Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in again. Oh it's you.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Gilmore Girls Gazette with Amy Sugarman and Danielle Romo, an
iHeartRadio podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
We take you back to March first, twenty eleven, the
dawn of a new month, and we are about halfway
through Brad Womack's season of the Bachelor. For historical perspective,
this is an episode called Qualities and Difficulties and here
we go, which, by the way, Amy, we've done it.
This was a ten for me.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Oh wow, Okay, so I'm really happy to hear that
I'm giving it like a nine point eight.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
It made me cry three times.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
I have to go through it with you to see
if we're in line.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I also don't want to forget to give you a
not just a hot take, but a very very very
hot take on something that is parenthood related. Okay, but
I'll give that to you when the time is right.
I'll feel the moment.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
All right. Here's your synopsis. Adam and Christina find it
difficult to talk to Max about his Asperger syndrome and
come to doctor Pelican for guidance. Sarah revisits her relationship
with Mark Syr when she goes to see him for
help in her latest project. Elsewhere, Crosby attempts to mend
his relationship with Jasmine, while Julia and Joel prepare to
celebrate their eight year anniversary.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Okay, once again, sorry to skip a little bit to
the end, but Julia and Joel prove themselves to be
the best couple on the show. Yes, Soul is the
coolest guy ever, Roxy ever, definitely on the show like
they are the underfrated couple. They never got their flowers,
(01:59):
as the kids say, because they every time do the
right thing.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Basically they do, they do, and that is one of
my tiery moments. But we'll get to that. Let's start
with Adam and Christina try to explain Asperger's to Max
that Monica Potter was phenomenal in this scene.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
They're both great. My problem is that.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
They think they know when this expert expert is.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Telling them they lacked not they more.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Adam more Adam, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Lacked the ability to sort of go, I don't know
what I'm doing, this is happening, right.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Don't tell me how to talk to my own son.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Right, It's like, okay, but even even a parent, any parent,
sometimes needs help talking to their child.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
And this is extraordinarily complicated.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
So I felt like, okay, Adam, Although so I can't
wait to talk about the amusement park, which was clearly
Universal studios, but we'll talk about it.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Was it I was thinking of Magic Mountain, Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
I assume it's universal because it would have a lot
more juice to be able to shoot there. Somebody look
that up for us, and it looked like for me,
when you go down to where Jurassic is, there's those
few big roller coasters down there.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, that's what I thought. But somebody can.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Look that up, Jackie, Emma, maybe they can look that up.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So talk to me about what you thought about Christina
and Adam and the Doctor specifically.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, I Adam on major defense. Pelican suggests the redo
and then and then I thought it was really interesting. Well,
we got Zeke and Camille stopping by to talk about
the Crosby situation. So there's a lot going on. Like
we're just right out of the gate. It's so much
happening in this episode.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
When she's like and then I and then I cried,
and the Doctor's like you cried, and she's like I cried.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Like, first of all, I thought it was okay she cried,
But I love first of all, I love the guy
from ever Wood.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Who's the doctor just sort of trying so hard to
help them and they're so messy about it.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
But just the way she was holding back her tears
that entire that was just I just thought that was
top tier acting from her in that scene. Really.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
First of all, they're all so good, including Maas, like, yes,
oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
You forget he's not a kid with Asperger's you're really
to know, and that.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
He's so young and he's just an actor. It's just like,
how are these people doing that? This is the thing
about parenthood. These people are all on the top of
the game at all times, so you start to take
it for.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Grant you do. That's true, that's true.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I love the return of Jason Ritterer. But let's talk
about zeke Emil first.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Okay, so ze can Camilla come by for and it
turns into a big conflagration. Adam blames them for Crosby's
r responsibility and he storms out. You do his laundry,
you lend him money, You're the reason he's like this.
