(00:00):
Hi. I'm Jenny. Hi,I'm Carrie. We're best friends and new
moms. We're also the ogs ofHallmark Christmas Movies. That's right. We've
been watching these movies since long beforethey became a Christmas juggernaut. And now
we're here to talk all things Hallmarkwith you because we know you're watching too.
Sit back, relax and get yourHallmark on. We are the Hallmark

(00:23):
Junkies. Ho ho ho. MarryChristmas everyone, The Hallmark Junkies are back.

(00:46):
This is Carrie and this is Jenny. And we are also joined by
our producer, Harry aka my Dogin our lovely home studio. Harry as
sleeping as usual. Yes, that'show he produce, that's how he works
greenily. Yeah, we're really excitedbecause this is our second slash continuation of

(01:07):
first season. There you go,some heartby slash too exactly. Some of
you may have noticed we took alittle break and we had some red tape
to get through. Yes, notred and green, we just read,
but we pushed through. We did. Also, we have a bunch of

(01:27):
kids to take care of now,so you know that was happening that don't
sleep. Yes, both our Christmaswishes this year are please let my baby
sleep exactly, or you know,at least if you're not going to sleep,

(01:47):
do it now so we can getup a much homework, which does
help slightly a little bit. Yeah, okay, I think we should get
into it because this is a bigone, you Mungo. Yeah. This
we're doing a rewatch of an oldermovie. It's from twenty seventeen, and
it's really close to our hearts. It is. It's my all time favorite

(02:10):
home. Okay, so we prettymuch know where Jenny is gonna go with
the CCBs on this one. Dowe get to do double the CCBs on
this one since there's two CCBs inthis movie? Yes, so whatever our
rating is timed to okay, Yeah, I love it. Okay, so
we are doing everybody's favorite or earleast Jenny's Switch to Christmas, which for

(02:31):
Christmas switch for Christmas? Yes,yeah, storrying CCB and ccbes two DJ
tanners right now. This is verymuch like the Parent Trap, both the
Hailey Mules version and the Lindsay Lohamwhere it's the same person playing two people

(02:52):
instead of just literally getting twins anda lot more phone calls in this one.
For the two people instead of inthe same picture. There's a lot
of phone calls, which I'm into. So do you remember how excited we
were like when we found out thismovie was coming out? Oh my gosh,
yeah, we were like what itwas one of those like are you

(03:12):
too excited and you're gonna be disappointment? Disappointed like Christmas in Dollywood because you
didn't get enough Dolly correct. Butwe got enough CCB. We got a
lot of CCB and we're still excitedevery time it Reyeirs. We are texting
each other about it. Oh gosh. Yeah. Yeah. I mean I
have the app and I like putreminders on my calendar. I have it
set reminders on my calendar for whenthis is coming on. That's so good.

(03:38):
So this is obviously starting CCB.Can this Cameron Beret before she left
us? Yeah? H Also herdaughter is in this movie. Yeah,
Nasha plays her daughter in the movie. And you know some other people.
So what should we talk about first? I will just say it's stars.

(04:02):
Mark Decklan, who I love asa home marker, but he's only fell
in a couple he's but he wasin one of the Evergreen mm hmm.
The letters to Santa, which Ilove that one. Did you see I
found this online that at one pointshe asked him his character, like what
he's going to do for Christmas?Yeah, and he's like, I'm gonna
go see my family in Evergreen.Yeah. And he then the next year

(04:24):
was his Evergreen movie, So hemust have known that he was going to
do that, right, Yeah, but then that would mean he didn't stay
together. Let's not go there.Yeah. Yeah, maybe he has a
twin different name. And also wehad Yan Bailey playing Tom Kinder, Yeah,
who was in Band of Brothers AndI love Band of Brothers. You

(04:46):
do, Oh my gosh. Iwatch it like every year and then I
feel bad because I remember once whenwe go every year to laydel Reese.
One time we were like, no, it's too cold out and snowy,
lets not go. And then likethe next day I watched Band of Brothers
and they were like living in thisin like France or something, and I
was like, oh gosh, I'mso lazy. But yeah, he was
a Band of Brothers. Wow,Yeah, what about you? Okay,

(05:13):
so what should we do next? It's been so long to just jump in
to picture it. Let's do it. Named after The Golden Girls slash The
Fia Patrillo. Yeah, all right, that's the only bad thing about when
we switch to the Christmas movies isthere's no Golden Girl. That's true.
This is true, but you knowI pushed through it. Yeah, and
then in January you hold up andwatch Golden Girls. Right, yeah,

(05:36):
okay, all right, here wego. Picture It Denver slash Littleton,
Colorado twenty seventeen. Identical twin sistersKate Lockhart and Chris Lockhart Dixon could not
be more different. Kate in realestate development, lives in Big Evil,
Denver. She's got fancy, designereverything, likes making lists, and is

(05:58):
nothing if not organized and put together. Chris is a divorced, suburban mom
high school teacher, and she hasno time for herself. She loves to
wear jeans and sweaters and stunningly Carrie. She is not organized, she doesn't
make lists, and she doesn't showup on time. But she's a dog,
happy, happy the dog. Ilove the dog. Yeah. The

(06:20):
only thing these two have in common, other than the fact that they're identical
twins, is that they are planningChristmas party. You see, Kate has
been tasked with planning the office Christmasparty after the office manager up and left
when her book dog lets to Dallasmade it big, and Chris is planning
the Littleton School District Winter Wonderland forthe tenth year in a row, which

