Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and Jules.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
You want experience during your football season, Well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Byer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
To starts and sits. The guys help you make those
hard decisions.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
And now let's get your flex ond. Here's Dan Bayer
and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Hitting the home stretch here of the NFL season. Get
Mike on ex at Swollen Dome. We can find me
at Dan Bayer on Fox Blue Sky also an option,
He's at Mike Carman. I'm at Dan Bayer. Ian Roddy
is our executive producer, finding him on exit. Ian Roddy
underscore Mike. Before we get into the other games of
Week fifteen, Rams Niners, NFCUUS showdown both of these teams
(00:57):
coming off of monumental wins the week prior and final
score twelve six. Yeah, that's a rough way to start
a fantasy playoff if you had any Niners or Rams
on your team.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Cooper Cup the Night zero Yeah, three targets, zero catches,
nic who at least had the fifty one yarder to
push him up to a ninety seven yards on the night.
But yeah, otherwise it's a day for kickers and I
guess ian defenses. Not that there was a bevy of
turnovers in this or big plays that way, but the
(01:31):
points allowed. Maybe get a little bit of juice there,
but all in one of those games that we'll be
able to say, well, it was one of two hundred
and seventy two. It had great meaning for the Rams
because coming into it, like we've talked the last couple
of weeks, guys, and you're trying to come off of
big Sundays and we're prognosticating ahead and going, well, big
(01:54):
emotional win. How does that matter days later? Right? So
for the Rams, a lot of juice, a lot of energy,
all of that to hold off the Bills and eventually
win that game in what was one of the most
entertaining games. By way of contrast, we get this tonight,
but the forty nine ers they had an easy run, right.
(02:15):
The Bears basically laid down and played dead for the
better part of four quarters. So coming in Mike, I
was told the forty nine ers are back on track.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yes, this is that was the forty nine ers team
that we all expected last week. Oh that was the narrative.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Well we could be heroes just for one day. But yeah,
like I thought the forty nine ers could win the game,
Like I figured it would be sloppy. I wasn't expecting like,
what was the total forty eight and a half, Like,
there's no way I was thinking we were approaching that
coming off of the you know, because the forty nine
ers been grossly inconsistent. We watched that all year long,
(02:54):
and again the rams coming out of that game, divisional game,
all of the those things, factoring in thinking would we
wouldn't get you know, one that was the most esthetically pleasing.
But yeah, the forty nine ers, you know, we did
a bit tonight and Smith declared them dead. I go,
all right, this iteration. It'll be interesting to see what
(03:15):
twenty twenty five becomes. But we got three more games
to ride it out. You got a guy quitting in
the middle of the game. That became the focal point
as opposed to the fact that they now only have
one percent chance to make the playoffs. But yeah, for
fantasy purposes, this was an absolute train wreck. If you started.
Anybody thinking you were going to get some jews. Stafford
(03:36):
should have been in negative territory. The interceptions that got
dropped Purty changed the trajectory on the big throw down
the sideline to Jennings would have been a tough catch,
but you know what, I wish you would have had
a chance to make it. Instead, it's an interception falling
into the end zone and again field goals.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, I thought the forty Niners are dead weeks ago,
and Ian and I were just talking and I sent
a sweet out that all the talk is going to
be about Devondre Campbell. But this was now over for
everyone to see. This is it like they needed to
win tonight. For those that believe the forty nine ers
were the team last week, that they were on their
(04:17):
comeback trail, this was your dose of back to reality.
I mean, we know the Rams and Niners always played
great games, Mike, but six points, you know they Deebo
wants the football and then when they throw it to him,
he can't. Yeah, you can't make a huge catch, and yeah,
the decisions that they're now going to have to face
(04:37):
in the future with a drastically different team. They also
they have given contracts to Brandon Ayuk, who's got the
knee injury. You're gonna have to pay party. You gave
Leonor a deal this offseason.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Greenlaw, who came back on Thursday night, is a free agent.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah, Trent Williams isn't gonna be playing anymore. It's so
it's not only guys that are leaving the guys that
they have signed. Yeah, Like, there's zero guarantee that Brandon
Ayuk is the same wide receiver when he comes back
from a surgery. So yeah, it's really the end of
an era of this forty nine Ers football team. And
(05:17):
for the Rams part of it, which I think is
probably should be more of the conversation. They're going to
be the team that nobody wants to play in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Oh no, that's absolutely right. Yeah, I mean the last
you know, to put the last line on the gravestone
for this forty nine Ers squad. It wasn't that they
were necessarily going to be dangerous or anything, Dan, It's
just the division is what it is.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
We're week to week, I mean all four teams week
to week. Do you know what you're getting? Nope, which
is great, you know, from a visual standpoint of all right,
I can sit for three hours and marvel at what
goes up in front of me, good or bad. Yeah,
but not that they'd be a threat in the playoffs,
I guess was the like, even if they're got there.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
That's been my whole point with everybody and trying to
still believe in the forty nine ers and trying to
find paths for them. And the Seahawks have a tough
stretch coming up of games that they have to finish
out the season, and there's no guarantee they're gonna split
or go three and one. They could go one in
three or one four. Who knows in what's going to
(06:22):
happen in the remainder of their games. But the point
was was, even if San Francisco filed away and navigated
and things broke their way and they won the division
or made it to the postseason, sorry, they just start
competing with Philadelphia, Detroit and Green Bay and that, yeah, exactly.
