Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in again.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh that's just you.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
I am all in again with Scott Patterson, an iHeartRadio podcast.
Well look who's back. It's another week of Parenthood recap
from your friends Amy and Mark.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
What do we call? Is this officially called Gilmore Girl's
Gazette Parenthood?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
What is this? I think it's just called Gilmore Girl's Gazette.
And then some are parenthood and some are headlines and
some are special.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
So this is Gilmore Girls Gazette. Correct, this is Gilmore
Girls Gazette Parenthood and once again a great episode. I'll
have you walk us through it, do the synopsis, but
I have to say I'm not one hundred percent on
uh Monica Potter aka Christina's parenting.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Okay, we'll talk about that. I felt like we were
treading water a little bit in this episode. I don't
feel like we're advancing the story a lot in this episode,
but we'll come back to that.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Not as home runny as the others, I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
But.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
It's still a night like it's just.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
For sure, It's like, come on, this is season two,
Episode twelve, Meet the New Boss. Air date January eleventh,
twenty eleven, one eleven eleven. Why didn't we party that day?
We should have?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Adam tries to cope with the idea of a new
boss and is concerned about the stability of his job.
Christina tries winning Hattie over as she seeks comfort and
Amber when she realizes her parents refuse to accept her decision. Meanwhile,
Crosby's attempting to overcome a few obstacles of his own
as a coordinator of a kindergarten performance at Jabbar's school.
Amber is taking on the challenge of performing at an
(01:44):
open mic night, but she is surprised by who her
biggest critic is.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
So much treading water was a great way to say it?
Little too negative for me? What is a positive version
of that? More sort of status quo?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yes, okay, fine, we're just cruising along.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Now, let's throw out right away the a little bit
hashtag trying too hard for me with the very.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Millennial boss guy. But did you recognize him?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Who?
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah? Who is that guy?
Speaker 3 (02:20):
So?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
My gosh, I was so excited. I was sitting Who
is this guy? He's familiar to me? Is no ho
Hank from Barry?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
I don't watch Barry. I watched an episode or two
I know I'm gonna Berry's on my list. Good.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I really hope she watched Barry's Fantastic and no, hold
Hank is one of the great like hilarious villains in
TV history.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Isn't don't give me the name. This is menopause. Do
not give me the name the Saturday Live guy that
literally created Barry.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
No.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I can, of course tell you he's dating Ali Wong
and used to date Rachel Bilson. So the fact that
I can do that is so crazy. And he's got
he's a little bit of a got anxiety because he
tells Jimmy Fallon or one of those dudes about his
anxiety when he was out of SNL. He didn't love
being on SNL and he was that goofy guy on SNL.
Why is his name out of my head?
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Do not? I'm ready when you want it. And he's cute.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Give me the first letter of his first name. B.
See that's not helpful because it's just making me go Barry.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Barry right plays Barry.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
And he's not Jason Sudeikis.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
By the way, you love Henry Winkler. Why are you
not watching?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I could have told you Henry Winkler immediately why is
that other guy's name out of my head? Give me
the first letter of his last name. H Oh my god,
this is so menipause. It's insane. Bart Brad, don't say it,
(03:55):
it'll come to me. Pause it. I mean, he won
the Emmy.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
He won the Golden Girl. Clue there, did you hear
my clue?
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Not a lover? He's not Bill Hayter.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Where we go? Is?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
It just takes a minute? Sorry, guys, I mean you
should have seen the day we had to do that
with Norman Redis.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
It was so brutal. I remember that, and now it's
just Norman.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Okay. So aside from the fact that you like the
guy from Barry, it's so a little hashtag trying.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
But it's so great because he's no whole hank. He's shaved,
his head's shaved, he has no eyebrows, he's fully shaved,
and he's hilarious with an accent, and he was just
like a total young dude. And it's still funny that
it's the same guy. But anyway, yes, I agree.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
I do like the fact that he was like, hey,
before you guys, jump the shark, basically right, like he
was like your sneakers were cool, and then they suddenly weren't,
so that was kind of cool. I don't know, I
feel like he had sort of a group of friends
too that somebody else.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Looks familiar in that the only generational conflict. I always
find that amusing. I think it's hilarious when gen Z
trashes millennials. Nowadays, in a few years, when Jenna Alpha
starts trashing gen Z, it's going to be great. So
I kind of like that dynamic. But it's a little
bit too. They're like, he's not like a stereot mark.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Pause. Can we please just talk about how gen X
is obviously the best of course, like the fact that
people don't give gen X just all due credit, Like
we work harder, we're like significantly more like regulated, and like,
you know, we know what we're doing. I like to
(05:30):
not going sideways by little things anyway, sidebar, it's fine.
