Speaker 1 (00:00):
I Am all in again. Oh that's just you.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I Am all in Town meeting with Suzanne French and
Tara suit An iHeartRadio podcast. Hey guys, welcome back to
another episode of I'm All in Town Meeting with myself
torn Suzanne. Hello, Hello, Today we're talking about season two,
episode fifteen, Lost and Found, which aired February twenty six,
two thousand and two. And weirdly, I just thought if

(00:39):
two thousand and two was a leap year or not.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Oh, no, I think it no, because two thousand was
a leap yeer.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh, how do you know that?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
I don't know. I just do. I always I always know.
I always pay kind of pay attention to that because
my birthday is February twenty eighth, and so yet you
know you were almost born on leapier. But the year
that I was born was not a leaper so no,
but that is also Kelly Bishop's birthday.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
By the way, the twenty ninth, or your birthday the
twenty eighth.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
She and I have the same birthday.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
That's that's a great fun fact.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yes, not that it ever gets me anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
But right now, but I share a birthday with with
Alicia Silverstone. Oh, that's cool, Okay's and then Gwen Stefani
is the day before me. Oh neat other than that's
not nothing like exciting.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
But you know, well, first I want to I want to.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I know we said that maybe we'd like refer to
some comments on our Instagram. So there were a lot
of comments about us saying, oh, the Dean red flag.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
You know, yes, we in the Basket episode.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
In the Basket episode specifically, I feel like we've been
saying it over and over again. But I think our
whole point of the red flags, or that it's building,
there's multiple flags over But you know, Susan and I
were talking off air real quick. Dean was really likable
in the beginning when he first met Rory, like he
was he was Rory's guy, and then the writers had

(02:16):
to like make him a red flag so that we
lean towards Jess.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Now, does Jests have red flags? Yeah, we can see
some of them in this episode.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
But the whole point is that they're gearing us to them,
like Jess, right, and poor Dean gets just kicked to
the curb.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah, they had to draw a contrast between the two
of them because otherwise they're kind of interchangeable, so they
had to really make us like one over the other.
So yeah, I mean we've talked about other red flags
in other episodes, So yeah, it was just kind of
something that was building over time.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Like for example, this episode Lost and Found, when he's
so annoyed with Rory going to the book fair and
going through one hundred books.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, like it's been two hours.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
That I think is definitely like, well, Jess would have
liked to go through the book fair for seven hours
with Rory, you know, like it's it's the contrast. So yeah,
that part I was like, Dean.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
You could just like puck her up, like go through
the books.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Well, and then when he saw the bracelet was missing,
he was like angry about it. It wasn't like, oh
you know, like yeah, I don't know. He just seemed
like the level of how upset he was with her
was disproportionate to just not having the bracelet on.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Well, my issue with that was also why lie. She
could have been like.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Like why the rash, Like she could have been like,
oh my god, it probably fell off in the shower,
It probably fell off somewhere at home.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I'll I'm gonna go find it.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
When I get home, right, Like, why not just tell
because now she's just Rory's just lies, right, so listen
and it fell off.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
That's not a lie, we just don't. She just doesn't
remember where, right.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
And I think later on when she's telling Laura I
about how the bracelet's gone, and she's like she comes
home and she's when Laura and Jess were eating lunch,
and she's all frantic. She was so she wasn't worried
as much about the bracelet as she was the Dean
was gonna be mad mad, Yeah, And that's that to me,

(04:29):
is the concerning part, Like she was more worried about
Dean being mad than she was that she lost the bracelet.
And and especially like we're gonna, I already know we're
gonna talk about this again in the next episode because
the next episode is really a problem. But it was
that was the thing for me, was how mad Dean

