Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Good Game with Sarah Spain.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Where we dressed is Ellie the Elephant for Halloween this weekend,
and learn we still have a lot of work to
do to spread the good word of the WNBA's greatest mascot,
Lady Liberty an elephant but New York. Come on, people,
it's big Ellie. You should know this. Shout out to
the bro who stepped aside to let me pass at
the bar and said, hey, we got a champion here people,
(00:23):
You sir, you get it. On today's show, will be
joined by full time Hoopers and part time comedian Sid
Colson and Theresa Plaison's about competition in the w The
Upcoming Athletes, Unlimited Season, They're Hilarious Show, The Sydne and
TP Show, and if It's possible for a prank.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
To go too far?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Plus another seat opens up on the WNBA coaching Carousel,
signature shoes, and the return of Summer kind of It's
all coming up right after this Welcome back Sliceys, Happy Monday.
Here's what you need to know today in the WNBA.
(01:01):
On Sunday, Christy Sides became the sixth WNBA coach to
lose her job since the end of the regular season,
the Indiana Fever announced that they parted ways with Sides,
who was hired in twenty twenty three, posted a twenty
and twenty record this year and led the team to
its first postseason appearance since twenty sixteen. After the news
was announced, Sides posted on Twitter quote leave it better
(01:22):
than you found it, accompanied by the peace sign emoji.
Side's dismissal is part of a larger overhaul of Fever
leadership as the franchise looks ahead to the future. Just
days ago, the Fever announced it had hired Amber Cox
to servi as chief operating officer and general manager after
the former GM, Lynn Dunn, moved into a new position
as senior advisor. Per Annie Costabolet Chicago Sun Times, Connecticut's
(01:44):
Sun head coach Stephanie White, has been in conversation with
the Fever since the end of the season and quote
multiple sources expect White, who's still under contract with the Sun,
to be the Fever's next head coach end quote.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
White has a long history with the Fever.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
She was on the team's inaugural roster and two thousand
and later served as a franchise's head coach for the
twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen seasons. More WNBA front office movement.
Over the weekend, the Las Vegas Aces announced that the
team isn't renewing the contract of GM Natalie Williams. So
that makes three current teams now searching for a new GM,
with the Aces joining the Mystics and the Wings, not
(02:20):
to mention the Toronto and Portland expansion teams that will
begin play in twenty twenty six. To soccer, the final
of the NWSL Times lega Mxfeminil Summer Cup was played
in San Antonio on Friday, with Kansas City winning the
inaugural title. The current was led by who else but Temlocheweinga,
who scored both goals in the two nil win over
(02:40):
Gotham FC. The earlier rounds of the Summer Cup were
held during the Olympic break when teams lost big chunks
of their rosters to international duty, and the final was
no different. In fact, Gotham signed seven replacement players to
fill international team players.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Ahead of that title game.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
The NWSL regular season resumes and concludes this coming weekend.
In sponsorship news, Chicago Skystar Angel Reese has agreed to
a multi year contract extension with Reebok, including a signature
shoe that will be available in twenty twenty six. Reese
is just the second WNBA player to have a signature
shoe with Reebok, joining Rebecca Lobo, whose shoe was available
(03:15):
in the late nineties. I'll have more to say about
Angel Reese and an interview she did with Shaquille O'Neil
later in the show. We gotta take a quick break.
When we come back, we laugh, we cry, we sing.
It's sitting TP up next. All right, it's time for
(03:39):
another group chat. Sure to be the most unhinged yet.
It's where we take the tea from the text to
the airwaves. And so far we have two guests that
are watching television, ordering grub Hub and staring directly into
the sun.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Should be a good one. She's a guard for the
Las Vegas Aces and a two time.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
WNBA champion a ten year WNBA bet. She's also played
for the Liberty Links, Sky and Star Rip Stars.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Anna broad in Poland and Israel.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Show return for the upcoming season of Athletes Unlimited Basketball

last month, debuted her signature sneaker she was one half
of the riotsis Lee Funny sit in TP show on
Foubu and within hours of Kathy Engelbert Rock in that
New York Skyline dress of the WNBA Finals, she went
to a store and found one for a photo op.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
It's the face of the league, Sidney Coleson. What's up, Sid?
