Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, Jewels, my back's but hurting me for quite a
couple you know, days, But guess what, it's fixed now,
so I'm back.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Well you've been carrying this goddamn podcast. Of course your
back hurts. Jesus.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Now you carried at the last two shows. But this
show I came on fire because I fixed my back.
When my back's fixed, I feel good. My brain fires
at a million miles per hour. But when my back
is hurting, then my brain is focused on fixing my back,
and then my back is whack and my brain is whack.
But now it's all fixed, So now I'm good to go.
Welcome to Dudes on Dudes. I'm Rob Gronkowski.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
And I'm Julian Edelman and this is the show where
your favorite dudes get to talk about their favorite dudes.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
And today we're hitting the chill line to take your calls.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
We got more voicemails and that number is.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Five six one two zero three, five seven eight nine.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
And what are we talking about today?
Speaker 1 (00:53):
We're talking about what city deserves a new NFL franchise?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
What about a Canadian team?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
There you go, Canada would be cool.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
We spend a little bit too much time analyzing the
NFL coaches picture.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
We need coaches to get fat again, Oh zepic, I
should be on the peed lest for these coaches. And
then we talked about a Jewels and Gronk body swap.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
What would that be like, I.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Go take a piss and be like, is this thing mine?
And then we wrap it up by naming the chillis
Color of the Week presented by Coors Light.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Let's Go.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Dudes On Dude is a production of iHeart Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Test one, two, three, four five.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Roberto's full tech. I know it's like, don't worry, guys,
I got it.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
I set it up by myself. I get it done, Jules.
I'm on top of my game.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Brother, I gotta get rid of Ralphrey.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
You ready, We're ready? Ralphie in check.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, he isn't chuck. I threw them out of the
room and locked the door.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
You locked it? Is he gonna? Is he gonna start scratching?
Speaker 4 (02:04):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I just closed it on him. Nah, he'soulna scratching because
he has the rest of the house.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
So what's he doing? He roams the house in Tampa, Florida.
Does he have a special sun spot a sun bed?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
You know?
Speaker 3 (02:15):
He likes to sit on the couch.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
I'm not really sure where exactly, he says when we
leave the house. But right now he's playing with the
tennis bostil. He's running all over the place. But he
has a spot where he goes outside and he just
lays right in the side and on the turf outside
in the front yard.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
It's gated, so I don't have to worry about him
running away.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, you know, with with Rocky, I don't let him
have full rein in the house.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, I know that. And whenever I'm on the couch,
he's not allowed on the couch or in that little section.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, there's certain he can go on bed, but not couches,
and he can only go in bed after washes.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
But your couches are really white, and he carries a
lot dirt with him because of his furs. So that's
like a real that's like a a good rule.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I like it. It's an understandable rule.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Now, But do you ever get worried about the city
juice on their little fingers and paws when they come
up and run on you, and then they jump on
your pillow, and then you put your eyebrow where some
dude took a dump on the cement where your dog
walked over.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Well, Jules. When I'm in New York City, I have
a rule with Ralphie.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
After every single day, at nighttime, he has to shower
before he gets in bed. And that's my official rule
in New York City or if we're in a city,
because in New York City, I have my own condo
in my own bed, So if it was a hotel room,
I just let him sleep at the bottom of the
bed because the sheets are about to be washed next
(03:41):
day anyways. But when it's in your own place, he
has to shower every single night. So typically I'm there
for about two nights, so he takes about two showers
in a row, two nights in a row, and like
the second night in a row, he's like, I just
shower last night. He starts screaming the shower. But I'm like, hey, bye,
we're in New York City. If you want to sleep
with me tonight, but you better shower right now for sure.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
How's Tampa right now? What's is it? Spring is hot?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Tampa's popping right now? Baby, Like about a week ago,
it just turned up, you know, to a whole nother notch.
So it's been about the whole time I've been here
for about a month and a half, it's been about
seventy five degrees seventy two to seventy seven sunny, no
humidity at all, and then it drops down to about
fifty five every single night. And then about a week ago,
(04:25):
the best about a week ago, it all sudden just
turned up the notch. You know, you just turn that
like it's like turning up the sign of pouring that
extra water on the sign and just feeling that extra steam.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
It turned up a notch.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
It's like you know Tom out at practice after a loss,
he turns up the notch a little bit, you know.
And it's about eighty four to eighty seven degrees every
single day now. And today this morning just worked out
at Shuka. It was the first day the humidity hit two.
So I was drenched, bro which was good because I
had a weekend down in Miami. Had a couple drinks,
(05:01):
you know, you know over the last over seven hours,
nothing too crazy, but you have a.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Six six eight drinks. Oh whoa, whoa? So I sweated
all out.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Were you in Miami for ultra?
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I usually am, but I wasn't necessarily there for Ultra.
It was my friend Vinnie's birthday and his friend was
opening up a restaurant that we know, so we were like, hey,
why don't we meet in Miami and we.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Just go support our friend's restaurant, which was She Sue.
