Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hunting for Answers is a production of the Black Effect
Podcast Network and iHeartRadio. Welcome to Hunting for Answers, a
true crime podcast. I'm your host Hunter, and today we're
discussing a case that took place in Racine, Wisconsin, in
March twenty twenty three. It began when a forty five
(00:21):
year old woman left her mother's home on a Sunday
night to celebrate her upcoming forty sixth birthday. She was
excited about the milestone and planned to enjoy her special day,
but March twenty sixth, twenty twenty three would be the
last time anyone would see her alive. Nearly two years later,
(00:43):
her family continues to search for answers in a case
that has baffled investigators and left a family broken. This
is the story of Lishiki Hill. Li Shiki and Quinette
Hill was born in nineteen seventy seven, the oldest of
(01:05):
three children raised by her mother, Georgia and Racing, Wisconsin.
Those who knew her described her as a loving daughter
and sister who maintained close ties with her family. Lishiki
and Quinette Hill was born in nineteen seventy seven, the
(01:25):
oldest of three children raised by her mother, Georgia and Racing, Wisconsin.
Those who knew her described her as a loving daughter
and sister who maintained close ties with her family. At
the time of her disappearance, Lishiki was forty five years old.
She stood five feet one inch tall and weighed one
(01:46):
hundred and sixty eight pounds. She had built a life
in the city she grew up in, staying connected to
her roots and to the community that raised her. But
on March twenty sixth, twenty twenty three, just one day
before her forty sixth birthday, Li Shiki's story would take
(02:08):
a devastating turn. Sunday, March twenty six, twenty twenty three,
it was a quiet evening in Racine, Wisconsin. Lishiki had
spent time at her mother's home discussing plans for her
upcoming birthday celebration. As the evening progressed, she decided to
(02:29):
go out and to start celebrating early. Around ten PM,
Lashiki was last seen in the thirteen hundred block of
Douglas Avenue. She was wearing tight fitted white pants and
carrying a black purse with full details. She appeared to
be in good spirits, ready to enjoy her special weekend,
(02:50):
but that would be the last confirmed sighting of Lishiki Hill.
March twenty seventh came and went, Laschiki's forty six birthday
past without celebration. When family members didn't hear from her
the next day, concern began to settle in. Lashiki wasn't
(03:12):
the type to disappear without warning, especially not on her birthday.
On March twenty eighth, two days after she was last seen,
relatives reported Lashiki missing to the Racine Police Department. Which
should have been a joyous birthday celebration had quickly turned
(03:33):
into a family's worst nightmare. The search for Lashiki Hill
had officially begun. The Racing Police Department launched an extensive
investigation into Lashiki's disappearance. Detectives conducted dozens of interviews with
her friends, family members, and associates, searching for any clue
(03:56):
about what happened that night. Investigators collect did surveillance video
from multiple locations across the city, hoping to trace Lishiki's
movements after she left the Douglasville Avenue area. They searched
abandoned buildings and properties throughout Racine, executed search warrants, and
(04:17):
followed up on numerous tips from the community, but despite
their efforts, Lishiki remained missing. One year after Lashiki's disappearance,
her case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified
(04:39):
Person System known as NamUs. The milestone served as a
grim reminder that twelve months had already passed without answers
for Liashiki's family. Each day brought the same agonizing questions,
where is she, what happened that night, and is she
(05:02):
still alive? Her mother, Georgia, spoke to the media, expressing
the pain that only a parent in her situation could understand.
Somebody knows something, she said, pleading for anyone with information
to come forward. September thirteenth, twenty twenty four, it brought
(05:25):
a moment of hope and heartbreak. Acting on an anonymous tip,
the Racing Police Department responded to a home on Jackson
Street to search for the remains of Lashiki Hill. The
tip had suggested that Lishiki's body might be located at
the property. Investigators arrived with hope that they might finally
(05:48):
have answers for the Hill family. The search was thorough
and methodical, with officers examining every inch of the premises,
but after hours searching investigators did not find any human remains.
The glimmer of hope turned to disappointment, and the family
(06:11):
was left with even more questions than answers. For Lashiki's family,
the emotional toll of her disappearance continues to grow with
each passing day. Relatives have expressed the unbearable nature of
not knowing what happened to their loved one. Georgia Hill,
(06:32):
Lishiki's mother, and her family continued to fight for answers,
refusing to let her daughter's case fade into silence. Lishiki's case,
while receiving some local attention, hasn't generated the national headlines
that similar cases involving white women might attract. Yet for
(06:55):
her family, Lishiki's life was just as valuable, her disappears
parants just as tragic, and the need for answers is
just as urgent. Authorities have assured the community that the
investigation remains active. We will not stop until she is
brought home, Racing Police Department Lieutenant Sarah Zupkey said, emphasizing
(07:22):
the department's commitment to finding answers in this case. The
case remains open, with investigators continuing to follow up on
any tips and leads they encourage anyone with information about
Lashiki's disappearance to contact the Racing Police Department Investigations Unit
