Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Did you have a good day to day? Did you
have a busy day to day? A productive day. If
you're on your way home and you have a sweetheart,
a loved one, take them by the hand, display a
little spontaneity, have a little slow dance in the kitchen,
the living room, the bedroom, I don't care where. Just
(00:39):
turn down the lights and turn up the romance.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is
this Hi?
Speaker 4 (00:49):
My name is Shiloh.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Shiloh, what a great name. Welcome aboard. What can I
do for you tonight?
Speaker 4 (00:57):
I'm just calling to request a song from my lovely wife.
We've been together twelve years, married two years, and we've
been through a whole lot.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
And are we through the toughest parts?
Speaker 5 (01:08):
Are we having a good summer or is this one
of the rough patches.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
I think we're having a good summer. I think our
rough patches were pretty early in our relationships. So you're
just hoping to good times.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
What's her name?
Speaker 6 (01:23):
Nagan?
Speaker 5 (01:25):
All right? Best summer memory? You've made thus far tonight.
Maybe that was a good answer.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Oh, we've had a great day.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
All right. So a sweet song that you can slow
dance to in the living room. Oh yeah, all right,
tell me how much you love her?
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I love her to the moon and back to pieces.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
All right, I will play a sweet love song. You
turn down the lights, kick off your shoes, have a
little slow dance in the living room, and a wonderful
rest of your summer. Hi, Nola, welcome aboard. I hear
(02:09):
you've got an important date coming up.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
Yes I do.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
What's going on in your world?
Speaker 7 (02:15):
Well? I need a song played for our first dance
on my wedding day.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Have you got the dress?
Speaker 7 (02:23):
I have the dress.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Bridesmaid's dresses, we have them. How about flowers? Are we
covered there?
Speaker 7 (02:28):
We got everything on my list that I had to do.
I left him the rings and the texas and we
still have to get those things.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I'm so shocked. So now we need our first dance song.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Have you picked it out and you want me to
play it or you want me to find one for you?
Speaker 7 (02:44):
We need you to find one. We both decided that
you would be the best person to find that song
for us.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
No, I'm glad you did not leave this to an amateur. Okay,
So what's your fiance's name?
Speaker 7 (02:55):
His name is Dan.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
How long have we been dating Dan?
Speaker 7 (02:59):
Almost a year?
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Have we met his folks?
Speaker 7 (03:02):
Yes, his mom's the one who introduced us.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Okay, nice family.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
A loving, wonderful family.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Is Dan employed?
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Okay? Good?
Speaker 7 (03:12):
Yeah? Dan is the best. I couldn't ask for a
better friend.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
So he's a good friend. He's a sweetheart, he's everything.
Is he cute to boot he is?
Speaker 7 (03:23):
He is adorable, and he has the giggle that just
brightens your day.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
So he's all that and a bag of chips.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
He is.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
And it sounds like you are happy to the very
soul of your being.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
I am. I have found my soulmate. He is just wonderful.
It took his mom two years to get us together.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
So you were handpicked by mom.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
I was. I told her I'm the best because I
was handpicked.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
That's a good sign. All right, with that information, let
me go to work, honey. Alrighty, have a good night
in a beautiful wedding.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Thanks Terry, Hi, thank you for calling. This is Delilah.
How is your summer?
Speaker 8 (04:04):
My summer is going very well, Delilah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
What's the most fun thing you've done this summer?
Speaker 8 (04:09):
Oh, the most fun thing I've done this summer is
avoid the heat and spend time with my wife.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Avoid the heat and spend time with your wife. That's correct,
that's the most fun.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Absolutely Like have you jumped through a sprinkler, gone to
a water park, gone to the beach, held hands under
the stars?
Speaker 8 (04:28):
Well, a little of each, except we didn't go to
the beach. We went to the neighbors pool.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
The neighbors have a pool. Correct, nice neighbors to have,
very nice. So what can I play for you tonight?
Speaker 8 (04:40):
Well, I'd like you to pick out a very romantic
song for my lovely wife.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
And what's her name?
Speaker 8 (04:46):
Her name is Janelle.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
And what do you want to tell Janelle on this hot,
sticky summer night, Terry.
Speaker 8 (04:52):
Well, I'd like to tell Janelle just how much I
really love her, and how much she's been a very
important part of my life, and how her being a
part of my life is enrich not only me but
my two kids.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
When we get.
Speaker 8 (05:07):
Married eleven years ago, she inherited my two teenagers, and
she has been an excellent friend and mentor and just
the best. We don't even consider her a stepmom. She
has just been one of the best for us, and
I don't think we could be blessed with anybody as
(05:27):
nice and as loving and caring as you know.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
And what song is your song?
Speaker 8 (05:32):
Oh? You know we listen to you so often that
many of your songs that you play are very much
a part of what we like to listen to and
really touch it us deeply. So I think I'm gonna
let you select something very nice for both of us.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who's this?
Speaker 9 (05:59):
Hello Sarah, Sarah?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
What can I do for you? Well?
Speaker 9 (06:04):
I have a love story. It's about me and someone
that I met in boot camp. I and listened to
the Coast Guard and I went to boot camp and
I went through a really rough time because I wasn't
really used to all the things that they put you
through in boot camp. And he was just there the
(06:24):
entire time, you know, with his encouragement, and he encouraged
me and supported me.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
And.
Speaker 9 (06:31):
We turned out that we both got stationed in the
same place and we've been together ever since, and now
we're engaged to be married, and he's just everything to
me and it's it's just amazing.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
And what's his name?
Speaker 9 (06:43):
His name is Stefan. It's just a great story how
everything worked out. And I'm very in love with him,
and you know, it was just it seems like destiny
that we met.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
I can hear the smile coming through the air in
your voice.
Speaker 9 (06:58):
Yes, Yes, I'm very.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
In love with him.
Speaker 9 (07:00):
And it's just a blessing on my life, the entire thing.
And he really saved me, I believe, and I thank
God every day for it.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Well, you hang on tight to him and I'll play
song so you can have a nice slow dance.
Speaker 9 (07:15):
Okay, thank you so much. Toilah.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Hi is this Millard? Yeah, Millard? Who are you thinking
of tonight?
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Mary Ellen?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
And Mary Ellen is your girlfriend, your fiance?
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Your wife was a girlfriend of fourteen months now. It
took me thirty years to find her, and today is
her birthday.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Was this somebody that you knew in the past and
you've reconnected.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Or oh I was married in the past. But I'm
working for the special lady and she was a special
one after thirty years of being out there in the field,
so I wanted to wish her a happy birthday. Over
the phone, because she's definitely the top of the line
for me.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
What are you doing special for her birthday?
Speaker 6 (08:02):
Well, I just made her a lobster dinner.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
That's why I hear dishes clanking in the background.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
Yes, I'm trying to clean up while I'm talking to you.
So you featuring the French frise in the salad.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Wow, And you were the chef.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
He was the chef and we loved that.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
We're stuffed now, so we're sneaking into the kitchen pretending
we're cleaning the dishes. Calling the radio station so you
can go have a slow dance.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
We would love a slow dance, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I'll lay a sweet song for you next. You have
a good night you too.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Thank you very much. I love to listen to your station.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Thank you, honey.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey, It's Delilah.
