Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Do wherever you are,
whatever you're doing. The summer is coming to a close.

(00:24):
I hope you had a spectacular summer. I hope you
created so many memories with your kids, with your family,
with your friends.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
This summer.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
We had a wonderful summer. And though I hate for
it to come to a close, I love this season,
Oh do I ever. I love going for a ride
on my horses when the leaves are falling and the
air is crisp, and the sky as that deep saturated,
beautiful blue. My heart is filled with joy and I

(00:55):
love sharing that with you.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Good evening, you've called Delilah. Who's this?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
This is one?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Hi Lauren? What can I do for you?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Icelanic Be.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
It's a big thank you to my family. You've been
on a road trip for a little while, this and
my sisters back to college, and it's been a lot
of fun.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
And did you have a fun summer?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Tell me if you were to write an essay, the
best thing about my summer vacation.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
What would it be to be hanging out with my
family and having fun in barbecuing, hanging out barbecues, just
time together. And when you say my family, who all
is in your family? Lots of kids? Are just you
and your.

Speaker 6 (01:34):
Siss, my mom, my father and my sister.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
And now sis is back to school and it's you
and mom and brother at home.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
And my baby sister.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
All right, let me find a great song for you.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Thank you for calling. Drive carefully, I have a good
road trip. Nice. Hi, good evening, Clark. How are you tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
I'm doing good?

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Are you?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
I'm wonderful? What can I do for you?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I'm always wondering if you could play after all by
Peter's Ter and share it for me?

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Who's it for?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
It's for Danielle.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Miss Danielle.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Always known each other for about eight years, and uh
we've always lived pretty far away, and I've liked her
and she liked me, and uh, now we're gonna be
going to college in the same town.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
And you're so excited.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
I'm very excited. I just saw her this past week
for the week and things are things are looking really well.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
And is she is she as cute as you remember
when she was a kid.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, very much. She's a I
care about her a lot. She's a great person and
I can't wait to, you know, start seeing her a lot.

Speaker 7 (02:35):
Clark, who's paying for your college education? You are your folks.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
It's a little bit of both me and my folks
both pay for it.

Speaker 7 (02:41):
Now, are your folks going to be so excited that
you'd rather spend time with this girl instead of like
hitting the books.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I probably want me to spend more time with the books.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
But yeah, they.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Know where and they like her a.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Lot, so they're hoping this is future daughter in law material.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
I don't know about that, but I don't know. I
don't know what they really think about that, but I
hope so.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
So you've you've had your eye on this girl your
whole life.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
It sounds like for a very long time. We uh
we've we've known each other for so long, and uh,
last year I found out, you know, that we had
something for each other, and uh, it just distance was
too much. And now you know it's not gonna be
like that anymore. Well, we've always written each other with letters,
and you know, we've had to do it that way,
and now we can call each other.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
So I'll tell you what.

Speaker 7 (03:23):
I'll play your song if you promise me you'll get
at least a b average.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Hey you got it?

Speaker 6 (03:28):
Okay, Okay, bye bye?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Thank what?

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Hi? Good evening? You've called the Delilah Show? Who was
with me on the phone line?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Hill? This is Colleen calling?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Colleen? I'm wonderful. How are you? Are you having a
good end of summer harvest season?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Absolutely? So far, so good and ready for the colder
weather because of all those heap.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Colder weather and boots. Don't forget boots. Yeah, definitely, I
love boot weather. What can I do for you tonight?

Speaker 4 (04:09):
I was just wondering if you could play a song
for my family. My sister is about to have her
second baby, and I just wanted to wish her well
and send some positive thoughts out there.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
And did you know what song you want to hear?
You want me to pick one? When's the baby do?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
No, I would love for you to pick one out.
Babies do in nine weeks. And we're so excited. Second
not a nephew. We don't know what it is yet,
so so excited that.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
She didn't find out she wants to be surprised. That's
unusual in today's world.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yep, she just wants it to be healthy, so that's
all we're hoping for.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I will say a prayer that she has an easy
labor and delivery a healthy baby, and I'll pick out
the perfect song.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
What's your sister's name?

