Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is I Heart Radios Podcast with Stephanie Pratt and
Wells at us. Hey, guys, what up? Sorry for being late? Wells,
it's all right. I'm I'm actually just used this. Do
you know we're gonna start used to it. I'm never
you cannot say things like that, I'm sorry out last
week for like thirty minutes before listen we're starting. We're
(00:24):
just gonna start saying that our called times are earlier
even though they're not. And then then then you will
get here like right when the show starts and something
crazy this happens. It's not gonna be a crazy so
I thought, okay, So I thought it was at noon
because that's what I was told originally, So I left
my pilates class early so I could shower and get
(00:44):
ready to be here for noon. But while I was
getting ready, after I showered, I saw that Amy wrote
and I was like, oh great, yeah, and now and
now here we are. I'm excited for this show a day. Wells,
you have no idea, and our listeners this is this
(01:05):
is going to be a shocking, shocking show. Really, There's
so much that I've learned from Jason and Ashley. Um,
They've been through like three lifetimes in the past decade. Yeah,
it's it's hard. It's hard. It's hard to hear. Okay,
So I've been wanting to know. Tell me how everything
(01:26):
went in New York. New York was great, actually, like really,
I probably had the best time. Like when people always
ask me, what's your fondest memory of the Hills, And
I really think when people ask me about this series,
I'll be like the press tour, I like, not even
like a certain episode. I had the best time with everyone,
(01:48):
and I really realized we are such a family and
we do look out for each other so much. Like
there was never because our schedule was crazy. We pretty
much we're in a sprinter from seven am until five thirty,
just going from interview to interview to interview. We didn't
have lunch breaks. It was wild. Everyone was, you know,
(02:08):
up in arms about that. But we had some boss
bagels post made it. Did you have time to change
your clothes? There's always time. I mean it was like
a struggle though, Like it was really hard. They didn't
have like makeup touch ups anything. Thank god for hair
and makeup. At five am, you just said, like the
cast you and you are such a family, save your
(02:31):
actual family that's on the cast, right songs? Okay, what
minus your actual feel like? Was it weird? Did you
did you have to did you have to confront Spidy?
I'm no, I mean I only saw them on the
(02:51):
after show and it is probably the most satisfying, gratifying
moment of my life. I cannot wait for you want
to see the after show. Let like forget the episode.
I cannot wait for this after show. I mean, I
don't want to give it away, but there like dumbfounded,
their speechless, and it is just like the best I'm right,
(03:14):
and everyone's like, um, so I cannot wait for that,
and like just in life in general, that's just made
me so much happier. So I can't wait for that. Um.
We were out at dinner every night together, you know,
the wild Ones, made to the club every night. We
did have to get up five am, but it was
(03:36):
I don't know, It's just like I guess, like in
high school, there are so many groups and being left out,
and even when I'm in London, like you know, it's
like the British girls and then there's you know my
I have my American friends and it's just like there's
always groups, and this trip, I just I can't like
I love them, Like, I'm so sorry guys for what
I say and do on the show, but I do
(03:58):
love you guys everyone. Yeah, big apologies coming. But I
mean just the group text, they were just so inclusive, like,
are you guys back from your you know people now
magazine interview because we're Cleo Barr if you want to come.
I just I felt a part of the group. And
it's been hard for me to come back from London
without any friends here. You know, the ups and downs
(04:20):
that I've had this year with my family've kind of
taken all of my focus and energy of just wrapping
up in my own world and you know, been painfully lonely.
So just I'm I know, I'm going back to London,
but I think I have a home here now. You
(04:41):
know what makes me happy? Yeah? No, like, honestly, wells
it was I mean, Brodie and I we were in
the same group for the press tours and we were
just laughing hysterically. So I've realized something, well only because
of like Brodie and Brandon Lee and yeah, basically just them. Um,
(05:02):
I have no filter now, I know that. But the things.
But the things I say I don't even realize are
like illegal until they start laughing go stuff, and like,
just die, I think it's literally a London thing because
I don't get lots of like woes because I don't know,
(05:24):
like I don't have a filter there either. I'm just
an unfiltered person. But they're no one's like laughing going
oh my god. Every interview. Brodie was like shaking his head,
just laughing hysterically, and I was like, all I said was,
I bet you've got brand new questions the reporter. Give
(05:45):
me an example of the things that you say that
are illegal. I'm okay. Derek came up at People Now
and they're like the cutest co host ever. I loved
them anyways that I can't remember her name, but she
had dated one of Derek's friends, and so she was
like asking, I don't think this is all off camera,
(06:09):
just like about Derek. What happened? And I just told her,
you know, like it was. It just wasn't the right timing.
And then of course I went into how amazing he
is and you know, my true feelings and thoughts about Derek,
and she had the same about you know him and
the guy that she dated, and she brought him up
(06:32):
again something else, and this time we were filming and
she and then someone asked like, are you single? And
said yeah, And I was like, no, wonder you're asking
me all about Derek if he's single, and like like
they freaked out and I don't think that's bad at all,
and like I had to go like after because they
made it like sat a deal. Like I was like,
I'm joking. She's like, I would never date him. I'm like, no,
(06:55):
it's I wanted two dates. Like I made a joke.
I'm sorry if it was a but yeah, I don't
think Um, America is going to be ready for me
on the Hills. You couldn't handle it. So did you
get to watch the episode? Yes? Oh, I want to
know how did it go? Did you? Is it good?
(07:20):
You're so funny? How did it go? Tell me something? Well? God,
I wish I remembered more things because oh, Brodie is
going to come on though, um and how weird is
this that we're friends? But in the episode, Oh my gosh.
(07:44):
So I didn't get to watch it with everyone. I
forgot all this drama. So I was on the Sunday
morning flight to New York because I got in around
two thirty and I went to go see my friends
and it's seven fifty am. I'm just about to board,
and then it says flight canceled. The plane hadn't arrived,
and by the time you know, it would be cleaned
(08:04):
and we would get on it, it was too late
for you know, because of air traffic control. So all
of a sudden, all of the flights are booked up,
like the last one is eleven fifty five. I'd get
in and like the flights were, I don't want to
do the mauth right now and have one make fun
of me. You know, I'm bad at time differences. Okay,
(08:26):
So I'd beginning in around like eight am, nine am,
and the screening was at eight thirty. So I ended
up having to get on another airline and Alaska. What
happened in Virgin America, it was like the same plane,
but it's at Alaska. It was weird. Um. So then
(08:46):
obviously my luggage was lost. I didn't have luggage, and
the crew and MTV is the cutest and they got me,
uh underwear and some pajamas and some general watica face
wash at the airport no, they had someone go get
it in New York. When I arrived in my room,
(09:06):
I had like fresh underwear for dama's teeth fresh and
like because you had nothing, nothing, nothing, I'm but thank
god in my carry on I had a dress because
my stylists kind of screwed me, as one does carries
a gown in there on their backpack. Um. So since
(09:29):
I had this time in between my flights, I didn't
have enough time to get back to the Palisades, but
I had like two and a half hours. So I
was like, sir, take me to Beverly Drive. So this
is a movie. Oh my god. They gave me a
driver for the days, and I said to him, I
was like, this is my dream, Like when I see
Bethany like chatting and hanging out with her driver, That's
(09:52):
all I want, Bethany Frankel. I was like, that's all
I want is just like a friend a driver, Like
I think, I don't know. It was just the stay
ever I just wish I could afford to have a driver.
It was so lovely everyone Like I was like, who's
getting out of the car. It was like in a
hoodie in pajamas. Okay, So Anyways, I couldn't find a
gown there. I got two dresses for safety, and then
(10:13):
I called my best friend Hallie and she's a stylist.
She's doing the biggest A List actress right now. I'm
dying to spill the beans, but I can't. Um, but
like huge, big time. She grabbed me an Elie saw
a gown and I just like put it in my
bag and then we went back to the airport. And
then so when I woke up, I had hair and
makeup come and I missed the missed the screening, but
(10:34):
then they showed it to me, like, you know, right
before they after show when people were just like having
breakfast and was the gown wrinkled? Um? They esteemed it no.
