Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in again.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh let's kiss you, Yill Moore.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Girls Gazette with Amy Sugarman and Danielle Romo, an iHeartRadio podcast.
It's it's time for getting what Girls Gazette. Can we
start off with just an honorable mention before we get
into something.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I know we have nice sad we have a few
sad stories to do. We do happy stories and sad stories.
So yes, you tell what you want to start with.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
The first thing, I'm just you know, I'm gonna give
ed Herman a little birthday shout out earlier this week.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It was his.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Birthday July twenty first, July twenty first, and he would
have been eighty two. We love you, we miss you,
your iconic.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yeah. That's a sad one and I'm gonna I'm gonna
talk about one more sad one. And this does have
a Gilmergirl's connection, and it really was. It's a really
sad story. So The Resident incidentally is leaving to Netflix
in September, so I'll just say that. But on The Resident,
I think starting in season two maybe three of the Resident,

(01:17):
Malcolm Jamal Warner joined the cast and he was really
really good on that show, really good and he was
really good recently on nine one one. He's done a
million things since The Cosby Show, right, but we all
my age know the Cosby Show, and he tragically died
drowning in Costa Rica. The story was so jarring and upsetting.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, yes, I don't I don't know what's up with
the summer, but this is not the first drowning incidence
that I've heard of full summer.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I feel like I get it, everyone's in the water.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
But it's so sad and really heartbreaking, and I just
I'm for his family.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
This is so awful and Okay, so here's my question,
and I think this is why it impacted so many people.
I don't know about your age, but my age, the
what year were you born? Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Nine death nineteen ninety, So, like the Cosby Show.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Was not really like you're a little bit young for it.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I am a little bit young, but it was airing
while I was like a young.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Kid runs or whatever. But yeah, that show and look unfortunate.
But we'll move on from that. Just to talk about
the show. It was so good and even now it
holds up, like when I go watch clips or episodes,
it is still so funny. And so good, and Malcolm

(02:47):
Jamal Warner was theo Huxtable and like he was so
good even at such a young age. So I think
that's why so many people were like because it was
like we grew up that was Cosby Show, Family Ties.
I think the night like Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers.
Maybe then it went to like Hill Street Blues. It
was like crazy, how good the shows were that back then,

(03:08):
And like you watched it live, you know what I mean,
Like nobody there's a streaming. People barely had VCRs, like
you just watched everything in real time. So that was
just very sad. Now I will switch to things that
are happier.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
So we want to stick to the Resident story and
that it's leaving Netflix.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah, so I mentioned that, oh god.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I'm ordering freaking hot dogs.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
We'll tell everybody what you're doing. So we have a
lot of jobs, guys, and I think it's important you
know this. We have a lot of jobs. So occasionally
we record this early in the morning so that we
get it out to you in real time. Good, but
dan Emielle had to order Pink's hot dogs right at
nine thirty three hot dog eating contest. We have to
do it to day and so she's trying so hard

(03:55):
to order the hot dogs while talking.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You know, fine, order the hot dogs.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I will handle. But Gilmore Girls. So even though the
residents leaving Netflix, Gilmore Girls is coming to the Hallmark channel,
which I think is like such a perfect fit starting
October to October part in me August twenty fifth, they'll
beat episodes airing on the weekdays and the weekends. And
I'm gonna say this. The Hallmark store, now I don't

(04:20):
have one near me, so I just go online, has
so many good Gilmore Girls.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Oh, it's insane, like it is so good.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
There must be a bigger picture Gilmore Girls Hallmark situation
because their items are real good. And we will get
to that and I can't. I'm sort of excited for
Christmas for our you know, holiday mustas Gilmore Girls style,
all right. So in a somewhat of a connection, so

(04:49):
we all know, Adam Brody got nominated for the Emmy,
Kristen Bell got nominated for the Emmy. Dak Shepherd was
on Parenthood, which is our show we're watching that you
can tune into. Posted a picture of Kristen Bell naked
but wearing socks.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Oh, my god, that was.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I thought it was so funny.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Not sure why, but check it out for yourselves. A
lot of Chad Michael Murray news.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Right now, Yes, because he's done, because a freak your
Friday and I need.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Well and Sullivan's Crossing is like doing huge on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
I'm just gonna let you know anytime I'm on Netflix
that pops up.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
So he's like huge on Netflix. From Sullivan's Crossing. Shout
out to Scott also and Freaky or Friday. So I
have seen Chad Michael Murray selling some things too. What
was he selling the other day? Door Dash?