The name is She Sue and it's in Windwood. Very
very you know, high end, beautiful restaurant, great vibes, very tasty.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
It's basically nobu. That's the best way to explain it.
How do you explain that.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Food Asian fusion sushi.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yes, exactly, and then you can still get a steak,
you can still get fish, all the good stuff. So
it's right up our alley loved it, but I was
there for that. And then we hopped on a boat
and guess where we went to?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Where'd you go?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Palm Tree Festival Hotel and we day partied a little bit. Yeah,
it's Caigo and Miles. They opened up a hotel in
North Beach, Miami, and they turned his doc into a
day club and they bring DJs in and it was cool.
It was a cool little hot spot, you know, it's
(06:18):
on the newer side. A couple of DJs were playing.
We were there for about an hour and a half.
It was a perfect amount.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Man.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I'm not there at a rage all day anymore and
get absolutely hammered. You just get a taste of it,
just a little taste of dessert. Was there with Camille,
a couple buddies. Then we hopped in our uber, went
back to the hotel, cleaned up real quick, went out
to dinner. Man, it was the perfect Saturday that you
could possibly have in Miami. It was one of my
best saturdays I had in Miami in a while.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Wow, did you see Dola? I heard Dola's down there.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yes, Dola is down there. We face timed each other.
He was out at his spot eating dinner. I was
out at my spot eating dinner. But we did not
meet up, but we facetimed each other and got to
catch up. He was with Cliff Kingsbury, and uh, you know,
we're gonna have to catch up with him. He was
just on a different schedule than I was. But next
time we're in the same city, I gotta catch up
(07:11):
with Dola.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
He's the man.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Old Dolo mate Dordam.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Hey wait, did we talk about me? What's up in
La I'm gonna be there soon, Jewels. I'm gonna be
there in a couple of days.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
We're on a podcast. I'm gonna be back in the nuthouse,
you know, podcasting. We'll hit a couple shows when I'm
there as well, which is gonna be fun to get
this show back under one roof. It's cool over this
zoom stuff, but we need this show back on, you know,
back together under one roof with the whole crew. It's
gonna be popping. But how's it going over there in La.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Well, we'd have to be under one roof because it's
raining outside right now here in La. Last Thursday, I
went to I went to Boston for the night. I
did the Adam Ray show when he dresses up like
doctor phil Over at the MGM in Fenway, which was awesome.
(08:04):
It was my first time at that venue. It's a
kind of I think it's like two or three years old.
It's right, it's right in Fenway. We snuck in. I
felt like I was robbing a bank in uh in
the movie The Town, and like walked into the cool
great movie, but like we snuck into the Fenway and
and got to look at the field, which was awesome.
(08:25):
I stayed at raffles new hotel, beautiful, beautiful hotel, very
nice hotel. They have a restaurant in there, don't know
what its name is, but it was very good. Lost
something Italian, swanky spot. But La has been good. Uh
went golfing, did all right. My sister came to town,
(08:49):
so we had lunch. We went out and took her
out on a drive and the Mustang showed her the beach.
So just a standard weekend. Looking forward to this week,
little bug. The soccer game was was canceled. Soccer game
was canceled.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
What happened? Too much rain?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
I don't know, lack of players, rain, whatever it is,
it's not a good reason, lightning.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
It's not a good reason under.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Taking these kids off the goddamn field because of a
little freaking water. Toughen up. Toughen the fuck up. That's bullshit.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Stop swearing, Jules.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I want to know. Just directed to the kids. Oh,
it's directed to the people that are running the organization.
I want to put it on blast. I will not
put it on blast. Toughen up bullfos. But for whatever reason,
we're canceling games because of rain. Now it could have
been canceled for something completely else, but I'm putting it
on rain and it's bullshit. Let's jump into some of
(09:59):
the these weekly things that are bouncing around the league.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Let's do it. Let's jump right into it.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Do you see this? Do you see the photo of uh,
the coaches at the league meetinging this weekend.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
This is always but I'll look at it right now.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Look at it. You got day Ball over on the left.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Oh, Dabel looking like Dabel, all prim and proper, acting
like he's prim and proper.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
All right, we're.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Zooming in right now, Duvau.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
I know what's you want to know what's a disappointment
here is that these coaches are starting to get in
shape now.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Man.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
They're looking like they've been working out with the players,
throwing some routes, going for jogs like.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Back in the day.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Man, there's a lot of you know, positional coaches that
are still looking like coaches. But these guys right now
are looking slim, looking jack, looking like they go for
a run, actually looking like they go and lift some weights.
But we need coaches to get fat again. Remember we
had Doll. We wanted Dolla to get fat when he
was coaching with you know, the Los Angeles raiders. That's
(11:03):
a that's a true typical coaches. When they're fat and overweight,
that means you're the best out there. So I mean,
I think I think the problem is is that oh
Zempe came out. So I think these coaches should start
getting tested. You gotta start tests, epic. It should be
on the pe D list for these coaches. When the
(11:23):
fat again, it makes football better.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I mean, who's winning in a fight? Is Rave? Rave's
over there? I tell you he's probably not winning in
a fight. Who Mike Daniels.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
I was thinking the same.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yeah, but is supposed to be like a great wrestler.
I tell you Duvall is not going to win it.
Dave Ball is scrappy and I used to see his
little freaking remember day Ball used to always show the
pitch of him when he had hair, and he was
all jacked in the college like no matter what, he
(12:05):
just wanted to he had an excuse to show us