That was really powerful.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I also disagree, but okay.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I don't know that. I disagree he's the baby in
the family, Yes, but.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think they are.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I think they treat all their kids equally. And look,
it's sort of we're supposed to sort of get the
fact that two kids are sort of the perfect kids, yes,
and two are the ones that have had it tougher.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
And look like I just don't think that that has
to do with Tom. It's just the way it's going.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
True, But that begs the question about how much do
you baby the children that need that little extra help,
that don't have the motivation to go to law school
and whatever.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Isn't the birth order at Adam Sarah?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
You cut out? But I think you said did you say,
Adam Sarah Julia Crosby? Is that what you said?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah? Is that the birth order?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I think so?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Right, So you could say, okay, well, Julie is the
baby girl, but she's probably she's more successful than Adam.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Right, But birth order aside, some of those kids had
a harder time, and so how much do you give
into them? Like they let Sarah move back in, they
lend money when he needs it.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
I mean, okay, look, my argument is just that. Look,
Zeke and Camill treat each kid differently because each kid
is different. I don't think they're to blame for Crosby's
making a bad decision here.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
In my opinion, you have two brothers, right, yeah, and
that's it the three of you. Yeah, are you the
youngest middle? Oh? Interesting? Were you treated differently because you
were the girl?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Of course? But I'm not going to like deny that,
of course, Like.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Younger brother treated differently because he was a baby, of course,
yeah sure.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
But like I just also think that you are who
you are, so it's all connected, right, I do think
it all plays a part. But I think that if
Adam wanted his laundry done, I think they would do it.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Do you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
That's kind of my point. It's like I think that
they treat each kid the way each kid needs. You know, Look,
Adam's the oldest. It does seem like things fall on him,
you know.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
But Julie was the one who stepped up and found that.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Guy to help Zeek with, you know, her ex boyfriend.
It's like there's two and two. In my opinion, it
doesn't have anything to do with birth order or what
the parents did. It just that's how the way the
cookie crumpled.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, all right. So then Adam and Max getting ready
to go to school, and Max is being difficult. I
want my blue shoes and all this stuff. And then
it says, you know, what the hell with it, Let's
go to Galaxy Point Park and ride the velocirater yep.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Universal Studios And it was some broller cooks. That's what
I think, let us know does if you can find it.
I'm sure you can find.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
It struggling to find it, but maybe somebody even like
if you.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Just shoot search where did Parenthood shoot the amusement park scene?
Speaker 2 (07:54):
I feel like that comes all right.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
So then of course the ride breaks. Christine is already like, okay,
this is not a good idea, but whatever, and then
the velocity breaks down and we have a real problem.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
So here's my thing.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
I actually felt like Christina was wrong thinking it was
such a bad idea, because I think a lot.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Of kids could have had meltdowns at amusement barks. Now,
maybe not to that extent, yeah, but that would be.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Hard to take if your whole thing is excited about
this one thing and then you don't get it and
you're just simply a kid. I also thought that's something
that a dad might do.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
For any kid.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
On a day they decide to do it for whatever reason, that.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Max also should get that. I feel like, I guess
that's where I'm at.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
That it's like, don't not do something because of Max's
situation that you would do for Hattie per.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Se Right, Max isn't any kid though, the way he
thrives on routine, don't. It seemed like a bad idea
to me at the time. But maybe I'm just anticipating drama.
But it seems like this is a mistake.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
And you know, I think I lay on somewhere on
this might not go well.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
But try it. It's the same thing for me with
the trick or treating.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
They were so overly stressed and nervous about the trick
or treating and the treating. And yes, I think they
did practice and they told all the neighbors, but like,
ultimately it went fine.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Now, this is a TV show, so I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I don't want to speak out of school if this
was an actual situation.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
But I don't know, right, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
One thing I thought was cheesy and unrealistic, which is
not normal for parent, and that's why it stood out
to me. I thought the announcer at the roller coaster
was really cheesy and unrealistic. I have to remember what
he said, Sorry, everybody, the rides closed for the rest
of the day, Like you don't know that. It just
pulled into the station and they loaded up the next instantly,
(10:01):
that it's down for the day.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I did when they break and you're like stuck for
a second.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, you're stuck, and maybe it's gonna be twenty minutes,
half an hour. You stay in line for a bit,
so our producers.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Are saying it's like three minutes.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Oh yeah, sometimes it's nothing. Our producer is not very farm.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
You know.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
That was my initial thought. Okay, it's interesting you say that.
That was my initial thought, this is not very farm
because it looked like that's very farm. But then I thought,
why would they not shoot it. We're at universal since
their universal. But thank you for the correction. It was
not very farm. That was my original feeling, and I
went around my initial feeling and went in the wrong direction.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
So thank you producers who went deep on that one.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
They went yeah, and I appreciate it because we needed
to We did need to know, we needed to know
we did. I have been on a ride I think
one time at Disneyland where I think it was a
snow white ride where we actually had to walk early.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Wow, But it was no, we've had that. We got
we We were stuck on Small World once and boy,
there's nothing creepier than what is quiet.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
See. I was stuck on thunder Mountain.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
And it was in the incline like when you're going
up to that kV tunnel thing. That wasn't a great feeling.
