Speaker 1 (00:02):
Calls media.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Okay, it's complicated, right, everybody's compromised. So right now is
the Dodger parade. Vivar loos Doyers. No self respecting Los
Angeles native does not have some sort of tattoo, picture

(00:29):
hat something.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
With that La Dodgers logo.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
If you are truly from the land, you bleed the
Lakers and have Dodger fever. There are no other teams here.
I said what I said, what about the Angels?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
What about the Angels?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Ask shoey o Atana about the about the about the
about the Angels, what about the Clippers?

Speaker 1 (00:49):
The who what I give you? The Kings?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Though I apologize the Raiders were always borrowed. The Raiders
and Rams are like they're like they're like pieces to me,
like because they are they didn't originate here and they
never stay prop. The Lakers or the Dodgers didn't originate
here either.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
They are our teams.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Okay, And of course there is the Galaxy, LAFC, Angel
City FC and the Sparks, all of which yes, those
are our teams too. Can definitely co sign everybody I
just said there. Anyway, there is At some point the

(01:32):
Dodgers became part of the soil. We just want a
back to back series. I can't believe it.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I tell you what.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
At the bottom of the knife, I was finn to
turn that TV off because I was like, it is over.
But the power of Kendrick, the power of Los Angeles
defeated Toronto once again, continuing the ball stomping. There are
things that we will continue to love and boast about
Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Venezuela, Jackie Robinson, I mean, did

(02:03):
we integrate baseball?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I feel like we integrated baseball.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
There are a lot of things the Dodgers will always
be proud of and will always be a part of us,
our story.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
The team belongs to us.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Having said that the stadium, Schefez Ravine was a neighborhood
of a Latino community that was violently displaced, pulled from
their homes and had their homes destroyed, so that we
can make that stadium and all the way up to today.

(02:36):
The owner of the Dodgers, who just now bought majority
share of the Lakers, has a deep financial tie to
Ice his partners in the GEO group.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
He is the CEO of the Google.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Hind Partners in Global Investment firm, which holds the majority
stake approximately thirty eight percent, a private owned corporation that
operates ice detention centers. He's literally making money off ice raids.
It's complicated, y'all tap in with me. So it gets

(03:27):
real spooky, scary, crazy, scary, spooky hilarious when we start
making our moral stance as to where we where in
what we want to participate in. Okay, I have participated
in the target and Home Depot boycotts for most of
the year, and then my pipes broke. I had a

(03:50):
pipe burst right here outside of my studio. Now I
got other options. I could go to Low's Right, you
could go to Harbor Free right. There are other things
you can do, and to the extent that I can,
I will. However, when I got my home, my mother
just in one of the most loving acts possible, shared

(04:11):
her home Depot credit card with me, and she was like,
this is my gift to you as a congratulations to
you purchasing a home. So whenever I need to fix
stuff at the house, I can use that. Now. Granted
I don't ever abuse it, but I have a Home
Depot credit card. I kind of duck my head every

(04:32):
time I walk in. But can you name me a
hardware store that isn't somehow tied to if you dig
hard enough, tied to something that I deeply disagree with.
Amazon hate it, absolutely hate it. There are ways that

(04:52):
you can use Amazon as a search engine. Having said that,
every time I come home, there's an Amazon package in
front of my door, one of my children, no matter
despite how hard a fight against this, what are you
what are you gonna do? You're gonna what are you
gonna go to Target instead?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Do you know what I'm saying? What do you you know?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
There's the point I'm making is at some point it
becomes just infrastructure. I like, I don't know what to say.
The Olympics are coming here. The Olympics are notoriously horrible
for the local communities. It's gonna be so bad. Having
said that, I can't wait for the track and field.

(05:36):
I mean, the list goes on. Do you do you
listen to college dropout? Because that's the old Kanye I
don't like. I don't know what to say. So the
dialogue around LA right now is how in the world
the same people that was in the streets in droves
protesting ice could go celebrate this team where the own

(06:00):
owner is profiting off of the very same thing. Now,
there's a lot of ways to look at that. Some
people would say keep politics out of baseball. I would
say that's literally impossible. Okay, that's number one. Other people
would say, well, the team belongs to us, it don't
belong to it, don't belong to the owner, to which
you could say it literally belongs to the owner because
he's the owner. I mean, I mean, this guy is

(06:23):
like like he partnered with like pallentteer Technologies and developed
the data analytics for the immigration os of which ICE
use to track immigrants to support to support the deportation efforts,
like a contract worth thirty million dollars. He's literally profiting
off the very people that supports his team. It's complicated,

(06:44):
but I think this tap in is not necessarily about
pointing out the complications of this. What I want to
talk to y'all about is you make your own decision
how you want to handle this. There's a lot of
people in my feed that are like really shaming each other, Like,
you know, it's obviously my feet is cooked, But the

(07:05):
shame of shame on you for not loving your community
enough to boycott the Dodgers. Also, shame on you for
not being able to separate the owner, who's a piece
of shit, from the franchise, which is a part of
our fabric. I take this particular stance, decide on your

(07:26):
own to the degree for which you can sleep at night.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Decide. I don't feel any.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Obligation to correct or confirm or affirm anyone in these
type of situations. The whole systems compromised. Where you're gonna,
you're gonna if you unplug and go live in the woods,
that's still somebody else's land. The problem is, I still
don't believe you should own land anyway, because you ain't

(07:58):
make land, don't belong to the natives if they could,
So like, what land are you standing on? Where you
are going to homestead? It's not possible. So at the
end of the.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Day, I just encourage you.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
You know, we are going to continue to have these
moments where our loves and our allegiances will be tested.
It'll continue to be complicated as the world we.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Live in becomes more and more weird.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
So whether you decide to sit out or to sit
in the nuance and the complications and conflictions of both
cheering and protesting. Whether you can square that circle or not,
it's truly up to you. You're not going to be

(08:52):
judged by me either way, because we both know ice
is a scourge on our communities right now, and also
