Speaker 1 (00:02):
What is up everyone?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm Ramon and this is.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
We had such an incredible conversation with our girl, Galle
three time Grammy nominated, collaborated with pretty much every single
line of artists.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Lol.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
She has an absolute icon. We were talking all things authenticity.
It was so good we needed to turn this into
a two parter. So here's the rest of our conversation.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I want to know. We moved here, we started knocking
on doors.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
So how did that all come about? What do you
mean by knocking on doors? Who did you contact? Who
did you network with? And how did that first opportunity
come about to then start working with other artists.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
It's hard, It's been a ride, a journey. And I
used to record this demos and like eight demos and closet.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
We loved, we loved it.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
The soundproofing were her follows from the eighties.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
Yes, I have a photo and I can share it
with you. I think it's like the first photo in
my camera role right now after having hundreds and hundreds
of pictures. But yeah, I used to just I had
like a little setup and I used to record and
do this, like record this demos and songs. And what
(01:31):
I did was like when I say, start knocking on doors,
like doing some research, sending some emails, trying to get
a meeting, like hey, listen to the songs that I have,
like I don't know, I think they have potential. I
don't know. I would like to write for other artists,
even though I've never done that before. In that moment,
(01:52):
and I went to a couple of different publishing companies
like Sony ATV or Chapel or Pure Music, Pure Music.
And because he Julio, he saw, he saw, he listened,
(02:13):
he heard those songs that now I listened to it,
I'm like, oh Jesus, how but he saw something and
heard something and he was like, you're like Prince, but
a girl, a woman.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
And I'm like.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
No, but thank you.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Wow the wow.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
But because Prince used to play every freaking instrument, I
only played guitars and piano and I sang. But he
was so excited and then he was like he heard
the songs. He's like, we have a session here tomorrow
with Fanny Lou. Would you like to be a part
of it? And of course inside I was like no,
I'm not ready. Are you getting me? I can't do this?
And I was like yes, of course I would love
to be a part of it, and then you up
(02:55):
immediately of course after but then that day it went great.
So from that first session, I will forever be grateful.
But even though I didn't sign with them, eventually I
worked a lot for two years, I did sessions with
(03:15):
a lot of people, and then I started getting attention
from these publishers, and then I made the decision with
the publisher that I am currently signed with kiz Werner TEPL.
But and that's as a songwriter, as an artist with
Sony Music Latin, which is a great family par am Yeah,
(03:37):
I mean that was the first session and then everything
was word of mouth.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
That's also a lesson on like creating and just like
putting things out there, because I think as creatives, it
doesn't matter what kind of art you're making. Like a
lot of times people feel a little frozen because they
think like things suck at first, or like in reality,
like we all start somewhere right one.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
You just have to know that that's part of the
process and part of the journey. And it's very hard
to say it now, but you shouldn't judge, and I
feel like I didn't judge those demos because I judge
them now, but I didn't. I was like, no, this
is what I need to do, and I want the
upper chair. I'm gonna go and get it. So yes,
it's like a mindset. And of course I was like,
(04:30):
oh my god, these songs sound terrible, but it is
what I needed to do and it was so good
that I just let it happen like that, and I
wasn't judged mental about that or the journey or everything.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Out of all of the artists that I named in
the beginning of the show, who what experience opportunity to
work with that named artist was your wow moment?
Speaker 5 (04:57):
I've had a lot of wow moments, but with Gracias
Adios and Yo again that n was so happy.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
How did you even show up to that session? I
would have been trembling, like like literally like Blanca.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Like, uh no, I I am very professional with that.
I will never say show. I'm like there and we're
talking and every I'm never gonna be like starstruck, thank god. No.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, but like you know, you're like, how do I
just sitting there holding your composure that you're going to
be acting strange, especially.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
When when I sang the demo of the song. We're
presenting this to her and she's like, who's singing? And
you know, the people in the session was like ya,
this is God and I was like yeah, and she
was like what a beautiful voice. And I was like
thank you. Sorry again inside like me like I was upsided,
(06:07):
like oh my, you know the posters and I was
like thank you.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I love your voice too, every mile a second of
all of your choreography.