I was not thrilled with that.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, I was not thrilled with that. Not thrilled.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
And then so Adam apologizes. Christine is very understanding. Adam
breaks down. That was me crying number one when Adam
broke down, and then and then she said to him,
you're a great dad, and that obviously hits home, yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Which which sometimes he is sometimes he is.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
And then they have the Pelican talk and Max asks
will I always have it? And that was tiers number two.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Yeah, Yeah, that was that was It was. That was
a lot.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I don't know if I read are definitely pat at
the end for me was the one, but we can
get to that.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, that was. They just do such a great job.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
For me, it was Julia Joel.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, and their and the parents shoes talking to Mac.
You would react to that situation, and boy, that was
really powerful.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Did we I don't even remember seeing Hattie this episode.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I don't think we did.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Did we see Amber?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I don't think we did.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Do you want to talk about Crosby or do you
want to talk about Sarah and Jason Ritterer?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
On my list? At Sarah and Jason Ridder And this
was really great. So cute by the way, Oh my.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
God, first of all, the shoving the thing under the door,
trying to get it, bast He's so cute, so cute,
even cuter Now I started watching Mattlock because of Jason Ritter. Yeah,
Jason Ritter's on it. Not the old Mattlock, the new Kathy.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Okay, it's good. I missed John Ridder. Every time I
see Jason Ridder, Oh.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
My gosh, I know, I know, I know, so sad.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
That's like he was in the Nicest Man Ever Club
with Henry Winkler and Ron Howard. Like it's just like
that threesome of niceness is crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
I liked his line this is kind of a dear
Diary day for me when he got that script. And
then Sarah's working the bar. She wants to be the manager.
She interviews to be the manager, but they're like, you don't.
You don't want to manage it.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
By the way, who would want to be the manager
when you get paid so much less?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
That was why does anybody take that job?
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah? And that was by the way. Brad Grunberg is
Louis Greg Grunberg's brother.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Wait, that's an amazing tidbit. How did you figure that out?
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I just looked him up because I was like, who
is this because he seemed familiar but not quite.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
First of all, we love Greg Grunberg, so for people
who something Greg Grenberg is like from Felicity and Alias
and yeah, yeah, so Greg Grenberg is also the nicest
guy on the planet.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
I had no idea he had an actor brother.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
I didn't either, but he does. And his name is Brad,
and that was him.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Brad was the one that Sarah was sitting there interviewing
with or whatever.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
He was Louis, So yeah, I think so.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
So I also throw a flag on the planet. I
think if you manage the bar, you might also be
a bartender. So that you're like getting your tips, and
to me, it's like that didn't track that the manager
makes the.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Least the grander thing of like Sarah, what are you doing?
You don't want to manage a bar the rest of
your life? Like they know she has better things for herself.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Totally, And I kind of love everything happening that Jason
Ritter really likes it. I love that they're sort of
connecting again, which you know comes throughout the series.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
So sweet. And I love when he scared her because
he didn't know what door to knock on because the
house is home.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Oh my god, it was like so funny. I actually
laughed out loud. I love everything about him.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
He was so perfectly cast for this part because he's
old enough, but he's young enough. He looks young enough,
he's cute enough, he's sweet enough. Everything is perfect.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
So he says it's more of a play. You need
to finish it, and he gives her book on playwriting.
Very sweet, wonderful.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
That's so cute. All right, So do you want my
hot hot take? Before we talk.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
About that was the time, Okay, scalding up.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Now you may not want to comment, but you're gonna
have to, so our friend Minka Kelly, who played Gabby Yes,
who was the impetus for Crosby's problems right now, got
herself into sort of some headlines this week.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Did you see them?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I did not? What's up with Menca?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Okay? So here is my question.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
So this goes into the not parenthood but celebrity stuff,
but we can still have an opinion. So Minka Kelly
was doing an interview on The Today Show with my
favorite Jenna Bush, right, I love Jenna Bush, and the.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Guest's co host was Olivia munt So.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
It is the best clip you have to watch because
the awkwardness is so level ten and yet.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
I love that Jenna Bush is just like dealing with it. Okay.
So basically, Minka Kelly posted this.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Instagram all about the Imagine Dragons guy she dates, like
she dates the guy from Imagine Dragons, and she kind
of was real just gushy over him, like really gushy.
