Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joe Burrow has been making news at the podium.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Maybe he's thinking about a trade. Maybe he's going to
retire like an Andrew Luck type of path.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
You think he's not going to be a quarterback of
Cincinnati next year.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hey, I'm just dissecting right now.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Welcome to Dudes on Dudes. I'm Julian Edelman.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
And I'm Rob Gronkowski.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
And this is the show where your favorite dudes get
to talk about their favorite dudes.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
And it's cream season, baby, and we've got a great
episode coming up. And if you haven't already, drop a like,
subscribe and hit the bell to be notified every time
we drop a new episode.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Let's Go. Dudes on Dudes is a production of iHeartRadio.
Robbie G. Where are you at, y'ah?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
What's up man? I'm home in my crib in Florida,
heading back out with a double header Saturday and Sunday
out to LA this week. Love that we got NFL
games on Saturday. Now, it's the only Saturday of the
year where we have it. You know, once Bull seasons starts, boom,
NFL picks right up and you know, put some games
on Saturday because the NFL smart their money makers or
know what they're doing. They know how to spread out

(01:07):
all their games so people watch them, tune in, so
the sponsorships, you know, are at top peak as well.
So I just can't believe as well that there's three
weeks left in the regular season. I mean, it's it's
kind of like the time where you're like, uh, what
are playoffs gonna start? Like, we need to amp this
up a little bit. We need meaningful football because there's
a lot of games now Jewels that just aren't that meaningful.

(01:30):
And when it's just fir into this season, it kind
of gets a little boring when you're watching those not
meaningful games. So we need playoffs to ramp up. But
we gotta finish strong as well. Three weeks left, it's
almost playoff time. Happy Honikah Julian's Day, Thank you. I
appreciate that as well. And think what five days in
the Hankkah. Four days in the Hanukkah.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It'll be tonight tomorrow right now, last night was four,
Tonight is five tomorrow, we'll be six. So Friday, by
the time this comes out, there will be five candles
lit going on to yes.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
There will be so happy Hanukkah Jewles. Hopefully you've been
celebrating with the family. Hey, love your family, by the way,
Mama Jewels, you know, Papa Papa uh not Mama jeweles
uh and Papa Edels. I mean, let me tell you
they're great. Man. I love your parents. They're so fun

(02:31):
to be around. You know, they represent great people. No
wonder why you came out to be such a fine gentleman,
Julian because his parents wonderful and.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Uh and friendly.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yes, So shout out to Angie and Frank and now
first up Jewels. A lot went down around the league
this weekend. So let's take a look at some of
these wild headlines that caught our eyes. Like these eyes,
these are some special eyes. I got this. So this
is it's time for another edition of.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Dude News News all right. Joe Burrow has been making
news at the podium Before their blowout loss last week
in Baltimore, Joe Burrow took the podium and said, yeah,
if I want to keep doing this, I have I
have to have fun doing this. I've been through a lot.

(03:25):
It's not fun, then what am I doing it for?
If it's not fun? What am I doing? That is
a that's a powerful deep thought statement. Is that that
was that vulnerability at the podium right there? Roberto?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
It really is, And then I kind of would say
it kind of.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Explaining about you, Joe. We hope that it turns around
in some form or fashion for you because you're too
fun to watch. And just keep grinding away, buddy, Just
keep grinding away. We'll be right back after this quick break.
Did you see this Cam new Newton rant On Coleman,
the receiver for the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
No, I have not joined to dissect what happened and
what he says, so then I can dissect it as well.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Let's see what he says right here. Let's watch it, folks.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Ain't gonna keep being patient with you.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
That playful person that the Buffalo City by storm in
his first interview and he sat down and was like, yeah,
I love cookies, and he had to do.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
You look good. But majority of the time, if your
mind isn't in the game, if your mind isn't there
all week, you're never going to perform that Sunday coming up.
And it feels like that's what happened to the Cincinnati
Bengals here and Joe Burrow has been through a lot.
I mean, I would say that injuries have to do
with it as well. Also the Cincinnati Bengals organization their

(04:47):
defense a little bit. But you know, at the same
time you're getting injured, that's like, you know, like that's
not really anyone else's fault. You know, you can't really,
you know, blame anyone, like with the injuries that he
has had. You got to take care of your body more.
You know. I've just been around a quarterback that took
care of his body so much, so the expectations are

(05:10):
just so high for me for other quarterbacks to do
the same thing. And on top of it, he's got
great wide receivers around him, I mean, one of the
best in the league, Jamar Chase, you know, and te Hagen. So,
I mean, it's a tough situation here. And it's true though,
if you're not having fun, it does suck out there
to be playing in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Well, he was back at it yesterday too, he was
on the podium and he says, you think about a
lot of things. That's the quote right now, You think
about a lot of things, Gronk, what kind of things
do you think about?

