Speaker 1 (00:17):
Hello, my friends, Welcome back to another episode of Haunting.
It has been crazy in Purgatory, you guys. I had
no idea, but the afterlife goes hard for Saint Patti's Day. Typically,
I'm not a big Saint Patty's girl, ever since the
year I got kicked in the face by a belligerent
Irish answer. They do not mess around with that front
click move. But here it's a different beast, and I
(00:39):
mean that literally. Saint Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland.
But of course we're all undead abominations, which doesn't really fly.
So in Purgatory we celebrate what's called Feast of the
Our Talk Day. It's basically the same thing, only it
falls the day after Saint Patti's Day, and instead of green,
everyone wears red. There's a whole lore can't really get into.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
We need to get this episode started so Len and
I can get back to the festivities, which reminds me.
I got a memo from HR that I'm supposed to
read to the staff, So Len, I guess, attention employees,
this Feast of the Our Talk Day, we would like
to remind everyone that you are expected to adhere to
all workplace protocol and protections. There should be no excessive
revelry during office hours. In in an effort to avoid
(01:24):
last year's misfortune, all living interlopers must remain fully intact
while on the premises. Thank you in human resources, boo,
who cares? We are getting after it today, no rules.
In fact, we can do whatever we want because Len
is the feast of the our talk day parade. Marshall, Hey,
(01:44):
it's okay, Len, Kat's out of the bag. I saw
the scepter and your little plaid skirt, I saw the
whole get up. Well that Tartan, well, I know the
walk of the Screaming Band Cheese can't start without you.
So let's get this show on the road, so you
can get that show on the road. Our first story
today is from Massachusetts, a state with a rich Irish history,
(02:07):
where our friend Alexandra spent over fifteen years in her
own personal satanic panic.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Take a listen.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I am Alexandra, and I wasn't crazy.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
My house was haunted.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
When I was twelve, my family and I moved out
of this apartment complex outside of Boston. When my mom
and my siblings went to go check out the house,
nothing seemed out of the ordinary or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Then the realtor led them to the basement and they.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Saw satanic symbols in the wall in gyed candlewacks.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
It was red and it was black, and it was
dripping down the walls.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
It also had been splattered on the floor. It looked
like someone was doing ritualistic things. But because I grew
up in a religious home, my mom wasn't tooorried about it.
She was like, I'll just call my friends from church.
He'll just come over and we'll pray over it.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
She bought the house, and that's exactly what she did.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
They formed a circle in the basement, held hands and
they prayed.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
In her mind, everything was good.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
But it never felt like a safe space to me.
It just wasn't a very inviting house. We had two
sets of stairs. The one on the right led to
the kitchen, living room, and then a long hallway that
had a bunch of bedrooms and a bathroom. The other
set of stairs on the left led down into the basement,
which had three bedrooms.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
A bathroom, and the laundry unit.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
There was one night I was in the basement next
to the laundry unit, was like this really big closet,
and I heard growling from behind the door. I thought
maybe it was one of my dogs. I put my
ear to the door, and the growling intensified. It was
guttural and it was deep.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
I was too afraid to look.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I ran upstairs. I grabbed my mom.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I was like, can you please check if there's something
behind the door. I think that there is.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
We walked back downstairs.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
She opened the door.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
There was nothing there. Things gradually got worse and worse
and worse. I started to consistently hear things, not just
the growling. I'd hear and knocking from the wall that
was behind my headboard. I would hear scratching on the walls.
It sounded like a claw slowly scratching down the wall.
(04:35):
I knew it wasn't my dog because my dog was
always next to me. The knocking and the scratching would
always come in threes.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I was terrified.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Every single night after these experiences, I would run to
my mom's bedroom because I was so afraid. I didn't
know what to do.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I'd try to sleep in her room.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
She didn't really know what to say to me, because
she herself wasn't experiencing this. She was just like, Oh,
this is probably one of those things that like child's
experiencing nightmares. My mom decided to take me to a
neurologist to get a better understanding of what I was experiencing.
They did several sleep studies. The doctors couldn't find anything
(05:19):
off about my sleep or my brain activity. They essentially
were just like, she's a child, it's probably her imagination.
I was frustrated and I was angry because they didn't
believe me. I very much knew what I was experiencing
was real. I was like, Okay, I'm just going to
keep this to myself and learn how to deal with
(05:39):
this because there's nothing that they can do for me.