But you know it's so weird. Is they had like
very specific rules, and one of them was no mesh.
Mike dress had mesh everywhere? No mesh. Is that a
(10:55):
weird thing? Saying illegal things having mesh in the AUM?
This is it's going well, it's not even that episode. Yeah, um.
And I just want to say I kept my cool
and I was very chilled on Sunday, even though that
was the gnarliest. When I went to go look at
the customer service right after it's had canceled. People in
(11:17):
mine who I just walked right past it. There's nothing
you can do in those situations, so you just go whatever.
So the episode, it's good. That was a fifteen minute
lead up to the episode, and that was literally you
(11:38):
just told us about your travel issue has had nothing
about the show. Wait, hold on, um, did you just
is it just the first episode you watch? Okay, you
did an after show just for episode one of the show.
So are you guys doing after shows after every episode?
I I don't think so. I heard that it was
(12:00):
just for some episodes, because usually you just do an
after show after the season finale. I think this is
so much more though, because it is New Beginnings. I mean,
it has to have an after show so we can
talk about it. Realistically, the episode needs to be like
four hours to get everything in and yeah, but I mean,
(12:22):
if you think about it, there's a lot of people
being in a truce, and there's one very important person
being introduced, Stephanie Pratt. No what Pamela Pamela Anderson? Is
she in the first episode? I think so? I think
when Brandon's introduced. So wait, so Anderson is now on
(12:48):
the Hills. I mean, yeah, she's like diehard Malaby. Of course,
can anyone who was on a show in the late
nineties and early two thousands had to do with southern
California be on the Hills at this point you got
an audition, You had an audition of you, our friends,
(13:10):
I don't know, something waiting for like Zach Morris to
show up on the Hills for some reason. Oh yeah,
not Kelly. I'd be okay with Kellyski Okay, So, so
are you excited about the Hills? Are you nervous? Like, like,
were you pumped after watching it? Like what's your initial
(13:32):
like thought? It's still weird And a few of the
interviews i'd be asked, are you the villain? We're hearing
that you're the villain. So it is still weird, especially
with like the gratification that I finally have in the
after show. Um. But again, like what I always say
(13:54):
is everyone's a villain at some point, everyone's a hero
at some point. It's up and down. Like no one,
I mean, Whitney is the only one that's closest to perfect, um,
but no one else, you know, We're all on this
roller coaster, but when he keeps it even straight and
even I love her. Asked me to go on her
podcast today. Oh do it because we want to promote
(14:14):
this show on that show. So do it and then
tell her to come on ours. I love her. Yeah.
I guess you either got to either gotta die the
hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
And that's probably is everyone on that show. I'm sorry,
can you repeat that? Is that a quote by Wells
or is that shakespeareance? Yeah? I didn't come up with that,
(14:38):
but lay it on us again. It's either you die
the hero or you live long enough to see yourself
become the villain. So I always think the heroes die first,
like the good people always die. Like my favorite thing
is that Eastern came in with the nerd reference. Just
(14:59):
you didn't Is that is that Socrates? No, that's Bruce Wayne. Idiots,
you knew that. I knew it. I just wanted I
did Google to make sure it originated in that movie
and it did. Oh God, love you both of you boys.
That's what you are boys? Were cool? That is so true.
(15:20):
I wish I could tell you guys more about the episode.
I just can't um, But next week I'm going to
spill the beans. Oh can't wait. I saw something. I
saw something that Chris Harrison tweeted s I'm my mouth
is full. What should I tell everyone? Or would you
like to? Well, it was today that they announced the
(15:41):
first the first people that are gonna be on Badroom Paradise.
I don't know if you saw that. Um, which is
exciting because the show is officially coming back. So here's
who they announced this morning on August five, So they
announced that Demi is going to be on the show. On,
Paul Jones is going to be on the show, Blake
(16:04):
Blake Hortsman is going to be on the show. Um,
Tassia is gonna be on the show. Clay is going
to be on the show, which is that's kind of juicy,
be as Clay was just dating this girl Angela from
like Bachelor Nation, so who knows what's gonna happen there.
Bibby is returning for the seven millionth time apparently, and
always be Cam is coming to the beach. My girl though,
(16:28):
Tashia is my girl. Yeah tastious. Tastious seems nice. But anyways,
a girl's name that's been on it forever Bebby Bibby.
But yeah, so they were weren't supposed to. They didn't
release that I was on the show, but Chris Harrison
tweeted about it. So I think that Easton, let's get
(16:49):
like a bell or something. Yeah, it's out people. Little
Wellsie's back looking for love. Nope, looking for an ice
scoop and shaker. Have your skills improved? Um? Yes and no?
(17:18):
I would say that. Well, so many seasons have you
been the bartender? This is gonna be my third. So
here's the thing. Um, I'm at the beach bar. So
it's a limited like limited stuff you could have down
there because it's not like a fully stocked bar. Right.
I don't have a blender, so I can't make um
dakaris and pinalis and stuff. Okay. I literally love that.
(17:40):
It's real. It's not TV bar. Wells is actually just
making drinks for these guys have no So it's like
a lot of me like doing shakers and stuff. Um.
But yeah, like also like I have to like wash
the cups and cut the produce. Yes, no, okay, because
(18:02):
I was a big brother and there's no dishwasher. It
gets dirty. Wells, I know. That's why I have to
wash them. And then and then like they all like
walk off and go talk, and then they leave their cups.
Everyone inside plod around the sand and pick up everyone's
cups and bring them back and wash them. Everyone wants
my job until they see me do it and they're like, oh,
you're actually doing this. We just thought that you were like,
(18:23):
I don't know, like just giving advice. Like I don't
think Isaac on the Love Boat was actually making drinks.
It was an actor. I'm actually making the drinks. Also,
I'm the one that has to um, has to regulate
the drink amount because now that there's like a limit
(18:44):
that you can have every hour after people went a
little bit crazy. So now there's like extra responsibility on me.
And none of the these asked tipped me, So you know, wait,
do they how do you monitor it? Do they give
you a drink ticket or something? I have like a
binder and I denote you have to make the drinks,
(19:06):
do the dishes, clean, clean the garbage and paperwork. Yes, respect,
no respect, and no tips. I would love to come
out and clean up the cups. And you watch, now
it's so hot. What do you want? What do you.
Let's go through it. What do you want? What can
I get you right now? Um margarita? Does that require
(19:29):
a blender? Tequila on the rocks? So no, Oh, I
can be really annoying and order a mohedo. Actually, if
I was there, I'd order a mohedo every time. A
lot of sugar in mohitos. If you want to scare
some people who are having to wear bikinis on the
beach for an entire season, you tell them how much
sugar is in something, and then they don't order it
(19:49):
because they're terrified, And then my job gets easier. So
what about my fresh squeezed lemonade? Oh yeah, I can
do that, and then I'll throw a little soda water,
make a little spritsy that like that. Do the girls
just end up drinking like vodka straight tequila straight because
they're worried about how they look in a bikini? Is
that what it kind of comes down to. It's actually
more the guys are, that's amazing, very concerned with sugar
(20:14):
and stuff. Oh my god, they're all gonna spray dans. Oh,
oh my god, we need to film that. I want
to see the pre show. I think it's been night
and prep. I think tonight on The Bachelor, they're going
to announce the rest of the cast. It's on that
show Grand Hotel, Grand Hotel, starring our friend Rosalind Sanchez. Yeah, um, okay,
(20:35):
so we've got a guest. I'm very excited about two guests.
The Wallers are coming in and like I was like
reading up on their story. It's kind of crazy. So
I'm excited for this interview. We're gonna take a quick
break and we come back Pratt cast. Got the Wallers. Yes, well,
(20:57):
I think this is gonna be a very popular episode
the pretty cast because Jason and Ashley Waller in the
studio right now. Oh my gosh, are how are you?
