Speaker 3 (00:58):
Thanks coming, welcome, thanks for coming, No, no, thanks for coming.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
We've been talking about doing this for a while, so
I'm glad that you made it here with us. You know,
we're gonna get into it, man, We're gonna get into it,
and you know, we're gonna talk about basketball. I know
you love basketball, you love hip hop, so this is wonderful.
This is perfect. First topic, guys, first topic. It hit
us last night like a freaking earthquake. Yes, I don't
know which one was crazier. Do you guys remember when
(01:25):
when uh Kawhi Leonard chose to go to the Clippers
and I swear we had an earthquake or some ship
was going on. You guys remember that there was this
like a bigger moment because somebody can't send it to me.
I was like, man, stop sending me fake ship. I
don't want to see the ship. And then I mentioned
it back, like yo, this is real. What it's real?
(01:46):
So he got traded last night, Luca Donchs to the
Lakers for Anthony Davis. So what was what was the trade?
It was Marquise Morris. It was what went to the Lakers,
Luca Lucaxic. Okay, so they got three players. Maxi Cleaver,
Marki's Morris and Luka Donks went to the Lakers. On
(02:07):
Dallas received a two thousand and nine twenty nine twenty
nine pick, Yeap a first round pick in twenty twenty nine.
Max Christy and a d yes and then they donated
second round.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Well that Utah and people forget that Utah Jazz was
the third team, Like, what the hell for why.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
You need to get rid of a concast?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Okay, he's always something man.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I needs to come up with some question for you guys.
What is your guys thoughts on this trade? What's your
What's start with you first?
Speaker 4 (02:47):
I just don't know how it's gonna work. Like you
kind of sent two ball handlers to the same team,
So I wonder how it's gonna work offensively with the Lakers,
especially like obviously we know Lebron is the primary ball
handler and Luca is accustomed to always running their offense,
So like, what are they gonna do with Luca, Like
have him run off screens? I don't know if that's
lu so I don't really known.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
He ain't good enough shake to do that.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
So yeah, I don't know how that's gonna work. I'm
curious to see how they're gonna intertwine them into the offense.
I think for Dallas it will probably work out in
their favor, just because you know he's gonna play the five,
like that's a designated position. And I think he'll be
able to find like his role within the team a
little bit faster. Yeah, so that's my take on it.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Will he play the five because it showed I don't know, well,
they always do this right where they show the potential
future lineup. Yeah, and I know they got the what's
the guy's name, Daniel Gafford and they do have their
Lively too, so they now.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
He'll play the four. You can predominantly play.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
So you can you can play Lively at the five
and Gafford at the five, and you can play eighty
at the four. I know he's been crying about playing
five a lot. What's your thoughts on the trade though.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
A man, It just it just let me know that
I don't think there's other than maybe honest, maybe honest,
there's no more superstars in the NBA after Katie Lebron
and Steph Leave. I don't think there's a solidified superstar
(04:26):
that can't get traded. Just a simple fact, just a
simple fact that the two gms from Dallas and from
LA secretly had this conversation for like four weeks or
so apparently, and nothing leaked out. Allegedly brouh, no superstar
is safe KD was saying that the other day. Yesterday,
he was just like, man, this is this is the
(04:47):
most transparent paraphrasing, but it's the most transparent he's ever seen.
The NBA be the future is the transparency is probably
a good thing, you know. So that's what I took
from it. Overall, Lebron maybe knew. I don't think he knew.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
You don't think I think.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I think I really don't think Lebron new. I don't
think he did, right, But I think I think Dallas
is Dallas is playing the short game right now. Win
now that roster, at least the starting five and maybe
maybe they probably have seven solidified guys they're trying to
win now. Lakers once again just adds to the soap opera.
(05:27):
But I think they'll be good in the future. I
think this is more of a future play because you
Luca's twenty five.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
You know what I mean is Luca twenty five, eighty
is going to be eighties, turning thirty two in March
or February two.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
But I'll never forget. I'll never forget when he got traded.
The image that popped up in my head was when
they won the Western Conference finals last year and Luca
had a beer in his hand and Mike Finley took
that from drinking a beer. You know what I mean.
But this guy's been playing against growing ups since he
was thirteen.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
The job's not done.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I'm just I'm just saying in general, like that's just him.
So I think maybe his lifestyle, conditioning wise, he can
play himself back into shape. Brother the conditioning sev he's fat,
that's a rumor. He's fare, that's a rumor.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
He's fair.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Do you want to believe that and don't want to
believe that Lebron James.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
New I don't believe Lebron it out, absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Do you think so will help the ratings for the
overall league?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah, because she was been boring, ship been boring, It
has been boring, So I think it definitely helped the
ratings for sure with this move. But I think this
is probably the like I think the Lakers flees them.
I don't. I'm not a believer in eighty I've never been.
He's about to be thirty two years old, so he's
(06:47):
on the down side of his career. Yes, he's playing
phenomenal basketball when he plays the man, just the man
ran up and he just ran up the court and
hurt his back. We don't know what happened. He's out
for a week. What are we doing here? I'm not
giving up a guy Luca, who's top five in the
NBA for that. I don't care if Luca is to
seventy what he produced. What I've seen from Luca at
(07:11):
his best is I've never I've never seen eighty get
to that level. So I don't. I don't. I'm not
sure what Dallas was doing making this trade. Does this
trade help Dallas get over the top?
Speaker 4 (07:25):
And they went to the Western.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
They just went to the Western Conference the championship, then
they go to the Western Conference and then the championship
next year or what was it?
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I think they went Western Conference last year. The year
before they just played in the last year. Last year
they played in the Chip year before they made it.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
What So okay, So what are we doing here? Like
the pieces like they haven't even played a full season
season with Luca and everybody else.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Did you not see how Boston was like shoving him out,
like singling him out and picking roll. Yeah, but they
wanted new guys. They have Okay, they have they have.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Other guys that can defend right now. Nase uh yeah,
Naji Marshall. He's a defender. That's why they got him.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah, they were gonna get they.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Haven't played, they haven't played with this guy.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Yet, and they got Washington happy through the season.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
So like, what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Listen? Man? I feel that they felt that he had
he didn't have the conditioning like conditioning.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
With So do you believe he's to seventy or not?
Speaker 3 (08:28):
I don't believe he's too.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
So what the hell? What was he?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
What was or maybe they didn't want to pay that
super max man?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Why not? That's what the is that Boston has two
players that average or or the making over three hundred million,
the two guys on our team, but they gave him.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
That salary, Like they don't have enough cap space for
other players. So it's like they have to exercise their options.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
All that too. Man, that's believe in ad they believe
in a d that's it's Kyrie. It's Kyrie's team right now.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Man, I think I think the Lakers just fleeced They
fleeced them, And that's my thing. I I don't I
don't believe in ady. Listen, I hope I'm wrong, because
but again, anybody who thinks that Lebron James did not
know about this trade is you guys are out your mind.
I'm just being honest with you. Guys.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Listen, maybe the talks of it, maybe not that man.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
There's no way that Rob Polenka, Robert Polenka is not
a man enough. He ain't man enough to go and
make a trade like that without consulting in Lebron.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Isn't that Lake.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
This is the biggest trade. This is the biggest trade.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
This is part of Lakers legacy. Don't they get guys
from the trade. Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
But but Track was in a trade, Shaq was in
a trade, Shack.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Was was kind of Track signed signed Kobe trade in
the draft trade.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Mm hmm, there you go.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Okay, Okay, So, so you're telling me the biggest move.
