Speaker 1 (00:00):
I Am all in.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, let's you. I am all in with Scott Patterson
an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Everybody Scott Patterson, I Am all In Podcast Pop Culture,
Season six, Episode twenty super Cool Party People, Which all
of us are? You know you love us? We've got
Suzanne French ready to party, Danielle Romer really ready to party,
Tera sud always partying, so she's never not partying, and uh,

(00:42):
any Sugarman, why don't you start us off? I'd love
to because you are probably one of the more prominent
Northern California super cool party people that are.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Thank you super Cool party People as a reference to
the two thousand and two film twenty four Hour Party People.
Twenty four Hour People is a British biographical comedy drama
film about Manchester's popular music community from nineteen seventy six
to nineteen ninety two, and specifically about Factory Records. I've

(01:11):
never heard of any of that. I've never heard of
the movie. I've never heard about a British biographical comedy.
I've never heard of Manchester's popular music community.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Oh god, Manchester scene or Factory Records ooge music scene.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Did you know the opening scene in which Tony Wilson,
played by Steve Coogan, goes hang gliding for an item
on his original Granada news program Really Happened. Furthermore, original
Granada footage showing the real Tony Wilson in some distress
has been spliced into this scene. I didn't know that
because I've never heard of any of this.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Their alright, Larele's suit here in the kitchen, rehashing Larele's
drunken evening. LURLEI says, so what do it?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
So?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Now, what did I do in front of the camera?
Suki says, well, you spotted the videographer and suddenly very
excited to film your audition tape for America's Next Top Model.
Laura I says, oh my god, I thought that was
a dream. America's Next Top Model is a reality TV
series where a number of aspiring models compete for the
title of America's Next Top Model and chance to begin

(02:18):
their career in the modeling industry. And did you know?
In season ten, the girls left the Tribeca loft where
they were staying in quite a mess, and they were
accused of causing five hundred thousand dollars in damage to
the six million dollars lost floor. The floors were apparently destroyed,
and there was ketchup splattering all over the walls, and the.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Trapes sang those models white ketchup.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I know why ketchup? That's what I'm like, China. Yeah,
what were they eating?

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Luke asked Laurlai about her hangover after hearing about it
from Miss Patty. Luke says, I hear you really belted
it out. Laura says, belted it out Eddless Love. Miss
Patty says the song, honey, Laura I says, oh yeah,
oh yes, I really belted it out. Is there any
other way to sing endless Love? You know, if you're

(03:10):
not going to really belt it out, you might as
well stay in your seat. Endless Love is a song
written by Lionel Ritchie and originally recorded as a duet
between Richie and singer actress Diana Ross. Did you Know?
The song was covered by Luther Vandross with Mariah Carey,
and also by country music singer should Ia Twain.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
With Lionel Shania did It with Lionel Wow.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
In that same scene, Luke walks away from the counter,
leading Miss Patty and Larel. Miss Patty says Okay, I've
already gotten the whole town. I've already gotten to the
whole town, and they're all telling the endless love story
he'll never know. Laura says, oh thanks, I owe you, Patty.
Miss Patty says, oh honey, please, I've given them more
drunk and toast than Colin Farrell. You owe me nothing,

(03:55):
oh man. Colin Ferrell is an Irish actor. He is
best known for Minority Reports with the Recruit Total Recall
in Swat, and more recently nominated for an Oscar for
the Banshees of Inisheran. Did you know? On his left finger,
above the knuckle, he has the name Millie tattooed. Milly
was a nickname for his former girlfriend, Amelia Warner. Amelia

(04:16):
is now married to Jamie Dornan. That's why you never
tatoo names on your body.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
No, it's a curse line up forever.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Logan is awake at the hospital, joking with Rory about
his condition. Rory, You're gonna be fine. You're gonna make
a full recovery. Logan, Hey, RoboCop made a full recovery.
Look where that led him? Yeah? Yeah. RoboCop is a
nineteen eighty seven action film starring Peter Weller, who had
just met at a comic con, as a terminally wounded

(04:44):
cop who returns to the force as a powerful cyborg.
Very watchable film. By the way, did you know In
nineteen eighty seven Sacramento, California, a robbery suspect fled half
naked into a showing of RoboCop in order to escape
the police. Became so engrossed in the movie that he