that goddamn picture so many goddamn times. But he looked
like a stud so I bet you he was pretty Studley.
Todd Bowles, I bet you Todd Bowles is sneaky assassin.
Yeah he is, man, He's like quiet. Aaron Glenn's a
former player. He probably got you the offhand. Jam fucking
(12:26):
jam your ass up.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Todd Bowles is a former player as well.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
He'll he'll, he'll knock you out, knock some senseence you
if he needs to, no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Well, look at Pete Carroll. He's in a Harborough sandwich.
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Where's where's Pete?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
He's the only one that could say that, right there
in the front row in the gray. Oh, he's between
the two Harboroughs. That's a nice sandwich right there.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Wait, who's next to Aaron Glenn? Is that Johnson has
gotta be dude, I'll tell you right now. Uh. Dan
Campbell looks pretty jacked.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
He does.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
He looks like a linebacker, kind of like a defensive
lineman and linebacker combined.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I think he's the only one that scares me for
rabes m hm in a fight.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Tomlin looking gangster.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Where's where's there he is?
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Koc looking like just straight. So all he's missing is
some puka shells and he's like perfect. Two thousand and
three in in uh Laguna Beach.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
The polos are popping again. Every coach is wearing a
polo besides like one or two of them. So polos
are back.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, look at it. So who's not wearing a polo?
Tomlin's stud Peyton bed not, but he's wearing the Panthers coat.
Dave Canalis, which he did a really good job last
year getting that team, uh fighting.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
He did.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
What I liked is when he benched Bryce Young. I
kind of felt like he just needed a kick in
the butt. You know, sometimes you just need that, you
need to get bench, you need to you know, just
just get that extra motivation going again. And he did
a good job with that because after he benched him,
Bryce Young came back and he was playing like a
number one pick. It was pretty pretty impressive. So you
(14:21):
got to give it to him there for doing that.
You know, they actually might do some damage this year
the Carolina.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I think, grace of God, he got back in because
Andy Dalton got in a car accident on the way
to the game or something, wasn't it something like that.
By the grace of God, they had to bring him
back in. And it turned out to be a great,
great decision because they looked like a viable team. Look
at look at that's the day ball shot that's the
day Ball shot. He used to show us one without
(14:47):
the hair. Remember this, Rob, that's Dayboll. He didn't show
you this fucking picture.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
I'd never seen that.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
I'm so surprised he didn't have it like on his
wall in the tight ends room. Dave Ball used to
love showing me fucking this picture. I don't know why.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Dang, look at him. He looks like a kid that's
just picking a fight on the streets every day.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
He does look like a badass.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
He does.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
All right, let's go. Let's go into some others coaches,
league meetings, or the league meeting photo. That's always something
fun to go over. Some NFL light news. Russell Wilson
signs the Giants. Details of the contract ten and a
half million eight to sign two guaranteed during and he
can get five hundred workout bonuses. You think the Giants
(15:39):
are going to draft a QB Rob.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Well, first off, I think it's a great deal. I
think it's a smart move by the New York Giants
to sign Russell Wilson. They need a quarterback on the roster.
They got Jameis Winston and now they got Russell Wilson.
And the best was that news or whatever Julian that
came out like a month ago that I'm going back
to football, which was just absurd just going back to it. Obviously,
the first one to hurry up and FaceTime me, he's.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Like, you're going back to football.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
I'm like, Dabel, you know I would tell you first
if I was going back to football. You're always first
on my list. I told you that for the last
two years. And I go and I'm like, I can't
even open up my eyes. I got jet lag right now.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
How am I going to go back to football?
Speaker 1 (16:19):
And I go, and even if I do, how can
I come to your giants? You don't even have a
quarterback on your roster. He's invisible right now. And Davill
just starts shaking his.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Head at me and he's like, I'm gonna get one
for you, buddy. If you're coming every time you're coming
to me, I'm gonna get one for you.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
And I was like, nah, you have no quarterback, buddy.
But this was a good move by him. They needed
Russell Wilson. It's not even a risk either, because you're
paying a guy you know that's already paid and you're
giving them ten million dollars, only two million guaranteed he's
proven as well, he's gonna be on the roster. So
a very good deal by the New York Giants because
they needed a guy. And are they gonna draft a
(16:56):
guy now?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
I feel like you can get away with either Jamis
Winston or Russell Wilson this year and draft a skilled
player and then, you know, possibly wait until next year's
draft to draft the quarterback if they're not in love
with any of the quarterbacks in the.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Draft this year.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Well, Joe Shaw said, you can't force to pick if
you don't think the guy's a franchise caliber quarterback. What
do they have third? They have the third? He said
that he doesn't want to force it. This guy, I
think he needs to talk a little less.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
I'm just saying I like him.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I've met him.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
He seems like a cool guy.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
What kind of screwed him was hard knocks last year?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
One thousand percent of why we'd ever agree to that,
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I don't know why any team agrees to hard knocks.
I am not a big fan of hird knocks. I
thought it was super cool and high Scholing is great watching, but.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Really, like you really can't truly gain any.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
True positivity, you know, or true momentum from hard knocks.
I never seen it really benefit a team before. I
