a very princess like when you're coming

(19:15):
off the screen, like makes you pass it like it's
not myself. I'm gonna do something else today. Oh, we
don't practice today. Next time I'm practicing. Just wait, I'm
so serious to just wait, I'm gonna le Okay, So

(19:45):
what was your impression of Gino? When I first spoke
to him. It was over a zoom because before I
play my visits, I had zooms with the schools. It
was very much like he has this aura of intimidation
about him. And I was on the phone. We was
on the zoom and then he like takes he took
pauses between he spoke, and I was like, am I

(20:06):
saying the wrong thang? Like? Is he not? Like? Is
this not me?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
You know?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
I was like and I literally texted my coach. I'm
like why is he taking pauses? Like is he bored?
Like am I not doing something right? And he's just
like no, Like that's just like how he is. And
he was I like his honesty. I think I like
the honesty that he gave me. That's just what you
really need at a certain point. And with my last year,
I needed just straight honesty and he gave that to me.

(20:34):
It's important to keep it real.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
It's your last year's y'all, last year might as well
go out in an honest bang. So you said that
you learned your teammates personalities from their social media? Has
it matched up?

Speaker 2 (20:48):
It's more than what's on social media? Oh tell us.
Sarah Strong is the biggest one, because like she's paying
to be this awkward, quiet like person, but she's like
the complete opposite. She's like one of the funniest people
I've ever met, Like one of the funniest people, and
she like it don't take much for her to speak neither.

(21:09):
Like so like how she's portrayed as the complete opposite
KK just like Goofball. She's funny, easy too, Like she's
the dances I see and the fashion outfits, she's asy's
funny eighty is very funny. I can't say her jokes
here because they're gonna have to get cut. But you know,

(21:31):
everyone has a personality, which is nice to be around.
Everyone has their own unique personality. I feel like this
team is really fun. Like there's a lot of big personalities,
but it's not like too much. Like they met all
and it's like with everyone, like like everyone could be
with each other and switch and then it'll still be fun.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Okay, Well, I did my due diligence and I was
on your social media, and I mean your videos are entertaining,
at least from your tiktoks, and I see your you're rocking.
I think that's a little Lulu or something I love
a little at leisure or like athletic wear. And I
saw that you're starting to get more into like fashion

(22:15):
and putting on fits. Yes, yes, girl, tell us about that.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
I'm growing up. My mom's a single mom obviously didn't
have much. So when I got to college and started
making my own money, I just got interested in like, Okay,
like who am I like when I put on clothes?
Like I got stuff that I wanted when I was younger,
Like I don't get wear them as much but I
just wanted it. So, you know, some shoes like a
big sneaker head like a big sneaking. But then now

(22:42):
I'm like into the girly slide like I love Lulu.
I'm starting to get into Alo a little bit. I
don't know how I really feel about the white, the
little what they call it, the baggy, the white, the
wide legs. Yeah, have a fitted a fitted bodies teas, Okay, thanks,
but yeah the mix between my girly and comfy and

(23:06):
now they make cute clothes for tall women. Yeah, finally
has to wait twenty years for it. So to being
able to like play around with that and figure out,
like what I like, what I don't like, what looks
good on me, and what doesn't. It's been fun to
like experiment.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
She'll be on her scooter going to class with her
little matching Lulu sett with her with.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Her first on her gucchiers. I'm just all right going
to class. I was not real people who like thought
my priorities were off because I'm on a scooter with
the Gucci I love it. I love it. Who says
you can't do both?

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Girl and said you can't do both, she shows that
you can't like exactly girly and focused. Okay, so we
have some fan questions that we're going to get into.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
All right, Azy, you're gonna help me ask some of
them too, Yes, take them. I'm curious about a lot
of them. All right, how did you get your nickname
Big Canada?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You know Calisa's stream, so you're on stream and okay,
the whole Canada thing, I live. I'm not officially Canadian yet,
I'm almost there, so the big the Canada thing is
funny because like, I lived there, but I'm not really Canadian.
So we were on the stream and Sarah Strong is
playing Fortnite and then she's trying to trow. She's like,

(24:32):
everyone put big Canada in the chat, Big Canada in
the chat. And then they put big Canada in the chat.
When they would throw me, they will say extra small,
Canada medium, Like that's actually funny, Like it was funny.
So that's where that's where it came from. Extra smoking,
extra smoking because the chat would troll patrolling back. The

(24:53):
Yukon fans are very funny. They are very they are.
You're very funny. They are.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
We're actually on the hunt finding a nickname for Sarah
because we have two Sarah's. Yeah, she doesn't like anything.
She like literally nothing she's like. So if you have
any suggestions, please because it has.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
To be cool. You girly, you don't want we want girly,
and it has to stick. Like they he said, Wills
like big Wills. I don't look like a Wills girl
as Will. Uh, that's the They used to call me
that in middle school because it was another Sarah in
my class.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
So they used to call me the listeners. You're gonna
have the nickname Sarah. We want to see the comments.
It's not exprect. Oh my goodness, boogers, snotty?

