Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hey it's Delilah.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
As we celebrate this season of Thanksgiving, I want to
know who you are most thankful for, who makes your
heart smile, and then I want to share these stories
all Thanksgiving season long.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Hi, good evening. Who's this.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
This is Jennifer.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Hi, Jennifer, Welcome to the Delilah Show. What can I
do for you?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Well, I was calling because I think since I mean
as long as I can remember, I know at least
eighteen I've been listening to you and I'm twenty seven
now and I just got married two weeks ago to
wonderful time. But I came back to found out that
I had some selves that were, you know, pre cancerous
and what have you. So I actually ended up going

(01:10):
to a prayer group tonight with a bunch of people
and they actually ended up praying over me and they
found out all right, Well, it brought out a lot
of past issues and stuff like that that have happened
to me in the past. And my message basically is
that you know, I'm thankful to all those people that

(01:33):
helped me relieve so much stress tonight and feels so
much love. And I'm thankful to people like you also
who just you know, it's so much love to everybody
through your music and through your passion and your soul.
And it is so wonderful to see such good people
at work and inviting such love and provoking such like good, faithful,

(01:55):
like awesome spirit in this world.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
So how cool that you are getting help and beginning
the healing process on your heart now instead of waiting
till you're thirty seven or fifty seven or sixty seven,
because once you begin that healing process, life gets so
much better.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I mean, it's just such a beautiful, beautiful gift that
people have to inspire each other and love one another
and you know, pray and you know, give people peace
of mind. Thank you so much for inspiring so many
people with your music.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Delilah, God bless you.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Is this Jennifer? Yes,
it is hi, Jennifer. How are you?

Speaker 5 (02:41):
I'm great?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
How are you? I'm wonderful? You sent me such a beautiful, beautiful,
beautiful letter. Thank you, And from one mom to another.
I just I just want to start by saying God,
bless you.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Well, thank you you too.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now you wrote and you told us you were a
little bit young when you started down this path.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. Yeah, I was eighteen.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
So tell me what happened. Well, I well, obviously I
know what happened, But tell me the circumstances around what happened.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Well, you know, it was it really wasn't any special circumstances.
I was a young girl. I met her dad when
I was about sixteen. He was older than I was
and I was young and dumb, and we you know,
you know what happened from there, and right after I
graduated high school, I found out that I was pregnant
with her, with my daughter Anna, and it just it

(03:34):
was a roller coaster ride from there, just up and down.
And I'm twenty one now and everything is just coming
together so perfectly. And actually, I just I'm still living
with my parents and I just found out last week
that I got my own apartment. So it's just everything
so much so perfect right now. It's so much better
than what it was before. And the main reason I

(03:55):
wrote the letter was was because I, you know, I
see young girls on TV and I hear about you know,
friends of my mom that have daughters who are going
through the same thing, and I just I can't explain
that everything is worth it in the end. Everything.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Let me find a song for your precious little angel.
Thank you, Thank you for writing.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Thank you, Bye bye, hie.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Hi Paul. Welcome aboard, Happy Thanksgiving season.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Welcome, Thank you that Thanksgiving to you too.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
You have an amazing story of how God has worked
in your life and how the folks of the Salvation
Army have worked in your life to give you something
to be so grateful for this Thanksgiving. Would you share
your story with our listeners?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Dlilah. Well, I've been drinking for about twenty two years
of my life. I been an alcoholic and last year
it just got to the point that I was fed
up with that kind of lifestyle and living that kind
of life, and I checked myself into the six month
in house Salvation Army Drummer Rehabilitation program in my community,
and it just changed my life. The program offers alcoholics

(05:10):
and drug addicts a chance to get their life back together,
and the six months that I was there, I came
out of it with total sobriety. It's just a great
thing for them to do. And and I'm also thankful
to for the communities that support and donate their time
and energy, money and goods and everything. Is all those

(05:32):
things are what's keeping these type of programs alive. And
I'm like to think the communities that people that actually
do this, because without them, the programs wouldn't be around.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
So, Paul, this Thanksgiving, you're you're looking at things through
sober eyes? How is how is that different than before?
What is what is God showing you through your sobriety?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Well, that there's a lot of beautiful people out there
and that my family is really important to me. And
I'd say, you know, last Thanksgiving, I was drunk and
didn't have any appreciation for anything. I was always feeling
sorry for myself. So it just really makes me see that,
you know, God really helps the people that try to
help themselves, and that He's going to be there for
you and help you any way you can. And in

(06:13):
the Salvation Army, if it wasn't for them having that
kind of a program, I never would have saw this.
So I'm just really thankful for that.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Well, God bless you. Here's too many more sober thanksgivings.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Well, thank you very much, John.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I want to say thank you to all the folks
who support the Salvation Army as well.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yes, please, because it's my say. Without them, the programs
won't even be around, and so it's really nice thing
that they do that.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Well, you have a good night and a wonderful Thanksgiving
and Christmas Season two, Nathan, What can I do to
make your night a little bit more RESTful?

Speaker 6 (06:49):
I just want to play a song for my wife.
She's been a true inspiration to me. She has just
been a sweet angel. She had a baby through half
months ago and I'm in a wheelchair and she's trying
to manage to taking care of me, the baby, and
trying to get a job in the meanwhile. She's just

(07:10):
been the perfect angel for me.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Wow, are you in the wheelchair because of an accident
or a disability?

Speaker 6 (07:17):
I have muscular distriphy.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So you guys have a lot on your plate a
whole But yes, ma'am, But I know this baby is
going to bring you so much joy.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
Oh, he already has.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
So much love that I suspect you're going to overcome
a lot of odds.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
Yes, ma'am, we sure are. We're hoping. You know, our
Locke goes just as playing as God, you know, made it.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Well, if you're right there, willing to go where he
sends you right smack dab in the middle of his will,
how can it be anything but wonderful.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
Yes, ma'am, you're You're absolutely right. He's He's just She's
just made my life, you know, so special. I have
called you once or twice before in the pay and
you know you have really helped me in a past.
You told me in a past to have faith in
God and to have patience, not to rush into anything.

(08:11):
And those things you told me have really helped.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Now, why is it I can give you that advice,
but I can't follow it my own, dang self.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
You know, the faith I've got, I don't don't have
a problem with them, you know. I know that I
know that I know that my God is who he
is and that he loves me. It's the patience I
have a hard time with, right.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
And I don't see how she has the patience, but
she sure does. She just she just has the patience
for everything.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
As much as I enjoy bringing them to you, i'll
share more with you each weekday on eight, it's Delilah