(06:44):
would seem easy except they have anew donor this year who really wants to
shake things up now. It alsoturns out that Kate and Chris have been
somewhat estranged since their mom died,But they get bamboozled into a brunch together
by their trick, her dad,who up and leaves just like the office
manager, and he tells them, you know what, you have to hang

(07:05):
out because you told your dead momthat you would hang out. And so
at brunch, Kate and Chris getinto a little tip about who has the
harder life. Naturally, they alsodispute who has the harder Christmas party to
plan. Is it Chris's homie, small town winter Wonderland or is it Kate's
swanky, big evil city office party. I don't know, you know what,

(07:30):
I feel like I could have solvedthis fight because at least Chris,
who is a teacher, but she'sbeen doing the Winter Wonderland extravaganza for ten
years, whereas he is like aVP right in her company, but they
cleared her calendar. Yeah, thewoman who was in the office. Yeah,
the architects. I feel like therewere many times where I got like

(07:54):
pushed into doing something like this atvarious jobs, or I was just like,
I'm not qualified for this and Idon't want to do it. Yeah,
I'm not a party planning type.I'm not good at it. I
want to be good at it,but I'm not. Well. How do
the girls decide that they're going tosettle whose life is tough for Kerry?
I don't know. They decide todo the sister switch, which is a

(08:18):
great idea. Yeah, so Chriswill finally have some time to herself playing
single Kate, and Kate is finallygoing to be able to wear sweatpants,
which she's very excited about because she'sgonna play Chris. This is super risky,
though, because they haven't done thesister switch since the Tom Kinder fiasco
back in high school. Yeah,I mean the Tom Kinder fiasco. Who's

(08:41):
not still talking about that? Allright? So the sister switch is on
Chris playing Kate hits it off immediatelywith the super hot office architect Greg,
who immediately also takes a keen interestin helping her plan the office party.
Yeah, Kate playing Chris is soI'm super excited that life is going to

(09:01):
be easy because the Winter Wonderland neverever changes. But uh oh, turns
out that the new money bags donorthat's shaking things up is none other than
Tom Kinder of the Tom Kinder Fiasca. Oh my god. I'd also like
to say that, you know,I was watching this last night and it
was, you know, probably myI don't know, fifteen hundredth viewing this

(09:22):
movie, and I never reallyed howmany times she says she wants or Kate
wants to be Chris because she wantsto wear sweat pants. And I was
like, girlfriend, you live alonelike you can is what you should be
doing. Yeah, I mean,I mean, you can wear sweatpants no
matter what. But if you're alone, nobody even has to know if you're
that concerned about it. Like whenyou are single and you get home from

(09:45):
work, what's the first thing youdo? You take off your bral.
The second thing you do you puton some sweat pipe. I will say
I'm not single, but I stilldo both set from work. Well,
mine's different because now I work fromhome, so oh, I just wear
sweat pants every don't ever have toget dressed. So as we said me,

(10:05):
mister money bags, Tom Kinder ofthe Tom Kinder Fiasco seems to maybe
have had a past with Kate, who is currently paying playing Chris planning the
Winter Wonderland. Kate's now like, let's keep this sister switch alive so I
can maybe spend some time with TomKinder of the Tom Kinder Fiasco and see

(10:26):
what happens. So on the sisterswitch goes well, and Tom Kinder is
giving money to Winter Wonderland that theschool puts on, which is some sort
of carnival festival kind of thing.Because his son is is entering as a
freshman, so is Tom Kinder ofthe Tom Kinder Fiasco buying his sons away

(10:46):
into this school kind of school? Is this? We saw Aunt Becky go
to jail for that, so let'sbe careful, all right, On it
goes Kate playing Chris also finds outthat her niece and nephew, Piper and
Gabe, are spoiled brats, butshe's still makes awful, but she still

(11:11):
makes time to have Principal Sumner andTom Kinder of the Tom Kinder Fiasco over
for some cookies and some Winter Wonderlandattack talk. Meanwhile, Chris playing Cake
gets to wear designer clothes and shegets to go shopping with heart hot architect
creg So things are going well forboth. Oh well, well, so
well that we get a tree trimmingscene with Kate playing Chris Tom Kinder of

(11:33):
the Tom Kinder Fiasco and with anawesome Balsom Hill product place. Met Oh,
that is one of the best productplacements they've ever done. And that's
saying a lot. The music andthen the Balsam Hill, the soft lighting,
and then the banging ornament organizer standfrom Balsom Hill. Right, yeah,
I want that stand. I wantthat for everything in my house.

(11:54):
I want it for my dishes,I want it for my ornaments, I
want it for my daughter's crap.Like I love that. It probably costs
two thousand dollars, definitely. Nowlet me tell you, though, I
noticed something. So for that treetrimming scene at the beginning of the movie,
that tree was already up. Ohmy god, I was going to

(12:16):
it in I double checked it wasin the same room because there was the
fireplace. They already had the treeup, so maybe that was like the
preliminary tree. And then they're like, we bring out the Balsam Hill stuff
when we get closer to Christmas, like it's too expensive to keep up all
for the full season. We don'twant to mess it up. It's bringing
out the china. I was.I was going to go back and check

(12:39):
because I was like, wasn't therealready a tree there? There was?
Maybe the first tree is like thepractice tree, like let's see where we
want to place all the ornaments, then put them back into the Balsam Hill
organizer. Maybe it's all about theorganizer. They organizers. Well whatever,
it was a great all around. After the tree trimming scene, Chris playing