have only seen it really go against you know, players
and coaches. I mean what sells as controversies. And the
controversy was Joe not signing Saquon and look how much
heat he's taking because of the hard knocks clip, you know,
(18:16):
going into their conversation. So Joe, just do your thing, man,
and just don't, you know, just stop talking to the media.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I guess, yeah, I would just keep it down. But
I guess he's probably trying to get that out there
maybe for people to that could be some trade bait stuff.
That's like some GM talk shit where they they got
to go out there and put their voices out because
they want to let people know they're open for business
for a trade or something like that. But do I
think they're going to draft a quarterback With these two
(18:46):
quarterbacks that they have right now or three would tell
me to cutlets as well, Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson.
I think if they do draft a quarterback, those guys
will help them. Those are like help helping type guys
he's in the quarterback room. They don't have crazy ego.
We saw, you know, Russell Wilson deal with everything he
dealt with last year in Pittsburgh with the Justin Fields thing,
(19:11):
and like he was a good sport about it. Jamis
Winson's been a backup for the last few years and
he's good at nourishing young quarterbacks. It looks like they're
going to draft a quarterback. I don't you know. That's
what it looks like. So do I think it's a
good signing. Yes, anytime you add another good player into
the room. I'm not saying he's a franchise quarterback like
(19:34):
what he was once was. But anytime you bring in
guys that have been around the league that are going
to compete that it don't have egos that'll help a
young guy. I think that's good for the team. It is.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
But my official statement, if you ask me at a
New York Giants taken a quarterback, I'm going with no
Now in the draft, maybe third round or something or
fourth round, But with a third pick, I think they're
going to take a skill player.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Now, I think they'll get a skill player, but maybe
they'll maybe they like a quarterback later, maybe they trade
out of it. And I don't know. I think they're
going to draft a quarterback somewhere they need to.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
All right, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
All right, let's let's get into some voicemails.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Rob let's do it.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
I love voicemails. I love when fans ask us question Jules.
It's more personal. You know, it gives me thinking and
you know it keeps you on your toes. So let's
get into these voicemails. And remember that phone number is
five six one two zero three, five seven eight nine.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Ask us anything. We'll answer literally anything, and I'm talking anything.
We're not scared.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I'm terrified.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Oh hey, my name is Austin from Greensboro, North Carolina.
If you guys could pick one city to get an
NFL team, what or sorry, what city would you pick?
And then if yours is a realistic what do you
think is a realistic city for NFL team to go to?
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Thanks?
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Hmm, realistic city. So yesterday I was walking, we were
walking in Hermosa Beach, my sister and my buddy Dane,
and we brought up the memory of remember in like
oh five Madden you could play as the Tiberan Sharks, Joels.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
I'd never really played Madden before, so I don't really recall.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
I used to be able and Tibron is where my
sister lives. It's in northern California, which I believe is
where John Madden used to live. So there was like
a fantasy team, the Tiberan Sharks.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
I don't know if I put a team there, but
that was just in my head.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
No, that's not realistic. I never even heard of that city, Timber.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, it's right.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
It's like, is that a city or is that a town?
Speaker 2 (21:46):
That's a city? That's where that that I think that,
like EA Sports is at, it's where it started.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
He was asking a more broad question, like a big city,
not not no little tiny city like you know, it's
a more general of like a city that's known out there,
not not.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Some little town.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Okay, which city do you got?
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I don't really have a city. If I was thinking,
I would have to.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
I mean, I feel like every big city is taken
in the in the United States, you know, with a
football team.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Think about it.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Name a big city out there in the US that
doesn't have a football team. Right now, I'm trying to think,
you know, San Antonio, that's not that big of a city.
That's a small city. They got the Spurs, and you
got Dallas with the you know, with the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Cowboys. I was gonna say Stys, but that's the hockey team.
And then you got the Houston, Texas. Lake City, Oh,
Salt Lake City would be good.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I would say I would go overseas to a big
city overseas that's still close to the US. So possibly
a europe team. London would be pretty cool because there's
already eight games played over there, so we might as
well put a team in the city of London.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
But like something that would be cooler there. You go
Canada would be cool. Can either do Toronto or Montreal back?
Oh Oakland? Team back in Oakland?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Why not, smoke?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I mean, there's a fan base there already, but you
got it. It has to be the Raiders San Diego
to go back to Oakland. San Diego does need a team,
I agree. I was disappointed when San Diego went from
San Diego to La It just didn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
It's like that's like two hours down the road. Keep
them in San Diego City.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Got to build a staatey.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Mm hmm, all right.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
If I had to truly pick one, though, because there's
so many people in this city. It's one of the
biggest cities in the world. We played there before, we
played the Oakland Raiders there actually, and the place sold out.
I would say Mexico City. You know, you want to
know why I would say that because I actually shot
a commercial in Mexico City last year as well, and
it's only played in Mexico the commercial. That's why you
(23:56):
haven't seen it. Julian and I speak Spanish the whole
entire commercial too. So it was for Rufus, which is,
you know, another brand under the Tostitos brands, under the
Freedo La brand. But I did the Rufous potato chips
in all Spanish, which was really cool, and I did
