Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, Christy, Hey there Will. What's up? Nothing much? How
are you pretty good? I'm doing okay? How are you?
I mean, honestly, the contest has been taking more of
my life. But besides that, we're good. I love that
the contest to take it. We'll get into more. We'll
talk about that on our next episode. But great, this
one I'm pretty excited for because we're combining two nerd
(00:25):
dooms that, frankly, I'm amazed, have never really been combined before.
And they're going to breakthrough a nerd a nerd breakthrough
a nerd total nerdgasm, total nerdgasm. Amazing. I can't wait.
It's just the coolest thing ever. But yes, we're going
to talk a lot about the contest. We also need
to talk about I just want to give a shout
(00:47):
out because all this stuff happening at the Contest, and
a lot of it is not only due to iHeart,
but also Amazon Prime Prime Video the Legend of Oxmocking
on Prime Video. I want to thank all my friends
over there and make sure everybody watches season two of
The Legend Boxmachina, which you can stream now. I think
there's a bunch of episodes up already. I know for
a fact that the first three or four are great
(01:08):
because I'm Adam. Yeah. But yeah, go check out the
Legend Boxmchina on Prime Video. You will not be disappointed.
But today, like I said, we're gonna take two nerdoms
and we're going to smash them together. I'm really excited
for this guest. Christy. Our guest today actually has two names.
Speaking of multiple nerdoms, it's Via Trinidad aka these Elina
(01:32):
Vega from WWE. Let's chat with her. Hey, Hi, welcome
to I hear voices. You are now part of the family. Yes,
thank you so much. It's a family have been dying
to be a part of. I was gonna say, so,
I've been reading about your stuff. You are a huge
like anime voiceover kind of video game fan, aren't You're
(01:54):
one of us? Oh? Yes, it's since Jump Street. Since
I was a kid, and like I was the person
that you know, I'm smaller, so people kind of made
fun of for a long time. But now it's like
cool to be a nerd. So I'm like, okay, where
was this like back then? You know? Right? So, so
what got you into the into the world? You said,
Jump Street what was the first thing that really really
brought you into what we love to talk about the time.
(02:18):
I was okay, so Pokemon was like my first ever
I actually haven't it's beyond tattoo on my arm. I
loved Pokemon for the longest. And then the thing is
with Sailor Moon. I liked Sailor Moon, but I didn't
like her. I liked Sailor Mars. She was my favorite.
Saylor Mars is pretty cool. Yeah, and it was like, yeah,
she was like the badass and I was like, yeah,
(02:40):
I want to be like that. I like her like
I don't know, the whinyness was more like cute. But
then I just never found myself in that category. So yeah,
like Digimon, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, you know Yasha, Like I
have actually just got a Yosha tattoo. I don't know
if you guys could see this, but on my leg.
Oh geez, yes, that's gorgeous. Yeah, looks great. So you
(03:03):
really are all all about anime? Yes, yeah, I know.
First much as it shocks people, I actually am now
an She's got to be in anime. That'd be so fun.
I think that would be cool. But the question is, now,
did you have. Were you any a fan of any
Western animation or was it all anime? Um? I mean
mostly anime to be honest, And I think it's just
(03:25):
because their storytelling is just seconds and none, you know, like, yeah,
there was sometimes in Naruto where I was just like no,
I would say my mom, and I'm like, no, you
have to watch this. You don't understand, like it's a
it's a whole thing. And then it comes around full
circle and it sometimes I said, actually, I wish that
some of the writers would bring in some of the
people who've written for Naruto because it's just crazy how
(03:49):
they bring their their storytelling around. So yeah, mostly, yeah,
you wish, you wish they do that because the Batman,
the whole Batman world, everybody always wanted them to bring
the Batman Beyond or Batman the animated series writers to
do the movies. It's like, why why aren't they using
that talent to do the same thing. And it was
the same thing with writers like that. Yeah, A lot
(04:10):
of what a lot of why animation is so iconic
is really it's not just the animation itself, right, Like
you can see an anime anime isn't I don't think
personally this maybe an unpopular opinion that that anime is
the most beautiful of all of the I think that's
also subjective, but like there's lots of like Pixar and
you know, like Possible or whatever. Everything's different. But and
(04:33):
it definitely lends itself to a certain a certain culture
surrounding anime. And I'm not even talking about where it
may have originated. I'm talking about just the culture of
anime and the way that it looks and the way
that people cause play. But it is it is quite
an interesting. Yeah, it's an interesting and different world. I
think I went on a tangent. I'm sorry, but it's
(04:54):
a good flint though. It's a good point though, because
it's just different, you know, Like I've there's been so
many times where I saw, like, Okay, well who am
I going to cost both to the you know, because
a lot of the times I'm allowed to kind of
explore that option. When I'm going to the ring, they're
kind of like as she's doing her like anime thing,
like yeah, They're like I let her be, and I'm like, okay,
(05:16):
so should it be rockly today or can I bring
Leggie into it? And sometimes it won't even be like, um,
really spot on. Sometimes it'll just be like a little hint.
