Speaker 1 (00:00):
I am all in all less you.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Stars Hollow Style with Eastern Allen, an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hey everybody, it's Eastern Allen. It's Stars Hollow Style. That's right.
Here's what we're doing here. Okay. We are going through
Gilmore Girls from episode one and we are focusing on
our favorite outfits, the fashion, the clothes, the best, the worst,
everything in between.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
And this week.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You know, normally I'm just sitting here yapping at myself
in the dark, just mumbling to myself, and that's been
a lot of fun. But I thought I'd bring a
new friend on this week. I am here with Melissa.
She is known on Instagram as at ten percent Caffeine.

(01:02):
not regret it. Melissa, thank you so much for joining
me this week.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, thank you so much for having me. I'm excited
to be here.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
So I found your account a few weeks ago. I
was we like to when I find an outfit that
jumps out at me on this show, I like to
try and figure out, like where can I buy the
real thing? Where can I get a dupe? I found
your account because I was looking for that tiger stripe
shirt I think it's theory that Loreli's wearing in The
Deer Hunter's a season one episode for and I started

(01:32):
scrolling her through your account and I'm like, oh my god,
this woman has like this. She's found like everything, Like
you have found so many Gilmore Girls.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Like pieces and like not just like dupes.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
You found the real thing, like like the same thing
that they're wearing in the show.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
It's incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
How have you How long have you been a Gilmore
Girls fan?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
First of all, well, I started watching the show. I
was the same age as Rory when it started, so
it was kind of of like I grew up with
with Rory and Laura Lai and uh started watching from
day one.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
And what did the clothes like? Have you always been
like into clothes and into fashion and that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like grew up making clothes for
like barbies, and I actually went to school for apparel design. O.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Hey you're qualified.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah yeah, It's not what I ended up doing, but
that's what I went to school for.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
So I love it. Do you remember the first outfit
you saw in Gilmore Girls, where were like I want
to wear that, Like that's something I want to find.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
That's a great question. I actually think it was the
the cheetah shirt that Laura I wears and sees it
an episode four, Yes, which we do have as well
accompl it. Yeah, but I do have it.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Okay, I don't want you to give away your trade secrets,
but I'm just so curious about your process because, like
I mean, people listening the show, they know I am
a clueless man.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I'm called blind. I don't even know what color these
things are.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I did download an app last week. I don't even
know color of these things are. I'm so clueless. I'm
so unqualified to be doing this show. But I've been
trying to figure out like like when I see stuff
that interests me or that I just want to know
what it is, it takes me so so much effort
to figure out what it is, and like I'm curious,
like how how did you figure out that was a theory? Sure?

(03:22):
Like that tiger stripe one, Like what's your process there?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
This is maybe gonna be a somewhat unsatisfying answer, but
some of it really comes down to like just plain luck.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
But that one was one that I've been searching for
for like quite some time, and my process for that
was just reverse image searching really until until it finally
popped up, Like in June, I think I finally got
it on thread up that was the brand, and I
bought it on there and then got a notification that

(03:54):
they couldn't find it.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Oh my god, I handled it, and.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Then that happened three more times, and then finally in August,
I think I finally got it.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
So when you find these, and again it's at ten
percent caffeine, you should really follow her. It's so great
when you find these, are they almost Is it always
like online? Like is the eBay, thread up, deep Hop
that kind of thing?

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Or sometimes yeah, I actually have a few pieces, Like
there's a custo I'm also not sure if you're how
to say this custo Barcelona crusto. A couple of weeks ago,
I was like I don't know either. On that at
like a random thrift store in downtown Seattle like ten
years ago.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And then my the New York shirt that I have
that has that is like a pretty classic Lorelei shirt
from season two. That's Dultangabana. I found that at a
random thirst store here.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
How exciting?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, yeah, was that to find it just on the
shelf or like on the rack, Like, well.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
It's so funny because I like the Custo Barcelona one.
I was walking around the thrift store and I was like,
I saw it and I was like, this looks so familiar.
I know it's something. So I picked it up because
I was like, I know it's from something, and it'll
hit me. And then as I was like getting ready
to check out us, like it's from Gilmore Girls, duh,
Like I can't. I don't know why I couldn't place it,
but it was so funny. But it's like, it's so exciting.

