Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
And you want experience during your football season, well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in the world.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
This is I want your flex.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
With Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break
down everything you need to set your lineups, from position
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's get your flexod Here's
Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Welcome to Championship Weekend. It is I want your flex
at Mike up at Swollen Dome on exit them up
and on Blue Sky at Mike Harmon. You can find
me on Blue Sky at Dan Bayer b E y
E R and on X at Dan Byer on Fox.
We do have to start with that monstrosity of a game.
(00:53):
Where was the monsters of the Midway And I don't
know what the Seahawks and Bears provided, so monstrosity seemed
to fit Mike your my Seahawks. Maybe the best outcome
for us both, but it did take I guess the
good news is it took two and a half hours
off of our life on Thursday night and not three hours,
because at least it was a quick game in that
six ' three matchup.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Fortunately, I had a good second screen experience my daughter
and I, you know, because I'm a holiday holiday holiday
stopping down here, So I had the Bears on one
screen in the first Captain America movie on the other.
So I at least had a little bit of action
and entertainment along the way in the six ' to
three barn Burner. But as I posted on Twitter as
(01:33):
I was watching it, because you know, you'd scroll and
you'd see all the commentary about how bad it was, Dan,
It's like, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
What, nobody's forced you to watch this. Sure if you
don't want to do this, go away.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
It's like all of the you know, the complaining about
where the games are being streamed or whatever else. Like
once upon a time, you were good with the three
you got each week, and you didn't complain. You watched
George Michael fire up the sporting machine, right, you know,
the George Michael's sports machine. At the end of the night,
you saw a couple more highlights, and then you went
(02:05):
on with your day and you read the newspaper. But
here was oh, this is this and this and this's
like shut up, go watch something else. There's plenty of
holiday movie marathons on. You can go watch whatever Harry
Potter is being streamed, and.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
You can be done with it. Okay, it's two seventy two.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Maybe this ranks last, but they're almost done, So celebrate
them for what they are.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
I'll tell you what. There was a lot on the
line for my Seahawks and your Bears keep positioning in
the draft, so that's good for them. But for fantasy
football wise, there were some players I was one of
my buddies was texting me in our long you know,
our longtime league. He was going up against Seahawks defense,
(02:48):
and so it's just like you're hoping for well for
his sake, he's just come on, Bears, do something. Because
of the three points that they only had on the board,
which was not good for him. The sacks ended up
hurting him and he just is like man, and he
had some other stuff he had. He went up against
Derrick Henry on Christmas Day, so he's off to a
(03:10):
bad start and he said death by one thousand paper cuts.
Because Mike, this is only day two. There was only
day two of our five day window of games that
we have here in week seventeen. It's a lot. I mean,
Saturday will three more get off the board, and then
you go to Sunday and then obviously the Monday night
are with the Lions and forty nine ers to likely
(03:33):
wrap up a lot of fantasy seasons. But yeah, it's
gonna be a long week. And Thursday night didn't make
it any shorter, I'll tell you that much.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
No, And that's just that's the worst of it, right,
is that if you played anybody now you're over You're
gonna overthink every other roster spot you've got going right,
the extra wide receiver, the extra flex, whatever the case
may be.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
It's what's on the wire, what's.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Sitting on the bench, and really the best and worst
of it, right, because you really need to show self control,
something none of us do at the holidays in any regard.
But you know, watching this one play out, it was interesting.
I mean I commented only a couple of times in
(04:17):
the Twitter verse just on third down calls that just
left me laughing. But both quarterbacks it combined for fifty
one pass attempts. How many of them were screen passes.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Or behind the line of scrimmage, you know, just it
was it was bad a lot.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
My daughter was just laughing at me, Dan, like just
because I'm still living and dying with it, Like what
are we doing? And again, as you said, for both teams,
exactly the result you wanted. You got your win at
the Seahawks. Was it pretty hell? No, but it rained.
It was miserable. Your defense did all the kid hoped
to do. You piled up seven sacks. You get the
(04:59):
laid in how they're not trotting. I don't care what
the footing is. If that guy can't one time try
a fifty seven yard field goal, or your quarterback can't
back up enough to where he can launch one fifty
seven yards to the end zone, what the hell are
we doing but clock management once again for the Bears. Look,
(05:20):
it's a broken record. We've been watching it all year.
DeAndre Swift, let me run nine yards that way. Caleb
Williams still thinking after nine straight losses, he can evade
people with that little curl, move back to the inside
and run past people. No, wait, that guy's waiting for
me and he's going to attack me. So yeah, DJ
Moore six for fifty four. I guess as you're three,
(05:44):
you take your eleven point four and you move on,
but you're obviously hoping for more Keenan Allen and been
playing well seven point five ain't getting it done Roma Dunes.