I I yeah, you're not wrong about the conflict, but
it's just a little bit like.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
And that's which it is, you know, Lovely like takes
him besides says hey, you got to get your your
stuff together here, and he calls him braver man, you
up for it. It's going to get radical Oh my god, jeez,
giving me a little bit, uh the.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Little hashtag I'm trying too hard a little bit.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, I actually like Poucy from the Simpsons.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
It's coming back to me the whole storyline, and it's
not my favorite, like the great conflict at the sneaker Factory,
do you know what I mean? Like right, I'm much most,
much more into Sarah dating the boss. That was a
storyline I really could get behind.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Sure, And then Christine is playing his video game and
Adam's all weird about it.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Oh yeah, then she was she he's falling asleep and
she's obsessed with the video game. It's like, it's just
a little bit like I could write that, and that's
not That's not something that I should be able to say. So, okay,
I understand what she's doing, right, she obviously feels awful,
So she's just kissing ass, kissing ass kissing ass chocolate
chip pancakes, although I did giggle at the bad pancakes.
(06:45):
And then he's like, I hate the bad one. Can
I have the good one? Now, you know whatever? And
the painting of the room. But my thing is like,
that's not parenting, Like you made this decision.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Done this before in our house. I can't think of
a specific example, but I feel like we've done some
you know, felt guilty about laying the hammer down and
gone way in the other direction.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I just think that, how do I say this? The
whole thing with Michael B. Jordan is way bigger than
a chocolate chip pancake or some paint color, right, Like,
this is like a big thing. This is someone that
your daughter has truly, like has feelings for, and this
is about this boy coming over and being vulnerable and
(07:29):
honest and is a good guy. I just felt like
there was a different choice that could have been made,
and anybody, anybody, including Christina and Adams, should have known
exactly what was gonna happen. She was gonna exactly go
to May Whitman and say, figure out how to help
me get around this, and then give me the old
(07:52):
fake name.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
In the phone.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
By the way, come on, how am I gonna get
his calls of name him Chloe?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Like what I mean fifteen years ago? That was probably groundbreaking,
I suppose.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
And then you know he's so sweet and ask her
on that sweet date, and it's like, this is my thing.
This is something that Christina and Adam would like live
for right. They want to be involved in this hearing
about the date what they're doing, but they misparented in
my opinion.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, we talked about that last week.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Anybody would know exactly what Hattie's going to do.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Right. They made the wrong move and now they're making
worse moves to make it worse.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Correct and then just the pam paint the room like
so I enjoy watching it, yeah, because I disagree with it.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
It was a sweet moment with Amber and Hattie in
the car where at Amber was like, hey, you know,
careful with the booze and I just want to tell you.
I thought that was sweet.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
She was great because she's like, hey, I know what
this is like, and you can be clean for a
minute and then you're not. Yeah, so that was a
great scene.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Great.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
I'm giving cousin behavior ten out of ten. Yes, yes,
I'm just not giving Adam and Christina specifically Christina a
ten out of ten.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
So then, speaking of Amber, we have her open mic
night and the preparation thereof girl can sing.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Knew she could sing, Girl can sing.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Well in the moments between her and Sarah were even
more special, I thought because of her showing up at
Lauren Graham's star ceremony this week. I thought they made
it even what a bond still have.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
We talked about this in gazette. Have you ever seen
that many celebrities show up for somebody's star ceremony?
Speaker 1 (09:39):
No, it's a beautiful thing. Uh No?
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Correct? Like yes, the celebrity like the Amy Sherman Palladina
that's doing the talk shows up. I have never seen
a celebrity get ten other celebrities in the audience of
their thing, like maybe Aniston had a bunch of people,
but like Logan was there and sorry to redundant. We
talked about this on gazette. Scott was there, so Zukri
(10:04):
was there, Scott Rose, ab Do, Kelly Bishop, and then
you get the whole Parenthood crew. It's like that was amazing.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, so she that just shows you that she must
be a beloved, good person in real life.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
And she's very tight with May Whitman.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Great. Still love that, like so cool.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
So.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
May Whitman can sing. The whole storyline's cool. It's not
really doing anything to forward like the drama, but.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
More seeds being planted for Seth coming her.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Please, nothing's ever been more obvious, like they were literally like,
we've got ten weeks before John Krovitch rolls into the set,
like we must get ready. I love Zeke again. I
felt like Zeke has a couple times now weeks in
a row, been a excellent grandparent.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yes, agreed, aka parent.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I don't know that Lauren Graham's critique of the music
was as bad as the it landed, although I do
know that as a daughter, when your mom's like, why
did you put that lamp there? That you just literally
want to throw the lamp out the window, You're like,
I want it there. I don't want to convince you
(11:16):
I wanted there. Now you've made me so insecure about
the lamp that I need to just toss the lamp like.