Like I think last week or the week before I
had um, the little the crescent moon on my forehead
was upside down for like I call her dark Chibis
(05:37):
is what I like to call her now. But it's
a you know, just like like a little little piece
of her. You know. So even today I was saying,
I'm like, maybe I should do tangan like with the
little thing over the eye, you know. So, yeah, I
know that's really cool because you're sourcing sort of your
inspiration performance wise in the ring, and and you know, um, Brendan,
(05:57):
I did it again. Will I called you? My husband
always called me her husband's names, her husband's name. It's
starting to wonder, it's starting to make me wonder, just
because I love you so much about like that, we
were going to talk to you about your voice and
how you sort of procure your voice and use your
voice in in your you know, in in wrestling essentially,
(06:20):
like how is that something that you've learned to project
over time? And obviously, if you're sourcing inspiration, what's your
your method for creating characters and and these like you know,
almost like pathologies. Yeah, well, so it depends on which
side of Selena you're asking about, because there's like so
many different forms of her um but like even just
(06:42):
Queen Selena. They I remember Vince was like, I think
you should do an accent, like just a really bad accent.
And I was like, oh god, okay, so like what
if we mix like British and Australian. But I'm really
thinking I'm like a distant cousin of the royal families
twice or moved like something ridiculous, and He's like, yeah, yeah,
I do that like that. Like I don't know, I
(07:03):
feel like if I hang out with my friends long enough,
you know, she's all strilling, so she kind of sound
like these she kind of says things like no and sorry,
you know, yeah like that, you know, so it's it's
different with that. But also when I played um aj
Lee in Fighting with My Family, I listened to her
voice over and over and over. I think I was,
(07:24):
like I told her husband. I was like, dude, I
think I've listened to her voice more than you have
because I've just tried to like get it down so
much because she goes up with her voice like this,
and then sometimes she goes really low, so it depends
she's you know, she's the fun person that I got
to jump into the mind of. But yeah, it's just
a fun like how can I make this different today?
Or you know. Sometimes also we'll say with Selena end
(07:45):
with my real life if I get seriously man, because
I'm from Queens, New York and I'm Puerto Rican, but
if I get really mad, my New York comes out
quite a bit. So with her. We're from sorry Brendan
shush No Hill Will from Connecticut and we both kind
of grew up going into the city, so we are
(08:07):
kind of like city kids but like bridge and tunnel
and so like we speak your language. I personally, I
haven't ever asked you this will, but like I know
for a fact that my like Italian New York girl
comes out when I get bad too, But what about
you will? No, my Italian girl does not come out
when I get mad. No, I to be honest with you,
(08:29):
And this is gonna sound so strange, but it's true.
I can count on one hand the last time in say,
ten or fifteen years, that I was actually mad. I
just don't get I just don't get mad. I know,
I just I don't get mad. I'm very mellow. It's
probably why I deal with anxiety, because I swallow everything
and it comes out later in panic attacks or something.
But no, so no, one of the things that I
(08:49):
love is because you know, I know a bit about wrestling.
Also from Connecticut. WWE's you know that's right. But the
show that I was on back in the day called
Boy Meets World, we did a lot with wrestlers, so
we had Mankind Invader, and we were you know that.
We did episodes that actually took place at the WWE,
(09:10):
and I started to learn more about the world. And
and much like Nerdum, the wrestling fandom is voracious and
man they are. They love what they love, they hate
what they hate, just like the voiceover world. And the
thing that we I always found so interesting about the
correlation between the two is you are essentially you forget
(09:30):
the everyone goes well, wrestling's fake. No it's not. It's
not fake. It's stage, which is a very different thing.
They are. The athletics involved in actually being in the
WWE is second to none as a performer, but you
are essentially a live action voiceover actor. Because hero, but
(09:51):
you are, but you're you know, you're walking in with
a character and you're walking in as if everyone in
the stands could play you on the screen with it,
you know, like, oh, I wish I could be in
control of this character. So I mean, do you ever
approach it like that? Like you're walking and going like
this is my anime and this is the voice I'm
going to throw out there now, and here's what we got.
(10:12):
In a way, I think it's when it comes down to,
like I said, the Queen character stuff. I think I
did it more than because it was just so far
removed from my normal speaking. But yeah, it was. And
it's funny because someone else brought that up to me.
They're like, yeah, like I picture like you in an
anime and like who would you be, like if you
were in the nards a universe, Like who would you be?
And whatever? And I'm like, hmm, there's so many times
(10:34):
that I've thought about that, but in a very different way.