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Oh? DoorDash?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, door Dash. I was like, all right, I'll give
it a go. What else? Oh? He talks about a
Cinderella Story sequel, which I feel like you would be
pretty stoked about. Yes, so okay.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I mixed feelings.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
One, A Cinderella Story was so iconic for people my
like my age group, iconic. I mean we all dreamed
about going to the high school football game, having the
quarterback run up the bleachers, kiss you in the rain,
like we This movie was it. Everyone loved a Cinerella
story so never.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I've never seen it. Just finish fifty year olds out there.
My never, I never saw it.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
You were giving it's like a Hillary when you're saying
that all that.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I thought it was Drew Barrymore. Never been kissed, oh, Michael, very.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Similar very similarly. Love that movie too.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Although weirdly inappropriate, never been kissed, like the teachers having
a thing with the student that isn't a student. Like
but anyway, right, right, right right, I can tell you
let go of that because I love Michael Vartan so
much in that movie.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
And I loved you Barrymore, so I didn't care. I
was like, it's fine, anyways.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
So Chad His idea is, essentially, it doesn't work out
between Sam.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
And Austin bad. It wasn't bad, No, it.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Wasn't bad, but it's just hashtag been done before. So
they died their separate ways.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Austin becomes a teacher and realizes one of his students
is Sam's daughter, and then they reconnect.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
And I thought he even said, maybe his kid falls
in love with her kid.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I respect him for trying, respect him for trying.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, you know, I'm not mad about it. I also
think it was so iconic. I don't want it to I.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Don't want to reboot of this one. I don't want
to see I want it to be a Cinderella story.
I can still watch today and just.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
The end it together.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Hillary Duff and CMM, Chad Michael Murray, Sam and Austin Yeah,
got it.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
And the whole thing was she.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Was the the not cool girl at school and he
was the quarterback and they fell in love on it online.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Ya, the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I also don't know why Hillary Deff would be the
not cool girl, but whatever. Chad Michael Murray's had like
some real moments in his life, Like he was like
one tree Hill Freaky Friday, right, He's really yeah, he's
had some real moments. Michael Murray king of thinking of

(08:01):
Rory's boyfriends because he sort of was a boyfriend. Why
is his character's name totally out of my head? Do
not tell me, Chad Michael Murray on Gilmore Girls, Why
do I want to say Zane? What was mis My God,
it's so hard so. Jared Padialuchi Dean a lot of

(08:23):
Dean news. Okay. First of all, Jared Padileuki celebrated his
forty third birthday and his wife, Genevieve posted, now here's
all I can think of because I did not watch Supernatural,
which I know they met in Supernatural and she was
on Supernatural. The way I know her was from this
Rando ABC family show called Wildfire, which I think I

(08:44):
watched almost every episode of No Random. I really really
love that show back whenever it was on. I mean,
I think I might have petered out on the last season.
But anyway, he also so, Jared's been very open about
his mental health and some struggles sad with his mental health,
and how like the reaction when he opened up about
it was really positive and people were loving and accepting,

(09:08):
and this I actually liked. And I thought the sweatshirt
was really cute. He's raising money with a sweatshirt. I
guess it's on shop stands at shop stands, and it's
for the AKF Mental Health Initiatives, and it's this really
cute crop sweatshirt and it says something really cute. It
says you define you. And I thought I just called

(09:30):
it out because I thought the sweatshirt was so cute.
I was like, they didn't buy that.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Hm.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Anyway, speaking of buying things, Okay, so I recently did
order a bunch of stuff on Hallmark allegedly. I saw
this on Instagram. There are Gilmore Girl's plushies at Target,
and I cannot find them.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah, they're very cute. There's like a but.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Who can find them? Can anyone buy them? There's a
coffee mug, there's a a dosies. I can't find them.
I searched Target high and Love, then I googled it.
I cannot find them.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
I was literally hmmm pulling up Target, but he said
you can find therein try.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
No, they're I think they're exclusive to Target, Homewark store.
I got a bunch of stuff I wanted, but I
cannot find these plushies and I really want them.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Fifty pages of Gilmore Girls items at Target.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Who would have thought? You know? I know there's tons, yes,
but I need the plushies. Okay, Oh my god, speaking
of so viral, so viral that I've seen it twenty