They had to catch obviously the touchdown taking off the
board that everybody's still salty. I was like, man, the
offensive line is only one part of a grand maze
(06:04):
full of problems here, you know, not to mention the
GM that's still allegedly going to get to hire the
next head coach. But that's that's a whole, other, whole
other thing. And that DK Metcalp, How the hell was
he still on the field, Dan, I mean, he's your guy,
but yeah, how many swipes in a guy's head plus
ahead butt do you get before you're injecked.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I guess you know. And when you're you're only good
good for three catches for twenty three yards or whatever
it was on U on Thursday, And I had to like,
we might also keep him in the game because it's
not going to make any other difference otherwise. So they
so they ended up doing so, And yeah, kept jawing
three for forty two. I actually I short changed a couple,
(06:45):
but oh well, yeah, not much.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Locke it three for twenty, Noah fans had the same
play run repeatedly. Uh hey, Zach Sharbonet, I guess at
least got you what seventy six? He's over ten points,
so as at RB two, I guess you grit your teeth.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
And move on.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, but yeah, you still have three more days of
football that you have to suffer on account.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Hopefully the damage was not much on Thursday night. I
will say this, what is interesting about the Seahawks six
and one on the road this season pretty crazy. They
actually haven't been good at home. Lions are unbeaten at home.
Kansas City seven and one, Minnesota is six and one.
But the Seahawks, and they've got their final game of
the year is on the road against the Rams, which
(07:30):
could be it'll be for all the marbles in the
NFC West. If the Rams lose on Saturday night, it
may be for all of the marbles, with some caveats
if the Rams end up winning. Rams have the edge
with the strength of schedule. You may have heard Al
Michaels talk a little bit about it on the broadcast,
but essentially there's about six games on Saturday and six
(07:51):
or seven and the Seahawks need like three of those
games to really go their way to end up changing
the strength of schedule format. And because of that, they're
usually the better teams that have to lose. They need
those better teams to end up getting a loss, so
it would lessen what the what the Rams have. So
we'll see, we'll see, we'll see what happens. But still
(08:14):
Seahawks are still in it somehow, some way after that
disaster of a game on Thursday night. Let's see, we.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Say, Dan though, let's always succeed in proceed I gotta
ask the one last question out of this because the
the booth. I wanted your perception of the booth on
the famous fumble that ends up getting returned to the touchdown,
crowd responses, whatever, And it was pretty clear as day
what had actually happened, and they got the ruling right
out the third at Bite at the Apple. Yeah, but
(08:42):
it seemed like Michael, you know, l Michael's and Kirkurbstreet
were to enamored with the crowd and making fun of
them to actually pay attention to anything that was happening
on them.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, it was such a weird it was such a
weird play that there wasn't This is now I like
Herb Street, and Herbstreet's had a rough couple of weeks.
I get it. Waiting doesn't matter, Dan, Yeah, whinning doesn't matter.
I get there. And there's he's not liked in Columbus
right now. And but the point being is, I think
(09:12):
that those are opportunities that you have to jump in
and kind of take the wheel. You have to say,
hold on a sec. We haven't there are no refs
that are following anybody down the field. This place, you know,
still may be live, and that didn't happen, and so
they're just wondering. And then you get the announcement and
it's like, oh surprise, and Tyler Lockett's yelling you blew
(09:32):
the whistle. And then the replay was clear as day.
You know that he that he was down and down
by contact, And I guess Mike is a situation like
that where they're like, okay, let's just call it a
touchdown and then we'll review it.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Well you wit and post, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Well they could have just they could have, honestly, just
like they could have just split the difference and said
it was a turnover called a debt at the spot,
which would have allowed them to review because it was
a turnover, but wouldn't have given them the score. And
in that, you know, that's the point of I understand,
not just like giving them a team a touchdown because
(10:08):
you can have an opportunity to review it, because sometimes
camera angles are blocked or something happens, But that to
me probably would have been the most sufficient way for
the officiating to handle it. Now, in the end, the
call was right, but yeah, it was kind of a
mess all around, and the booth really didn't do anything
to provide any clarity at all for us.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
So yeah, just an amazing, amazing run, one of two,
seventy two done. Congratulations on still being alive. And for
the Bears and their Bears fans, once they sleep this
one off, they'll realize this was for the best. Sometimes
you have to hit what might even be a lower
rock bottom than you could have ever anticipated.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Let's get to Mike Carmen's rankings for Championship Week in
many leagues in Week seventeen, we've already got six teams
off the board, so we'll have to deal with the
other two six. Mike Corey, your top five quarterbacks for
Week seventeen.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
All right, let's get it started.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
Joe Burrow going up against Denver, second worst over the
last four being able to throw the ball on wing
it all around the yard. One of the few teams
that we can say nobody's on the injury report that
I saw today in terms of those big principal players
Dan because we've got big names being taken off the
board that were on my original scripts for my rankings,
(11:27):
and Cold Soares and you name it.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
But Burrow goes number one, number two.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
We're going to go back to Josh Allen week sixteen,
say that really fast against New England. But you're looking
at over the first meeting, he was at two fifteen
and two eighteen rushing yards, using his legs, making plays.
