podcast that is a rewatch of Gilmore Girls. Wheels within wheels. Here, people,
we are operating fourth dimensionally with this is galaxy brain stuff. Okay,

There's a lot going on here. This is season one,
episode four, and we are going to go piece by

piece of this episode. We're gonna go beat by beat
and explore the outfits that stand out to us in
the world of Gilmore Girls. I've been saying, we're turning
the gazebo Stars Hollow into a runaway. That's really fun.
This is a really good time. And this is a
great episode. Okay, this is a great fashion episode. I
just rewatched this. I had a blast in this. There's

so many great fits and there's a lot of iconic
lorele moments outfit moments in this episode. It's really really great.
So let's get into it people. Okay, Okay, we're gonna
start here. The cold open. Loral and Rory are shopping
for school supplies in Dosie's Market, and Lorelei's wearing this

really cool burgundy leather jacket. It's like red leather jacket.
It looks great. I've seen some like replicas on the
Internet of this. This is a great laurel I look.
It's one of those things where like there are certain
pieces in Gilmore Girls where you can just take one,
like like a jacket, a sweater, a hat, and Gilmore
Girls fans will instantly know, oh my god, you're dressed

like Rory, You're dressed like Laurrali. I believe this burgundy
jackets one of them. This is a heavy chiltin episode,
so there's a lot of Chilton scenes. And the uniforms
are great. I love when we get to see the
children uniforms. A lot of variation there. I did not
go to a school that has school uniforms, so this
is kind of fun for me to see. Oh, some

of these guys wear a necktie and some of them
wear a jacket. You know, there's enough variation where it's cool.
There's some sweater vests, there's some cool crests. I love
the Chilton scenes. I love those Chilton uniforms. But back
at the end, this is where the real crux of
this episode in terms of fashion begins. We're gonna go

to the Independence ind and before we get into what
Loreli is wearing. Okay, if you're watching Along at home
on Netflix, hip pause. Here Drella is rolling her harp
over Michelle's foot and it's this very funny moment. But
in the background, I love looking at this guy. There's

like an old school bell hop. And I know the
inn has a lot of these guys working there, but
it's just fun to see like a nineteen twenties style
bell hop. It makes me feel like I'm watching an
old Hollywood movie, like, oh, there's a bell hop there.
That's really fun. I've never seen a bell hop in
real life. He's in the background of a Gilmore Girls
though it's a blast. What a cool uniform. I just

wanted to highlight that uniform for a second here. But
this episode, season one episode for the Deer Hunter, this
is a big animal print episode. There's a lot of
animal prints on Lorelei, specifically she is she is bringing
out her animal side this episode. It begins here she's

at work, I mean she's dressed for work. Here. At
the end, she's wearing this cool green tiger stripe shirt.

And something else about this shirt is very exciting. Another

she goes by at ten percent caffeine. I want to
credit this young woman and this is a recent post.
She got this just a couple of weeks ago. She
found the shirt. She also says that it's worn by
Miranda in Sex in the City. She can't remember which episode,
but they paired it with a gray skirt. So that
this tiger stripe Theory shirt has made appearances in two

iconic Gilmer two iconic TV shows, Gilmore Girls and Sex
in the City. So there you go, if you want
to start your own search. Theory made this shirt. It's
a green tiger striped shirt. Very very cool. Now let's
move on to that night. Rory is Rory got a

d I feel so bad for her. She's stressing out,
she's studying so hard. She's wearing a great sweater, another
great Gomore sweater. It's it's green with like this kind
of frosty white pattern on the top over the chest
and on the shoulder. It's kind of like it's like
melting down her. It's very cool and would you believe it?

Loralai enters the scene. She's wearing animal print this time,
she's got the cheetah. She's got a cheetah shirt. She
is looking fierce in this episode. So many animal prints
and we will go through every single one, but she's
wearing this cool cheetah shirt in this scene. You know,
these these outfits, they're not random. These are very deliberate.

They pick these outfits with a specific goal in mind.
And I'm so curious why Loralai is just draped in
animal print in this episode. Are they try to make

no one's getting any sleep, everyone's stressed out the cheetah
print in this particular scene. I mean, what kind of
spots is she trying to show here? I'm so interested

blue like faux reptile skin. I don't want to say

looks more like looks more like it's like a crocodile
or something. It's you know, it's not real, obviously, it's

a print on a shirt. It's very cool. I really
liked this one a lot. I stared at this outfit
for a very long time. I paused it, I kept
rewinding it. I thought it was really fun. It's really
cool and also kind of cool that like, she can
wear this stuff to work. It does look professional even
though it's a it's a reptile print on a blouse. There,

and this leads us to another iconic Gilmore Girls outfit
that people try to recreate. Because there's something interesting about
this next outfit, something kind of wild. And I'm going

this next scene here in this episode where Laurla is

meeting with Rory's teacher, mister Medina, and she is wearing
like a She's wearing a blazer over a T shirt.
It's a really cool look. And this T shirt is
the B fifty two's Oh yeah, you know. I got
to talk to Kate Pearson from the B fifty twos
a few months ago and it was so much fun.