it with the girl, that Diana girl that that's the
(24:17):
quarterback for all the seven and seven Women's leagues, and
she was in it as well.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
So I still haven't seen the commercial, but it's played
all over Mexico, I hear.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
So do you remember any of the lines in Spanish?
Speaker 4 (24:28):
No?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
I don't, I don't. Yo.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Fiesta was in some of the you know, some of
the behind the scenes takes I was doing because obviously.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
I was going to bring up Yo so Fiesta. How
could I not? But Yo So Fiesta wasn't in the
actual commercial though.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
I remember when that came out. I remember he did
it in the locker room. He's like, YoSoy Fiesta. I
was dying. Well.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I had that Spanish reporter, the ESPN Spanish reporter. He
came up to me and I was like, perfect, I
love Spanish, being silly he is.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
And that was when I was like just my.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
True self, true authentic self, Julian and I was like
just sitting there. He asked me how I'm going to
celebrate going to the Super Bowl, and that's when I
was like just a complete maniac and I truly wanted
to say I am going to party. But my Spanish,
my English is already off, Julian, so you think my
Spanish isn't going to be off. So instead of me
(25:24):
trying to say I am going to party, I accidentally said,
yosi Fiesta, I am party and it just turned out
to be a hit. It was one of my best
postgame interviews I've ever done, and it still lives to
this day. Whenever like Like, for example, when I shot
that commercial in Mexico, they brought up Yosi Fiesta. All
the people around you know that that were there on set,
(25:46):
they brought up the yos So Fiesta moment like five
different times.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Wow, yeah, look at how young you look.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Just a way of life, Jules. But I'm not the
party anymore. I'm going to make that like I was
just in Miami at the Palm Tree Festival Hotel partying
it up. I mean, but I'm not gonna lie, Juelian.
My days are over from that party scene. I can
still show up, dance a little bit, have a good time, cheers,
have a couple of drinks. But the way I used
to go and be Yosoi Fiesta, you know, it's just
(26:17):
not It's just unattainable anymore. I'm thirty five now, going
on thirty six. I used to literally pound like fifteen
twenty drinks and be able to wake up and work out.
I do that now, man, my whole body would be inflame,
my back would be hurting. So yes, I still wish
I could party like that, but I can't because I
would have to sacrifice about five good days in my
(26:38):
life to be I would have to be miserable for
about five days after. But so I'm not gonna lie
because everyone's like, oh no, I walk somewhere. All you're
the party king.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
You know I was the party king, no.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Doubt about that, Jewels, but now, you know, just go
for a good time, hang out, relax, have some conversation,
do a little dance moves, and in that good stuff.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
I like it. Thanks you, healthiest stuff.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
We grew up, buddy, we grew up a little bit trying.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
We're trying. We'll be right back after this quick break.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
All right, let's get on to our next question.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Next question, dude, this is your boy Dre from the
a DK.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
I just want to start off by saying, thank you.
You guys are the dudes.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
You rocked it, you killed it.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
My question to you is, out of all the teammates
that you had ever had, who were the.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Top studleiest studs that you had ever played alongside or
gone against?
Speaker 4 (27:32):
All right, appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Top studliest studs. I mean I think the studliest. Tom's
the studliest stud easy.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, I mean yeah, that's too easy though, especially off
the field with his looks and his jaw line and
all that.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
But we're not talking about that.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
I'm talking about maybe like peer freakishness, peer athleticism. There's
one guy that I just couldn't believe his size when
he came to our team when we picked when we
picked up Josh Gordon for about the year or two
that he was on the New England Patriots, because I'm
a big guy.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
I'm six six, two sixty and like, I'm just like love,
I idolize other big guys.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
I idolize linemen that are six seven, he's like big
guys three hundred and sixty pounds because I've been a
big guy in my whole life and it's rare when
you see really big guys. There's more smaller guys in
pro sports and big guys. So when Josh Gordon came over,
he was like, what is he six' four six' five
and his arms were bigger than mine and he just
(28:36):
looked thicker than, you know, me too and he's like
six four sixty five two thirty two thousand.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
And FIVE and i just like like.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
IDOLIZED it, i mean this guy was freaky and the
way that he could run at the wide, receiver position
AND then i was thinking about it he was that
size when he was With The cleveland browns when he
went for almost what he went for like sixteen hundred
yards in like fourteen games, or however my stats are
all off a, little BIT but i mean that's that's
just being a studliest stud being, that size, you know
(29:07):
and having that year that he Had.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
In cleveland, so yeah he's a.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
STUDLIEST stud I think revis was a studliest stud when
when like he had such the hype before he came to,
our team like He Was, reevis island and then you
got there and you, Saw him, you're like he's pretty.
Damn good like he's just. A pro he was, a stud,
you know like the way he got his work in
(29:32):
sometimes you know he would he wouldn't, he would. YOU
know i remember one on ones if you, got him
he would shut. It down but like he he just
was a stud, to me, remember that like in one of,
the ones if if you got him, one time because
he he would put that in log that what you
just did in his brain and then you couldn't do
it the. Next TIME so i just remember him being studley.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
And, so, calm focus, like focus no worries, out there
just no worries when you know you're A, good dB
you just have no worries.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Out there out in. The fields. It's impressive.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Mm hmm let's go. Next, question, hey guys This.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
Is courtney i'm Calling, From Arizona buffalo.
Speaker 4 (30:12):