Speaker 6 (06:19):
Do you remember, lizim maguire, Yes, yes, sure, yes.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
I wrote a song during the pandemic with Dallas K
and George Berrios, a song called Santo, and we pitched
it to her project. And by pitch, I mean like
send it to my the A n R s and
the publishers, and they are looking. They work with other
artists and they're like, oh, I think this might be
a nice fit for this artist that I'm working on.
(06:54):
And it was christ and this song was Santo that
she performed with Osna, and then from that song they
started creating all these different sessions and things in Miami
and then they invited me and that's when I met
her and we wrote like we were two days working
and it was awesome. But I think that another artist,
and I have to say it is Shakira because she's
(07:15):
been one of my favorites. She's a great artist, beautiful persona.
From that first session that we had in Miami, they
inmighted me. We clicked immediately, we clicked, and then she
invited me to Barcelona when she was still living there,
and then we wrote up there and and it was song,
(07:36):
it was thank you, and it was just awesome. So
we've had like when people ask me how it was, like,
how how did that opening for her tour happen? For
this shows, I'm like, well, we've had a relationship for
years now and and she's always she was always interested.
(07:56):
I was I didn't release my artista when I was
there in Barcelona, I was about to. I was about to.
I had just signed with Sony. It was like happening.
So I showed the I showed her a couple of songs,
so she was interested. She hurt them. She was like excited,
she heard him Malouda, she heard. She's like so she's
been a part of it too since the beginning. So
(08:18):
this when this opportunity comes and people are I was
like a lot of teamwork, but also a lot of
like time and effort and relationship.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yeah, it's just something that happened organically for you after
building that relationship. How did you feel when you were
on like what No, how did you feel when you
got the call?
Speaker 5 (08:35):
I was training and I and I see it and
get stand manager, se I'm going to finish training. I'll
be done in like five minutes.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, seriously, That's that's called commitment.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
But then they keep calling and I'm like okay, and
I go out and then it's like, she's like and
then they give me the newsam for face them? So
I thought I would like, it's something terrible or something amazing.
I don't know. And then but I was so happy.
(09:15):
I immediately called my mom, may my dad.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
That's huge.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Yeah, it was incredible.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Did your parents fly to see you perform?
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yes, my mom, my mom, and my besties they go everywhere.
My friend they went to Marin. Oh my god, they're
always friends. Yeah, I do. It's such a blessing.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I love that that so much.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I think a through line for your story and your
career is like authenticity. When I decided to kind of
like dive a little bit more into my community and
the world of fitness. That's when I feel like the
doors really started opening up for me and I found
like my home, just like being myself with.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Melely.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Also in the broadcasting space, she's able to show up
as herself, which means so much for like so many
Latinas and women in sport in a place that's very
heavily like male dominated. How do you feel that authenticity
has taken you to where you're at today?
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Oh my god, I feel like it's the most one
of the most important things, because I feel like you
achieve that staying in touch with your roots and where
you come from and who you are and your emotions
and everything that you have, and that makes you you right.
That sometimes can be so scary because for some reason
(10:41):
we start and tend to compare ourselves to whatever whoever,
And I feel like that's also normal. But once you
know that that's normal and you recognize it's like, wait,
I am my own person, I have my own journey,
I have all these things to give. People can't connect
with me because I don't know sometimes they go through
(11:02):
the same things that I'm going, Like, we are all
not that different, even though we are all unique, and
in my case, I'm thinking music wise and writing songs
and writing these feelings that I'm going through and it's
so personal. Yet someone when someone hears it's like I'm
going through the same thing, it's like, oh my god,
it's so cool that we're not that different and we
(11:26):
can all co exist in the same space. I feel
like now there's there's always been space, but now even
more fors Ascid, Spasio Industria and like I said, like
(11:46):
their space for everyone E just like strictly being like
this is what I stand for because that might change tomorrow.
Also like giving you space to grow and evolve.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Now, when it comes to the world of everything, I
don't know, certain things are trending. You know, everything's on
social media TikTok trends and specifically in your space where
you know, you're like trying to be trending, trying to
catch things that are viral. But how do you still
stay authentic to yourself while also keeping.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You gotta be smart?