Speaker 3 (04:22):
What's uh?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
What an intro?
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
And anyways it was door dash and this is a
ring light at.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
The sun Okay perfect perfect, joining her a WNBA champion
with the Las Vegas Aces in twenty twenty two, also
returning for the upcoming season of au basketball in the
WNBA shows, most recently with the Seattle Storm in twenty
twenty three. She's also played for the Wings, Sun Mystics,
Aces and Shock Rip Shock Anna Broad in Turkey, China
and Israel. She's an LSU alum, the mother of Yamantha,
the other half of the riotsis Sleey Funny sit in
(04:48):
TP show on Fubu. It's the face of the league.
Teresa plays on's akatp.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
What's up? TP?
Speaker 4 (04:54):
How are we doing today? I just have to spend
time with Sid, so you already know how my day's going.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Lots of laughs and occasionally some side punches.
I'm assuming this is a big get for our show,
both faces of the league, multiple leagues, really that you're
the faces of I want to start with the WNBA, though,
since we just put a bow on that season and
said I want to start with you. What was the
scene like for the Aces in the locker room after
elimination this year because you made that bid for a
(05:20):
three peat, couldn't quite go the distance. So much to
be excited and proud of, but still hurts. What was
it like in the locker room?
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Wow, it hurts more when you weren it like that.
I was fun, I was fine until that. Yeah, I
think it was, like I'll send this to a couple
of people. I think it was kind of like, not
super surprising, because we hadn't played like the team that
most people were used to seeing us play like the
last two seasons.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
So I think it was.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
We have been foreshadowing it all season because we just
couldn't get it right consistently enough, and a lot of
teams were playing Several teams were just playing better throughout
the course of the season and definitely better once playoff
time hit, and so I think we just realized once
the season ended, like we just got work to do
in the offseason, like we need to reset, refocus, come
(06:13):
back with a different motivation and you know, try to get.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
There's a lot of emotion from Asia Wilson this year,
particularly when she got her MVP honors, and she said
that you molded her into the leader she is and
that she appreciated you speaking up for her and being
a voice for her when she sometimes didn't feel heart
Can you tell us about your mentorship role there.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
I guess I wouldn't even call it like mentorship, but
it was just our friendship, you know, just happened to
be older than her.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
But yeah, I mean.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
Since I met Asia, I just felt like she was
a really good person. It was just crazy to see,
Like everybody talks about it a lot about her being
like the most humble superstar, but it's it's not just
like lip service. She really is one of the most
talented and humble people. I mean, like that should be
an expectation I feel like for people, but it's not.
(07:01):
It's not what we come across, especially not in athletes.
