I'm the host of in Case You Missed It with
Christina Williams on Iheartradios newly launched iHeart Women's Sports Network.
So if you're into the w NBA or women's basketball,
that is the podcast to listen to. And we are
so excited to be here in the Bay Women's basketball
is a very exciting time. We have the Golden State
Valkyries coming this season. Yeah, so okay, So joining me today,
(00:43):
I have my homegirl, Tarrika Foster barrasby WNBA reporter and
host of Levels to this with Ryl Swoops, and we
have the newest member of the Golden State Valkyries, Tiffany Hayes.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Give it up for Tiffany.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
A's So has it gonna be here?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
So, Tip, you just signed to the Valkyries and w
NBA free agency.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
You played a year with the Las Vegas Aces. Why
the move to come to the Bay Area?
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Of course it was hard everybody else I love the Aces,
I love the organization on my teammates. I was just
I had a blast and they kind of gave me
that love back for the game again in this league.
So it was kind of like a you know, spreading
my wings type of thing, staying fearless because a new
move it's tough, it's a new team, new organization. So
(01:35):
kind of like when I started my brand, like after basketball,
that was my my newest thing after I retired, And
it's tough every if you're entrepreneur, you know, like starting
something new from the ground up, it's tough when you
don't know what you're doing. It's not your thing. Like
I know basketball like the back of my hand, but uh,
starting a brand is very new. So just like coming
to this new organization, I know it's gonna be tough,
(01:55):
but we got a a group of girls who gonna
get after it and we gonna have one at the
same time and just build this from the ground up
and make sure we bring the community along and learn
from the community because we want them to be a
part of this build up as well.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
So I wanted to be a part of that.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Let's back up, though, because you said something just now
that hurt my heart a little.
Speaker 6 (02:17):
Bit you said, bringing your love back to the game
of basketball.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
And so, you know, for those who may not know,
Tip crushed all of us when she retired. You were
a member of the Connecticut Sun at that time, and
we were like.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
Wait, what have it because it felt.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
Like you had so much left to give even after
fifteen years at that time.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
So can you just kind of tea At that time
it was.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Now I'm damn the extra year right now, I don't
but no, But seriously, like, what what was that process
like for you where you felt like maybe you did
and feel the love for the game anymore that you
wanted to take a stand back.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
It was a lot, you know, and I've been on
since then, kind of a self journey. It was just
going through stuff and this type of everybody goes through
stuff in the industry and their job with their workplace, whatever,
And I had to go through this journey to really
like see what made me happy, what didn't, what gave
me energy, what didn't, what kind of sucked me dry,
(03:23):
what didn't. And that was kind of just one of
those things at the time. And it sucks because I
love basketball, But at the end of the day, I
kind of just had to like just take a step
back and do what was best for me.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
So I had to make that decision, and that was
hard as well.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
And it's not like I did it completely, Like I
was still gonna play over sin.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
I was still gonna play over heart.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Even more because I was like, Oh, she.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Ain't gonna take them flights bifically, y'all aint gonna take
them flights?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
See me?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
All right?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
No? But then when you came back, you had one
of your best basketball seasons. Last season, you were named
the twenty twenty four sixth Player of the Yearly, come
on now, come on out of retirement.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
For come the sixth player of the year.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
How would you describe that season with the Las Vegas Aces.
I mean, Asia Wilson three times at w NBA MVP.
What was it like, you know, just being on that
team and playing with her.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I loved every moment of playing with all those girls.
I had arguably one of the best players in the world,
and Asia Wilson leading our team. I get to watch her,
see her working hard every day, learning from her. No
matter how old I get, I always want to learn.
I always want to be a sponge. So to have
that in front of me was an amazing experience. Of
course all the other girls. I had Ac who was
(04:37):
former sixth Player of the Year, so I had her
or learn from as well, and I have been knowing
her so just actually just even getting to.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Play with her sid hilarious.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
You know, all of them, all the girls, So getting
to experience that it was one hundred percent of plus
for me because, like I said, it gave me love
for the game again, but also I'm getting to soak
in that championship atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
When you decided to sign with the Golden State Valkyries,
obviously Natalie Nicasei was on the Las Vegas Aces coaching
staff and now she's the head coach for Golden State.