But you know, it's it's fun because they get to
end I mean, they technically do get to play with
play me as Selena in the video game, which they
just announced that I'm seventy four I was like, oh god,
that rating is trash, Like come on, but get off.
They were like come on. I was like, first ever
(10:54):
Queen of the Ring are you kidding me? And longest
well second longest Ring and Tag Team Shampa come on,
and I don't know, I have a whole thing, and
now they're just whatever, talking like a gamer. I love
how you switched it right to talking like a gamer.
That's so awesome. Oh man, that's good, I guess so, like,
especially when it comes to gaming, like you took about
Street Fighter, you talking about Mortal Kombat, like I was
the one who's like, no, no no, no, I'm not stopping
(11:15):
until I beat like shou Kan. So even if it's
seven in the morning, like this is happening. Wow. Yeah,
your whole life, I mean your whole life. Oh yeah,
like since I was a kid, Like my mom actually
is the one I caught playing Mortal Kombat and she's like, okay,
just don't tell your dad, come on, and she just
like like the original mortar combat to finish him that
one the victory. Oh yeah, that really is that kind
(11:40):
of us all? You know that right? Please? I think
I'm older than the two of you combined, so you.
You kind of mentioned because you talk about Narrato, which
(12:01):
we you know, Miley flannagain big friend of ours, friend
of the podcast, and Steve Bloom, who's one of my
closest friends in the world. Um, I don't know if
you actually watched or listen to the I hear voices
that she was on, but she was originally her father
was a spy. Her father was a spy where she
found out later he worked for like the CIA for years,
(12:22):
and she then went to start training as a spy.
It's I'm not going to give it away. You should listen.
It's not so cool, absolutely crazy, but you mentioned that universe.
But if you get to pick anything out there, any role,
any any show, who are you? What do you want
to do? Dream job? Is it like? Do you mean
(12:44):
make up a character? You mean you could do that too?
You got it? If I know, and I don't know
you at all, but I know you enough from this
last five or six minute conversation that you've got characters
in your head you've already created somewhat. I mean, sorry
with her hair and the pink I'm getting Harley Quinn,
(13:05):
which we hear a lot. I could definitely see that
you know what's funny. Yeah, yeah, like I'm okay, so
um full disclosure, I've actually always loved um blonde and pigtails.
I don't know why. Like my favorite Spice girl was
Baby Spice, Like yeah, bubbles, this my favorite power up girl,
(13:26):
Harley Quinn was my favorite, and I was like, no,
Tara Strong just has that online like she get better
than that, Like she's a good yes, iconic um but
I mean, I don't know, like the joking around kind
of sort of me goes like, hey, can I just
be like Modera's white or something? But then at the
same time, I'm like, I don't know. I think I'd
(13:47):
want to be some like super evil character in Naruto
or Rango Ki's white. But other than that than that, No,
it's it's for sure because I didn't just Nords the
World is probably my favorite favorite, like above everything, just
because that storytelling just brings you to a whole nother level.
And just even my mom watches in that, Like she
(14:10):
called me, she was like, who is Gara and why
did he do this to rock Lee? I'm dead? So
oh I love that so much. So we um, you know,
Christy and I do a lot of conventions where you know,
you're signing autographs and doing stuff like that. And right
about end of pandemic, when the conventions started coming back.
We would go and we would sit there and it
would be you know, Marvel actors, and then there'd be
(14:32):
voiceover actors, and then there's always huge and wrestlers, but
there'd be these huge lines were like who who who
are they? And what is that for? And they're like, oh,
those are all the anime voice actors. It yet bloaded
during the pandemic, especially where people had time to just
binge everything. And so now you go to these conventions
and some of if not the longest lines there are
(14:56):
all the anime actors. I love it so much. It's crazy.
I mean it's there. There'll be a five hour wait
for some of these anime actors. It's insane. And speaking
of anime and uh and all that fun stuff, you're
actually going to be presenting uh something at the ANNIE
Awards in Japan, aren't you? Can you tell us about that?
I'm so excited about that. I remember when I got
(15:17):
the call about it, I was like, don't play with me, Like,
don't don't do that, because if if this just doesn't
end up happening. I'm never speaking to you guys again.
But it was like such a weird because I felt
I remember, like I was in the car with my
husband and he was like, why are you freaking out?
What's going on? I'm trying to stop with the phone
and it's like I'm trying to hear it. And they're like, yeah,
so you'd be coming to Japan um for like five days.
(15:40):
You do this with Crunchy Role and the Anime Awards
and blah blah blah. I'm like, okay, yeah, I mean
obviously the answer is yes, but like, how does this work?
