Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in again.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Oh, let's you Gilmore Girls Gazette with Amy Sugarman and
Danielle Romo, an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
This is a special edition, a special edition of the
Gilmore Girls Gazette because so we tape gazette it drops
like what does it drop, Jackie midnight or four am
or something on Wednesdays, So we tape it late in
the day on Tuesday so we can gather all the

(00:45):
news up so that it's you know, it's current as possible.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
But we all woke up this.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Morning to breaking Gilmore news and we were like, oh
my god, oh my god, oh my god. We got
to do a special edition so that we can talk
about this. So, for those that don't know, Lauren Graham
posted on her social that she is doing a book.
We don't have a lot of info with Amy Sherman Palladino.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
A Gilmore Girl's book. Is that basically what we know.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yes, and it's going to release not until fall twenty
twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Fall twenty twenty seven, Yeah, what isn't it only fall
twenty twenty five?

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, two years, but that's what they announced, and it's
an untitled book.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Two years.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
How long does the book normally take.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
It depends your process.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah, I think a book can take a year to
two years because you have to you get a deal,
then you write the book, then they have to edit
the book, then they have to make the book. But
I think some books can be done faster. But here's
my thing. So this is not what I thought it
would be because I was thinking, Oh, maybe this is like
their favorite pictures and like anecdotes.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
This sounds like this is going to be much more intense.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
It's going to take readers behind the curtain of Gilma Girls,
revealing how a small town dramedy with a mile a
minute dialogue becomes a cultural touchstone. According to sell It
on Books, who is publishing their book?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
What does that mean? Read that again? Read that again?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
To me, it will take readers behind the curtain of
Gilmore Girls, revealing how a small town dramedy with mile
a minute dialogue became a cultural touchstone.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
So I'm assuming it's a non fiction book.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah, I want to know who came to who with
the idea.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Oh, those two besties probably been trying to figure out
what they want to do next. Here's my thing. Maybe
it will be similar to the Michael J. Fox book
that we're so obsessed with. Basically, I wonder if he
gave them the idea because basically what he did was
wrote a book solely about Back to the Future.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Which became a culture you're all phenomenon.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
So maybe we're going to get a book like that
with stories and maybe the audible version will have interviews.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I feel like we're getting We're getting Future Boy, the
Gilmoart Girls version.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yes, like they're revisiting unforgettable moments from set, capturing the humor,
heart and alchemy that made the series an enduring classic.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Did you just pull that out of your head or
does it say that somewhere?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:24):
But oh read that again? Okay, re read that again
the release.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
This is all from the press release. I love how
publicist write like this.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
But anyways, right, I know they kind of used jargon.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Along the way. They revisit unforgettable moments from the set,
capturing the humor, heart and alchemy that has made the
series an enduring classic.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Now here's my question. So you're doing this book and
like Michael J.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Fox definitely was only positive, but like he goes there
about Crispin Glover sort of he he talks about how
he thinks Crispin Glover's genius, which Chrispin Glover was and is,
but he talks about how there was some tension between
I don't know if it was the Mechus or Gail
with him, or you know, Chrispin Glover would kind of

(04:12):
do his own version of things, and you know, and
that you know, we all know Chrispin Glover didn't want
to do the sequel and that is a whole mess.
But we will talk about that on listen if you
want to. But he's very positive. So I wonder if
they'll go there with things that weren't so rosy about
Gilmore girls, somebody that didn't get along, or maybe Lauren
will talk about those mystery men she dated.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Relationships.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Well, they talk about Alexis dating people on that like
it's like, because my thing.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Is, if you're gonna do it, do it, do it right.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
It's right.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, So I don't know that'll be interesting to see,
but it's not totally in her nature to do that,
So she'll figure out a Lauren brand way to do it,
I bet.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
But yeah, And they each sent out press releases about
each other and working together and I like Sherman Paladine.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I literally only saw her social Okay, can you read
me everything you got?

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Where'd you? How'd you get all.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
These press magazine?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Nice Jackie, nice, investigative journalism, really nice.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
You're taking our special edition breaking.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
News to a to a really you know, Hollyoomer reporter level.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
I'm very sorry.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Okay, hit me with your best shot, okay.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Sherman Palladino wrote this is her statement about writing the
book with Lauren Graham, which I thought was funny. She said,
I will jump at any chance to collaborate with Lauren
Graham on anything, be it a boozy Broad's lunch at
Joe Allen's or writing an actual book. The answer will
always be yes. I find myself Wanda pause.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
What is Joe Allen's. What is Joe Allen's And when
do we go there?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
It's in New York City, in Hell's Kitchen on forty
sixth Street. I literally just googled it with Emma.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Emma, can you add that to your list? When you
see chess? Could you go to Joe Allen's before or after?

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Oh my god?