So I don't know, I just gravitated toward her because
of that part of her, not even the basketball, just
she's a solid person and so you know, she's always
been kind of like I'm gonna sit back and let
other people lead vocally. She was always doing it physically,
(07:21):
but I would always just you know, trying to be
getting her to speak up more and speak up more,
like for herself too, especially when you're that person on
the team. You don't have to be mean or demonstrative,
but people need to be reminded sometimes like this is
my this is my shit, and I think gidding, Yeah,
so I'm like come to the time out.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Like I need the ball.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
So when she wouldn't say it, I'm saying it to everybody,
like for her be known like this team is in
my eyes. So yeah, it was just like a friendship
that just turned into me trying to rub the kind
of leader I would be onto her if I was
a superstar exactly.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
TP you got waved by the storm in May of
last year.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
We've seen a lot of W players spend some time
away from the league and they get back in with
the team. Is that your goal to get back in
the W when you look ahead to next W season.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I think that is definitely an opportunity for me to
try to pursue. I love the W I've played my
entire career on. I guess you've named like half the
teams in the league at this point that both of us,
every single team was named. So it is something that
I'm looking forward to doing in this upcoming season. Also
with the expansion team, there's more opportunity there because, as
(08:32):
we know, this is one of the hardest leagues to
make and to maintain a career in. So it'd be
an extremely wonderful opportunity to be able to step back
foot in the W and have one more go at it.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
What have you been up to the last year?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Oh, what haven't I've been up to. I've been doing
a lot of family stuff. I've been training, I've been
I almost took a job overseas. I did actually go
got strained in Greece halfway to Israel, and then just
turned it on back around. All my flights to Israel
kept getting canceled or delayed indefinitely, which I guess therefore
(09:08):
meaning canceled. Yeah, but I wasn't stranded in Greece, which
wasn't like the worst place to be straded for no,
five days and it was it was nice. Then the
war got a little too intense. So you know what,
I'm going to go to uh a place where I
have two dogs that love me and pa oh I
have been going to so my dad and I have
(09:30):
this nineteen sixty five bus stang and we've been Her
name is Sally. Yeah, we've been in Sally and Nacarsia.
She is pretty love.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
That Sally much.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Wait, so two dogs?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I really I feel like the one dog erasure and
your intro I apologize for that. Can you tell us
other than Yamantha who you are the mother of?
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, Yamantha, Yeah, Yams, but Yamantha for long? And then
Yams's older brother's name is Chip. He's a eleven year
old cheweiny oh. I got him. I was in colleg
we lost out the tournament and those dog popped up
on my Instagram page, and like any college student would do,
made the terrible decision to have responsibility.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
So I got him at that point and he loves
me and he can't stand Yamantha.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Great, yeah, good dynamic.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
You mentioned twelve more players for the Valkyries next year
than twenty four more in twenty six with Portland and
Toronto getting going. How do you see expansion affecting play
quality and league growth?
Speaker 4 (10:30):
I think that you know, for years and years, we've
been asking for expansion, asking for expansion because there's been
quite a few instances where people have not made a
team because of something outside of what they're capable of
doing on court or and for that team it's either
a money issue, a numbers issue, what have you. But
(10:51):
you have really talented athletes getting cut and not being
able to maintain their job in the w due to
these issues. So I think having an expansion team is
really important. With that, we have these teams that have
multiple Olympians, multiple superstars, So you would have to think
with more money on the table with these expansion teams,
you're gonna see a lot more movement and free agency.
We're gonna shuffle the cards a little bit and see
(11:14):
where they may fall with these expansion teams, and I
think it's going to create some new excitement around the league. Also,
like women's sports are hot right now, this is the
time to get in and get active. And I think
that the markets that we chose to expand in have
always showed an appreciation for women's sports, and I think
this is just like the cherry on top.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah, yeah, it does feel like with the upcoming CBA
negotiations to a lot of players are just going to
do those one year deals and wait till that money
hits and be able to choose based on some of
that said, when you look back at this twenty twenty
four season, like TP just said, incredible growth and popularity,
record attendance, merch sales, ratings, all the good stuff, but
also a lot of odd a bounds commentary, a lot
(11:53):
of toxicity online, new fans, new media parachuting in sometimes
deleterious effect. How would you sum up your experience as
a player, balancing both sides of what went on this year.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Well, I think for a lot of it, I was
seeing it from like the outside. I think there are
certain players who are gonna have a way different perspective
because they were involved in either receiving some of the
racism and misogyny whatever it may may have been. And yeah,
for me, I think that we have an understanding that
the wider your fan base grows, you are going to
(12:27):
have people who come and are not necessarily in it
because they love women's basketball. They might love a person,
or they might just love the fact that this thing
is growing in popularity and.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
They're trolling now.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
So it's like it's gonna come with the territory of
getting bigger, you really can't run from it.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
I think that's with.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Any any sport, any like big celebrity trolls are going
to be there. But I think it's really important that
our leadership in the W and our players speak up
for one another, that we make it clear that, like
we don't stand for certain stuff.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Now what people do after that point, you can't.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Control what people do, but I let it be known that, like,
you know, like this is unnecessary. It's not a lot
of the time, it's not even funny. Honestly, some of
this stuff I can I could job with it, yeah, Joe,
you know, but like a lot of this stuff is
just like really redundant, very very boring.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
And so it was it was very cool to see
the growth.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Well, it's great to see so many people interested in
the W And even if they came for Angel Caitlyn Cameron,
like the rookie class Rakia, they got to see other players,
I think, and uh, that's a good thing. And so
hopefully that keeps growing and then you know, slowly the
losers just start to like weed themselves out.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
One would help.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yeah, uh, let's talk athletes.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Unlimited basketball upcoming twenty twenty five season is in Nashville.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Either of you have any music skills that we're going
to see you show off on way?
