safe from the fashion police from me. We're gonna talk
about every single outfit and we're gonna find out where.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Some of them come from.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
How you can get these outfits, these classic looks it's
all great. We're starting with season one, episode one. Okay,
I'm just kidding. We're not going back to the beginning again. No, no, no,
We're making our way through season one.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Baby.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Here's where we start today this week, Season one, episode thirteen,
Concert Interruptus. You remember this episode, right, they go see
the Bengals, the Bengals guest star. How fun is that?
This episode?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
My god, you guys, this is a this is an
outfit episode.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
There is so much I sat down thinking like, oh,
I'm gonna I'm gonna breeze through this one. No, no, no,
there is so much to talk about, and it's all weird.
I mean, the main premise of this episode that there's
gonna be a a rummage sale that Lorala is hosting
or organizing, and so that opens itself up to many
(02:07):
weird clothing choices that Loura Gilmour makes. And she is
the one we're going to be talking about the most here,
As is the case, she is the star of the show.
But man, she dresses crazy. We come in hot, fresh
out of the gates. Laura I is cleaning out her
(02:30):
closet with Rory's help. I am so grateful for this
I feel like Laura, I should have just thrown everything away,
gotten rid of everything. We've talked before about how much
I love Laura's housework outfits. When she is working on
the house, when she is trying to fix something, when
she's cleaning out stuff. Her outfits are wild and I
(02:52):
enjoy them in not good way, but I do enjoy them.
This is no different. She's cleaning out her closet. This
is what she's wearing, folks. Queue it up on on
your Netflix app. Season one, episode thirteen. It's right at
the beginning there, she's wearing this American flag longsleeve shirt
that's like, I don't want to say it's cutting so,
(03:13):
but it's like this weird Frankenstein shirt. It's the front
part is split vertically down the middle two different shades
of blue.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Maybe me one of them.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Is like a like a very deep burgundy red. I
have problems with colors. We've discussed this, but it's like
a red and blue like split in half down the middle,
and then patches of American flags, like a patch of
the stripes, a patch of the stars. And then on
the back is a totally different pattern. It's like a
(03:47):
star pattern on the back of the shirt, and then
she's wearing a ryanstoned Paisley bandana around her hair.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's this season.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
This is this is a season of louralized bandana his
in hair head wraps. She wears a lot of them,
and they all have ryanstones.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
It's very fun.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
But Rory grateful graciously asks to help clean out some
drawers and says, if you wouldn't want to be caught
in a car crash wearing this, let's just throw it out.
Good advice, girl, good advice. Clearly she doesn't take it,
but that is what's happening. So we hear the theme song,
the Gilmore Girl's theme song, and then Rory and Lane
(04:28):
are kind of we're trying to organize the chaos in
the house with all this stuff being donated for this
rummage sale. Luke shows up. We never have any complaints
from Luke, not yet anyway. Luke is always dressed to
the nines in Luke's style. He's always wearing a great
variation of the Luke uniform. This time we got to
see him in a military jacket. That was really fun.
(04:50):
I enjoy these little glimpses into Luke's life. He's wearing
like a faded blue T shirt underneath it his signature
blue dark blue ball cap backwards. Really enjoy seeing Luke
in this moment. So then we fast forward to Luke's.
Rory and Lane are trying to get permission for Lane
(05:12):
to come to the Bengals concert. They all meet up
at Luke's. Luke is wearing this cool like it's like
a Gingham long sleeve shirt, a nice little variation on
his typical flannel, and it looks great. And then oh
my god, Loralai comes in another it's just a hit
parade over here, another wild fit. This is an old timer. Okay,
(05:34):
I know that, Like the the textbook bad Loralai outfit
is the dropping her off at Shelton, the like the
denim shorts and the like, and the I think it
was a tight I shirt. This one is up there,
this one is up there, sheet laurel and then this
is supposed to be crazy. Okay, so this isn't like
I don't want to blame Laurelai too much, because this
(05:55):
is the point is that she's wearing like wild stuff
that people keep donating.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
So it's not like she thought this was a classy outfit.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
But she comes into Luke's wearing a zip up hoodie
that's got like rhyinstones on it. Of course, it's like
tight eye. I couldn't tell if it was camo or
tied eye at first. It's like a tight eye, like
a green and kind of blue thing. It also kind
of had like leopard print almost. It was this really
(06:24):
interesting tidye pattern bedazzled Ryanstone like characters on the front.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I couldnot make out what they were.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
It was so it's such a weird There's some kind
of word or hidden message or code on the front
of this hoodie, and then she's pairing it with a
leopard print cowboy hat. Luke loses it when he sees
her in this outfit, and I was like, good, this
is this is wild. But he's mad about the sweatshirt.
That's what's really upsetting him. Belonged to an X of his.
(06:53):
He is very upset that Laura's wearing it. He wants
to know where she got it to take it off.
It's not yours. Take it off, it is not your, Laura.
