Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Again you Gilmore Girls Gazette with Amy Sugarman and Danielle Romo,
an iHeart radio podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's a good day. It's a Gilmore Girls Gazette away.
Don't you think a.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Lot of gees? The Gilmore Girls in general. I find
it's just a lot of gees. Gilmore Girls Gazette and
good and great and let's go. It's always a lot
of cheese.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
There's a lot of cheese. We have to start with
the last time we spoke.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
No no, no, no, no, no, no no. The last time we spoke,
you had you had not seen the handsman hands.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Okay, they still haven't. They still haven't.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Good.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Here's what I'm doing, and this is why I wanted
to talk about it. Thanks for bringing it up. Yeah,
I started from episode one because here's what I wanted
to do.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
You're gonna report on this in fifty years when you no.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
No, no, I'm almost done with season one. I'll be
in two weeks. I'll be caught up, so maybe three.
I wanted to go to episode one because I wanted
to rewatch everything before because this is the last season
of a Handmaid's Tale. So sometimes when that happens. I
want to rewatch everything so that I can really enjoy
the last season. And I am not like, wait, what happened?

(01:31):
Who is that person again? You know, there's so many
different things in characters, but Alexis Bludell is really prominently
featured in the first season. And here's what I'm gonna say.
She is so good.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Oh, she's amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
She's not Rory like sometimes with Laura and I I like,
even in Parenthood, she's got a little of Laura Lai
in her.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah, and just in any way, and make the comparison
for Alexis, she is Rory and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Exactly right, right, right right, no, fair, fair fair. In
this one, she is so good again. Yeah, my favorite
word I always use nuanced. The performance is so good.
She's such a complicated character and she's sort of a
menace and she's a rebel in it, and it's so
unexpected because of her sort of demeanor and the way

(02:23):
we know. So you're like, so, I'm just saying I
know that she's up for an Emmy for Guest Actress
for this.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
One, and she's wonted in the past.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Yeah, and she's you know, I don't know what happens yet,
but I think, you know, she obviously has a great
performance in this final episode, but she's just so good
in it. The whole show is so good.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
From what I've seen online, people were not too pleased
with the finale.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Oh really, don't tell me this.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
I haven't seen it, so this is this is this
is just hearsay that I saw on Instagram. People are
not thrilled with a finale, but people loved Alexis.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I wondered because I think June might go back, I
don't know, and Hannah it doesn't. I don't know, because
there's gonna be a new Handmaid's Tale spin off focusing
on Hannah, who's June's daughter, So I don't know. Maybe
they don't. Maybe it didn't tie it up in a bow.
I'm not sure. I literally do not know, because I've
avoided everything because I want to really watch it. And
I almost went down the rabbit hole and started to

(03:28):
get like spoilers, and then I'm like no, no, no, yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yeah, fair.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
You know you know what else had an awful finale.
I mean it just this season finale, but not serious finale.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
So it's fine. You're gonna laugh. There's only one other
person on the zoom that will agree with me.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Oh, because it's some bravo thing Secret Lives of Mormon Wise.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Oh the way that this season ended, I am.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
A wait, well, tell me what happens. The promos make
that show look really juicy, and it makes me kind
of scandalous.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
They're crazy. They are nut jobs. They literally.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
They literally do reality TV justice.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
This is reality TV. This is what it's supposed to.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
It's making me want to watch and as we know,
I'm gonna start watching Traders.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
So Traders is good. Traders is good, But Traders.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
They're just completely different because Traders is not juicy in
the sense of, oh my god, this is happening in
their lives. It's juicy in the sense of, like, oh
my god, that just happened, like because they don't. It's
not about their life, right, It's about the competition. And
Mormon Wives is about their lives.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
And there's a swinging scandal and there is.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I mean, and get togethers and best friends turning on
each other and it is so juice. I do not
condone any of the actions within this series.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
However, it is great to like watching. It is it
is great to watch.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Well, I look you and the promos have convinced me
that I may want to check it out.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
You know what we do have to check out?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Oh, I can't tell which one you're going for.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Nobody wants it?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Oh my god, we know when we're getting it.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Eight Hasband said October twenty third.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Dave Rigalski Adam Brody will be coming in October.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
We will get more Nobody Wants This, which is a
really good show. I actually really enjoyed it. It's light
fair like it was not. You know, it's a really
good show. But we all need a little more Dave
Ford Galski in our life.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
And Netflix needs something. I feel like Netflix is kind of, oh.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
You're having something Flix. I'm trying to think what I'm
watching on Netflix right.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Now, and Netflix is just I mean.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
My seven year old niece really wanted to watch The
Babysitters Club on Netflix, and oh my gosh, that is
a whole fascinating thing for a seven year old because
she's reading all the books and then she's like, WHOA,
I'm watching the show and I can't figure out who's who?
You know? She's like, yeah, he knows all the characters.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
So that was if you think about it, who has
Mormon Wives that had Paradise that.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Had Mormon Wives?