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Yeah, we're actually taking our tallem.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
So No, then.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
That was just a little taste of what's yet to come.
We haven't had time to prepare. We had to go
get a little bit of our right, I would what
she did. Yeah, No, but you tried hard, like you
went for it though. The courage that you had to
like try to go for that was incredible though, so
much respect for you.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Said, the best response to either taking your clothes off
or trying to perform is when someone says it was courageous.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Uh, so, congrats to that.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
You didn't have the taking your clothes off part, because
that would have been that.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Did not happen. Yea for those listings that did not happen.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
It's just those are two things that you would prefer
a different response to than courageous.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Do we have cowboy boots already? Are we do? We
at least have the fits.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
No, I have some bring I'll be going to get
fitted for some in the future.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Okay, Sid, you're part of the Athletes Unlimited executive committee
who served as a chairperson from twenty twenty two to
twenty three. Can you tell us how AU is different
than other leagues, not just with the scoring, but also
like player involvement and equity.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
I think Athletes Unlimited like my My desire to be
a part of it when it first came about was
because Natasha Cloud like brought it to a few W
players when they were thinking about starting a women's league
or a basketball league, and I was out of the
W at that point, and I was like, Okay, well
I still want to play competitively.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
This being player led.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
This sounds really cool and plus I would love to
be a part of like building something with other players,
and so I just like, I love the model. I
love the scoring system, how it's different, the leader board,
and how you switch teams every week. It's the first
player led pro league like outside of the W in
the off season, so there they had a proven concept
(16:01):
and a proven model like with their other sports LF wall, lacrosse, volleyball.
So for me, it wasn't a huge risk. It was
like they know what they're doing. We would just be
coming on and adding our insight into what we know
about the w and what we know about overseas basketball,
and like combining all of that to help them continue
to build this beyond when we're the player Executive Committee
(16:24):
and so we have steak in the company, which is
really awesome. Like even if you just play one year,
you still have stake. And so there are a lot
of things about this that John Patrickcroff and Jonathan Soros,
they created this to really be something that players can
be proud of and that you can take part in.
And it's fun. All the players that come here, they
(16:46):
have a great time. It's gone from six weeks to
five weeks. But being in Nashville had a lot of
people excited too, So we're happy, which we're here right now.
Actually we're about to leave when we get off with
you and go to just like a press conference a
panel to get people excited in the city about this.
So yeah, it's cool. I'm glad that I've been a
part of it these last these first four years. But
(17:07):
hopefully it just continues to grow.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah, and what keeps bringing you back, especially when you
when you win two titles with the Aces. You know,
instead of going abroad or resting, why do you keep
coming back to AU.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
I'm older, I've been over the overseas lifestyle for a
long time. I was never making enough money for it
to make sense to me. I'm like, let me work
on things that I'm gonna do when basketball is done.