To Deaf Andail already kind of factor into your decision
to commit to science to Golden State.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
It did.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
I was with the Aces, me and that kind of
like even our first dinner with me being in Vegas,
we kind of hit it off, like and she was
always my go to person like during the season, like,
of course I'm cool with all the Tyler Becky everybody,
but me and her just kind of had that extra,
you know, relationship. We would always talk before the games,
sitting side by side. We would laugh about things. We
(05:35):
would even like, you know, tell each other to breathe sometimes,
like cause we had that kind of relationship. So it
was fun and I'm glad I definitely get to step
into this with her because I know it's a journey
for me, but I don't want to speak for her,
but it feels like it's a journey for her too,
and we get to go on that together, So I
think it's pretty dope.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Also coming over is Kate Martin, and I know the
fans here they love Kate Martin, Money Martin, and I
know social media could appreciate all of the content that's
been coming out with you being able to dress her
and just building that relationship. What is your relationship like
with Money Martin?
Speaker 4 (06:11):
It's super dope, man. She's a great rookie. Just watching
her kind of motivates me because she's also a sponge.
So just watching her and see her work so hard
to get better and then seeing it translate on the court,
it's dope to see because you don't get that all
the time from your rookies. And I've had some up here,
so I'm down here. But she's she's just amazing. So
I'm happy to have her. And yeah, she lets me.
(06:33):
You know, she don't like to get dressed a lot,
but she lets me do it sometimes. So I feel
special like that shout out to k.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
But what I love even more is just how embracing
it seems that the city of San Francisco and Oakland,
just the Bay Area period and having a women's basketball team,
and just how it speaks to the growth of the game.
You know, I think I ask players all the time,
what do you feel or what do you think when
you think about how you know, women's basketball is just
(07:02):
continuing to grow with even unrivaled and athletes unlimited is
all year long.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
Now there's a place where you can get women's basketball.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
So when you think about over your career and just
how this game continues to grow, how do you put
that into perspective?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
It's cool to grow in it. Like I've been in
it for a while. I was at the point where
there was a big shift in it when I first
got in the league, and I was able to be
a part of that. Now I'm at the end of
this shift, you know, not at the very end, you know,
don't I'm still here.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
My mad don't do that.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
But you know, I just I'm at the end of it,
and you get to see a whole nother transition of
a different type of women's athlete that's coming up, and
it's great to see. It's growing the game, and I
know that I was a part of the part where
it all started. And they get to walk in those
steps of the ones that came before them, and they're
crushing it.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Man.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
They're all over the place doing all types of things,
and that's what we want to see.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Like, we don't want to be in a box.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
We want to be able to do different things, but
also so be able to be good at our craft
and let people to see it. Now we're getting that
recognition people learned watching the game and they're actually enjoying them.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
So it's great to be a part of that.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I know a lot of people became familiar with you
at Yukon. Won two championships at Yukon ski huge, huge
basketball program, So like, what was that like to be
able to be a part of such a big basketball program.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
All of the eyes during that time obviously was on Yukon.
It still is. Yukon is still a great program.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
But it wasn't odd for you to get all of
that attention, I guess early on in your career.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
No, I mean I was. I was kind of used
to it. I knew what I when, I knew what
I signed up for when I went there, and I
just always wanted to get the best out of myself,
and I knew going where Grima was he was going
to get the best out of me because he's like
really good with that, Like he treats the players different
ways that he knows that he would get the best
out of them, and I love that about him.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
So being there a part of greatness.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Like we had a nice run ninety and oh I
got the meat Obama twice twice. Yeah, two yeah, two times,
So set records.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
It was an amazing time at you come Now.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
You also won another award last year too, the w
NBA and SLAM did a Best Fits Yes, y'all, hear
the drip drip, don't play it to the drug. Okay,
just talk a little bit about your your brand and
what you know. You kind of touched on it a
little bit earlier as talking about being an entrepreneur and
(09:25):
just kind of trying something different, but you know, just
kind of share with us, what if what that journey
has been like for you with just starting your brand
and really putting yourself in a position outside of basketball.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
It's cool, it's hard, it's uh, it's amazing. It's an experience.
Like I was saying, like, I know basketball like the
back of my hand. But to jump into something new
like fashion, it's hard, but it's dope. I get to
actually learn about it. I'm still in the process of
learning about it. I'm only a yearion. My Cochor brand
is only a yearion. So I'm not afraid to make mistakes.
I'm not afraid to try new things. All my stuff
(09:59):
is out of the box. These are two brand new pieces.
I just know. I like to wear my stuff for
a while and get feedback. And you know what I'm saying,
So it don't come out for a while. This stuff
probably won't be out for a while, but I just
like the weird and get feedback.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
How do Y?
Speaker 3 (10:12):
I like these two pieces, by the way, the long
coat and the pants.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yeah, So that type of process for me is super
dope because I get a lot of my motivation from
things that I just do in my life, Like I
travel a lot. Y'all know, I'll play overseas a lot,
so I'm a part of different cultures a lot. I'm
learning from them and just getting inspired by stuff I see.