When I was in high school, my sister moved out
of the house, and so I ended up moving down
into the basement into her room because it was much
more spacious than mine. That's where the Satanic symbol was.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
The energy of that room was very heavy.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Once I roped it to my sister's room, I started
to experience physical things. I'd wake up with three scratches
on my body, my arms, my chest, and my legs.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I'd wake up with bruises. I woke up from being choked.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
There was a pressure around my neck and.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
I couldn't breathe.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
The only thing I knew how to do was just
close my eyes and start crying. Archangel, Michael, please come
and protect me.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
I'm really scared right now.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
I just dissipated. Then one night, I was having a
sleepover with my friends.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I woke up in the middle of the night.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
As soon as I opened my eyes, I realized there
was a presence in my room.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
I saw something in the corner.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
So I picked my head up and I looked, and
it was a woman standing in the corner.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Of my bedroom. She was white, she was like pale.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Her hair was really really long, and it was black.
It looked brittle and dirty, and her limbs were decrepit
and just broken and misplaced. She was wearing a really long, black,
tattered dress.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
She looked like she was a nun, but her.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Eyes were really dark, really really black.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
She didn't look human.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
And she was just standing there like staring at me.
She felt demonic, purely evil. There was something about her
that felt malicious. She was looking to harm me. I
realized that it was her who was doing these things.
I start praying and then she's gone. This just happened
(07:51):
every single night. So I just got to a point
of not being afraid anymore. I started to become detached
from what I was experienced because I didn't really have
anyone that I could turn.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
To, at least I thought. I have an older brother, Stephen.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
He's sixteen years older than me. He grew up with
his dad and stepmom in Florida, but my senior year
of high school, he moved back in with us. His
room and my room were very close to each other
in the basement. We had a very close relationship. It
was Black Friday. I was out with my friend. My
(08:28):
phone was ringing. It was my brother. He's panicking, and
he's like, you need to get home right now. And
he was like, I don't want to talk about it,
Like you just need to come home. I hung up
and my friends drove me home. On our way back
to my house, there's just all these thoughts in my
mind about like what could possibly be going on, I
(08:48):
was like, Oh Jesus, what am I going to come
home to. I was preparing myself for the worst outcome.
I had never once experienced my brother terrified, so that
and of itself.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Really freaked me out.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
My friends dropped me off, and I see my brother
frantically just walking back and forth. His head was down.
I said, what happened. He explained to me that he
was about to go outside to have a cigarette, and
then he felt a presence behind him. He turns around
(09:23):
and there's a woman standing at the top of the
stairs looking down at him. He ran outside, and he
refused to go back in.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
He said that she had.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Really long hair, she looked very, very old. She was
dressed in non attire. He described her limbs being all broken.
He was like, she's evil, she's dark. As he's describing her,
he clicks in my head it was the same woman
that I had seen. I told him I had been
seeing her as well. I felt relieved that I had
(09:56):
been finally validated in what I was experiencing.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
But also like, what the fuck.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
I was like, Okay, let's just go back inside the house.
We go up the stairs into my kitchen. I'm trying
to take pressure off and just ground him, so I'm
just sort of talking about random things. Finally we're like, okay,
let's go downstairs.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
We walked out of.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
The kitchen, but I heard a low growling at the
end of the hallway. It was really deep and it
was really guttural. We just continued walking because I didn't
want to freak him out.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I tried to play it cool.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
When we finally reached his room, he looks at me
and he was like, did you hear that? My brother
having these experiences was confirmation that this wasn't all in
my head, that this was very much real. That was
a pivotal moment for me. Finally, my brother and I
were like, let's do something about this. My brother grew
(10:59):
up in a home where spirituality was sort of.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
A norm for him. His stepmother was a medium.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
He was introduced to that world really early on, and
he suggested that we start leaning on prayers and cleansing.
We would go around the house, especially in the basement,
which is where the energy was always the densest would
do this multiple times a day, cleansing every single corner
(11:29):
of the room, praying while I was doing it like
there was just so much intention behind it. It took
a lot of time, but the paranormal activity definitely decreased.
I would still hear things here and there, but nothing
felt like my life was in danger. My mom finally
(11:51):
decided to sell the house when I was twenty three.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
The night I.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Moved into the new place, I had a dream. I
saw a man and a woman, and the man was
really tall, and there was something incredibly evil about his presence.
The woman had really pale skin and black eyes. These
(12:19):
were the demons that I had been experiencing my whole life.
It didn't feel like they were trying to scare me.