So the reaction was actually.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Particular, probably spot on. I mean, the synopsis says she's
surprised by who her biggest critic is. I mean, she
wasn't me that critical. She was kind of given some
pointers in that sort of thing.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
No get it, You're just not gonna win by trying
that move. Just say real good, go up there and
crush it well, especially since it took everything to even
be allowed in the room when she's going to do
a song.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
The least you can do is keep your mouth shut
about it.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
And no mom can do it. No, no mom can
do it. I was watching a different show, Gray's Anatomy.
I was catching up on Grey's Anatomy because the premiere,
Are you caught up?
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I am caught up? Yes?
Speaker 3 (12:01):
With the explosion, yes, which I knew that explosion was coming.
I sort of was like covering half my face because
I was like, when's it coming? When's it coming? And
Tamila Luddington's character talks about not having a mom, and
I think it's the other guy that sort of explains
to it, well, that's what moms do. I like, saved
my mom's life, and she critiqued that I did it wrong.
(12:23):
That was very similar in tone to what we were
dealing with over here. By the way, can I say
something crazy about medical shows?
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Please?
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I know this is a side tangent. I watched Gray's Anatomy,
Chicago Med. Do you watch Chicago Med?
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Mind a chance?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
It's amazing, you should do it? And a couple others, right,
Doc Pitch.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
I watched Doc. I watched The Resident. The amount of
times that an obscure disease is featured on these shows
at the same time. Befuddles me. Wow, Like it's so
weird that I'm like, why is this happening? Like literally,
they'll be like we're going to talk. Oh, you know,
they their leg fell off because an ant a poisoned
(13:09):
ant bit their toe in the wrong way. And then
you literally switch to the other medical show and I'm
not making this up. Please support me. It's the same thing, right,
Oh my god, it's the old Aunt crew up that
went up the fingernail And you're like, wait, did I
literally what did I see this episode? And then you're like, nope,
Gray's anatomy. I'm telling you, these medical shows find an obscussion.
(13:32):
There must be like I don't know, maybe it's like
in Newsweek they talk about some weird thing and then
these writers are reading it and they both go back
to their writing rooms and do it. And you're like,
I do the same storyline on multiple medical shows about
random crap.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Maybe they have the same day by day obscure medical
disease calendars.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Something. Do you think Owen and who'sy are going to
stay together? This is a pivot, guys, We're talking about.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
This pivot and do this un scrubbing in and we're
not big fans of Owen Hunt, and I'm still not
a big fan of Owen Hunt, and I think he
messed up that whole situation. I am team Teddy. I
want her to do it best for her.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Really, I think I'm team Owen.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Really. Wow.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
I just feel like Teddy kind of kissed Sophia Bush
and then Owen kissed the other nice lady. I think
they did the same thing.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Well, but I mean it was kind of funny because
they're like, hey, let's try this out and she's like, oh,
I can't, Oh I don't want to. Oh I shoot,
and he's like, here we go. So I kind of
see Teddy's is that lady though? That's in the hospital
bed they went to the heart surgery that went, well,
why do I know each other from college or something?
Speaker 3 (14:36):
But why do I know her from something? Anyway, Let's
go back to Barry, all right.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
That's the parenthood the.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Storyline that I thought was funny to watch, but not
a very Tretdy Water is the Crosby Joel. We saw
it again.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
And by the way, it's I like it. How long
is this rehearsal is going to go on for this
show that's been it's been months, very long. I thought
it was a Christmas patch and that's January. They're still
doing it, aren't.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
They must be the end of the year thing mayde
they're working towards down there. Although I thought it was
funny when he goes everybody like do their loudest whisper,
yell or like Joel is good at this but boring storyline?
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Yeah, no, not a good one. It is nice to
Joel get his redemption.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I don't even know what to say about it. Was
there even anything else we're forgetting?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Like you had a nice psych apology moment at the
doorstep and Joel kind of messed with him Like that
was funny. I got to think about it, like that
was cute.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Did Julia even do anything in this episode other than
say like.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, Crosbie wouldn't talk to her at the office to
say hey I want and she and she's like I
picked my husband over you every time, which is true.