Ad is a clutch client. He is a part of
the same agency as Lebron Rich Paul, and you're saying
he had zero clue, zero clue about their trading, not
only his his his client, his agency colleague, but his friend.
(10:21):
And it's like I didn't know about that. You have
a point, that's a that's come on, now, that's what
are we talking about here. Believe me. Ra Paulenka said, Hey, Lebron,
we can get Luca, but we got to get rid
of ad. Trade that right away. He's my language, Trade
him right away, Trade right away. That's what happened. Awkward.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Yeah, Like this is his closest friend, his closest TV
and he's a free agent this summer.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
He could just walk.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
And I think I think Lebron wanted it this way
because he again he doesn't want to say, oh, I'm
the one controlling things. I got more help. He doesn't
want that that narrative to come back again. But we
know this is what he does. He trades everybody. Lebron
is not loyal to nothing. He'll trade his son. His
son is next to somebody, Be careful, is asually packing
(11:12):
up soon too. He don't care anything to win a championship,
to surpass MJ. That's the only thing he cares about,
the only thing he cares about. Listen, he frigging he
knew about this. Damn.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
They need a center right now. There's so many They
got so many legs, a lot, they got so many
holes in their rocks, they got two wing guys who
cannot defend worth a dam. Lebron is forty five.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
I don't care more time. Do you think he has brother?
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
That's what I'm saying. This is this, Dallas got the
best of this.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Okay, that was my next question. Who do you think
won this trade? What's your thoughts?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I think Dalla's got the best of the trade. I
feel like the pieces that they have theyn't mesh well
together better than the Lakers. I don't know how like
Luca and Lebron will work. Just from seeing Luca's game
and obviously we've seen Lebron over the year, I don't
know where they're going to place Luca within their offense.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Like I mean, I think both can coexist. I don't
know about that, but I know I will say this,
Lebron James can move better off the ball then Luca can.
Luca is horrible when the ball is not in his hand.
I think Lebron James, He's played with Kyrie Irvin, He's
played with guys like that that have the ball in
their hand, so I think he can absolutely move without
(12:26):
the ball better, way better than Luca. So I think
if they do it, like that, they might have a chance,
But I still don't make that trade. Though.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
I think we'll see a lot of Lebron's game move
to the block, and he'll probably be playing a lot.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Of like back to the Basket, Got You?
Speaker 4 (12:41):
So that might be something, yeah, because he'll be more
athletic in that position. He'll have like a quicker step
than a lot of the five spots in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
So that is true. Yeah, Listen, that could work if
he accepts that challenge. I think we've been wanting Lebron
to playing the block for many years and he hasn't.
But okay, I think they have their game. They have
a game in February twenty fifth, Yes to La.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yes, get your popcorn?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Popcorn?
Speaker 3 (13:13):
I want to you know what the way? Get your
popcorn ready for the trade deadline? If this trade happened,
Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
What else?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Like, what what is Miami doing? Trade far?
Speaker 3 (13:29):
There's still Zach Levine, There's still guys.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Like Chicago has been holding onto Levigne for seventeen years.
This guy who is he? Who do they think he is?
Bro He?
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Net rid of him?
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Bro Hm, get his as out of there?
Speaker 4 (13:45):
What do you think Jimmy wants to play.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
From what I've heard, is Phoenix.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
How is that going to work with Katie and Bradley Beal.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
They would have to get rid of They would have
to get rid of rid of Bradley Beal, and Bradley
would have to waive it's no trade clause two and
he honestly, it might work because maybe Bradley build can
be more of you know, he can because right now
he's the third man. He can go there and be
the second or maybe even the first. Tyler heroes there
(14:16):
or Bam is there.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
You put some respect on Tyler.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
He to Phoenix is okay? With Miami Miami.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Everybody wants to go to Miami. You're rich and my
everybody want to go to Miami. But they don't want
his mom as then they.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Don't want him else. That's the only way. Mm hmmm.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Well, it looks like they're stuck. It's like they're stuck anyways. Okay, Uh,
let's talk about All Star snubs, right, So this is
very interesting. All Star weekend, they announced their the reserves
and uh, certain guys didn't make it. I want to
I want to talk about some notable snubs. So in
(15:05):
the East we got Trey Young, got Lamello, Tyrese Maxey,
Franz Wagner, Wagner, and Tyrese Halliburn. I don't think Tyrie
should have been in there. He should He's not an
All Star to me. And uh, in the West we
got some bonus Darren Fox, Kyrie, Irvin, Norman Powell, Norman
Power should have been on All Star. Sorry he's been playing.
Hello aveage twenty four career high. And Devin Booker didn't
(15:27):
make it. Uh, what is your thoughts on the reserves
that made it? And what is your thoughts like who
you think I snubbed?
Speaker 4 (15:34):
I think Devin Booker should definitely been a reserve mm hmm, yeah,
I think they missed out on that part.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
And who was who was who? Who made it in
the reserves? Who was it there?
Speaker 4 (15:45):
If not a starter, then a reserve.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
On the West, you got Williams from Oka C Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
J.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Williams, Daron Jackson you said, yeah hhmm.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I think Sangoon is injured though, right, so maybe he
won't play. So one of those guys. I don't know, man,
I don't know about that West.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I know the East. I feel a way about the East.
I don't know, I don't.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Know, im Powell should be on that. Who do you
take out I'm taking out? Well, I'm either taking out
Harding or a D I'm putting in Powell. I think,
I think regardless, Powell is going to get in as
a replacement. But if not, I would have took out
one of those two.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I don't know, I'm I'm I think so Bonus should
have made it. He has Like, here's like freaking thirty
double doubles. Bro, Like, yeah, yeah, I don't know how
he doesn't.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Well, you're looking at Sangoon, You're looking at You're basing
it off of the only thing you can really separate
the two is the wins. The wins, and he's number two,
the number tween. The thing didn't even have an All Star.
Nobody made us started from Houston, so they needed a
represented they needed a they needed representation from Rockets as
(17:14):
the number two seed for sure.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I
don't That's a tough one. That is a tough one. Okay,
So in the East, who do you any snubs? I felt, obviously,
I felt like Lamellow got snubbed. That was the one
that I chose. I think I just don't think Darris
Garland should make the All Star team. I'm just sorry,
what you shouldn't make it?
Speaker 3 (17:35):
What? What are we.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Basing it off of? We're basing it off because are
they the number one? We don't base it off team success?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
They do? They do?
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Man, that's then that's just dumb, because what is it?
Speaker 3 (17:44):
All Star vote? Coaches not for reserves? Reserves?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Right pick.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
The coaches picked the last spot. I think I think
is pretty all the reserves.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Say that Againstmelo. I think Lamelow deserves to be on
the All Star team. If not a starter, then a
reserve that I believe pretty good numbers.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
I believe so too.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
He came back really well from his injury.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
I believe I believe Mellow should have been on for sure,
the reserves.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
I think wins count.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Now, that's then that's what the hell we do that
we don't know what the criteria of being an All
Star is dumb?
Speaker 3 (18:27):
But back in the day, wins count. So it's like.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
And and his team is bottom ships who victor?
