Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in again.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Let's guess you Gilmore Girls Gazette with Amy Sugarman and
Danielle Romo, an iHeart radio podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Okay, this is a special episode of The Gilmore Girls Gazette.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Oh my gosh, this might be our last episode before
Daniel's back. I think, no, we probably have one more.
I think we have one more before Danielle gets back.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
This is a special episode which I've been talking about,
and we're a little close to Christmas, so we it
is Christmas. Oh, it's Christmas Day today, so we take
this a little bit before. So here's the thing in true,
you know, I am all in style. We're always a
little haphazard, so we're doing our best. But here are
(00:59):
the gift ideas that I suggest for Christmas. Now I
understand that it is Christmas, so make these your Valentine's gift,
or make these your New Year's gifts, or.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Make it for the person that you forgot to get
a gift for that is a huge Gilmore Girls fan.
So this is my curated list.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I tried to be like different, Like I didn't just
go to the merch store and buy stuff because that's
like obvious. Go to the Warner Brothers merch Store. Every
single thing is amazing. This is like me trying to
be a.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Little bit clever.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
So first I think I got this on Amazon. I'm
pretty sure I did. This is the gilmart Girls twenty
twenty six day Planner, and I being old like to
write stuff down still like I don't. I don't put
everything in my phone like you all do. So this
one here's the things I love. Lots of notes, pages,
lots of places to write goals.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
And things you've got to do.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
The only critique I have is the calendar part is
like a little bit tiny.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
For me, like the weak part. So this will have
to be like just for like.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Events that I have that I have to get it,
not for like all my meetings. But this I'm going
to give like a nine out of ten.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I love this. I already started using it. I love
a planner.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Here's my gift for the Gilmourt Girls fan in your life.
And I think I got this from Hallmark Napkins.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Look at that.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
These are amazing, So they're not. They're like the ones
I got, and I don't know if they have other sizes.
I think these are also at the Warner Brothers store.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
They're like, oh no, I froze. You did really exciting.
Oh cute.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Okay, So these are the napkins like you know that
you put them in your bathroom, like your gifts napkins
or like dinner napkins. And they have everything. They have lukes,
they have the dragonfly, they have chilten, and they have
the gazebo.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
They have everything. I got like ten of these. They're
not expensive, and I think a great gift is just
like these with some chocolates is a great gift.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
One of my friends the best housewarming gift, not housewarming
or housewarming or like if you stay at someone's house,
a thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Gift paper towels, toilet paper.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Napkins, because like how many times a you're like, I'm
out of paper towels.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
So she taught me that many years ago. So this
is from pacsun Now, I wanted to do something different.
I was thinking like a Yale sweatshirt. But I did
the cropped Yale sweater sun.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
It wasn't expensive. I did it oversized because cropped.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
For me, I'm like, I don't need to be doing
tight and cropped. But you guys could do you guys
could do cropped.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
And I mean, I love a layer wearing a white
shintar unmeath. That is great Yale.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
But they have Yale sweatshirts everywhere. Then of course I
think a great gift. And this is not I did
not invent this. Everyone's been doing this. This is the Rory,
the Rory sweater, you know, the white sweater that she wears.
I think it's in the first episode. The brand I
did it is called elfrick Eden. I'd never heard of
it before, but I've never heard of that. I searched
and searched the Rory sweater and this was the one
(03:53):
I came up with.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's big, right, like I think the one.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
She wears is oversized also, So I'm going to bring
this to you guys, because that one's like oversized.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Okay, really cute. I love cable Net. I think I
have two more to go. I think I have two
more to go. I'm working on this for a while. Okay,
So we went back.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
And did We did this last year, but I did
it again this year, and I think they might even
have new ones. So this is the Stony Clover. So
Stony Clover is this company and they have like lots
of collapse. So this is their Gilmore one. But they
I also noticed they had a super cute, clueless one.
So this is and it comes like you basically don't
even have to wrap it. It comes in this cute
(04:31):
sort of cellophaney bag with like cellophane tissue paper.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
It is adorable. So this is the one.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Obviously, because I love Matt, we did the Life and
Death Brigade one's makeup so cute now not cheap. I'm
not gonna lie like this one's a little bit more spendy.
