Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, y'all, I'm Julie. Hi there, I'm Brenda. Welcome to
Insider's Guide to the Other Side. Now y'all need to
know that we're obsessed with everything on the other side.
Yes we are, because once you learn to navigate the energetic,
or to some the invisible world, life is going to
be more fun and much more serene. Heck, yes it can,
(00:25):
because let's be honest, Brand earth school is hard. In fact,
you taught me that. Let's crush earth School together. Welcome
to Insider's Guide to the Other Side, a production of
I Heart Radio. Hello everybody, or as my fellow are Consinians,
which I don't think that's what they call themselves. Hi, y'all,
(00:47):
I don't know what they call Arkansans, but that sounds
like you're kind of mushing to states together, Arkansas and
Kansas Arkansans. I want to call us our considiens. So
we're already starting off today in a very meandering way.
We will eventually meander through um the topic of ghosts photography,
(01:08):
which we I think are very clever calling it exposed.
But before we dive into ghost photography, there's something I
want to talk about. Brent, talk to me. I probably
for the next year, we'll be talking about how I
turned fifty this year. Okay, because you're gonna bet because
I fifty all year long. Get used to people, Right,
I'm fifty And for my fiftieth birthday, I bought myself
(01:31):
a garment watch, and well, it's not as fancy as
your Apple watch. I just have to say I didn't
want the Apple Watch because I really I don't need
people to beginning in touch with me all the time.
I don't need to see if there's a text message
or an email or a phone call. Don'ty that. Um.
What I wanted is to really play on my obsessions
(01:53):
in my O c D. So a garment watch it
was like an Apple watch. It's like captainet. It is
like for real, but it's measuring catnip um. I wanted
to track my steps. I wanted to track my sleep
because we're eventually going to talk about sleep, like we'll
we will dive in folks to sleep Nature's nctar oh Man.
(02:16):
And I wanted to track other exercise like swimming and
things like that. So this garment watch, I'm turning in
to forest fucking gump with walking because I'm o c D.
I have to achieve everything in fact, so everybody knows.
The other night I sent Brenda a screenshot of my garment, like,
what the day was? I missed my step go by
(02:37):
nine flipping steps, nine out of like sixteen thousand or
whatever it was. It was nine steps. See this is
how it plays into my O c D. And okay,
so this is a number of days ago and we're
still talking. We are seeing right, See this is what
turning fifty does. Oh you were like this. I probably
was like this before, but respectfully it really good point.
(03:01):
But I now because garments sets goals. So I started
out with like ten thousand, I'm legitimately up to sixteen
thousand a day, and that is the goal. I'm seriously
going to turn the fourth Cup because sixteen thousand steps
for little midget legs like I have a little short
stops little they are so my god, I was born
with a really long waist and the shortest legs on
the planet. That they're gonna have me walking all day
(03:23):
Like I will walk, I just I will I will
not sleep, I will just walk. Now. My dog Sookie
loves it because she's having a hell of a time
with me and my steps on garments. So she's like
every morning she gets to our walk. Seriously, I mean,
I want to be my dog, um, But I think
in you truth be told, you will send me your
steps and you will achieve the same number of steps
(03:45):
that I have had in a day. And I'm out
and about walking around a neighborhood, at golf course whatever.
You only stay inside. That happens sometimes they don't love
the house and I still get the same number of stuff.
How do you do that? You're moving constantly and I've
been to your house obviously, and you have a lot
of stairs, so you definitely hit the stair goal. Isn't
that unusual for me to do like thirty stairs a day?
(04:07):
That's crazy my own I get stairs just from the
because I live in the Ozarks now truly hillbilly amazing
and again they make great pie, um, but I get
them from the hills. So but I think this story
actually fits in quite well with talking about ghost photography
because when that was my thing, it became my thing
(04:30):
is because I'm obsessive and O c D. So this
the watch is no different then the ghost photography. Every
light has a shadow, and every shadow has a lot. Right.
Wait are you saying which one is my shadow? And
you said city can be a problem. That can Oh, No, see,
I think it's great. I think every shadow that you do.
(04:52):
So again, today's ghost Photography Day. What we're gonna talk
about it? And I think that we'll make today a
national holiday. We'll call it a ghost photography a national holiday.
How you can celebrate that, I think with costumes, with costumes.