Speaker 6 (30:21):
An animal it would be.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
All encompassing so all of your.
Speaker 2 (30:27):

Speaker 3 (30:33):

time i was playing and then.
Speaker 2 (30:53):

Speaker 1 (30:55):

FROM arizona i went To the University Of. Area ARIZONA
but i am. A manimal i understand you're a man
that's just an, Absolute Animal, and julian your freaking nickname is,
The squirrel so you're, Manimal too.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
So she's Talking.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
To manimal so we might have a new. Category, jewels
yeah we got.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
To bring it into. The books it's it's definitely it
definitely has a potential as potential off to take it back.
To lawmakers we'll. Send it we'll send It To capitol hill.
Right now this is just.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
A bill we're gonna have to bring it to. The
board we got we got a board meeting.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Coming, up bill just a bill At. The, capital hell
remember Those Dum, Dune hey Jewles.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
AND grounk i love, the, show bros keep.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
It, coming hey did you guys ever? Cross Routes because
ron went more off, THE scene I mean jules came across.
The pattern why did ALL, THE x y and uh?
Speaker 4 (32:07):
And slat did you ever?
Speaker 5 (32:09):
Cross pass and did you?
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Ever collide THAT'S what i want.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
To know did you?
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Ever collide we, never collided but we did cross. A
bunch there'd be plays where.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
We cross what was a, Play, called yes there's One
when i'm on, the right you're on, the Left or
i'm on, the left you're on, the right and we
do it was a. CROSS play i think it had cross.
In it but the best example of this One Was
super bowl. FORTY nine i was crossing and you, Were,
crossing julian and we, didn't Collide But richard sherman was,
on YOU and i absolutely Collided Into richard sherman and
(32:38):
we both went flying on the ground and opened. YOU
up i don't think the pass went, to, you though
but that Just shows that's just an example of why
you actually do the crossing routes because it gets the
players to possibly the defenders to possibly run into, each
other and that's how you can get wide open on.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
A route so we crossed plenty.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
OF times i forgot what the play, call was and,
it works, you know that's the whole point of the
play is to get to the fenders mixed up and
the confusion of running all over the field and running into.
Each other but another time we Crossed paths julian on
our routs was when we were into stalls together and
then we started playing SWORDS and i aimed over into
your stall and you aimed over to bying and we were.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Crossing paths.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
You know when that happened on the, night out, you
know when we Were, in UH what i forgot About
that buyer club that was that was called in Uh.
In boston, so yeah plenty of times we. Have crossed
question that's usually a. Man beater we they call.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Those.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Crossers uh there'd be a couple of times where there'd
be like we'd have two over on, this side robib on,
this side and we both go over that and what.
You're doing that's usually a third. Down play when you
know you're giddy, man coverage you put the crossers to
cross against each other to get. Natural, picks now as an,
(33:53):
offensive guy you're not allowed to hit. A defender that's
when you see the flags. Come out but you can
make natural traffic and that usually pops the. Guy open
we've been in a lot. OF those i did collide
Once WITH. Danny a Mondola in dallas on a cross
or IT was, zf CROSS and I remember i think
(34:16):
either it could have been McDaniels or it could Have.
Been bill but they put it up on the low
lights and, they said woll We the keystone cops out
there running into each other on fucking routes like wet
yelled at, For it, but well.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
You guys Are the. Keystone cops you guys did that
priority of.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
The cops the we did we Did. To, keystone yeah
you guys.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
Are great love love that commercial or gig or whatever.
It was it. WAS good i watched it like. Three.