Like maybe look it up so that you can see
because this was not just like happy birthday. It was
very very very sort of personal and she put.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
It out there.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
So then Jenna She's on the Today Show and Jenna
Bush asks about it, and Minka Kelly makes a face
that is so iconically how dare you?
Speaker 2 (17:03):
And it's so awkward to watch, Like I watched.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
It through twice maybe three times, and I can't The
awkwardness is massive.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
And then Jenna Bush just goes, oh, well, clearly you.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Don't want to talk about it, and then she says
something to the effect like, so.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Control room, don't roll the video it is.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
And then I kind of stopped watching, which I would
have liked to see. I should have let it keep
going to see if they come back from it. But
here is So this is where I want your opinion. Okay,
my opinion is if you are a celebrity and you
put something on your public Instagram, not your Finsta, not
your private Instagram that's only for your family, your public Instagram,
(17:51):
you are going to get asked about it, and no
correct and no reporter journalist should be quite so reprimanded
with the face.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
When you are asked.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
Now, look, you and I are in this business. We
booked your book guests for a living. I produce a
show with a host. I think that's all fair game.
Of course.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Now does Minka Kelly need to expand on it and
say more?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
No?
Speaker 3 (18:21):
But she shouldn't make the face, and she should say
she can say something like I know I was so
I can't believe I gushed so much on Instagram. I
maybe should keep things more private, like it's the face
for me that you need to watch. I need you
to watch it. Is there any chance you could just
watch it real quick? Tell me if the face?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
The face is so aggressive.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
And Jenna Bush just handling it like it made me
look Jenna Bush is even more because so many journalists
would get like awkward or weird, and Jenna just leans
in and she's like, oh, well, clearly you don't want
to talk about that.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Maybe don't roll the video, like just rolling with it.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Okay, I've got it running right now. I'm not sure
how far into the interview this happens, but okay, I've
got it on Mark.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
It's like towards the end, like are you watching the fall?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
And fifty six three fifty five? Oh thank you? Well,
look at you guys. We have excellent producers on this show.
Gil Mcgirl's Gazette.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
I know Jackie does it? Does the face happen? And
then Jennifu goes, Okay, you don't want to talk about it,
but then do they go to commercial. Olivia Mane kind
of just.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yeah, Olivia was in one of the Imagine Dragons videos,
so she tries to soften the blow.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
It's so awkward.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
I can see mark space and I don't make it
Kelly super private, and I'm kind of it's so awkward.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Is it not the most awkward thing?
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Yes, The look is kind of like a oh oh
oh you're going there, Oh oh, okay, oh this is happening. Okay.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
It's just that the face is like, so, how dare
you to me?
Speaker 3 (19:55):
When it's like, oh, my question is Formenka, why did
you put all that on your Instagram when you know
you're a celebrity who's going to do interviews?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
This again, it's very strange. Does she have a show?
Does she have a movie? Like? Why is she out
in the world right now? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:11):
What she She's got some holiday holiday movie, one of
those lifetimey, hallmarky Netflix e type deals. I think, or
and again, I just feel like it's the face, the
how dare you face? Well, It's like she could have
just been.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Like, oh, I don't know, I don't know if I
want to talk about it. I probably should have said
so much and then Olivia, mine can do her. I
was in an Imagine Dragons video. Aren't they great? Anyway?
Back to my movie, Like wow, I don't.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Know the face should become one of those gifts or
like how dare you?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Somebody needs to make that. I don't know how you
make that? Yeah, how dare you? Face? The it's just
so good.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
So anyway, this segues to Crosby and his situation.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Crosby confronts Jasmine at work. It does not go well,
don't talk to me, get away. He has a she is.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Just being way too gnar labor.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
I don't know that she is someone else.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
I understand, but they have a child.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
And let me tell you how many women I know
that have to deal with this exact situation and look
what you can do.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
She's just so escalated, right, and it's just escalating the situation.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
She can just say, hey, Crosby, we can totally talk
about the kid one hundred percent, and there will come
a time when we can talk about this, but I'm
not ready. It's the screaming and the ranting and the
ghetto and it's just like that's not to me.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
I get it. I get how hurt she is. She
can also say that.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Crosby, I am so hurt by this, I am so
angry by about this. I'm not able to communicate with
you about our relationship.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
That being said, we have a kid, We're going to
talk about that, you know, blah blah blah.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
And she can even say, Hey, Crosby, totally inappropriate for
you to show up I work if you need to
talk to me. You know, there's just a different way.