(05:17):
When I found a dultang Obana one, it was like
incredible or it's d Andng I think, not Dultanglemana. But
it was like so exciting because I think that's like
a very coveted one.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Oh yeah, absolutely, I know I know which one you're
talking about. Is there is there like a do you
have like a white whale like that you're looking for?
Is there a certain piece from Gilmore Girls that has
eluded your grasp at this point?

Speaker 3 (05:40):
There I mean, there are a few. I think there's
a pink sweater with a flower on it that Rory
wears in season two that I would like love to have.
There are a few other pieces that I just I
for some reason, none of them are coming to me now,
But there's there are so many. Yeah, every time I

(06:01):
try to think of one, I just like it's all
of them pop in.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah, it's it's just again, it's so like impressive that
you've been able to find this many because like a
lot of the pieces they wear like they're so unique,
but they're not, Like it's not just there's not like
you don't know right off the top.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
You can't look at it and be.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Like, oh, that's a that's a Reformation shirty, you know
something like that. You really have to like know what
you're looking at and know what you're looking for.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Is there do you have a fit? Okay, this is
a weird question.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
There's again a lot of crazy outfits on cumber Girls.
Do you have like a favorite, like lore light outfit
that you would never wear yourself, but you just love
it when she wears it? That comes to mind.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
I feel like there aren't anything that I wouldn't wear myself.
There are something that she has that I'm like, I
don't like that. Like there's one I can't remember what
episode it is that there's one where she wears this
like suit jacket that I just really I'm not a
fan of. And there are some kind of crazy ones.
But there's nothing that I love that I want and I'm.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Where I love it.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
I mean, I'm the same way I'd love it too.
The crazier the better. This is so much fun. So
Melissa again at ten percent caffeine, go follow her, you guys,
come on, what's wrong with you? She watched season one,
episode eight, which is what we're going to talk about
this week. This is love and Warren Snow. This is
a huge episode. This is the ice Smell Snow episode.

(07:24):
You guys, this is huge. We're going to go through
the outfits of this episode again. This is we're just
talking before we started recording here. There are so many
good Gilmore outfits in this episode. We lucked out big
time here. Before we do that, though, we got to
take a little break. I'm gonna play some drums and
then you're gonna hear commercials. Okay, it is stars hollow style.

(07:55):
My name is easton Allen, I'm hanging out with my
new friend Melissa at ten percent Caffeine. She is a
Gilmore fashion aficionado. She is a bounty hunter when it
comes to the things you've seen on Gilmore Girls, hunts
them down all over this these great United States. Finds
them in nooks and crannies, the thrift shops, and on
websites like thread Up, which has been a sponsor of

(08:18):
this show in the past. We're going to break down
Love and Warren Snow. This episode had so many great costumes,
and I'm not just talking about the outfits. I'm talking
full blown costumes, like marching band costumes and like Civil
War reenactors. Okay, so Caroline B. Marx once again costume

(08:39):
designer on this episode. But before we get into everything,
we got to go to the very beginning here. They
start off at a town meeting. They're talking about the
battle Stars. Hollow Taylor's got that I talked about last week,
that great sweater, that really cozy sweat. I know that's
like a mainstay for him. Do you like wearing you
live in on the East Coast, do you like wearing
those like big chunky sweaters? Oh?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah, yeah, definitely not a whole bunch of them.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
They're so I'm in southern California, I get to wear
those things like two weeks out of the entire year.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
But but they look so cozy. I love Taylor's.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Sweater in this opening opening town meeting. Miss Patty's wearing
that leopard print shawl looks so.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Cool, so fun, so fun she is.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
I've not talked about Miss Patty enough on this show,
but she has some really wild fits as well, and
I love I love everything she she's I mean, she's
such a big personality. She needs the wardrobe to match it.
You know, Laura I's wearing that famous Sherpa jacket that
she wears, that Sherpa coat.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Do you okay? Have you hunted that down?