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Yeah, you gotta be aware of what's happening. You know
in the world.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Ever said, Oh my god, this this is a heavy
question because it is overwhelming. Everything is happening so fast.
I feel like you just have to respect and as
your journey and your process and how do you stay
(12:50):
like how do you kiva so listening? Okay, it's called
and it likes. So you have to show up. You
(13:18):
have to look for the opportunity. You have to do
it and commit and know that is I guess it disciplina,
which is important.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
One of the things that you mentioned too, is about
like evolution. Right, So it's clear that you have to
find like confidence in your authenticity or like in your
identity and.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Who you are.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
But how do you show up authentically in places that
are really challenging you, places you've never been before. You
yourself when you're stepping into these rooms or you're stepping
in for the maybe the first time that you stepped
into a tour stadium where you were like maybe you
had that moment of imposter syndrome. Now you're like, what
the fuck am I doing here? Like this is crazy?
(14:09):
You know, how do you how do you find confidence
in authenticity in those moments?
Speaker 5 (14:16):
What works for me and I have to talk. What
works for me is trying to remember why you started
doing it in the first place. I mean, maybe it
happens with you two that you go back to when
you were a kid and and you you tap into
this passion and that takes goose. That's so good. And
(14:41):
then that's a great thing because sometimes there's so much
rido and and everything is happening so fast that you
kind of forget to go back to that, and there
needs to be a moment of pause in all this
(15:04):
madness and all this rush. I feel like, and it's
important to take it or to make it, to create
this moment of pause and e and then theirs and
sometimes it's get la passion complain though, like in a way,
(15:26):
this is a little step in this way, that's how
I connect.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I always say to live with passion. Even when people
are trying to figure out what do they want to
do in life? You know what's the reason to wake
up out of bed? Obviously it could be for your friends,
for your family, for your kids, but also you know
what's the nine to five do you have to do
right to make a living? And I've always said my
advice was, you know, live with passion. Try to find
that passion and live it out. And you're absolutely doing that.
(15:54):
And you've known your passion since you were seven or
even younger.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
You were in your mom's womb. I think for your
moment to come.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Out of the room dancing to be there, you are
definitely composed of fire.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Ass tracts to your mother's heartbeat for sure, Like.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
She's like, why is this baby kicking so much? Love?
Was the choreo.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
And I say the same thing. First thing that when
I when I get asked, I'm okay, describe yourself in
a word or something. My first word is always passionate,
So I guess it's there, Like.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I have so much respect for that.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
I'm like, we need to stop trying to be cool
and just be passionate about the things that we care
about and just like go.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
All in to the things.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
That we care about.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I am oh, disagree with me if you will agree,
but that's my opinion.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Thank you so much. Be passionate.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Can we talk about your newest single?
Speaker 5 (16:58):
It would be very cool if we talk about buen Lada,
says guitar Ram. It feels a little bit more classic
and inteed, p your career create so they get to
the ther help or the pinta the hell the thing
(17:24):
coma basal has a PERSONA personas as a feeling can come.
Possibly a bass no okay, okay, as come o the
(17:48):
b there algo you know that? No, it is scenario
Domingo Comms giveser.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
How many tracks are we getting?
Speaker 5 (18:28):
Oh my god, bro, like twelve, there's a lot of work,
it is. I've been working on this like for a
couple of years now. I'm like, I'm ready.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Speaking about working. How do you normally collaborate with other
artists when it comes to the writing process. So you
just mentioned you know, you wrote the song.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Cool, but how does it work? What is that dynamic?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Like, it's always different. It's a lot of listening and
a lot of it's a judgment free zone.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Like it's just like.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
And the albums with prompts because I wanted to do
something creative and different, and I wrote all these things
from I don't know the universe, and so was very creative, like,
(19:44):
for example, one of the songs or one of the
sal and in my take like that sound that when
you're driving towards the sunset and the and the windows down, Yes,
a feeling a vibe, said Mass And this says this
(20:13):
is like a great, great cool. Yeah. But then when
we're writing, when I'm writing for other artists as a songwriter.