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Is Hulu is Hulu? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Oh you're talking about how Hulu is is kind of
meanings just like right now, kind of crushing it. And
lou has Handmaid's Tale, right right?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I mean Grandon.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Netflix is getting Ginny and Georgia back this weekend, which
I'm super excited watched it.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I've never watched it. It's on my list. I might
get fifty seven shows. I just looked at my list
the other day and I was like, Wow, there's.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Very Gilmore girly ties but dark. It's Gilmore Girls but dark.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
You know, you bring up Mormon. It makes me want
to rewatch Big Love. That's on my list again. Watching
Big Love, I know. And I think that was because
of all those Mormon promos.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
I was like, I need to know who whoever did
marketing on Mormon Wives snap crushed.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I agree, they totally crushed it. Speaking of things that
I don't know if people are watching or not, I'm
getting very mixed feelings on it Wall. At one point
I saw something saying it twall is so amazing and
then on the other hand, I'm seeing its wall is
no good at all. So which is it? Which is it? Jackie?

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I'm still on episode seven.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Oh how many are there?

Speaker 1 (07:24):
You're seven ahead of me.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
I'm trying to finish. I'm hoping by the time I finish,
I will have a better overview. I'm having hard time
getting through each episode because I just think the main
dancer is just so like angry.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
I don't know whow Oh.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Luke Kirby is great. I will not discredit Luke Kirby. Well,
he was great in Mazel. I loved him in Masel.
But here's what I'm gonna say. I don't think I
can bring myself to watch it. I was so uninterested
in it from the first fifteen minutes. I actually don't
think I can do it. I don't think that I
could force myself.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
You know what, I can't get myself to watch again
bun Heads. Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yet I feel I almost said that, Danielle, that I
feel like you felt that way about Bunheads. You did
not like it, and.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
It has ended. It has ended for a good reason,
and it is hasn't ended from your brain, It's ended
from my brain.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
I like Bunheads. I don't know. I didn't feel the
same way, but it'swall was really rough for me. Wait, now,
we do have an exciting game today, but I'm going
to skip over the game. We will need to pull
it up so we can do the game, the BuzzFeed game.
Oh yeah, Gilmore Girls. But let's do that at the
very end. And again, I don't have my trivia cards,
which is so bad. I'm so sorry, you guys. I'm

(08:33):
ruining our whole thing. And I wanted to play Monopoly
and I think we ordered Trivial Pursuit Gilmour edition.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Should just do a Gilmore Girls game night.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
That's what I was thinking. One of these days. We
really should because we've got so many things now. So
this is interesting. Max Greenfield, who was on Gilmore Girls
season four, episode four, one of Dean's friends at the
bachelor party, will be joining. Speaking of I think Netflix
is a man on the inside on Netflix. I think

(09:02):
it is. I think that's that Ted Danson show that
Sally Strouthers is also on. So Max Greenfield, another Gilmore
Girls person, will also be on that, so that's kind
of interesting. Is Sally going to be back? I'm assuming
so there'd be two Gilmore girls people.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Hmmm, speaking of.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Max Greenfield, a lot of Max Greenfield news. Zoey Deschanel
and Max Greenfield are spoofing their New Girls' roles on
the Simpson If.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
You watched New Girl, huh.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I watched. I think I tapped out at the end there.
I think when Zoey Deschanel left and someone replaced her
for a minute, who, I can't remember who that was,
someone kind of cool. I can't remember. I sort of
tapped out, But uh yeah, I liked it. I might
go back and rewatch it all again. I'm more I'm
more like it because of the boys. I have to