L like this sweatshirt also shows up and I want
to shout out Reddit user van a Lux on the
Gilmore Girls Reddit who pointed this out. It shows up
and Charmed. This is this exact sweater is in Charmed too,
(07:16):
Season three, episode twelve, Phoebe's wearing it. I went through
and watched this part and it's It's true. Charmed was
the same. I mean this is the same year. These
episodes both aired in two thousand and one. So Charmed
sharing the wardrobe of Gilmore Girls. I'm excited to see
if this happens again. But it was crazy to see
(07:38):
that sweatshirt show up in another TV universe. It's such
a wild sweatshirt. I couldn't believe it. So yeah, I
mean yeah, this this fit here is just like it's
just out of this world. Later on at the Gilmore House,
we we get to cease, we get to talk about
(07:59):
some fashions from our friends at Chilton Paris and her
little crew, and they evoke a different little trio to
me that we are going to get into after these drums. Hey, everybody,
(08:25):
it is Easton Allen. This is stars Hollow Style on
the I Am all In podcast network, the overarching land
where you can get everything Gilmore Girls related, and we're
talking about the style of Season one, episode thirteen, Concert
interrupt us. We are seeing the Bengals, but before we
go to the concert, Paris, Madeline and Louise show up
(08:48):
at the Gilmore House to study, and they've got some
pretty cool fits here. They reminded me of the Powerpuff
Girls in this moment. I know that it wasn't like
there wasn't a bright blue there that they were missing that,
but like Madeline's wearing this pink top, Paris is in
like a like a dull green kind of coat. Louise
(09:11):
is wearing kind of a like almost like a darker green.
They looked like the Powerpuff Girls. To me, it was
really fun to see that. It's also fun to see
them out of their Chilten uniforms. That was something that
I was really excited about. At this scene when they
go to the Bengals concert, Rory's wearing this like kind
of cool, like almost like leather patchwork jacket.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I thought that was a really neat choice.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Seeing her style contrast with the her chiltin classmates is
very interesting and I think it tells you a lot
about the character. And then we get into the.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Concert. Is fun that the Bengals look great, that their
outfits are awesome.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I was really really liked seeing them on stage and
then at the actual like rummage sale coming back with
another hit right before the episode ends. I love this
She's wearing her like Sherpa jacket that we love, the
lined jacket, but on her head she is wearing a
(10:13):
knitted beanie of Bigfoot. I loved this hat. I was flabbergasted.
I was stopped in my tracks. I love this hat.
It's it's like it's a repeating pattern of the of
Bigfoot in that like in the Patterson Gimblin film from
the sixties where like, you know, if you think of Bigfoot,
(10:35):
this is the pose he's in where it's like he's
walking with his arms kind of outstretched. Loralai is wearing
this hat. It's awesome. So you can I look for
this hat. I try to figure out. I'm like, oh,
you got to be able to get this hat. Someone's
got to figure it out that. There's been a lot
of people online who have found the hat and or
a version of it, and you can if you know
how to knit. If you know how to knit, you
(10:57):
can get a pattern and make this hat yourself. But
if you don't know how to knit, as many of
us don't. I did find it on Etsy Wooly Rhino Crafts.
It sold out, but it looks exactly like the one
from Gilmore Girls, and I think they're making these, so
I'm hoping they'll make more. My Etsy algorithm is now
(11:19):
entirely bigfoot stuff and that's fine, that's good, that's an improvement.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I love this hat. I thought it was so fun.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
What an episode, you guys, what an episode of of
Lorelei just causing mayhem through the through the fashion world
and in taking this Roumano sale with her. Let's let's
kind of look back. Let's give our final thoughts here
before we say goodbye. Let's do uh, let's.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Do the worst outfit. Okay, let's do the worst one.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I think in this episode, of of all the looks
we've seen, you know, I got to my least favorite,
my personal least favorite the very opening, when she's wearing
the the American flag shirt and the bandana. I thought
this was a bummer. I just it looks so weird.
It's so weird, and it's more than just like a
(12:09):
T shirt, you know, the like old navy like T shirt,
the American flag, like that's that's whatever. It's fine, you
wear that on Fourth of July, but like, this is
like just it was just so weird and not in
a fun way. To me, I did not like that outfit.
I think my favorite one this is gonna this might
surprise you. I did like the leopard print cowboy hat
with Luke's ex girlfriend's sweatshirt. I liked that because that
(12:33):
was a very striking outfit. Laura, I knew it was wild.
Sometimes I wonder if she knows. That's something that I
think about a lot when I see her wearing this stuff.
I'm like, do you know what you're doing? Do you
know what you're trying to? Like what you look like?
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Do you care? Or? And if the answer is yes, man,
what a what a wild woman? This?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
She knew what she was doing, She knew it was
a crazy sweatshirt, she knew it was a crazy hat,
and she was really wearing it with pride. She got
really thrown off by Luke not enjoying the sweatshirt, which
makes me sad because we don't want to see Loralai
in turmoil. But it did kind of throw her off.
But this was a crazy fit and therefore my favorite one.
(13:17):
I loved this The leopard print cowboy hat and the
crazy Renstone tied a sweatshirt.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