Stephanie is just shaking. Ashley sided. I love them. You haven't, No,
(21:17):
I didn't. I So I didn't know Jason on the
original Hills because he was on it the first series,
and I don't I think I came on the third
maybe yeah, SEC episode six. Jason, were you on the
first and second series? I was on the first season
and then I went I kind of devetailed out from
the second and then I did like a cameo two
on the season three. So I never got to meet Jason.
(21:38):
And we're at the v m as in August and
there's this guy and this girl in a beautiful red
dress and I'm just kind of like walking by them.
We're at a hotel bar, like waiting to be shuttled
to the event, and I'm like walking by them, and
then you know, they're like, okay, it's time to go
like everyone, and I'm like, where's Jason Waller? And behind
(22:01):
me goes I'm right here. I was like, oh my god,
because I love them so much, but what he looks like?
Well know, and then like we met and then filming
and spending time with them, they're just like the most
stand up. Um. I know, it's not a word about
(22:22):
like funnest people. I don't know how to describe it,
Like look, how fun keep going? And I call her queen? Actually,
why do you call her queen? Because she is Wait
till you just hear I've already told Wells that you
(22:43):
guys have a lot totefully share. Are we sharing today?
This is their story? Is why I call her queen?
Are you I just want to know, are you happy
to be back or are you like I thought this
was over? That's a great question because originally, I mean
(23:04):
I would say overall, yes, I'm excited to be back
due to the fact that when I was on this originally,
I was not in the best mental state of mind,
and it was a totally different introduction. I mean, even
the cast that I did know, it was still like
me meeting them for the first time going back on
this time because I didn't connect with them. You know,
I was in such deep, you know, dark stages of
my addiction during that time. So this time, I think
it's cool because everything's come full circle and I'm in
(23:26):
a totally different place in my life. So it's it's
definitely it's interesting, but it's also it's it's been fun.
I've enjoyed it. But that's what's so great about the
series is what I've been saying in interviews is, you know,
the original one, everyone's an intern and trying to get
a job or working the doors at a nightclub, trying
to start a career. And now you get to see
(23:47):
everyone full circle, like Jason said, doing what they're doing life,
doing life. Okay, so there's is there a party that's
kind of scared though, because I imagine that you have
um that you are cognizant of the fact that you
were interesting because you are in a very dark time,
like you were going through a lot of turmoil, and
that causes I don't know, interesting television now if things
(24:10):
are smooth sailing, is it is it more pressure to
like bring something to the show or is it like
we're just in a different time and if you like it,
you like it. If you don't, you don't know. I
think that's a great question. I think that there's such
an interesting dynamic to see such a bipolar opposite side
of me. I think that's the the interesting piece. You've
got to see me in one demographic and now you
(24:31):
get to see me in another light now, and I
think that's and I think also with it is there's
so much the stigma or around addiction has been lifted
so much, and I think so many people suffer with substance.
To be her mental health, so to be a person
that can advocate and speak upon it and actually be
open and transparent about it, I think is its own
storyline within itself personally, because I think there's there's just
so many people that can relate to it. That's the
thing that I've I've noticed with everything that I've talked about,
(24:52):
because by expressing vulnerability, it creates, you know, humility, And
I think a lot of people just want to be
able to have a vice or somebody to be able
to go to that they can relate too. And I
think that's something that's different. I love that addiction is
so accepted. I'm like dying from mental health, not dying.
I really want mental health to get to where addiction is.
(25:15):
Maybe we should work together. Well that's something. It's it's
interesting case I'll ask you. I mean a big thing
is is there was a uh like a poll that
I did around how many how many of us were
taught about physical health at a young age? Right, And
a lot of us learned that it's important exercise pe.
We had a lot of it like education around that.
And then I did another poll and that was about
nine people said they had heard it or had done
that in their life. And then I said, how many
(25:36):
people have you learned, you know, around about mental health
growing up? And it was like four. And I think
that's the other thing is a lot of things have
transition today. Well, I I would assume that they go
hand in hand too. If you are suffering from um
mental health issues. Sometimes you'll compensate for for whatever you're
feeling with substance abuse. I mean, I like that what
(25:58):
you're saying is that you're you seeing what originally was
a weakness for you as now as strength. But let's
just be honest. I mean, I've been around enough reality
TV idiots to know that there's gonna be a lot
of drugs hanging around. Is this hard for you? Now?
We don't have drugs. We don't have any drugs, not
like we don't, Oh, we don't have any. But we're
(26:19):
just we're not drinkers, like and not everyone really drinks
that much. Everyone has kids, they've got to you know,
prone ups. I'm not. I feel like we kind of
have our narrative to like I feel like in this
like this is my first time on reality TV, and
I feel like we wanted to have our narrative, and
so we chose what we wanted to be involved in
(26:41):
and not involved in. And when it came to like
the nighttime club scenes, we had an exit route and
we decided, like, if you're uncomfortable, if you feel weird
and drinking is going on, we're leaving. That's just the
way we rolled, that's the only way we would do
the show. Well, it's not even that this is how
we interact in our normal life today. It's not like
I'm out at clubs and stuff anymore. I mean, I
have a daughter, I'm married. I mean, it's just not
part of my for TAM mean, we do, we go
hang out and have barbecues and enjoy each other's company,
(27:03):
of course, but after a couple of hours when people
started acting a full it's just it's not something I
want to be around anyways. And sometimes it's quite frankly,
we're just reminiscing on some old stuff that we were
doing and looking back, a lot of it is. Some
of it's fun to people watch, you know what I mean,
because it's a good reminder of where I don't want
to be a bad junk. You're you're hilarious. You're you're hilarious.
That's code for yeah, Um, so can I ask how
(27:28):
long have you been sober? So I've been sober six months?
Start this. Let's okay, when you left the Hills, correct,
Let's talk about what happened? When did you meet Ashley
and the troubles you go? I would like you to
kind of give an overview of it. Okay, So there's
(27:50):
been a lot that's happened in the last like five
years per se. But Jason and I met about a
year before his, not a year before, a month before
my one year, a month before his your sobriety the
other time that he got sober. So far Ridge, I'll
help you in the beginning. So I got sober originally
is when I came off somebody rehab. Actually ended up
doing the whole deal and actually acquired a four and
(28:12):
a half years of sobriety from July tent to almost two.
That's you. Yeah, And we met a month before his
one year sobriety birthday and we started dating. So it
was the first relationship that he had ever had sober
and his first like faithful relationship that he had ever had. Timing.
I feel like it is everything. I was in a
place in my life where I wanted to settle down.
He was. Um. We got married about a year and
(28:34):
a half after that. Two years and we were both
doing amazing. We bought our first house, we bought a dog.
Like everything was picture perfect, cookie cutter Orange County, just
the way you would think it would be, and um,
Jason started working a lot, and uh, he started being
prescribed adderall. He was a long time ago, and he
started taking adderall, which he says is bottled dyslexia. So
(28:56):
he would take like twelve every one hour and start
of one every twelve prescription dyslexis. So basically what happened
to you is on that is is which like everything
became so good, like I mean, the program had worked
so well for me that life would become like everything
I've ever wanted to came to fruition and stuff. But
a little did I know, I stopped working my program
and program was not my priority more. I got inundated
(29:18):
with work life, all the materialistic stuff, and I started
to go from working my program to going out and
venturing out this way. So so you put work number one,
sobriety number two, and where was Ashley? I was just
co signing everything whatever. So I actually went I went
to a psychiatrist act and I went there with no
intent of actually abusing the prescription. And basically it lasts
(29:40):
for a couple of months because I thought it would
help me, you know, near my thought process and be
able to get me back on track and focus and
little lo and Behold. About three months into it, I
got prescription dyslexia where I instead of taking one every
four hours, I was taken for every one hour. And
it got up. I was taking up about programs of
adder all the day. And then he was taking so
much outorall he couldn't sleep. So when he started drinking.