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Well, I'm going to dissect that one a little bit.
You know, when I'm out on the field, I'm going
to dissect what he's thinking about. Maybe he's thinking about
a trade, maybe he's thinking about going to the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
And he was like one of the craziest linebackers in
our league exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
That's what you got to do. And with Keon Coleman, Yeah,
he had some times where oh he's flashy, you know,
he's gonna be great, but then it's just been falling
off and falling off, and now he's inactive for games
and all that stuff, and you know that's when everyone's
gonna come at you because they remember you being loud
from the beginning. That's why I always say to these rookies,

(06:21):
hey be humble, Be as humble as possible, and gain
the respect of your teammates and then you can go
from there.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Well, people don't realize when you're a first round draft pick.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Like he was a second round I'm pretty sure I
think he was the first pick in the second round.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
He was first pick in the second round. Yes, well,
they've got high draft capital and they've they've needed him,
you know what I mean. And this is serious. There's
people's livelihood relying on your performance. Everyone in Buffalo, although organization,
the players, the coach is, the GM, the wait staff,

(06:59):
the cleaning people, the freaking people that are in the cafeteria.
That it only goes if you guys win. And if
they're gonna invest that much draft capital into a guy,
he's got to get it going. So I think Cam's
just trying to put a spark under his ass.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yes, and it's not too late either. There's a couple
of weeks left in the season. There's playoffs as well.
Heks off because this isn't fun. That's the worst situation
to ever be in when you're in the NFL. You know,
it really really is. It has happened to me before,
and it would be sad to see if Joe or here,
if Joe burrows at that level because he's so young still,

(07:36):
he's in his twenties. That usually happens to skill players later,
like in their later twenties and early thirties.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Yeah, I think this is a combination of losing and
being hurt. Only time I've ever not had fun at
football is when I'm not feeling good. But I also
was always on a winning team, you know, so like
it's it's hard to understand because, like I remember, if
we lost like one game, god forbid. I don't know

(08:06):
how many times we lost two in a row, but
there was a couple like that felt like the worst
feeling in the history of life. And to have that
for three years where he's not even gonna play in
the playoffs. He's been banged up a lot every offseason
starts to feel like Groundhog's Day, where you go in
and you have to rehab for something, go back to

(08:29):
a crappy team. Like that's hard for an athlete, especially
a high performing competitor like Joe Burrow. But you know,
you look into this, the team's done everything he's wanted.
He signed both receivers. You know, when you sign when
you have three of the highest paid guys on offense,

(08:53):
you know, I don't know where Higgins lies in there,
but they're eating up us a lot of that cap.
There's not gonna be a lot of other players. And
so it's one of those things where maybe Cincinnati shouldn't
listen to him, and maybe they should listen to a
professional that runs football team that knows how to win

(09:14):
football games, Like that's why players play that's why coaches coach,
that's why gms should be GM. And but like, we're
not in that building. We don't know how it is
over in Cincinnati. From everything that I hear, they don't
know how to win. So, you know, that's a I
feel like he's in he's stuck in between a rock

(09:35):
and a hard place right now, and it sucks because
he's such a talented football player that we all love
watching play. But man, he doesn't sound like he's having fun.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I would say the main factor to those quotes, The
main factor where this has led to is the ability
of the Cincinnati Bengals not winning and I'm saying not
winning on a consistent basis over the last few years. Yeah,
if you know, they went to the playoffs last year,
they had a great run, and then three years exactly,

(10:10):
if it's just a down year this year, we'd say
they went to the playoffs last year, Well, then there
would be hope, Oh it's just a down year. You know,
next year, we're gonna rebuild. We're gonna come back next year.
But now it's three years in a row, and that's
I would say, is what's truly weighing, you know on
Joe Burrow here with these quotes and it not being
fun anymore, and he must not see in the future

(10:32):
as well. He must be projecting that things aren't really
gonna change either, because if you have that hope and
optimistic you know that things are going to change and
you can see it within the organization, well then you
wouldn't be saying this either. And you're gonna be already
looking forward to next year and knowing that you're going
to have a winning team next year. So he must
not see this organization winning next year at all either.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Well, we're thinking about you, Joe. We hope that it
turns around in some form or fashion for you because
you're too fun to watch. And just keep grinding away, buddy,
just keep grinding away. We'll be right back after this
quick break. Did you see this Cam Newton rant On Coleman,

(11:14):
the receiver for the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
No, I have not put it off. Dissect what happened
and what he says, so then I can dissect it
as well.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Let's see what he says right here. Let's watch it, folks.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Ain't gonna keep being patient with you, that playful person
that the Buffalo City by Storm in his first interview
and he sat down and was.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Like, yeah, I love cookies and he had to.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
That was all cool, but we get that Chris to
young players, big dog, you're supposed to be our number one.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Come on and you're playing like a bum. I bet
you better start doing your job, y'all. Y'all. By the way, man,
I of when Cam Newton gets on a rant and
this is his podcast right fourth and one, that he
goes on this rant. Man, I love just just how

(12:09):
characteristic you know, he gets an animated, he gets as well,
and just the way he says it and expresses himself.
You know, he makes me laugh and I enjoy I've
seen he makes me laugh about It's true. Yeah, and yep,
one hundred percent this is true. One hundred percent is true.
You know he went into this organization, you know, uh

(12:29):
at the beginning, at the beginning when he was drafted
as a rookie and he kind of you know, put
himself out there like you know, like hey, I'm going
to be this and I'm going to be that, and
like you know, it's nothing.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
All that, which nothing's wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
If you got to get up you have there you go.
Juels you have to back it up if you're going
to be loud, you know, right from the get go.
Like when I got drafted by the New England Patriots.
I who in Harah on the stage with my brothers
and all that. But what did I do. I came
into organization and I earned my respect and then I
shut up.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
You came in in the first game and fucking Laronitis
you stiffed armed under the ground and he was like
one of the craziest linebackers. Ain't on the ground and
he looks back and he just goes like this.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
That I was going to bring that one up as well.
That was versus Pittsburgh Steelers. Up the scene. I caught
it for like twenty five yards, got tackled and I
was laying on I couldn't wait to talk about this one.
Since we were talking about first down celebrations. I literally
was laughing when I was on the ground. I signaled
the first down signal while on the ground. Dude, I