Going up against the Jets, expect a bigger effort here,
and with Baltimore having already won, you know, it's all
(11:51):
about the jockeying for position. And as much as folks
want to push the MVP talk away, tell me he
doesn't want to be superhuman against the Jets.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Squad where there's still a lot of squawking.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Number three Baker Mayfield going up against Carolina, You've got
two hundred and eighty eight or more yards. Three straight games,
nine total touchdowns there, Carolina eighth most over the last
four weeks allowed to quarterbacks Jadan Daniels four straight multi
touchdown games, and what does Atlanta do? They give up
passing touchdowns? Opportunity here for him, and then you look
(12:24):
at the injured mess. This is where you might have
been looking at Richardson, you might have been looking at
Jalen Urts. I don't know that either of we're gonna
play Dan, so putting up the number five spot here
for me ends up becoming by default. We've got Jared
Goff against the banged up San Francisco forty nine ers.
(12:45):
It's not one I really love because it gets into
a bit of a muddled mess here based on matchups
and injury issues. But looking at what they've had, Jamir
Gibbs has been their their key runner and we'll get
to him in a minute. Spreading the ball around to
fit effectively. Monster numbers haven't been there, but the matchup
(13:05):
is solid because I after being eliminated last week, I
don't know how much fights left in San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah, you're absolutely right. I think of any of the
teams that just want the season to end, it's the
forty nine ers, So I don't think the Lions are
gonna lose the rest of the way. I think that
if they play Minnesota with everything on the line, I
think that they'll beat them in Week eighteen. But we've
talked about our questions with them, and maybe that ends
(13:31):
up coming up in the playoffs. But I agree with you,
I don't see it happening in week seventeen.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Nothing else.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
It gives us some fantasy gold short term, and if
you're gonna use week eighteen, boy, I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
To see what that looks like. No defense being played.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Let's get yeah, let's go to the running backs miike
for Week seventeen. Who is on top.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
We'll start with Sakwan Barkley, just on his route towards
Eric Dickerson, who did a lot of press of it's
my record, well no recognizing it, but he made sure
to get into it.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Would be seventeen games.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
One hundred plus in eight of his ten games, he's
got six touchdowns and six of them going up against
Dallas grudge match. Let's keep the line moving and again
with with Hurts a bit banged up, Kenny Pickett was
back at practice, but either way, I still see a
lot of two steps to Sakuan this week. Bjeonn Robinson,
he's having himself a run. You look at the last
(14:22):
four weeks twenty two, twenty two, two twenty six carries,
ninety two or more rushing yards four straight game. I
know Washington's ten the best against running backs here over
the last four weeks. But an opportunity here for Bjeon Robinson,
because look, they're they're going to the run game. They're
they're gonna let Pennis take a shots, but it's gonna
(14:42):
be predicated on running the football. First three, Kyron Williams
going up against Arizona. He's got touchdowns four of his
last five, three one hundred yard games during that time.
Arizona another team like San Francisco. What's left Dan? But
the last fall so. Fourth, Jonathan Taylor gave us a
big two eighteen and three. He's got ninety six or
(15:04):
more rushing yards three straight games. New York Giants third,
ninth most allowed over the last four weeks, ninth most
so an opportunity there. And number five. I told you,
mister Gibbs Woody back. If nothing else, I may have
watched Pirates of the Caribbean or gone on.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
The ride earlier this week.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Either way, Jamiir Gibbs gets to go in first one
hundred yard game last week. It was his first since
Week eight, multiple receptions five straight, and San Francisco played
out the string tenth most Fantasy points allowed to running
backs over the last.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Four Again, Spice is scattered all over this schedule just
because of the funkiness of the weekend. In fact, in
the late window that we've got on Sunday, Mike, just
two games. Yeah, it's Packers Vikings and Dolphins Browns. Sorry,
I got the Yeah, let's say, what are you gonna do?