(13:05):
Kate saves the Jasper Condo project withher down home, small town, family
friendly ideas for Jasper. We can'ttalk enough about Jasper and the Jasper project.
It's really important. After Kate Chrisplaying Kate, sorry, save the
Jasper Condo project, we get abaking montage with Chris and Greg because they

(13:28):
have to make the gingerbread house. That's like somehow going to make money to
donate at this office Christmas party. That yeah, they do kind of lose
me a little bit on that.Yeah, I know, so every same
thing seems on the up and up. The Christmas party planning is tough for
both of them. Chris playing Kateshe might just make the stuffy corporate Christmas

(13:50):
party too small town and homie, and Kate playing Chris, well, her
ideas might just be too high endin big city for the small town Christmas.
I mean, these girls just can'twith these Christmas parties. I mean,
is this an appropriate time to talkabout principal sumner or should I save
it that Philly? Let's save it, Okay, I want to get into
principal Sumner. Yeah. So weactually then make it to the actual Christmas

(14:13):
parties. So first up is Chris, who's playing Kate. This is the
stuffy corporate Christmas party in the EvilCity, and it goes fabulous. Everybody
loves the ugly Christmas sweater idea eventhough it's small town and homie, and
it goes so so well. Actually, that hot architect Greg can't take it
and he plants a kiss on chrispankCake and Christina. That party did look

(14:39):
fun, I will say it did. Yeah, it was a good party.
And Chris playing Kate gets super nervous, and when she gets super nervous,
she just starts talking, so shespills the beans and she tells them,
you know what, I'm not Kate, I'm Chris. I'm a superban
mom. I'm not a big citygirl. I'm divorced, like you don't
know me. And meanwhile we cutback to the Winter Wonderland Carnival, which
is also going well, and TomKinder of the Tom Kinder Fiasco. He

(15:03):
asks Kate, who's playing Chris, out to dinner, but she can't go
with him. She first is like, you know what I need to ask
you about way back when when youstood up Kate twenty years ago, at
least twenty years ago, which wenow call the Tom Kinder Fiasco. So
Tom, what happened? And he'slike, what are you talking about?
I did show up. I showedup because I knew her for one day

(15:26):
and I loved her after one day. And she was kissing someone else,
and kate'say, oh no, BlakeDixon bris showed up early to play Kate
Briss's boyfriend was there, whose nameis Blake Dixon, I believe, and
she kissed him and then Tom showsup and he sees kissed chrissing Blake Dixon,
and he thinks Kate's kissing another man, and he leaves and for twenty

(15:48):
years their lives are rude. Now, and Kate says she because she had
some sounds like they spent the daytogether, took a little break maybe for
dinner, I don't know, andthen they were going to meet back up
to ice Skate and Kate says,I, but I had somewhere else to
be. Yeah, so why'd youjust tell him that I can? We
push back, because that's what youdo when you have an identical twin.

(16:11):
You don't have to make up stuff. You just say, hey, yeah,
I'll be there, no waste oftime. Also, they only had
like one day, like he couldhave maybe I don't know, it depends
on what she had to do.But yeah, so all these years they've
both been upset about this and itwas really just that the sister swap went
awry. That's tough. Yeah, all right, So Kate is about to

(16:34):
tell Tom Kinder that she's really Chris. I mean, wait, that she's
really Kate really late Chris, right, But then Chris shows up and she
tells her, oh my gosh, you know, I just told Greg about
everything. I told that we're doingthe sister switch and that I'm not really
Kate. And Kate's like, youknow what, that's okay because we're sister
bestie's again. We are no longera strange And so they go back to

(16:57):
the house and they get ice skatesfrom their dead mom and went out.
Do they get each get a pair? Because it looks like they each got
one because they have to stay together. That's they told their mom they do.
It's weird. Greg shows up atChris's house and he kisses Chris for
a second time, and they decidethey're gonna give things to go, and

(17:18):
then Kate, the real Kate, ends up finding Tom Kinder at the Winter
Wonderland and he just happens to haveMissilestone in his pocket. So they kissed,
you know, and I like,She's like, I gotta go find
Tom. So I'm gonna put myice skates on for my skate and my
sister's skates skate, and that's howI'm gonna find him. In this tiny
little ice rink, the smallest icerink, the smallest I have that it's

(17:41):
like gotta be one of the smalleston where they actually showed the ice rink,
because usually they're not in an icerink. But yeah, it's the
smallest one I've seen. Instead ofwalking around the Winter Wonderland Festival thing,
go directly to the skating and he'ssure to show up. I would.
Yeah, Yeah, he was there. She knows Tom Kinder even though they've

(18:03):
only known each other for a dayin the last twenty years. So,
like I said, Tom Kinder ofthe Tom Kinder Fiasco has mistletoe in his
pocket. They kissed luckily, andwe have yeah, and we have two
new couples, and we have afamily that spends a happy Christmas together and
we get a Christmas Eve montage thatwas pretty nice. And that was the
end of the best Hallmark movie thathas ever aired. Well, I mean,

(18:29):
you must be exhausted from that.So why don't we take a little
break. Let's take a little break. We'll be back soon. All right,
We're back, Carrie. Let's rateit one to five CCBs and then

(18:49):
I will do the quick math andmultiply by two. Okay, I'm not
just doing this for you, butI am giving it a five now.
I do have a reason why I'mgiving it a five. There's two CCBs.
Yes, well that is actually partof my reason because it has everything