(13:41):
was laughing. I'm telling you, I was giggling to myself.
First off, dude, I wish I could go back to
football just so I could do this one again.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
This makes me happy, man, This one makes.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Me happy capital and they've needed them, you know what
I mean? And this is serious. There's people's life relying
on your performance. Everyone in Buffalo, all the organization, the players,
the coaches, the GM the wait staff, the cleaning people,
the freaking people that are in the cafeteria. That it

(14:16):
only goes if you guys win. And if they're gonna
invest that much draft capital into a guy, he's got
to get it going. So I think Cam's just trying
to put a spark under his ass.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yes, and it's not too late either. There's there's a
couple of weeks left in the season, there's playoffs as well.
He can he can, you know, take his game to
the next level. You know, he can learn from everything
that's going.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
On on to a live stream Aiden Ross. He goes
on to Aiden Ross's live stream, and Aiden Ross is
a huge streamer. I think we've we met him over
at the YouTube upfronts. I believe something like that, Yes,
But and Fanatics Fest and he goes he asked about

(14:58):
the refs. Puka goes the the refs are the worst.
They want to be on TV too. You don't think
he's texting his friends in his group chat like, Yo,
you guys saw me on Sunday night football that was
That wasn't p I, but I called it trying to
get TV.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Time, Okay, Pooka calling out the refs. Uh Joels, this
is a I mean, it's always a home run out
of the park and then what a scoop of vanilla
ice cream right on this side. I love a little favor, yes,
and then you got and then it's a toss up
after that. I mean, I like Amian nuts.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Throw in there, in there, yes, Oreos chocolate chap, but
I mean it's Oreo cookie.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
It's technically not a cookie. It's an Oreo like a
cookie is like a cookie that you got bacon.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
I think it says it's like the best dipping dipping
cookie in the history of cookie.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I don't really consider you.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Think it is Biskey British.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Yeahwe bro Yes, it's just its own category. Jewels. It's
not a cookie. You've got to bake a cookie, you know,
like Oreos don't aren't made at home. Oreos are made
from the Oreo factory. You know you can make I mean, yeah,
technically you can, but like, who's ever made an Oreo
at home? I never really heard anyone doing that.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I got a hot take. I love oatmeal. I love
oatmeal cookies. Those are delicious as well, and like what's
great oatmeal raising? I like oatmeal chocolate chip. I like
oatmeal cookies. I love them.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
And oatmeal cookies are like, are like tricking your mind
as well. You're like, oh, it's oatmeal, Like I'm eating
a healthy cookie. It's good for me. I mean even
though there's tons of sugar in every and flour in it. Still,
but it tricks you. That's why oatmeal cookies are a
great go to to the organization. You got to deal
with a head coach, a GM and owner, your teammates.
There's so much more to it. So just watch out

(16:56):
what you say. I'm not saying don't go on these
you know streams, but just watch out, you know, and
just be particular in what you say to because in
the end, it starts affecting your play when you keep
making headlines, because it's just a distraction. I'm not saying
he did anything wrong here. He may be right and
he's just being funny, but just watch out. What's all,

(17:17):
I'm just giving you some advice to just be clean
out there be clean brother.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Because we don't want to see them come after your pockets,
Bubby exactly.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
We want you to have all your money BOOKA.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
We'll be right back after this quick break.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Your friends would be making fun of you, like you
pick your nose and you eat your boogers. That's so gross.
But even though they would go home and pick their
nose and fling their boogers all over the place, it
was just a reason to make fun of your friends.
But the kids are going to catch on with this one,
and I got to give them credit. You know, this celebration,
this first down celebration. It makes sense as well because

(17:53):
when you flick your booger, it's like you're flicking you know,
your your two fingers and signaling a first down. So
it's pretty creative. You gotta get him some credit.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
And it's smooth, you know who. There's some other cool
first down celebrations. I love Kittle's little three thing he does.
Have you seen them do that? Or nah? He does
like a first down where he like he does like
a three finger first down, which is kind of funny.
Ceedee Lamb does the nose thing where he does like

(18:23):
the little nose thing to the first down. Have you
seen that one? Or they do?

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Like, have not seen that? Nah, I haven't, Jules.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I mean the news the first down celebration is basically
like a new touchdown celebration.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
I mean the first down celebration is classic and you
can do more of them as well. I think it's
over the oh oh, I've seen that one by the
ball Yeah yeah, the ball oh all yeah. I think
I love it. I think he's great. But a first
down celebration here we go. A touchdown celebration can be
like more dramatic, meaning like it's allowed to be like

(18:57):
five six seconds song. If you're doing a first down
celebration that isn't quick, that is lasting more than a second,
then you should not be doing a first down celebration
because it's just got to be quick. Burger flick the
burger quick. Yeah, the kiddle one. Actually, I have seen
that now that you're pulling at little thing yep, that's
like that's a quick one. You gotta do that this quick.