Speaker 3 (18:35):
But that's victor? When like he potentially then why we
pick and choose and when because you know those politics
and politics behind this. But like Victor is gonna be,
everybody wants to go to San Antonio all of a sudden. Bro,
I wonder why who only Darren Fox said that. I'm
just saying there's probably from that's probably more than there's
probably more as well.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
You know there's got it average twenty one, two rebounds
and six assist My guy, that's not no mellow numbers, Mellow, mellow?
How much average thirty? This guy should There's no way
Cleveland should have three players in the All Star Game?
Are you shouldn't?
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Like?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
What are we talking about? Got to Nicks in the
starting five? It don't matter, bro, I'm just saying the
Knicks players are better than the only one who should
be representing from Cleveland, I'm sorry, is Donovan Mitchell. He's
the only sure thing. Yeah there, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Listen, man, they're like the modern day the modern day
Detroit Pistons.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Come on, man, that's you gotta put me four.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Guys in it last time? No Detroit, Yeah, Detroit, Detroit there? Yes, yeah,
so what I mean?
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Yeah, yeah, Mellow should Mellow gets in there. Mellow should
get in there, like Tyres Max's having a great year.
Yeah he got snobs, you got Trey Young is having
a pretty good year, like you're leading You're leading the
league in assists. Here we go, Okay, so Trey is
tre Young having a better season than Daris Garland?
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Yeah, yes, I agree, he's leading the league in assists.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
I agree? So how Darius Garland should not be an
All Star? Who did that? Shit?
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Come on?
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Man?
Speaker 4 (20:11):
I mean it's still early, like there might be injuries.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
And Darius Gordon always gets injured. He he just walks
and he gets injured. So he's one of those guys.
But okay, it's mellow for me. Mellow, mellow, it should
be an All Star. I'm sorry. I don't care what
anybody says. So, Tyler Hero, what is your thoughts on
Tyler Hero making? He was the last person picked. He
made his first time, first time making make an All
(20:36):
Star team? What you guys thoughts on Tyler Hill?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
So right now he's the top twenty four player.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
That doesn't mean shit.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
So you better apologize to the bed.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
That doesn't mean that he's a top twenty four players.
Yeah he said he's a top twenty player.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
I think he stepped up a lot in Jimmy's absence,
So I would say, like he deserves to play. If
not a starter then, which I think he got picked
out of as a reserve. So yeah, like he's definitely
earned his stripes. So I'm excited to see him playing.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Who's in that Who's in Miami's division?
Speaker 2 (21:11):
So let me just give you Tyler Hero's numbers twenty
three point eight, five point five, five point four. He's
shooting forty seven percent from the field.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, I think one of the criterias. You need somebody
from that division as well. Man, they probably have the
highest record in that particular division. Tyler Hero had to go. Man,
you have to get selected. Why because they need representation
from that whatever division.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
If you if you're starting a team, are you who
you picking? Are you picking Tyler Hero or Bam bam?
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Probably probably Tyler Hero?
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Man? Can you can you explain to everybody why you're
doing that?
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Why not you need somebody on the perimeter, like the
game is getting towards perimeter players.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Okay, okay, so you would you trust that perimeter guy?
That's what you trust in the perimeter. Okay, sounds good.
That's why you're gonna lose on Thursday. He trusts Tyler
Hero on his perimeter.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Okay, already, then the game winner.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, he just hit a game winner. Yes, let me
give them, let me give the ball to my five.
They hit a buzzer beater, not a hero. Okays the five?
Right now?
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Who's there for its good? I mean, listen, listen.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
I don't want to look like a hater Tyler Hero,
you know, I you know, I can't say right now
it's still it's still there. Still don't prove that he's
a twenty top twenty player. That's not the window anyways.
Uh yeah, okay, I want to listen. I gotta talk
about this kid here, man, Isaiah Hamilton. Who is Isaiah Hamilton?
(22:57):
He goes to crush these fifteen freaking years old man.
So I don't know have you heard have you heard
of Isaiah Hamilton? Okay, so Isaiah Hamilton is sixty six,
He's He goes to Crestwood Prep and Scarborough I believe,
or is that North York some wherever?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yea.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
And this kid here is doing dunks in the game
like he's at the dunk contest, like he's doing dunks
where he's throwing the ball on the floor, catching it
on the break through his legs, and dunking like he's
trying some outrageous dunks in this game, like I've never
seen this before. What is your thoughts on Isaiah Hamilton.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
I think he is still has a way to go
in regards to development, but he's a man amongst boys
at the moment, especially in the open court, defensively changes
a lot in the half court. Definitely a kid to
look out for. Man up and coming. There's they're a
crop of them, but he's one of the top guys
(23:57):
to be looking out for him.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I was I was talking to a few which is
and they said that Isaiah Hamilton, he's going to be
one of the special ones to come out of this
country in a few years. He doesn't think that he'll
stay here all four years for prep, but they think
that he's going to be one of those ones, like
generational guys, like he's gonna be a top tier like
a Wiggins in the States or and or Andrew Wiggins,
(24:22):
that type of player, and then when he goes to America.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Well, he definitely has the motor, definitely has the height,
athleticism still and it's still even touches peek yet, like
you know what I mean, he's a baby still, man,
you know what I mean. So yeah, shout out, shout
out the whole family over there, man, whatever whatever. Then
those geens man control out the league.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
But yeah, wow, yeah, yeah he looks special.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
Man.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Yeah he does keep working, young boy. Man. I can't
wait to see him in the future.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Man, but I can't. I can't go out without saying,
you know, shout out Chilo Brown. You did give them, forty,
did give they lost, but he gets pressed with forty.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Let me get here, we go, here we go. This
flavor right here. If you guys don't know what this
is called Crown Blue, this flavor right here. Uh yeah,
it's the newest flavor Powerade.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
So yeah, it looks refreshing.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Oh yeah, let me let me take a So looks refreshing. Man.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
Okay, since since we're on that Crown, shout out Crown,
well Crown, they blessed me with this medium shirt even
breathing this ship. But you know what I mean, it
looks good. You know what I mean, it looks real.
They did their damn thing at the Crown, you know,
I mean, at the grind session it went four and.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Oh yeah, but but we'll get to that. Hold off
on that real quick. I just want to get into
the new women's league that going on this the three
on three league. Yes, let's let's talk about it more
like this whole thing just it just came. I feel
like it just came out of nowhere. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
So there's this new women's league. It's based out of Miami.
It's called the unrival League. Rivalry Unrivaled so put together
by two current players that play in the WNBA. They
are actually former teammates at the University of Yukon, Brianna
Stewart and the Natipa Collier sorry by Butchard her name,
(26:13):
but they're actually playing in the tournament, playing in the league.
It's a three and three tournament. There's thirty two or
thirty six players from the WNBA that are playing in
the league. So basically it's just an opportunity for girls
to stay at home. A lot of players, as you know,
they don't want to go overseas to play, like life
overseas is a lot different from being in Canada or
(26:36):
in the US, So it just gives them the opportunity
to stay at home and make good pay, staying in
a place where they feel comfortable and they have all
their necessities like just around the corner. And actually, like
the salary is a lot higher than what the WNBA offers.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
That's amazing, I think.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Yeah, I think this really puts the WNBA in perspective,
whereas they have to change what they're doing now, like
it's no longer like this is what we're giving you
guys as players, and you have to accept it, like
they have other options.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
So because there's only a few that make top top
dollars where they actually don't have to go because if
you guys don't know, I'm sure you know. If you
guys WNBA players, they play all summer and then when
the fall hits, they go overseas, and then they come
back around and play all the way till damn near
the season starts again.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Yeah, so it's basically like all year round. Like some
players literally only get like maybe two weeks off.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
That is insane.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
Yeah, this season starts. The WNBA season starts in May,
and they go overseas from like if they don't make
the playoffs, they go over from like September till when
the WNA season comes back some teams if they make
the playoffs overseas, they're coming back like just finishing off
playing their great their finals.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
That is insane. That gotta be some weird in tier
on your body.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Mentally, oh my god, imagine doing that. I'm playing all summer.
