as someone who put others before herself, a pillar of

On the evening of August six, twenty twenty five, Krishonda
was walking through Cincinnati's Over the Rhine neighborhood, a simple

act that would change everything. It was just after nine
pm when Krishonda was walking along Republic Street near Green Street,
one of the area's main roads. Over the Rhine is
one of Cincinnati's most historic neighborhoods, a place that has
seen both neighborhood revitalization and ongoing struggles with crime. For Krishanda,

it was a simple path she was taking that evening,
unaware that danger was approaching. As she walked, a car
began moving slowly down the street. Inside that vehicle was
someone with deadly intentions, someone whose actions would forever change
the lives of Kashonda's family. What happened next unfolded in

a matter of seconds, but the horror of those moments
would echo for time to come. As Krishanda walked on
that street, a gunman inside the car passing by opened fire.
The shooting was sudden and devastating. The gunman fired at
least fifteen bullets. The sound of the gunfire rippled through