But Packers Vikings should be interesting enough to at least follow.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Yes, that's true.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Maybe there's gonna be a wide receiver from that game
in your top five rankings. We're about to find out, Mike,
your top five wide receivers for week seventeen.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
All right, we started off with Jamar Chase. Let's pair
him up with number one Joe Burrow. Five or more
receptions every week since Week five, seventy five plus receiving yards,
six straight tds five or six. Do I need to
go on just absolutely murdering it right now? And they're
still alive in the hunt. I'm on ross A Brown
going up against San Francisco touchdowns back to back weeks. Yeah,
(16:26):
he's had a number of games with fewer than sixty
receiving yards, but we're looking at five or more receptions
eighth straight, So we'll take the easy bonus.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Points and move on.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Pooka Nakua against Arizona, five or more receptions, seven straight
for him, ninety seven or more receiving yards and five
of them again, Arizona, What do you got left? Brian
Thomas Junior? Because you know, I just want to celebrate
something good, excellent. Why not seventy six or more, five straight,
thirty six receptions in his last five games going up
(16:57):
against the Tennessee squad that's been fairly solid against the
pass all year long. But look, mac Jones just knows
get the ball up to the kid and let him
go get it. And finally, you know, I split hairs,
like part of me wants that. Justin Jefferson against the Packers.
Looking what he's done over these last weeks, seven, seven, seven, ten,
(17:20):
I mean we're rolling sevens.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
All over the place.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Yeah, two hundred and thirty receiving yards or more twice
during this period. Yeah, we'll give him the nod over
Mike Evans, who gets an honorable mention against Carolina, because
I've had a number of questions about him this week.
So thanks for listening, folks, thirty one receptions over his
last five and trying to get him back to one
thousand yards. Oh, by the way, the pesky division win
(17:45):
still needs to run through the Mayfield and Evans combination.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
There it is your top five. Who they are, your
top five quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers for Week seventeen.
We aren't done. Mike isn't done. Ian Roddey are executive producer,
is done. He's not going to appear on the podcast,
but we do have his streaming defenses coming up later on.
We'll also give you a little survivor update, some interesting
happenings for some big big bucks. Plus we'll have a
(18:11):
pick there that's all coming up next right here. And
I Want Your Flex. Welcome back to I Want Your Flex.
He's Mike Carmon, I'm Dan Beyer. We've got the rankings
out of the way, Mike. Now we got to get
to the guys outside of the top five again. Championship
weekend and a lot of leagues. Let's get to it
your hot plays for week seventeen.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Let's go to bo Nicks and going up against Cincinnati
two sixty three and two, going up against the Chargers
and then it all bogged down but multiple touchdowns and
five of his last six games. I know Cincinnati has
been surging of late eighth best against quarterbacks these last four,
but upgoing season long, I'm looking at him to make
plays with his legs and create some chaos. Matthew Stafford
(18:52):
going up against Arizona back to back quiet games two
sixteen and zero touchdowns their first meet, but Arizona seventh
most allowed to fantasy quarterbacks over the last four and
before his two games stretch against the forty nine Ers
and Jets, Stafford had gone thrown multiple touchdown passes in
six to seven games. I'm looking for him to end
(19:14):
the year strong. Chase Brown going up against Denver eighty
six or more yards four of his last five with
four touchdowns. Denver amid rushing deef It's given about ninety
one total yards per game with a touchdown per so
we get an opportunity there. Devon eight Chan going up
against Cleveland and ninety total yards against San Francisco. He's
got touchdowns in seven of his last nine games. That's
(19:36):
what I'm banking on. Opportunity from point in blank range
once again, even though you're looking at Cleveland that's been
strong this last month, getting passed on a bit, but
the run game against running backs been pretty strong. Chuba
Hubbard going up against Tampa one hundred and fifty two
and two against Arizona only twelve for forty three in
their first meeting, befeeding the ball. They're playing better football
(19:59):
down the stretch, little more balanced opportunity guy I have listed,
but I've got a giant riddler like question mark but
all over him, and that's DeVante Adams touchdowns and four
straight games five or more receptions.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
I mean, he's got a streak rolling on here.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
And you look at over the last four Buffalo and
they're they're giving up points, right, They're giving up opportunities.
We've seen it weekend week out. Obviously, the injury status
is there a lot of speculation of operations shut down.