So they're coaching like I coached at Rice for two years,
or like work on just like staying here and taking
acting classes, Like, let me just do something. I would
rather lose money right now and hopefully get it back
(17:43):
down the line, keep going and be annoyed with insane coaches.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I'm like, yeah, this is the opportunity calls. It just
didn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, TP, you're the daughter of a coach, and in
a lot of ways that AU the players are the
coaches too. So should other places consider that as a
bonus when drafting teams each week and adding you that
you basically you know, you get to bring all the
skills that you grew up with.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah, I think it's just a bonus to spend time
with me generally, But I mean with all these other additives,
I would say that my mom's coaching experience. I've been
around the game of basketball since I literally had a
basketball in my Like, what's the plastic crib that they
put babies in? That kind of sounds like inhumane, but
you know when you're born, they like put you in
(18:27):
that like plastic clear crib.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, sure, getting a visual yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah, in the hospital. Yeah yeah, No, I had a
basketball in there, so like yeah, so ever since then,
like basketball has been in my blood. I love like
seeing the game. I love like reading the game. Like
I was talking about picking rolls as like a six
year old, which isn't I would say common.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah, you were five foot eight though, right at six?
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Part of why cowering? Yeah, I was towering over everyone
beside my brother. That man is way too big.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Wait is your mom named do Be?
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Like? My hunch is that it's based on the show
that had the Bee that taught you how right?
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Okay, I'm writing.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yes, I'm writing a book, and that literally came up
in the book.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
This are you writing it or somebody writing it for you?
Speaker 2 (19:18):
No, No, I'm writing it about someone else. That's how
talented a writer. I'm I'm the one that they come to.
I know can you believe it? Anyway, there's a whole
section on that show and the Doobies, and I was like,
that's got to be where the name comes from.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
I love that is. That's so great.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
You guys are always full of jokes, your pranksters.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Obviously I need a story of when you went too far,
either with a teammate or like a moment where a
coach wanted to keep it serious.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Go for it.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
Okay. So this was one of the first days of
practice and we're in unlb's gym and we're going over
like some film about one of our like preseason games
or something like that, and like everybody's in these like
folding chairs, like surrounded by this rolling TV. And Sydney's
like placed on the floor like like the small people
(20:05):
that can like contort themselves into sitting however they want
to sit, wasn't in the front row. And so we're
watching this clip and the clip is like the Paul
gets skipped up to Sydney and it gets paused, and
so Becky's like, where's Sydney, Where's Sydney, And like you
just see this hand in the front like get raised
(20:26):
and she's like here literally in that voice, and Becky
was like, sid what's your aunt one name?
Speaker 1 (20:35):
And City was like a little poop and.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Then he like plays the clip. Sidney took like three
more dribbles and like turned it over.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
She did.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
She was like, you could have passed it before you
took all these dribbles to just pass it next time.
But Sidney thought she was about to get like an
ant one compliment. Yeah, I was just telling her to
pass the ball.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Yeah, that was to answer her question though. That was
just a funny story.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
She's a funny story.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Too far, som went too far?
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (21:11):
What about with like our favorite celebrity couple Apostra Bam,
that's what we call Asia and Bam.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
I know nothing about that.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Mm hmmm, not based on your tweets.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
I'm just honestly, I'll just get in there and say so.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
So he likes to stir the pot. I don't know
if you've seen her other tweets, but there's evidence that
she's a popstar.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Yeah. People say I went too far with the dress.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
No, not far enough. Should have worn it right, That's.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
What I feel I'm thinking about. I'm nice doll, But
when did we go too far? Probably like in practice,
like when when the coaches got there in twenty twenty two,
they weren't used to our humor, Like they didn't know us.
They're coming from the NBA, where I guess it's more
classy or something. Sure said, we're way more raunchy than them,
(22:03):
So like we would just Becky could say anything.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
She's like, yo, just like next time, just penetrate driving in.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
The hole, like get up the middle.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
And we're like, you know, like we're like giggling, like
that's what she said? Or what was the play that
we had and we wanted to name it? I want
to say coucie or something.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Like, Yeah, are we allowed to say that on air?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah? You're allowed to say anything you Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Okay, we got our problem.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Are we getting a season two of this show?