Like do I miss TV? Because we obviously we do
TV every Friday. They're like, yeah, they allowed you to
miss the TV. I was like, they allowed me to
miss it a TV for this? Like what? So it's
so huge, It's it's crazy to think that, like it
(16:01):
went from such a i don't know, like such a
not known thing in them to be especially my bosses.
Like the way I had to explain Madra to Vince
was my my favorite. But a fly on the wall
of that conversation. Vince is her creator owner. Yes, yeah,
(16:26):
Kennedy McMahon. Yeah, So you go and you pitch him
different ideas and he's usually pretty receptive. Okay, well that's good. Yes, yes,
it depends on what it is like, especially if he
doesn't hear like why it makes sense for the character
because like he goes, okay, is this the thing or
this is the lean of thing? Like which one are
we doing here? Because sometimes you're a little more but
(16:47):
um I told him. I was like, well, um, I
want neil Kaplan to do my entrance for the World Rumble.
And he was like why and I was like, well,
he does the voice of matter or Gia and he's like,
who's that? And I was like okay, okay, okay. I
was like, you know what frenchy roll is and he's
like a sushi Yes, that's like no, no, no no, no,
(17:08):
no no no roll back in um so crunchy roll
is like the Netflix of anime. He's like, okay, I
get that. And I was like, okay, so um Naruto
is like the WWE of you know, anime, and he's like, okay,
I like Naroto, this is good. I was like okay,
um Matera is kind of like what Paul Haman is
(17:29):
too Roman, and he was like Okay, we need it.
So it's like, okay, good see that's really cool. And
it's also my god combining. I'm the first one to
successfully combine anime and the WWE is going to take
two of the biggest fandoms in the world and slam
them together. It's genius. Yeah. Oh man, that's speak in
(17:50):
his language, you know, so, but I mean to be fair.
To have Neil Kaplan as Matera announcing like, all hail
the Queen, Queen Glena and I'm possilaying him at the
same time at the Royal Rumble was just the most
insane thing I've ever experienced, because every time I hear
his voice too, I'm like, okay, yeah, I could do this,
like you know, it was give me like a little boost.
(18:10):
Oh that is so awesome. I have to do more anime.
It's so fun. I've gotten to do so fun. I'm
trying to like how Moving Castle? How is Moving Castle?
Was a ton of fun? Um and that was that
was a fun project to be in. And then Batman
Ninja was really cool. Um. But the it was the
video games that that I had the most fun doing.
They took forever, but Rogue Galaxy was a ton of fun,
(18:33):
and Jade Empire was a ton of fun. But they
take a long time. Who are you in the Star Wars?
The Jade Empire is a Star Wars No, No, Jade
Empire is just right. It was just a kind of
an anime based video game. Anything with Empire, I'm like, oh,
that's Star Wars. We're turning Christy into more of a nerd.
We're getting there into more of a nerd. We are
(18:54):
it's fun, it's fun getting there. You are your tory
getting there. I'm like Hogwarts and Twine, like you know
what I mean. So like, I'm just like I'm into
everything though, Like I love all of the fandoms. I
think it's amazing. It is too we're trying to lean
her harder into the Hogwarts and lesson to the Twilight.
I feel that. Yeah, man, okay, So now are you
(19:19):
going You're heading to Japan soon or did you already go?
You know I'm going there on the twenty seventh. Oh
you must be so excited. Yes, yeah, I was there
a few times, but um, the first time I got
to be there for a good like three weeks um,
which is really cool. But I didn't get to explore
everything I wanted to. So now I get to do
that this time around. And then the other times I
went was just in and out because it was like
(19:40):
go there, performed and leaves. Are you going to do
the Mari the Mario Kart Tour? Have you heard about this?
So I've done that? Yeah, okay, okay, yeah, but I
wanted to save like to go like to Superintendent World
with my husband because he really wants to do that too,
so i'mna save that for him. But my aunt and
I are going to go to Naruto World and uh
(20:01):
to like the Hellacanni World things. Oh I just saw
online because my girls actually really like Studio Gilby and
so am I saying that right spirited away? Oh okay, yeah,
yeah you're talking about you you're talking about Mirrazaki stuff. Yeah,
and then yes, so all of that stuff. I just
saw a post online that somewhere in Japan and some
(20:22):
remote forest they have a studio Ghibli. I think you're
saying it right. Yeah, I'm for trying it, okay, And
they have a whole beautiful park that they've integrated into
like they'll like you'll have the park and then all
of a sudden it will be like a structure, and
so it's all artistic. Yeah, because all of the all
of the all of the characters are in nature a
(20:43):
lot of the time. So it's so cool. So cool. Okay,
so we can't we obviously need a very very important
to talk about street Fighter. Oh yeah, So I mean
this was it seems like again you and I automatically
speak the same language, so it seems like you are
this was like the coolest thing in the world. For
(21:04):
you are one of the coolest things in the world.