I don't think he goes into the good night unless
old number eight does too. But this is one the
hang a star on towards game day, Lad McConkie going
(20:38):
against New England five or more receptions five straight games. Look,
you do run the numbers and take a look at
what the Patriots have done against wide receivers. They're the
best in the game over the last four weeks. I'm
just banking on some PPR love here to get you
over and maybe one with a bit of yak, which
is what we've seen Bucky Irving. We'd be remiss if
(20:59):
we didn't at least give him a little bit of
a nod given what he's meant to fantasy owners over
the year, and now he gets to take you to
championship mode against Carolina.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Man, he was a guy that I saw and you know,
again we've talked about it, we'll probably talk about it
at the end of the year. But I underestimated the
value of one Bucky Irving with the Buccaneers, you know,
and the other thing with DeVante Adams. And I think
it's a legitimate reason. With the question mark, it looked
like Aaron Rodgers was going to leave the game against
the Rams in Week sixteen, you know, with his injuries
(21:30):
and what he's dealing with, and at some point if
they're getting you know, blasted by the Bills, which the
Bills with a win then can wrap up that two
seed and not have to worry about anything else and
get maybe a week off before they play that finale
against New England. Yeah, I could be interesting to see
and what the Jets do in that situation definitely something
(21:50):
to monitor. Let's get to the cold source, Mike, the
guys you got to keep out of your lineups. You
don't want to see, you don't want to touch, you
don't want anything to do with. In Week seventeen, Jordan
Love right off the jump. Why because I like chaos.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Even though he's gone five straight games without an interception,
congratulations for multiple touchdown games in the last six. This
is one where you're talking about one of the top
defenses in football. They'll blitz him, they'll get after him
and create a bit of chaos. So we'll see how
the Green Bay offense adapts. So I'm staying away from
this one to going up against Cleveland back to back,
(22:26):
quiet weeks for him. You've got a middling Cleveland defense
given about seventeen fantasy points per game, but we've ridden
that roller coaster all year long. I'm not expecting a
crest in Championship week on the road because you know what, Dan,
It'll be cold.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
So while all of them can talk about how it
doesn't matter, there's a reason that.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
All of the the.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Touts and all of the prognosticators bring up the weather
so frequently it matters Breeshall going up against Buffalo. I
take Caim and I take Garrett Wilson to other because
I'm not banking on on a huge number. I mean,
you're looking at eighty or more rushing yards for all year,
eighty or less in all but one game, which is
(23:11):
just insane.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Now, sunk me in a guillotine league, you know. So, yeah,
it's not been good.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
There you go like him, No, just agreed, Let's just
send Let's just send him to fantasy hell, fantasy jail
for the year. But take along with him Garrett Wilson. Right,
you've had this massive run up from Aaron Rodgers. He
played pretty good football the second half of the season.
Quietly everybody, you know, the speculation obviously he's doing all
(23:39):
his media appearances and throwing stuff up in the air
about teenagers and whatever else. He's actually played some pretty
good football. But you're looking at Garrett Wilson one touchdown
in six, a lot of speculation that he's salty about
his spot and wants out, and in these last six
games he's only gone over sixty receiving yards once. I'm
not banking on a re peak performance here. How about
(24:02):
Aaron Jones going back at Green Bay touchdowns three of
his last five. You know, you're looking at his first
one hundred yard game since Week three, and there's been
some pretty good moments along the way. This one forty
eight and a half is an interesting number. So the
fact that I've got cold sores in it is like
just trying to read the tea leave. Maybe it's just
(24:22):
hate of the rest of the NFC North. I don't
know Dan, but Jones a guy. I mean, he's still
going to be a mid to back back in RB two,
I would just temper the expectations against the Green Bay
d that's been really good.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
That game is gonna be off the charts good, you know,
for as much as I want to complain again about
that being a two game window. And by the way,
in Cleveland, you may have to worry more about rain
than actual snow of anything. But still to worry about.
But that Vikings Packers game at US Bank is going
to be a dandy coming up on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Last I saw Packers the the narrow one point favorite
on the road. So no respect for the cruising or
seemingly cruising home team. Ramadre Stevenson because we don't mention
him often enough. I first touchdown since Week nine, his
last game of eighty or more rushing yards week five
going against Chargers D.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
We did mention him in the last pot because that
was the guy that I had stock and remember that
was oh yeah, that was the one there. I'm like, hey,
I looked you know the way that I the way
the Patriots dealt with him in the off season, signing
him to that deal. Let's young quarterback, let's grind it out.
Yeah it did not happen.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
We're gonna get your twenty five touches a game. Let's go.
You're guy, And.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
By the way, if you missed game one on Saturday
morning with the Patriots and Chargers, don't worry about it.
You know you're good with us. All right, Let's get
to the Ninjas. Okay, yeah, let's get to the Ninjas
for that.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Yeah, Ninjas for the week.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Brock Perdy going up against Detroit, just looking for a
little bit of chaos while the team as a homemade quit.
He's got a lot of people watch his every move
in Detroit with Buffalo two of the worst past defenses
fantasy wise against quarterbacks of late. Mac Jones going up
against Tennessee two hundred and twenty eight passing yards are
(26:12):
more four straight, which actually in twenty four is a
feat in the National Football League, believe it or not,
not just for him, but in general. I'm seeing a
lot of high one hundreds in people's game logs. Two
multi touchdown games during this streak, by the way, first
meeting two hundred twenty yards in a couple of interceptions.