I think with costumes, I think that is necessary and
I wanted to be separate than Halloween. We have to
have a different kind of costume for a ghost photography,
which I think is just to be the sheet over
(05:12):
our head and would cut out holes for the eyes
like Casper Casper, So that would be costumes. Yeah, that's
what I think today should be. Today's be National ghost
Photography Day. And you might be asking yourself, Julie, why
do you want to proclaim today is a national holiday
for ghost photography? And as if we don't talk about
my dam book enough, we're gonna talk about dam book
little bit more. And by my damn book, it means
(05:35):
my damn experiences because they were actually quite extraordinary to
someone like myself and probably too many of you out
there was not extraordinator to Brenda because she lives in
this world with spirits and ghosts. It was a wonderful book.
It's such a beautiful love letter to your mom. It
was definitely a love letter to my mother, for sure.
I had a friend that when she read the first
Patriot was the dedication to Mom, she was I couldn't
(05:57):
go any further because it couldn't stop crying. I'm like,
that was my mom, right, she was awesome. It is
still awesome, by the way, and I'm sure she's hanging right.
She'll probably come visit. She comes and visit you. During
this you have to tell everybody what she's saying, as
long as it's sun embarrassing for me, Like if she
tells me to get my bangs out of my eyes,
that if she says she did talk about right, I
(06:18):
know she does, and she's like, is that the longest
it's ever been? But if she starts getting to my weight,
that's a no go. So we're gonna leave that one
alone because somebody has issues with that. But so it's
a national holiday because it is like the thing that
really sent me on a trajectory that I never thought
it was possible, right, So just everybody knows, I lost
(06:41):
my mom to Alzheimer's eight and a half years ago,
almost nine years ago, and I met you around that time.
Not long after that did we meet at the boy's house.
And so my past started really with you, And so
I was learning from you, and I was in awe.
I was in awe that you could actually have a
conversation with my mother and weirdly sound like her, or
(07:03):
have a conversation with the moment and a weirdly sound
like her. And you were also so giving and so
loving and so just healing. But that was all you.
And so that started because I started to feel like, oh, okay,
I can start moving out of this profound sadness. But
when things really shifted is when I started, you know,
really finding those that I had those abilities myself. I
(07:26):
don't know ghost photography is technically an ability, because I
think anybody can take a picture of a ghost. I'm
going to guess all of you have actually taken picture
of a ghost, doubt you know, but especially with the
crazy amount of selfies, and well that's what I think
we're seeing a lot more now because we're taking more photographs.
But people often don't have to eyes to see. That's
(07:48):
that's the thing. We have to bring up that skill
and share the wealth because I don't think I would
have seen them before, you know, I don't think, so
we're gonna call it pb uh MPW post witch that
I don't think that I would have. I don't think
I had the eyes to see. So I think the
(08:08):
gift that I had and no I had at the time,
I had the eyes to see. So I'm gonna take
everybody back to that fateful nights of when I saw
my first ghost in a photograph. And it's really funny
is I've actually looked at photographs that I've taken before,
and I have found ghost in there and never saw
them everywhere. That's what's actually really cool is that once
you can you do have those eyes, you can go
(08:30):
back and look at your whole library or another fun thing. Listen,
I'm going on tangents, So every just kind of roll
with us. This is gonna be one of those conversations
that we're going to be going on tangents a lot,
but we'll get you back to where where we need
to be. But there is the Burbank, the AMC Burbank
Theater in Burbank, California has in this. When you it's
(08:50):
in the mall, it's like an outdoor mall. And when
you're walking through this walk away from the parking lot's
a really high high ceiling and tall walls. They have
these old photographs that are blown up and the photographs
are people in an audience old, right, So I stood
there with my lovely wife and with Patricia Bankins, and
we're pointing out all the ghosts that are in these photographs, right,
(09:15):
these groups shots of people in a movie theater from
I'm going to guess like forties or fifties is gonna
this is gonna be my time stamp on these photographs.
And they are so big, these ghosts, and they are
so obvious to people like us. But I guarantee you
that thousands upon thousands upon thousands and have walked by
(09:36):
those photos and never saw the ghost. So back to
the day of my faithful day when I finally had
the eyes to see. But as another tangent, I want
to go, but I won't self editing, I know, no,
it's like well, it's it's like self control is what
I'm trying to practice, right, now I have my fist
clenched story. Yes I want to. We did. We had
(10:00):
an off site at a hotel by the Fox Lot,
and this was years ago, and we were downstairs in
this area and it was like we broke from our
separate rooms. And they have these big pieces of art
that are out and they were photographs and this one
particular photograph if you've ever taken a picture of like
a stoplight at night where you see like the little
(10:22):
like the color, the circles of color, like, Okay, I'll
post a picture of this so people connection with the
hell I'm talking. I know I'm not very good at
I'm not very good at well descriptions of art. I'm
not really the best at What I found though, is
that in these it wasn't a picture of orbs. There
were actually lights, like like a city, and at night
(10:42):
you can see to sell all the lights, and in
them were ghosts, not in all of them, but in
many of them that they were these little ghosts. So
I'm dragging my colleagues up one at a time and
showing them the ghosts that are in this photograph. And
why I still employed after that, I have no idea.
