true crime podcast. I'm your host Hunter, and today's story
takes us to Georgia into the heart of a mystery
that has stunned the medical community and left behind more
questions than answers. She was an intelligent young woman who

was tragically cut short just weeks before her dreams were
about to come true. This is the story of doctor
Diamond Clark. Doctor Diamond Catherine Clark was only twenty eight

years old when her life came to a tragic end,
but in those short years she had built a legacy
of compassion, brilliance and community service. Born and raised in Albany, Georgia,
doctor Clark's dream was always to serve others. She was
a graduate of Morehouse School of Medicine, one of the

top HPCs in the country, and had recently matched at
Atrium Health Novisent and Macon, Georgia to begin her residency
in family medicine. Her first day was set in July
twenty twenty four.

Her as driven, kind, and deeply committed to making a
difference in underserved communities. She volunteered at the Heel Clinic
and helped launch the Lifestyle Medicine interest Group at Morehouse.
She'd been honored with both the twenty twenty three Excellence
and Public Health Award and the Ta Sappingon MDEP Award

from the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. Her future was bright,
but on May twenty twenty four, everything changed. According to
Least records, the last time anyone saw doctor Clark was
on the evening of May twenty eighth.

her boyfriend.

After that, she left and was never seen again.

Sometime between five and five thirty pm, her phone sent
out a crash alert.

That alert immediately raising red flags.

Her loved ones tried to reach her, but the callsman unanswered.
The next day, her car was found abandoned. Her phone
was discovered later in her driveway, but doctor Clark herself
was nowhere to be found. On May twenty ninth, seargers

made a grim discovery in a wooded area of like
theing the Georgia just a short distance from where she lived.
Doctor Diamond Clark's body she had suffered a gunshot wound
to the head. There were no signs of a struggle,
no obvious clues, so authorities were quick to consider it

a possible suicide, but her family, they.

Weren't so sure.

Doctor Clark's family immediately pushed back on that theory that
she had taken.

Her own life.

According to those who knew her best, doctor Clark had
everything to live for. She was weeks away from starting
her residency. She was passionate, focused, and full of energy.
Her mother and sister questioned how a young woman so accomplished,
so close to her goals, could suddenly end her life

without warning, without a note, without so much as a
hint that something may be wrong. And then there was
the argument with her boyfriend she alert from her phone,
the location of her car, and her phone being left behind.
To them, nothing added up as investigator search for answers.

They did look into her boyfriend and bring him in
for questioning, but no charges were filed, and to this day,
no one has been officially named a suspect. The news
of doctor Diamond Clark's death sent shockwaves through the medical community.
In a public statement, her colleagues at the Georgia Academy
(04:34):
of Family Physicians wrote, doctor Clark had a spirit of
service and excellence. Her commitment to health equity was inspiring.
She will deeply be missed. Loved ones held a celebration
of life on June eighth, twenty twenty four, at Mount
Zion Baptist Church in her hometown of Albany.

How could a woman who had worked so hard and
done so much good in the community end up like this.
As of now, the Dakab County Police Department says the
case is open and ongoing, but they have yet to
release any significant updates. My thoughts and prayers are with

doctor Diamond Clark's family and friends as they continue to
fight for the truth.

Her family is currently pushing for a full, transparent investigation.