(10:38):
different times. Lauren Graham doing her makeup.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Oh well, okay, so I can get behind this.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
It's come up on my feed so many times. And
she does a bunch of sort of winky when Gilmore
Girls coffee mentions. Anyway you explain merit do you use
the makeup?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I use Merit.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
So when I was pregnant with the first Uh, you
know they say when you're pregnant, you're supposed to use
clean makeup company's whatever.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Merit is one of those. And you guys, this is
not sponsored.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
No, not at all. It's like so that's why they
were geniuses. That's why these people were geniuses for obviously
paying Lauren Graham because everyone's talking about it, everyone's reposting it,
like they probably sold my makeup from that than any
it is.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
It is amazing brand. I use it.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I mean I hardly wear makeup, but when I do
put on makeup, I use it. Love it so much.
But I love even more Lauren Graham.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
It's she did.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Good makeup too. I was like, whoa, but.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
It's simple, you know, it's not like a caked on
or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
I just loved when she was like telling the story
of like and yeah, if you're like not ready and
somebody wants you to meet for dinner and you ah ah.
Like she's just so funny the way she did it,
like she was so herself. It didn't feel like a
tutorial or like an ad. I was like it was
just like a great show. I was like, can I
watch this?

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I I thought I found the stuffed animal. It was
a Luke's pillow, but it's not.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Well, maybe and I can look for the stuffies. Okay,
in a shocking in a thing that shocked me. Are
you ready?

Speaker 1 (12:14):
I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
So I've been wanting to watch this new show Countdown
because it has a lot of Gilmore Girls reasons, but
this was not it. So I wanted to watch it
because it's Eric Dane's show, and I just thought it
looks good. I really kind of just been thinking about
Eric Dane a lot, even though I don't know him.
Maybe I know, I can't stop thinking about him. He
also was in Tahoe, and I can say this because

(12:37):
he's not here anymore. It was like the talk of
the town because he was at this restaurant's shady side
with like forty people and I know some family members,
So how does he look?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Well.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
I wasn't there. I wish I was. I just heard
about it. It's a small town. It's a talk of
the town. But I was not there. But I think good.
I think good. And I know some friends that have
also seen him lately, and I think he looks good.
So anyway, I wanted to watch the show Countdown. So
I'm like, Okay, I'm gona watch this for Eric Dane
and Jensen Accles who I'll give you connection. Jensen was
on Supernatural with Jared Yeah, who was on Gilmore Girls

(13:12):
as Dean. I love Jensen. I've known Jensen. Jensen's was
an old, old old friend of Ryan Seacrests. So I've
known Jensen all through the years. You know his wife,
We love the wife, we love them all, you know,
love her. Yeah. So and also Jensen can sing, which
is like, like he can really sing. I don't know
why he does not have an album. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
My question to you is is he an actor or
a musician?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
At first? An actor? He's he started on Days of
Our Lives back when Eric I think Eric Winter. I
think this was another way we knew Jensen. Eric Winter
was on Days of Our Lives and he was buddies
with Jensen. It just goes so far back, right, so sorry,
so far back. So anyway, I'm like, I want to
watch Jensen's new show. See how it is. Opening scene,
I go, I'm sorry, is that? My love anything with

(14:00):
Milo was literally like what is happening. It's fully Milow,
fully Milo playing a cop. Immediately, I was like, Milo's
not on this show. So I know this isn't gonna
go well for Milo, right spoiler alerts spoiler alerts spoiler
alert doesn't he die right away? Immediately? Like he dies?

(14:20):
The whole premise of the show is, I think. And
then I haven't finished even episode one because I was
so like what, I had to text you guys instead.
I was like, oh my god. First of all, he
looks great. He totally plays a cop. He has like
a full action scene, and then just pop, how dead?
And I was like what? So I think the whole
premise of the show is them trying to like figure
out who did it. Anyway, I'll let you guys know

(14:43):
how the show is. But that I was like, will
he be me?