People want to chill. When do you get to enjoy
life or someone that you made? Like, when do you
get to enjoy it?
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Two weeks to do that ship?
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Two weeks? Then back back to work. You know, have
you seen anything from this league?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I seen? I forgot the who's in the finals. It
was New York and New York and the links right,
the links, Yeah, one of them. I forgot her name,
super crafty guard with low hair. She she blocked Grinder,
Brittany Grinder, Yeah, blocked that. That was the nice little
(28:33):
highlight I seen. Uh yes, it Actually Angel Reese Gotta
Gotta got ejected. I think she's the first person get
ejected out of the league, you know what I.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Mean, explain herself to the racke and he just wasn't
having it and then he just tossed her. But I mean,
you know, yeah, like a lot of people trying to
like tune in to watch her play, so like tossing
her you.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Know sometimes purpose Yeah, got a chill sometimes and understand
don't take personally, but at the end of the days,
three on three full court, I think that is a
dope way of playing ball. You know, everybody's so used
to the half court three on three. No, you're going
full you know, so you get your conditioning in. You're
in Miami making some coin, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (29:21):
How much teams are there?
Speaker 4 (29:23):
There are six teams, six teams, and halfway through the
season there's going to be a one v one tournament. Yeah,
it's coming up. I think it's either like the fifth
week or the sixth week within the league that they're
going to have one to one. There's prize money for
first the first player, second player, and third player depending
on how they advance, and then their teammates get money
(29:46):
to so the person that wins, they'll make a certain
amount and then the following teammates will make money. Also.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Nice w wnb able to take some notes. Man's they
started losing some players for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Okay, so how do you how do you like? Where
do they show the games? There? Live streaming?
Speaker 4 (30:04):
It's live stream, It's on t N t T S
n T TV, so they allowed Like obviously US Canadians
to watch a lot of times, we don't really get
that access. So everyone can tune in wherever is most
accessible for you as a viewer, like tune in and watch.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Is Clark playing in it?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Or no, no, she's not playing in it.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
It's too big time.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
I don't know if they asked her to play or
she declined, Like I can't say.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
She just make too much money, so she she's playing
like she moved like the NBA guys like I.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
Or maybe she wanted to enjoy her off season.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
When get given all that got that money, you can't
because no one else is getting money like that. Angel
is getting a lot of money too. I see something.
She just retired her mom. That was amazing.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Yeah, man, that's every that's every Hooper's dream. Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I don't know Angel, it's all the hate. Man. I
like Angel rees. Man. I know she talks a lot,
but why not, that's what the game about, Like trah.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I've seen I've seen a lot of criticism about her
game still not still not evolving. But I think she mastered.
Just she's gonna be like that hustle hustle type player.
She's gonna she's gonna they say that she likes to
patterns stats. I just think she has a great, great,
great rebounder.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
You know what I mean. She can block shots. She's
a great defender.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
That's cool.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
I think everybody she's pretty versatile, like she can bring
up the ball. I think she looks for her teammates
a lot. I think she's trying to find herself. Like
she just finished playing her rookie season, so obviously that's
a big adjustment from playing college level. Now you're playing
like in a league with grown woman. So like, obviously
her niche is like getting rebounds and you know, being
(31:44):
a great defender. But I think she brings a lot
of energy energy. I think she brings a lot of leadership.
So I mean I'm looking forward to like seeing what
she brings. I think this league will also allow her
to be more versatile. You can see you're shooting a
lot more jump shots and stuff. So yeah, I'm excited
to see her growth, especially her going into her second
year in May.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
So yeah, she's left handed, right, So my thing is
when I see a lot of left handed players and
they have like a funny form. I'm like, just try
to shoot what you're right. Like, I see, remember when
Tristan Thompson just changed all himself went right. This ship
was looking crazy when you' shooting left handed, and he
just went this man is changing went right hand. I
(32:24):
was thinking the same thing with Angel. But you know, listen,
I'm gonna check some games out. Listen. I love woman
watching women's basketball, Like I just got done watching Shy.
You know they were playing Mississippi. Yeah, they smacked, they
smacked them. So I listen, I enjoy watching the girls basketball.
So I'll definitely check this league out for sure. Yea.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Also Asia Wilson, she just got her retired at the
University of South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah, so I've seen her doing that little polls.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
In the.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
No one will be able to wear the number twenty two?
Big time, Yeah this big time. Yeah. She had historical career. Yeah,
she won a national championship there, also won two w
NBA titles, three w A MVP titles.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
So he's the best player in the NBA right now. Yeah, yeah,
I agree. I agree.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
She got her jersey retired today.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Also, what what don Staley has been able to do
at South Carolina. It's phenomen incredible what she's been able
to do over there. She's produced the girls that she's
moving Like Rick Petite, I mean John Caliper winning chips,
winning Calibra, don't win ship, right, he won one ship
(33:38):
and said about seventy five guys to the league. Don Stanley,
she wins, and she's sending.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Her girls to w for real real.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
So that's the difference. Oh and she and she really
she can really coach. Like you know, there's a lot
of people that are good motivators, Like I think Caliper
is a great motivator, but I think a guy like
uh who college coach? Uh? What's the duke's former's coaches coach? K.
He's a great exig and o's guy. And this is
(34:08):
why he always spang like when Caliper gets some tight games,
like he just loses a lot fun. But no, yo, listen,
I love I love what he represents. I know he
doesn't really focus. He focused on winning, of course, but
his main focus is getting those guys in the league,
which I do. I do like that. No, I got
a shout it down stadium.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
She's amazing he's got a nice max contract.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Definitely.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Yeah, it's one of the highest paid coaches I think
in the history.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
And she's the Flies coach on the sideline. You don't
wear everything Gucci, yo, she don't dress like the traditional coach.
Yeah he's fly Yeah, backing it up. Shout out to
her man, But okay, I want to get into Grind Session.
Grind Session was here in Toronto this week.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
The last time Grind Session came out, it was in November,
November eighth weekend around there, and you know it came out.
They came out with the top players in high school.
You know, Darren Peterson was there. You know a J
the band staff. These guys look like NBA players playing
in high school. They are NBA players playing in high school.
There's their games that are like when you when you're done.
(35:17):
Check out Darren Peterson. Uh aj my man was able
to interview them. They both made McDonald's All American Prolific
Prep had two players who made McDonald's All American Game.
Uh Nico was the other one. So it was phenomenal.
Listen before I go, I got to give a shout
out to Daniw Prow Uh Denia. She just made McDonald
(35:40):
All American Games. So we got to give that young lady
a shout out. She's doing wonderful things over there at
IMG Academy and she also signed with Tennessee so I'm
so excited to look. I'm looking forward to seeing her
play next year. Deny it prow she is, She's tough.
