Speaker 1 (00:20):
So we have been at the Steel City Convention this
weekend and we have been having a great time.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Right outside of Pittsburgh, right.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Outside of Pittsburgh, Monroe, Monroeville. Yes, yes, And we have
been meeting all kinds of amazing fan ritos and full
house fans and fuller house fans everybody. It's been super fun.
But as you can tell, it is day three and
I am losing my boy.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
We're currently in the car right now on our way
to day three of the convention.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Oh boy.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
So we're like, well, you know, there's a tunnel that's closed.
There a lot of traffic today and detour, so we're like,
what for course podcasts?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah? Why not?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Our producers don't know that we're doing this.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
They have no idea. The best part was is I
looked at you and I went, don't we have to
record something? Did someone say do we have to do
a minisode? I don't know? And she was like, I
don't know, do we And I was like, I feel
like there was mention maybe I'm great? And so I
don't remember. Either we're inventing something that's really great obviously,
(01:22):
or we are just doing what we were supposed to do.
In the first place, and you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
We know, but we're it's it's it's a test. This
is a test. It is a test.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
We're gonna send these voice notes to our editor and
just see if he.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Can make something of it.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, we figured little yeah, sorry, Manny, we figure we
give a quick, little five minute updates. So how how
has your h how's your weekend of convent and Steel
City con?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I didn't know what to expect because this is my
first convention outside of like the nineties con convention, so
it was read I love Pittsburgh. I was very excited
to come here for the first time because my friend
Katie is from Pittsburgh. So that's why I feel like
good fellow blockheads correct, a fellow blockhead and a Yinser.
I feel like an adopted Yinzer because we're always using Yin's.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Hey, yins Yeah you really.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Do you do like that word?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I do love you?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You got so excited to use Yen's.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I've been talking to all the insers about just all
of the what is it permantes?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Right right? You did order one last night? How I said,
got my permantes?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
It was very good.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
It was I got to delivered to the hotel because
I just couldn't walk anymore after a long day. And
so I think the next time, I need to go
to Promantes, okay, because it's probably better fresher.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Oh for sure.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
No, I loved it.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
I got the pistrami and yeah, the fries on top
are great.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm a big fry on a sandwich.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I am a sandwich is key fries in a burrito,
California burido. That's what it's called a California burrito. Put
the fries on. There's hash browns. Well, speaking of potatoes,
we had delicious.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
We had perovis this morning.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
So at our hotel, I had like checked out the
menu downstairs or whatever, and the first thing I noticed
was pork belly and piobis. Because I I was like,
oh my god, that looks so good. But you know,
we get up and leave super early for these conventions,
and but we had a little time this morning, so
I went down by myself.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I was impressed.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I said, I'm down here having some breakfast and I asked,
not even the server, but the lady who seated me
if I could order some port Billion perogie because I
had to leave and I really wanted it. So you
came down, you joined me for breakfast.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
We were ready to early today. So yeah, it was great.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
It was a perfect little breakfast date, just like a
little twenty minute of breakfast date. Yeah, Scott's Matt. I'm
sorry Scott. You know he's got fomo. He went in
the van before. He had to leave earlier than us
for whatever reason. So he's already at the convention and
he is very much has fomo that.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Oh, he very much has fomo that he didn't get
to ride in the car with us today. I'm surprised
he has an offer to come to Cleveland with this.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I think he's debating.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, he's like, oh wait can I I think if
he could change his flight, He's like, you.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
We would, Yeah, yeah, he probably would, But no, we
we have been having some really delicious food adventures. Yeah,
and meanings really fun fans. Has anybody come through your
line like dressed up as gimme?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Oh well yeah, I've got there's so many Gibbler style
shirt right right. The bacon and egg scarf. I brought
my original bacon and egg scarf. Okay, just see, I
just threw it in at the last minute. I wasn't
even gonna bring it.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Bring the bacon and eggs scarf. I can always bring
the bacon and everyone is what.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
I haven't brought it to the last couple of cons,
so you did not.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I thought maybe I brought it to.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Daytona, but you brought it. I feel like you've had
it it every nineties.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
I've had my Kimmy purses. Okay, I'm like, I'm trying
to pack light but one scarf.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Fans are loving it. Kids are coming through with their
own bacon herbs. I'm letting them wear my bacon and
egg scarf. I'm wearing their bacon.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
It's been fantastic.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
So yeah, I know I've had lots of Gibbler style
coming through my lines, how about you.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, there's been the there's been quite a few side
ponies that have made an appearance. Little nineties.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
And you know what's crazy is there have been like
two or three young, younger girls who came through the
line who, out of the corner of my eye, reminded
me of me, oh like, weirdly look like me as
a kid sort of. And then they'd come through the
wine and their mom would be like she gets she
looks like you all the time, and I was like,
oh my gosh, she kind of does little Jodie sweetness. Yeah,
(05:24):
but I mean maybe she's my utter.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Well there's also I've seen several people dressed as I
don't know what. But because this is a convention, this
isn't just like a night, This isn't this is a
nineties This is everything anime. This is like some Walking Dead,
this is horror. Lots of lots of characters walking around. Yeah, cosplay,
cause lots of cosplay. And so even though I don't
(05:49):
know what they're dressed as, that people commit, they commit,
they admit.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yes, I saw a full Ghostbuster yesterday and Dave's line
like the pack and everything.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, dedication so much, especially in this heat and humidity.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
That is dead ship. Ah well, it's been fun.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
We see we talked to the Roseanne girls.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Oh yeah, yeah, Sarah and Lacy.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yes, they were here, so we got to chat with
them a little bit yesterday. I think that's the only like,
oh no, then young Sheldon, Oh yes, Young Sheldon is
here too.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Some of their Reagan and Zoe and I don't know that.