Vikings beat them earlier in the year. Those are the
(06:43):
teams that they were supposed to compete with, and they
wouldn't in the postseason, and now it's pretty.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Much over now to your point about the Rams, you
saw two very distinctly different ways to win games in
a four day stretch. So now you inch in on
them a little bit more. Stafford wasn't good tonight, right,
mentioned it first quarter into the early second, three and
outs and balls that like they're not picked off their afterthoughts.
(07:12):
But we're telling the tale of that game today. Tomorrow
it's just a box score. But for now it's like,
all right, you got away with it. Kyen Williams goes
over one hundred yards, you win in Cooper Cup, doesn't
dent the score the boss.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Yeah, it's it's the running game of the veteran quarterback
of That's just the scary part to me of what
they can do with Williams. Korum's had marvel role as
the season's gone on. And if you need Matthew Stafford
to make some plays, he can and he can go
to Pooka Nakua. Not likely Cooper Cup, according you know,
with everything you know you've mentioned with his numbers, but
(07:48):
still there on the field and is maybe someone you
have to account for, maybe like a late serge Travis
Kelcey sort of role for the Chiefs last season in
the playoffs. Maybe you could see that with Cooper. Cup
point is as if the Rams win the division, it's
going to be a tough one for the wild card
who overplays them, or if they get in as a
wild card, it'll be difficult for whatever division leader they
(08:09):
have to play. But still a lot of football left.
They're at eight and six and on the outside looking in,
but they do have things rolling in Los Angeles. All right,
to you.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Stafford had four carries for eighteen yards.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Dan, you know what. He had that run near the
goal line that ended up getting called back. It felt
like it took eight seconds to happen, like his cott
took two and a half seconds, and it was it
was like in slow motion.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I stood up out of my chair in the studio,
like am I watching? What I think was, what the
hell is that?
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah? The the scrambling Stafford.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
He is not the element of surprise at its finest
right there?
Speaker 1 (08:50):
My goodness, Oh but good stuff. Rams get the win.
They are eight and six and Niners get the loss
and basically out of the playoff picks are sitting there
at six and eight now with a less than one
percent chance to make the postseason. All right, let's get
into the rankings. The other fifteen games of Week fifteen.
(09:11):
Mike Harmon's rankings at the Quarterback Physition Top five for
week fifteen. Mike, who do you got.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Let's lock and load right off the jump in a
nice tasty fifty four and trending upward. When we're talking
about Buffalo Detroit. So we'll start with Josh Allen coming
off the heroics of the of last week's game, even
in a loss. I mean, one of the more ridiculous
stat lines ever we talked about at the last episode.
And you've got the Detroit Lions banged up defense, So
(09:39):
he'll be active as a runner and they'll find their
hay down field. Why because they don't have the rotation
on the pass rush. So the opportunity is going to
be there to open this game up. Jalen Hurt's going
up against Pittsburgh. He's only had two games this year.
We hasn't had a passing touchdown rushing touchdown in seven
of his last eight games. Is one of the most
(10:01):
interesting on the slate. Philly a five and a half
point favorite. All of the hand fighting and jaw jackin
or whatever term you want to use for it. Brandon
Graham did not help matters, talking about things, so a
lot of statements, which means AJ Brown's gonna see the
ball a lot in the first quarter, if for nothing else,
(10:22):
saying I dontea shut up. So you got that. Lamar
Jackson going up against the Giants, multiple touchdown passes six
of his last seven. He's only got one rushing touchdown
since Week four? How about that a little outlier, But
they are fifteen and a half point favorites at last
look against the Giants, get them on, get them over,
(10:43):
get him in, and then we'll see maybe Trent Dilfer
will come and take some snaps. I don't know. Sam
Donald going up against Chicago Monday night football, double barrel
action because you got Atlanta, Las Vegas, and you have
the Bears and Minnesota. But Donald going against the Bears again,
multiple time touchdown passes six of his last seven after
(11:03):
their bye week. He's gone for at least two hundred
and thirty passing yards each and every week. You've seen
some of the on again, off again heroics, Jordan Addison
and Justin Jefferson back into our good graces a week ago.