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Is this cute? Okay, that's cute? Snotty? Yeah, all right,
snotty because it could also be something else. You know
how you call her like bougie, so you know, snaughty
like you know, but like imagine me on the court
like snatty. It would just be I'm actually not mad
at that. Wow. Yeah, we're getting somewhere's Yeah, let's keep

(26:08):
cooking though, Let's kick you if I can love. So
the fans want to know what As is like without
the cameras.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
I know you talked about how she has personality is
there anything else as.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Is how you would imagine any twenty two year old
girl to be. I'm trying not to get in some
too much details because it probably won't get posted. But like,
think about a very fun, very college girl. Okay, a
good time with personality. I don't know, I can't say it.
Oh my goodness. We make it like it's bad, mistake.

(26:46):
It's not bad, Like it's like she's very funny. She
likes to her head her dances. Okay. Next question, who
on the team is best at fortnit? Are you good
at fortnit? No? The best at fortnite? Sarah Strong? And
since Sarah play Fortnite, she should play. But she plays

(27:07):
with like the keyboard. Oh yeah, you're good. Yeah that's
she was good. Why do you wear number? Twenty two?
My favorite number? I were twenty five, So in high
school we're twenty Wisconsin twenty five. I just has twenty five,
So I was gonna do two plus five seven. Calice
has seven, So I was like, oh, what can I

(27:29):
do like twenty Like everything didn't sound right, but twenty
two twenty two was like like, you know, cooked a
little bit. So I chose twenty two just because it
was like I feel like it fit. It had to
be two digits and it had to start with a
two mm hmm. Okay, so there were no significance, just

(27:49):
pure vibes, pure vibes. I love that number. I like it.
I think if that's you, thank you. I love it.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Myself is my number in college, it's part of most
my social media is my favorite number.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Hey, you have a you should get a tat it
on you. That's a great idea. I love that. In
your opinion, do your coaches have a favorite? No, I
don't think, at least so far, I haven't noticed. I
haven't noticed anything. Everyone gets their fair share of critique coaching.
I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, okay, all right, would you said we kind of
said they want to know who the funniest teammate is.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
It's between KK and Sarah. No, your apartment is actually
unmatched between KK and Sarah and not gonna lie Ice
is up there? Ice is like ice is up there.
But between KK and Sarah, I can't. I can't decide.
Like they're fun, They're very funny and like the same

(28:47):
way but different like my do that little I love
you Sarah that kills me, like every time Sarah you
do a good job because I hear it all the time. No,
no between those two for sure.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Another fan question is do you like cottage cheese? No,
Sarah is a picky You don't don't even like fruit.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
She doesn't like fruit. She said, fruit's not sweet. Okay,
let me tell you. I don't like fruit because the
inconsistency of fruit. Oh, texture, want strawberry, Yeah, if I
want to straw It's not even the texture, it's the flavor. Oh.
Sometimes it's sweet, sometimes it's not. Yeah, Like sometimes it's sweet,
sometimes it's bitter. Sometimes it has no taste. If I
get a piece of fruit, especially if I pay for it,

(29:39):
it needs to be enjoyable. I shouldn't have to eat
it just to eat it like I want to enjoy it.
So I don't really like I eat mangos. Mangos are
pretty consistent, Bananas are consistent. Those are the only two
consistent fruits. Apples, I don't like apples. I like apple
juice I don't like okay, whatever. What are your hobbies

(30:02):
outside of basketball? I love to shop. I love to shop.
I like to eat, and I love to shop. Like
my kind of girl walks. I do like to walk.
When it's nice, Like I think I'm gonna walk today
from the gym today. Yeah, legos love legos. I like
to listen to music TikTok raw on TikTok. I like,

(30:25):
if you ask me anything about a meme, I probably
know it. She doesn't know a lot of it. Like
my meme knowledge is probably like it's up there. It's
up there for sure.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Okay, do you have any basketball role models? Asia Wilson
and you're wearing twenty two?

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Come on now? Mm hmm oh I didn't even put
this look at that. Yes, I love Asia unintentional unintentional greatness.
So are you waiting for them for the finals? Yes?
Go aces.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Okay, So we're gonna get into our fudding game segment
of the pod. The first game we're going to play
is going to be like a who does it better?
And it is going to be Midwest versus East Coast.
So I'm gonna list a couple of things and you're

(31:18):
gonna tell us who did it better?