(26:34):
But you're looking at a Tennessee defense give they take
away about eighteen points per game, six interceptions, seven touchdowns
in the last four.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
How about Comani.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Vidal Gus Edwards has been shelved for the game against
New England. You do have the expectation that JK. Dobbins
is back in some form, But are you gonna bring
him off ir and immediately give him thirty carries?
Speaker 1 (26:57):
No?
Speaker 4 (26:57):
So Vadal twenty carries over his life, I think there's
an opportunity here, more so for your daily you know,
dollar play for daily Fantasy, and only in acts of
sheer desperation in your straight league, because if you end
up winning a league because he goes off, then you're
gonna be spiking on folks at.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
New Year's if it's gonna be crazy.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
How about tad Jay Spears going up at Jacksonville back
to back double digit touch games for him with three
touchdowns thirteen receptions over the last three That's where I'm
looking for him to make some noise. Jalen McMillan, we've
talked about a lot. Fourteen receptions, four touchdowns in his
last three games. He'll be active once again. Price shot
on Marvin Mims to tie him up with bo Nix
(27:41):
over there in the hot plays three or more receptions
for straight games. And then finally, we don't know about
Malik Neighbors. One of our usual suspects early on in
the year, Dan so wan Dale Robinson fifteen catches get this,
thirty two targets in the last three weeks.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
And he was a guy that you even touched on
earlier in the year, especially when Neighbors was out with
that concussion. So now you know another opportunity for.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Them target opportunities.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Right, all we can ask for is chances to make
a play and if nothing else, take our cheap.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Like the Bears Seahawks game.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
I'll take my screen pass one for four yards and
just multiply that a few times.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
By the way, if and this is no offense to
Vidal or Spears or McMillan, but if you win your
fantasy league because of those guys, I think you have
to get their jersey. Like that has to happen. Yeah,
I mean, like you don't have to do it if
it's Jamar Chase or Justin Jefferson or Saquon Barkley. But
(28:43):
if it's Vidal or Spears and they go off and
they give you the title, I think it's only fitting
that you at least contribute to their the little portion
that they would get from jersey sales.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
And to make sure that you send your screenshots of
your team rosters along, I'll find a trading card of them. Yeah,
that'll be my reminder, so you could put it up
on your board as you go back to the draft
draft rooms of next fall.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
That is one of the neat things we've seen, you know,
when one NFL team beats another NFL team to allow
that other NFL team to get into the playoffs. You know,
like when the Bengals beat the Ravens that year to
end the Bills playoff drought, and then all the Buffalo
fans were sending money to Andy Dalton's charity. Oh yeah,
that season. You know a lot of different things. You
could do the same thing fantasy wise. I know people
(29:34):
will suggest that at time or two. Or you could
just be like me and be greedy and keep it
all yourself. That's all. Whatever way you want to.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Rollpoil yourself for your brilliant standby.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
There it is. You earned it, your hot plays, cold soars,
and ninja's. For Week seventeen, we aren't done well, love
Ian Roddy streaming defenses. Plus I'll try to give you
some information as well as we wrap up our entering
championship week. We know there's some championship go two weeks
and something that go week eighteen, but for the most part,
this is where the winning happens. And we'll have more
(30:05):
for you next right here, and I want your flex
all right, let's get to the streaming defenses. Mike do
you want to do the honors with Ian's infall or sure?
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Let me okay, dial it up. I'll do my best Ian.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Okay, Hey, Ian, are you on Blue Sky yet?
Speaker 3 (30:22):
No?
Speaker 1 (30:24):
You're perfect though.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Well, he either goes one of two ways. He's gonna
give you an immediate reaction, or he's gonna hem in
hall yes and lets you sweat it out a second
before going no. The British guy can still come in
and steal a meals like it.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
All right, let's get to uh, let's get to Ian's
streaming defenses for the week.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
All right, Well, we're gonna go to the Chargers first
fifty five roster. They're a four point road favorite at
New England. That's my editorialism. Forty two and a half
is your total. You're looking at one of the best
defenses in the NFL for weeks. Right, for the entire season,
we've watched them in terms of points allowed being dingy.
While Drake May is good for a rookie quarterbacks, no
(31:03):
weapons and the terrible offensive line. He's on a seven
game interception streak, so opportunity there, and they've topped out
at twenty five points scored since May took over in
Week six, like that's their their max. So opportunity here
for the Chargers d I would agree with them. I
(31:24):
think right, we're looking at an offensive line that should
be under duress, Chargers still playing for stuff. I did
like the Harbaugh quote from earlier on Thursday talking about, hey,
they got blood pumping through and he goes, I'm not
a doctor, so I probably got all the biology wrong.