(04:51):
got about it and how upset she was like that
I think that's why she was lying, was because she
was afraid of what his reaction was gonna be. And
you know, just made a good point, like it's been
gone for two weeks and she just she didn't even
notice it.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Well, that's so I have a bracelet on right now,
and I keep this on at all times. If it
wasn't on my wrist, I probably wouldn't notice for maybe
ten minutes then I would realize it.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
So that's the other thing that wasn't like.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Very believable to me, as as someone who does wear
a bracelet. I mean in the shower it's always on,
I would notice it. It's been like you said, two weeks.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Yeah, yeah, and Dean didn't notice it in that two weeks.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
That's what I was gonna say. Next.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
I was like, well, I mean they do were a
lot of jackets and stuff, but like true, he was
wearing a jacket in the scene and he noticed it.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
So yeah, so.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, Dean. Lots of red flags.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
A couple of the clown Pillow had a guest starring role.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
It did, it did. I saw it early on, but
it was when edge, but then later it had it
was like the you know, another person in the room.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Literally it was when I think Laurel I opens the
door for Jess if I'm not mistaken, and it's on
a chair and the chair is facing towards the front door,
and it is just Loral and the clown pillow in
that scene, it was like so prominent.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
I was like, oh, we could have like turned the
chair a little, like, you know what I mean. It
was just really in your face. And then it showed
up again. I can't remember the second one. I just
remember I saw it again.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Yeah, I didn't write it down. I only wrote the
first one down. But yeah, it made a few appearances.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And then Maxine was in this as well, that cookie
jar that now we know her name thanks to everyone
in the conference.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
And I remembered I remember Maxine. Yeah, overall, I really
liked this episode. There's some good Luke rants in this episode.
So when he's watching TV on that little tiny TV
and yes, how long has it been away from its mother?

Speaker 1 (06:57):
That was by far the funniest line in the show
in this episode.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Well, hold hands and skip is pretty funny too.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Well, that's gooding too. It was a good episode. It
was a really really good episode.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh yeah, I thought it was a good episode.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I also like that he just bought he just spent
one hundred thousand dollars, like, well, it's your fault, Laura's like,
and he's like your voice in my head.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yes, yeah, that whole apartment scene where they were apartment
hunting and the realtor thought they were married, and yeah,
this I just thought the whole episode was funny.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I didn't buy that scene. That's actually the one scene
I didn't like. Yeah, because I.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Feel like, now, remind me where was the apartment they
were looking.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
It's in Star's Hollow somewhere.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
So that's my point. I wanted to make sure because
everyone knows each other and Stars Hollow, yeah, the real
litter probably is local and would know that Luke owns
a diner and that he's not married to Lorelai.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
That's true. I didn't even think about that, but you're right,
because I.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Was watching it and I was like, well, isn't isn't
this in stars Hollow? But then I second guessed myself,
thinking is it not in stars Hollow because she doesn't
know them and they was like out of town.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, I mean it is because she made one of
the selling points that Laurel I mentioned was that it
was close to work, so for Luke, so it was
close to the diner and Taylor owns it, so it's
not gonna be too far away. Yeah, that's a good point.
I didn't even think about that.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah, it was just like, it's not I mean, if
they were like if she was going if if it
was like the realtor was like, ain't on the joke.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I get it, but like she wasn't in on the joke.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
So yeah, that's true. Yeah, I just thought it was
funny how Laurela I was totally messing with him in here.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, also brand new. I didn't even know where that
set was that apartment.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, I don't know either. I was trying to figure
it out, like that triangle window. I was trying to
forget that might be bit and it could have just
been on a sound stage and probably.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, I want to talk about Jess.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I have a couple thoughts on Jess. I actually I
did appreciate that both he and Laurla made an effort
with each other. So I did appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I listen to Rory after she talked to him, so
I you know, he took a note.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Right, So that was good. I really don't like the
whole bracelet thing. I see it come up in debates.
Did just steal the bracelet or did he not steal
the bracelet? And to me, I don't know. I want
to hear what you think too. To me, if you

(09:42):
if somebody drops an object and you find it and
you know who it belongs to, but you keep it anyway,
to me, that's stealing.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yes, Like if I see.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Somebody walking down the street and their wallet falls out
of their purse, I'm not going to pick up their
wallet and keep it. I'm gonna say, hey, you dropped this.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, So I guess I see both sides of it,
because I don't think that he stole it to keep
for his own possession, in his own possession forever.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I think. And this this is really me reading my
romance novels side of my head of it. It is
very common for.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Someone to want to leave something behind so you can
see them again. So I can't remember what movie it was,
but someone like left a watch and it was like
on purpose because they're like, oh, I left my watch
at your house, you know. So my thought was and
this is like such a stretch, like hear me out,
I think it was more to have in his back

(10:46):
pocket to then be the hero in Rory's Lost Your Bracelet,
because maybe like, hey, I think you dropped this, or
a reason to see her again. I don't think he
wanted to keep it for the rest of his life
and be like, oh, I have her Ory's bracelet.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I think it was like a COI to be like, oh, well, either.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
I'm gonna be the hero and I found the bracelet
once she finally realizes, or I want a reason to
find see her again, so I'm gonna call her and say, hey,
I think you dropped your bracelet.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
But with the way it played out, it was.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Like a panic mode and he didn't want to be like, oh,
I found this two weeks ago, so he just like
miraculously put it under her bed and she found it herself.
I don't think that was his plan, but picking up
and taking something and keeping it to yourself is stealing
in my head. Yeah, if we're talking like literally, but
I think just thinking in Jess's brain a little bit,