And then I did the big one that has Doci's market,
Al's Pancake World.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
It has a bunch of other things of course, Luke's
very cute, good quality.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yes, it's so nice, like all you like. This is
if you want to spend a little bit more, do
one thing for.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
The Gilmore fan. Now, this is the piece to resistance.
I found it. I don't know how I found it.
I spent a I mean it is so soft. So
this is from a company called Height, and I think
it's kyte. You guys might want to look at up.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
This is the Gilmore Girls blanket. And this is not
This is not your average blanket. Like, this is not
the I don't know how to explain it.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
This is not this is not a cheap blanket.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
This is like an amazing soft, incredible quilted. This was
expensive too, but I think worth it for like that.
You know, it's like the one gift and it has
Luke and Gilmore Girls, and it has paul Anka, and
it has the gazebo and it has the stars hollow sign.
It is really, really, really a cool blanket. I think
(06:00):
that's kite kyte. So that is our Christmas gift guide
for you guys for next year.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Or next year's gifts. Just like dear, I'm in calendars
tomorrow for Christmas. Yeah, And like sometimes, you know, you
forget people.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
One tradition that I think a lot of people have
obviously in the fall and winter as they watch Gilmour Girls,
I meet so many people that are like, I just
have it on all the time. I just let it
kind of roll while I'm around the house. I have
started to do the Yule log. Do you guys know
what that is?
Speaker 1 (06:44):
No? Oh my god, I'm so happy you don't know
what it is. Okay, So many many.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Years ago I learned what a yule log is because
I work at a TV station also in addition to
do anyse podcasts, and we don't work on Christmas because
they put the yule log on. So I was like,
what's a yule log. It's basically on the TV when
it looks like a fireplace.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Oh yeah, this is what I love.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
So we love Warner Brothers. But we're gonna talk about
Disney for a second. Disney is iconic with their eulogus.
They have a Jonas Brother's yulog right now, but it's
so good. I think it's an hour long. I wish
they were longer because then they time out. But it
basically is like for a very Jonas Christmas and it's like,
(07:27):
you know, it shows the tree in the fire, but
the thing is through the hour or hour two hours
that it rolls. The Jonas Brothers kind of pop in
and out. And the same thing with the Frozen eulog.
I can't remember. That's not the exact name of it.
I think it's called like Aarondale or wherever elsa and
on a live and it has little things or olof
pops out you can do. There's so many eulogs on
(07:48):
like Euroku or whatever streaming you use.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
That is so clever. Oh, they're so good and they have.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Music so like you can just pop on your TV
put the eugolog on, like if you if it's the
Jonas Brothers. I think I was like the Jonas Brothers
Christmas music, and you know, the Amazon Prime has one
that goes like a couple hours and you can just
pop it on, so it looks like a fireplace. Speaking
of the Jonas Brothers, they were in my dream last night.
Joe is in my dream, Like, oh, I don't know
(08:15):
why all the time so much, not not like it's
not like that kind of dream.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Yeah, but it's just like there. I don't I don't.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I can't even explain what we're doing. I think they're
on my mind sometimes. We also did rewatch it Very
Jonas Christmas with my nieces.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
I need to watch that. I haven't watched that either,
you guys, it's so cute.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
My nieces were like hesitant to watch it, and then
they were like, actually, this is really good.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
This is really really good.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
You know, it's hilarious, Like if you watch it twice,
there's so many jokes I missed because they like totally
make fun of themselves and each other in it.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Like at one point, it's just a sudden thing.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Where Joe's like I should have done that Delta ad
and then Nick or Kevin's like you turned down an
ad and he's like what, and they're like, you do everything.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
So it's just like.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
All these jokes and kJ Appa is so like classic
as this pilot, Like it's so you're just in on
the joke. It's so funny.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
I'm going to watch it for work after this. Well, God,
it's so good. What is your other traditional Like, is
there a movie? I know you said?
