true crime podcast. I'm your host Hunter, and today we're
discussing a chilling case that continues to haunt the city
of Detroit. A young woman's promise for the future gone

without a trace. What started as a night out has
turned into a year's long mystery that remains unsolved till
this day. This is the story of Danielle Elise Adams.
May twentieth, twenty sixteen. Just an ordinary evening, or so

(00:49):
it seemed. Twenty one year old Danielle had spent the
day with her friend at her home located on Stopel
Street in Detroit. As night fell, Danielle made the decision
to go out. She had plans to grab a drink,
but after that night, she would never be seen again.

The next day came and went, but there was still
no word from Danielle. Her phone went unanswered, her social
media was silent. Her family began to worry. They knew
something was wrong. Danielle's mother, Sharon Collins, grew frantic as

(01:32):
the time passed by. Danielle, always active online, always in
touch had gone completely silent. A few days turned into
a week, and Sharon knew in her gut something wasn't right.
On May twenty third, Danielle's family made the decision to

(01:53):
report her missing. Then came a shocking discovery in the investigation.
Danielle's name appeared in an ad on backpage dot com,
a clue that raised suspicions and questions for her mother, Sharon.
The thought was horrifying, but there was some relief in it.

(02:17):
If Danielle had gotten caught up in this, maybe she
was still alive. But what had happened that night? Where
had Danielle gone, and who could have taken her? At
just twenty one, Danielle had her whole life ahead of her.
Born in Detroit, she had been adopted at age eleven

(02:40):
and was living with her mother at the time of
her disappearance. Though she had run away in the past
during her adolescence, it was nothing like this. This wasn't
a rebellious teenage escape. Danielle had been disconnected from everyone,
her family, her friends, even her social media. The Detroit

(03:05):
Police Department jumped into the investigation, looking for any signs,
any clues that might lead them to Danielle, but as
the days passed, there were no new leads and no breakthroughs.
They come through her phone records, they checked her social
media accounts, hoping for some hint, some trace of where

(03:28):
she might be, But each time they thought they were close,
they hit another dead end. It was as if Danielle
had vanished into thin air. Danielle's mother refused to believe
the worst. She's clung to the hope that Danielle was
out there somewhere, that she could still be found. She

(03:52):
believed someone might have taken Danielle, maybe even possibly a
situation involving sex trafficking. As time has gone by, it
has been hard to stay hopeful, but Danielle's mother has
refused to give up. Pope. She knew her daughter, and
she knew Danielle wouldn't have left on her own without

(04:15):
a trace. At the time of her disappearance, Danielle stood
four feet ten inches tall, weighing around one hundred and
twenty pounds, with long, curly black hair and hazel eyes.
She had several tattoos, including Shelley on her right bicep
and a Yin yang symbol on her left arm. The

(04:36):
silence into Danielle's disappearance has only left room for questions
and speculation. Could she have been trafficked, was she being
held against her will? Or did she meet a more
tragic fate. Despite the heartbreak and uncertainty, Danielle's family refuses

(04:56):
to stop searching for her. They continue to hold onto
the hope that one day the truth will be revealed.
Daniel's case continues to remain unsolved. My thoughts and prayers
are with her family, and I hope one day someone
is able to provide them with the answers they deserve.
