There isn't Have you met somebody wonderful?

Yeesh? Six months ago I went to a club and
my boys and name Andy. He was at the club
in uniform and like you know, down, his head down
and whatever I walked in, his face light up. He
came immediately to me. He says, I love you just

like that. I'm looking at him and I says I
love you too.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And you had never talked before.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I never saw him in my life. I'm fifty seven,
he's fifty eight. We looked at each other and that
did it.

One look I looked at him. That was the end.

I mean, it was ridiculous.

How long has it been now? How long have you
been to that?

Oh my gosh.

I've been trying to get through to you forever. This
is my first time getting through.

I'm so excited, Becky. Hi, welcome, this is Delilah. What
can I do for you?

I want to tell you about my fiancee, David.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Go ahead, Okay.

We met at work and when he first asked me out,
I was with somebody else. So he pursued me for
like five years, and then he finally asked me out
again and it was the right time. So I said yes,
and we went out and we had so many things
(02:52):
go wrong on our first day that I told God that,
you know, if he did not reschedule or cancel on
me or whatever, then he was thee I was supposed
to be with. So we've been together ever since. We
just celebrated our second year anniversary, and he is just
absolutely fabulous. And I just found out that the day

he met me, that he talked to his mother and
his daughter about me and said she's the one.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
The day he met you, the day he met me,
it was love at first sight. It was it was
I have a girlfriend named Dedie who I've known since
we were little kids, and we were living together. We
were roommates, and she came home many years ago and said,
I met the boy I'm going to marry today. And
(03:40):
I said, really, what's his name? She said, I don't know.
I said, I thought you said you met him. She goes, well,
I didn't meet him, but I saw him, and they
were married a few months later. She was right, She's
never loved anyone but him, never. That was it. She
saw him, and she knew that she knew that that
was who she was going to spend the rest of

her life with yes.

So we are printing on getting married in June. We
got engaged a month after we got together.
Speaker 1 (04:10):

wife of twenty eight years?

And I hear a smile in your voice when you
say her name.

Well, of course, and you know I actually met her
on a blind date and then I married her after
about six weeks roughly a month or six weeks.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yep, six weeks. A month after you met her, you
married her. Yep.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
We've been married for twenty eight years now. I have
four children once I adopted two more So.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
How many people came to your wedding?
Speaker 4 (05:03):
How many people came to the waiting hunt? She thinks
about three hundred.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
And of those three hundred, how many said, yes, good
for you, this is going to last a lifetime. And
how many, under their breath or behind your back, was
saying this will never last. These kids don't know what
they're doing. They don't even know each other? That are
both ways? Which do you think was said more?
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Well? I would like to hope they'd think you would last.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
You'd like to, But the truth be told, if you
only knew each other a month or six weeks, they
were probably all holding their breath thinking, well, this even
lasts a year.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Would have to agree with you on that.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
And yet look at how far you've come and still
in love. I can tell you love her just as
much today as the day you married her. Yes, I

You two have a nice slow dance.

I would like to make a dedication to my lovely,
lovely wife, Janine.

Tell me about your bride and what you want to
tell her.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
I want to tell her how much I appreciate her
and how much that she means to me. By standing
beside me through two mobilizations in the years that we
have been together. She is my high school sweetheart.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Wow, how sweet? How long have you been married?
Speaker 5 (06:50):
We have been married legally for fourteen years, but we
have been together for twenty one years.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
So basically most of your life if you've been in
love with this woman.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
We met in junior high. True friends, and the first
time that I saw it was the old saying of
love at first sight, and I just fell at Oliver
heils were just never had the gumption to ask her
out until I went and listened to the Navy, and
they gave me the confidence to walk up to her
(07:24):
when I saw her home on leave and said, will
you go out with me? And as they say, the
rest is.

History, And what a wonderful, wonderful history.