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Do you know what that is?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
That was actually in my last post?

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Oh my god, wait a.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Uh And guys, if you're fall if you get on
Instagram and fall at ten percent caffeine, you can see
this stuff too. Yes, she does have the jacket in
her last post. Oh my goodness, look at that. Let's
see is it?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
It's Earl Jean talking a lot about Earl Jean last week.
Earl Jean's huge in Gilmore girls. Wow, look at that.
You've got the whole fit there.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
I thought wild shirt. That was I think your worst
outfit of the episode.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Which is right, the tied I like rhyanstone thing. Yes,
you found that too. Oh my goodness. Okay, wait a
quick detour before we get back. And I know that
was the last episode. How did you find this? How
did you find this tied? I rhinstone abomination?

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Great question. I had a like eBay search query for
rhinestone tied I like years and years ago, and I
found in a different color.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Well, I've had the other color for several years now,
and then I literally a week ago got that one.
Like I just found it. I checked a deep hop
at three am and it was just there. I'm done. Serious.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Wow, That's something I love about like thrifting in this
kind of thing is how much of it. It's so
exciting because it really is like finding like gold in
a in a hill. You know, it's it's so much
of it is like luck and timing. It's incredible. Do
you use any like do you use any like automation
or anything like for your No?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I mean, I if there is one, please tell me
about it.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I just use like all the in app search queries.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Wow, uh, okay, really quick, I'm going to Uh this
was years ago. But on Parks and rec the character
John Ralphieo, there's an episode where he's wearing it's where
he has an inkle bracelet and I can't remember why,
but uh, he's he's on house arrest or something, but
he is wearing these like Hawaiian print Nikes, and I

(11:44):
loved them. I thought they were so rad, and so
I just put there. There was a website.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I don't know if it's around anymore.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
There's a website called I F T T it's if
this then that, And I was through that website. I
set up a thing where every day, three times a day,
it would search eBay for Hawaiian print Nike and it
would email me the results and I did. After like
six months or nine months, I got him and I
was so happy with it. But and again this was

(12:13):
like fifteen years ago, so or ten years ago. I
just feel like, you know, if you're technologically inclined, you
can be uh, you can make these things work for
you too. But wow, I can't believe you found this tied.
I Ryanstone. Sure, this is incredible, but let's get back
to Uh, let's get back to seasone, episode eight, Love
and Warren snow also in this town meeting something that

(12:33):
jumped out at me.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Luke looks so good in these early episodes.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Oh my god, He's wearing like a blue flannel and
a vest and he's got his sleeves rolled up, and
he looked really good in the vest. But I was
thinking of, like, do Luke's forearms ever get cold? Is
he has to have them exposed all the time he's
wearing the vest too. He's like, no, no, no, I only
cold my chest.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Hey, he's got the layers on, he's got lots of lairs,
but his arms are are perfectly fine.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, but I love seeing him in the vest. He
looks so good.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
And again that those flannel, I know you mostly you
do a lot of the Rory Loralai looks. Have you
ever have you ever thought about trying to hunt down
some of Luke's Luke's flannel?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
No, I haven't, but I actually really I was looking
at his episode has closed in this episode, and I
was like, I actually like everything that he's wearing in
this and I was like I maybe I should start
looking for it. I do also look for like Lane
in Paris as well. Oh yes, maybe I'll have to
start adding some of the guys to this.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Please please, as a male fan of yours, I would
love that, right, all right, great, let's look forward to
some Luke posts on at ten percent caffeine.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
So again, the time meeting's great.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
And then in the middle of the night, Laurli goes
downstairs to welcome the wind and take a deep breath
and smell the snow. I'm curious on your thoughts on
what she on her like red orange? Okay, how would
you describe that shirt she's wearing. It's almost like a
baseball tea, Like.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah, a baseball tea or raglin with rhinestones along the
shoulder seam.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I saw that, I was like, oh man, this woman
has so many rhinestones.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
What's going on with this war trope?

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Very y two k coulden for sure?