(11:42):
if I can dive in, I think he had a
plan for it.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. That could be for sure.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
I just didn't the one thing I didn't like about
this episode and like, I don't have an issue with it,
it just like I just wonder if it could be
worked out differently.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
I don't really like and this might be a hot to.
I don't know. I don't like how involved Rory.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Sorry, I don't like how involved Laura I is in.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
The Jess and Rory of it all. Like is she
being a mom?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yes, I think she can tell her daughter what to
do and what not to do. I think that final
conversation of stepping in and going up to Jess and
being like, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
This and that, I don't think she get that involved.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yeah, unless something big happens, but like nothing really happens,
except I do think it's weird that he was in
her room, Like if someone's working on your house and
there in your kids room, that's creepy. Yeah, But I
don't think she needed to like call out like you
put the bracelet in you and Rory and what's going
on and this and that?

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Right? And I feel like I feel like that bedroom
thing might have been the key, Like if she hadn't
seen him in there, yeah, you probably would not have
confronted him like that at the end.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
No, but she was waiting to confront him.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, I mean it is weird. Well, she she has
these weird involvements anyways, Like in the Basket episode where
she was like trying to mediate between D and three. Yep,
and yeah, I agree, this is where that line kind
of is blurry between parent and friend and child.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Yeah, and listen if because Rory is what a senior
now in high school.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
This is season two, so she's a junior.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
She's junior.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I feel like if it was freshman year, sophomore year, sure,
I get it. Once you had junior and senior year,
you're like seventeen eighteen. Yeah, I think it's just a
little I don't know.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah, but I think she's reacting to her her dislike
of Jess because she knows he's a bad boy and
she doesn't want Rory, her good girl Rory, to get
mixed up with him. And I think that's she's just
reacting to that knee jerk reaction that she doesn't like Jess.

(14:06):
But yeah, she she needed to not get involved in that.
And you know, like with teenagers, the more you tell
them not to do something that makes them.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Want to do more. Oh yeah, So I think.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
She's got to be careful about, you know, getting Rory
mad and maybe pushing her in the other direction. I
did like that she called Rory out and when Rory
was like you need to make more of an effort,
and she's like, why do you care so much?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Like that? I did like that she But that's what
I'm saying between between mother daughter.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
I think that's okay.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
I think it was more of like going to Jess
and also then in the basket episode going to or
Dean coming to her and having that conversation.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
It's like, it's not your kid.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
This is so off topic.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
But I had in my notes did you see when
Luke was in the U in Dozies, did you see
that thaileanyl cold or that thaileanyl sinus is going two
for a dollar fifty?

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I wrote that down on my list because you know,
pharmacist here. I noticed things like that thileol two for
a dollar fifty. Thailenol has probably not been priced that
low since like nineteen seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well, also, they were not even like one like you
know how sometimes you can get like the travel like
little No, they were full size.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yeah, they were like regular size boxes and the combo
products are even more so. It was one of them
was the thailoan all cold, and the other one, I
forget what it was, thilanol total. Yeah, it was Thailand
all PM and Thailan sinus, which both have multiple ingredients,
and those are usually even more expensive. Like back then,
those were probably five or six dollars a box. There

(15:49):
was no way two thousand and two or fifty eight.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yeah, it was so funny because I literally had to
rewind and watch that scene again because I wasn't listening
to the conversation. I like saying, They're like, huh, the
telling I'll sinus is a dollar fifty for two? What
kind of deal is this? I'd stock up on the
whole damn.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Thing, right, I know. I don't even use tailant all
that much.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I had Oh my note, Sorry, So that's like before
I forget. It was so funny.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
One thing I did notice, and this is just I
don't know, some people don't like this kind of detail,
but I'm gonna say it anyways.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Okay, on.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
The scene where Jess and Luke come out of the
apartment that they had looked at, they come down a
flight of stairs and they come out and then they're walking.
They're walking towards Weston's Bakery. If you look in the background,
you can see part of the set.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
From er Oh my god, really, there's.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
That there was the so you know, outside of Er
they had the train track like the the L. Because
they're in Chicago they have the L.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Weirdly, I never watched R, but I've been on the
I've been on the back lot tours, so I know
what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
So yeah, so you can see in the background is
that train It's it's fake because it yeah fake back
what Yeah, but you can see that in the background
when they're walking down the street.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
And then that's so funny.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Another fun fact is that that particular building they obviously
took the train thing down because not R's gone, but
that building is the facade of Abbott Elementary Now, so.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yes, okay, yeah, it makes that show. Yeah, so funny.
I would have never noticed that.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
I just thought it was weird because I was like,
what is that red thing? And then I looked closer
and it's like a rusty It's like the rusty train.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Watching this back with you and doing these every week,
I find myself the one thing that pisses me off.
I don't know why, I'm just sick of seeing it
is that damn picture by a lord realized door with
like the girl I'm so sick of seeing that.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Picture yellow pants yellow. Like ever since, like doing this
rewatch with you, I noticed things. I'm like, God, can
we change a picture by the door.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Apparently that's a famous painting I've seen somebody was it.
Somebody has has looked it up and posted the name.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Like I kind of wish it was a picture of
Lorele and Rory.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yeah, that'd be cool. Yeah, like a photograph.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, but I'm like, why why that girl?