It just sort of felt like they're revealing themselves.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
And closing a chapter.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
And the way that they looked at me just it
made me realize that they were saying goodbye. Since that point,
I've never seen them again. I've never experienced anything like that.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Nothing brings step siblings together like exercising a raggedy, demonic
witch lady from the basement. I wish me and my
step siblings had had that opportunity. It probably would have
kept from suing each other in family court during the divorce.
Half of all assets doesn't extend to my lue Bouton collection, Melanie,
better luck next time. A lot of you in the
(13:20):
comments are confused about feasts of the Hour talk day.
I'm still learning about the history myself. But long story, short.
Our Talk was basically an ancient Irish.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Vampire blood sucking chieftain.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
When no one knows what a blood sucking chieftain is anyway,
he started out as like king of this town. Everyone
hated him. They said he was evil and also short
short king fury I call it. So one day he
dies and a town is super relieved. But after they
bury him, he rises from the dead and starts sucking
people's blood. Everyone's super freaked. They keep trying to kill him,
(13:54):
and he keeps coming back. Eventually, a wise man says
to defeat our Talk, he must be killed with a
sword made of you would and buried upside down. So
they try this and it works. The Hour Talk is
dead for good and his reign of terror finally ends.
According to the legend, HM you miss them stuff, Len,
We don't have time. That's the basic gist. So once
(14:18):
a year we google celebrate the Hour Talk with a
big parade and parties where we dress in red and
get shitfaced by drinking the blood of the drunkest Saint
Patti's day asshole, which we do kegstand style to symbolize
the Hour Talk's final resting position upside down. They say,
if you've been good all year long, you can leave
a blood chalice in your window for the hour talk
(14:39):
and he'll bless you with prosperity and good fortune. Did
I get that right line?
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Well? Good?
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Then a little bit more new good to hit theory.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Okay, so more or less, but enough from me. Let's
get to our next guest, Emily, who's been battling a
lifelong haunt, multi generational even What can I say? When
you got it?
Speaker 4 (15:01):
You got it?
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I hear this thing come towards me, and I could
hear it walking slowly. It sounded like it was stalking something.
It made it to my bed. I could feel its
hot breath, and I could hear it growl, but nothing
was there. My name is Emily. Since I was little,
(15:25):
I feel like something dark has been falling me. When
I was five years old, we lived in a two
story apartment in California. My dad would lock the doors
every night. Garage door, front door, sliding glass door. All
the doors were locked. One night I had woken up,
(15:50):
I heard the door start to creak open. I assumed
it was my mom or dad. I turn over to
check no one's there, and I start to hear these
footsteps that sounded animal like come towards me. I throw
the covers over my head. I had a phobia of dogs,
(16:12):
so we didn't have any pets. I hear the footsteps
grow closer. It sounded like it was stalking, kind of
walk pause, walk pause, and then finally it made it
to my bed. I could feel the hot breath through
(16:33):
the covers, and I could hear the panting in my
left ear, and I could hear it growl. It definitely
had this evil feel like it was going to hurt me.
It was very menacing. The growl was a deep, throaty
growl like I was its prey. I taped covers off
(16:58):
my head and there's nothing there, which scares me even
more because I can still hear it.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
So I put the covers back.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Over my head, and I felt something jump onto my bed.
My heart was racing. I taped covers off my head
and I could see four indentations on my bed like
paw prints. I felt very threatened. It felt very evil.
(17:29):
I think this thing could have shown up in any form.
It chose a dog because it knew I was afraid
of dogs and understood the assignment. It had evil Unton
Chins when I was sixteen years old. I was homeschooled
at the time. My four year old brother was not
in school yet. We were home with my mom. I
(17:50):
was watching TV and my brother came up to me
and asked, can we play Hide and Seek? And I
told him, of course, I'll be At first, I put
my hands over my eyes and start to count to ten.
I am sitting on the couch directly facing the stairs.
Before I say ready or not here I come, I
(18:12):
open my eyes and I see his shadow and I
can hear him running up the stairs. I know he's upstairs,
but with the four year old, hide and Seek doesn't
last very long, so I am gonna keep this game
going a little longer. I'm playing along looking behind the couch.
(18:34):
I say, oh, you're not behind the couch, and I
continue this, You're not in the bathroom. Finally, I'm over
the game and I know he's upstairs. At the top
of the stairs, there was a door and I could
see my brother's shadow through the crack of the door.