(19:20):
That's quick.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Got a new rule in the first down celebration can't
be more than four second, three seconds, no, two seconds.
Gotta be quick like the booger pick is boom.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Yeah, It's kind of like, is this is exactly what
it's like. It's hitting a three point shot in basketball
and they do their little you know, three point celebration.
That's super quick while they're getting back on defense. That's
the same thing with the first down.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
So you got to get back to the huddle. There's
only forty how many seconds was it forty seconds to
the next play. Let's go get back at the huddle.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
And you gotta do it at the right time too.
If you're down by a lot, no first.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Down, no first down please, And if it's two minutes trail,
absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
No hand the ball to the official. But I'm digging
these first downs. I used to be a just straight
like I did a couple like uh. I liked like
almost like a seminole. Oh hard one. I remember Rob
had a great first down signal where he he was

(20:22):
lying on the ground and he looks back and he
just goes like this. That was funny.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
I was gonna bring that one up as well. That
was versus Pittsburgh Steelers. Up the scene. I caught it
for like twenty five yards, got tackled and I was
laying on the I couldn't wait to talk about this
one since we were talking about first down celebrations. I
literally was laughing when I was on the ground. I
signaled the first down signal while on the ground, dude,
but I was laughing. I'm telling you, I was giggling

(20:54):
to myself. First dude. I wish I could go back
to football just so I could do this one again. Bro,
this makes me happy, man, This one makes me happy.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
This, this I can't believe has not gone like more viral.
It needs to go more viral because this celebration was awesome.
Oh man, oh my god, I love it. Look at
that man, Oh just the picture of it on pause
just looks like our.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
All right, let's move on. Let's move on the next
thing we got to talk about that hit the dude
news airwaves or a dude news headline, what's up with
our Puka? And all these hot takes on his live streams?
My guy, you hear what he's.

Speaker 4 (21:44):
Talking about without the NFL rep Joe's I've been out
of it the last couple of days.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
So it goes on to a live stream, Aiden Ross.
He goes on to Aiden Ross's live stream, and Aiden
Ross is a huge streamer. I think we've we met
him over at the YouTube upfronts. I believe something like that. Yes,
but that fanatics Fest and Fanatics Fest, and he goes

(22:09):
he asked about the refs, Puka goes the worst. The
refs are the worst. They want to be on TV too.
You don't think he's texting his friends in his group
chat like, Yo, you guys saw me on Sunday Night Football.
That was That wasn't p I but I called it
trying to get TV.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Time, Okay, Pooka calling out the refs. Juels. This is
a tough situation, especially saying as a player, because you're
really not allowed to express frust rawl team. I mean,
it's just because of how tough the NFC is this
year and how tough that division is, and with the
forty nine ers just playing spectacular. I mean they probably

(22:48):
have Coach of the Year and Kyle Shanninghan that's who's
screwing the the Detroit Lions from getting in the playoffs.
No one should have expected the forty nine ers they
have such a great season with all these injuries. So
I would say the Lions are not skim milk, but
they're about one percent two percent. That just isn't going
to make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
And then it's tough I'm going to go with that too.
And then in the Cowboys, I mean their skim milk,
it's just I think during their turning pro process, the
turning process where you're pumping the milk in the cream
like they got lost.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
I mean, it's how you represent yourself off the field.
Sometimes it relates to how you play, you know, on
the field as well. But here's another advice. You know,
Aiden Ross great, you know YouTuber streamer, but like you
can't go on these you know streams with YouTubers that
just represent themselves. There's no repercussion of what they say

(23:44):
because they're their own boss Puka. So when you go
on these channels and you're getting interviewed, they're going to
try to instigate you as well to say, you know,
controversial stuff because they don't understand what it's like. The
fallback news as well, the fallback of it all when
you have to go back to the organization. You got
to deal with a head coach, a GM and owner,

(24:05):
your teammates. There's so much more to it. So just
watch out what you say. I'm not saying. Don't go
on these you know streams. But just watch out, you know,
and just be particular in what you say to because
in the end it starts affecting your play when you
keep making headlines, because it's just a distraction. I'm not
saying he did anything wrong here. He may be right

(24:26):
and he's just being funny. But just watch out. What's all.
I'm just giving you some advice to just be clean
out there, be clean.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Brother, because we don't want to see them come after
your pockets.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Bubby exactly. We want you to have all your money, Buka.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
We'll be right back after this quick break. All right, Well,
it's the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas. No
hanakhah no us talking about cream season? Yes, it is
cream season. Power rankings time. Should we jump into it?
Let's jump into it.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Wait, wait, time out, juice, what is cream season? Can
you please explain to everyone out there?

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Well, cream season? You know, for the people out there
that know anything about milking a cow, know anything about
milking the cow. When you milk the cow, you turn
the milk. The good cream rises to the top. The
good milk rises to the top. And I use it
metaphorically speaking about the national football League National Football League

(25:30):
on the best teams rising to the top at a
certain point of the year, usually a week or two
after Thanksgiving. And a cream team is a team that
I think will be a team that will vie for
a super Bowl. Playoff teams could be a cream teams,
teams that are you have to be in the playoffs
to be a cream team. And then what do they

(25:53):
do with the best cream?