(11:03):
But when you again. Have those eyes. It's like I
see them. You can't wherever I go, I can't write
any time there's photographs of some sort, you know, even
when it's framed and hung in a highatt regency where
of the hell we were. Um, they're there too, Okay,
So back to that faithful day. Susanne and I just
(11:24):
arrived home from a trip. We saw you on that trip,
and then we went to New Orleans because we all
know how much I well, we all don't listeners. You
now know I love New Orleans. I love New Orleans
big and hard. And we came home. Look in the
kitchen and in the kitchen window I call it a
bird stain. A bird had flown into our window, and
(11:46):
you could see from the oil and the dust you
could see even the beak of the bird and the
and the feathers were or the wingspan flew straight into
the window. And I immediately went out side and like
a crap, we're gonna have a bird carcass and then
Susanna getting a fight because we're gonna fight about who's
going to have to remove the bird carcass. PS. This
(12:06):
has happened before, um, and I think it was her turn,
but she would lie and say it was my turn.
And that's why I kept taking the getting rid of
bird carcasses. So anyway, so I look outside and there's
no bird carcass. I'm like, this is really weird. So,
like everything we do in our life now with mobile devices,
I take a photograph of it, and I texted to
you my fateful and what was your response back to me? Yeah,
(12:29):
whatever about the bird? Right? But I notice the spirit
of my elf. Right, You're missing what the picture actually is.
You said, open your eyes, my elf, there's a spook
in your photograph. And I'm like, what are you talking about?
And lo and behold there were multiple ones. Actually I
(12:50):
think they were three, right, yeah, there was. So most
people would probably be like, Okay, that's interesting and kind
of move on. Okay, not somebody you has to meet
their goals that Gorman gives them every day, and they
turned into Forrest Gump. That is me. So I start
taking pictures of everything because I think where I was
at that time, I was still grieving hard because I
(13:13):
only lost Mom, we lost one of our closest friends,
moned to a car accident, so I had compounded grief
and then by the way when you did the reading
for us, when you were on the phone and Cincinnati
and we were in l A at the boy's house,
my dad showed up because my dad had passed at
that time, about thirty years prior, and so I had
(13:33):
that grieving that started as well. So it's like there's
a lot of grieving I was doing, and so grieving
break for anyone who's grieving. Remember that we grieve exponentially.
We don't grieve linearly individual grief for this individual grief
for that on linear, it is exponential. We grieve all
of our grief with each additional one and think of
(13:56):
it this way. We go to weddings. One reason why
we love to go to weddings is because we love
exponentially too, right, because when someone takes that beautiful leap
of faith of saying yes, we remember why we said
yes to love, Why when we were brave and said
yes to love, and are we get inspired to say
yes to love? And it's it's the same yes, different directions. Yeah,
(14:17):
mine was compounded grief because it was like all of
a sudden, they were all piling up, right, So during
that time I was feeling quite invisible. So I was like, wait,
I'm seeing things and these photographs are invisible to other people.
And during that time I even started to see like ghosts,
not through that through the lens, not not through the
lens well. And that's why it's such a great un
(14:39):
ramped to this sort of world, right because everyone has
a cell phone, so we can snap pictures and it's
like a gateway drug. It's a gateway drug. It's like
a joint, except it's not a drug. But it's not
because it's real. But what happens is then you start
seeing it without the camera and then you're like, wait,
this is real. Yeah, it was very and if this
(15:00):
is real, then what's possible? Right? And so I took
nine photographs and medium that is my ashamed yet proud
because it is kind of ridiculous because of the O
c D. So what happened was after Brenda you said,
open your eyes in my elf and just remind everybody
I'm in elf because I'm busy all the time and
(15:23):
doing things and making things and just busy. That's why
I'm enough. You said that you might want to be
a where that you could have opened a ghost portal,
a portal at your house I'm like a crap because
guess what. When you're like, wait, there's some ghosts in there,
I want more, guess what happens? More show up, more
show up. So I am like, well, I'm also very protective.
(15:46):
So me and my dog, Homer, my lab God rest
his soul, my boy. We lost about a year ago. Everyone.