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yes, absolutely, yeah, it's I mean, I know those are
her pajamas basically, but it's a so many rhinestones. I
thought it was a kind of cute shirt I saw
on your Instagram story earlier. You noticed the creepy clown pillow.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I did not a big fan of that. Someone messaged
me and was like, how have you never noticed that before?
And I was like, I really have no idea, but
I have it, and I really wish I hadn't.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Well, Wild, welcome to the fandom.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
You will not unsee it.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Now. I'm going to look for it in every scene
going forward.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
It's yeah, it's there. It does not it does not leave.
So yeah, LORLEI smells the snow again. She's wearing this
rhinestone thing. And then that's red and orange. Right, would
you say that shirt she's wearing.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I think so, yeah, yeah, okay, it's like a reddish yeah,
red and orange. I have not found that one, but
I am looking for it, so I'll let you know
if I do.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Oh right, I'm excited to see that. So now we're
gonna go to Rory and Lane. They're walking to walking
to the bus stop. Rory being a classically bad friend here,
just ignoring Lane talking about her boyfriend. And Rory's were
in this really cute stripes scarf that is a fan favorite.
I know a lot of people try to There's like

(15:42):
a lot of patterns and like knitting instructions on how
to make this scarf, but I wasn't able to find
like a replica of it or anything like that. Are
do you look for the scarves? Is that something that's
like harder or easier? They can be.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Hard I have I've mostly found like there are a
few that I've found replicas of. I haven't found one
of this one either, Like I think there's one that
they both wear at some point in season one that
someone had made a replica of and had it on
Poshmark and I was trying to find it and can't again,
so I don't.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Know and when one quick detour, Okay, so take me
through the digital like again, I'm like, I don't sure
you have to give away your trade secrets too much,
but like some of the digital like nooks and crannies,
you look for these like like eBay, Poshmark, thread up,
what else am I missing here?

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Deep Hop and Etsy occasionally will come through and surprise me.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
I'd say I don't really use these two as much,
but Vented and vest are both are good for like international,
like if you're an international person like not in the US,
those are great ones. I think most places are not
shipping to the US right now. So not great but
not I keep fighting stuff and I'm like, not, they're
not available here Solummer, but if you live anywhere else,

(17:07):
there's there's a few good ones.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Out there, all right.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
That's it's good tips for anyone else fashion hunting for
for Gilmore Girls stuff. So Rory wearing that cool striped scarf.
Laane is in her full marching band regalia. She looks
like she's stepping out of Sergeant Pepper as as as
a character mentioned. For some reason, she has to wear
that for the entire school day. I feel so bad

(17:31):
for her.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Kind was perplexed by that because it's like the full
She's got the hat and everything. I was like before school,
like she didn't even have to have it on yet
you can.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
You can't take the hat off and have it under
your arm, like just to be in full. It's just
be ready to march at any point. I guess that
the entire day she has had attention. Uh, but I
love seeing like I just love a costume like that,
we said at the beginning of the episode, but I
love a costume.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
That was great to see.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
It looks cool, it's great colors, just very fun there
and we're gonna get more into Lane has some good
fashion in this episode. A bit later on too, but
that night it is snowing and we get to see
the reenactors for the Battle of Stars Hollow More great costumes.
We got the Revolutionary War like reenactors. They got the

(18:20):
high boots and the tri corner hat. It look great,
it's so cool. And then Laurali enters and this is
you know, I want your take on this because you're
you're a lifelong Gilmore Girls fan. I mean you are
there from the beginning. If you like, look up Laura
like Gilmour in the dictionary. Do you think it's this

(18:41):
outfit that she's wearing.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Yes, I do, Like for the most part, this is
I think what comes up when you search Laura Gilmore.
For sure this coat and scarf, and I think I
also had never noticed the snowflakes on that hot before.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
But yes, oh my god. Okay, so everyone listening, close
your eyes, think about Laura like Gilmore. You will see
this image. The it's like a I think it's black.
It's either black or like dark navy. Maybe nitthat little
snowflakes on it. I hadn't noticed that either till this
rewatch it's so cute. And then a light blue, big