Speaker 4 (06:00):
And we'll pay for the date. We'll pay for it.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
So iHeart will treat you to an appetizer in a
beverage at Joe Allen's and chess and you can bring
a friend.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
So apparently her and Amy probably go there often.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Ideally we want you to bring your grandma or grandpa,
but you can bring your boyfriend. We're not gonna We're
not going to insist, but we feel that it would
be more fun if you brought your grandma.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
And then this sentence was made me last.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Okay, wait, go back to right after Joe Allen because
I kind of got sidetracked.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Give it to me again.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Be it de Boozy Broad's lunch at Joe Allen's or
writing actual book. The answer will always be yes, got it.
I find myself wanting to be prematurely linked to her
side forever. Not sure if it's healthy for either of us,
but it's just the reality of the situation.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Great quote.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Okay, I usually find Chriss release quotes a waste of
my time, So now give me Laurence.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I'm thrilled to collaborate with Amy to bring readers all
of our stories of the special years we spent filming
Gilmagirls the first and the second time.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Okay, obviously, here's the thing. They're both writers.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
We know this, but I'm going to have to hand
it to Amy Sherman Palladino on writing a better quote.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Sorry, but come on.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It's totally her because when I watched when I when
I've seen Amy Sherm Palladino speak, it was before I
knew Gilma girls, so I didn't know the cadence and
everything like that. But now when I watched Amy Shermn
Paladio speak and give her speech at Long Grand Star ceremony,
I was like, Oh, there's Laura Lai and this this
statement is very.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Totally totally Now, I don't want to make this about me,
but I have a question. I don't want to make
this about me, but I'm going to just for this thing.
People say my emails sound like my voice. You guys
agree that I write emails in like a really weird

(07:51):
way that sounds like I'm talking.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Oh yes, thank you, thank you so much, thank you,
Yes you do.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Do we have any more information? And I'm a little
bit wowza that I have to wait till twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
I just have two comments.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
Yes. One of my comments is I would really appreciate
the good, bad and the ugly because.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Everyone's job and.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Work is Differentulia, so like, don't yeah, don't make it
seem like set in relationships for like all perfect. I
would love to hear it, and I think that there's
a way to write it in a way that doesn't.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Well an, they need to go there about they got
we got to hear about season seven?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, you have to go there? Yeah, season seven.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yes, I hope they're I hope they're listening because we're
giving some really.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Good notes right now.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
I agree, given some solid, solid notes.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
What's your second comment, Emma?

Speaker 6 (08:47):
My second comment is just in terms of like them
collaborating again. I would love to know about Lorelei's high
school experience and Emily Gilmour raising her.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Oh you oh you're wanting a prequel?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Fiction? Yeah, fiction prequel?

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Yeah, Okay, that's going to be a different book, Emma.
But I am not mad at it. Yeah, I'm not
mad at it.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
There's an episode dedicated to that in Gilmogrel's we haven't
gotten there yet, so you'll see.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
A bit of bit. Okay, Now, is anyone seeing a
t corresponding TV special with this book? I am for
some reason, I'm feeling like they're going to do a
bunch of interviews.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
With cast because it's not going to just be the
two of them.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
They're obviously going to talk to everybody, and they're going
to record those interviews, and it's going to turn into
a special.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I hope, so an approved special.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
I don't want to speak out of school, but I
don't think I think some people are none too happy
about that other documentary ex I'm getting that feeling.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
So Lauren Graham did take fans behind the scenes of
her twenty sixteen or more. It's noted here in the
People magazine article talking as fast as they can from
Gilmocrel's to Gilmocrel's. Suzanne and Tara have reviewed that book,
but they did. She did do some antidotes and talk
about that. Then that was released when the revival was released.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
All right, so maybe that was some bits and bobs,
but we're gonna get We're gonna get a keeper die.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
So all right, Well, here's what I'll say. This has
been a great special edition, really really good.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Yes, Like I don't want to say listen if you
want to, but listen if you want to, because this
is good stuff that's going on here.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
We should do more breaking news. Go more breaking news.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
We definitely should.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Well when they give us good nuggets like this, we
can't exactly.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
We're going to bring it to you all as fast
as we as fast as.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
We can, talking as fast as we can. Oh, my gosh,
can't you wat talking to the Lord em moly? And
al I can't?

Speaker 3 (10:35):
My mom?

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Okay, So I will end with this and we can
talk about this more.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
So.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
My mom's going to come on the eighteenth, and she
just watched her first ever episode of Wilmore Girls.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
We started with the pilot. We started with the piloteh.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
My god, and she loved it or what was her thought?

Speaker 3 (10:50):
She really liked it. She doesn't typically watch shows. She's
more like an HGTV news sports type person. So this
is like meaning dramas or drama tis.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
So, but she really liked it, really liked it.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
I had explained a few things, and I'm excited for
her to see the next one where she can really
see the town because remember they shot a lot of
that first one in Canada, so she wasn't totally getting
where she's going to be going.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Yeah, I'm excited to see her.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
She can't wait to see you guys. I know she
can't wait to see you guys.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I don't think i've ever met your mom.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
What, Jackie, that's crazy. Emma has known her for a
long time.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
But I'm excited for Emma to make sure her dad
does his homework assignment.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
Yeah, he's also excited about it. And you know who
got jealous, your mom, Whitney Markin.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Yeah, yeah, no doubt. I had a feeling she might.
But tell her to sit tight. We'll give her a
different homework assignment.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
There's a room for everybody. And that's the news. And
that's the news.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