I think her ranting and raving is just like it's.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Not for me.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Well, sure, and if she had to addressed it more
in the moment, he wouldn't have crashed your dance class
later in the show, But correct, can we get to that?
He has a consultation with his sisters and then Adam
shows up. But I do like what all four siblings
are together. But Adam's like, I don't care that you're sorry,
You're not even on my radar.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
I mean, look, I don't know why I have as
much compassion for Adam and his situation as I do
for Crosby and his situation. Like there is a little
bit of Adam being like, well, my stuff's way more
important than yours, and it's like, no, Adam, your stuff's
more important to you. Crosby stuff is more important to him,
(22:40):
and bleep happens.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
So I don't know. That's kind of where I'm at.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
I think Crosby deserves like Camille and Zeke coming over
was kind of like the right thing. It's like, hey,
your brother's going through some real crap. You're going through
some real crap. Let's see if we can right.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Crosby's crap was self inflicted. Adams is not well.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
I disagree, Like, look, Adam's situation. Adam's situation is something
that was beyond his control, but the way he deals
with it is still in his control right, and his
mistakes are his mistakes, and what he does right is and.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
It's all his thing. So I look, I just think.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I think that everybody forgot that Crosby was being put
in a really weird, difficult situation by Jasmine, and that
has value, and he did he deal with it properly? No,
but he's sort of tried a couple of times. Look,
I put a little bit more on Jasmine than you are,
(23:46):
I'll say, And I'm not like Matt, Jasmine.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
I'm just saying, like it was a little weird what
was happening.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, I guess I just don't have a lot of
compassion for Crosby doing what he did. I think there,
you don't either.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I mean, I'm not saying that either, but I'm also saying, like,
what so everybody should just be mad at Crosby forever.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
It's just kind of like, wow, see that's not my mood,
that's not well.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Then he beats the crap out of a guy in
his boat and that was terrible.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
That was so terrible, so terrible, terrible, terrible. Yeah, now
I like Zeke being there to pick him up.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
It literally bails him out, exactly.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Yeah, that was where that I'm.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Not team I'm not team Crosby. I think Crosby is
kind of like a mess. But that's where I'm like,
no excuse, no excuse. And the drinking.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Drink right, he's spinning out for sure.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, I'm not a like I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
So then we have Sidney and the Jabbar sleepover, and
that's is she still looking to go what do we
think they called Jaz She's like, yes, please have him
come please exactly.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
That is the where Jasmine did one hundred percent the
right thing. Yes, I am team Jasmine on that one,
and I like that Julie and Joel were like sensitive
to it, but I think that like.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
You just say, hey, do you still want to have
Sydney sleepover? It's your call.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah, right, And they handled it beautifully. And this is
the Julia and Joel hero moment is when they come over,
Jason breaks down and they're like, boom done. Joel starts
playing with the kids, Julia.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Pizza, like the whole thing was so awesome, and I'm
like that it's not just family, but that's like.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Doing the right thing A million percent.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Yes, I was just like, they are my they are
my favorites.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I love them.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
They are wonderful. And then we get the beautiful song
Adele's to make you feel my love. And then Joel
says to Julia, I will never cheat on you, And
that is number three.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
I know, I know, I get chills. I didn't have
the tears for the first two like you did. But
everything Julia and Joel with Jasmine and then Joel Joel
is so evolved, and you know, for me, Joel is
super confident. That's why he's able to be the stay
(26:12):
at home death. That's why he's able to sort of
express when what he needs, and that's why he's able.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
To express this.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
He just that guy either was born that way or
has had a lot of therapy.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Because Joel is like, I don't know, he's just so
far perior to the other two men. Not Nanzi.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
I'll say he is better whatever the word better means, maybe,
is more evolved, whatever it is, more in touch with himself.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
He is I don't know what the word is. He
is a quote better guy.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
That's not better, but you know, whatever the word for sure.
And then during that montage, I thought, there's a beautiful moment.