What can you tell us what you're doing? And it's
I mean, what's happened in the street Fighter world? What
are you doing? So I am a real time commentator
in Street Fighters six and even just to say that
out loud on Mike, Wait, no, is that real? Oh
my gosh. I was at the Capcom Cup the other
day and they played the trailer and just looking at it,
(21:27):
you can say it looks like an eight year old kid.
I'm freaking out because it's like, man, that's so cool,
like that sweet. But my favorite is when I get
to tell my I'm like, hey, mom, you remember when
you said I never get anywhere with video games? Weird?
I can't wait. I want my kids to say that
to me someday. You know you actually would want that.
That's awesome. Yeah, so it's cool. It's it's still crazy
(21:49):
to think about. And then the whole like thing with Jury.
I remember the mass me like okay, well, who were
like you're three people, like the three that you really
really love, And I'm like, okay, Vega obviously because that's
where I got my last name from. Um, like for
Zelena veg I chose him specifically, Yeah yeah, yeah. I
was like, no, I don't care if it's Vega or
(22:09):
Zelena Vegga. I just make sure Vegas in there. So
do you jump to do the same thing by jumping
into the ring the way the Vega jumped into the
ring as I could. I wish I could, I said,
I would love it if I can be in like
an elimination chamber matches and things, I could like use
the gate kind of climb the fence like you would
climb the straight jump off the climbing the fence. So cool.
They have no idea what they're being for if they
put me in a match, like yeah, yeah, and then
(22:33):
um a Jury obviously, who I like past played for
this past. Still, I can't believe that even happened the
way I did, because I'm pretty sure I'm the only
one in ww that's done that had a huge pay
per view like Rumble and you know such it like
a cool collaboration between the two and then yeah, and
then you obviously who doesn't love for you? So yeah,
(22:54):
it's it's so crazy to say like I'm a part
of that. It's still mind blowing. Oh god, yeah, no, Uh,
the the idea again, I cannot get over the idea
of combining these two fandoms of anime and WWE, because
there it's just they're they're so on the same wavelength
just with their nerdoms that it just like, why hasn't
(23:15):
it been done before? But wait, is this all happening
after you've explained evince like your passion for this type
of stuff, and um, it's yeah, because I'm like when
it was a chicken or egg or just like, are
you expanding his mind? I think I think I've expanded
his mind on it because I know I'm not like
(23:36):
I would say, I'm probably, if not the biggest anime
fan in d Um it's probably me Kofi um and
a Ricochet's really in Snarato. Also like there's a few
of us, Like, there's a handful of us, but me
and Rha are probably the only girls. I Her thing
is just dragon ball. She's all dragon Ball. But I'm
kind of like everything, you know, I think Ricochet if
(23:59):
I'm if I'm not mistaken, I think Ricochet and I
when I was on social media, which I'm not anymore, thankfully, um,
but I think he and I talked at one point
because I believe he came into the ring one time
dressed like Terry McGinnis like Batman Beyond. Oh yes, yeah
he did. He did, And so I hit him up
(24:19):
and I went, dude, you you stole my suit. And
he was like, oh my god, Oh my god, this
is so cool. You're Terry, You're tarrying. This is the
coolest thing in the world. And I'm just here the
whole time going like, oh my god, Ricochet thinks, like
used to watch Batman Beyond. It was I love on
the Nerdom's Collide. I just it's my favorite thing ever.
It's the best. Like that kind of story warms my
(24:39):
heart because number one, it's kind of like I'm not
the only one that that's happened too, so that's good
to do. But also like it's it's just such a
I don't know, you become a kid again in a way,
and I feel like I'm always trying to recapture that
like younger part of myself and I don't want to
let that go. It's so important to like not let
your inner child go and like make that kid proud,
you know, because they went through a lot. So yeah,
(25:01):
it'd be it'd be cool too. I don't know, Like
I will say it's happened to me with Mark Witten
on accident. Uh, it was very Usually it's like let's
not relive that, yeah, happened. What happened? Because usually I
can prepare myself for I'm going to meet somebody I
really like and admire or whatever. I can just put
(25:23):
on the front like yeah, totally nice to meet you,
like whatever. But what it ended up being with something
completely different because I was not ready for it. Um
because when I was filming for like when I was
doing the voice over for a Street Fighter, UM Keith
who I'm sure you know him PCB. Yeah, so he's
a freaking genius, that man. But like he brought me
(25:45):
around the studio and he's like, oh, yeah, um, this
is my wife Lance. She's recording somebody that's Mark, and
I'm listening and I heard him say flame and I
was like, oh my god. And he's like, what's wrong.