And I'm also over there with some of the best
fabric stores in the world. I get to go in
there and touch it myself, turn it into whatever I
(10:38):
want to turn into.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
And I have an amazing design team.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Shout out to my design team KA Consulting KA Designing. Yes, yes,
oh yeah, my team is amazing, Like we all work
together to come up with things and pick the pick
the fabric straight out of the store, and it's super cool.
It's just an experience, man, I'm enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
I know that the tunnel fit has become a staple
thing and sports period, not just women's sports.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
How do you see that factoring.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Into more brands investing into women athletes.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
The fact that you can see it now, it's starting
to be all over the place, all different types of
Instagram pages, on TV, they're starting to show it before
the games on ESPN and things like that. So people are,
you know, taking it a little serious, like they when
you come into the games, you see them stepping now
like everybody's stepping and I love to see it.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
I love to see the growth. It wasn't always like this, and.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
For fashion to be growing in a game that I've
loved for so long, and that now I'm getting that
love for fashion as well, like it's growing with me.
It's cool to see two of my favorite things now
is really like shaping kind of the culture of basketball
or basketball and fashion together.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
So I love it.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
I gotta say I admire all of you because the
tunnel fits are fitting for like thirty seconds.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
It's not like it's not like you're wearing it for
two hours.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
It's like we took a lot of time and effort,
but it's thirty seconds that you're going to see me
walking down.
Speaker 6 (12:23):
I admire it so much.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
I think one thing that as we talk about mixing
fashion and culture in the WNBA is that there are
so many different opportunities for young and up and coming
basketball stars. We look at Juju Watkins, who just went
off last night against UCLA, and I'm sure you get
this all the time, but like, what are some advices
or pieces of knowledge that you drop to the younger
(12:47):
girls coming up to prepare themselves for what they'll.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
Get playing at the professional level.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
I mean, it's just probably cliche and it's kind of simple,
but just be yourself. Yeah, honestly be yourself and make
sure you give yourself that time and space to relax
and reset.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
It could be a lot if you let it be
a lot.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
But if you give your time, like I said, reset
and relax, clear your mind, I think you'll really enjoy.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
The process of being in this league because.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
There's a lot to give and there's a lot to
receive from it as well.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
So who was that person for you when you were
a rookie to help you kind of put get your
wings in and teach you some stuff that I had.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Our Minty Price. I don't know if y'all remember our
Mental Price.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
She was amazing, Like she took me under her wing,
just really just teaching me like little unwritten.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Rules to a game and on and off the court.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
And even my first year overseas, she was one of
my teammates, so that really really helped me out one
hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
So shout out to our Menti.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
She was a She was a really good role model
for me when I first got in the league.
Speaker 6 (13:56):
I love that our Menti is Sope.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
So the Golden State that while the first team in
the Bay Area and not the first team to northern
California at one point, we know there was the Sacramento Monarchs,
Tscha Pinicero, all those folks. Exactly when you look at
what you look to bring to the Valkyries, what kind
of player I know it, Christina knows it. But tell
(14:19):
the people what kind of player should they expect to
get out of Tiffany Hayes.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Tokyo is.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Show back.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I'm gonna do my thing. I think that's the simplest
way to put it. Like in terms of everybody here
is gonna get what I mean when I say that, you're.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Gonna get what you need out of me.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
And I've always been that type of player, that's that
that six man of the year of mentality. Whatever my coach,
my team need me to be, I'm gonna be that.
So you're definitely gonna see a lot of that. You're
gonna see a lot of grit from the whole team,
a lot of passion for me because I can probably
speak my teammates when I say, we're all blessed to
(15:02):
be able to be in this position that we have
right now. So we're gonna definitely try to bring something
special to this city as quick as we can so
and have fun while doing it.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, And the WNBA's entering is twenty ninth season. And
just today the Valkyries announced that you guys will have
designated lockers inside Chase Center. They unveiled their practice facility,
and we see how important it is for teams and
ownerships to invest in players because that dictates where they'll go.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
And pray to today, Yes, give us team. What did
it look like?
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Chef's kiss? It's amazing, man, I can't waste y'all to see.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
I don't know if y'all like saw details of it yet,
but I mean they thought of everything literally, and like
I said, we're all blessed to be in this position.
Like I kind of got that same thing from Vegas,
because when you're in positions like this, like you want
to feel like a professional. You want all those little
things that so you don't have to think about these
things you could think about only playing basketball. And when
(16:01):
you get all those things, it makes it so much
easier if you're able to play the game you love.