Speaker 4 (04:51):
My sister's name is Mary. Thank you so much. I've
been listening to you for decades, so I really appreciate
your show. I love it, and it's always brought me some.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
Sort of peace.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I appreciate your Radius show for sure.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Thank you. Thank you. That so many things in the
world today are divisive, trying to turn people against their neighbors,
turn people against people who don't live like them, or
think like them, or pray like them.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
And I don't want any part of that. I don't
want to be a part of that. I want to
help people to understand that we're all a part of
the human race and we all need each other, we
need strong community.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
We could all just get along so much easier for everybody.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, would, So let's do our part, and I'll play
a song for your sister and the baby on the way.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Thank you so much, Delilah, All right.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Good night.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Take care.

Speaker 5 (05:49):

Speaker 8 (05:52):
Who is this Hello, Delilah? This is Gwen. Finally got through.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
Hi, Gwen tonight as you're lucky night.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
What can I do for you as we wind down
the last few weeks of summer?

Speaker 8 (06:07):
Oh, I just want to dedicate assault from my husband.
We've been married July eighteenth, forty years.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Congratulations. What's your hobby's name, Johnny?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
What was it about.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Johnny that caught your eye? Because I can tell you
were very spicy, Gwen back in the day. You're very
spicy now, but back in the day you were even
more spicy. What about Johnny caught your eye and slowed
you down the way?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
She asked?

Speaker 8 (06:34):
All my joking the way I've seen and I really
allowed a feel for him. He was so good looking.
You know how they had those ramps. I rolled down
the ramp.

Speaker 5 (06:44):
I was it You rolled down the ramp and you
were in love?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yes, and you picked me up.

Speaker 8 (06:49):
You probably said, oh my gosh, you two clumbs down one.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
You really fell down a ramp when you saw him?

Speaker 8 (06:56):
Yes, I did.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Dang. Was it loved for sight for both of you?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yes? It was?

Speaker 8 (07:03):
And they was July. He was in the Air Force,
and we wrote each other for a whole year before
we ever seen each other.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
So you were you were pinpals, and then when you
finally got to look at his face, you were just smitten.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Yes. Is he still that good looking today?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Oh? Yes he is.

Speaker 8 (07:21):
Oh yes, And I've seen to him every night. Dyla,
I say Lord, thank you Lord for my beautiful husband,
and thank you Lord for everything he has done for
me in my life.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
All right, I'm going to pick out the sweetest love
song that says I have loved you even before I
met you, but then once I met you, I was gone.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Maybe I'll have to write a love song for you.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (07:43):
Oh Delaa, thank you for all you do for all
of us. I love you, God bless you. You are
our angel.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Hi, good evening. You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 6 (08:00):
Hi Delilah. My name is Michael. How are you this evening?

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Hi Michael, I'm wonderful. How are you. How's your summer?

Speaker 6 (08:06):
It is going well? We are just sitting here listening
to your radio show as we are camping up in
Mountain Donna, which is outside of Gilroy, and I'm with
my wife and my two precious teenagers kind of our
last kind of blast for the summer. And I have
been having such a good time with them and literally
sometimes and read me speechless at how wonderful they are.

(08:29):
I was kind of hoping you could help me out
and maybe kind of find a song that might help, yeah,
express how I feel about my wonderful little clan here.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
All right, have we had any some wars yet tonight
last night?

Speaker 6 (08:42):
And I'll tell you what. If you go to the store,
you will notice that they are now making marshmallows in
the shape of squares, so they fit the entire Grand
Cracker with mebing no edge on marshmallowed. I mean, isn't
that wonderful?

Speaker 4 (08:54):
That is?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
But you know what I found out of what I
found it at grocery outlet the other day, marshmallow well
with the chocolate inside, with the chocolate inside.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
How genius is that?

Speaker 6 (09:08):
What a time to be alive. I'm gonna have to
look out for that.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Yeah, what a time to be alive.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Square marshmallows, So there is no Graham Cracker un marshmallowed,
and marshmallows chok full of Hershey's chocolate.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
So it's all right there, All you need is a
cracker that is just.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Beautiful, beautiful. We're gonna kindle it next time I see.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
On this Okay, you have a fun camping trip, and
I will find the perfect song to describe how much
you love your family.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
Oh, thanks, Delilah, you have a wonderful evening.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
I love dads that take their families and moms that
take their families camping. It's my favorite thing to do.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
This is great, it is just fantastic. And we were
listening to you last night for my wife. Her name
is Savina and she is your biggest fan.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
And your kids, what are their names?

Speaker 6 (09:55):
Kylie and Christian?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
All right, dad, go canoeing, go swim, go, have a
blast tomorrow and I will play you a song tonight.