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Rob Oh, oh, they take the best cream and oh,
I know.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Jules, they make it into butter, and and and they
make it into butter. And usually the conference championship teams
are butter teams. And that's what cream season and butter
teams are. Should we should we put a list together?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Yeah, let's get into it. Let's let's see who.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
We also have the teams, the cream of the cream teams.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
And also let's see if there's any spoiled milk out there.
You know, there's always cream, you know, creams made of milk.
And you know, when you always have that much of
a supply, there's always going to be something that's spoiled
a little bit. You left it in the refrigerator a
little bit too long, you went for a vacation and
you came back and the milk is spoiled. So we
got to get into those teams as well.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Or maybe these are skim milk teams. Yeah, there's no
ain't no fat.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
There ain't no fat. What makes the milkshake taste all
dozed over? Yeah, you got you gotta have home oh
with some vitamin D.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
You know, maybe two percent works as well.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
But you can say this, Mury. You can say this
in almond milk as well. The almond milk with the
sugar tastes better. The almond milk without the sugar doesn't
taste as good. It's the thirty calorry almond milk. So
if you're almond milk, head out there, jump on, jump
on the wagon. Okay, it's cream season, so let's jump
into this skim milk teams out of the AFC teams

(27:20):
that are probably not gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Oh oh, probably not gonna make the playoffs. All right,
it's easy. I'm gonna go with the Baltimore Ravens. They're
definitely skim milk this year. I mean, I lost that
loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago kind of,
you know, showed who they are this year. You know,
they kind of went on a little hot streak to
get back to where they needed to get back to,

(27:45):
and now they're back to that little cold streak. You know.
But the Baltimore Ravens they just don't have it this year.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
You know, Well they better they better continue that cold
streak this weekend against the Patriots. Holy shmoy. Yeah, they
go out and beat the Pats this week. That's not good.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, I agree. I gotta say they skim milk. But
if they do beat the Patriots, they're going to rise
to about one percent or two percent right now jewels
after if they can pull that off.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
And I also think I think the Colts are a
skim milk team, the Colts, and it's only because they
lost a lot of their they're fat the players they've lost.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yes, that is a great point, and so they're very
very similar. So Patriots belong as a cream team. They've
been dominating. They had the ten game win streak. It
was sad to see them let go of that twenty
one point lead versus the Buffalo Bills last week. You know,
And what that shows is that you know, at any

(28:46):
time they can collapse now and at any time you know,
it gives confidence to other teams that they can make
a comeback in the Patriots can't close the door even
though you know they're up by twenty one. That of
what is exploits them just a little bit. Yeah, it
could have been a flute game. But overall the Patriots
ira cream team. They played great football, you know, on

(29:08):
offensive side of the ball, with no you know, not
many turn on. The Colts just don't have that fat
to them anymore, and they just don't have that power
to them because of all the injuries that has happened
to them. I don't think they can text catch up
to the Texans either, who are in their division. So
I think Ravens, Colts skim milk. They're out of the playoffs.

(29:28):
Now the NFC, let's talk about the skim milk skim
milk teams here. That was the AFC with the Ravens
and Colts and now with the NFC. Oh, I mean,
the NFC is so powerful right now, Like you don't
even want to call the Lions skim milk. Like they're
eight and six. They got a pretty solid team. I'm
going to say this, the Lions aren't going to make
the playoffs, which is very sad. I had them as

(29:50):
my Super Bowl team. I mean, it's just because of
how tough the NFC is this year and how tough
that division is, and with the forty nine ers just
playing spectacular, I mean they probably have Coach of the
Year and Kyle Shanninghan that's who's screwing the the Detroit
Lions for getting in the playoffs. No one should have
expected the forty nine ers that have such a great
season with all these injuries. So I would say the

(30:11):
Lions are not skim milk, but they're about one percent
two percent that just isn't gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
And then it's tough. I'm going to go with that too.
And then in the Cowboys, I mean their skim milk,
it's just I think during their turning pro process, the
churning process, where there you're pumping the milk and the cream,
like they got lost in some shit because they got
some fat in there. They you know, they they feel

(30:38):
like a creamy kind of team, but you got to
do it consistently, and they haven't. Those two you know,
they had a gauntlet of games where they go and
they beat freaking the Chiefs Philadelphia, and then they lose
to the Lions, who were coming off a loss like

(31:00):
that one.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
That was it.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
And then you lose to Minnesota last weekend. You can't
be a cream team and lose this time, this late
in the season.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
So exactly. And then I also got the Panthers as
some skim milk as well. But it's a tricky one
here because it's between like the Panthers and Buccaneers. The
Buccaneers have showed that they are skim milk as well.
They lost a lot of fat to their roster. You know,
I would say due to the injuries. But now the
players are back and they're still not performing the way
that they should be performing. The skim milk. I'm just

(31:32):
saying they're they're dipping in the skim milk and then
they're going back to two percent. But I think the
Buccaneers do pull it off. You know, they got to
play the Panthers. It's it's basically determined. They control their faith,
the Panthers and the Buccaneers, who they play each other
two out of the three games twice, so it's who
can beat down, you know, each other. It's basically playoff

(31:53):
games from here on exactly. I think the Buccaneers do
pull it off and go to the playoffs, and the
Panthers become a skim milk team, you know, so and
don't make the playoffs here all right, let's and that's
what's great. There is some meaningful football, and it's to
you know, to get the seating, you know, and buying
for a playoff spot. But it's not for every team.