So even with just locker room details, like I feel
like they're they're really like honing in and making sure
we get everything we need to be successful.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
That's great.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
And also this season you've played for unrival it's still
playing at Unrivals, right, It's still there, still unrival for
laces PC ladies. Andrew Wade, I broke the news earlier.
Just was added to the New York Liberty as a
player development coach. See, I'll Unrivaled. It's providing opportunities for
(16:35):
not only the players, for coaches. But what do you
like about Unrivaled and just having that opportunity to play
state side as opposed to going overseas.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
That's just what it is, having that opportunity.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
If you know me and my game, I play overseas
every year for about ten to eleven years straight. Missed
a lot of things, family things, opportunities in the States
that I could have had playing here. But you know,
sometimes duty calls. You gotta make those decisions. Was best
you and your family to make that trip overseas every year.
But un Rivals giving us that chance to stay here.
We're getting pretty much the same kind of conversations we
(17:07):
would get overseas, and they're they're treating us like professionals.
They're trying to give us everything we need to just
focus on basketball. So it's kind of that same thing
I was just talking about, if you want to have
a professional athlete in your space and around your league,
like give them those things that they need to feel
like that so they can give you that product.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Yeah, you know, speaking of being around different people in Unrival,
what has been a moment for you.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
With just playing with different people and just.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Kind of getting to know some of the other players
and some of the other people on a different level
with a different atmosphere than in a w Like how
fun has that been for you? And what has those
moments been?
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Like?
Speaker 5 (17:41):
Man?
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (17:42):
So?
Speaker 6 (17:44):
Listen, we watched it. We see everybody wild.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
So Unrivals is a new basketball league started by Brandon
Stewart and the FISA Collier. It's in Miami. It's a
three x three league and so lots of different w
NBA players being featured there. But what is what has
it been like playing in Miami?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
It's off season.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
It's so cool And just to speak on my team,
the laces, like we're so different than all the other teams,
Like we're all chill people.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Like we kind of like all the same things like
musicals and you know, the anti stuff.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
So it was just cool to even notice that, like
right off with But I think that's why we kind
of jail so quick as a team. And that's one
of the biggest things for me, like cause I love
being in that atmosphere where like I feel good, I
feel like I'm gelling with the people around me quickly
and we get to have.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Fun while we're playing good and we're good.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
With each other. Like, and I had never played with
Kayla McBride, and she's doing so.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Killing. She's killing, and I'm like, I was not familiar
with it.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
I was.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
I mean, I was, I was not familiar. But she's
she's dope.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
It was.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
It was nice to learn she was the only one
that I hadn't played with before I got to Unrival.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
So it's dope to finally have her shooting on my
team and not the other team.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
I say, the Laces VC is a team of silent assassins.
Like they don't have to say munch, they just produced
on the court. Jackie Young, Alyssa Thomas, Kyle McBride, Wait
what your mean, Alyssa.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
Thomas don't say much maybe not public, not too much.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Yeah, not too much, not too much on.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, but no, I absolutely love seeing you guys play
three x me basketball in the off season.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Let's get to some fun stuff though.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Okay, so we know if you've been in the w
NBA for over a decade, what was your welcome to
the w moment?
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Probably had to be something to do with Simona Augustus.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Oh that's a good one.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Don't have to do all that.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
People usually say Diana Tarazzi like elbowed them or something.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
But Simona Augustus.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Augustus, that shiftiness you had amazing. But Yo, I'm gonna
leave it at that because I ain't embarrased myself. Yeah,
shout out to Samo.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Shout out to Simon. All Right, I want to throw
it to the audience.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I'm gonna ask a quick trivia based on what you
guys have been listening to for a free sweatshirt, a
free iHeart Women's sweatshirt.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
So if one person can answer, what is.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
The name of the new women's basketball team here in
the Bay Nothing?
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Who said the first Jesse?
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Okay, come up and get your hoodie, Come up and
get your hoodie.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Come up and get your hoodie.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Give it up, give it up. Yeah, you want even
though you ain't raised, you'll, We're gonna let you have it.
We're gonna let you get.
Speaker 6 (20:42):
It, all right, all right?
Speaker 5 (20:44):
I got a second question based on what we've heard.
We told you guys that tip just came from what
team and what location.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Oh I heard it.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I heard first.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I heard.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
That's he was on it.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
He was ready for that.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Congrats, congrats.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
I also want to throw it to the audience.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Do you guys have any questions for Tiffany just to
welcome her here to the paint today, look, any questions
for Tip.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
I feel like she got one cause she looked like
she want to say something and it's not.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Do you have a question?