(30:02):
So we did that like the dance for about three
years where you know, did you hide the drinking at first?
Drinking didn't come into play in the very beginning. It
came in like middle way through it. Yeah, and then
he was drinking. Were you hiding it or did you
just say it actually like you know what, I've got
it under control. Oh no, it was a I mean,
so you have to keep in mind as I was
(30:23):
working in the recovery space with this, and I think
that's the other thing too, is I was literally dying
trying to help people. That's that's the biggest piece to
this whole thing, is where I started, because there's so
many different elements that happened with this. I mean, start
my own business. I was working with a lot of people.
I mean in the depths of all this, I mean,
I even got the voice of Recovery Award and from
Congress in Washington, d C. When all this stuff was
going on, you know, yeah, yeah, I mean I'm not
(30:45):
proud of those moments, but I mean it's it's there
were so many different things that had happened through that,
and you know, there's there was a lot of trials
and tribulations that came from it, you know. But I
think the biggest thing is that we've learned through this
is that Ashley had a lot of her own wherever
there's you know, we're sometimes I like to say, is
you know, the codependent of the enabler can be just
as sick, if not sicker, than the alcoholic. And that
was her contribution to this, is she thought she was
(31:07):
helping when in reality, she was really contributing to my
So you're okay with him drinking, Well, I don't think
I was okay with it, but not not like no, no,
no no, I'm just like trying to like get to
the juicy part of it. So when you love somebody,
addicts can be very manipulative into making you think that
you have like a false reality in front of you.
So basically he would say, oh, I'll get sober if this,
(31:28):
or I'll do this if this, And he was working
in recovery, so I believed everything he said because I
didn't really know anything about addiction. You know, I saw
it firsthand, but I wasn't working a program. I didn't
really know. I didn't really talk to anybody. It was
a huge secret. I was living this huge lie basically
while my husband was working in recovery and he's at
home passed out drinking a fifth PA every night. Okay,
(31:49):
so it was not a beer here and there. But
did you ever come to him and be like, you
see the hypocrisy and all this, don't you? Yeah? And
what was what was your response to that? Well? And
that's the thing is, it wasn't like I was just
on this three year bender, right. It was more of
like I would use I utilized everything, all the knowledge
that I've gotten around all this, and I would actually
(32:09):
implement it and it would not stick though. And that's
I think the scariest part is, I mean, I'm working
with a SAM certified doctors, I'm working with some of
the elites of the elite and the industry, and I
was able to fool them. I mean, and the only
person was really fooling was myself. So I mean I
was actually conversating with her, and I think it even
got to the point where I was even you know,
like it was almost a verbal altercations we would get
in all the time around, Like if she would say something,
(32:30):
I made it destroy everything that I had created, right,
which in reality was it was killing me and and
damaging my marriage. The other stuff didn't matter. So I
think it was I got so sick that I didn't
want to believe it. I had such a false sense
of reality now that I started believing my own my
own lies. And what was the consequence. How long did
it take for this to blow up? Well, we had
(32:51):
like lost our house, we lost Okay I know this,
Yeah you too, but everyone most I know, but I
need them to say one more detail. Fair, Okay, I
loved him. I know everything about them. Okay. So Jason
also has a gambling addiction. Yes, so he you were
(33:12):
gambling online or you were going to Vegas? Both sports
beat on his phone all the time. I remember we
went to New York one time and he would knock
it off his phone and he was just spending Yeah,
how much money do you think you've spent? Frand okay, man,
in a six month period, what did you bet on
(33:32):
all sports? Or it's like football? Okay, opened in just
kicked me in the kick me in the butt, man.
And then and then I'd go to Vegas and play
blackjack in tens of thousands of dollars, big big, okay.
And then he came home one day and what do
you say? I sold the house? He bet the house.
(33:54):
He didn't met the house, he didn't about the house.
But one day I had left and he came back
and he had sold the house and everything inside of it.
Who I mean my husband so fast. That's not what
happened at all. Okay, okay, okay, that messed up, So
(34:17):
don't ruin my really good story. I'm glad that I
know the truth of what actually things happened, because that's
definitely I'm a sober one that there was a multitude
of things that happened. There's multiple, multiple events that happened.
I did not just say, oh, the house is sold.
Guess what. She the realtor, came over, took photos. She
(34:38):
knew the whole thing was going on. We had, you know,
there was I had to sit down with her. I
was like look there we're in a spot where we
need to get into the house. And it was your
fault completely, It was for you. Actually a lot, house
is gone. I crid a lot. I crid a lot.
I think of breaking up with him. I mean, there
were definitely times when you feel like you're at a
(34:58):
complete crossroads where you really don't know what to do
in your marriage or your relationship. But it's interesting because
like when you love somebody so much and there your
soul met you. When you love somebody so much and
there you're soul me, you really would do anything for them.
And I just didn't want to give up on him.
I knew he was sick. So it's just also like
Queen the Queen stop Queen, but also like the vows say,
(35:22):
like for Richard, Like I think that's part of it.
I think it's you're of a trust thing, like you
sold the house because you spent all of our money secretly,
Like are you kidding me? I want to start a
family and you've gone and done this too, but I
would you know what? Sorry Jason. On that note, though,
you have to remember, like when we were in this house,
(35:42):
it was very destructive. This is where Jason had first relapsed.
So he was explaining it to me, like, if we
sell this house, I can get sober, I won't have
bad memories, will move to a new place. We'll have
a family with their money for a new place. I mean, yeah,
we sold the house, so we had some money. Okay,
So I thought you sold the house just to pay
(36:03):
gambling debts off. Well, we had some, but we had
really been this story so less intense. Yeah. Sorry, I mean,
but I don't know. You had actually much have had
some good conversations, I mean, open for hours. Yeah. Did
it work though it was ridding yourself of the demons
of this house and all that stuff. Did it work?
(36:24):
Absolutely not? No? No. And then I thought, you know,
that's really quick, becuse that you bring up a great point.
This is a whole part of the manipulation. And in
my head, did I believe that, I firmly believe that.
I wasn't like I had this master plan behind me, like,
oh my god, I can't wait to sell this house.
I'm gonna take all this money and go do this.
It was more the intentions were there, but I did not.
The disease was so progressive with me. It's a primary
(36:45):
chronic progressive, potentially fatal disease. Right, that's the way we
look at its way it's scientifically bound to I was
in that progressive state where where my manipulation for myself
as again, that's where I was not able to believe
what was going on because I truly, I mean there
was times where I would literally be bawling, just like
I want to off, I want to stop, but I
could not actively arrest the disease and get stabilized. And
it's it's that's where it's like if unless you suffer
(37:05):
with addiction, I mean, it like consumes you. It becomes
a twenty four hour, seven day a week job where
nothing else matters to you and all you're focused on
is getting that substance. What has been the strongest addiction
that you've had, like the one that like Trump's all
the others? Is it gambling? Is it alcohol? For sure?
I think, I mean quite frankly, I was such an
upper person that I would honestly probably say I think
(37:27):
my drug of choice is alcohol, That's what I always
go to. But I would say the hardest one is
probably Adderall yeah, this is an alcohol technically a present
the present, So I feel like you you are self
medicating with the medication you were taking uppers, then you're
taking alcohol to like bring you back down to level.
Because for the first year and a half of using
(37:48):
and so people know, I mean adderall is basically pharmaceutical, synthetic,
great meth. I mean I was taking so much of it.
I mean, if there's pictures and stuff, I mean I
picked my face and it was horrible, like changing what
was it the ink cartride it or something tweak three
in the morning former methodics. Yeah, yeah, I know how
you feel. Yeah, I picked my whole face off. Yeah.