(19:10):
it has. Okay, two CCBs. Dead Mom, you know you had?
Well that's every movie though, itis, but you know, sometimes
they don't do it. Like sometimesit's just like, oh, mom and
dad are moved to Florida or they'reon a world tour or something. But
really to make a fabulous movie, somebody has to be dead, so that's
perfect. There's a dog, lovethe dog. There's multiple montages, yes,

(19:36):
threeaking, decorating, that's perfect. And there is a snow falling as
the kiss in the almost final scene. That's perfect. Yeah. And small
town and big city yeah, butreally small town mostly small town. Yeah,
but yeah, I'm giving it five. Wait, you didn't do the

(19:59):
math online. Oh sorry, that'sten ten CCBs. Sorry quick math.
I'm like a calculator. Okay,So I'm also giving it five times too,
So ten CCBs, mostly because weget two CCBs. The movie just
like Vombits Christmas, which I love. That's why I love Evergreen and like
Christmas under Wraps. Yeah, Ilove Greg He's one of my favorite Hallmark

(20:22):
stars. I don't know that he'sone of my favors, but I do
like him. Yeah. I cannotsay the same about Tom Kinder, but
whatever, and hm, I meanthe storyline the sister Switch is so good.
Anything with twins. When I waslittle, I loved I know,
like that was so fascinating to me. Yeah, it's identical too, that's
like crazy. I really wanted tohave twins. But now that I have

(20:45):
two kids that are two years apart, I yeah, people who have twins,
I don't like. I don't knowhow you medals? Yeah, yeah,
mini metals. Should we get intofree for all? Let's do it?
Tell me your first Okay, soyou may not know, Jenny does
know. But my husband is fromColorado. I do know this, yees.

(21:06):
And he lived in Denver, andso I asked him last night if
he had ever been to Littleton andhe said yes. And I said how
far is it from Denver? Andhe said, what like downtown And I
said, yes, downtown Dever toLittleton and he said it is fifteen to
twenty minutes. Huh, which isinteresting because in this movie they make a

(21:26):
big deal about how far apart theyare. I say, it's an hour,
because then Tom Kender's like an hourin LA. That's like a commute,
right, which La is probably acommute is probably even longer than an
hour. Yeah, even when hesaid an hour, I'm like, okay,
that's not far either. Yeah,it's really not. But to learn
it's fifteen to twenty minutes. Now, we my husband and I looked it

(21:48):
up in Apple Maps and just adouble check, and it said twenty minutes.
It was actually during Denver's rush hour. It was twenty minutes. Husband
drives fast though, you know,Oh well yeah, And it said it
was ten miles to Little Tin andLittle Tin is actually considered part of the

(22:10):
Denver metro area. It's a suburbof Denver. And I also learned that
it is south. Littleton is southwestfrom Denver. And in the movie,
they keep saying we're gonna go upto Little Tin, but really they should
be saying we're gonna go down toLittle Ten. I can overlook that,

(22:30):
but the whole like we're strange andwe live so far apart, because there's
a point in the movie. Ithink it's when Chris first gets to Kate's
condo and she's just kind of clearlyhas never been to this condo. Why
have you never seen your sister's cold? She lives ten miles even if it

(22:51):
were an hour, even if that'slike really a strange yeah yeah. And
what are they estranged over? Theynever really? Yeah, it seems like
they just drifted apart, right,Yeah. Yeah. And then the other
thing that kind of goes along withthe whole location is I read that the
shot at the beginning of the movieof Denver was both Pittsburgh and Salt Lake

(23:15):
City. Yeah, neither of RichardDenver. Now I think you told me
right. It was filmed in SaltLake City. Yeah, so I think
that maybe the outside view of SaltLake City. There is a glass building
that they used in this movie, and like seventeen other Homework movies, it
is actually in Pittsburgh. And Iknow that building because it is my favorite
building in Pittsburgh. And I don'tknow why they always use it. I

(23:38):
guess just it looks pretty. Sothat's my first little thing. I did
I think read that about Littleton aswell. Okay, here's my first thing.
Let's talk a little bit about TomKinder. Yeah, so Tom Kinder

(23:59):
says that he left his law practiceto become an angel investor, meaning this
guy is like loaded with a capitall right, he's super loaded. I
was going to ask you actually aboutangel investing, of how do you make
money doing that? Well, Iguess that's what I was thinking too,
Like you have to have so muchmoney that you don't care if this new
product or whatever, like people thataren't typically going to get funding doesn't take

(24:19):
off. Now, I mean,of course, if the product takes off
or whatever, your funding does, and then you're going to make a lot
of money. It's kind of likeShark Tank. But I was just going
to say that it's very shark Tanks. But here's what I found funny.
Was like, so he comes andhe's like, hey, we got to
make Winter Wonderland cute. And I'mlike, if you're an angel investor,
you care about the small guy andyou care about things that matter. Right.

(24:41):
But later in the movie, they'relike, well, maybe we can
use the surplus from Winter Wonderland toaddress the supply shortage at the school.
And I'm like, wouldn't Tom Kindergo in and be like, first,
let's address the supply shortage at theschool and maybe any other issues that we're
having with funding school, and thenmaybe if we have a surplus, we

(25:03):
can put it towards the Winter Wonderland, which was functioning completely fine for the
last ten years. And I thinkit was partially because he had this obsession
with Kate from twenty years ago andthe whole Winter Wonderland thing. Right,
I'm gonna guess that's where they spenttheir time was at this Winter Wonderland,
right right, and that's where theywere supposed to meet. And the ice

(25:23):
skating because he made sure they hadthe ice skating rank back, even though
it might be small, he didmake sure they had an ice skating rink.
But I just thought it was funnythat an Angel investor would be so
concerned about Winter Wonderland and not thesupply shortage at the school. I'm guessing
their art situation in the school's alreadyabove most schools art departments, because they

(25:47):
have a Department's true, like whatwe we had one art teacher and like
maybe a spiral notebook. I don'tknow. I remember, I mean,
I remember taking art class and thinkingI was good at it, and now
I don't know where that talent went. But I don't know, I mean,
I don't know that we had anart department. I'm not sure.

