Speaker 1 (00:00):
It was a grim scene. Two enormous whales, boiled alive
in their tanks by the fire that gutted their home,
had collapsed through the walls and spluttered onto Broadway. Everyone
passing by just stared in horror, unsure of what they
could possibly do and who could blame them, because the
most famous building in New York City was engulfed in flames,

(00:20):
and the animals inside it, both dead and alive, were
escaping in start contrast to all the chaos and noise
and heat of that disaster. At that very same moment
in eighteen sixty five, the owner of the building was
stepping onto a stage in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and as he did,
someone slipped him a note with the news. He unfolded it,

(00:42):
read it, and then tucked it away and continued speaking.
This man wasn't the sort to be rattled. He was p. T. Barnum,
after all, but the news of the destruction of his
great American museum hit him hard, and he knew things
would never be the same. What he didn't know, though,
was how much it would change America. Welcome to Grim

(01:03):

(01:23):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