Yeah that's valid.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Yeah, but there was not kind of nothing burger.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, big nothing burger. But what about I mean the
date we should talk about the actual date. I mean
she went on a fake day with Amber, so she
lied to everybody. But then there was right, like candles
on the roof, and I love that stuff.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
The whole thing was like, Hello, Michael B. Jordan, you
could not be cooler. Wait, what movie were they watching now?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Sixteen Candles?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Oh my god, I feel like they even sort of
showed a little of it.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
By the way, speaking of gen X, it's our gen
X movies that the gen Zers are loving.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
First of all, I know sixteen Candles has some controversial
things in it, but guess what.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Sure great they all do my kids. Before I watched
Greece just so you know, this.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Is what controversial about Grease.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
The whole message of Greece is if you want to
land the guy, all you have to do is completely
abandon your personality.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
And we're super tight and the smoke smoke right, the
message right, It's not great that like Stockard Channing is
like semi pregnant, and I love it so much. By
the way, what was I watching the other day where
I'm like that person is so old playing a teenager?
Speaker 1 (16:57):
I don't remember we watched Its Club recently. Person of all,
it is a great movie, great movie, and it did.
I mean, some of it doesn't hold up, but a
lot of it does.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
But yeah, most of that is not that controversial.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
No, not really controversial. Some of it well.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
And the bad the principle is something's wrong with him.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Sure, he's got his own issues.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
He is not. That is not good. Do you know
what I'm thinking about?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Though?
Speaker 3 (17:18):
You know nobody wants this.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, I love it, yes.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
But they seem very old in like, Okay, here's true.
We are too old to be experiencing what they're experiencing.
You're right, Like I literally went and I was I
don't think I'm I did say this, but I'm not
allowed to review it yet, right, but I got a
(17:42):
sneak preview of the season two, so I've watched almost
all of the season two. Wow, will not review it
other than to say everybody should watch it, right, But
I literally was getting in the show and I'm like,
isn't Adam Brody and like Kristen Belt almost my age?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Because I had the same thought because I'm like, why
are they this old?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Old and acting thirty?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Right? It's like that was written for like twenty somethings,
but they were literally those two.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
So because like also like if you're Kristin Bell, would
you not be like completely panicking like, hey, bro we
better getting started on having kids? Yeah, like how old
is Kristin Bell? And right now?
Speaker 2 (18:22):
And I think I like, she's not even having kids
and like it's that and Annam Brody's forty five.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, it's interesting.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
That is like I literally was like like like I
don't know why suddenly season one it didn't really I
didn't think about it. But season two, I'm like, this
feels weird. It is weird, and like the amis like
and I don't know when you become a rabbi.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Right, but he's just now becoming Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Maybe they're playing thirty are we Maybe we're supposed to
just slid that and be like, Okay, they're playing thirty
year olds.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
They both could pass for younger. They're both very attractive.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
For sure. She is darling. She could not be so
she's so cute and.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
He is super cute.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Yeah, you know, let's go back to parenthood. I think
the other thing is like they're all playing their age.
I know who everybody, how old everybody is, and it's
all it's all good with me.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
It feels very lived in and real that's the beauty
of it.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
It does feel like I'm just watching like a docuseries.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
That's the thing about it. Yes, you'll never find a
more convincing teenager portrayal than Drew on that show.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Totally, and Amber and even Sydney.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yes, Sydney's very good.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Like brought tip of the hat to the casting person.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Yes, agreed. Now ad did Jordan by the way, sorry, amazing,
He's great phenomena.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Michael B. Jordan, you are so good.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
It ended with a montage and I am a sucker
for a good montage. And Jason Cadams.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I watched this like a week ago, so I'm trying
to remember them.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
That's funny you did this go to di But I
will say this this.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
I watch it on the weekends.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
It was Amber's song, the song that she performed at
the open mic night, and underneath that song, we did
a montage of painting the bedroom, and then we go
to the date, then we go to all these different places,
and I love a montage of just coming back. Everybody's
doing what everybody's going on. It's a great way.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
And they do a lot of montages and that they do,
and I'm fine with it.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Now, do you listen to the theme song the whole time?
I'm not going to lie. That's getting a little irritating.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
It's a little harsh for me.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, I think I would.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Have gone with a different song. Who sings that?
Speaker 1 (20:55):
That's Bob Don't We decided Bob Dylany.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Yeah, we talked about that. That's a little and I think, however,
I'm watching it. No, Skippy, it's not a possible choice. Yeah,
and it's a little jarring. No, do you want to know?