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Sid in TP Yeah, we sure hope. So we're gonna
say yes, We're just gonna manifest it. There's there's talks
about it, there's interest in it, and we obviously had
such a great time doing season one that we want
to we're pushing really harder season two, and a lot
of people are pushing really harder season two. So you know,
why do you want to be on I.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Do think I want to be on.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Okay, what's your elevator pitch?
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, what's your elevator pitch? Don't beg it's okay.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
So actually my elevator pitch is based on like a
Ryan Reynolds show Wrexham where they have this like women's
team and they don't really know how to handle it.
I feel like there needs to be a good pitch,
Like it's a fake, fake meeting with executives explaining how
women's and men's sports are different. But actually it's just
like you keep going back and forth between being different
and the same. So you're like, well, so one thing
(23:21):
you need to do with women's sports is like make
sure it's not too gay, but also make it like
extremely gay, and then also like you need to make
sure that the women are like super feminine but also
like not feminine at all.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
So basically the whole point is like it's impossible to
sell women's sports because like it's everything and everyone wants
it to be one thing instead of many things. I'm
gonna keep working on that. I'll bring you around that
of that pitch.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
No, think about it, Okay.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
It perfect perfect. Did you guys meet Ryan Reynolds and
does he smell good?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
We did it. We were more so.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Like, what does Blake smell like? Fair?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Fair, fair fair? I figured it. I'll let you know
if I meet her. And then you guys, let me
know if you.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Mean put in a good word.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Okay, perfect, perfect, okay, TP, speed round. First, who's funnier
you were?
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Said?
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Ud, Wow, I know, but I thought you were so funny.
Remember when I had that breakthrough one day during the show,
It's like, you're actually funny?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Yeah, sure you think, so we have a show to you.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Who's more likely to break during a scene? TP? Yeah,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
I don't know. That's because we've had our times where
like the other one just does something that's so uncalculated
that you can't even predict the ridiculousness. So I feel
like we both had. I feel like it's fifty to fifty.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Who's the dream cameo on the show?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (24:44):
For me, I would be the Obama's Oh sid what
about you? Yeah? I really want them on the show.
I feel like they have such a great personality, so funny,
and they are They're super polished, with like a playful
spirit about them. So we need more out in our
lives personally.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
I agree said dream cameo, Oh.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
My gosh, I'm trying to think.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
I'm trying to think actors because I feel like it
would be like Quinca or Isa Ray.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Oh yeah, like people with that kind of humor.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
I think, yeah, that'd be awesome. Do you have an
idea that didn't work out or end up making the show?
Speaker 5 (25:24):
Well, when we came up with the show, like when
we didn't know that it was going to be a show,
we thought we were just doing stuff. We came up
with like a long list of things that we thought
would be fun or funny to do.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
And she just mentioned why yesterday.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
And it was I was like, Oh, we should go
to like a be sanctuary and we're like the bee
keeper suit, but we have to simultaneously be like doing
a spelling bee and like you have to really be focused.
And somebody was like, oh, so do you get stung
if you get the word? You know, wasn't initially part
of my plan, but I like that, like that spelling
(26:02):
out loud here so and like pain to that.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I I mean I would watch that. Yeah, I would
watch you die from a beasting or imagine.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
Three or four only like I feel like there would
have to be a shorter anything.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Yeah, but if you have four syllables and miss it,
that's like, oh that was tough. If they give you
a three letter word and you miss it, I don't
know if you're coming back from that. Uh well, we
could talk forever. I could watch it through half of
a beam and then the other half of her face
lit for another half hour. But y'all have things to
(26:43):
do in Nashville, including going to try out for the
voice obviously, so thank you so much for spending some
time with us.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
I look forward to being on your show. It's gonna
be a blast.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
We said, we'll think about it. Yeah, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
I'm manifesting it is.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
What's happening it okay, all right, have fun in Nashville.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Bye.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Thanks so much to sit in TP for taking the time.