This kid is amazing, Like this is this is the
(36:01):
evolution of women's basketball, especially in Canada. This is where
it's going. We're sending girls to the McDonald's All Americans.
You know how big that is?
Speaker 4 (36:11):
Probably like the second Canadian player to go.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Who's the first one? No girls, girls or field.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
She plays on the Olympic team, the Canadian Olympic team.
She went to the University of u c l A. Yeah,
and she was a McDonald's American.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Okay, I did not know that. Okay, not man, that
is that's tough. So she's an elite like Category two girls,
that's elite. Yeah, we do have a few boys who
made it, but like you said, Olu was first. He
was the first McDonald's Americans Canada period. He was in
the same class as Lebron. So anyways, going back to
Grind Session. So Grind Session. They the first one is
(36:48):
at pan Am amazing turnout, you know, shout out to
mister Hudson for putting on that event. So they brought
it back to Toronto, but they held it at Royal
Crown this year and that this was just a big
time event. You know, had all the Canadian teams. I'll
give you, I'll give you a rundown on all the
teams that were there. Uh it had who did it have?
(37:13):
It had Royal Crown, Bond Academy, Orangeville Prep, Niagara Prep.
Bill Crothers was there, and Summon near Francois that's in Quebec.
It had King's Christian Redmond Basketball or Capitol Courts, uh
low Elon Prep. I don't know who. Oh, I don't know.
(37:35):
I don't know who that is. But yeah, so and
it had fort erie yes boys. So Royal Crown. I was.
I was there on a minute there out there on
Friday to watch the junior girls Royal Crown team and
listen to me, man, they played against Bond Academy. These
girls they're at Royal Crown. The junior girls they're special.
(38:02):
They are special. When I mean they press a whole
entire game. I have to ask the coach, what the
hell do you do is condition What do you do
for conditioning? Because the girls be the Girl Bond Academy
was in it in the beginning, first five minutes, and
then they just started wearing down, wearing down, and the
girls just kept going pressing the whole game, the whole
(38:27):
entire press the whole game that is mine and said,
what are you doing for conditioning? What the hell do
you do to get these ladies moving the way? Like
like rotate rotate summing In the next he come in.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
That's a good luck for them though.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Oh my god, those girls are recruiting.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
That's a really good look.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
They are special. The junior girls World Crown Prep. Those
girls are special. No, they have a grade eight, grade seven,
grade eighteen to they Yeah, so they haven't lost the
game in three years. They're like ninety seven and oh right,
the junior girls, they haven't lost their undefeated this year.
They haven't lost yet, so they're Man, I'm so impressed
(39:09):
by those girls.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
Watch out for Chance Berry plays.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Yeah, Royal crowd.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
Also, she's a special player. You're going to see big things.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
She's gonna be one of them ones man. Yeah, and
then I got to see the Royal Crown, the senior girls,
senior girls, they played against, no, the boys, sorry, the
junior boys. They play against Bill Crothers and the junior boys.
They got a few of your guys on there right. Uh,
what's his name Filipino.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Kid, Nicholas.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
Oh, he's tough, he's tough man.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Yes, he's like tough.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
You have tel Matteo. Listen, this Matteo, and he said, Nicholas.
Those two kids, we're gonna hear about them soon. Yeah,
they played Junior Crown. These two young gentlemen, these two kings,
they're phenomenal. Like the skill set now that I'm starting
to see with with these young players nowadays. Their guards,
(40:07):
they're two guards, but they can shoot the ball. Matteo, Listen,
he got the hand though, where he's more I think
a little bit more hercue jerking with his handles, and
he's more athletic and you can get to the cup.
But they both can shoot the ball. Phenomenal like Again,
the game was close in the beginning and then eventually
(40:28):
start wearing them now, wearing them now, and it was
eventually was over, you know, and they beat Bilk Caruthers.
But those shots, I got to give a shout out
to the junior boys over that royal crown, and then
I got to give a shout out again for the
senior women, like they got girls. I think they got
I know, I know they got a girl who committed
to pit University of She didn't even play. Wow, she
(40:52):
didn't even play. And they played the team against it
was I'll tell you the team that they play, Saint Francois. Listen,
they got a girl on that team, number twelve. She
came down.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Cross cross.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
She did three crossovers in a row. I said, Oh
my god, who they call her? They said that she's
like Lebron, James and Montreal. That's what they said.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
That's what it is.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Right there. I was like, I'm like, what is happening
right now? What is going on with Withen basketball?
Speaker 3 (41:27):
If it's crazy?
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Because most of the time when the girls are playing,
that's okay, the boys play, Jim's packed, then the girls play,
and then Jim gets a little empty. No no, no, no,
Jim's packed.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Stay it was packed.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
The whole time I'm sitting there, I'm getting footage like, oh,
are you kidding me? She came down and yo, listen,
those girls from Montreal, they can play.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Of course, it all can pass.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
Dribble, shoot, don't leave them open. It's over again. It
was a close game that Press, the ladies flying like
this warm down. I think they start off like twelve
old against World Crown and they just turned it around
and those ladies turned it up. Press the whole game.
(42:12):
It was a rap beaten by like twenty five easy.
Like what Royal Crown is doing as far as with
their girls and the boys over there is a phenomenal job.
That got to beat one of the top tier programs.
It's not in history like what they're doing as far
(42:33):
as with all of their teams, the champions that they won,
like the juniors are going for a three p the boys,
the girls are too. And then you know, moving on
to the you know to the the Prime show yesterday
with Royal Crown Verse fort Erie the boys.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
That was a game right there.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
It was so hot in there. A pipe popped in
the damn school flying up. It was crazy. It was
it was just it just it was just people standing
on the side. Media, everybody was there. It was it
was crazy.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
It was dope.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
It was a close game, yo, Justice Man, you know
he dropped thirty five on him.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
It was allowed thirty five too.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Like this kid right here, I believe the Scarborough kid,
Justice Man. He is. He's a phenomenal guard and I
knew he was going to play well. When he came
out and he made his first two shots, I was like, yeah,
he's looking, he's.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
And they're his rims.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yeah, because he didn't shoot particularly well at William but
he shot the ball wonderful last night. Uh, he had again.
I was told that was probably his best game in
the Crown uniforms.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
No, it was phenomenal to watch. It was like, yo,
he kind of had a play like Kyrie, Oh, Kyrie.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Special, just a special went eleven.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
At one point they were down eleven. The pipe the
pipe burst. Smoke's coming out of the event. Are that
they're going to cancel this game?
Speaker 2 (44:03):
Yeah, cancel, that's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
To thought, this is gonna get canceled. And then that
the Crown team, you know, they're their maintenance team, went
in the back. Then what they had to do. Smoke's
gone continue that game, let's run it, and then they
just they just closed that lead man, no lead safe
around Crown.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
Jean is an excellent player for sure. He's just so
athletic man. He's gonna he's gonna make a lot of
money playing basketball.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
But let's keep it a buck. Let's keep it a buck.