Speaker 3 (35:08):

Speaker 4 (35:09):

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Thank you i'm going with the only GUY that i
played with that's still on The roster i'm pretty Sure Is.
JOE cardona, i mean the guy served. Their country he's
still currently serving our country while he was playing. With
us i'm not sure if he completed all. His tasks
but a guy that does that, to sacrifice, you know,
you know, his time, you know away from, his family
(35:31):
away from, his friends and to play IN the nfl
at the, same time that takes a lot of commitments and,
you know and just.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
To be able to do that duty is.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Something Special So joe cardona was a cool is not
was is a cool ass dude.
Speaker 3 (35:44):

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Right yeah he was having some problems With The. PITTSBURGH
steelers i think he asked for. A trade he like,
walked out, you know during the game. OR something, I
mean i, heard rightfully, SO though I mean i heard
he had some. GOOD reasons i really don't don't want
to get into IT because i truly don't know the
back of, that story but that's the reason why we
got him in the trade for. So cheap and man
did he exploit you know from there on out On
(38:08):
The New. England, PATRIOTS man I love blunt AND like,
I said i'm namord with, big guys, and man he
kind of reminded Me Of, brandon jacobs, you know From
The New. York giants the way that he played and
every time he got, the ball man he, just yeah
he started a little.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
BIT slow i.
Speaker 1 (38:27):

one YEAR For Us julian he had a.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Boat load but he made plays when the team, Needed
it like he was always so good at the end of.
The season remember he had that long kickoff return in
one of the. PLAYOFF games i think He was he
Dominated against indianapolis IN The, afc championship had a bunch,
of yards like he always made a big he was
to tackle and he was. Very slippery people don't realize
(39:02):
like he had some moves for a. Big guy i've
been watching his, Young son REMEMBER. Little lg he's like
he's like. Fully grown now he's where's? He playing he's not. Getting,
recruited yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
He got a full Ride From coach belichick At the
University Of, north carolina which would be super cool to see,
that happening, you know to see.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
That happen, you know hel geezsn GO. To unc him
be a. Tire heel, YOU know i remember m.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Little kid running around messing everyone's. Lockers up now he's
gonna be Playing For. Coach belichick that's is He did