And I was like, that's freaking ran Goku. That's who
that is. He's like who. I was like, I just
wished telling you I'm obsessed with him, like I love to, like,
you know, and marry him and Steven Slayer and like
(26:06):
I want to get his tattoo of him and like
the whole thing. I was just telling you this. But
what I didn't know is like Mark heard everything I said, really, yeah,
because because he was behind the glass, he couldn't hear me. Yeah.
So that's my entry into the world of voiceover. Had
no idea that he could actually hear me. So I
(26:27):
was like, oh yeah. Because then I was like, well, Keith,
you have to introduce us now because now it's really weird.
He's like, well, you have to say hi. I was like,
I don't want to stay hi. He's like he could
still hear you. Yeah, So I was like yeah, okay.
So when we went over, he was like, this is
she's not a stalker, I swear, and I'm like, okay,
(26:51):
she did this and we're bringing her in a blah
blah blah. He's like, oh, yeah, didn't you like message
me on Instagram once? And I'm like, no, no, you
remember that? And I remember because it was when the
event happened with Ngoku was very mad. I had a
wine or so, and I might have said. I was like,
you need to do a back in time episode and
(27:13):
undo what y'all just did because it's not fair. And
I was really upset about it. So he's like, yeah,
I remember you sending me the Instagram message. I was like,
oh god, okay, this is great. But I was just
like red and sweating and it was a whole no.
But he was a sweetheart. He was so so nice,
and I said, thank God for that, because if the
one character I love so much was a jerk, I
would have been so destroyed. But he don't meet your
(27:35):
heroes kind of yeah. Yeah, you almost never ever find
that in the voiceover world. Almost everyone you meet are
the nicest people you were ever on camera. It's fifty fifty.
It's like they could be really cool people. You could
walk away going that's the worst person I've ever met
my life voice over it's like ninety eight percent are
(27:55):
the nicest people you will ever ever meet. I had
no sore. It's so rare to hear that. Oh wow,
that voiceover actor was a jerk, Like you almost never
hear that. Yeah, I wasn't expecting it, if I'm being fair,
because like I just you never know why, like you
never know what to expect. But then because of that,
he was Actually he came with me and get my
rango of the tattoo. So yeah, that's really cool. Well,
(28:21):
you said something earlier, and it's a motto one of
I have a few mottos that I live by, but
one of them is very very important to me, and
it's it's hitting on exactly what you said was there
is a very big difference between child ish and childlike,
and childlike is hugely important and needs to be held
onto forever. And that's one of the reasons why I
think things like the WWE exist because there's a childlike
(28:44):
wonder to something like WWE that exactly matches up with
anime or animation or something like that. There is something
so it is a live action video game. When you
go to a WWE match or something. I mean, it's
it's great. So we have so much fun doing it too.
Like I mean, I'm the bad guy, so it's kind
of hard to say, like, you know, but I'm never
(29:05):
the one that gets cheered necessarily awesome in New York,
but I want that. I always say, like, whoever's come, oh,
we're gonna come and watch it the Show'm like, okay,
please boo for me, Like I love that love. But yeah,
I'm like, please boo me, like, boo the hell to
me because I love it. Because you want to be
a villain, you said, Yeah, to be a villain. Getting
booed is like actually like a compliment. Yes, very much so, Yeah,
(29:28):
very very much so. And it just helps my job
and it makes it a lot easier. And yeah, it's
it just makes so much more more fun, you know.
Like there's this one kid who wanted to like jump
the guard rail one time on me, and I was like, yes,
this is great. You're like in this ring, it's chaos.
That's so funny. It's it's such a different experience. When
that we we talked about on about Boy MEA's World.
(29:51):
They did an episode at a WWE match where they
go in with Vader with Vader who was also a
bad guy, and it's my friends were like, dude, we
were getting just shouted at and stuff thrown at us
and go screw yourself. Boy meets World. It's like it
was nuts. And I was like, yeah, of course you
went with a villain, Like that's right, that's that's what
(30:12):
you went there. It's a fully immersive world. It is
completely interactive at that point, so just totally cool. Are
you going to be coming to any conventions to meet
(30:33):
some of the people that you really want to meet
and maybe sign autographs to your fans and all that
good kind of stuff. So actually, um, when Mark came
with me to do the Run Go Couss, he came
with his manager named Jeremy, who also works with you know,
SKay and um Jariah. So I've met in before, Like
Bryce is amazing, I love him, but I've never met Jariah.
(30:57):
So Dave Lodger, I never met him, So I was like, oh,
I really want to go and meet him. So he's like, oh,
you're gonna get a tattoo of me too, and I
was like all right, I got okay, let's do it.
You know. So yeah, definitely meet him and Lady Sonata
I think she's there so excited for that. I've never
met Steve Saley before. I'd love to meet him. Such
(31:17):
a mega fan of Negi Nji has a whole part
of my life too, So just obsessive. But it's another language.