(19:16):
light blue scarf, cable nit scarf. It's that is the look,
that is the Laura like Gilmour look that scarf is.
There's a lot of like similar ones out there. The
closest one I was able to find today is from
a website called the sweater Shop and it is a
sweatershop dot com that's one hundred percent wool. Here's the

(19:39):
thing though, it's it's an Irish website. This is coming
from Ireland. It's twenty five euros. That's about thirty bucks American.
I don't know if you can get it shipped here.
It's probably if you can, it's gonna be really expensive.
I don't know if you even can though, as we
were saying earlier, but you can find other cable knit
scarves like this, and like we were saying, there's a
lot of like Etsy pattern you can get if you're

(20:01):
knitting inclined.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Do you do you know how to knit? Melissa?

Speaker 3 (20:04):
I do not, unfortunately, something I've always like thought about
trying to learn, but and especially these scarves make me
want to learn. But I'm just notation for it.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I I used to I haven't knit in a long time.
I did know at one point. Yeah, when I was
in high school, I thought I thought it'd be like
really like, oh, it would be cool and funny if
like I knit, And then like I got really into
it and I would knit in class and stuff like that.
But I only learned how to make scarves. I could
never do hats. That's a hard yeah. But this is
this is such a good look. I love it.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
I just love this.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Uh this Laurel I look, especially in the snow. It's
so it's just great. It's like, this is what we
love about Gilmore Girls and her her coat she's wearing
like like a black Oh.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
I love that coat. It's a great one.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
It's great.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
It's it's a I mean, it looks so cozy and
it like it really makes the scarf pop, which I
love because that's I mean, that's like the that's the.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Piece that everybody notices. But it's a great coat, Melissa.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
We have so much more to get into on this episode,
but before that, we got to take a quick break.
I'm sorry they're telling me we got to do it.
It starts hollow style. My name is Easton Allen. Thank
you so much for hanging out with us. We were

(21:22):
talking about the outfits, the fashions, the clothes of season one,
episode eight, Love and War and Snow. I'm hanging out
with my friend Melissa at ten percent Caffeine on Instagram.
She is a Gilmore Girls fashion expert. She has hunted
down some of the most elusive pieces from this show.

(21:42):
I love watching season one and seeing like the birth
of some of these looks that are like become so
iconic throughout the series. So we're going to fast forward
a bit. Rory and Lane talking on the phone. Lane
understandably upset, but she's got She's worn this before in
the series, and I mentioned a couple of episodes ago,
but she's wearing this. I learned it's called a fair

(22:05):
Isle sweater. Yes, yes, you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
It's like it's like green with this like frosty design
on like the shoulders and the chest, and I mean,
I don't know how better to describe it, but like
it's like almost like it looks like it's like Norwegian
or something like that.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
I think I was looking. I was trying to I
know I knew this one at some point, and I
cannot remember what brand it is, but I think on
there's someone had posted on Reddit asking about it and
they just it was people were describing as a Norwegian
kind of thing. But also Rory wore it in an
episode too.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Okay, that's where I remembered that. Yes, so okay, And
it's the same one, right, the same one.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah. I mean there's another you like outfit sharing between
Rory and Lane, or like there's a I think a
shirt that like lor Laion Lane both both end up
wearing at some point.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Okay, I always wonder when that happens.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Like I first of all, I love it.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
There's a lot of like repeating pieces in this show,
which I think makes it feel so real and so
lived in. It's not like like Sex and the City,
Like they wear something different every single episode and it's like,
you know, that's cool, but also like not really how
real life is. I like this because it's like that
sweater got left you know, I don't know who bought

(23:26):
it originally, but it just ended up at like Rory's house.
Rory and LORLEI like probably wore it. Now Lane's wearing it.
It's like a sister who of the traveling sweater and
there's a lot of stuff like that in this show. Yeah,
it's a it's a great Uh, that's a great sweater,
and I feel like we're gonna see more of it.
I looked at I couldn't find this exact one, but
there's a lot that are similar out there. I think