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Uh, I don't remember who was in this episode or
a different episode for Christmases? I'm not I'm not into
that one, but oh, I always like it.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
ELF is so good.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I love actually yeah, and a lot of people have
a holiday. I've never even seen that.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I know. I would see it the first time it
was like last year, and I wondered why I hadn't
seen it earlier. It's I don't want to be like
a fuddy duddy Halloween for me. I watch all the
horror movies. I love it. I love that time of year.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I love when like the you know, like t and
t or whatever us say, is just like showing horror
movies back to back.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Christmas movies I'm not as into.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
I used to it as my time to catch up
on all the shows that I've been meaning to catch
up on.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
My family does have.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
A Christmas movie, but we're obsessed with this one Saturday
Night live video skit. We watch it every Christmas.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
It's like the one.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
I don't know what it's called, but it's like the
mom it's, oh my gosh, I gotta find the name
of it, and the dog gets like a robe because
it's what the mom got. And we literally watch it
every Christmas even, and we're all obsessed with it, like
we think it's so funny.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
I'm finding it right now.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yeah, it's called Christmas Morning. It's from twenty twenty. It
has like Kristin Wig Chloe Fine then and.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
What are they doing so funny?
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Basically they're like going through what everyone got, and then
the mom is just like.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
The mocking got like nothing, yeah, and then like they're like, oh,
and there's another gift, but it's for the dog.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
I don't know why, but my family always thinks. I
think it's the funniest thing ever see everyone needs to
go watch it.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
There's a funny one too, and I can't remember who's
in it for some reason. I want to say Colin
Jose is in it, but he doesn't really do sketches
where Santa's coming. And this couple just is like Santa Santa.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
It's Ryan Gosling.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
It is so funny.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Of course, I confused Ryan Gosling with Colin Jos. Do
you know that?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I think Colin just like shout out to Scarlett Johansson
because you know that, I think Colin Jos is like
the most handsome person.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
I'm like, what is Colin Jost Like? People are probably like, ooh.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Colin Jos got Scarlet Johansson, but I'm like, no, Scarlet
Johansson is so stoked she got Colin Jos totally like totally.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah, so handsome. What am I watching? Though?
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Here's my recommendations. This is a listen if you want
to a moment Fallout. I'm gonna watch fall Out season two.
I'm watching Hijack with Idris is interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
James Bond.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I'm very confused by that, so I'm gonna have to
do deep dive on that. What else is on my list?
I want to catch up on Shrinking. Yeah, I love Shrinking,
but it's a little bit like I gotta take breaks
from it because if I watch too many row I'm like,
it's kind of the same.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
It's like one of.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Those Yeah, but it's very good. I'll have a more
of a deep list in January for Listen if you
want To, because that is everything that Listen if you
want to is it's just like what we're watching on Davie.
I loved Danielle's idea which one write in if you
want to?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Oh, yeah, right in if you want to.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
And also I'm gonna there's a couple of als in
mac podcast episodes I miss Oh I know, and I'm listening.
Part of Listen if you want To will be uh
audible books like the Michael J.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Fox one that I love. I'm listening to.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
I think it's called the I have to get the title.
It's the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale. I want to
say it's called The Tempest, but that feels the uh
sequel to You'd think that I would know the title
The Testaments.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
I'm so close. I said Tenant or the Testaments, and
it's very good.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Margaret Atwood is sort of one of the voices, and
then aunt Lydia is one of the voices.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
And then.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Uh, don't give me the name. It's Ron Howard's daughter.
Do not give me the name.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Dallas Bryce, Dallas Howard. It's so good. I'm really hooked
into that. So that's very good. So listen if you
want to.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Oh my gosh, wait, Shelby, what's on? Shelby's got that
trendy sweatshirt that everyone's wearing.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Oh the park, Yes, Cec, where's that too? I love it.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
It's so cozy. I used to like the obsessed with them,
and then I said I have to stop buying.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Them with the mock turtlenecks. CEC talks about.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, and this one's inside out, so it's like two,
which is cool.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
No way, it's like reversible.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Yeah, it's they did a collab with that brand set Active.
It's like a workout brand, and so it's like reversible.
So it's two sweatshirts and watchardson what which obviously love cuts,
your double's your money.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, that's some girl math right there for sure. Girl mask.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