There's a lot of hopefully conversation in the first hour
or two hours of the session, and you have to
create this safe space and like vulnerable, like it's okay
to be vulnerable hopefully from that conversation. Sally Melodia, This
(20:44):
is it's always different, but it's the most fun.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
That sounds so fun.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Honestly, it is fun and it's nerve wracking.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
I'm always I love a good like brainstorming session too,
just like you like sit down and like pour out ideas.
I think too, like that's that's I think it's like
something that doesn't happen enough with adults, like creative moments
where we can just like interact with each other and
like do fun things together. I mean, obviously you're doing
this for a career and you're a professional and your
(21:13):
friends are professionals too. But I was watching a video
about with Benny Blanco that he was talking about like
if it's not fun, we're taking a snack break, or
like we're gonna take a beat and like that we're
not containing if like someone's not having fun or it
starts to feel too much like work, like work, canceling the.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
Day pizza yea you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
I mean that sounds really relatable in that casereaks like
five minute break. It's important to me, especially because I
have ADHD and I don't know mymerico.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
This is.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
I do need these breaks, but I gave guide.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
It's so true, especially so many distractions this day and age.
I'm like, girl, please, I'm so many. My mind goes
everywhere everywhere.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I have to say that I really love sa cool.
But there's a new preview that you started posting, like
I grab her, grab me by the hair.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Gods, I go in the.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Back of the scooter or golf court or wherever, and
Panya and I was like, that's my vibe. I need
that one to drop today. When are you dropping that?
Speaker 5 (22:34):
Oh my god? Soon, let's say maybe next month, Okay, okay, perfect.
I'm so excited. Yeah, we've been seeing it and I
performed it in this in the tour. Everyone is asking
for that song.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
And I uploaded a video showing like snippets of a
couple of the new songs that are not out, like
unreleased songs, like four of them, and I asked like,
please help me choose sell like my my next single.
This would be great here they are, and I did
a couple of snippets.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
And that one like it was.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
Everyone was like, that's what and I was like, Okay.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Maybe I do need to listen to them. Yes, conclusion,
that's what we want.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Baby.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
So wait, speaking about that, what inspired you to write
those lyrics?
Speaker 5 (23:29):
I wanted to write a song. It sounds so funny
because those are the lyrics in the chorus. But even
though it's a fun song, it's a song about being
in the great area with someone and being like just
tell me yes or no, Like I hate thing right here.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
We love good communications, yes, yes and.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
No. So it's a song about Parsona. No, Dad, they
see the thing. Tell you. It's so fun. I can't
wait to keep performing that song.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Under should we do our rapid fire? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Absolutely, we have questions we want to ask you.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Oh my god, I'm nervous. Let's rapid fire, little warm.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Little physical.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
We're stretching right now.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Everyone got has got ham strinkpossibility.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Yeah right, Yeah, we need to train.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
To can do the splits.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I would love that you can do the splits on
both legs.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Just I used to because I used to dance, I
used to play volleyball, too growing up, and my parents
were like, or sports volleyball is big and better. I
used to love it.
Speaker 6 (24:45):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
I was the captain on my team.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yes, she was talking about have sech leader.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
But it was crazy because my personality wasn't like yeah
it was it was like leader vibes. Yeah, never mind.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
But you were like I was like, yeah I was,
but yeah, you would be like huddle, huddle, then you
give your your speech.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
And when they would stop in the game and then
and my captain was like, you have to go.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
You're the captain.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
I'm what's going on anyway? You girls?
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah, chose music.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Still got the splits, Oh, the right, the right boom. Yeah.
When I used to dance. But get my.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
I see.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
It is tough.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Some people got open hips.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
I don't got the open hips.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
I got it.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
You got the open hips blast, but now I lost
it a little bit.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
But I'm still flexible there.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
You can get it back.
Speaker 5 (25:44):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Well, the first time that you do a split on stage,
I want you to close your eyes and be like
Camilla is so proud of me right now because I
have a feeling it's gonna happen one day. So just
like the first day that you do a split. I
would just want you to have both of us in
your head like this.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
She's be front of.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
And I'll be like, yeah, they're like a man.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
We say co ops.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Before rapid fires. Talk about volleyball. Do you ever stipp
it was a quart.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
Or beachra know the court court defense? Yeah, that's still
that mile.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
It's a bo.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
Hate we hate, we hate ball, but it was so
fun anyway, the fence when but see it's.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah, you know, do.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
You ever stipply? Let's do it?