It is. Anime is another language, and it's a language
within the language. Because it's like Christy and I will
talk about animation forever and I'm still hearing names of
actors that I don't know, and it's I've been doing this,
We've been doing thirty years. So it's like it's the
it's exploded. Anime has just become a whole language unto
(31:40):
itself at this point. It's amazing. Yeah, and again I
cannot get over. If I know, Vince McMann is undoubtedly
a huge fan of I hear voices. I'm sure he
listens to every episode. So when with with you listening,
mister McMahon, I know that you are a businessman combining
anime and WWE really and it is it is two
(32:02):
fandoms that would explode. You could do an entire show, Yeah,
you could that where it would just be anime based
or anime. Yeah, yeah, just anime based nuts the Demon
Slayer career that I was just at. They had the
Japanese voice actor Pertundro and the English voice actor Pertundro,
(32:22):
and it was cool to see the similarities in the
voice but also the differences and just this the like
I may not understand a word he was saying, but
I felt every word he was saying. So such, Yeah,
it's such a cool thing because I mean I watched
it in boths of and dev so but the people
are like, well but I love watching both and you
(32:45):
just kind of get different experiences with each one of them.
So yeah, it's really fol Plus I also found out
only action the fact that Zenny two, um my friend Alex,
he's also on stream Cutter with me, so talking about
like combining in the world, like he's also in Demon Slayer,
but he's also on Street Fighter with me and I
nerd out for him and he doesn't know completely the
extended it, but so so the and then by the way,
(33:08):
when we were talking about is in June this is
coming out? Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've got that's either
we want to make sure we pumped this so st
it launches worldwide on June second. It's now available for
pre order, so please jump in because it sounds like
it's going to be one of the coolest things kind
of ever, and I can't wait. I can't wait. I'm excited.
(33:29):
I'm gonna play it. It's very very cool. And of
course w W E SmackDown airs Fridays at eight pm
on Fox. We want to make sure that we are
pumping everything that you're doing. But yeah, this is actually
going there. Right after this, I'm going straight to the arena. Yeah,
are you really? You love flawless? So you kick some butt?
So are you fighting tonight? I don't think so, but
(33:51):
I never know until I get there, So it's it's
kind of yeah, yeah a lot of the time, which
I was always like, oh hey glad you're here. So
even mush tonight it's seven minutes against Riha, have fun.
And then you just kind of figure it out. Wow,
wild you're such a rock star. Well do you figure
it out? I gotta do you figure it out in
the ring or do you figure it out beforehand? So
(34:12):
sometimes sometimes it's like the one thing that we'll know
is obviously the outcome, and if there's anything specific that
you know, um triple age or Vince needs. But most
of the time we kind of just if we have
like a cool idea that we want to try beforehand,
we'll talk about it beforehand. But if you know the
person all off and Ria I've known for a while,
we can just go in there and if she's not
(34:34):
calling me all kinds of curse words that the camera
somehow never catches. Of course. Yeah, yeah, we're talking out
in there, so well again that's we're talking about. It
seems like there's a theme to this episode, which is
languages and language. You have another language, another language in
the ring that you have to kind of figure out,
which is Oh, man, that's amazing. It's such a language.
(34:57):
It's such a world. It's not violence, it's action. That's
how right I feel that because it is man, it's
it's such a world within a world. And then too,
I'm gonna I'm I forget Vince McMahan. I'm starting the
all anime wrestling circuit because it's such a market that's awesome.
I mean, I don't know, I think it'd be cool
(35:19):
to like, there's so many things that you can do
that It's funny because Keith and I kind of have
that conversation recently. But it's like, there's so many ways
you can go about it. What if like one of
the video games, you're like, I want to see what
happens when you know, a Nosegay fights you know, Naruto
or the or the big one, Like who's gonna win
Goku or Naruto or Goku or Sailor Room because there's
so many people who hate the fact that they think
(35:40):
that Sailor Room could be Goku and then like you
can figure it out in the game, you know, find out. Yeah,
there's so many ways you can go about it. And
it kind of goes back to like your love a
Pokemon where like because I know Pokemon for my girls too,
where it's like you'll have all of the different you know,
pokemons and then when you unleash them, they battle. So yeah, yeah, definitely,
I'm here for this. I'm here for this. Yeah, I'm
(36:03):
gonna get Christy to go to a w W match.
It's going to be a time. Yeah, when we're in Connecticut.
My daughters, Yeah, well how old. They're a little young
at this point, I think, yeah, six and four, but
I want to show them that like you can kick butt,
you know, like them to be like cool. I don't
think they have words. I don't think they'll know the
(36:24):
bad word. Maybe they want to hear the bad words.
It depends like I I mean, my family would taking
me since I was like in the womb if they could,
but it was, yeah, I always been to the wrestling
events and like I turned out fine. But you know,
so it's, um, it's very very cool. I think we'rest PG.