Do you want to know the theme song that I
simply I cannot listen to because it scares me so bad.
It scares me so bad and then I get an
(21:18):
earworm with it. So this I'm going to give you hints.
It is a creepy show. It is a creepy, creepy,
creepy show. It's a really good show, but it is
super creepy.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
It is.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
No but that theme song also could be bit during.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
It is a show.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
I bet you haven't watched it sounds sounds like it
so far.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
It's a one word show, I believe from the producers
of Lost. I can't even tell you who what, how
to watch? It because I watch it on like some
sort of streamer, but it stars Harold Paranow from Lost Lost.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Yeah, it is called I heard It's good. It's a
zombie show, right, it's.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Not exactly a zombie show, but they're basically zombies, but
it's not like they became zombies like The Walking Dead.
It's sort of a very.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Lost you like, Oh, I love Lost. I have that
on my list of shows to watch, and I've never
It's really.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Good, really really good, very creepy, perfect for October. Now
I'm in if I do not get to the skip
skip the theme song so fast enough, it's almost like.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
You're not going to sleep that well, no, because it's
so creepy.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
It's a song, you know, it's some song. It's like
a redo of a song we know, and people listening,
I guarantee you are like on the treadmill right now,
going correct if they've watched from it is so creepy.
And I don't even want to think about it because
I've managed to get it out of the brain and
I don't want it coming back.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Yeah, so awful A cover by the Pixies.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
Yeah, it's creepy, creepy, creepy, I.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Can't all right, I'm in on from I'm going to watky.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Is there any show that you wouldn't skip the intro?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
You don't usually do? I usually watch the first time
I watch a show, I watched the open intro, and
then at the end the last show, I watch it
out of just respect for the series, the seasons we've
gone through together.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
That is a very interesting habit. Now I'm going to
tell you something else, and it takes a almost set
of swear word. It takes a serious deep dive to
find it, because sometimes I go back to find it
and I'm like, how did I even find this? The
first time, many many years ago, there was some VH
one show for Mother's Day where celebrities were on it
(23:43):
honoring their mother. And I think I've talked about this
on some show somewhere one time. So this is the
second time. If you if you listen, if you want to, Okay,
So Robin Thick, as you know, is the son of
Alan Thick and Gloria Lauring. I think it's coming back
to me. I think I talked about this on nine
two one oh when Glory Luring was on the show
Sure and he was doing a tribute to his mother.
(24:07):
So he's at the piano with the audience and all
the flowers beautiful singing the songs that she wrote. So
she wrote the theme song with Alan Thick to different
Strokes and also facts Fife. It is the best, Like Hello,
Robin Thick released these versions like I would literally pay money.
(24:28):
He sings a version of different strokes. It's all like
slow and R and B and Robin Thinkey and facts
of Life. Oh and it's not on YouTube. I found
it somewhere else. You say, talk for a second, and
I'm just going to see if on some miracle I
can find it.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Well, I remember as well as a proud gen xer.
Well the world don't move to the beat of just
one draw? I know which he did for you? Correct?
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Correct now? Robin Thick sang the Growing Pains theme song
on Mass sing are also really good, but not even
as good Robin sit Thick. I'm googling Robin think singing
to his mom Different Strokes theme song.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
How those shows hold up today? Probably not well. But
we grew up in the glory days of theme songs.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
I know they don't really do them that I.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Really know, and I get I get why I get it.
It did not work.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Oh I found it, Okay, I think this is it.
You have to find it on daily Motion. I don't
even know what daily.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Motion fos on there before too. That is an obscure
place to find obscure videos.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
I don't know what it is, but I found it there.
So go to daily Motion and you kind of got
to just search Robin Thick tribute to Mom's VH one Okay,
and then get back to me, because I bet it's
a great question. All right, So let's give this I
would actually say, and you maybe led the witness on this.
This might be my lowest rated episode.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Yeah, nine even yeah, okay, I'm not going to go
into the eight a little higher than you, which is rare,
but yeah, I'm going nine point one. Next week, Season two,
episode thirteen, it's called opening Night. I am worried that
that's about the school play.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Feels like you might be right on that.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Yeah, I hope not. But we'll see.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
But I'll be fine. They're not. They won't it. We
might get the whole and maybe we'll get the whole
family in a scene together, which is.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Always always great, always fun, good talk, good talk talk.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
What do we say Braverman's Out, Hey everybody.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Thanks for listening for Braverman's Out Everybody, and don't forget.