We're manifesting season two of the Sit In TP Show
right along with you. We have to take another break
when we come back. We love you, slices, We really do.
Welcome back, Slices. We love that you're listening, but we
want you to get in the game every day too.
(27:28):
So here's our good gameplay of the day in honor
of my Ellie the Elephant costume. You can find the
clips of that on my Instagram. The gaal I saw
on Twitter dressed is Asia Wilson's tiny car from the
All State commercial. And every other shout out to women's
sports that I saw over the weekend in person or
on social We want you to send us your favorite
women's sports costumes past or present, either something you rock
(27:49):
for a previous Halloween or maybe something you have planned
for this year, even something you.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Spotted in the wild that was particularly clever.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Good Game would love to put together a thread of
the best ones, so send us your picks at Sarah
Spain on Twitter, slash x at Spain two three two
three on Insta, or hit us up on email Good
Game at wondermedianetwork dot com. If you've got other thoughts
or show suggestions, you can always leave us a voicemail
at eight seven to two two four fifty seventy, and
don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review, just like these superstars.
(28:20):
Golden Gata said, I love that I hear stories and
interviews that I don't get anywhere else. Thanks Mama Slice nickname.
Bunch of Numbers said, I wish all podcasts were like this,
no meandering, which seems to be de rigour in the
podcast format, so rich in actual facts, informed opinions.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Like somebody said on Twitter, it's like it.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Applies to standards of serious broadcast television to the podcast format.
Simply the best shout out to my producers extraordinaire Alex
Endmeas for helping me keep those standards high. It's a
team effort over here, and we really appreciate you noticing.
Now it's your turn slices, rate and review or tell
a friend too. It's easy watch mentor figures violating trust
(28:59):
and profess rating infinity middle fingers review. Earlier in the show,
I mentioned the big news for Angel Reese, a contract
extension with Rebok and a signature shoe. Last week, The
Chicago sky Star had former NBA superstar now President of
Basketball for Rebox Shaquille O'Neil on her show Unapologetically Angel,
and he made the tired suggestion of lowering the rims
(29:20):
to allow more WNBA players to dunk. It's a thing
that's been discussed for years, and usually by people who
don't watch the games and use the lack of dunking
as a means to deride the quality of entertainment, or
explain why they don't watch, or just otherwise criticize the
women's game, even though it's been proven over and over
again that the number of dunks per game doesn't determine
the quality of play or entertainment. Please see the Splash Brothers,
(29:43):
the Warriors, so many other teams that we love to
watch that aren't about dunking.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
That Shaq brought the lowering the Rims combo.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Up again would be annoying enough, But then the fifty
two year old brought up the shorts that twenty two
year old Reese wore to a wildened out event and
fantasized about watching her in those short shorts.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Take a listen, and.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
You don't don't strike this from the tape, Christians striking it.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Don't don't. Don't you just lower like that to where
it gives your ability to douro.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Imagine you, and I'm not imagining, let me finish. Imagine
you in those same little shirts you had on at
the while in our show duncan t shirts. You're going
to say, oh my what what? Okay?
Speaker 1 (30:27):
All right, all right, all right, all right, all right?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
So is it about lowering the rims and more dunks
or is it about sexual fantasies? And why is the
president of Rebok basketball fantasizing about a Rebock athlete to
her face on her podcast? She was clearly uncomfortable, but,
as is so often the case, women have to laugh
off this kind of behavior. Want to keep things from
getting awkward and continue to keep up business and professional
(30:53):
relationships that are valuable to them. Shack, a fellow l
s u alum, successful player and businessman, boiled this mentor
mentee relationship because he couldn't keep his sex thoughts to himself.
Deeply disappointing and really unfair to Angel Reese. Thanks for listening, y'all.
We'll see you tomorrow. Good game, Sid, Good game, TP
