Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hunting for Answers is a production of the Black Effect
Podcast Network and iHeartRadio. Welcome back to Hunting for Answers,
a true crime podcast. I'm your host Hunter, and today
we're diving into a case that started with a simple
plan to buy a car and ended with a mysterious disappearance.
(00:22):
A young mother from Baton Rooms, Louisiana set out on
an ordinary errand and was never seen again. No goodbyes,
no trace, no anything. Fifteen years later, questions still echo
just as loudly as the day she vanished. This is
(00:44):
the story of Tamika Anderson. February twenty third, twenty ten.
It was a typical morning, just like any other, But
for twenty five year old Tamika, known to her friends
and family as Keisha, it was a day full of promise.
She was a mother on a mission, determined to buy
(01:06):
a car that would make life a little easier for
her and her two young sons. Her first stop the
ATM at the Telco Federal Credit Union on Telco Boulevard.
She withdrew one thousand dollars in cash, money that would
never be seen again. It was also the last verified
(01:28):
sighting of Tamita from there. She was supposed to meet
a man in Galvez, Louisiana, to buy the vehicle, but
she wasn't going alone. An acquaintance was reportedly making the
trip with her, though this person's identity was never made public.
As she drove toward Galvez, she was in contact with
(01:51):
several people talking on the phone as she made her
way to what should have been a routine transaction. But
Tamika never bought the car, and she never returned home
that day. Calls to her phone went unanswered. Hours turned
into days, and her family's worst fears began to materialize.
(02:16):
The alarm bells went off almost immediately. Though Tamika was
more than just a name and a missing person's report.
She was a devoted mother, a loving sister, and a
woman who always made sure her family knew where she was.
She would never just leave her two young sons behind.
(02:36):
Her oldest was just eleven years old when she vanished.
Now he would be around twenty six years old. But
Tamika didn't just vanish. She left everything behind, her clothes,
her cell phone charger, her whole world. It's as if
time stopped for her loved ones the moment she never
(02:58):
returned home, the question started to pile up, each one
more haunting than the last. Who was the man selling
the car, where's the thousand dollars she withdrew, who was
she talking to on the phone during the final drive,
and what did they discuss? Her disappearance left a trail
(03:22):
of heartbreak and frustration, little evidence, even fewer leads. For
fifteen years, her family has fought to keep her story alive,
hoping that someone somewhere holds the key to solving this mystery.
But holding on to hope can be fleeting. According to
(03:43):
Tamika's aunt, her sons have felt as if no one
has cared to even find their mother. Other loved ones
feel as if someone out there knows what happened to
Tamika but just won't come forward. So what happened that
day in Calvez? Was ta Meek a lord into a trap?
(04:06):
Did she encounter someone with ill intentions on the way,
or was the transaction itself a setup? Her aunt believes
it was exactly bad a setup. According to her, The
acquaintance who accompanied Tamika knew she had received her income
(04:26):
tax money and even knew exactly how much. At the
time of her disappearance. Tamika was five to one, between
one hundred and fifty and one hundred and sixty five pounds,
with black hair, hazel eyes, and distinctive tattoos including flowers
on her arm, stars on her neck, and a portrait
of her mother. Tamika was just twenty five years old
(04:50):
when she vanished. Today she would be forty years old.
Anyone with information of about the disappearance of Tamika Anderson
is urged to contact the Baton Rouge Police Department at