(26:07):
Yeah, I mean I went toa really really tiny school, but that's
pretty into an art department. Blowsyour mind? Mind blown? Uh?
Yes, I agree with everything.Okay. Did you ever notice that the
bags that they use in Hallmark movies? I just started like really noticing this,
and they do it in this movie. The bags they use for shopping

(26:30):
bags like you go out and buystuff, are actually not shopping bags you
typically get in a store. Theyare the bad like gift bag bags.
Yeah, I've not. I meanI hadn't notice that, but now that
you said it, I do.Yeah, with tissue paper in them,
so you gifts wrap. Yeah, they get their gifts wrapped at the store.
I just but sometimes in movies, but then they have a gift wrapping

(26:51):
scene, yes, or they takeout what's in the thing. Like I
was just watching A Family for Christmas, one of my favorite Lacy Shaver movies,
and she comes in with her giftbags and then takes that a little
mini tree. Mmmm. What who'susing these bags? Those costs money?
I mean I would Yeah, thenumber of times I've given you a gift

(27:12):
and you're like, I'm pretty sure, I gave you this gift bag.
Oh, me and you and Katinka, your sister. It's just back and
forth, back and forth. Someof our bags have stuff like ripped off.
Yeah. Yeah, well that's thegreat thing about bags. Oh,
I have so many things. ButI think this is what I want to

(27:33):
address next. I've decided in oursecond season of the Pod that I am
no longer going to get mad aboutfake snow, you know, because that
was always a thing for me whereI was like, that's it's either an
area that would not be getting snow, it's actually fake. No one yes,
no one's hair is kidding, wet, your car is clean, but

(27:53):
it's there's no all that stuff.I'm I'm releasing it. It looks pretty
and I like it. What Iwill not give up on this. Something
I don't think we've talked about enoughon the pod, but we talk about
a lot is the wardrobe. Andby wardrobe, I mean, what are
these women wearing in every homework moviewhen there's clearly seventeen feet of snow outside

(28:18):
bake or not, and they arewearing sleeveless party dresses, dresses to work
work, no stockings or anything, which I'm there for I hate wearing stockings,
but you know, the snow andthen they're like five inch heels,
But it's really the sleeveless party dresses. I actually have that written that.
I really also think, and I'mlike, you know, I love CCB,

(28:42):
Like she's on my list. IfI could have five people to dinner,
she's one of them. But Ithink she has to have it written
in her contracts or else. Shehas like a lot of the creative authority
to be like if I'm in thismovie, I'm going to wear Christmas party
dresses to work, and everyone elsehas to wear work attire so that I
look back her, and then atevery party I go to, I have

(29:02):
to be She's always just one leveldressed above everyone else, Like at the
ugly Christmas sweater stuffy party she hason that cute skirt and the ugly Christmas
even Greg was like, well youkind of it doesn't work because you look
great, and I heard yeah,And so I'm like it has to be
in every movie that she's like, one, I want to look better than

(29:23):
everyone. I want to be moreoverdressed than everyone. Yeah, and three
I'm wearing a sleeveless party dress tomy corporate job, like it's normal.
I've worked a lot of corporate jobs, and I've never seen anyone. No,
I've worked both corporate and nonprofit anddefinitely not nonprofit. Yeah no,
no corporate. No. I mean, in fact, some of this stuff

(29:47):
that they wear on homework would beagainst dress codes. Oh yeah. Or
people would just be like, doyou believe what she's wearing today? Like
why don't you have a suit jacketover that? Yeah? But like the
first scene, even she has pantson, but she she has these like
satin ruffled sleeveless sleeve and even likeher assistant comes up, she's just wearing
you know, like khakis in asweater or something. I would be very

(30:10):
upset a faster movie with CCP,because it's like, you gotta dress your
ab and some means gonna look amazing. Yeah, but I do want to
ask you what you thought of thescene where she is with the infamous Jasper
the Jasper Project, and she's wearinga red dress with very large puffy sleeves.
They're not quite as large as theear muffs that were seeing last year.

(30:34):
How'd you feel about it? Imean, obviously I would never ever
wear that, especially I have broadshoulders, like, I'm not trying to
look make them look any bigger, but she somehow pulls it off. I
really like she almost anything. Partof it, too, is that her
lipstick matches that dress perfectly, Likeit's uncanny, and I just watch her

(30:56):
lips the whole time because I'm like, where what lipstick brand is that?
She really has a lipstick brand. That's probably where on QVC. So I
do give her props for that, but yeah, I think we need to
really start pointing out more the sleevelessdresses. Do you know that the one
where I think is the most egregiousin all Hallmark movies is your favorite?