I don't get that.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I'm terrible I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, Sheldon cast but those
are the I think this is the nearly like shows,
like the only like nineties shows.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Oh, look.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Is like here, I hear you gutruggling. Who else is here?
Let's see we've got uh oh we had a couple.
We had we had some some Hobwardians. Oh yeah, yeah,
the guy that played Neville, Matthew Lewis. Matthew Lewis was uh.
I think David Wenham was as well. Yeah, got Andrea
me Dave and Gayton the Street. Yeah, it's so nice.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Oh he was super sweet, so just down to earth
and just like this, like just a dude you want
to go have a beer with.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah, he's fantastic. I mean, if you know, I drank beer.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
But yeah, and then there's some there were some uh
some wrestler people there were Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Mary Louise Parker was there, Mary.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Leise park Oh, Amy Smart, I wanted to I want
to meet Amy Smart, Herker posey but I love her.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I didn't know she was here. I didn't know she
was here either. And her and Busy Bee in Best
in Show. Oh have you ever watched Weston Shoe It's
been one hundred years so one of my favorite movies
is amazing.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
See they want to stagger.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
This isn't this a little I guess because so like
uh stagger the cast Mike Tyson is today only he
was supposed to be yesterday but flight light issues. Yeah yeah,
so I think he's gonna be here. But like John
Barenthal was here. John Barenthal, that guy, I don't. I
don't know what he's on. I'm an idiot line though,
it's so my god, he had a long line. We're
(07:56):
the only two people that apparently don't. Sorry John, No
if Yeah, I saw my friend Jamie King Amy Smart
was here.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I want to meet her. I loved her on Felicity.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
That was my favorite show. No No, Amy Smart? Oh,
Amy Smart.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Hey, I need to get up the courage to say
hello to her. But I don't want to be one
of those people like I left you on Felicity. Why
because that's what like, that's what she's been hearing all day.
I'm sure I left you on Felicity. So you don't
want to go to the green room and have someone
in your face be like I loved you on Felicity.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
I mean, yeah, but not if you do it like
that like, don't don't do it like that, and I
think you might be okay, but you know what I mean, like,
don't go up to her all weird and.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
That's the thing, but I will because I'll get starstruck
and be like I just want I'd be like, hey,
how was your weekend?
Speaker 2 (08:37):
How was your convention?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
What? I don't know? Did you have a PAROHI maybe
I'll ask her something like that instead. Is that less
things that you do with normal humans? I don't know,
small talk, ask her about the weather, aby, ask how
she's are you sweaty? And then okay, maybe I'll go
that approach, act to normal, Oh, act normal? Okay, Well,
I don't see. I think it's hard for me to
a normal I feel pain on that one. But no,
(09:01):
I think I think if you went up and you
were like, I just I loved your you want to listen.
I said that to him to the Stranger things get Gayton,
Oh yeah, I like he would. We were in the
green room and he just kind of we were like
walking by each other or something, and I said, hey,
I just want to say I'm huge fan and like
walking and he was like, oh my god, me too.
Oh that's so what a cute interaction. Oh yeah, I don't. Yeah,
it doesn't need to you don't need I didn't go
up and be like I love you, one's rand you things, although.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I'm going to do that now.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
So I'm in the elevator and it took me a
minute and then it clicked it. I was like, oh,
but I had a normal conversation with him there.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
I was just like, hey, how this your consent?