(09:55):
say that out loud. I'm not like the I don't
want to say. I don't want to be me. I
don't want to be me. I don't know if I want.
I don't watch it for Zoe as much as I
watched it for the boys. Okay, pair just saying they
were really really I loved all the chemistry. Oh Megan Fox,
thank you. Megan Fox replaced zoe Dchanel and I think
when she was having a baby. Oh Taylor Swift news

(10:26):
like she gave.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I hate that. I've been using this phrase so much.
I hate it.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
It's okay, let it out.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Let Carol King her flowers.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Oh I thought Carol King gave Taylor Swift her flowers.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Oh yeah, sorry the reverse. I'm sorry, the reverse, my
bat totally my bad.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Carol King praised Taylor Swift for getting her master's back,
and I think she said, you continue to inspire.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
What is a grand compliment?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
It is because you know, Taylor Swift is named after
James Taylor.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I'm ninety nine percent sure, pretty sure. I don't want
to be wrong, but I'm pretty pretty sure. And obviously
Carol so obviously I'm not gonna I'm just gonna say,
in my opinion, I think Taylor's Swift also would be
pretty stoked that Carol King is giving her that compliment,
for sure, for sure. So that's what kind of juicy

(11:22):
good for Taylor. That's that's cool. I can't figure out
how much money that costs, though I tried googling and
going down a rabbit hole. How much did it cost?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Well, it says Taylor bought her masters relatively close to
what they were sold for three hundred and sixty million.
Oh my god, we don't have a confirmed amount though,
but estimated.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Greater Braun bottom and then he sold them, and then
she bought him from whoever Scooter Braun sold them to.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
I think what a sticky, sticky very yeah, oh.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
It's stickier even than that. We won't even go into it.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Very.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
I don't think it involves like people who were with
Taylor in the beginning of her career exactly.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yes, Okay, moving on, We love you.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Taylor, We love you. That's the biz, baby, Okay, John
Ham our boy, we talk about a lot, said the
young actors on mad Men tried to smoke real cigarettes,
but it didn't go well. First of all, Hi, I
know why why why why? Why? Why? Why?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Why why why?

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Why?

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Why? Come on? Smoking is so nineteen sixty two. It's
Liza Whyle's birthday on June fifth. This weekend snaps for
Lazi Birthday, Liza whole. We're trying to be better about
remembering everyone's birthdays. We should definitely do a special Instagram
shout out for her. Okay, are we ready for the game?
Can anyone pull up the game? Oh? I think I can. Okay,

(12:49):
I got it, I got it.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I haven't gone to pick with the game.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
I haven't done it yet. Did you do it already? I?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Well, when we got our rundown, I read through it
to prep for this episode.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Doing your homework.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I win, I know, and I got a bone to
pick with it.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Oh do you want to do it at the end? First?
Want me to do it?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Well?

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Is it just dumb?

Speaker 1 (13:07):
It's too easy?

Speaker 4 (13:09):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (13:10):
I'd rather Emma or Jackie tell us, so do I
and we guess what it is?

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Well?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Wait, do I give am I trying to be a
Gilmart girl? Or do I give my actual answer? It
says what's for breakfast? Do I pick what it is
for me?

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Oh? Okay? Oh you know what you did a shame
on me?

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
What I was thinking? I thought it.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
I thought the question was what is for breakfast? If
you're a Gilmart girl? And you answer and I'm like,
this is way too easy.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
I know all the answers.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
I think I'm going to press it. Oh, it's for breakfast.
So here's the choices. Pop tarts and coffee, giant eggs,
toast and black coffee like you're a real adult, doughnut
and an apple while you rush out the door. A
homemade omelet with herbs. You grew yourself, so do I'm
going to press.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
It and now okay, now, and now I guess eggs toast?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Okay, got it? Okay? So then next your go to
snack during Wait are you doing this live on? But
I'm doing it on BuzzFeed so that i can get
what I'm assuming it's gonna give me some sort of
an answer.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Oh okay, let me tell you. What I thought this
game was is who is a homemte?

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Aw my an herbs? You grow about yourself, Suki? But
this is it is that?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
It is that? But you're picking, so it's gonna tell
me which character I am. I think at the end
you're picking for yourself or yourself. Yeah, your go to
snack during a stressful day?