(31:18):
Let it snow when they're at Christmasdinner and everybody's wearing le sweaters and she's
literally or somewhere and she literally hason like I think it's like a blue
it does have it's not sleeveless, but it has like straps. Yeah,
party dress. I mean that's themost egregious. And on Christmas when you're

(31:38):
gonna eat a lot. Yeah, she should be wearing sweatpants like Kate.
Yeah, let me see, Iknow so many great things. Okay,
So in terms of where they're living. First off, Chris is a teacher,
so I need to know what herex husband does because their house is

(32:00):
humongous and amazing, but they nevershow the roof. I always want to
see all the shots they cut offthe roof. But it's this huge,
green, beautiful house. And she'slike, I never have time for my
health itself. But like her wholehouse is decorated, and I'm like,
where did she get her money?Teachers are underpaid, Like that house is

(32:20):
that rivals the McAllister's house and homealone. I mean, it is a
great house. Do you think shegets extra money for helping plam winter Wonderland?
He should, That's how she fundsthat house. And then Kate's condo,
which had not nearry a Christmas decorationin it. Do you know what
it reminded me of? It waslike the female version of I don't know

(32:44):
the name of the movie, butyou're gonna know it, the one with
Jesse Metcalf from Desperate Housewives where hehas like Christmas next door or something like
that. Yeah, it's like thefemale version of yeah, of that where
he lived very modern industrial Yeah.Actually I was going to ask you what
you thought of the seven hundred verylarge fluffy pillows on her couch. I

(33:07):
feel like that's there's like and Imean I love a throw pillow, and
I like a fluffy throw pillow.Furry. They're like furry, which we'll
get all over everything. But Imean there's like a million even for me.
I was like, wow, youcan notice them viewers, I mean
listeners after I believe the baking montage, Okay, they fall back in ecstasy

(33:32):
onto the couch with the furry pillows. Do you know? I was reading
something recently and they asked, Ithink middle schoolers, like how do you
know when you're old? And oneof the answers supposed to start caring about
throw pillows. Oh man, Iknow. Yeah, okay, I have

(33:57):
another thing besides not giving up ontalking about inappropriate fashion. I will never
get over this. And this isthe Christmas eve fill in the blook.
Oh yeah, I thought about youwhen this happened. And the timing of
this Christmas eve fill in the blankwas so weird. It is very weird.
Like, Okay, I don't knowif I've talked about this before,

(34:19):
but if I have, sorry,and if I haven't, great. I
am Italian. Oh yeah. Yeah. So in my family, the actually
kind of more important day is ChristmasEve because that's when we have the Feast
of the Seven Fishes, and I'lllike, we literally cook all day.
And if I had ever come homeand said to my mom, like,

(34:40):
I have to be in this schoolpageant or do the Winter wonderling ud or
whatever, she would have just beenlike, no, you would have done
and you would have been like,no, I have to be it.
It's a pageant, I have tobe in it. Yeah, I'm playing
a rocket. Well that's a wholedifferent thing. She would have let me
do that. But actually nobody inmy town would have gotten into because almost

(35:00):
everybody in my small hometown is alsoso we were all doing that. So
I do have an issue that this, and I have a question. So
the Winter wonder Land is Christmas Eve? Does it go beyond that? Or
is all that work just for theone night? I was just assumed it
was the one night. And it'sso crazy one that we start out,

(35:22):
and it's less than two weeks awayfrom the Winter Wonderland, so let's say
a week and a half. Kidsare already out of school. So I'm
like, I wish i'd gone toschool in the Littleton School District and got
yeah, no kidding because she's likelast day of classes, yus yesterday.
Also, it's like even though TomKinder of the Tom Kinder Fiasco did upgrade
this party, it's a pretty bigdeal and they hadn't penned it yet,

(35:43):
And the same for the work party, Like it was just weird that these
things hadn't even started to be plannedyet. Yeah, like the Santa's Village
and all that stuff should have beenbuilt. And I know they were planning
on mixing the ice rink before mistermoney Bags gave them money for you know,
the little ice patch, but likethere was a lot that went into

(36:04):
it. There's hot Cocoa corner. There was Sanna's Village I think, and
Sanna and missus Claw is standing therewith no children in lines. You notice
that weird? Yeah, And thenalso with that timing, so the office
Christmas party, well, first ofall, the day before or maybe the

(36:24):
morning of Chris playing Kate and what'shis name, what's his name, Gregg
Hot architect, Greg Hot Architect,Greg. They are like literally putting tablecloths
down and like decorating. They're havingit at this like fancy location which they've
talked about earlier in the movie. They would not be doing, no,

(36:46):
not how that works. Maybe bringingin the gingerbread houses, but that's it.
And then the party starts where shegoes home and picks her sweater which
I'm just so in love with thatred spec She looked, yeah, and
I'd wear it with my sparkle beray. It's not a sparkle bray. And

(37:08):
then so they're there and that partyhas started. Also weird to have an
office party on Christmas Eve, right, Usually office parties are actually pretty early,
yeah yeah, like a December fifth, December tenth, yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, but whatever,So they're having theres on Christmas Eve.
The next scene is Hate playing Chris. She's in like sort of a

(37:28):
pizza shop or coffee place, Idon't know where. She is with her
nephew, and then Evil Tom Kinderwalks in with his son and they like
go off to play video game andthey're just like kind of shooting the breeze,
like, hey, is winter one. It's obviously Christmas Eve because office
holiday party is going on. Whyaren't you stressed out if I'm having like

(37:52):
one person over for dinner? Anhour before I am stressed out. Oh
yeah, so what the what whathappening? Maybe they were like, you
know what, We've done everything wecan. Let's go gell out at the
pizza shop. I guess yeah,I'm all town. So yeah, I'm
not kidding. I will never getover having things on Christmas. Yeah,

