Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah.
We love to share wonderful stories, wonderful calls with you,

(00:24):
and today we're going to do a little mash up,
a mashup of some of my favorite calls, old and new.
Lulu Welcome. What can I do for you?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, Delilah, I just wanted to let you know that
I had the perfect day to day and I wanted
to share it with you, and I wanted to thank
you for being the person that you are who has
helped me look inside myself time and time again. I
had a cardio version today, which is where they stopped
your heart and restart it. I'm seventy seven years old,
good health, but those little kicker has been aggravating me

(00:58):
for about fifty years. I want to send so much
gratitude to the entire staff of Suttern Morals where I go,
my doctors who are incredible. And I wanted to thank
God for reminding me as I took a breath this
evening and sat down that he was there, invisible all
the time.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
So you had your heart stopped and restarted. So like,
is that because you were in a fib or something?
You know it?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
That's exactly what it was.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, Well, at the age I've reached now, that happens
to a lot of people I love.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Isn't it interesting? I'm sure that it's because there are
more of us at this age.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
I Well, if God has blessed you with this many
years to enjoy and said, yeah, I'm going to give
you this, you know, more time, then thank God for
the doctors. They have the technology to make that happen.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Thank God is right. But thank God for the perfection
that exists in the universe if we recognize it just
simply because I got through to you this evening.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Amen, everything that you look at and nature has sacred geometry,
whether it's a seashell on the beach, or a sunflower
or the spiral of a pine cone, it all screams
screams that the Creator is so stinking amazing and perfect.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
I'm telling you, Delilah, talking to you right now is
so uplifting, and there's so much light around you and
the program and the thank you for bringing the light
to us. It's just everything that the Lord has blessed
me with culminated in the fact that I got through
to you tonight.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
All right, honey, you have a great night. God bless you.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Thank you and staying back at you and again, my
heart's full of gratitude for you.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Hi, good evening. You've called it Delilah Shall Who is this?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Hi, Miss Delilah? My name is Vanjie. How are you doing?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Van Gie? I like that? Welcome? What can I do
for you?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I have a story for you. A couple of years ago,
my mother she passed, and the work that I'm doing
right now, my mother didn't even get a jazz to
to see what I'm doing for other people. I work
on the emergency team, and my heart is just aching

(03:34):
for my mom. It's just a lot of questions that
I have for her, and my heart just really hurts
for her, Miss Delilah. I don't know how to let
it go, and it's a big void in my life
that's missing.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
It sounds to me like you didn't just lose your mom,
your mama, the woman who birthed you, but it sounds
to me like you lost your your rally team, you're
cheering squad.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
She was my everything, everything, I did. I worked taught
because I saw my mother work hard, and so I
always wanted to make my mom proud of me.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I didn't become really successful, like my dreams didn't come
true until a year after my mom passed, and I
said to my best friend Janie, I said, I just
wish my mom were here to see it all finally
all came together. And she said, Dee, do you think
your mom's not the one who orchestrated this, who went

(04:34):
and talked to the Lord and said God, please please.
She's worked so hard, let this happen for I'll say
the same thing to you that Janny said to me.
Do you think your mom didn't go to the Lord
and say Lord please? Banjie's a good girl. She's a
hard working girl. Please. She wants to help others. She
wants to be a blessing. Please help put her on
this team.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I believe it, and I know she's watching me. It's
so many times, Miss Delilah. I want to pick the
phone up and call her, and I still have a phone.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I'm more on my.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Phone and I want to call it so bad. I
wish I could hear so bad.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Well, go look in the mirror and find your mother's
spirit in your smile, and I'll play a song for you.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Thank you, mister Lilah. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
All right, God bless you. Good evening. You've called the
Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
This is Matt, Hi, Matt, how are you? It sounds
like you're having a good summer. You have a lot
of joy in your voice.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
I do it is a wonderful summer.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
What can I do to add a note of happiness
to tonight?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Well?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I am really torn because my two boys, their baseball
teams are on the verge of not making the playoffs,
and when they're sacrificing so much time and hard work,
and it's really having an impact on our family. And
I just want to send out a lot of love
to my wife because she's the one holding down the
fort for my whole family right now.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
And how old are the boys?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
The boys are eleven and nine.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
And how many hours a week on an average have
you spent the last three months driving two games, setting
up at games, selling concessions at games, picking up the
snacks for games, driving back from games, like average a

(06:37):
week a lot.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
It's I mean, on any given week. I'm at a
baseball field at least six times a week, and oftentimes
for doubleheaders. So you do the math. It's more than
I do than more time at a baseball field than
I spend it work.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
You know what that is?

Speaker 4 (06:58):
It sounds crazy to me.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
It starts with an L and ends with an ove. Ah.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
You got it.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
That is pure love.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Absolutely, that is pure love.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Because I know there are a million and one things
you would rather be doing than that every day, all day,
umpteen hours a week. And you do it because you
love your kids, you love your family, you love your community,
you love the team.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Exactly. It's amazing what we do for our kids and
kids sports.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Kids sports, or kids dance or kids drama club, whatever
it is that our kid loves were there showing up tired.
Do is all get out cursing that we forgot the
snacks again?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yep? Exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Oh, play a good song for your family. Have a
great rest of your summer.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Thank you, Delilah, you too.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Hi, good evening. You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Hey, Delilah, my name is Caleb.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
What can I do for you?

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Well?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I think this is something that only you can help
me with. I've got a niece who's about to be
moving to the coast. My sister's got a new job there,
and she's going to move to live with my older
sister in the same area. So I've just been having
a really rough time with.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
It because you're going to miss your family. Why, just
because I.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Had a very dark period in my life, and that's
when my niece was born, and she became a light
that really just shone bright for me. She's only six,
and just the thought of her being ten hours away
brings tears to my eyes. Even though I know it's
probably what's best for my sister. She'll have a better job,

(08:53):
better pay, and she'll have my older sister there to
help with the kids and things, the heart just still.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
There, Caleb.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
It sounds me what you need to be looking for
is not a song, but an apartment close to your
sisters and your niece where they're moving toe so you
can be with your family.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
I know, but I grew up in a small town
and gay, So I made a promise to myself years
ago that until I changed the small town, which I
have a bit, that I wouldn't leave it. Yet I've
got a little more work to do.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Caleb. You think that God would call you to change
the hearts of foolish people instead of being close to
the people that you love. Really, that's where God wants
you to put your energy.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
It's not me than who.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
First off, you cannot change somebody's opinion or change their heart.
You cannot. Only God can do that. All you can
do is be a light in the darkness period, end
of story. I will never change somebody's opinion of you

(10:05):
or anybody. You won't. You can't. It is an impossible
thing to do.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
I think you're right.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
You know I'm right. Yeah. All you can do is
live your best life, and your best life your energy
is best spent loving people.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
That is very true.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
You have such a big heart. You have such a
big heart. Go share that love.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Well. It looks like I might need to buy some luggage.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I'll send you the packing tape, all right, sweetheart, Thank you, honey,
God bless you. I so hope you have enjoyed these
radio moments as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
I'll share more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