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Normal seat is possible for you as long as it's
not a new kid.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, I can't talk to the new kids, you know.
I'm I'm I can't. I I'm trying to compose a
text to one of them right now. And I have
my blockhead friends like they're trying to help me draft,
Like I need help drafting this.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
I'm like, does this sound okay?
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Does this sound dumb? If you are close enough to
them that you are text messaging them, No, you don't
have to craft the text message. I do.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
It'll take it. That'll take like twenty four hours. I
gotta sit on it.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Let's sleep a little bit, get my red pan out. Yeah,
I have I overthink I'm an overthinker. No.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, anyways, okay, Well.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Back to back to the con.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Let's not talk about my talk about you and all
of my weird ticks about Wow, I can't talk to
new kids on the block.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Uh yeah, what else done on the con this weekend? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
No, this is a great con. I would leave a
great We had.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
A really great panel. It was packed, did so many
Fanurato's in there, and everyone walked out with like a
bowl on his head and he was one of those
covers click for room service because the where we were
doing the panel is across the street from the convention Center,
and it is it was a it was a hotel.
It is no longer. They just use it sort of
in conjunction. I think it's a use a church uses it,
(10:49):
and then it's also used like in conjunction with the
convention center, but multiple things. Anyway, there are all of
the kitchen things still there. And Dave just happened to
walk by and see one of those silver covers that
you put on a room draving, and he wore it
out on stages I had and he looked like he
looked like the tin man from the Whizz So that's yeah,
(11:09):
so on Brandon for Dave, Yeah, he looks great. I
mean he does. He looks great. It was so wonderful
to be with him. And that was really great. He's
doing so great. And you know, he said he's got
some of.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
The fatigue and all that, but like thee and the fatigue.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
But he said he's doing really really well. He looked great.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
He looks fantastic. Yeah, yeah, I was a little word.
I'm like, oh, I haven't seen him since he went
through chemo. I didn't know if he I don't know,
but he looks fantastic and it's great.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
And he said he's feeling really good. And yeah, it was.
It was lovely to get to spend some time with him.
My no, because you know, with him living in Michigan,
we don't get to see him as much. So yeah,
this was really nice. And yeah, Scott was here and
he was just gotting all over the place, got like
a little Bob. He's like a little Bob, his little bob.
He yeah, Bob left and Scott took over as a virus. Yes,
(12:00):
our neurotic family member that we love. We do love him.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
And Candace was here too. It was great to see her.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
It's been in a hot minute since and she was
with the coal or awesome hair makeup person on the
East Coast here that has come with us to a
bunch of pms.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
We had a great dinner the first night. We went
out for steak at eddingmer Low and it was wonderful.
You and I got the same thing. The trio of
medallions and the peppercorn was really you you need some
right now that'll like help your signs, right, yeah, clevering,
but let's see what. Yeah, I think that's such a
good little, good little recap. Loved meeting the fans on
(12:36):
in this side of the world, and yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
It's been really fun.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
We met people from West Virginia and Ohio. I didn't
realize those states were so close my East Coast geography
I could use, I could is a big state. It's
really big.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, yeah, so it was kind of like we're on
the eastern seaboard to like, uh, the Great Lakes. Yeah, no,
I didn't realize it was quite so big.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
And people drove far.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Some Toronto, we had some jam, we had some Canadians
the Toronto and coffee.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yes balls x oh was that the name of it? Okay,
So the reason she brought it, oh, was because when
I was in Canada. I saw that brand of coffee
and I thought it was hilarious. B A l z
a Q balls, balls a ballbles balls balls ac and
so I took a picture of it and I posted
it on my on my Instagram, and I was like, oh,
(13:27):
this is great coffee. And so she was like, I
saw your Instagram post from like a year ago when
you posted it. So I brought you some balls that coffee,
oh from Canada, and it's actually delicious coffee and it's
got little Canadian flags over it.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I love it. That was That's so funny. I did
I know it was a sweet gesture, but I didn't
know the story behind it.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
So the reason is me and being an idiot. So
that's so great. All right, well, fan of Rados, this
was great.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
This is a good little yeah, thirteen fourteen minute minnie.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
So they don't want to listen to us any longer
than that, Well, I don't think I will have a
voice very much more hatematic. Save it for the con
I'm like becoming a brief abused boy.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Your voice is Shane and congratulations, all congratulations.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Shame was a sorry it was a coffee that was
just saying the name of the coffee. I dropped it.
That's all and we're done. Thanks for joining us, Fannery,
see your nick time