(23:46):
if you if you search like fair Isle sweater, you
can find something similar.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
It's a really it's it's it's great.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
And then uh, the rest of the episode, you know,
it's uh, Laurai goes on her date with with Max
Mendina and she Laura's got the she wears the you know,
she wears the scarf and the coat and she's got
that like kind of like light blue like shirt thing.
It's very cute, but like it also doesn't like jump

(24:14):
out at me.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Yeah, it's funny. I feel like that one also gets
worn in several episodes, but it is one that's like
just a very basic Plane Plaine sweater shirt.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah, yeah, it's you know, Laura, like that's kind of
like her vibe she has.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
She has a lot of those kind of shirts.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
But yeah, just kind of I don't know, my brain
I think is so now like looking for the crazy
Lora stuff that like when she's wearing something like reasonable
and like snooze. Okay, but there's there's one thing at
the very end of the episode I want to I
want to talk about, but before we get there, is
there anything I missed? Is there any outfit that, like
when you're watching it, jumped out at you.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
One thing that I did notice in this one that
I really had never noticed when watching it before is
Emily's outfit is extremely casual, Like we don't do her
in pants. She's just got like a very low key
like I don't know if she was planning on wearing
that to Friday night dinner or if the snow derailed
her so she kept it cappy, but I thought it

(25:14):
was it was an interesting look for Emily.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Yes, that's right.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
I love I've loved all of Emily's looks so far
in the season. And something I really like about this
show is that they seem I think those choices are
deliberate and because I mean, yeah, the the chef, the
chef for that week can't get there, so they have
to like do a frozen pizza and it's just like, yeah,

(25:41):
more casual kind of low key situation, which would be
reflected in her wardrobe. I think that's a really interesting observation, Melissa.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
It's great, it's great. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
And you know, Richard, of course still wearing the bow tie,
but he's you know, he's got one mode, right Yeah.
Uh So at the very end of this episode, we
we get to see the return of the Paul Frank pajamas.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I I love those pajamas.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
We saw them.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I can't remember the episode now, but we saw them
in the one where it's it's a Laura like it's
first day at Chilton. Yea, and yeah, that famous see. Okay,
we were talking earlier, like, if you look up Laura,
like Gilmore in the dictionary, what outfit is you're wearing? Uh,
I think it's it's it's either this one with the
light blue scarf. I think for some people it might

(26:29):
be the like tied I with the denim shorts.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I think, yeah, that's I think it's one of those two,
which is funny because there's such polar opposite looks.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yes, yes, exactly, but like that does come to mind
for a lot of people when they think of her.
But I was a big I loved Paul. I didn't
I never owned any Paul Frank. But I loved I
loved it, like when it was like at its peak.
I just thought it was a cool I like the logo,
like that little monkey, and I like seeing those pajamas
on Laura Lie. Okay, so let's go through and pick

(27:06):
our favorite outfit for the episode. I mean, I think
it's clear, right, I think it has to be. Yeah,
it has to be the Paul Frank pajamas. No, I'm
just kidding. It's it's the It's Laura LA's outfit with
the snowflake hat in the in this the light blue scarf.
I mean, what an iconic outfits. So fun seeing that
on screen. It's so fun hearing or say I smell snow.

(27:29):
It's just like, you know, these classic Gilmore moments. I
love reliving them in season one. This was a I
thought this was a great episode for costumes. I think
we really lucked out here. Melissa again at ten percent Caffeine,
Thank you so much for joining me here on Star's
Hollow style.

of your posts planned out already, Like, is there anything
you can tease for us?

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Come on, yes, But I am wildly disorganized for someone
who is doing this. I feel like everyone else has
like spreadsheets and really is on top of it and
I'm not. But I do have a few things that
I am like mentally trying to prepare for.

Speaker 1 (28:22):

either the fashion or just the show. Like I have
some OC and I think Buffy stuff on there so far?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
All right, Yeah, I mean that's always something I meant
to ask you, actually, like, what other shows do you
look for fashions from?

Speaker 2 (28:57):
So but Buffy, OC anything else?

Speaker 3 (29:01):
What else? I am There are a few things from
Parks and rec that I either have or I am
looking for. I have a couple of things from Parenthood.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
As well, all right, we love parenthood.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