But the whole point is they're football players. It may
be cold, get over it.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah, it's football, That's what it is. What it is people.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Exactly who's got it better than us?
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Yeah? Unfortunately nobody really Chargers. Yes, I am right, all right.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
The other streaming defense, he raises up. This one's a
bit of a price shot. So ready for it. Ready,
wait for it, Wait for it. The Las Vegas Raiders
one and a half point favorites. The last I looked
on the road at New Orleans is the Vegas given
points to anybody?
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Thirty seven and a half is your total?
Speaker 1 (32:18):
What's the reasoning? What's Ian's reasoning?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
The Saints are just coming out of the shutout by
the Packers, right the first of twenty twenty four. You
and I got to be on air together at Fox
Sports Radio for that historic moment. He just comes back
over the top. They're playing against the Saints twelve rosters.
Kamara's questionable to play, but he's probably gonna be sidelined, saying,
(32:42):
since it would make they've got nothing to play for,
so makes sense to keep him sidelined at this point,
which leaves them devoid of true playmakers. And now I'm extrapolating.
He gave us some very very yes, sparse notes on
this one, just saying more or less I'm reading the
link and says the Saints are not good.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
I was gonna say, if you're in a championship game
and you want to stream the Raiders, more power to you.
Like like that, that's gonna be your prerogative. That's what
you're going to live by. Go right ahead.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Wait, I got to look it up though. Right as
we're sitting here, it's late on Thursday. Obviously, depending on
how you do your rankings, a lot of folks putting
them in early, right the quote, experts, analysts, whatever. Sometimes
you know it's day to day, right, Yeah, this waiting
on injury reports and you make the adjustments to kind
(33:37):
of show the strength or weakness of what you think
of those first early matchups. So as of right now,
the Raiders are ranked seventh for the week by need okay,
by the entirety of the industry. And this is well,
it says thirty thirty one people out of one hundred available.
So this is the consensus that it gave me, and
(33:57):
maybe I have to pay for.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
More and more our thoughts decent little you know snapshot.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
Hey, it's a it's a viable, viable statistical yeah you
know category here because we've got more than thirty in
our sample size. So it's Indianapolis at the top against
the Giants, Miami at Cleveland, Philly at versus Dallas at home,
Chargers at New England. So number four, number seven are
(34:25):
Ian's picked here. Number five was the Seahawks tonight against
the Bears, number six Buffalo versus the Jets, and number seven.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
The Las Vegas Raiders. No there it is, so wow,
how about that?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
All right? Ian good good, good work.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
But yeah, so with no Max Crosby, hell yeah, it's gutsy.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Plus that means you're probably keeping an eye on Saints
Raiders on Sunday. Again. With such a limited schedule, I
guess things could be worse. I don't know if that's
really the case.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
It's only twenty nine remaining.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yes, that's true. Well, I'll tell you in a similar
similar boat with survivor pools. It's funny the circa survivor pool.
You know, that's like fourteen million dollars there are I
believe thirty five entries remaining. So Week seventeen is a
double pick week where they have double picked the first
(35:21):
three games, and now you go into the Saturday, Sunday,
and Monday will be a separate pick. You had forty
five entries entering the week, and twenty pick the Seahawks,
eleven picked the Ravens, six pick the Bears, four pick
the Steelers, three pick the Chiefs, and one pick the Texans.
So eleven dropped out, so that leaves thirty four left
(35:44):
for the remaining schedule. And I would think that a
bunch are either going to be on the Titans or Jaguars,
where you wouldn't have those selections, And I'm signing with
the Jaguars in this one just because they're at home.
I actually think Tennessee's person now probably plays a little
bit better, but I'm going to give the Jaguars the
home nod for my Survivor pick, Mike, My points of
(36:06):
Palooza is going to be Sunday Night Football, Falcons Commanders.
Let's see Michael Pennix kind of open up in this
rookie quarterback battle, have a little bit more more fun.
I know it's probably behooves the Falcons to give you
a lot of Bijon and give you a lot of
Tyler l gear, But I still think there's gonna be
(36:27):
some points. Washington gives them up. We've seen saw it
last week against the Eagles, even with Kenny Pickett in
the game. So let's see if Let's see if that
ends up becoming the points of Palosa. The highest point
total for the over unders this week was forty nine
Ers and Lions heading into this one, and so points
of Bealoza that I try to pick is usually not
the top overall. So we're going to go a little
(36:49):
less with the Falcons and Commanders right now at forty
seven and a half.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Oh I dig that.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
Yeah, Wait, that's the game. I love the fact that
over the last few days and throughout the week able
to lean into the advertising again. We don't get caught
up in a ton of it, Dan, but that they're
able to really showcase. Hey, Jayden Daniels, right, first Sunday
night football game, you gotta we gotta want to see this.