Not everybody played on ford E.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
It was not everybody played. Christan Beffor didn't play.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
For and he's a major piece on that.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
But but another starter didn't play for real Crown to
Kimani's starter, the start he didn't play and he's the
and he's the best guard as far as on ball
defense all of Canada. This kid here and they needed
him last night because they have two guards over there
are dogs like the two guards that they have a
(44:59):
fort erie, their top tier like fort erie. This is
why I'm this is why I'm so hyped about the game,
because fort erie is not garbage. They're probably if not
one A, one B. As far as programs in Canada,
I think he has top twenty five. They got both
forty themes at the moment rank one and two. Yeah
you know you got. But TJ. Richards played well last night,
(45:19):
Yeah played well. Justice played well like uh, they won
by ten the game. But it started happening the game
started getting away from Fort Erie when the coach at
a while and then and then you know, it got
thrown out. And then yo, for our real Crown has
put their foot on the gas and it was over.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
And didn't look back.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Yeah, I didn't look back. But I got to shout
them boys. Man, I gotta I gotta shout at them boys.
I know you need to shot them boys out.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
Yeah, I got to shout them out. Man, have jazz.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
No, listen, I want I gotta put some context into
what we're we're talking about. No, I gotta explain what happened.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
Let me get the juice again here.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Yeah, so yeah, this is if you guys don't know,
this is Crown Blue, gatoraded you know, or what do
you powerade? Crown Blue? You know, get you some anyway,
So we made a bet. Yeah I got here, mister Blackwood,
Sir William Academy where they have a top tier player
and then there's a fosa really really good player and
(46:14):
he goes to William Academy. Was a versus Royal Crown
and shout.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
Out Tristan, shout out Darkle, I mean, shout out trist
and Darkle, shout out trust you already know what it is,
William Academy, but don't.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Whatever the bet was, you know, whoever loss has to wear.
If I lost, I'd have to wear some some tight ass.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
You know.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
William Academy got stretch. He you know my man X
blessed him. It's not even tight enough, but it should
be tighter than that. But you know you need to,
you need to. We're here, they're going to see this
because you know, nobody we didn't think they were paying
attention to the post because we post on Instagram and
not one sole commented, so that they won that game
(46:55):
posting and here comes to comments crazy that one point
when you know they reposted that thing like twenty times,
it's a like ten ku right now. Anyways, what do
you have to say to Royal.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Crown Royal Crowd, Man, I like to apologize, you know
what I mean? On behalf of the hip Hop poops.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
No no no no no no no no, this is you
by yourself as I went with Royal Crown, So this
is by yourself on.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
Behalf of Woods. You know what I mean? I like
to apologize for second guests and y'all, man, you know
I thought really and truly the law of average. You
slapped up my William Academy guys by twenty. I thought,
you know what, they're gonna get their get back, which
they did thirty seven minutes. They will give you out
of the business. So that justice dunk and then momentum
just switched and William William kind of folded like lawn
(47:40):
chairs that last three minutes. But it was definitely a
learning lesson. Don't sleep on William Academy. But to say
what I gotta say, I apologize. You gotta definitely the
number one program in Canada and yeah, sorry, there you
have it.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
And one thing I want to note about Royal Crown
is that they're going for a three pete this year.
Three champions in the roof. You guys don't know what
the three pet is, but they're doing it without a top.
Like they don't. They haven't had an a large offisher,
they haven't had an a fosa. They're just dogs over there.
They play hard, they can do the basics.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
I think they're mentored and coach the right way.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
And they're mentored and coach the right way, and those
kids listen. They trust what Royal Crown is about. And
that's why there. That's why they're buy in, buy in exactly,
they buy it, and that's why they're successful. Shout a
royal crown again, go get your your powerade. Yeah, I
feel good and the size that fits. See us on
(48:48):
Thursday because the BT what is that belt to ask?
Is going to continue with t C I versus West
View Belt to ask for Yeah? For you doing? Yeah, yeah,
win's by thirty five. Let's get it anyway.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
I can't believe that. I can't believe you believe that.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Listen, it's gonna happen. We're gonna be right back here
and you're gonna see Anyways, let's talk about Kendrick Lamar.
H So he's one, he's he's he's a He won
Grammys for Not Like Us, So that's okay. So what
is your guys thoughts on Kendrick Lamar winning the Grammys
(49:28):
for Not Like Us? Let me say it again, Kendrick
just won three different Grammys for Not Like Us, Best
Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video. What
is your guys thoughts?
Speaker 4 (49:38):
Okay, So I don't have a problem with him winning.
It's just the fact that you had to out another
rapper in order for everybody just to start listening to
him again. Like obviously he always had his own fan base,
but we weren't just talking about Kendrick Lamar like this
in twenty three, Like this whole rap war started and
now it brought light to his artistry and he kind
(50:00):
of just took that and ran with it and was like, yeah,
let me make you know, a couple more hits album.
So you know, no knock on his work or creativity,
but like you can be creative without always having to
you know, come for somebody, come for somebody's juggler. Like
I understand that's the artistry of rap. You know, it's
(50:21):
always like rap beefs and all of that. But I think,
you know, trying to always tarnish somebody's name to make
a coin is like, are you creative without doing that?
Because we're we listening to Kendrick Lamaran a consistent basins
was without this whole rap beef You asked me that question, Yeah, okay,
so no.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
I wasn't I be honest?
Speaker 4 (50:43):
Okay, So a lot of people were exactly my point.
So my point is valid, Like you know, do your thing,
like you don't have to out somebody in order for
you to be successful like okay, yeah, Drake had.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
He understands what's happening, and he understands what the formula is.
Speaker 4 (50:59):
So he's going to use it, this momentum that he
has and make money off of it.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
Absolutely, Wait until two weeks he's going to be dising
Drake like crazy, Yeah on the super Bowl stage and
things are things are, things are a little dead right now,
you know. You know the last thing that they dropped
was the thirty for thirty with Sis and obviously they
were throwing jabs at Drake and that song some things
are a little quiet. Now he's gonna it's too quiet, Yeah,
(51:23):
but he has to come with something else, and that's
going to be a super Bowl stage. This him on
that stage, that's going to be it's going to be
talked about again.
Speaker 4 (51:31):
And then it's going to die down and down.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
He's going to go on tour and he's going to
go tour.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
It's going to be talked about, talking about it again.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
Absolutely. So if he doesn't, I don't want I don't
even want to hear. I don't want to hear if
he ain't dising Drake, I don't want to hear him.
Speaker 4 (51:46):
Now do you think this whole banter. Do you think
this affects Drake's career? Do you think all the hit
records that he has. I mean they're going to be
hit records regardless, but do you think this kind of
takes a stab at it somewhat?
Speaker 2 (51:59):
No, Drake's in Australia right now. We all sold out shows.
M he's twenty he's how do you how far is
Australia twenty four hours in the year he's They call
it down on beyond that on the other side, he's
on the other side, sold out shows. It won't have
no effect.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
Kendrick just opened as.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Well, can Drake just has to go back to doing
what he does? Yeah, and just making the hits for sure. Right,
what the Internet likes to do is they like to
get on trends. Right, Kendrick said that he is, uh,
you know, a colonizer. Now the whole world is like,
you're a colonizer. But we never heard anybody else say
colonizer until Kendrick said that. So you're trying to tell
(52:40):
me that you didn't you didn't know that that Drake
was a colonizer before the beef. You're just calling him
the colonizing now, so people are like what we call it,
follow fashion, follow fashion.
Speaker 4 (52:51):
Or people like they jump the.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Band Usay, so again, like could end his career, Absolutely not,
but I would say and.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
His career, but just kind of take a stab at it.