(32:14):
So the meaningful football games are great. And the Texans
and Jaguars will be playing meaningful football because they got to,
you know, try to win their division and get good seating.
But the Texans, man, at first, I was like, man,
I thought they were going to win their division. This
team is awful. And then all of a sudden, JE
was like, you said, they morphed into like some super
power team. And this defense has just become phenomenal. They

(32:35):
have an unbelievable pass rush, which is the heart and
soul of their defense.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
I mean, they got great corners last year, but we
got a great what's their safety is probably.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
One of the best, Yeah, great, pi Will.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
I think the Niners are one of the cream teams
from the NFC. We'll do three cream teams.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, Another cream team is the Chicago Bears. I mean
with Caleb Williams, Ben Jonson and as their head coach,
I mean, they've turned it around there. It's a spectacular
team this year. They're ten and four right now. What
they're doing on the offense side of the ball, they
got a balance attack, they got a pretty solid run game,
they got a one two punch that is one of
the best in the NFL with their running backs, and
then Caleb Williams off the play action as well. It's

(33:18):
opening it up a lot there. Loveland, their tight end,
who's a rookie, you know, first round pick, top ten
I believe, top ten pick to the Chicago Bears. He's coming,
you know through as a player as well. He's understanding
what the NFL is all about. He's understanding the playbook.
And then the Bears, you know, they got one of
the best defenses in the league that complements the offense tremendously.

(33:39):
So a solid team overall. I just think they have
a little bit of, you know, inexperience still, you know,
at Ben Johnson's first year head coach. When it gets
deep into it, you know, I'm not sure if they're
going to come out, you know, as as victorious as
they've been throughout the regular season. But they're definitely a
cream team, and they prove that all year long with

(34:00):
the competition that they've been going versus.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
A defense leads the leading takeaways, but there is a
lot of holes in that defense, and they got to
be able to win with a pass play and a
must pass situation. We haven't seen that yet, but I
do believe they're a cream team as well. Another cream
team last one cream what is like, Yeah, this is
kind of Frenchy, but.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
We're calling it. We're calling a butter crumbler because he's
a butter teams. But uh, one percent teams. Two percent
teams is like the Bills, the Chargers, the Steelers like
they go with the skim milk sometimes are at home,
You don't.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
We're just sure our cream team.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I think there are a two percent team. They've shown
that they're a cream team at some points, but they've
also shown that they're a skim belt team. So those
like the Bills charging the team, it doesn't matter. A
cream team someone that's been dominating out there and and
overcoming obstacles. The Bills really haven't overcome too many options
as I.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Mean, defense had to bail them out. Could barely beat
a forty four year old Philip Rivers, which not taking
anything away from the Colts, but that's crazy, so he
needs to get it going. But they are a cream team.
Let's jump over the AFC oh NFC cream teams.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Oh ok, right, We'll start with the Patriots. I mean,
they're kind of like the Chicago Bears. It's kind of
hard to argue, like who had the better turnaround from
being one of the worst teams in the NFL to
now one of the best teams in the NFL. And
it's hilarious because they're both in second place in their
conference as well, and they both have rookie head coaches,
and they both have quarterbacks that were drafted, you know,

(35:39):
in the same year. So they're very, very similar. So
Patriots belong as a cream team. They've been dominating. They
had the ten game win streak. It was sad to
see them let go of that twenty one point lead
versus the Buffalo Bills last week. You know, and what
that shows is that you know, at any time they
can collapse now and at any time, you know, it

(36:03):
gives confidence to other teams that they can make a
comeback in. The Patriots can't close the door even though
you know they're up by twenty one. That kind of
what exploits them just a little bit. Yeah, it could
have been a flute game. But overall, the Patriots are
cream team. They played great football, you know, on offensive
side of the ball, with no you know, not many turnovers.

(36:24):
That's you know, it's part of their strategy. Hey, don't
make mistakes.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Let the other recording the day before the game. Let's
jump over to the cream team for the AFC or
the butter team for the AFC. Let's go to Bronx.
We gotta go with the Broncos, right.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
No, I mean, no doubt about it. They proved it
last week. I would be up in the air if
the Broncos were a butter team. You know. But after
they beat the Green Bay Packers, their offense came through
from them. They stopped them on the Knicks side of
the ball. Bone Knicks showed that he can handle.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Is that a Bonnicks breakout game?

Speaker 2 (36:56):
I mean, I would say it was a Bonnicks breakout
game with pressure on the line versus a very solid defense.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Well, just it was the first time you saw like
Bo throw like seam routes and throw the ball down
the field, and they got him protected once Mica game stretch.
So get healthy and this could be a good test
for them. Look, that was a good recalibration to show
each one of these players that ten game winning streaks

(37:25):
aren't just you know, outside on the tree. You can't
just go pick those. This game needs urgency. Every play
from here on out is important. And that's what that
loss could have done for them because they played well
in the first half. Shit, they're blown them out. It
just you ran out of depth, You ran out of
plays because guys are hurt, and Josh Allen was Josh Allen.

(37:49):
Let's go into another cream team for the AFC. I
think the Jaguars are a cream team. Trevor Lawrence is
playing the best we've ever seen Trevor Lawrence play five touchdowns,
throwing one, running fifty yards rushing. This is what we
envisioned of Trevor Lawrence when he came out from Clemson.