Speaker 1 (39:44):
The offer, BUT man I Love la garrett and if
he watch his highlights when he Was In tampa, BAY

great guy.
Speaker 2 (40:11):

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Also also eighteen touchdowns, as, well brother he had in
twenty eighteen to help our.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Team out and he was.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
The guy he was dominating whatever the the flake, gate
game let's just talk about that. Real quick First to.
Indianapolis coach that's why the flake gate is still so silly.
To me what do you go for like one fifty two?
Hundred yards and he had three or four touchdowns in
that playoff. GAME alone I mean lg was just dominating.
That year he has What Two super bowl rings, as
well two Or Three super bowl rings.

my back, is hurting then my brain is focused on fixing,
my back and then my back is whack and my brain.
Is whack but now it's, all fixed So now i'm good.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
To go i'm telling you we used. To fly he
used to be doing back exercises and shit like he'd
be doing his little exercises and, Stuff, like gronk what are?
You doing he looks like you're doing like a. Booty
thing he's like he's like getting his poses. And show, he's,
Like no i'm working, my. Back, BRO well i.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
Can tell, you this if your booty is, working properly
your back is always feeling good because then your booty
takes a load and you got all those muscles in.
Your booty it's one of the biggest muscle groups in,
the body is. That glue so if your glute, is
active your glute, is firing your back is. Feeling Good,
and jules what's one thing in your life that you
know that you're gonna have to focus on for rest
(43:55):
of your life to? Feel GOOD like i have to
like someone's knee or, someone's shoulder like just, For me
like everything feels great, on me, you know after playing
eleven years IN the nfl and all the college years
in high, school years but my back is it's like
that's ONE thing i have to focus on for the
rest of. My LIFE like i can take a few,
days off but LIKE then i have to do some
rehab for, my BACK and I know i'm gonna have
(44:16):
to do that. For life it's been like That since
i've been in. High school like what's the body part
on you that you have to take A, free well let's.
Speaker 3 (44:24):

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Left shoulder how fucked?
Speaker 3 (44:29):

they shave out your your joint to create some shit
IN that i, don't know and they brace. It down
that's been. Killing Me like i've. Been GOLF anytime, i
golf the, Next day i'll wake up in my shoulder
blade because everything's. Pulling forward my shoulder blade gets, on
(44:49):
fire and then like my left and, right knee my
KNEES are, i got, you know LIKE if I if
i go out and fuck ground my daughter for a,
little while Next day i'll feel my my knee like

the last few years of. My career like the little
(45:14):
Pain that i'm in now like may kill, some people
but for me is like this is this. IS easy
i don't have To PERFORM like i remember being in
such crazy like anxiety type pain that you had to
go perform at a standard where you knew you couldn't get,
to anymore and you were like, In pain like that,
(45:35):
Is pain like NOW that i feel some creaks and
LIKE it i got to warm up my knees and my,
shoulders Sucks like i'm not having to do anything really
So like i'm. It sucks, But, whatever.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Well one, good thing that ONE thing i feel like
that can help fix all that joy in is if
we took a Trip to israel and we went Into
The dead sea and we sat in the dead sea for,
six hours for three. Days straight i'm telling you, RIGHT
now i guarantee all that pain will. Be gone that's de.
Sea heels let's.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Do it we're Going to we'll Go, to israel sitting
the dead sea for, three Days and i'm gonna put
a little note in the in, that wall put a
little note in, that Wall and i'm, gonna say take
care of all. Those injuries.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
That's gonna take away all. The inflammation i'm, telling, you
man that natural healing abilities. OUT there, I mean i
just go in the ocean and takes away a lot of.
My pain it took away my back pain. LAST week
i was only in the ocean for, TEN days i mean,
ten minutes and like it like literally took away like
forty percent of THE inflammation i could just TELL that
i had in.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
MY back i, was, like, oh oh, ALL right i
just got to be in this.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
Ocean longer but we go to that dead sea billions
of pounds. Of salt i'm telling you we'll be. Flying,
lights yeah a couple of cores lights, is right you know?