(37:14):
You gotta watch what this kid's doing. Because we had
that lull in the middle of the season. I was like, oh,
it's another second half Kingsbury job. And you know, as
we talked about in the top five, four straight multiple touchdown,
winging the ball around Terry McLaurin his opportunities, I want
to say he's twenty sixth, right, I was going to
make mention of that in the in the rankings and
(37:36):
all twenty sixth in terms of chances. He's got twelve touchdowns,
So he's making the most of the opportunities and he's
showing out. And Daniels, you know, has been unflappable. You
can say a lot, you know, over the course of
the year, and I know all the you know, I'm
gonna do the all twenty two kind of die, you know,
(37:58):
diet tribes and whatever else, and the kid just keeps
getting up and that's all and that's all you can
ask for. So in this one against Pennix, Pennix, Wreck
has to recognize what's here too, right, you got a
playoff opportunity and you got a national stage to go
and wing it around and go big arm for big arms.
So yeah, forty eight and a half in the total
(38:19):
is what i'd seen. But forty seven and a half
maybe earlier in the week where or later maybe I
was just too early on it. But you got another
forty eight Green Bay, Minnesota. You got another forty eight
and a half Carolina Tampa, which is insane.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Yeah, forty nine and a half with Denver Cincinnati, and
then the fifty and a half with Detroit and San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Yeah, there's a couple others in the high thirties and all.
But for Fantasy Championship.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Week, I think you got a slate that he I mean,
you may not love the matchups, you know, at least
looking at the eye test and going nih but Vegas
is telling you we're gonna get some big point totals
for your fantasy rosters. So it may it'll recover nicely
from what we saw on Thursday.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Night on our Oasis Pick of the Week. I have
tried to hold off on the big hits, the big
songs until it's appropriate, and my use of Wonderwall was
perfect because it was Josh Allen in the week that
he had six touchdowns, So I was very very fulfilled
(39:23):
with that. Mike. You actually, I guess confirmed my original thought.
My Champagne Supernova, who I've kept for Week seventeen because
it's Championship week and if you win, you're going to
be popping Champagne Pooka Nakua wide receiver Los Angeles Rams.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Oh, let's go.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
I just I think that that is in a game
that the Rams must have the Vision opponent Saturday night,
Matthew Stafford's going to who he trusts and it is
going to be a lot of Poka nakua, and I
expect him to have a monster game on Saturday Night.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
He since he came back from his injury, Dan has
eight or more targets in all but one game, the
game against Seattle, and.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
He was even digged up, you know a little bit
in that game. Came back in and yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:15):
Yeah, I missed some time during that game, though, But
otherwise you're looking at three double digits and a bunch
of eights and nines on the board. So all we
can talk about is opportunity, right three to one three
yard games, a couple others over ninety yards, opportunity presents itself.
So there you go, Champagne toasts New Year's Eve because
(40:37):
of Pokin Nika.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Let's be honest, this team was going nowhere at the
start of the season and part of the reason was
because of Nikoua's absence when he got hurt in that
Lions game. And they've been great the second half of
the year, and we'll see if they can not to
my Seahawks. It would be great if they could lose
and stink. I just don't think it's going to happen
Saturday night, and I think Pookin Nakua is going to
have a game. So all right there. It is your
(40:59):
week's seventeen primer for Championship Week, just to give you
a heads up on how things roll here, and I
want your flex. Mike and I are with you for
double episodes heading into week eighteen as well, and then
once playoffs start, will be with you for once a
week with an episode taking a look back at the
playoff games and then looking ahead. So the week that
is ahead in that postseason, but should be fun. Season's
(41:21):
gone quick, but we're already here Mike at the.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
End, grinding through it and lots of lessons learned, the
resurgence of the running game and the fact that I boy,
I really like to gamble when it comes to my
fantasy lineups that I put together a lot of young
guys that I banked on. Dan, I need to go
back to trusting people with some experience, but we'll do
(41:46):
the lessons learned at the end.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
But yeah, this season has gone by so fast.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
We're gonna have to find a half happy medium because
I felt like I trusted the old reliables too much
and missed out on some of the youth movement. But
that's what fantasy football is. So anyway, thanks to Ian Roddy,
who is not on air with us today, we gave
us his information and for Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Byer.
Good lucky Championship week and we'll talk to you on
(42:12):
the other side of Week seventeen here on Ilanga Flex