(38:11):
He was like the most hyped quarterback I can remember
since Andrew Luck. When it came to his like his tangibles,
his height, strength, you know, his hands, size, his throwing ability,
how he could run the football, and we're starting to
see it. Liam Cohen has that team rolling and that
defense is sneaky, really good. I think they're second in takeaways,

(38:33):
so like they have a really good team. Etn is
a good ballplayer. Jacobe Myers sure at an organization. He
did it in New Orleans and now he's doing it
in Denver. And you see how he's doing it as well.
He went and got his quarterback that he needed.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
He's got Boone Knicks in charge, and he gets the
players to play up to the standard that he needs
them to play. And that's how he creates a winning organization,
winning football program is by changing the culture and he
brings that culture to the table. Sean Payton is the
real deal and he's proven it once again.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
It's it's pretty cool too because he's got old school
coach vibes where he's you could tell that he rips him.
You know, he's not all about like you know, this
whole collaborative this that like you could tell Sean Payton's
an old school coach that has evolved to the newer
player but still has old old school coach fundamentals. I

(39:31):
feel That's what I feel at least.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yes, you gotta evolve as well. I mean, especially when
you've been around that long and you can't just be
the old school a way anymore. You know, players changed, attitude, changes,
the way the NFL works, the way these rookies work now,
the young bucks work. I mean, you got to be
able to evolve. And he has done a spectacular job
doing that to staying hip and staying with it, you know,

(39:53):
with the young guys and knowing how to coach them,
still in an old school way, but in the new
school era.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
And I still can't get that video out of him
taking the huge bond rip with his what is his
son of the crop, you know, as a GM.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
And we saw that when we were in New England
when he was basically I don't even know his title
in New England. I don't know anyone's title when they
were at everything, but he worked basically at everything. He's
kind of all buttered GM, I would say, literally proving it.
I would say so right, Like he's kind of proven
it too because he went to the Texans when they
were like you know, if he and he's been just

(40:29):
producing talent and picking guys and creating and building a
team like like phenomenal. He's doing a great job. They
got to get c J.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Stroud continually progressing. Played well last week, he played pretty
decent the week before that. They're on a great win streaker.
I know it was a five games, four games, but like, yeah,
they've been doing. If CJ. Stroud and Kaylee our old coach,
can come together and continue to get better and better,

(41:00):
they're going to be really scary. Let's jump in. Let's
jump in to the butter teams. Now, all the other
teams that we didn't say that we're in, they're all
cream teams. We just didn't highlight them. No, no, no,
they're not cream teams. They're like one percent two percent milk.
So cream teams are whole milk. How it works the

(41:21):
butter and we'll pick one from each division. Are the
conference that we think is the is the cream of
the the cream? What is like, Yeah, this is kind
of sounds frenchy cumber, but we're calling it. We're calling
a butter creumber because he's a buttered teams. But uh,

(41:44):
one percent teams two percent teams is like the Bills,
the Chargers, the Steelers, like they go with the skim
milk sometimes are at whole milk. You don't see, we're
just sure our cream team.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
I think there are two percent team. They've shown that
they're a cream team at some points, but they've also
shown that they're a skim milk team. So those like
the Bills charging it doesn't matter. A cream team someone
that's been dominating out there and overcoming obstacles. The Bills
really haven't overcome too many obstacles.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
I mean, you know, we're come a really bad defense. Yeah,
I mean four every they've given up thirty points four
times and they're four known those games.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
They should just give them thirty points every game. Then
that is nuts, all right. It must trigger Josh Allen like,
oh my gosh, our defense is playing terrible today, Like
I got to step it up. Like sometimes that trigger
and be sometimes I'm like, oh my gosh, we're only
going to win this game if I ball out. So
then boom, I got a ball out.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
We exactly. So who's who's our butter team for the
NFC teams?

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Okay, yeah, this is easy. It's the Los Angeles Rams,
Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay, po, Nicol Davante Adams. They got
a great defense. They've just done a great job building
this team. They're just like the football team, you know,
all across the board, like the Los Angeles Rams are bought.

Speaker 5 (43:03):
Is the butter team of the NFC Jewels, I agree,
And they get a lot of pressure with Verse and
who's that other, uh Turner maybe Kobe Turner, Vers Young
and Fisk.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
They can get after the quarterback. They may not get sacks,
but they put a lot of pressure on the quarterback.
They do have a hole in the secondary. Their secondary
isn't the greatest. They give up big plays. But if
they play complimentary football, they're just They're just super strong.
It's gonna be interesting to see how they handle not
having Devonte Adams if he doesn't go tonight, which we're

(43:40):
recording the day before the game. Let's jump over to
the cream team for the AFC or the butter team
for the AFC. Let's go to the Bronx. We gotta
go with the Broncos, right, No.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
I mean no doubt about it. They proved it last week.
I would be up in the air if the Broncos
were a butter team, you know. But after they beat
the Green Bay packers or offense came through from they
stopped them on the bon Nicks by the ball. Bone
Knicks showed that he can have.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Is that a Bonnicks breakout game?

Speaker 2 (44:08):
I mean, I would say it was a Bonnicks breakout
game with the pressure on the line versus a very
solid defense.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
Well, just it was the first time you saw like
Bow throw like steam routes and throw the ball down
the field. And they got him protected. Once Mica got
you know, banged up or hurt whatever Micah happened, they
were able to protect Bow and he was able to
dissect that defense. He had a couple of touchdown passes
that we haven't seen him throw like in his career yet.