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Go ahead?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
This is Yesterday was literally my first day. I'm learning
a lot already.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
I'm experiencing a lot, and it's cool.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
That's why I was like, I can't wait to get
in the community. I want to learn.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
I want to learn so much, and I would appreciate
y'all sending me whatever recommendations telling me what not to do.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
I heard about some things that I shouldn't do.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
I heard about things I should try, So y'all just
hit me with all of them. I'm I'm gonna be
here for the whole sum so I plan on getting
in the communities and learning.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Any more questions for Tip?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
All right, I'm going to continue the conversation. So you
just talked about wanting to get active in the community.
Any any pillars that you want to set that work.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Actually, yeah, So through my brand Saia or Nara, my
two main things is financial literacy and mental health awareness
because those are two things like really near and dear
to me. Close to me, I went through things and
still to this day where those two things are really
important to me and for even me learning, so I
know there's like a lot of people out there.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Who don't even have the opportunities.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I get to learn that from people and just experience
like no janky stuff. I don't mean to, you know,
throw those words out there, but no yanky stuff. So
I'm learning right now. I'm in the process. So we're
kind of coming up with programs and initiatives for people
who can't get those things or don't know where to
start with. Adding mental health awareness to you and the
things that you do, and also financial literacy because those
(23:02):
things are important, like because you can make money, but
you got to learn how to keep it circulated invested
so that you can create generational wealth for your family.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
And I think that's important for me and for people
to learn.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
So, like I said, through my brand side Ronara, we
want to start a lot of those programs here.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
If y'all don't mind that, and if you want to
join and be a part of that, there will be
a way.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Like I said, we're working on it right now, so
when it comes out, y'all, y'all will definitely know.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
He talked about financial literacy and creating generational wealth. And
this past November, the WNBA and the Players Association opted
out of the current collective bargaining agreement and so now
they have the chance to negotiate for another year to
get the players more money. How excited are you for
the negotiations that are ongoing currently and just for the
(23:50):
opportunity to potentially make.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
More I mean, you've seen the dance, so you know
how excited I am about it.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
But it's not even just about the money.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
It's just about like we've been on this journey for
so long and it's being recognized that we do deserve more,
and we do we work really, really hard to get
to where we are, so just for the world to
be catching on and we're getting seen, We're getting sponsors,
were getting partnerships left or right.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
It's just amazing the feelings.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
So all the work, all the hard work is paying
off and that makes.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Players like us feel really good to be a part of.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
Yeah, I mean, I think the last one for me
is just as we think about you know, everything that
we've seen, and even for you specifically the legacy you
left in Atlanta, the time that you spent in Connecticut,
the time having the time of your life in Las Vegas,
and now being able to be a charter member for
lack of better words, for an inaugural team here in
(24:46):
the Bay Area. What legacy do you want to leave?
What is that thing that you want people to be
able to say about tip when you're done.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
With playing, Oh, don't do it to me now?
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Which is no time soon, no time soon, no.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Time time a time let me lie.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
I mean, I guess just who I am for real.
That's why I want people to like know me. I
want y'all to learn me like I want to learn you.
And I think that being a part of my legacy
is good for me. Because I know I'm a good person.
I know I work hard. I know I want others
to be happy, I want world peace.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
I just know me as a person.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
So I think that as a legacy for me leaving
that like people seeing me as that, like as myself.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
I would be very happy with that just being it.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
And before we wrap up, we obviously are here for
NBA All Star Weekend and your new teammate Kayler Thornton
is going to participating in the celebrity game. But what
excites you the most about being in the Bay Area
here for NBA All Star Weekend.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
I mean, besides it's my first time. I don't know
what doesn't excite me.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
I just was out today and the little tramps that
we will be so dope. Man, y'all get that. Y'all
get to have that, and that's cool. Like little things
like that, Like I've never seen one of those in
real life. I've always seen them on the movies or
TV or something. So I'm like a real be where
my feet are type of person, So anything small like that,
(26:11):
it'll get me.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Like, so I'm like a kid man.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
I enjoy myself so much because the little things really
really excite me, and I love that about myself. That's
been a part of my journey to getting where I
am today. So just like being where my feet are
and everything only excite me.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
So yeah, you're about to have so much fun.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
I can't wait. I can't wait.
Speaker 5 (26:30):
I'm not well.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
TIF.
Speaker 1 (26:33):

looking forward to seeing what the Golden State Valkyries do