(05:05):
failed to notice police had evacuated. It wasn't until the
lights were turned on that the stunned man was taken
into custody. That is what you call an engrossing film.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Anna is at the diner telling Luke he got rave
chaperone reviews for the Trip. April said you were the
least embarrassing parent on the trip.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Good.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
That's good, right, it's a rave. Her friends call you Hagrid.
Really Hagrid.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
I don't know what that means. He's a character from
Harry Potter. Very big, very Harry, very lovable. It's a
huge compliment. Rubus Hagribus. I've never seen the movie Rubius Hagrid.
Actually I think I saw one of them. Rubius Hagrid
is one of the most beloved characters. Now I say beloved,
but some people say beloved. I say beloved either or okay,

(06:05):
tomatoo tomatow. He's beloved and beloved characters in the Harry
Potter universe. He is the keeper of keys while also
looking after the grounds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Rubius is portrayed by Robbie Coltrane and was the very
first person to be cast in Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone in two thousand and one. In fact, he
was selected for the role of Hagrid by Harry Potter

(06:26):
author JK. Rowling and only took the role after his
children urged him to do so.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
He is a great character.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
I love Harry Potter so much.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
There's a girl on TikTok right now who's reading the
entire series for the first time and she knows nothing,
and her reactions, I mean, I feel like, Danielle, you'd
be the only one who appreciates this. But her reactions
is like, we all know what happens, yeah, And she's
like unveiling things for the first time, as like in
full tears. On TikTok, it's really funny. Does I throw
that out there.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Aha, we have twa suits.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
So Luke thanks Lorelai at the beauty shop for the
makeover party idea. Lorai says, well, thirteen year old girls
in makeup, it's like betting on Secretariat. Luke says, never
in a million years what I have thought of something
like this. Lorelai says, That's why I'm the yin t
your yang that eMac to your Bowlio, Hey, who wants
hoppink highlights?

Speaker 6 (07:21):
So.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Secretariat is also known as Big Red, is an American
racehorse who is considered by many to be the greatest
racehorse of all time. eMac and Bolio is an East
Coast ice cream chain based in Boston. And did you
know secretariat Mania was so high right before the final
leg of the Triple Crown He was on the cover

(07:42):
of Sports Illustrated, Time, and Newsweek magazine, all in the
same week. After his victory, demands for his time grew
so great that his owners hired William Morris Agency to
overseas public appearances, making him the rare horse with a
Hollywood agent. Secretariat's nineteen seventy three record time of two

(08:04):
minutes and twenty four seconds at the Belmont stakes still
stands today.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
Wow Impresso, all right, April's birthday party is back at
the diner After Laurel I brought the girls to the
salon for makeovers, Laura I says, Marcia, fabulous, you look
like Sophia Lorenn.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Marcia says I was going for.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
Vanessa Manilo on Manilo on MTV. Oh my God, and
Laura says, oh, I love her music. Sophia Lurn is
a legendary film star who won an Academy Award for
Best Actress for her role in Two Women and best
known for her roles in Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Vanessa
Lache formerly Manilo, is a TV host, model, and actress.

(08:42):
She was named Miss Teen USA in nineteen ninety eight.
She was a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and hosted Total
Requests Live on MTV and currently hosts Love Is Blind
on Netflix with her husband Nick Lache. Did you know
that Vanessa Lache shares the same birthdate with husband Nick
lachet fascinating? And also did you know Sophia Laren is

(09:06):
the godmother of Drew Barrymore?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
What I did not know that?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I miss TRL?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I know it's the best he's a come home after school,
turn it on always.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Lare Lay is drawing a purple heart on April's face,
and April says, purple. I'm obsessed with purple, probably because
I'm obsessed with Harold and the Purple Crayon, Laurla says,
m April goes, I know I'm too old, but it's
still one of my all time favorite books. Harold and
the Purple Crayon is a book by Crockett Johnson about
a curious four year old boy who, with his purple crayon,

(09:41):
has the power to create a world of his own
simply by drawing it. Did you know? Harold and the
Purple Crayon will be adapted into a live action film
slated to release August second of this year. The film
stars Zachary Levi, lil Rel Howie, and Zoey Deschanel.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
I didn't know any of that. That was you.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Then introduce me here, Scott the movie projector Pretty Pink
for April slumber Party. Kirk, the movie is all ready
to go, Laura, Okay, thanks to Kirk. Kirk, I just
needed back for the Weinstein retirement party. Mel Weinstein is
a nut for John Hughes' films. Gee, just a bad choice.

