Speaker 1 (00:16):
Today we're diving into the horrifying case of thirty one
year old Courtney Cox, who was shot and killed right
inside her own Midtown Atlanta apartment on October twenty first,
twenty twenty one. The thriving professional woman worked as a
lawyer at an Atlanta law firm, and according to reports,

(00:41):
she knew her killer. The whole ordeal sparked fear throughout
the entire complex, so much so that the management had
to release an order for residents to stay inside their
apartments while police secure at the scene and investigated. In

(01:05):
the early morning, just around four am, authorities responded to
reports of shots fired at Atlantic House Midtown. The shooting
had reportedly begun some time around three am. It wouldn't
be until the end of an hour's long standoff that

(01:26):
police would finally know the person responsible for erupting such chaos.
The person was a man by the name of Jarvis Jarrett.
According to authorities, there was no forced entry or anything
like that, and as it turns out, Courtney and thirty

(01:48):
one year old Jarrett had began a relationship during the summer.
That night, as soon as first responders arrived on scene,
they were hailed with bullets. Jarrett began shooting from the
twenty first floor of the apartment building, which is located
on West Peach Street Street. It was almost like a

(02:11):
scene out of a movie, but unfortunately this was real life.
One witness even says she saw the suspect on a
balcony at one point. In the end, police were able
to use drone footage to finally engage with Jarrett before

(02:32):
he was shot. Now it's unclear if he was shot
and killed by police or if he had pulled the
trigger himself. Law enforcement found Courtney's body inside the apartment
while recovering Jared's from outside on the balcony. If you,