We'll see if he stays there. And then at the
five spot, it's the coin flip because you know me,
I keep believing that there's going to be a great
(11:25):
game from Kyler Murray in here, and he's got a
spot here against New England.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Can you do it? Are you gonna do it?
Speaker 3 (11:33):
No, Jared Goff going going up against the Bills. I
gotta do it. You're looking at you know the Murray
part of things. I mean, you've only got one multi
touchdown game since week eight, not really using his legs.
Would you believe that he's only gone over twenty one
rushing yards once seven?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
It's a it's not as much of a threat.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, that has not been part of the game plan.
So we'll go with Jared Goff, even though I think
under and lightning, sonic and knuckles, whatever the hell, we'll
call on him this week, get after it. Golf will
have a success again that over under fifty four. Look, man,
I know forty eight was the total on Thursday. I
guarantee we do not have a repeat of a field
goal kicking contest in Detroit.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
I think you made the right choice. Also, that Sam
Darnold pick Vikings wearing their white out uniforms, their winter
storm uniforms against the Bears coming up on Monday. I
like to look end zones end up being white as well.
Very rarely do you get a full white end zone,
but they do it in Minnesota. When Michigan State made
(12:40):
the Rose Bowl against USC in the nineteen eighties, they
had a white end zone, but it was bordered with green.
But just very rarely do you see a full white
end zone because you need the white lines around the field.
So but that's what we're going to get with the Vikings,
you know me in end zones. I had to say it.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
But as long as nobody does a produce boilermaker thing.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
And.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
They'll never do that again, that paint scheme will change
for sure. Want to get away, all right, Let's get
to the top five running backs for Week fifteen.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Mike Who's number one, averaging about nineteen fantasy points per
game his last three and his quarterback stinks right now,
it's b John Robinson going up against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Antonio Pierce would have I think we all assume dead
man walking there in Vegas. With his role, maybe he'll
become the ghost rider. They could use the skull in
(13:35):
the whole nine yards. I don't know, but we'll have
the opportunity giving up about one hundred and ten total
yards per game to running backs these last four weeks
are the Raiders, so that he's number one, Derrick Henry
might be a short night of work for him. So
this is one where you know, you start looking around
if you've got injury situations, whatever, you know, a little
Justice Hill might go a long way this time around,
(13:57):
going up against the Giants and Derrick Henry before the
bye was only averaging about thirteen points per game his
last three four efforts. So it's one of those we
haven't had the same explosiveness, but second worst rush defense
these last four weeks. The Giants, they're just playing out
the string. Jamiir Gibbs reference the potential scoring fest. He's
(14:21):
at nineteen or more points three of his last four games.
What I'll be curious to see is whether you get
him a little more active in the passing game here,
try to back things off and create some space. So
Buffalo has been giving up a number of pass receptions
to backs out of the backfield these last couple of weeks.
(14:42):
Josh Jacobs going against your Seattle Seahawks. He's just too
hot right now to sit down, averaging nearly twenty five
points per game over his last four So we get
him in again passing opportunities twenty five receptions by running
backs to the last four weeks against Seattle.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Curious see on that little war of wills, if you will.
Seahawks gave up an nobody drive score to the Cardinals
and then really tightened up cashing in. But as you said,
the Packers have been riding the shoulders of Jacobs for
a while. So we'll have to see what gives in
Seattle on Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
And finally at number five, I mean, you can't have
a top five list without at least having him in
as the All right, he's gotta be there, Ron Barkley. Yeah,
twenty eight point five is last four, last two games
a total of thirty three points combined. And look, Pittsburgh's
no picnic, right, and we know defensively that front can
get after it. But when we're talking about, hey, I
(15:37):
just need one, I can't. I can't go away from
a guy who's touching the ball twenty plus times per
game period.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I agree, Top five running backs. There you go for
Week fifteen. We're gonna make it quick let's go over
to the wide receivers, the top five pass catchers that
you get in this full slate of games.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Jamar Chase, you can't stop them. You can only hope
to contain them. Twenty six, twenty and forty five, the
last still.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Sour from Monday nights. So I know those those replays.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
You know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna send you
one of those Zippo lighters that you used to light
a grill or a little fire, and I'm gonna send
you a couple of Jamar Chase non rookie cards and
you can torch those. Justin Jefferson going up against the Bears.