(38:15):
okay, yeah all right? GregOr Tom no easy? Greg? Yeah?
Yeah, Tom sucks comes awful andyou know, but it's interesting because
most interviews I've read about this moviethat people are like, I know,
say no to Tom, yeah, and they yeah. I also, I
mean he was always wearing like abrown turtleneck with like a brown jacket and

(38:37):
a brown scarf that was like tiedjust right. I just hated Tom's wardrobe.
But I know we talk about Lifetimea lot, but I I truly
could see him starring as like thecomes off as great guy, but is
murderer in like a Lifetime movie.Tom Kinder not the actor, Like I

(38:59):
could see the Tom Kinder character beinglike a crazy soccer creepy got He would
be like, I'm an angel investor, I met you twenty years ago for
one day, I'm going to killyou, and I do in my basement,
but I will fund your project.Yeah, so that was an easy

(39:20):
question, Greg, hands down,Yeah, totally. I also noticed more
wardrobe. I think it's supposed tobe a Saturday, a Saturday or a
Sunday when they're doing I don't knowif it's when she's decorating her sister's condo
or making the gingerbread, but sheis wearing her best satin blouse with yoga

(39:40):
pants, right ex, all right, should we talk about Principal Sumner.
Let's talk about him. He sucks. Yeah, yeah, and my notes
I have that he is what doI have? He is wishy, washy,
flippy floppy. He does not knowwhat he wants with Winter Wonderland because

(40:02):
in the beginning, Chris is all, I have all these changes, I
have all these ideas. Let's dosomething new, and he's like, no,
yeah, do that. Then hegets the money from Tom Kinder of
the Tom Kinder fiasco, and he'slike, Okay, he wants to make
these changes, let's do it.Yeah. Then Kate playing Chris makes changes

(40:23):
and he's like, that's too much. What are you doing? No one's
going to come to this, Sowhat does he want? I think he's
just scared of change, and healso likes the money, and maybe it's
time to stop Winter Wonderland the Carnival. Yeah, Tom Kender's not letting that
happen because he is going to givea lot of money until his kid is

(40:45):
the most popular and then he maybecould address this splash shortage. Yes,
what else do you have? Ihave a few other small things I did
enjoy that I think twice in themovie maybe more. Kate and Chris explain
the sister swap as saying that, well, we're you know, we're doing
this because our dead mom wanted usto spend more time together. Yes,

(41:08):
I have the same they were living. They literally just swapped lives and lived
apart. They were spending zero percentmore time together. Now that they did
spend a lot of time on thephone together, but that's just not a
good excuse because you're not actually spendingany more time together. You're going off
on your separate lives, just differentseparate lives. Yeah, exactly. Even

(41:32):
like when like the dad who inthe beginning of the movie is like,
you need to spend more time together, and then Kate is explaining to him
that they've swapped and this is howthey're spending more time together and he's just
like yeah, yeah, He's likethat makes sense. Yeah, no,
Dad, it doesn't. Did younotice that they have I mean, these

(41:52):
are identical twins who are adults, and most identical twins I know who are
adults really have some for personalities, which they do. I don't actually know
any, but I believe you.And usually they have grown out of looking
a lot like unless you're Darcy andStacy from TLC. That's a whole other

(42:13):
story. But in this movie theyhave and for two people who've been estranged
for I'm not really sure how long, but they have the exact same hair
length, the exact same layers, and the same highlight. That's hard to
do, so that's in gen Onejust wears her hair and ponytail and the
other one wears it down. Let'ssee anything else, you know. They're

(42:39):
on the phone again and Hat seeshot architect Greg walk into the the condo
and then she's like, we cannotdo any romances. Yeah, like this
is too complicated, and like thenext scene is like like that whole pack
just goes away immediately. It's calledTom, I'm gonna call Greg, all

(43:04):
right, I have two more questionsfor you. Yes, okay, who
do you think? CCB said thatshe relates to more Chris or Kate.
Well, I happen to read thisinterview. Oh I know, do you
think the listeners? No, Ithink if you're a big CCPE fan,
you could guess easily, yeah thatit is. Well, yeah, well

(43:28):
I did have a moment where Ithought it could be Kate because CCB has
a lot of ventures outside of acting. That's true. She has to be
kind of boss and she does loveto wear like, you know, party
dresses, yeah, with leaveless partydresses. But it's Chris because she is
a mom of three. And Chrisis a mom and she has a lot

(43:49):
of family and love surrounding her.Mm hmm. Okay, wait, you
know what we should ask. Weshould ask our listeners. They can go
to our socials at Hallmark Junkies onand Facebook and Instagram and tell us which
twin you liked better. Who wouldyou want to Who would you want to
be friends with? Chris? Iactually have to think about that. I'm

(44:12):
going Chriss. I feel like Katewould maybe take me to a spa.
That's true. But she said thatshe spent all her time working, and
even her spot days were for work, except for when she went to that
hotel in Iceland. Great device. All right, whose wardrobe did you like
better, Chris or Kate? ActuallyI liked Chriss better because me too,

(44:36):
That's what I would wear. Yeah, exactly, I would never And Kate
had a lot of cute topps, but a lot of like that statiny no,
but I don't look it in thatOh wow, there you go,
breaking news. I liked Chris Isbetter too. It looked cute and she
did not cuter As the movie wenton. She did a lot of the
stuff in in Christmas under Wraps, where it's like she wears kind of like

(44:59):
a a I don't know what youcall a blouse under a sweater and she
pulls it off. Well, thatwould look awful on me. But still
I like her wardrope better. Yeah, let's move on, okay and go
to romance when I want. Let'sdo it. We have an exciting announcement.