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Okay, Ready, first one is fall Activities? Who does it better? Oh?
Why do you say that? They just do more? I
don't know, Like I feel like we're gonna do more
of these next couple of weekends, you'll see I'm gonna
say it's just same Midwest. Yeah, that's fine opinion, but

(31:43):
you know we biased. Yeah, so you say East Coast.
I've never really had a Midwest fall, so that's fair.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Definitely East Coast also biased. Okay, next, bagels.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Coast specifically New York. Come on, we all lines outdoor activities. Oh,
I'm gonna say Midwest, Midwest, Yeah, probably Lake early Yeah,
the lakes.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
We love a body of water. Ice cream anywhere. Honestly,
does the Midwest do like a special ice cream? I
don't know about. I don't think they have a special
ice cream. But that's where the cows are.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
I mean, you know what point here the coat? So
you want to answer that? Okay, I mean good, yeah, Jerry,
I'll stay here. East Coast Okay, pizza East Coast, East
Coast again, New York, New York specific.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
I love whoever made this game. The people friendliness is
what we're talking about. It was more friendly Midwest or
East Coast.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Not gonna lie the East Coast. Wow, why do you
say that. I'm surprised because, like maybe because you know,
I grew up in the East Coast and they're like
more my people. But the Midwest, I feel like they're
overly friendly, that they feel like they have to be
friendly and not really be authentically themselves, at least in

(33:24):
the East Coast, you don't. You're gonna get it straight
off the bet you're gonna and the rest are like
they play nice, they play nice. Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
The thing about the East Coast is we'll do something
kind but with an attitude, but it's still it's still nice,
you know what I mean. Like you inconvenience me, so
I have an attitude, but I'm still gonna help you
up these steps, you know what i mean. Like, so
that's a good answer. I actually think the nicest people
are in the South. But that's your Southern hospitality. Yeah, okay,

(33:55):
nightlife East Coast. I'm also gonna say East Coast. East
Coast h basketball. East Coast, I would say the Midwest
the Midwest.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Why do you say that that? Why do you say that?
Like just overall like more enjoyable basketball, Like if I'm
an outside, I'm not a basketball player, and I just
want to watch to enjoy the teams that play in
the Midwest, the games are more enjoyable and now you
can't blowing everyone out in the bies, Okay, got you?

Speaker 3 (34:24):
So it's like a little bit more competitive in the Midwest,
and maybe, like I don't know, I don't know, I
never I don't think I've been to a game out there.
But yes, when yukon't smacking everybody, that's probably not as
fun to watch watch it's fun to play in.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I wantn't know.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Okay, So that wraps up our who does it better?
Next we're going to get into our what the fud
of the week. So if you don't know what the
fun of the week is, something that happened this week
that made you go, what the fud? So Sarah as
our honored guests, what's your what the fud.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Of the week? Mine? What the fud is? Keep power?
Powers or powers? And Ryan Destiny announced their engagement. Yeah
I wait because I thought they had broken up and
all this stuff. But their pictures were beautiful. They looked
really good, really good. They're gonna such a beautiful couple.
Come on, beautiful babies, beautiful babies. We love Black loves

(35:25):
to I think my what the fud of the week
would be?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
You guys, being number one and projected in the polls
shout out to your team Yukon.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Not a surprise though for me. I didn't even know
that came out me either. It's okay, you don't need
to worry about that. That doesn't matter for y'all, y'all
lock it.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
But for those who don't play at Yukon, that was
exciting for me to see and also not a shock
like Rain and Champs.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Come on now, so our final game, we're going to
play fud or fiction. So I'm going to read some
scenarios that are either gonna be truth fud or fiction.
You guys are ready? Yes? Is this a game for points?
I think this is really like a game for you.
And if I don't get right, then that's just like embarrassings.

(36:10):
I think it's about me. Okay, so this is kind
of like a how well do you I think someone?
It's not about me? But like no, well you know me? No, honestly,
you might be surprised by some of this. Okay, okayeah, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
The first one before Jonathan the Husky, your team was
originally known as the Aggies fiction fiction. Okay, Okay, it's
actually true. The university's official name was the Connecticut Agriculture
College from eighteen ninety nine to nineteen thirty three.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
The Aggies. I had no idea. I told you this
is gonna be football for you. Next one.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Yukon was originally founded in Stanford, but multiple bootlegging violations
by students during their prohibition forced themistration to move the
school to stores.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Fud or fiction fun, Like, I feel like that could
be true, but I'm gonna go fiction since you said fun,
it is fiction.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Our producers made that up. It was so thorough and well. Yeah,
I was like, who took this from a textbook?

Speaker 2 (37:19):
And okay? Ready?

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Instead of landing on Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower was originally
supposed to land on a shore in Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Fiction action fiction.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
The Mayflower was originally meant to land in New York City,
which was still considered the north parts of Virginia at
the time.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Look at us learning given history. Okay, ready, Oh my gosh.
This next one.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
Before a dinner with Travis Kelce, Tim Fudd realized that
his shirt did not fit, so he went on his
search in New York City for a new one an
hour before the appointment.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Fun fun, Yeah, it is the truth.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
That's crazy, but on par with with pop exact exactly
two more, the rock on Yukon's campus is actually a
meteorite fiction fiction.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Yes, that's fiction because our team is real creative.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
Okay, last one, ready, Asy's mom played against coach Gino
in the early parts.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Of his career. But that is true. That's so cool.
We need to find some old tape. They actually showed
me some of my visit playing.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Valid question if you're listening, answer no, my mom played
at Georgie shown answers no, it's not is making a
face like absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
That is a wrap on today's episode. Sarah, thank you
so much for joining us. There is an honor and
I'm so glad that we could do your first podcast.
Hope you had fun.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