The battle against Jalen Johnson is gonna be phenomenal, no
question about it. But I think they scheme him up
to try to find some way and the Bears at
(16:29):
this point, let's just call it what it is. It's
a mess. It's an absolute disaster. You got the empty
suit situation in the front office, a lot of whatever's.
I know they went to my daughter sent me a
thing that Caleb Williams organized an outing, so I kind
of dig that to get a little bit of team
(16:49):
building going on. It was what was it a some
kind of aerobics class. So you got that going for you?
How about go back to the list. AJ Brown said
he's gonna get fed. I don't know that the ceiling
is as high perhaps as others, but I think that
floor is going to be pretty elevated this time around
(17:11):
because they got a quell whatever is going around. By
the way, Mike Tomlin as a as a as a
dog sixty five percent these these last years, So kind
of crazy there. I'm on Ross Saint Brown going back
to that scoring fest and then number five Terry mcglaurin
going up against New Orleans. As much as I appreciate
(17:32):
the Jay Cayner opportunity for the Saints, I think they'll
be working with some short fields on occasion. But here's
the thing. He had a two point performance and then
back to back twenty one and twenty seven point performances
ahead of their Week fourteen by New Orleans sixth worse
these last four weeks touchdown per game and nearly one
(17:54):
hundred and fifty yards per game to opposing wide receivers.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
There they are your top five wide receivers four Week
fifteen of the National Football League season. At some point
in the podcast, we're gonna have to get around how
I'm NRAs Saint Brown's last name is basically made up?
Did you guys know that?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yeah? Just Brown?
Speaker 4 (18:15):
This is news to me.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
What.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Yeah, yeah, it's Just Brown. His dad as a bodybuilder.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
It's yeah, don't worry. And it's one of the great stories.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
It's a good story.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
There's yeah, how many Saint Brown's do you know? Like
they're like they're.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Dan sat Byer and Mike, Saint Louis.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah, there's Saint Charles, There's Saint John. There's just not
a lot of Saint Brown's, but Saint Nicholas. Yeah, very good.
It's done well. But that's a story for a for
a different time. Are there. It is your top five
wide receivers of Week fifteen in the National Football League season.
Mike will have the hot place, Cold Soares and Ninjas
(18:56):
Ian sitting by waiting to hand out his streaming defenses
before he heads out to Hawaii. So let's see what
he has cooking up as well. This does I Want
Your Flex? All right, welcome back to I Want Your Flex.
In the break, we've determined that Ian Roddy is now
Ian Saint Roddy here is Mike Carmen. I'm dan byer,
glad you're hanging out. Let's get right to it, Mike.
(19:18):
Let's get to the hot plays for week fifteen. Guys
that didn't make your rankings but need to make your lineup.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
How about we go Cuba Hubbard. He was the sixth
man in on the running back list going up against
Dallas where the Carolina Panthers, for the first time what
is it thirty three thirty four games, are actually favored
to win a game. They are three point favorites as
we record this on late on Thursday night after the
(19:43):
Rams and forty nine ers game. Forty three the total
in that one. But Chuba Hubbard his last three games fifteen,
then a two point three, then a twenty point seven.
I'm looking for that last one in a repeat here
against a frustrated Dallas defense that we saw start to
come apart again last week. But I like the other
side of that game. Rico Dowdell, he is your man.
(20:06):
Twenty one and fifteen points his last two efforts. And
then you look at Carolina ninth most Fantasy points allowed
to running backs over the last four weeks. James Connor,
the Arizona Cardinals keep bringing me back. I don't know
why I get bad obsession with him. I can't quit him,
especially in Connor is tough, right, ten points, eleven points,
(20:26):
and then he has the twenty two right, he gets
the jews off of the shovel pass and all of this.
But get this new England has not allowed a rushing
touchdown in their last four games, several receiving touchdowns to
opposing running backs. So maybe another shovel pass.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Well, well, Connor's been good through the air too.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
So maybe a little bit of love there. How about
a little bit of a deep cut Isaiah Davis. Yet,
let's go about that. Twelve points, fifteen points his last
two Jacksonville. Let's call it what it is. It's Jacksonville.
At this point. Bo Neeck's going up against Indianapolis headed
the bye week twenty nine, nineteen and fourteen. We've talked
(21:10):
about him as a fantasy option for many, many weeks.