(38:10):
But that's the thing is I did not did I
liked it so much. I didn't have to. I wasn't
consuming I'll call for the first year and a half,
you know what I mean. But it was Yeah, I
was just going to McDonald's and eating so much, getting
tubs of ice cream, eating in the mirror and be like,
I'm getting skinny hair. Wait, why do you pick your
face off? Though it's like a twitch, like oh, it's
a tweet tweak car we tweaked. No, but it's more
(38:32):
of like I think I would have an end grown hair. Yeah,
you know, and then you just got to. Yeah, it's
just it's try it past district. Yeah that's ye're not.
Oh yeah, that's like everyone on Cops is on math
(38:55):
and you've seen with those criminals. Like, but it's one
of those things like it's it's almost like for me
at least. I mean, like when you hear people like
they need to take opiates just to feel better. I
mean like when they're on heroin or oxyes or stuff,
they just need to like feel normal. That's how it
was for me, is I mean the high one away completely.
I mean I was taking that many milligrams a day
just to like try to feel normal. Yeah did you
know that that was a problem? Oh for sure. But
(39:18):
I couldn't. But I couldn't stop, like and that's the thing.
It was. The worst thing is like you know here
in the rooms and stuff, like when I go to
my meetings and things, it's like a belly fool of
booze and a head ful a A is like the
worst thing to ever have. And I mean because that's
like the guilt and the shame and all this stuff
because you know all this stuff but you can't fix it.
I mean that was the because I wasn't willing to
put in the action until later on down the road.
So what was rock bottom for both of you guys,
(39:39):
because I imagine your stories are different. Rock Bottom for
me was wanting to take my life again, man. And
I think that's I mean where I get into when
I'm that deep into, because I mean I was drinking
probably two fits again a day, uh, taking fours adderall
and I mean so I mean I was in a
drug induced psychosis, uh, you know, not wanting to live again.
(40:00):
And then I just had this baby. You know, probably
what was it four months you went in to rehab.
She was six months when she was seven months old,
so I mean when she yeah, so when we had
basically had a newborn and she was still really young.
I mean just kind of like, how did my life
get to this? We had like all these things and
like I had this in sobriety and this is where
it's taken me back, and I kind of just had
like a a flash, you know, more of like I
(40:22):
want to be here for my daughter especially. I mean,
if there's a whole another gnarly side. We had six
family members of ours die seven within a four within
a year period. Within when that was within those two
years started dating, right, you know, when we were married,
when all this started happening and Jason had kind of relapse.
We'd also lost like seven family members within that time,
including my dad and my grandfather within six months, his
(40:44):
grandpa within six months, which were huge figures in my life.
So so that just real quick to finish my thought
and you can go back there. But is having that
like with her dad not being there and stuff like
I didn't I mean, is this is a very selfish disease,
you know what I mean? And it's self sabotaging I
mean my daughter and Ashley, uh well, and quite frank
(41:05):
because I mean, nobody could stop me at that point.
It was really came down to Delilah. Was was my
motivating factor? You know, it really was, because she tried
a ton of times, My parents tried helping it, and
there was there were so many different variables that came
into play, but I would say it was honestly being
there for my daughter. And obviously Ashley ties into that.
So babies do fix bad relationships and addiction. I feel
(41:30):
like she's listening to a whole again. They do, But
it sounded like a baby made everything better. But that
is a one case scenario. Here's what you've learned so
far on the podcast, do myth and if you have
any problems in your life, just to have a kid. Okay,
I'm saying that exactly as a joke. All right, So
(41:52):
what was your rock bottom for that? I think when
I had Delilah, Jason was actually in detail talks, so
I put him in de talk three days before I
went into labor, and he was barely there for her birth.
So I had to actually call. It's the craziest story.
So I was in triage and you're I'm like dilating
about in labor and they're about to take me into
(42:14):
the labor and delivery room and I call the nurse
because I knew I put him in detox. I said,
I'm about to have a baby. I just want to
let you know I need my husband sober before I
have this kid. I can't have this baby by myself.
She said, okay. So when I called, I was in
labor and delivery. I called them and I'm saying, okay,
I'm in labor and delivery, like let's say, well him,
get him out of there. And they're like, can you
just let him sleep? Another hour so he can sober
(42:34):
up a little bit more. I'm thinking, are you effing
kidding me? Like I'm having a baby right now. My
husband's in d talk so I'm on the fourth floor.
He's on the first floor at the same hospital. It was.
It was crazy. I feel like you told us to
another man and he was like, you'll be fine for
another hour. I'm pretty sure I was a man on
(42:54):
the phone. I will say I'm almost add percent positive
it was a man on the phone. Um. Yeah, So
I think that was like the beginning of my boundaries
because once that happened, Um, Jason had come home and
the problem was you can explain this part you hadn't
you well? Basically, after again, I was only in detox
(43:16):
for less than seventy two hours, and I was I
didn't actually arrest the disease, you know what I mean.
So when I got back out, I took that I
was like op free window, you know what I mean.
And it went with two weeks and you had relapsed again,
and it just got to the point where I was
taking care of Delilah and it's it's a scary thing
when somebody is using and you're in the same house is, Um,
it's just not really a safe place. You have a baby,
(43:36):
you're exhausted, Um, your emotions are at an all time high.
And so when Delilah was about six seven months old, UM,
I just couldn't take it anymore. I kicked him out.
He went to a sponsors for a couple of months,
and not a couple of months, a couple of weeks,
and he just couldn't get better. And I just decided,
you know what, like, if you you have to go
to rehab, we don't have a choice. And I don't
care what the world thinks of you. I love you
(43:58):
for who you are. I love you on condition only,
I don't I don't care at this point. I want
you alive, not dead. For our child, for us, for
our family. That was the most important thing to me.
I could care less what the world thought about him
as being this recovery advocate Jason Waller. I said, so what, like,
you'll get a different job. I work. It's fine, we'll
figure it out, you know. So she says this to you,
(44:21):
and then you go, I guess, to rehab. And and
then is that the time which you finally kind of
like came through And yes, so I went back, so
I went to treatment. What what was that was April
last year? April last year last year. Yeah, so you're
you're many year cleanup pills. Over a year clean was
like fourteen months ago. Yes, I've been cleaned for fourteen
(44:43):
months off adderall. Uh. And that was where everything really
kind of stabilized. And that was the first time I
went back and went to detox and actually went into
residential for thirty days and like fully dedicated my life
back to this. And you know, there's there's been a
bump or two along the way, but it's it's something
that for me is is I take this a day
at a time, you know what I mean, And it's
uh uh now have over six months you know, continuous
(45:04):
sobriety and then, uh, it's just been it's been amazing,
you know, to be back on this track and be
able to walk through this. And I think that's the
thing that we're talking about within the show, is being
able to express what we've gone through and what we've experienced, uh,
and to actually provide insight, education and a solution, you know,
and you don't have to live like that. It's something
that you know a lot of people go, it's more
(45:25):
common than not, and I think people don't realize how
common it is. And a lot of people don't even
know that if they are struggling or not, you know
what I mean? That's the thing is is there? So
I'm not even gonna go into it with alcohol and
different components of it, but people just don't even know
if they're struggling or not, when in reality they probably are.
Was this like a premeditated um decision to go back
on the show to give a voice to a lot
(45:48):
of people who suffer from this? Like? Is this how
how you thought it would be going back on the show?
One of the only reasons I'm going back on for that?
That's cool. Yeah, I want to kind of go back
to the beginning of all of this, um because you're
you're this is weird because your wife's in here, but
(46:09):
like you're tied to Lauren Conrad, right, Sorry, well yeah,
we gotta go back, um because I guess I just
want to like I want to like go back to
that time in your life, um, and kind of like
I want to hear you speak on that then compared
to you now, you know, do you have specific questions
(46:31):
you want to ask around it. Do you regret any
decisions that you made back then? You know, I I
honestly don't. I want to be all cliche. It's like
all I know, I don't regret any decisions because it
allowed me to be the person I am today. Um,
but that's the truth is honestly, I wouldn't want to
have switched anything. I mean because I really really and
I can honestly look at you today and say, I'm
honestly very happy and content with who I am and
(46:53):
I really love my life, you know. And you know,
back then, there's obviously a lot of decisions, a lot
of things that were very foolish that I had to
make amends for and I had to you know, pay
the price and what that did. But for me is
all great change, proceedts or chaos, and I think being
able to have that, I mean, look at where things
are today, is everything has come full circle. Being the drunk,
womanizing alcoholic you know, twelve thirteen years ago to being
(47:13):
a person that still like changed his life around. I mean,
it's it's it's pretty cool. I mean, especially for me.
