Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hello my friend. Hey,
it's Delilah. And in just a moment, I'm going to

(00:24):
have a very silly conversation with a young woman who
has had her heart broken. She had her her wires stripped,
so to speak. She had her catalytic converter cut out
of her heart and she was left in shambles.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
But God is.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Healing her heart and she is ready to drive down
the highway of life again, and she's hoping that this
mechanic Eric will fix whatever is still wrong beneath her hood.
Stay tuned for that silly story coming up next. Hi, Dina,

(01:15):
what can I do for you?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Oh my god, I can't believe you actually answered. So
I door dish and I listened to you every night
and I keep trying to get in. I can't believe
I got through. Thank you. So anyway, I got out
of a very abusive marriage about five years ago, and
since then I've been dead inside. Now introducing anybody or anything,

(01:43):
I just didn't want to be bothered. I was completely
turned off until I saw this man that I usually
get my gas at the same gas station every day
when I go to work, and this one time I
noticed one of the McCaul and I don't know, he

(02:03):
just got my attention and he was that spark. I
just found that spark again, and I kept going back
and I would find excuses, you know, check my air
at my tire, just to try and get to know him.
And then we started talking and it's becoming you know,

(02:24):
we exchanged phone numbers and we checked and I just
found myself thinking about him every single day.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
What's his name?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
All?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Eric?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
So let me ask you a few questions. How many
times a week do you have to swing by Eric's
you know, repair shop, gas station, clean your windshields place?
How many times a week? I mean, what are we
talking once a week? Twice a week? Do you only
put two dollars in each time? So you got to
go back every day? Like? What are we talking here?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, I'll be honest your times I stopped here, Well,
I don't eat gas and I just take guess anyway.
So it's getting pretty expensive, especially with these gas prices.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
But while you're there, does he does he wash your
windshield for free? Does he offer to rotate your tires, Like,
how how much is he stepping up and and and
showing interest?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
He's showing interest. He actually owns the business, so you know,
I've gone in here a couple of times and he
helps me out.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
You think Eric spark plugs might be sparking for you?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Definitely? I think we're on our way there. Yes, I
can't stop thinking about you.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Have we gone from from daily stopping in to you know,
get a dollar's worth of gas to late night phone
calls are texting? Yet?

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, we're we're on our way. Yes, okay, okay, definitely
on our way.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You're gonna Dina with the d You're gonna give me
your number because we're going to keep in touch and
I'm going to see, like I'm going to see if
you get the wheels rotated. I'm going to see if
you know he he crawls under the hood and and tinkers.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
I want to.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
See like like like how talented Eric's skills really are
when it comes to you know, the mechanics of your life.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh my gosh. Definitely, oh my word.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
And you're sure that there's no missus Eric at home?
Like heating up his dinner.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
No, I actually asked that question right straight out.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
No, not wasting any time. We're not We're not going
around the block another trip right.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Right, definitely, But now there's no missus Nope.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
If you like to cook, I bet if you showed
up with like a whole pan of burritos that you
made from scratch, little sour cream on the side, that
those tires would get rotated quickly.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
That's a good idea. Just matching you up on that.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, that's subtle, that's I mean, who doesn't want burritos
or tacos? Make some tacos, some tacos, a little saltsa
on the side. Uh huh, maybe some fried plantains. You
got an oil change right there, honey.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah, who knows? Maybe I don't know rot tires. I
don't think you saw.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Take us something. Have him check the gap in your
spark plug. Let me play a song for you.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Thank you so much to Hilah.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
David. Hi, welcome to the Delilah Show. What can I
do for you?

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Hi, Delilah, that would be me great. My girlfriend really
loves your show and she is a very beautiful person.
And right now things are very stressful for us and
I don't have my car. She has my car, and
it's hard for us to see each other, and we
barely have any time alone. And I wanted to dedicate

(06:16):
a song to her to let her know that she's
always in my heart. And I you know, I wish
things were different right now, but it's you know, like
they say, for better or for worse, I guess that
would hold.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Well wait a second, you said she's your girlfriend, not
your wife. Yeah, you haven't said for better or for worse?

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Ye. Yes, But what I'm saying is to me that
holds true for her.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Too, because is this the one you want to say
for better or for worse?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Two?

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (06:44):
And have you told her that she knows?

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yes? And tonight was disheartening, not only because of distress.
And and that's why I'm talking to you on the
phone right now.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
So you're hoping that by getting onto the Delilah show
playing a sappy love song, that some of this angst
and stress that you guys are screaming.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
I never see you, I miss you, I hate this,
some of that'll be dissipated for a little while.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
You see, it's a it's part of a big piece
of pie. Okay, you're one small slide of the whole pie.
You're you're the cheese on top of the enchilada, Delilah,
and yes, and this plus flowers. And when I get
my car back, I'm going to take her to roadhouse
for dinner. I'm going to take her to to the movies,

(07:34):
and I am going to spoil her rotten and this
is all part of the like I said, the big enchilada.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Okay, well, I'm glad I'm the cheese on top baby.
Let me go find a song for you.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
And I love your program too, by the way, thank you, yes,
bye bye bye.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday. I'm hey, it's Delilah devine