We'll ride him out, ride out the string. Even though
over the last month you've had some pretty good football
against quarterbacks by the Indianapolis Colts. Justin Herbert against Tampa
Bay averaged sixteen points per game over the last four.
This is going to be an interesting one. But we're
expecting Lad McConkey to be back in some role. And
(21:33):
then we saw smart step forward. There was your tight
end pickup in the fantasy world. Disley's banged up and
not going to be available, so you found a new
security like it for Herbert who's on the injury report,
he's got a bunch of things. He's like looking like
the Wacky Doctors game operation with a bunch of little
flashing and kind of parts. But he'll be up and
(21:54):
ready to go in a big tilt against the Bucks.
Bryce Young celebrated as every turn, giving up Dallas twenty
points per game the last four to quarterbacks, and you
look at Young since returning seventeen twenty four to fourteen.
I'll roll with it. Jerry Judy against Kansas City, second
leading receiver the last month of the campaign, including that
(22:17):
forty one point effort, but he's been fifteen or better
four straight weeks. Let's ride it. Garrett Wilson going back
to the Jets going against Jacksonville. That eighteen point performance
might be the precursor of things to come. And I'd
be remiss if I didn't get at least one member
of the Buffalo Bills slash Detroit Lions up in here,
So Khalil Shakir. Anything that goes anywhere near that guy's hands,
(22:41):
he's a damn Hoover vacuum. And we'll see it again
after that twenty two per point performance in the loss of.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
The Rams again. A wacky Week fifteen schedule where the
NFL has scheduled a massive doubleheader in the two late
games of having the Eagles home to the Steelers and
the Lions up against the Bills, happening on opposite networks. Yeah,
that should be. It should be a dandy. It's also
Nansen Romo against the Burkhart and Brady Booth in that
(23:12):
same window.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
I'm Brady could do that.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
We've got I'll tell you what. We've got five games
of that late window and both those games are going
to be going on during my Sunday show with Kerry Rhodes.
And if I had to pick one, I think Bill's Lions.
That was my super Bowl. But there's something about those
Steelers I don't know. I mean there truly is. I
think that they could have something something up their sleeve.
As you mentioned, Mike Tomlin's record earlier when you were
(23:37):
talking about the wide receivers. But some good football, all right,
let's get to some bad football, the cold source guys
you want out of your lineup four week fifteen, Mike.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I'm throwing the Bears well to the Wolves are being
plundered by the Vikings. I don't know Caleb Williams while
he's averaging nearly twenty one points his last four games,
the last two sixteen and fourteen, and that means I'm
taking roma dudsday with him because people are chasing because
they got those touchdowns last Week's like, all right, come
on now, those are his first touchdown reception since Week three.
(24:09):
He's got two games over sixty receiving yards in his
last ten. Don't chase, Go find another option secondary receiver
somewhere else. DevD eight chan averaging twenty points per game
over his last four. Look, he's going to be in
RB two for you. I'm in disagreement with some of
the overall rankings, and maybe I'm grossly wrong here, but
(24:32):
looking at what Houston's been able to do defensively against
opposing rushers, look first and foremost, you shut him down.
You shut down what they're trying to accomplish offensively, and
we've talked about Hill and we've talked about Waddle. Has
disappointments for everybody this year. They'll get Cole in the
stocking when we do the end of year stuff, but
we pushed him there. Nick Chubb just been abysmal booke
(24:56):
ended his last four weeks. He's got two five point games, Dan, yeah, return, Yeah,
It's tough man. So you know the one thing that
they have against Kansas City you have done is there
have been four rushing touchdowns against them in the last
four weeks. So maybe you're wishing, wanting, hoping for a
goal line opportunity, but that's about it. He's a no
(25:18):
play for me. And even though I love the Detroit
Buffalo game, as we've talked about at fifty four, just
stares at you. James Cooks no better than a back
end number two right now in this one. Either been
pretty inconsistent and the Detroit Lions have been good against
opposing runners here this last month. CJ. Stroud seems like
(25:40):
he's here a lot going up against the Dolphins in
that one. Look at the over unders at forty six
and a half and I'm just gonna be honest with you,
I don't see it. I see an under coming for
this one. Miami seventeen allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks
over this run CJ. Stroud before the bye week, and
maybe they work something out, maybe all of it comes together,
(26:02):
but eleven, seventeen and fourteen, that's just tough to trust.
Baker Mayfield going up against the Chargers. He's got his
guy and Mike Evans. We've seen Bucky Irving and company
have some big success. I'm not looking for a massive
point total here. That's one of the more interesting games
to see what breaks through on that one, and then
(26:23):
I'd be remiss your guy, DK Metcalf can't do it
last one hundred yard game Week four, one touchdown since
week three, WR three, if you're still carrying three wide
receivers on your roster.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Yeah, it's been more of the JSN show.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Just like you predicted it, though, are you getting a
scout for your team?