It gives me, it gives me goose bumps looking back,
you know, It's kind of seeing where things were because
I was in a sick place, you know, I was.
It was not the best person. Should she have gone
to Paris? She should have gone to Paris? People recognize you?
(47:34):
Is that always said? That made it so famous? Yeah,
it's a lot of people. The girl didn't go to Paris.
A lot of people ask they do ask about that.
That's so funny. What else did they ask you? They
always ask if the show is real? I mean that's
like probably the number one thing. Who do I like
the most? Who's who do you like the most? Now
(47:55):
or back then? Back then? Who's your crew back then?
And who's your crew this? Yeah, so back then it
was Jordan Eubanks and Brian Drole and obviously Lauren and Heidi.
That was kind of like the people I associated with
and hung out in Gin Bunny a little bit. Um.
But then this so I didn't really connect that much
(48:16):
with Frankie Frankie Delgado for sure. Um. And then this
this time around, I'd say, Stephanie, are you just saying that? No,
I'm being honest. I knew it. Heidi Spencer, uh, Audrina,
I think I mean basically I kind of hang with everybody.
I think the people I don't really hang with that
much is maybe Brody and Caitlin and uh who's actually
(48:39):
these favorite people, Brandon, but everybody else I kind of
connect with. What was the best and worst thing about
being on the O G. Hills. The best thing was
being able to have a you know, a documentary of
everything that I went through, so I could kind of
look back and be like, you have dude, Jack asked
for sure there and and I mean it's it's a
good thing to be able to reflect back on it.
I think the coolest part about that is, honestly is
(49:01):
like looking to beach and and the Hills really revolutionized
the way TV was done. I mean it was one
of the I did not know how big of a
phenomenon it was going to be, and it it was.
And that's not from my perspective, that's just from what
I've heard in the industry. Besides Lauren, who else did
you hook up with? I'm not going there, come on,
inappropriate not happening. No, No, I can tell you that. No. Listen, Okay,
(49:29):
John Bunny, Okay, that was it. That was it. They're
the only people I know, Ashley, you were on the original,
but now you're doing this, Is this easy or harder
than you thought I was gonna be doing a reality
TV show? Is it weird to say it's kind of easy? Yeah,
I don't know. I just felt like, really comfortable. I'm
really confident and comfortable with who I am. I feel
(49:50):
like I got to do it with my husband, so
it's nice to have him on the show. He made
me feel so comfortable. I don't know. And they live
a very chill, happy life, so that's also how it
is for them all. Let's be real. Actually, I know
that I'm going to say that, well, and who knows
if I'm gonna say that when the show comes out,
like I might come back and say, like I thought
(50:12):
it was. I definitely thought it was difficult. Yeah, the
scheduling wise was very difficult. Being on camera is easy.
It's driving back and forth to l A and the
fort to five times a week and all that. Having
a child is very difficult because it takes a toll
on your heart. I mean, you want to be with
your child and your family and having a little bit
of a break. But camera wise, I felt like camera wise,
I felt like it was easy. Schedule wise, I felt like,
(50:34):
it was difficult, and you're also working, and I also
work at a salon three days a week, so I'm
a hairdresser. I have a job of my own business
for almost seven years, so queen queen, So it was hard.
I do like a couple of clients at the salon,
I drive three and a half hours to Whitney's house
the studio city, shoot a one hour scene, and then
drive home. It was crazy. Quait, Sorry that question. I
(50:55):
can't believe I've never asked this. Did you watch The
guna Beach or The Hills? I did, but I was
actually an O C fan. I loved the O C.
Oh of course everyone is. Yeah, but so you saw Jason.
I did knew who he was when you met him? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
he was sight yeah yeah was it? What was he drunk?
(51:18):
I mean we were both drunk the first every year,
so I don't know if it was love. He was
really hot, but the first year, so just to clarify,
because we went on our first date with eleven months
sobriety right prior to that, A year prior to that,
before I went into celebrity rehab. We all I met
her out before I got sober. At Las Palmas. You
waited for him for rehabs? No, So I actually worked
(51:43):
at Geisha House for a little bit, you remember, Yes,
we filmed there. I used to be a maitre d
and I used to see him walk in and out
all the time with a water ball watch her bottle,
And so I heard through the grape vine that he
was going to be on celebrity rehab and he was
trying to clean up his act. He was actually living
in Newport with one of my girlfriend's boyfriends at the time,
(52:03):
and that's how we reconnected a year and a half later.
Timing is everything. Yes, okay, so now that you're on
the show, who is your favorite cast member? I did
not have a favorite. I love everybody, Honestly, I get
along with everybody. I don't really have like favorites. I
(52:24):
love Stephanie, I love Heidi, I love Adrina, I love
Misha Jen like we all get along, Whitney. In case
you want to say I'm your favorite, I don't want
to make it. I do love you. We have a
lot of fun together. I actually have never laughed so
much as when I'm with Stephanie. We have a really
(52:44):
good time and we've had a lot of like emotional
talks to like, it's been a really great season where
her and I have connected a lot. Yeah, I think
when I fall apart the most I'm with you. Actually,
I agree. Yeah, I can't wait. Are you excited for
the premiere of this thing? I'm very excited? Yes? Yes.
What does your family think? Because when I did a
bunch of reality TV shows, my family was like, I
(53:06):
don't know about all this. I think my mom loves
it because she just wants to, Like, you know, my
mom's so funny. She's like total dance mom, dance my
whole life, so she's into it totally. Um, every one
of my family is really supportive. I think timing again
is everything. It's a time in our life when we
have such an an interesting story, but so many people
(53:28):
suffer with the same thing. So I think it's like
a need right now in the world to be really
vulnerable and share real experiences and truths with people. So
I'm really excited about that, especially are dynamic. I still
can't wrap my brain around the Misha Barton aspect of
this whole thing. What what is your relationship like with her?
I really like her, Like we've gotten to know each
(53:49):
other really well. I think sometimes it's hard to kind
of connect with her. She's a really private person. Um.
I don't know. I don't know if I have like
a way of like opening people up, but I feel
like when I have conversations, I don't like to have
surface conversations with people because that's like not my m a.
If I'm gonna be friends with you, I really want
to bonded, yes, Like I just we don't like surface
I don't like surface bs like how's your day? When
(54:12):
do you something? Bag? Like I don't want to deal
with that. It's kind of like who are you, what
are you about? Where do you come from? Like tell
me your story so we can get to know each other.
It's just kind of the way I bond with people,
especially at this age. I don't want to make friends
with people that just don't want to be honest and
open and real. I don't have time for that, right,
There's just no time. Who do you guys think is
(54:32):
gonna be like the biggest storyline on the show? Ah,
I would probably say Adriana and Justin have a pretty
big storyline. Um, Stephanie's family drama has a big story,
(54:53):
But we all know that. I think those two would
be the hand our story actually, I think is pretty big,
and I have one with well you and Audrina storyline. Yeah, definitely.
Would you say I've got the craziest drama, Yes, you're
(55:16):
hundred percents. Stephanie how down, She's one of the funniest
people I've ever met. That for literally, I really hope
they don't edit funny stuff out like they did on
Maid in Chelsea for me. Now, you're so witty. There's
so many times where you just having rolling rolling. I
guess one time I was like on the floor drunk.
