Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast, Welcome Aboard, my friends.
Thank you for joining us during this week of rest
(00:22):
and relaxation, this week of family time, as we begin
a new year. This week, I'm going to be sharing
some of the best, some of my all time favorite
calls as we reflect upon this past year and look
forward with hope in our heart. Welcome to Hey it's Delilah,
(00:45):
Lulu Welcome. What can I do for you?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well, Delilah, I just wanted to let you know that
I had the perfect day to day and I wanted
to share it with you, and I wanted to thank
you for being the person that you are who has
helped me look inside myself time and time again. I
had a cardio version today, which is where they stopped
your heart and restarted. I'm seventy seven years old, did health,
(01:09):
but this little ticker has been aggravating me for about
fifty years. I want to send so much gratitude to
the entire staff of Suttern Morails where I go, my
doctors who are incredible, and I wanted to thank God
for reminding me as I took a breath this evening
and sat down, that he was there invisible all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
So you had your heart stopped and restarted. So like,
is that because you were in a fab or something?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
You know it? That's exactly what it was.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, Well, at the age I've reached now, that happens
to a lot of people I love.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Isn't it interesting? I'm sure that it's because there are
more of us at this age.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I Well, if God has blessed you with this many
years to enjoy and said, yeah, I'm going to give
you more time, then thank God for the doctors. They
have the technology to make that happen.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Thank God is right. But thank God for the perfection
that exists in the universe if we recognize it just
simply because I got through to you this evening.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Amen, everything that you look at in nature has sacred geometry.
Whether it's a seashell on the beach, or a sunflower
or the spiral of a pine cone, it all screams,
screams that the Creator is so stinking amazing and perfect.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Oh I'm telling you, Delilah, talking to you right now
is so uplifting and there's so much light around you
and the program and the thank you for bringing the
light to us. It's just everything that the Lord has
blessed me with culminated in the fact that I got
through to you tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
All right, you have a great night. God bless you.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Thank you and staying back at you and again my
heart's full of gratitude for you.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Hi, Kyle, how are you?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Kids? Are a little tough for right now?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Tell me why?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Nicely?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Going through some stuff with lall right now, and it's
just stressful.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I'm not going to dive into it too much, but
I wanted.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
To call and really give a shout out to my
mom who has done my rocks to all this.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Okay, back up, back, up back. How old are you?
I'm thirty, so you're old enough to know better, but
too young to resist. Oh, exactly, so Mom believes in you.
Mom's pulling for you. Does Mom buy into your stories
or has she figured out that sometimes they might be
(03:56):
a little old, you know, not quite the whole truth
and nothing but the truth? So help me, God.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Oh, Mama does know best after all?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
When you go and start listening to her, I guess
that's the Uh, that's the question I had, when are
you going to start respecting Kyle? Is the question actually
good question because whatever trouble you got yourself into, I
guarantee you if you respected yourself, honored yourself, and realized
(04:26):
what a smart, good person you are, you wouldn't be
making bonehead choices.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Are there any kids in your life? Do you have
any kids that you love, like a niece or a
nephew or a best friend's kid.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
I got a little brother, but he just turned twenty one.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Okay. If little brother is making the same kind of choices,
would you be proud of him or would it break
your heart?
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Break my heart?
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Okay, So you love him enough to know that it
would hurt him, harm him to make bad choices, But
you don't love yourself that much? Why?
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, you make a good point.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
It's because I'm a mom with kids making really bad choices.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Yes, Oh, thank you for opening my eyes.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
If I could give my my adult children who make
knucklehead choices one gift, it would be the ability to
look in the mirror and see the goodness in them
that I see, because then maybe they wouldn't hurt themselves. Right,
So how about I play a song for you and
for your wonderful mom.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Alright, she's ready, or say I mom Oh, Delilah.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Hello, I know you love this boy with all your heart. Huh.
I do You're gonna make it? Kyle?
Speaker 3 (05:44):
I have to.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
I know you are.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I promise you, Delilah.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Deli Show. Who's on
the phone line with me? Hi? This is Hope? I Hope.
What a sweet name.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Three years ago, this coming Sunday, I lost my husband
of twenty seven years to COVID. He was only forty
nine years old. And it's been arough three years, very
rough three years. And I have found a friend who
just lost her husband. We've been friends for many years,
(06:31):
but she lost her husband back in September to cancer,
and I have moved in with her and she has
just been such a tremendous help to me.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
So two friends share a common grief or sorrow, and
you are now roommates to help each other through the grief,
but also maybe to enjoy life together as besties.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Yes, yes, you're right.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
What are some of the things that you girls are hoping?
I know your hearts are heavy, but have you made
any camping plans or trips to Yellowstone.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Yes, we have made some camping plans. And she also
owns a boat, so we've made some boating plans and
we want to do, you know, some beach trips and
stuff like that this summer.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
What a sweet gift. I know you both have broken hearts,
but what a sweet gift God has given you in
each other and in this season of your life.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
I do agree.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
I mean, we've been friends for many years, many years,
but now we share this in common, which has just
made our friendship so much stronger.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
What's your friend's name, Hope, Beth? All Right, you and Beth,
be sure and take your sunbonnets and your life jackets
out on the boat and go enjoy this season of
life and all the blessings God is giving you.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Thank you so much, Jlilah. I always listen to you,
and this is the first time I've ever called and
I got through.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Well, stay tuned. God bless you, honey, Thank you so much.
Good evening. Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this?
My name is Kelly, Hi, Kelly, welcome. What can I
do for you?
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Well, pretty much. My story is I would just like
to dedicate any song to my to my mama because
this past Thanksgiving, my mama was down for Thanksgiving and
she realized that I was in a very toxic, abusive
relationship and it's been going on for ten years. And
(09:02):
she took me and she said, just come home with me, Kelly,
and I did, and I escaped that relationship all thanks
to her.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Were you eager to get out or were you like
a lot of us when we're stuck in it, we
don't even see how bad it is.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
It took me years to figure it out. I'm thirty
three now. I got married when I was twenty two,
and oh gosh, I've been through the Ringer. Let's just
say that everything, every verbal, mental emotional abuse, so I
can go through. I'm going through a live PTSD and
(09:42):
emotional memories and I'm taking it day by day. It's
been about two months now, So and.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Are you done? Are you really done? You're not going
to run back into the same mess.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I'm done this time because when she was at my
home for Thanksgiving, disrespected her in a way that he
disrespected me, and it opened my eyes to the monster
I was.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
With him with. And you're starting to heal. I hope
you're getting some counseling and talking to somebody and working
through everything.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Oh absolutely, absolutely, Like I said, just the PTSD and
the you know, not being able to sleep at night.
But I'm taking it day by day and I'm praying
every two a day. I wake up every day and
pray because I know I'm one of the lucky ones.
And my mama, she just means the world to me,
and I'm grateful. I'm grateful that God kept her alive
(10:40):
so I could have this time with her.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
I'm going to play a song for you and everybody
else who has come through come out on the other
side and is taking life one day at a time
and breathing the fresh air of freedom from abuse.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey, It's Delilaud.