I'm such a big fan. I own a lot of
B fifty twos merchandise myself, and when I saw this
in the show, I was like, oh well, I got
to get the same B fifty two shirt that Laura
I has. I got to get this green B fifty
two's T shirt with an astronaut on it, kind of
retro looking astronaut friends. I don't know where this shirt

came from. I don't know if this was ever, if
this was an official B fifty two shirt. It's long
since out of print. This is very much a vintage piece.
I cannot find it. The only evidence I can find
of this shirt are Gilmour Girls fans trying to recreate it.

And something I think is really neat is that she's

They're great, They're so good, and I personally I am

guys to know that. Now we're moving on to Luke's diner.
Rory is again just frantically studying for this Shakespeare test

and a classic Luke. Look here he's wearing. He's wearing
his backwards baseball hat. Rory or Lorelei shouts it out
when she when she comes in, like, oh, backwards hat.
How original. He's wearing a plaid, flannel sleeves, rolled up,
standard outfit. He's got this, you know. His his undershirt
is like tucked into his jeans, and you can see
he's got this really big like belt buckle and not

like a not like a rodeo belt buckle, just like
a normal belt. But the buckle's big, and I thought
that was a cool look. You only get to see
it for a little bit before he goes back behind
the counter and and Laura is wearing the beeffty two
shirts still, but the blazer's off, we get a better
look at it. It's sleeveless, it's it's green, it's cool.
We can talk about that shirt forever. It's a really

study for this Shakespeare test. It's at night. They're in
their pajamas, Loreley wearing this really wild top. It's super colorful.

It's like, it's kind of Paisley, but there's as so
much else going on. It's almost got like tied eye
in it. Really crazy. I know it's pajamas. Pajamas can

but like it was just a it almost was like

a Rorshach test. I found myself staring at this shirt
and seeing my own birth and seeing my darkest memories
come to life in these patterns. It was really hypnotizing.
So that's another look I want to highlight. The rest
of the episode. There's a pretty standard stuff, you know,
just kind of generic. I don't want to say generic,

but nothing remarkable I can say for the rest of
the episode. Those are the hot ones, those are those
are the outfits we really want to talk about. So
now at this point in Star's Hollow style. Thank you

through and just give you a quick rundown of what
I think is the best outfit in the episode. Okay,

it's hard. This is a really hard one. There's so
many good ones. I love that B fifty two shirt,
and I'm trying not to let personal preference come into
play because I love the B fifty twos so much,
But I really love that tiger stripe. Sure, it's the
first animal print you see in a long line of
animal prints in this episode, but the one near the

beginning when you first see Loreli at the end, that
green tiger stripe again. Our friend on Instagram, I'm at
ten percent caffeine. She found it. It's made by Theory.
It's a great shirt. It looks really cool. I think
you can wear that to an office and it's not
get too much like, oh there's the where there's the
Queen of the Jungle. It's it's really really cool. That

I think is my favorite outfit of this episode. There's
a lot of great ones, but that is my favorite
and the worst. The one we just mentioned, that Paisley
print pajamatab it's it's it's wild. It's crazy. It really
brought me to places I didn't want to go. So

and seeing my own birth and seeing my darkest memories
come to life in these patterns. It was really hypnotizing.
So that's another look I want to highlight. The rest
of the episode. There's a pretty standard stuff, you know,
just kind of generic. I don't want to say generic,

but nothing remarkable I can say for the rest of
the episode. Those are the hot ones, those are those
are the outfits we really want to talk about. So
now at this point in Star's Hollow style. Thank you
for hanging out with me here. I want to go
through and just give you a quick rundown of what
I think is the best outfit in the episode. Okay,

it's hard. This is a really hard one. There's so
many good ones. I love that B fifty two shirt,
and I'm trying not to let personal preference come into
play because I love the B fifty twos so much,
But I really love that tiger stripe. Sure, it's the
first animal print you see in a long line of
animal prints in this episode, but the one near the
(14:44):
beginning when you first see Loreli at the end, that
green tiger stripe again. Our friend on Instagram, I'm at
ten percent caffeine. She found it. It's made by Theory.
It's a great shirt. It looks really cool. I think
you can wear that to an office and it's not
get too much like, oh there's the where there's the
Queen of the Jungle. It's it's really really cool. That

I think is my favorite outfit of this episode. There's
a lot of great ones, but that is my favorite
and the worst. The one we just mentioned, that Paisley
print pajamatab it's it's it's wild. It's crazy. It really
brought me to places I didn't want to go. So
that's that's my indictment here. That's my judgment, But what's yours.