Watch times after we went to watch the drag show. Oh,
(55:44):
I wasn't there because I didn't go to the club
because I went home to see you know that you
weren't there. I heard you didn't know that anybody was. No, Honestly,
I really like, who is the producer there? I'm really
mad at photos today. Yeah. When I heard I was
on the floor, I was like this done. Okay, Wait,
(56:06):
actually do you drink? Yes? I do? So how is
that with with you? Guys? So I actually work like
my own twelve step program. I'm not sober um, but
it's something where I learned a lot about addiction and
the effects of alcoholism and how it's had an effect
on my life, how to not have resentments anymore. Um,
it's helped sheet me. So I have like a mentor sponsor.
(56:28):
That's kind of how I deal with my thing. Back
to your question about drinking. I don't keep it in
the house. I haven't really ever since Jason's been sober,
or even before that. I just think it's like my
own thing. It's like having candy, like on your your
on a diet and you have fresh cupcakes or a
big cake in front of you, Like, why would you
want to do that to somebody. I mean, I'm not
on a diet, so I'll totally eat those, but you know,
(56:50):
it's like a respect thing. Um. Also, I think I'm
a little older. I don't really want the calories at
much anywhere, and I got hungover after to drinks, so
I don't drink a ton, but I like to have
fun in for sure. I mean, do you remember when
we're playing pool, we had so much fun, so much
what were we drinking something weird, I don't know, pink
or something, and then and then we had another glass.
(57:10):
We were double fisting white wine. I feel like, yeah,
at the bar inside, Yeah, that was fun. That was
such a fun That's when it all kicks off. Oh
my god. So at the beginning of the series there's
a bombshell dropped like straight away and not continues. I
think it's still continuing and it will be for the
(57:32):
next series to come. I would agree. Yeah, So you
don't want to miss the beginning of the series. No,
you don't. You don't want to miss any of the series.
It's gonna be really good. Are you scared at all? Yes?
I think like, are you scared stuff? Yeah, yeah, I'm
sure she'd be scared a little bit bit. So I
(57:58):
guess like you've been through a lot. You've both been
through a lot, but you especially have been through the ring.
Or do you have any advice? I mean, obviously these
are different situations, but do you have any advice for
Stephanie with like just life turmoil? No? I no, I mean,
you know, I think with her, with her, I mean
it's I think with any family dynamic, there's too many
there's too many ins and outs with that, and it's
(58:20):
there's not enough information for me. And again, I'm not
like a therapist or a life coach in those types
of terms. But I think with that as I just
think it's stuff that they need to be able to
work on. I don't to answer it. No, I don't
have any I don't have any advice around that. You know,
it's it's too touchy of a subject. I think maybe
actually don't know. I think no. I just love she
(58:40):
wears her heart on her sleeve. She's a romantic. I
love you. I'm going to try to stop doing No,
it's good. I like that part of you. Please, No
way that you're gonna be able to do that. You
can say those things, never going to have I miss
wearing my heart on his Like I I see you
(59:00):
showing up to set being like I'm not saying anything,
and then someone's like can I get you anything? You're
like water and like, you know just what I expect.
Dad there Like, wow, that lasted seventeen seconds. Oh gosh, wait,
I more British before. Yeah, sure, but you had like
(59:22):
a draw with your voice. That's because it's pawsh Yeah.
I was back in October when I landed. I know
you were very British. Then. I can't wait to hear
that because I can't hear it, but likes so much
abuse for it. I can't wait to see how crazy
(59:42):
I sound like my AUSSI. Oh my gosh, please you.
I'll get so upset about it. No, it's very good.
I it's like crazy, It's like my phonny Drake. It's
not normal. And then a girl in the Bachelor did it,
and I was so upset about it. I was like,
that girl's hotly stealing my potty trake. Not funny. It
didn't work for her though she didn't last. Speaking of
(01:00:06):
other shows, what do you guys binging on or watching
right now? Yeah? I need ideas. Do you ever watch Narcos? Yeah?
I watched the first season and watched the second season
both Narcos Mexican Narcos and Narcos Mexico, and we obviously
just watched all the games. I didn't watch all of it.
I just watched last season. I'm like, the worst. Don't
give it away. Though I liked it, I didn't like it.
(01:00:27):
I don't want to see him like that in my
Plods class this morning. Yeah, I was bummed up. I
thought I thought the overall, like I thought the episode
five was great. I just thought the way that it
actually ended in on season six, was like kind of random,
also kind of a jerk nickname for Brand, like on
the whole time, like, why are you calling this part
He's he's a paraplegic and you're calling him Brand the Broker.
(01:00:52):
Isn't it terrible enough? Right in the walks at season one,
episode one, Right, let's think of a better name. Um.
But another good show we've been watching is She Got
Me Hooked On, which was a Stranger Thing, Ranger Things.
Since it's coming back fourth of July this year, I'm
so excited. That's one of my favorite shows. And Big
Little Lies is coming back. I'm so some watched the
(01:01:13):
first series of that. Was it really good? It happens
in my hometown, the North North, Big Little Eyes. You
haven't seen it, No, you have to watch very very good.
Nicole Kimman is insanely amazing. Oh you know what I
wanted to tell you, Wells, and literally I always want
to text you, but it's at night and I don't
want to be weird. Is I have another show for you? Wells?
(01:01:36):
And I love the same show as we love Ships
Creek Brooklyn nine nine and it's always stunning Philadelphia. I
need write down. Oh my gosh, they're the best. So
I've been watching on Amazon. It's called Those Who Can't
And also, um, it's about teachers. Yes, it's hilarious. And
(01:02:00):
Tacoma f d to Coma. The's the guys from like
Beerfest and um from what's that famous movie with the cops?
And then and they did and there? Oh god, I
gotta check out. Um. Okay, only a few more questions
for you guys. This one. I like, so, if you
(01:02:22):
and Ashley were stuck on an island with one cast
member from the Hills New Beginning, who do you hope
it is? Who's like the most? The dog? Max is
the dog on the show. Yeah, it comes to work
with me. Oh my god. Delilah's not a cast member.
I know, well she's on the show a little bit.
(01:02:45):
Why don't we give you a few names and you
can say one out of them. I mean I'd probably
pick I don't know, maybe Frankie because he's non confrontational,
but he's going to be drunk. All I can help
him though, you know. Okay, yeah we could take Frankie. Yeah,
(01:03:05):
we're also stuck on a deserted island. There's no alcohol there.
Frankie knows everybody. He'd deliver it in you have like
helicopters come or something. He's like part of Paradise set.
You know who would that be for you? Ashley? I
(01:03:26):
love it, not even your dog even I'm gonna start crying.
Bring him. Lastly, I want to know, like, what are
you guys doing right now, just like in your careers,
(01:03:47):
um and what we help promote. So for me, I'm
an advocate now, So I removed myself from like the
day to day stuff in substance to beuse mental health
where I used to be really in the trenches, you
know what I mean, And I worked for years doing that,
So I I've really removed myself and I'm I'm an
advocate spokesperson for it. And what I've basically done is
I partnered with the Northbound Treatment Centers, which is out
of Newport Beach, and we're actually giving a scholarship away
(01:04:09):
every month for individuals that need help but they don't
have the means to get it. So I think it's
just more of the best way I like to look
at it is like another two toy different things, like
a breast cancer survivor who advocates for if they survived
breast cancer. I'm like the same thing as as a
true advocate around that. And then I work really closely
with a lot of missions I work with. I'm on
the board of the Los Angeles Mission with Courtney and
Douglas Michael Douglas family, and we do a ton of
(01:04:31):
stuff down there, and work with Robert Shapiro Sapiro Foundation,
and so I just do a lot of service and
philanthropic work. Bob, he's like my bestie. Yeah, good guy.