Christine is reading the Max and he falls asleep and
she confirms he's asleep, and then she keeps reading, and
then Adam comes in so cute, beautiful, and to me,
it was all so great, beautiful.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Giving it a nine point eight, nine point eight, I
love that you're giving it.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
This is a ten. This one's a ten for me for.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Me, nine point eight, because I just there was something
that I feel in certain ones could be my own fault.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Maybe my whatever I was doing.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Was you know, yeah, because you're probably you're probably on
the conference calls while you're watching it.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
No, I don't do that. I don't, I will not
do that.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
But sometimes I am eating or folding laundry.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Yeah you can't. You know.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
What I thought about is that occasionally on rewatches you're
sort of like yeah, or like for us with work
when you have to watch something right. I never feel
that way about Paraisod so so good.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Absolutely one side note I had. At one point we
see Crosby and Juvar playing the game Sorry, which I
just want to say, is a fantastic, underrated board game
that because.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Shoots the ladders is brutal and so is Monopoly.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Correct, and my daughter and I play, Sorry.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
You still play? Sorry?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Still play? Sorry? Big fan?
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Did you ever play? I can't think of what it's called,
but you sunk By Battleship and we still have it
the electric version? Did you have that?
Speaker 1 (28:32):
One did? But I was jealous of the kids that
did have.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Oh my god, we had that and it was so
and you would like type in cute two or whatever
and then if.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
You hit bluey, that's cool?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Is that? Things still around? Okay? But the best game ever?
Speaker 3 (28:47):
And I did find it on eBay and bought it,
and then I was like it's so sketchy with eBay
because you're like, how many kids have sneezed on this?
You know, if you could just not It's one thing
if you buy a sweatshirt on eBay because you're like
wash that. A board game is tough because you're like,
kid's definitely thrown up on that. But it was called
(29:07):
so I gotta try and see if anybody can find
me Sale of the Century.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Oh, in package wrapped.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
I remember that.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
It was amazing.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
It had a buzzer, so like, this was the thing
that was so great about it.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
It had a center and then chords came out.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
So each person had their own dinger and you hit
the dinger and if you were first, yours would light up.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
So it was like an actual game show inger totally.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
The other game that I love love twenty five thousand
dollars Pyramid.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Maybe it was called one hundred thousand.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Dollars whatever the pyramid was, and you remember you'd have
to oh, my god, was that the one? Is it
the one where you're like car cat cash and then
you go whord just start with seat.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yes, those there's two rounds, but that's the bonus, that's
the final round. Yes, Oh my.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
God, can we please play that?
Speaker 1 (30:05):
I love that so fun? Can only be a list.
You cannot use prepositional phrases, or you're out.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Give me another example of how it worked.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Give me another one on pyramid.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah, give me like one and see if I can
get it.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Okay, all right, all right, let me think about this.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
This password was not as good.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
It was similar to password, but password was not as good.
Password was where you'd go like sugar, and then the
person would.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Go like Cain, right, right right.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
That one was not as good.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Here's a pyramid, category, a mountain, a ladder.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Things you have to climb. Yes, I freaking love that game,
like love.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
That's the most exciting. And now our branching out to
game shows. But that that game show is the most
exciting game show is Pyramid.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Oh my god. And it wasn't its celebrities too.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
It was like Betty White and like yes, And for
some reason, I'm seeing Burt Knvy, but I think he
was password.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
I think he was passed.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Clark hosted it, but Burt Convey was all over these shows.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Burt Convy was also the host of Password.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Yes, Super Password, you know uh read yeah, you know whatever.
I for convy with tattle Tales as well.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Oh my god, Tattletales.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
You know what one wasn't good Press your Luck because
it was just completely like we might as well just
watch people pull slot machines.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah, I agree. I never really got any Press your Luck.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
That was just not good, Like I'm just not going
to sit there and watch someone pull a slot machine.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
But it's still going, isn't it a game show? Networks
got their own deal with Press your Luck. They got
new episodes with you.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Yeah, and I thought I thought there was a bunch
of Press your Luck stuff coming, some documentary about or
some movie where some guy game beat it.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
I don't know, but I love that.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Yeah, which which is great and makes it more Are
just a slot machine?
Speaker 1 (32:02):
That's true?
Speaker 2 (32:04):
I don't know that.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Do you remember there was another one I was going
to ask about, But we'll just do game show.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Talk another day. But Sale of the Century was awesome.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Get the producers on that. We need that inbox and sealed.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, see if anybody can find it.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Find Sale of the Century on eBay, inbox sealed. Even
if it's one hundred dollars, I will pay it if
it's inbox sealed.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Next Week Episode nineteen of season two is called Taking
the Leap. Oh all right, talked to you, then Parenthood Out,
Braverman's Out, Oh Hey, everybody, don't forget.