Speaker 3 (18:28):
And it moves around too sometimes it shows up over
by the stairs.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, Oh so funny, good times.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
The only other thing I had was we had a
different Caesar in Oh yeah it was, which is funny
because Robert Lee was walking around in the background. I
saw him a couple of times. But yeah, we had that.
We had a different Caesar, and his pancakes aren't very good. Apparently.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
I did think it was hilarious when Luke just grabs
the ammer and goes and hits the wall and he's like,
here you go the sledgehammer.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Yes, that was great.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
That was a great ending with the music. What was it?
What a wonderful world?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yeah, but it was it was something before that.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
No, there was two songs there was one song.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Wasn't it like violent Fems or something? Shoot, I should
have written that.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I don't know, but it was two different songs because
the one where he's sleeping and then yeah, Luke gets mad,
that's a different song.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
I didn't know that song, but it was the what
a Wonderful World?

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Like the rock version at the end when he like
hit and I also like that, he just like throws
it a jets and he's like, here, it's your room
to the rest of the work. But I have to say,
as someone who is like a clean freak, I would.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Lose my mind.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Yeah if I lived with someone like that.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Oh yeah, I have just having like that little trail
to walk through drive me insane.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Also, how because didn't Jess come with like one back?

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Well, they said Liz had sent all his stuff.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Oh missed that part.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Yeah, because when Laurla went up there to find Luke
to make the pancakes, she's like, what happened here? And
he said, Liz sent the rest of his stop.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I was so stressed about all the items. I missed
the reasons the items there.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
He said, Liz sent the rest of his stuff, and
he finally unpacked it. But you know what I noticed
and I can't I think I noticed it before this episode,
but it was clearer in this episode was when Rachel
was living there briefly, there was a bathroom there, so
they moved the bathroom before they did the remodel because hmm.

(20:41):
In this episode, the bathroom was over by the bed
because we see Jess coming out after he was in
there for two hours fixing his hair, right, and where
Luke put the sledgehammer through the wall, there was a
bathroom there when Rachel was there because that's where she
had all her photographs hanging.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
I actually don't remember the layout of Luke's part.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
They use the bathroom. And then one other thing I noticed,
speaking of things moving in Luke's apartment, that weird mounted
fake shark. It was on so there's like a there's
like a it's like a small it looks like a shark,
but it's small, and it was mounted like on a plaque,

(21:22):
you know, like people catch things and oh yeah, yeah,
kind of kind of gross, but some people like that.
And it was on one wall in the beginning of
the episode, and then it was on a different wall
in the end of the episode.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
It's funny. I mean with all the crap everywhere.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Yeah, I know, maybe yeah, maybe it fell down and
they just.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Just put it back up.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
But the next episode we're watching is season two, episode sixteen.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
There's the rub.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Yeah, there there's a lot in this next episode.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I don't remember what. I don't know the title, what
what is it?

Speaker 3 (22:05):
So this episode, there's the two main things. It's Loralai
and Emily go to the Spa. Oh and then while
they're at the spa is when Rory wants to have
her alone time and everybody shows up. So Paris shows up,
and Jess shows up, and Dean shows up.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
I remember the spa more than anything of that episode.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah, there's a lot happening in the next episode.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
It's funny the more as we go on, and like
there's so many episodes, right, I realize I'm not great
with the titles of the episode knowing what it is,
because probably because when I watch on Netflix, it's like,
well keep going, I actually like sit and like read them.

things like that, I would know.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