I could hear him mouth breathing, and with every breath
(18:57):
I could see the door physically move. So I start
to push on it and I could feel the resistance
from his body as I'm pushing on the door, teasing him,
you're not here, Oh, you're not behind the door. I
continue to look around the upstairs and I look in
the bathroom.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
You're not in the bathroom.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
You're not in my bedroom. I wanted him to think
he was winning. I come back, passing him and I
can hear him breathing. I go downstairs and sit at
the dining room table with my mom, expecting him to
run down the stairs. I won, I won. You lost.
All of a sudden, I feel something grab my leg.
(19:39):
I jump and I scream and I look. It was
my brother under the table. I asked him, when did
you get down here? And my mom told me he's
been under the table the whole time. I assumed she
was joking with me. I said, no, he was upstairs.
I saw him. He goes, no, he was under my
(20:01):
feet the entire time. That's when I went, oh, no,
she's not kidding. I'm freaked out. I told my mom
that I saw something run up the stairs and I
could feel the resistance of a body behind the door.
I could hear the breath and see the door moving.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
She said, well, I'll go check it out.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Went up there and there was nothing. I started getting sweaty.
My heart started pounding, and I knew what I had
seen was supernatural. My thoughts are, oh crap.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
This is legit.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
This feels evil. A couple of weeks later, I was
home alone. My mom, grandma, and my little brother were
grocery shopping. I was downstairs doing schoolwork and wanted to
get a quick shower before they came home. Before going
(21:01):
up the stairs, I made sure the front door was locked.
I walked into the bathroom, I shut the door behind me.
I was in the shower and I heard the door open.
I assumed it was my mom telling me she was
(21:22):
home from grocery shopping. But I didn't hear her voice.
So I peeked out from the shower curtain and see
that the door is wide open. I was like, Okay,
that's bizarre. So I shut the shower curtain. I am
trying to rinse out my hair. I have really long,
(21:44):
thick hair, so it's taking forever. In the shower, there
is a brass handle that you turn to the left
for hot, to the right for cold, or to shut
it off. I see the handle slowly turn the water
off and then slowly turned back on. I was like,
oh shit, something bad is about to happen. I wasn't
(22:06):
even done. I just shut the water off, grabbed my towel.
The ship who is running into my eyes so I'm squinting.
My eyes are burning. I go to step into the
hallway and when I stop, I see hoof prints on
the hallway carpet. Something was walking with two hoof prints
(22:28):
all along the upstairs. I was like, is this an animal? No,
there's no animal with two hoofs that walks on two feet.
I realize that the stairs also had the footprints. I
go down the stairs and I see the front door
was open, but I knew I had locked the door
(22:50):
before taking a shower. Who or what opened the door.
I'm freaked out, so I shut the front door. I
was completely alone in the house. I sit on the
couch called my mom. I told my mom this is
what has happened.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
She stopped grocery shopping.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
And came back home seeing the hoof prints. I think
what I was witnessing was demonic. I just stayed downstairs
until she came home because I was freaked out. Years later,
these things have followed me into marriage. My husband started
experience and stuff. Now my four year old son is
(23:34):
experienced thinking things as well. He just told me a
couple weeks ago, Mommy, I have wake dreams. The way
he described it, he can open his eyes, but he
can't move his body, and he will see stuff in
his room. There was one time he's screaming for me.
I was in the kitchen and their rooms directly about
the kitchen. I look on the monitor. Sure enough, I
(23:56):
see what looks like this glowing figure walking across his room.
I'm like, oh, uh huh, And I run up their
throw open the door, and there's nothing there. He said
that he had woken up, he couldn't move, and he
saw a light monster in a dark monster that came
(24:16):
into his room, and he was screaming that there was
something in his room.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
It was terrifying.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
I feel so bad for him. I don't know why
I have experienced such demonic supernatural stuff my entire life.
I was not a believer in like witchcraft or anything
like that. Huge believer. Now, huge believer. I've seen it.
I've experienced it.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
A whole spooky family. Oh there's a real opportunity there.
Start with a well managed YouTube channel to hone the
brand and win sponsorship deals, maybe for like crystals or
Halloween candy. From there, I think they could easily get
something on TLC, maybe even and E. I pitched my
reality show to Resitates the Wheel within an inch of
my life, to no avail. It almost killed me, of
(25:07):
course it didn't. That was the other incident. Some girls
have all the lunch. All right, everyone, we've got a run.
So len can get this parade going and I can
start collecting beads. Whoever collects the most beads on Feast
(25:28):
of the Hour Talk Day becomes the Feast King and
has to drink the blood of four bats, one for
each of the four provinces of Ireland, although rest of
the party chants talk King, Talk King, We damned need beads, beads, beads,
beads for the damn So yeah, if you've ever had