(10:30):
I think of of last names.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I didn't hear mel and I was like, what is
going on with I thought I heard uh. John Hughes
was a film director, producer, screenwriter. He's best known for
The Breakfast Club, sixteen Candles, Farris Bueller's Day Off. Did
you know? He notoriously cut off contact with his favorite
young performers, Molly Ringwalted Anthony Michael Hall after they rejected

(10:58):
some of his scripts in the mid eighties. When he
died in two thousand and nine, Hughes hadn't spoken to
either of either of them for over twenty years. Anthony
Michael Hall famously turned down the role of Ducky in
Pretty and Pink.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
That's in the same scene. That's very sad.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
In the same scene, Kirk walks away and Lurlai introduces
the movie she's about to play.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
I'm sorry, who's talking right now?

Speaker 2 (11:27):
I am Amy? Oh?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Amy?

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Should go all.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Right, girls, you're about to meet someone very special to me.
Her name is Molly Ringwold. Now I know you don't
know who that is, but suffice it to say she
is my generation's Audrey Hepburn. And I know you don't
know who that is either, but trust me, you're gonna
have her. And yes, that is the guy from two
and a half Men. Enjoy, all right, Enjoy. Molly Ringwold
is an American actress best known for The Breakfast Club,
sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink And I think she's

(11:53):
currently in the Ryan Murphy wan thing with Demi Moore.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Did you know she turned down the Julia Roberts role
in Pretty Woman and the Demi Moore role in Ghost
WHOA Wow? Yeah, Audrey Hepburn, she did not turn down
the role of four Keeps in the teen movie. That
was not that great. She should have probably taken Pretty Woman.
Audrey Hepburn is a British actress best known for Roman Holiday,

(12:22):
Breakfast at Tiffany's and My Fair Lady. Did you know
her famous little black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's designed
by Hubert Day Davin ga Vinci. I'm assuming he's Gavinci,
was sold at Christie's for nine hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
I don't think it's Gavinci.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Givoni.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Oh I'm sorry, God.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
I'm so tacky.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Hubert day, Gavinci.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Pardon me, I'm reading it, Hubi Herbert, now that I'm fence.
Two and a half Men is a TV sitcom that
originally aired on CBS for twelve seasons from twenty three
to twenty fifteen, originally starring Charlie Sheen opposite John Cryer

(13:09):
and Angus T. Jones. Lorilai is referring to John Cryer,
who played Ducky in Pretty in Pink and the best
scene is when he comes into the record store and
he kind of dances around.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
It's so good and he doesn't pronounce it she anymore?

Speaker 2 (13:22):
She did?

Speaker 6 (13:24):
You know?

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Charlie Sheen became the highest paed actor on TV in
a comedy in two thousand and eight, when he reportedly
got three hundred thousand per episode. By twenty eleven, that
had risen to one point eight million dollars an episode.
He was fired after making a series of controversial statements
about Chuck Loriie, the show's creator. And you even imagine

(13:45):
remember when he was like, what was it that he said?
He was so like, remember what was god?

Speaker 1 (13:49):
What did he say?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Winning? He kept saying winning?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
But what was the whole dispuit over? What was that?

Speaker 7 (13:56):
Over.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Was it nothing? He just was off the rails winning,
and then he just was like, but he wanted.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
To work West or something, or to say in the casts.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
I don't think he one point eight million for episodes
insane crazy? Is there anyone who? I guess we have
to look it up.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
He owned twelve percent of that show too. No way,
Oh yeah, I know the story.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
I know the.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Yeah riches.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, yeah, I never was like, I never watched that much.
Two and a half Man. I think I've seen it
from time to time.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
I don't think I've ever seen it.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, I wasn't like I.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Didn't even see I didn't see One and a half
Man or two men.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
What's my favorite Charlie?

Speaker 1 (14:38):
You know what's going on? Anyway?

Speaker 2 (14:40):
My favorite Charlie Sheen movie Lucas maybe Lucas. What else?
Those baseball ones?

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Oh? The major League?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Oh, he's in Faris Bueller's Day Off. Though he has
a classic couple scenes in that maybe only one.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Scene going so fast, I can't pup with you.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Sometimes life moves pretty fast, it.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Does, man, you gotta be ready for it. With Scotty
Peas big Mug coffee, thank you.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
That is quick pop culture for some reason, this episode
filled seemed filled with pop culture, but that went quickly.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Okay, kids, that's going to do it. Thanks ladies, Tar, Danielle,
Susanne and Amy. We will see you next time. Thanks
for downloading, and stay safe everybody, everybody, and don't forget.