Speaker 1 (26:45):
I didn't think that there would be a breakthrough, but
I would also say, like I can't. I can't completely
sit here and say that I thought Metcalf would fall off.
Now he was dealing with injuries for a little while
but still I felt like the offense would opened up,
and I thought it was more of the passing of
the baton from Tyler Lockett to JSN and that sort
(27:06):
of role. I still thought Dk Metcalf would have his
his role, but it just his. It just has not
come to fruition still time, and I think they're going
to need him coming up on Sunday Night. But yeah,
to your point, the other scary thing there is Gino
Smith and the possibility of interceptions because Green Bay can
get you, and Gino likes to give them to you.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
That is the one thing. They have been very, very
aggressive and stingy this year. Whereas how many times do
we talk about the Packers in the last couple of
years on the podcast Dan all the expectations and they'd
play some pretty good defense, but they could never get
a takeaway. Yes, and this year, well they're getting their share.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Alexander being dinged up, you know, magnificent. So here's here's
the other point of just some of the matchups, not
specifically to Mike's cold source, but on the teams that
they play for. It's an interesting week in Week fifteen
for the AFC playoff picture because you have Denver playing
the Colts. If Denver wins that game, Indy gets their
(28:08):
eighth loss of the season. You mentioned the Dolphins Texans
game as well, Mike. If the Texans win that Dolphins
get their eighth win of the season. The playoffs, the
playoff picture that we talked about, how ted it, I
should say how small it was in the AFC will
basically vanish and you will have all seven teams set
for with three games left, because you've got the Broncos Chargers,
(28:32):
and that is the Chargers would have to beat the Buccaneers.
Broncos would beat the Colts, the Texans would beat the Dolphins,
and we expect the Ravens to beat the Giants. But
those are all five lost teams and the only teams
that are still alive would have eight losses with three
to play, and you'd have tie breakers with Denver and
the Colts, and you'd have a tie breaker, you know,
in other scenarios. I guess if the Texans won the division,
(28:55):
it wouldn't matter with the Dolphins. But just the point
being is that AFC playoff picture, we may know who's
all in three weeks left into the season. Pretty crazy?
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Yeah, I think the most interesting thing in the Baltimore
New York game. Have we gotten confirmation that the guy
that bet the three million on the on the illegal
last week? Is he gonna double down with the fact
that you got the Ravens and.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
A half two thousand dollars winnings from his three million
dollar bet and let it ride?
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Uh yeah, right, he made he made fifteen percent three hours.
Pretty good?
Speaker 1 (29:31):
All right, all right, since, uh you.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Know, hey, I wish I had money, so no, no, hey,
you know.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I will never forget. I had a great college football
betting weekend once and I'm like, you know what, Washington's
like minus three hundred straight up against Cal. Let me
just make an extra ten bucks, you know whatever it was.
And uh so, I, you know, placed the wager, and
then I just watched the Cal defense suffocate Washington in Seattle,
(30:02):
one of those late night PAC twelve. You know, it
wasn't even a Pac twelve after dark because it was
a crazy game. It was just the Huskies were locked
up and couldn't do anything. And I'm like, serves me, right.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Yeah, yeah, it's because you place the bet, Dan, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
It's all You're exactly.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
No, no, been on Sorry, plenty of losers that way.
It looks it's perfect. It's set up crusts on the generals.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Let's just make a little extra money. No big deal, right,
he had a good day and then just went down
the tubes. All right, let's get to the ninja's the
sneaky plays for week fifty.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Depress your luck, right, looking for Isaiah Pacheka to finally
maybe break through here five point nine eight point one
in his return to the field going against Cleveland. This
is one that's really an interesting spot for me because
I'm going on the other side and I'm going to
get some Jameis Winston love and here he's finished as
a top twelve QB and four of his six starts
he's gonna make his air Aaron erroneous throws right there.
(31:02):
There's gonna be some sailing and some questionable decisions, but
at the end of the day, you know you're getting
the full on effort of chaos because the postgame interviews
are always so glorious, So going there that might actually
be an upset kind of opportunity. Here we'll see.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
But for fantasy persons, I agree, I actually agree with you,
like I think it's something crazy could happen.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
But for this one, it's the fantasy purposes, daily fantasy.
He's going to have a lower valuation and the ceiling
potentially pretty high there in a home date. How about McLoughlin.