But I think Drake's good on his own.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Yeah, he's good on his own. You can tell. Like
he hasn't been in this position where the whole world's
hated him, so I think that is just a little
different for him. But listen, he just has to get
fix the label stuff, get back to doing what he
does best, making hits, because those guys are lazy. Is lazy,
He doesn't. He can't create hits without the banter and
and the you know, the dissing. That's the only way
(53:27):
is if he had a song called washing the party died.
We're laughing, like, what is this ship? Just trash? Is garbage?
We don't want to hear it. And I believe a
lot of the music was forced on us. I know
Ken's hear and he's a Kendrick fan, but you know,
I know he's sick right now listen to us. Anyways,
what is your thoughts with the Grammy stuff?
Speaker 3 (53:47):
I've never heard of up until now a dis track
when a Grammy and like, how many how many dis
tracks have we heard in our time? That was to
me better than not like us. They're saying that this
is the best, this song of all time.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
Absolutely, it's not better than hit Him Up, better than
hit him it's not even better than the Ether. Come on,
it's not even better than the Ether.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
But again, it's on the same level of the Takeover, Like,
I don't think it's.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Better than Takeover because Takeover jay Z broke naws down
like bar for bar, line for line. But the thing
is with those hits back then, they didn't have They
didn't have this machine called TikTok Yeah or Instagram, So
it's different. Imagine imagine watching the hit Him Up video
on TikTok now, like, say it's new this guy was
(54:43):
in the video with Biggie and Faith Faith. You know
that would be clown, that would be hilarious. Right, They
didn't have that same the same machine. So the now
that that effect is so different, it's so much a stronger.
But uh, he made history, he made his.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Three congrats, congrats, congrats.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
That's all.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
We got to keep keep it coming, man, keep the
hits coming. The hits coming man.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Okay, okay, that's all we got anyway, Okay, I want
to talk about the album GX. It went platinum. So
now that it's been say what a couple of months now,
two months to two months and some change? Okay, so
uh it took it. Let me tell you. It took
gn X fifty seven days to go platinum. M MA.
(55:36):
If you guys don't know, platinum is is over a
million sold? Right? What is your guys thoughts on that?
What's your next.
Speaker 3 (55:42):
Albumsh that button he got, he got that support where
you can just push the button, and I guess Drake
had that back in the day, right that that machine
that used to support Drake. You know it's doing that.
It's working its magic for.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
Right now, so that I think it should just ride
the wave, like you know, basically is what he's doing.
He's riding the wave of he has everyone in his corner,
everybody wanting to see what his next move is, what
his next single is gonna be, who he's gonna feature
within a song or vice versa. So just ride the wave, because,
(56:18):
as I said, we weren't listening to him before. I'm
not a hater of Kendrick. But it's just like build
your own art without having to tear somebody else's name down.
That's just my perspective.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
I'm gonna tell you something real quick, but that's wrapped up.
He prepared for the comments.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Be prepared.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
Yeah, I know they're gonna cover you.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
Meet him, deal with it all the time.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
They're for you.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Be prepared. Okay. So fifty seven days. Let me tell
you the fastest rap albums to go platinum in uh in?
How many days? So u CLB it took twenty two
days to go platinum, right, Her loss took fifty days
(57:07):
to go platinum. Chromo Copia took eighty days to go platinum,
so it's in good company. It's in good company. For
All the Dogs took forty nine days to go platinum.
So Drake has actually three albums that went platinum faster.
(57:31):
So CLB twenty two days for All the Dogs forty
nine days and her loss fifty days to go platinum,
so it's in good company. GNX fifty seven days to
go platinum. So question about GNX, what is your thoughts
now two and a half months has gone by, what
is your actually thoughts on the album? Is a great album?
(57:54):
Was it forced upon us? Like? What's your thoughts? What
would you give the album? Out of ten?
Speaker 4 (58:01):
There's a couple of good singles. I'm not a hater
of Kendrick. Let's just get that out there before they
slandered me.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
It don't matter what you say, It don't matter they come,
don't matter. There's a couple of.
Speaker 4 (58:11):
Good singles that I like. I haven't listened to it like,
and it's entirely repetitively. I just kind of pick out
the songs that I like and just listen to those.
Speaker 2 (58:20):
So the repay, the replay value for the whole album
is just not for me personally.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Yeah, I wouldn't say that. I would like to like
listen to it, just like you know, one after the other,
But I just kind of pick what I like and
just add it to my playlist.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
Okay, what about you? What's your thoughts on gn X
now that you have two and a half months of
it being out.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
I mean, it was a solid it was a solid album.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
I didn't know what would you what did you give it? Sorry?
Before you go, what'd you give it? What is it
out of ten?
Speaker 4 (58:49):
I'll say seven point five some point?
Speaker 2 (58:50):
Okay? There you go. That's not bad, that's that's very good.
What do you give it? Go ahead?
Speaker 3 (58:53):
I gave it a I gave it an eight. You know,
I didn't think it was an album though. I thought
it was like a mixtape.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Forty four minutes LONGO.
Speaker 3 (59:01):
I mean I thought it was I thought it was
like just some put together, you know, to put everybody
on notice. And then I thought maybe the album's gonna
come out maybe after.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Or before the super Bowl, super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
So yeah, I still think that's the play. I really
think he has something cheft up, and you know, something's
gonna drop after or before super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
So they said that they said that gn X was
dropped because and I don't I'm not saying that this
is the truth. I didn't get any I don't have
no sources. But they said that gn X was dropped
because the Universal told Kendrick that Drake is gonna drop
his album Party Party next Door. So they wanted they
wanted this album to step on that album, and apparently
(59:46):
they were going to try to teach Drake a lesson.
They want to humble Drake right now, and I think
step on it and then push Kendricks lamars and let
him outsell him and whatever and then try to make
try to help hope hopefully that Drake struggles and they
can plow on him. So I was told this is
why it was a surprise, but it wasn't really a
surprise for Kendrick knew he heard got word and this
(01:00:09):
is what this is what the plant. I don't know
how true that's what that's what I heard, But I
still listen. I still go. Now that the album has
been out two and a half months, I give gen X,
I give it. I give it a four point five
five five No, no, I give it a four point
four and a half out of ten wo or five.
Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
So we were way too generous.
Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, why is that? I don't know. Listen,
I like Dodger Blue, like peak aboot, what is that ship?
Come on man, that's something. They letting this guy get
away with this ship, Scott. They're letting him get away
with that.
Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
But maybe it's l a thing like they have a
l a swag and.
Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
That's how I was taking LA album then, but mixed it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
We and I know, squabbling up and peekaboot, we ain't
we ain't doing the ship over here? I'm sorry, Like,
that's the West Coast. That's cool, but listen, man, I
like I like Reincarnated, I do. I like Dodger Blue
Uh Blue Uther because I love Drake. When he harmonizes
and he sings sings, I ain't on that tough guy
(01:01:19):
ship when he's when he wants to rip change off
your neck and all kind of I don't like that.
I don't like when he tries to rap, like just
just sing. I like that, but what do you mean
just sing?
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
He sings with sis. Don't you hear him? If you play,
hear him harmonizing and singing with Yeah, you can hear him.
You can hear me.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
He does what do you rap?
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Of course, but he's an artist, so he does both.
He's a pop artist, so he does both.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
We're gonna get roasted.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Listen. Get is what it is anyway, I give it.