(44:36):
And then also, you know, we're so accustomed to see
this team winning in the fourth quarter. It was good
to see them kind of get it going earlier in
the game. You know, bo Nicks, if he plays well,
they have a defense that's really good with Bonito and
Cooper and Allen on that D line. You got Patrick Surtain,
you got Hufanga in the second area as well. They

(45:00):
got ballplayers. If they can continue it. Man, Sean Payton,
what a fucking joker, this guy, This guy cut Russell
Wilson had a trillion dollars on the cap. That was
dead money, and now he's about to be potentially the

(45:20):
one seed in the AFC with three weeks to go.
That's that's impressive.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yes, yes, Sean Verry, I was gonna say shot, Yeah,
Sean Payton. I get them confused. They're both great coaches,
so if you get a computers it's understandable. But Sean Payton,
you know, is a culture changer. He did it in
New Orleans. He's known for his offensive skill set and
his offensive knowledge, but jewels, he should really be known

(45:49):
for how he changes the culture at an organization. He
did it in New Orleans and now he's doing it
in Denver. And you see how he's doing it as well.
He went and got his quarterback that he needed. He's
got bone Knicks in charge, and he gets the players
to play up to the standard that he needs them
to play. And that's how he creates a winning organization

(46:12):
in a winning football program is by changing the culture
and he brings that culture to the table. Sean Payton
is the real deal and he's proven it once again.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
It's pretty cool too, because he's got old school coach
vibes where he's you could tell that he rips them,
you know, he's not all about like you know, this
whole collaborative this that like you could tell Sean Payton's
an old school coach that has evolved to the newer
player but still has old old school coach fundamentals. I feel,

(46:43):
That's what I feel.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
At least. Yes, you gotta evolve as well. I mean,
especially when you've been around that long and you can't
just be the old school a way anymore. You know,
players change, attitude, changes, the way the NFL works, the
way these rookies work now, the young bucks work. I mean,
you gotta be a evolving He has done a spectacular
job doing that, to staying hip and staying with it,

(47:05):
you know, with the young guys and knowing how to
coach them, still in an old school way, but in
the new school era.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
And I still can't get that video out of him
taking the huge bond rip with his what is his
his son? What a fucking savage. All right, let's go
over our skim milk teams, cream teams and buttered teams.
We have our skim milk teams. Oh categories, last four teams.
They're they're like one two percent teams. They're they're they're

(47:34):
like on the verge of being cream teams. Steelers one percent,
Chargers two percent. Really banged up Bills, you know, teetering
on cream team defense scares US Eagles a lot of
they're also a two percent one percent team Packers. We

(47:56):
don't know how they're going to react without MICHAELH. Parsons.
He's that big of a game changer. So we'll categorize
those guys into one percent two percent. They're gonna make
the playoffs, but we got to see more. That's why
we have these three weeks to continue our our categorizing
of these teams. But let's jump in. We have our
skim milk teams, which the teams will probably won't make

(48:18):
it Ravens, Colts, Lions, Cowboys, Panthers, Bucks. Our cream teams,
teams that have been doing it all year and that
are are on a good rise. We got Niners, Bears, Seahawks, Patriots, Texans, Jags.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Two AFC South teams are cream teams. I never thought
I would have heard that. And then we have our
butter teams, which are the cream burlet of the cream
as Rob would say, and that is the Rams and Broncos.
These spots can change, but we'll see what happens. Let's

(48:55):
jump into the chills due to the week brought to
by our favorite beer cores like it, cores like delivered
straight to your door, Visit corslight dot com, slash dudes,
and always celebrate responsibly. Since it's that time of the year,
Rob and I are going to answer some questions.

Speaker 6 (49:13):
Ready, Jules, I got my cores like coll as the
Rockies cheers to you all the way across the country
from the East coast to the West coast.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Hey, cheers.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
You know what's in between us? M oh, the Rocky mountains,
the Rocky mountains. Look Rob his geography sand baggage.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
I'm a math guy and I also Julian. I love geography,
geography in puzzles, Yes, puzzles as well. And what my
favorite puzzles are is puzzles of like maps, like puzzles
of geography of countries and their cities. You know, I'm
putting the pieces together. You learn about where the cities are,

(50:02):
you learn geography. I love to travel, so it's just
great to have that knowledge, you know, and it's fun
knowledge as well, and you learn about the beautiful places
in the world, you know, and you learn about the
cultures as well of those places. And that's why I
just knew where the Rockies were. I knew they were
in between the East Coast and West Coast because I

(50:24):
just have that type of knowledge.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
I love. That's that's why they call you the Gronkxa Damis.
If you could give one gift to any player or
coach this Christmas, who would it be and what would
you be giving them?

Speaker 2 (50:37):
Oh, dangels A tough question on the spot, man, I
would give let's hear your answer, Yeah, give me some ideas.

Speaker 1 (50:48):
I would give Justin Herbert, like three linemen if I could,
because that's what they need to be a cream team,
like three offensive linemen.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
Yes, okay, so okay, I see where you're going with this. Okay.
I would give Camscatibo a new ankle because I just
love the way that he plays the game, you know,
I just like that look. I love, you know, just
the energy and the enthusiasm that he you know, brings
to the table for you know, the game of football,

(51:22):
and what he does out on the field, he brings electricity.
He makes you enjoy the game. He makes you be
in the present moment because you don't know what type
of play he's going to make next, or what type
of hit, or what type of effort he's going to
give next. So I would give him a new ankle.
Even though the Giants are terrible and you know they're
not winning this year, it would just be great to

(51:43):
see him back out in the field because he gave
New York at least hope, you know, out there, and
now they just have zero hope because he's not even playing.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
I would give Cam Skataboo and Puka Nakua a live
stream to talk on for all us humans because it
would be a lecture. Well that was our Chill's Dude

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