The McLaughlin going against Indianapolis nine points his last game out,
and you look at Indie against running backs, worst team
(31:45):
in football the last month, as good as they've been
against pass Right, we've got to ye in and a
gang you want to run between the twenties, have at
its and go through it. Aaron Rodgers and you know,
the last stand kind of thing going up against jack
it's the Jacksonville fact. It's you know, and anybody who
plays the Jags kind of thing. As we go through
(32:05):
and like he he got into it, the little going
after our guy Jay Glazer is like, hey, he doesn't know.
And then Jay Glazer was on with Smith and I
on Thursday night. He goes, yeah, he actually told me
he's worse off than what I reported, Like, oh okay,
but he's still be up, upright and ready to go
against the Jaguars on Sunday. Brian Thomas on the other
(32:28):
side of that game nineteen and seventeen, his last two
games out, Jets ninth most Fantasy points allowed. Referenced him
earlier again daily play, just the you know the dollar
you know picks that you make. Hayin right, gonna get
his opportunity with the broken hand to Derek Carr, Alvin
(32:50):
Kamaraz banged up, no taste of I get it like.
It's not a murderer's row of players out there, just
one of those. I'll call it the gut feeling play
of the day. Maybe that's what we start where my
digestive system becomes a bit for next year, but for today,
we'll throw him up as a potential Ninja here and
(33:11):
then give me Josh Palmer four games over sixty yards.
You're looking at some target counts. I know Mconkey comes back,
but you're gonna need a secondary option to go through.
I already mentioned you know smart as the tight end
option play, but an opportunity here. Palmer has been a
(33:33):
reliable receiver for Herbert in the past. I think he
takes that role on again this week.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
There they are Mike Harmon's hot plays, cold source, and
Ninja's for week fifteen. Coming up next. As we wrap
up this episode of I Want Your Flex our executive producer,
Ian Roddy has the streaming defenses. I give you points
of Palooza and a special tribute to Oasis as we
do our Player of the Week via Oasis songs. All
(33:59):
that's coming up now, I Want your Flex wrapping things
up on this week fifteen edition of I Want Your Flex.
Get Mike on x at Swollen Dome and Blue Sky.
You can find the Mike Carmen you can find me
on Blue Sky, Dan Byer on x At, Dan Byer
on Fox, and Ian Saint Roddy you can find on
(34:20):
ex at Ian Roddy Underscore. No Blue Sky yet.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
No Blue Sky yet. But what I do have is
two streaming defenses. All right, we'll start with the Cardinals.
So Arizona Cardinals. They were one of my two streaming
defenses last week, and I got bit for it. They
ended up losing you four points. If you've taken my
advice last week.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
A sucking ian the Seahawks. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna try.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Though this time they're not facing the Seahawks, so all
three of us can actively be rooting for the Cardinals defense.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
This time.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
They're fifty two percent rostered, so they should be out
there for you in about half a league's again. They
burned me last week, they got run all over. But
you know, prior to last week they had actually been
looking pretty good. So I'm gonna go ahead and plant
my flag in it being a one week thing against
the Seahawks. They're playing against the Patriots this week, who
(35:12):
do not have much of a threatening run game contrary
to the Seahawks. Drake May, while he's shown a lot
of promise as a rookie, he's still very susceptible to sacks.
It's the worst O line in the league. And then
a stat that I saw he's taken at least three
sacks and four of his last five games, so look
for a lot of sacks for the Cardinals. And also
in that span he's turned the ball over nine times,
(35:33):
so lots.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Of points to lots of lots. That's sports radio throwback
that Dan and I.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Ed Rudy German thing nine Ferris Rueler's day off with
the is nine times and when don't worry about it.
It's like one of five movies I've seen in love,
but it's one of.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
My favorite movies of all time, so we can relate.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Okay, Okay, good, But remember when they're going through Ferris's
attendance and Ed Rooney's on the phone with his mom
and he's like Ferris' mom and he's at nine.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
I do remember that. I do remember that. Then it
became a big thing with the Pat O'Brien show on
Fox Sports Rainio nine.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
I don't even remember that.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Gosh, I don't. I don't know what the obsession like
it was. I think the way Tim McCarver said the
word nine became a thing that they kicked up on.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Just bit that. Yeah, that actually feels right. I don't
remember it, but it sure feels right. So I'll tell
you that much. Little PLB.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Well, he's turned the ball over nine times in that span.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
So there you go.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Moving on the Washington Commanders, they're my other one, so
fifty rostered. So again out there in about half a
league's they're playing against the Saints. Mike you mentioned it.