Speaker 3 (14:47):
You know how I'm Paradise the president dies the first episode,
I think he's gone, Oh he's gone.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
I think he's I don't know that we're gonna have
flashbacks or whatever. By the way, he just totally ruined
Paradise for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
No, we've talked about this already always on this on
the show before and you.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Watch the first episode and you know the president dies.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah, I think you know, like right now. Although they
figured out how to get James Marsden on there a lot,
which I like, Oh my god. By the way, separately, yes,
so separately, Emma, can you please, however you kids do
it DM the girl who threw the baby shower, the
Gilmore Girls inspired baby shit, we know her, we're friends

(15:28):
with her.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Tara is friends with her and went to it.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
I'm sorry, Am I absolutely crazy that I forgot this
or did not know this? No, You're okay.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
I didn't know until Emma told me.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
So next week I need you to book Tara and
the baby shower girl. I saw it just randomly on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
And it's so cute.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Oh my god. First of all, I don't know where
my brain has been, because we immediately need to get
her on tell people how to do it, and I'm
going to.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Tell you just a few things, like, so you know
how she like made it Gilmer girlsie so Norman Mailer's
iced tea Founder's Day punch, Suki's a iconic chocolate cake, bit.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
A fee bar she did, Bit of Basket.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
A bit of Basket coffee bar, from Luke's Diner, Dosie's
Markets Fresh Fruits and Veggies, a candy bar from Taylor's
Old Fashioned Soda Shoppy.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
So we have to get her on it looks so cute. Okay,
so that will be coming soon.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Do you want to play this game? You have twenty
dollars to build.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Maybe we save it for next week. Do you want
to save it now? We can do it. Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
So we'll post the chart on social.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
But it's basically you have twenty dollars to build your
your perfect Stars holiday.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
This is kind of hard to do on a pod.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
I think I would just yeah, but I'm just gonna
tell you what I would do if I had twenty
dollars and I'm in Stars Hollow. Okay, I'm gonna go
to Luke Steiner and get maybe all I can afford
his fries. I'm gonna go to the Soda Shoppy and
then I think I had to have enough to go.
What do you mean that's not an option? It's not
I don't have to pay attention to this chart. I
can make a mown day. Okay, you tell you what

(17:17):
I'm going to do with my twenty bucks. I'm gonna
go to Luke Steiner get fries because I can afford that.
I'm gonna go to the Soda Shoppy and get some candy,
and then I'm gonna go into the movie theater, the
cheap that cheap, fake movie theater. That's not really movie theater.
It's like the cheap to you know where they watch
it and you know couches.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Okay, So I'll tell you my day based off of
this chart. So I'm gonna hang out with Lorli. We're
gonna start at Al's Pancake World. I'm gonna order pancakes.
Then for lunch, we're gonna go to Luke Steiner. I'm
gonna order a hamburger.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You're out of money, but.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
No I'm not.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I'm not got twenty dollars.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
And then the last thing I'm doing is I'm going
to Weston's Bakery and I'm going to order a pot.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
I love your day, respect to your day. You have
not you do not have enough money for this?

Speaker 3 (18:05):
No, I okay, no, according to this chart I edited
up lore lized ten dollars, but.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
This chart is made up.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
I have one dollar left.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
If you go to if you go to Al's pancake world.
I'm telling you the pancakes are probably minimum. You're not
getting out of there under.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
The chart is not based off of actual dollars.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Oh okay, well, I was taking the game more seriously
and what I was going to actually do this is
just made up.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Well, all I'm telling you is I still have one
dollar left, so you know what, I'm gonna order coffee
at Weston's Bakery too.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Why would you order coffee at Western right.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
That's dumb? At Luke's Diner too. Seriously, I just don't
like the coffee.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
I don't want to be this person, but I feel
like I took it seriously with the real twenty and
I made myself a great day and Stars Hollow guess what.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
I took it literally per the chart, but let's post
that on special.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
That's that's for sure. Although people make your own day,
don't you can? You can? The chart can inspire you.
But like, if you really have twenty dollars and you
got dropped off in Stars Hollow, what are you really
gonna do.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
I'm going to lose to diner. I'm having a burger
and fries and.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Me too, and then I still probably I don't but
we're tapped out of money. You're gonna have soda. I
don't drinks.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
I don't either, but it's a special occasion.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Do you. I don't even ever break it. Do you
on a special occasion?

Speaker 3 (19:26):
I don't you know what I do. So my husband
likes soda and I reach over. Take two SIPs. That's
all I need, you know, that's it.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
SIPs back.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Oh wow, Okay, that's the news, and that's the news.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Hey, everybody, don't forget.