So there's no like anything good. Yeah, pg's fine, we
(36:46):
could do that. It's it's an you know, I hear
I only I only got to see a little bit
of one, but it's in experience. It's truly experience. Yeah,
all right, Well we're gonna go see you. We're gonna
and thank you so much for for for joining us,
because I know that you have a ton of things
to do when you're literally going right from here. Uh
(37:06):
and again everybody. Street Fight or six launches worldwide on
June second. It's now available for pre order. As you
can tell, THEA doesn't care at all that it's coming
out or about anything in the anime world. She's not
a fan. She just doesn't like it. She's so excited.
Where are you online? Are you also on TikTok. Are
you on Instagram? Yes, um TikTok Instagram, Twitter. Everything is
(37:29):
Zelena Vega wwe no spaces all off this one Ward
that's a man. And you're gonna be in Japan for
the Crunchy Role Anime Awards, which is really cool. I'm
going to document every part of that, like I'm gonna
be like live streaming the whole time. Pretty much I can't,
but you know, I'm sure they're gonna love having the
more eyes on it, so that's the greatest thing. And
(37:49):
of course WW SmackDown airs Friday's at eight pm on Fox.
You can see uh well, if you don't want to
see thea, you can see Zelena um and vice versa,
which is very very cool. The nicest villain I've yet
to meet, by the way, Just for the record, villains
always have a purpose. They always have a reason as
to why they are the way that they are, you know,
(38:09):
so I can't they do And same as Modom like,
I don't blame you, bro, like I feel that. Yeah,
there's a lot of people that walked out of that
Second Infinity War like he kind of had a point. Ye,
My loves Ursula and she loves like Scar and she
loves all the villains, and I'm like, hey, all right
(38:31):
again it I see we're working about. See who you
are my favorite too. Yep, Scar Injabarrow my favorites. So
there you go. Nice. Well, thank you so much for
joining us. If you if you're if you're rolling tonight,
have a great time. If you not, just enjoy the show.
Thank you guys so much. I can talk to you
guys forever. I'm also like holding on the fact that
I am fans of you both, but so thank you
(38:53):
very much, very thank you, and Christy and I are
absolutely really want to come and watch you watch We
are serious about this at anytime let me know. Well, definitely,
thank you for joining us. Have fun. Thank you guys,
Bye bye. I love talking to people that are that
excited to be nerds. Yeah, I get that. I get that.
(39:16):
Plus she's also just like a really down to earth
person with this like larger than life persona like when
she's performing, which I think we can both relate to
as voice actors, because it's like when you're in your element,
it's like you come alive. You have the freedom to
come alive behind the microphone, which by the way, I've
heard a lot in the auditions. I've heard a lot
(39:37):
of really amazing people who like listen to us in
these other episodes that we had where we were like,
guys take risks, and I can tell that people were
taking risks with their auditions. And I'm just so excited
to have the contest ongoing right now. I know I
am too, And yeah, I love just the idea. You're right,
I had a breakthrough the idea of combining WWE. It's
(39:58):
a tregillion dollar idea. Yeah, I think you should. Yeah,
I'm just gonna go start that business real quick. Yeah,
mister McMahon, if you're listening, get by them. I know.
I love everyone's like, you don't have kids, you could
do anything. Um no, no, no, seriously, it's she was
so sweet to take the time. She is in the
like in a hotel room, ready to go to an
(40:20):
event tonight, so very amazing. She doesn't even know she's like,
she doesn't even know she's fighting. That's amazing to me.
That's the nuts that they just throw that at you.
But thank you very much now next week. So uh,
I'm gonna be honest with you that she was our
last guest. It was our last guest who were just
sitting and having a conversation about voiceover and and animation
(40:41):
with because Uh, next week, we're going to do an
episode where Christy and I are just going to be
talking about the contest. We're gonna let you in on
a few little secrets. We're not going to give too
much away, but we want to talk about kind of
what's going on. And then after that it is all contest,
all the time, and we are going to find the
next big voice actor. We cannot wait. It's real, it's happening.
(41:02):
We got thousands, not an exaggeration, thousands of audition tapes, videos,
you name it, we got it. We've heard some incredible voices.
It's I'm really excited. We set out with one goal,
and that was to find somebody that day one could
step into a booth with any of our guests and
(41:26):
be right at home. And I think from the some
of the submissions I've heard, we're gonna be able to
find that. I believe that. I believe that too. I
share that sentiment. We are. We have a lot of
work ahead of us, but it's going to be a blast,
and I think everyone's going to be really excited about
the contest too when they started listening to what we
have in store for you guys. Oh, I can't wait.
(41:47):
So thank you everybody for joining us once again. Thank
you THEO for joining us and taking the time. Don't forget.