Speaker 3 (26:55):
When oh god, I have terrible hand our coordination.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
I don't want to play. That's so we'll get you.
We'll get you, Let's do it. I'm down to beach
probably twice since I've moved here, and I've absolutely loved it.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
But Melissa's good at everything.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Bro, She's so good in sports.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
She's gonna asked like sports. She was like, Mama, do
you want to come? And I'm like, no, bitch, I
know that you're gonna be fuck beaming the ball at me,
and then she's gonna get frustrated and done it.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
I want to.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I want to. I love it and.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Cool, just.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Perfect, Okay, you go first, ready, nerves three two.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
One favorite collaboration as an artist. Oh my god, this
is rapid fire. I'm just letting it right now.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
I am an overthinker and this is the worst game
for me to play.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
But I have to say I love is Landia, a
song about overthinking with Robe, an artist from Puerto Rico.
I also love Portilla's do This with Lagos. Please listen
to that song with Lagos Venezuela. He go so talented
and there might be an upcoming surprises collapse in the album.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
But you can't say the name.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Okay, Oh, oh my god, I'm a sagittarius, but you
can't do that to me.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Fine.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Favorite song right now.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Favorite song right now, so good, I'm addicted.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Do you know what a girl is?
Speaker 2 (28:30):
It's a great question.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
It is a great question. I think of the movie,
but I don't know he's talking.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
I just say it. I singing.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
I don't even know what if you see him, ask
ask him and let me know.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Let's do report back. Perfect favorite song of all time?
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Damn, I have many. First one that comes to my

get over it and move on, grow up. Yes, it
is so fun.

told her a joke from Puerto Rico. My husband told
me the show It's so funny, and I told my
grandma to say it so all of a sudden, it
was the cutest thing. Vision She's ninety five years old.
So I tell it to her and she says it back.
She goes, hm hmm, Nana, I'm saying, oh, say it. Oh,

My family was dying and like, honestly, I'm the only
one of our family that can get this out of
my grandma who's ninety five and like she said, she's
Aga who there's way more conservative, but I.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
Love so much?
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Was her name again?

And I will tell that Nan. I'm gonna try to
make my auillas do that.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Please. We can make this trend. We can make this trend.
Speaker 5 (32:51):

for the rest of my life. What a grow Obviously

Speaker 3 (33:43):
That's like a half day though, see you have day
not too much.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
We're not there yet, okay, so say like trying to
get there. If someone wanted to seduce you with the genre.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
What would it be?
Speaker 7 (33:55):
Oh, with the genre, yeah, poetry, romantic, that would be sick.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
The last question, I'm like, you're crying right now. What's happening?
Speaker 2 (34:27):
What's the song that your vision like you're listening to
in your brain?
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Wow? What the thing is that is the worst lyrics?
And it would be so cool and funny, like you
dare to do that?
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Great? Okay, now you know. Last question a little more serious.
When you think about your life, what do you think
is the main factor that contributed to your success?
Speaker 5 (34:57):
My passion and never giving up. Simple question, simple answer, simple,
but I mean there's a lot of more depth to that.
But knowing that it's like a rapid questions, Yeah, I
can keep for sure.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
I love that. I mean point take it a statement answer.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
That's intimidating.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
Uh And guess what, Mexico won back to back title defenders.
They beat the USA twenty six to twenty one. So Mexico,
that's massive. Leanna Flores, who was persona, she's the QB
and she threw some some like I don't know what
they call it because on soccer it's obviously a different terminology,
(38:02):
but like I saw some replace in some highlights and
the way that she just I don't know, leads that
team one but also to you know, from the QB
position just throws and sees that vision.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Of course, everybody else on that team they crush.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Mexicana's final results Mexico first place, second place, United States,
third place, Canada, fourth place, Austria. So you could see
women from all over the world crushing it in women's
flag football.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Shout out women in sports, baby.