Yeah him and Cathy yeah oh yeah. Um. So for
everyone listening, just quick note if you want more information
(01:04:52):
about any of the rehabs and businesses that Jason and
charities that Jason's involved in, UM email us and we
will connect you, or we can as go to like
what is there like a web If you just go
to my webs Jason Waller dot com, it has kind
of a cool breakdown of everything that's going on, what
we're doing, and where I'm at today and what about
(01:05:13):
you Ash. I don't have a website, but um, I'm
in the beauty industry. I've been doing hair for over
seven years and I just I'm really working on like
my hair kind of brand I do. I G tutorials
all the time, so I want people to Instagram. Um,
it's at Ashley Waller. So I do a lot of
hair tutorials, not like crazy involved hair tutorials. But I've noticed, um,
(01:05:36):
in my last seven years of work, I've noticed a
lot of people don't know how to do their hair
at all, and a lot of people don't feel confident
and sexy in their own hair. So it's just a
way of like showing people easy, quick tips and tricks
to feel confident and sexy in your own hairstyles. I
don't even own a blow dryer. Wait, so you do? Wait?
Wait do you do like to do tutorials and stuff? Do? Okay,
So then tell me what the hell is going on
(01:05:58):
with James Charles because I'm used. Okay, So I'm not
very involved in any of that. I really don't know
the whole story about all of that. Anyone really does.
I know. I just know that my assistant this morning
that came into my makeup she said that all of
the Sephora products are off what So I don't know
something his so I know there's like he lost like
(01:06:21):
two million followers because he didn't give credit to Tati,
who helped him in his career. And there's a lot
more to unveil, but that's more of like the makeup world.
I'm more into like the hair world. Yeah, it's a
little different, but it's still beauty going on with I
just don't understand it, but I weirdly love it. Yeah,
you're thinking about it a lot. We're talking about it
(01:06:43):
last week. I just think it's help the most funniest
thing in the world. Tell him what happened, anyone, Please
just email me, call me. Yeah, I don't know, honestly,
and I don't even know who this James Charles person is.
And he looks like a wonderful person. But I'm getting
so much joy out of knowing he's losing followers and
(01:07:04):
I don't know why that's happening. And that's why I
want someone to explain it to me, you know now,
I want to know. I don't know why. I'm so
team Tati. I didn't even know. I didn't even know
team was a thing seven hours ago. Yeah, I don't know.
I didn't know about the fourth thing all four. It
gonna gonna get some freaking nice shadow on the palette
(01:07:29):
I guess he was great palettes really Yeah, oh my god,
I'm actually going to sup Flora after this. Yeah, look
at that. Get the James Charles, I'm going to you.
I'm gonna send you guys. I had to go and
I have to go in to get mineral powder. Yeah,
fair essentials. That's awesome, Jason, And actually think you guys
so much for coming on the prat cast, so much
(01:07:51):
for having no one else I have to show you
is those nano iPods and all my DVDs. I've had
them sitting out and need to just take the photo
and send it to a second throw them away. Yeah,
why why do you want to send him a photo
of old technology? We had this really fun Hills social
(01:08:12):
media day and we're playing like different games and one
of them like showed us things from back in the day,
and so it was like, yeah, fliplanes and then little
nanos and Jason and I were together and I was
like I still have this and he was like what
And I was like I just asked my brother to
(01:08:32):
put music on and um. And then he was like, well,
same with like DVDs, and I was like both of
my like the wold cabinets that like, enclose, my TV
are just full of DVD next year trucker hats right, Yeah,
oh my god, I'm totally going to send you photo.
I've got a trucker. This is Miami vice that I found. Yeah,
(01:08:54):
so I'm basically still in the two thousand's. That was
actually a really fun thing that we did. I was
just asking him when is that going to come out?
Because it's so funny. I can't wait to watch it.
Some of the things we've done so much, you guys, like,
is this stuffs or like sizzle real stuff or is
(01:09:15):
just like part of the show. I think the stuff
that we're talking about it's going to be like promo stuff. Yeah, okay,
but it was. It was fun, man, I never did
anything like that before. We were like crying, like I
was on the side of the stage just crying the
whole time. I couldn't stop laughing. I just remember something
else you did. Okay, but I can't say it surprised. Okay,
(01:09:36):
so embarrassing. That's rude because now I'm not in on
the joke. That's fine, Okay, Jason can do accents to
I'm not even gone there to. That took me like
a two hour build up to get um you guys,
thank you so much for cunning on the show. Thank
you for being like so transparent. Honest, I feel like, uh,
(01:09:59):
I mean, you talk about some really hard things and
obviously this is like your thing that you guys are
doing on the show, but I do appreciate like your
candidness and and I guess courage for doing that, because
think a lot of people don't want to come into
a recording studio or on a TV show and talk
about this kind of stuff. So I appreciate that as
someone who doesn't really know you guys, So thank you
so much. Thank you so much. Guys want to see
(01:10:19):
You're just so incredible. And I'm so happy that our
listeners get to hear Ashley's side of it and how
you decided to stay with him, and I think that's
just so so strong. And I just absolutely adore you guys.
I really love you guys so much. And it broke
my heart when you guys told me about your family members,
(01:10:40):
and I'm just so happy you guys found each other
and they're all good. I love you, I love you,
thank you. And Lilah is delightful. Thank you, Lila. She's
so fun. That's your daughter. Did you guys name her
after the plain white t song or the flower? Oh
now that's a Dahlia. Yeah, damn it, Lila. That's just
(01:11:05):
a name so interesting. There were two names that we had.
It was like Harley or Bella. And this was the
first girl in Jason's family in forty years, so I
felt like Harley was like too masculine. I really wanted
her to have a really feminine name, and because she
was the first called forty years, I had to have
like a beautiful name. And Bella. Everyone in my family
(01:11:25):
was like everyone's names Bella, every dog's name is. So
we were sitting at lunch one day and you know,
Delilah Bella, Lisa Reno's daughter. She's just like this beautiful,
gorgeous girl. And for some reason, I was like, I
just love that name. She's so beautiful, Like I just
picture my daughter like looking like her. I hope, and um, yeah,
(01:11:45):
so that's We were sitting down and he said Delilah,
and my dad's it's this is like a really quick story,
really quick. But um, her middle name is Ray. We
always knew her middle name was going to be Ray
because my dad's name was Dennis Ray and she was
actually born on the solar eclipse, so I think it's
my dad's blessing as her being like a ray of sunshine. Yeah,
the first solar clips and like a million years. So yeah,
(01:12:08):
that's really cool. Yes, all right, well, thank you guys.
More information about all the things that Jason is doing
at Jason Waller dot com, sir, and then also obviously
follow Ashley's hair tutorials at Ashley Waller do it? Um?
Do you have anything else? We got? We got two
minutes left before we get them sing. Are very pretty people,
(01:12:29):
they really are, though. I just want to say what
you guys are doing is awesome too. I love that
you guys have this show and you know, for us,
I just appreciate you guys having us on and being
able to be open and transparent, you know, like when
the show starts airing, and want you guys on every week.
Always frustrating holding back so much. Yeah, I can't wait
to all this stuff because of like my favorite people
(01:12:52):
as well. But we got to be very when the
show comes out, I'll be watching. I'll be very happy
to open up a little bit more. Oh yeah, gosh,
we need the show to happen because like, I'm dying
for it the same and also, like I it's hard
for me to be invested in something that I don't understand.
So we're talking about little stuff and I like, but
the segment show airs, I'm gonna be so mad at
somebody and then they're gonna come on and I'll be like, listen,
(01:13:14):
I cannot very passionate. Well, it's very passionate. You know.
It's going to be really scary. Is He's the one
that gets guests usually. So if I've got, like, you know,
one of my crazy fights and I show up on
Monday and Wells has that person like there's nothing I
can do, Like it could be savage. Yeah, that's actually
a great idea. Yeah, well that's well. He did it
(01:13:35):
the other day with Kelly Control. Oh my gosh, I
heard that. It's pretty great. It was great. Yeah, he's
got too much power. Um. Thank you guys, so much,
so much. Um. He shows over follow Pratt cast on
I Heart Radio or wherever you listen to podcasts