I give you Next a four point five five out
of ten. Hm, you know it's cool, it's cool West
Coast album, but I just can't. You're not gonna tell
me peekaboo in my face and I'm just gonna I'm
just gonna listen to that and just be like, oh
my god, bars get out of here with that ship. Anyways,
(01:02:11):
moving along to Doctor Dre. So Doctor Dre was on
what was it? Let me give you the quote I
want to give you. I want to give you the
exact words that doctor Dre says. So Doctor Dre says
he loves Kendrick not like us, and Kendrick had full
support after Drake spoke on his family because I love
that record. I don't want to get negative. My whole
(01:02:33):
thing is that being positive and moving forward. But the
fact that I heard Drake say something about Kendrick's wife
and his kids that made me say, audios, what is
your thoughts on doctor Dre saying he likes not like us?
So who went.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Below the belt first? Was it Drake or was it Kendrick?
They in throwing subliminal at each other first.
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Well, it's funny because we have to stop with this
narrative that Drake started this stuff. Let's stop that narrative
because he didn't. Kendrick started this stuff with subs and
that that bt that bt uh uh freestyle that he had, Yes,
but he did that while ago and then not like
(01:03:22):
not no, not like sorry, like that is what the thing?
That's the song that jumps started all this whole thing.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
No, but the question that's the first song was the
question is who went below the belt?
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Though? In regards push ups, Drake dropped the push ups right,
and then what what he came with? Sixteen six sixteen
in l a Euphoria, Drake dropped family matters, then Meet
the Grahams came, and then not like Us and then
(01:03:58):
the one when he's saying they read the last one?
What is it called? Uh, what's the last one that
Drake did? Part six? Yes, that was the last one.
So I did Drake go below the belt? First? With
I forgot about Taylor made? Taylor made? Was in there
before Taylor made? Then meet the so it was was
(01:04:22):
was did he go below the belt with the family matters?
And then Drake then he came with Meet the Grams?
Didrake go because I think.
Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
I think that was the that was the order he
may have.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Okay, so you want to say, but let's not say
that Drake started this whole thing. Oh, he started it,
and now he's mad that he didn't start.
Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
I feel Doctor D's whole stance was whoever went below
brought the kids in first and the wife in first.
So I guess because Drake did.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
Yeah, right, Unfortunately, what was your thoughts?
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
Whoever went below the belt first? It's like you kind
of asked for it because now you're bringing like family
affairs into it. It was it's just them two going
at it. Okay, that's a part of the game of rap,
you know. But yeah, if he was the one that
said it, then I'm gonna have to bow out because
you're bringing up people's kids, their family like obviously, you know,
(01:05:15):
people don't play about their families.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
So so not like us. It not like us, Drake,
I mean, Kendrick called Drake a pedophile pdf right, yeah,
because you know you like young girls and he put
those dots on his house, right, Okay, Doctor Dre says
(01:05:40):
that he loves that song. So Doctor Dre met Michelle
Michelle right at sixteen years old and he had a
baby with her and he was twenty two.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
But are cutting out where you get going? Where you're going.
Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
I'm just trying to figure out, like, I don't think
you have I don't think that you should even be
speaking on.
Speaker 4 (01:06:15):
This because he did the same thing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
You impregnated a sixteen year old when you were twenty
two years old. You shouldn't even be speaking on nothing
of this song if they asked me that question. And
I'm doctor Ri, I'm gonna say this one out.
Speaker 4 (01:06:30):
Next question please, But he's gonna defend Kendrick though.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Like but then you put then you put guys like us,
We're gonna pull this out. Sit your your goofy ass down.
You you you got a sixteen year old girl pregnant,
my guy.
Speaker 4 (01:06:46):
But all these rappers do it though, Like all these rappers, Yeah,
it's just because they didn't no social media so no
one can check it. There you go, You're for doing
the same thing that you did when you were in
your prime.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
And this is my this is my exact thing. Why
are we picking and choosing? Right? There's there we Drake
has no accusers. All he has is a bunch of
little speculations and here and there, but no where, all
the people coming out, no, no women is coming out.
All of a sudden things are happening TD. You know
they got they gotta they have a case, a weird
case right now. That's happening right now, Like what are
(01:07:23):
we doing here? If I'm doctor Dre, I gotta sit
this one out because I know I'm sitting there like,
oh shit, damn together, I'm going to.
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Call out doctor J about what he did in the nightbody.
They're just gonna be like, yeah, whatever, Drake, Doctor J says.
Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
You know, it's cool, Dre. You gotta you know, you
got a sixty year old pregnant, but it's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
So what most like our time is going to remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
That's gonna be the ogs.
Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
All the heads are going to bring it up and
be like, wait a minute, didn't you do this back
in the day, right, right?
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
So that's just crazy. And this is the thing where
I'm like, let's stop picking and choosing on what we
want to It's like a selective beef, Like no, let's
call out everything and we're gonna do it. Let's just
let's just lead this, right, Drake, he wears the pigtails
in his hair. Yo, he's sassy. Snoop Dog oh yo
(01:08:17):
he o g he a pim, a old school player because.
Speaker 4 (01:08:20):
That's what they did in their environment. So it's like
it's okay for Snoop to do it, right.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
So man, doctor Dre, that that that shit is weird
to me, Like I'm sitting this one out. If I'm
doctor dre. I have nothing to say about that. So
but who am I go ahead and go ahead and
do what you gotta do, man, So it is what
it is. Anyways. Uh we got song of the week?
(01:08:51):
Oh okay, song of the week. Do you want to
introduce the song of the week? You know you are
a guest?
Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
Song of the Week Budge by Smiley Coose Star.
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
I had to ride on all my arms.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
There was moving sick.
Speaker 6 (01:09:07):
How much shots of in this messy love to make it?
Kick it for all the dogs. I'll never do a
Michael veg I give my niggas all the promise. I'm
gonna cheese a six, show my plugs, show me thirty
gizzies in the condo.
Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
This for all the holes that helped me down up
in Toronto.
Speaker 6 (01:09:24):
If we had the parmits doing NFL football numbers? Is
the race so much times I had to fix the
bumper eating mac and cheese for dinner.
Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
I was getting cheese. Made my fiend do the right
out with me. Forty keys here. What do you want?
You should know? I'll give you forty oh man.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
Budge by Smiley, Song of the Week. What you guys
thoughts on the song?
Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Hey man? He's working man, He's working man. Every track
that he comes out with so far that I've heard
getting better and better and right, you know, and got
some bars. You got some bars, man and Budge right here, man,
check that out.
Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Man, I'm not super familiar with him as an artist.
Is my first single hearing from him. But I mean
I'm alwaysupportive of, like any Toronto artists, you know, putting
any type of like work. I know it's hard to
like make a name for yourself. So I would say,
keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Fas fas rock with it, Man, rock with it. Shout
out to his team Grizzy, shout out to Troy Smiley. Man,
keep going man like she said, Man, I rock with it.
Any any shoutouts, that's it for us. Any shoutouts any
ah Man.
Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
February sixth Man hearing Iggy talk all this man on Thursday,
and I mean this Thursday's going down, you know. Yeah,
well she's all day, every day. Man Juniors Seniors. I
said last week we're gonna win by ten minimum. Yeah,
we're going to win by thirteen minimum.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
He doesn't even be confident. He's not confident. Let's go thirteen.