(45:19):
It depends on when you are listeningto this podcast episode. But I
have a new book that is comingout. Slash came out on Tuesday,
November twenty eighth. I knew youhad a book coming out. I didn't
know the day, And what isthe book? What is the what is
the name? The title? Sorry? This is book three in a series
that I started a couple of yearsago called Something True, and it is

(45:44):
called the Daddy Project. This isa three book series, and I had
done the first two books a coupleof years ago. One is called The
Dating Arrangement and one is called TheWedding Truths. Oh I think I read
well? I don't think I knowI read those of those. Yes,
So okay. So that actually segueswell because this movie actually wasn't based on

(46:07):
a book, which we know alot of these are. That's how we
kind of talk usually about romance whenI want. But there was a book
featured in it, which was DogSleds to Dallas, which we both love.
That that was the title of thatbook. I know, I don't
want to read that book. Ijust want to know, like what's it
about it, you know? Orwhat genre is it in? Like is
it a kid's book? I don'tknow anyway, So how did you come

(46:29):
up with your title? Or generallyhow do you come up with titles?
That's actually funny because that's one ofthe biggest questions I get. So I
should give you a fun fact first, which is I am horrible at remembering
titles of books and movies, includingmy own. But there's a lot of
different ways that you get your titleto your book. So well. I

(46:50):
should also say some authors are veryprotective of their titles, like that's their
baby. Like I name this dogSlads to Dallas. You are not changing
it? Yeah, like dog Sledsto Denver. Yeah. I am not
one of these people. I reallydon't care. I tend to fall back
on my publisher because if you're workingwith a good publisher, they first of

(47:12):
all sort of know the trends. They know what what title would draw someone's
attention if they're going down through Amazon. So I tend to rely on other
people. Then you have like ifyou've written a series, maybe you want
your titles to sort of relate toeach other, like right, right right,
Book one Dogs Leads to Dallas, and book two is Automobiles to Alabama,

(47:36):
and book and whatever. So Idid want to do with this one.
I wanted to kind of say,in the same realm, the first
book is the Dating Arrangement, thenext one's the Wedding Truth and then the
Daddy Project. So it's kind ofa book, a dating book, a
wedding book, and a children dabbook. Yeah. This my book,
by the way I should say,is about a single father who has twins,

(47:57):
oh identical or they they are girland boy, four year old twins,
and she is single and starting herlife over after getting divorced. Okay,
yeah, but yeah, So fortitles, for me, I I
do struggle, but my publishers havealways sort of asked me first, like

(48:22):
for some ideas, and so I'llbrainstorm sometimes I think I have brainstorm.
You have brainstorm with me? Youlove with titles? Yeah, yeah,
we have a good one if whenwe get to it it's not out yet.
But me and you and Tinka,oh yeah, I have all brainstormed
a lot mm hm. And thenI'll send a list to them and sometimes
they're like, you know, they'llstart three of them and then they'll let

(48:45):
me pick from that, or sometimesI'll send the list to them and they
hate all of them, so theywill come up with maybe three and send
to me and I'll like one andthat's usually how it goes. The other
thing I do when I'm trying tocome up with the title. Is I
go on Amazon, like if Icome up with something and type it in
and see if there's a book,Yeah, and sometimes usually there is.

(49:06):
But if it's like from twenty yearsago, fine, if it's from last
year new yeah, yeah. Sothat's generally my experience with titles. Do
you think that Dogs Lets to Dallasis a good title? You know?
Again, it depends on what genreI think it is because it is intriguing,
like it makes me wander a littlebit, like then if it was
just it would have a cute cover. Yeah. I do feel like maybe

(49:27):
it's a children's book. I don'tknow, Yeah, who knows. I
wonder how they come up with themovie titles. Yeah, well, the
movie titles are interesting to me becauselike sometimes it has a very specific thing
it's talking about, and then it'sjust called like Christmas candy canes and there's
like no candy canes in the movie, where it's like Christmas is here,

(49:47):
and it's like all right. Iwill say my favorites, and I think
ours that we we'd like to likejoke about are the ones where it's a
classic book title, like sense sensibilityof Snowmen, Prejudice and missiletoe. Mm
hmmm. I think we came upwith More in Peace and Christmas threes.
That's for my project that is notout yet, but hopefully we get to

(50:09):
talk about soon. Yeah, thatprobably won't be the title, but I'm
gonna I'm gonna send it in.It will be a Hallmark title one day.
More in Peace than Christmas three?Oh my god, I love it
so much? All right? Isthat it? I think? So?
All right? Well, then Ishould probably say again. I have a

(50:31):
book coming out slash maybe came outalready. If you're listening to this later
November twenty eighth. It's called TheDaddy Project by Carrie Carpenter and you can
find out more about it at carriecarpenterdot com, my social media at author
Carrie at the Hallmark Junkies social media, and you can go to Amazon,

(50:52):
Barnes and Noble, Hobo, smashWords anywhere ebooks are sold. Thanks for
letting me heart here first, allright, and thanks to everyone for listening
to our podcast. We would loveit if you would give us the rating.
And we're so happy to be backfor this. Yeah, we are
happy to be back. That's allright, well, this is Jenny Sink

(51:13):
cheers, and this is Scary sayingwe'll see y ins the next time.
Merry Christmas,