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Yes, what did you pick?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I picked eggs toast and black coffee, even though I
don't drink coffee. I'm not making an omelet, and I'm
not eating a pop tart and I'm not eating a donut.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
I'm I picked the same thing I.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Go to snack, cold Chinese food leftover crember let respect
for who it ever picks that an apple or nothing,
because snacking is unnecessary, that's got to be Michelle and
trail mix. I forgot was in my back cold Chinese.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Food the trail mix for me.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Okay, what are you drinking right now? A spice chi
latte with whipped cream, oh mate, suki water or maybe
tea like a functioning human being? Coffee? Your blood type
is coffee, a second coffee, but with almond look obviously water.
I think that's gonna be luke. I think I'm gonna
be luke.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
I'm a second coffee with the boy.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Pick a guilty pleasure, okay. Truffle fries never never, never mind.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
I love trouble fries.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
I hate truffle so much. If somebody at a table
next to me has truffle, I'm like gagging. Chili cheese
fries and a donut, but.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
That sounds delicious.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
A meat loaf sandwich, it's not guilty, it's just good.
Or mac and cheese from a box with some microwavable
veggiemis now. I cannot eat anything on that list. I
cannot have trouble fries, I cannot eat mac and cheese.
I cannot eat a meatloaft sandwich because it sounds awful.
And chili cheese fries and a donut.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
You see I love chili cheese fries and I love donuts,
but the combo is throwing me.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
So bad, and I would prefer mac and cheese over
to trouble fries. So mac and cheese for me, What
are you doing?

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Mac and cheese box? Crap mac and cheese. I'm going
for the chili cheese fries and a donut, and I'm
just going to scrape all the chili cheese off and
eat maybe one fry and the doughnut. That's the best
I can do on that one. What's your ideal dinner plan?
Take out from three different places because you couldn't decide, Okay,
Loralai microwave something random from the fridge, grilled chicken, vegetables
and a rantomb out preservatives, A four course homemade meal

(16:15):
with matching wine pairings. Oh man, okay.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Take out baby all day.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
I'm going forour course homemade meal, not by me, by
a chef, obviously. Pick a random food combo you'd actually
try peanut butter and banana sandwich. This is now getting fun.
Sounds like not random. I'm now getting into this pizza
with marshmallows on top, maple syrup glazed carrots with chili flakes.
That is so souky. None of that. Just eat food

(16:41):
like a real person.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Okay, Luke, I love peanut butter.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Peanut butter something to go with pizza with marshmallows on top.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Peanut butter.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
It bloats me. Oh interesting, thanks for asking, though, maybe
like a peanut butter cup wants in a bluemen. What's
dessert looking like? Osh fruit tart made from scratch before breakfast,
A cookie you don't remember buying but are definitely eating,
Laura ice cream, pop tarts, and leftover Halloween candy from
last year, all in one bowl you don't really do

(17:10):
deserve them. You'll have a bite of somewhere Else's I mean?
That is so Luke. I'm going a fresh fruit tart.
Well it says I made from scratch. I'm gonna go
with the cookie.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I get cookies? Is my Yes?

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Who I am? Yes, nooo, I am, which is unexpected.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
That's very unexpected for me too. Did you get I
got Rory?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Oh my god, I got Lauraa. Boom boom boom, pretty stoked,
Pretty stoked. That actually ended up being a really game.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Read your synopsis like the result of Lauraa.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
You eat like a raccoon. You just got access to
a fully stock snack Ayle, and honestly I support it.
Breakfast is pop tarts and coffee, lunches, pizza and more coffee,
and dinners whatever Luke puts in front of you. You
live off takeout, diner food and vending machines, but somehow
still thrive. Your meals are impressive, sugar Field, and you
usually eat in while watching TV in bed. You are
lore like Gilmore. It's food is not just fuel, it's

(18:06):
your emotional support. I'm not quite that extreme, but respect.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
So for Rory.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Mine says, your food choices are all over the place,
but there's still some logic hiding in there. You'll have
a banana for breakfast and then chase it with leftover
fries in a milkshake.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
That is valid.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
You'll try to be balanced but end up eating junk
while studying at one am. You are fueled by coffee, anxiety.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
And whatever is on laurelized plate.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Your Rory Gillmore and your food habits are weird mix
of responsible and chaotic. Just like you, Amen, I feel
like I just read my horoscope for them.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
That is great.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
That ended up being a really great game. Started off
kind of confusing and slow, and then it just jammed.
And I'm going to say, for those of you still listening,
play along, play it for yourself.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah, no doubt that. I am pleasantly surprised.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
That was really good. And that's the news and that's
the news dot