They're starting uh Jake Hayner at quarterback. While Derek Carr's
out look. The Saints have been a team even with
Derek Carr to target for streaming defense. This is the
fact that they're now starting a guy who has very
(37:02):
little starting experiences in the league. I think he got
like one or two starts earlier in the year before
Rattler got his shot. But yeah, had Ratler been named
the starter, there'd be a little more hesitation here just
because of the fact that he has a high ceiling.
But to me, Hainer low floor, low ceiling. So I
feel pretty good about this one.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Man. I think we're all like thinking alike because on
my points of paloser palooza not loser points of palooza,
I had Commanders and Saints rit or not. I don't
want to take the Bill's Lions at whatever fifty four
and a half. Again, we're trying to stay away from that,
but there's a part of me, there's this small part
of me, guys that really wants to pick Steelers Eagles,
(37:46):
Like I could see Russell Wilson maybe opening up. You know,
Mike's got aj Brown as his third quarterback and Jalen
Hurts is I should say, a third wide receiver in
Jalen Hurts is the second quarterback. I kind of want
to go Steelers in Eagles as well as a bit
of a shot with the points of palooza, so I'll
double up on that. I haven't done that this year,
so I'll just I think you could maybe see some
(38:06):
surprise points in that one survivor pool. I'm with you
on the Cardinals with the Patriots come into town and
think they have bigger fish to fry with New England
and that's losing more football games, so they stay up
there in the draft order and listen, we haven't really
been able to do this before, but as Mike mentioned,
Carolina is a favorite, they're at home. Why not take
them in a survivor league. Why not let it roll?
(38:28):
Because you hadn't used them before, and if you made
it this far, there's probably millions of dollars on the line.
Go with Carolina in your survivor pool. It'd be the
only time that you could really comfortably use them. And
I know that you're only using half of the teams
in the NFL, so why would you ever use the
Panther as well? If you can get that advantage, do so.
This weekend and my final one Oasis song, we're veering
(38:50):
a little bit. We're going on an album and it's
something that Mike mentioned earlier. The album Standing on the
Shoulder of Giants. I feel that the Ravens will be
doing that to the Giant this past weekend. So I'll
tell you what. We're gonna go Derrick Henry on this one.
Let's get out of the by Ravens, get things rolling,
(39:10):
they get that running game going. So Derrick Henry is
my guy. Mike Chasm has a second running back. I'm
gonna use him as my oasis play this week. Those
are my picks for week fifteen.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
I dig it. It's a fun slate. There's a couple
of odd ball games that you mentioned Carolina as a pick.
I'm just so curious, right, the near misses against two
of the best. I mean, whatever people think of the Chiefs,
they keep winning, right, and the Eagles, whatever dysfunction, they
keep winning narrow losses. Yes, there's still losses, there's no
(39:42):
moral victories whatever. But it's like, boy, it's fun to
watch something come together. Yeah, and now you got greeting
cards that you can buy with that are narrated by
Xavier Legett. I mean, what else could you want? This awesome?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
I didn't even know that was a thing. I need
to fed together.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Check that out. Yeah, that's good stuff.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
See the video of him talking about how he eats
raccoon on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yes, he is a treasure.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
I'd do it, I'd try it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
If someone I'm in screw that, I'm all turkey. Yeah
I'm not. I'm not ready to hear. Just like Mac
and Cheese, guys, experiment on your own time, you know,
experiment at your own home. You don't get that Thanksgiving.
There we go, perfectly perct way to end it. One
of the best clips there is on the internet. All right, Ian,
(40:29):
enjoy Hawaii. Mak you you'll be back a week from now,
less than a week.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Well, I guess yes, for the podcast.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Yeah, we don't care about your personal life. We only
care about your life. I'll be gone a week from now,
but I'll be with Mike on Monday and we'll do
our week fifteen recap. Ian goes to Hawaii. I go
to north central Wisconsin. There's something wrong with this picture
in December? Yeah, good choice.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
But to destination vacation.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
Yeah, well here's the thing. Hey, mom, here's where we
need to go. Yes, there you go, Dan, you can
do the great redirect.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
A family, we've decided something else.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Everybody, let's go to Hawaii. But all right, there it
is good luck. If you're in the playoffs, keep rolling.
If you're playing Daily Fantasy, hopefully you cash in. And yeah,
we can't. I can't wait to talk to you next time.
So Ian, safe travels, enjoy Hawaii, and then Mike and
I will be back after week fifteen. So for the fellas,
I'm Dan Bayer. We'll talk to you next time right here,
and I want your flex