We're still sad about it. In our household, he and
I would go sage the perimeter of the house because
I believe that you said I could have opened a
ghost portal outside of the house. So I started saging everything.
But here's what happened that was really strange. I sat
(16:07):
the sage pot down one night because it was still burning,
and I was a girl scout. You will find out
when you see our photographs what a girl scout I was.
That is a tease. I was a girl scout and
I learned to not leave, you know, burning stuff unattended.
So I put the safety first, right right, And so
I put the sage pot down, and then for some
(16:29):
weird reason, I started taking pictures of the smoke. And
then when I went to go look at the pictures,
there were ghosts and it was kind of crazy. It
was like jesse Ff. Why the ghosts were always there.
Of course, they were always just trying to help. I'm
just trying to help. I had the ghosts were always
there and the sage illuminated them. Yeah, they were like
(16:50):
a camp. It's like smoke was a canvas for them,
because the first ghost, smoke was a canvas for you. True,
they didn't need noted correction. I love when you do that,
especially publicly. I'm such a nerd. You're such a nerd.
They actually took the shape of the smoke and they
looked I mean, she took the shape as and they
(17:11):
were three d took this shape. I mean, it was
really amazing that I could see and not just one,
but there could be hundreds in one photograph, like they
were having a ghost party in my backyard, which is
kind of cool because they had that party there for
a really long time, by the way. But before I
started seeing them in smoke and ops, I also could
(17:31):
see them on other people's photos, other smoke shots, like
and sadly there are listen, there's photos of pretty much
anything on the internet now, but there were photographs I
saw of like post car accidents and like you know cars,
but that were burning and the smoke was coming up.
I swear that I saw spirits that had left bodies
(17:51):
in that smoke. It can also be spirits coming to
escorts or escorts showed up. I could make a joke,
but I won't because it was a very serious moment
that you used the word escort. You I mean, I know,
I totally did. But then my twelve year old boy
brain went in that place of escorts. So but before
I started to see them in the smoke, what how
I would see them before? And I think it's important
(18:13):
if anybody cares are interested in wants like backhet your
old photographs. Color is something that's really interesting because what
I saw the color green, which show up in places
where it kind of didn't belong to belong in the
color purple. There's a movie called that, by the way,
but grain and a book right right, and there's the
(18:33):
Green Mile, so there's green. So here are movies based
on the colors. You can see ghosts in your photographs.
So green and blue were the two colors that I
could see. The other thing that I would see a
lot of ghosts and that boy, this was fun on Facebook,
look at people that were taking pictures around glass or mirrors,
because as a reflective service, yep, I'm talking, it serves
the same way that smoke does. It captures it. It
(18:56):
captures that you've maybe heard of, you know, people that
use different crystals to gaze into the crystals. And that's
the same principle, right that about being reflective. We just
at the same time one two three reflective. You didn't
play my game. I'm pissing, I know, but that you
missed my game. But you can go back and look
at old photographs and if you look careful enough, you
(19:18):
can actually see their energy a mass together. And I
think that's a really interesting thing too, because I've looked
at photographs. In fact, I had one in our conference
room at twenty century Fox. I can talk about this
stuff now because I don't work there anymore and actually
can't fight and they can't fire me again. So um
(19:38):
so I was severed. Technically it was laid off, but whatever.
They can't fire me twice. It's like double jeopardy. But
on the conference table there is like a head on
the table and it looks like white smoke, but there
was no smoke in the room. So you can look
for these masses and if anybody really wants to see
that picture, it is on Instagram on Ryan Reynold's Instagram
(20:03):
from after the first Deadpool, because that is actually the
picture that I looked at where there was that yeah,
like it looks like a head of a man, like
that's further down on the table. I also had a
weird ghost coming out of my hair and that picture,
I'm like, get out of my hair, literally, get out
of my hair, not figure, literally get out of my
damn hair. It actually let me go back to again
(20:25):
to clarify what is a ghost and what is a spirit,
because I've been asked many times it's like, well, what's
the difference between a ghosts and the spirit? And I'm
like nothing. I mean there is, but I say nothing
because I didn't want to call it the spirit photographer.
I thought the ghost photographer was more fun to call it,
so I just used the term ghost very loosely. I
have pictures of people that have passed like they show
(20:45):
up like in human form. I actually have a photograph
of my mother the night before my forty five birthday.
And if you haven't heard, I'm fifty, um all a
year I'm fifty. But I have a photograph dated August six,
and my birthday's August seven, So next year, I hope
everybody remembers I am a Leo. You're getting all the
(21:06):
Leo right now. She came through the night before my birthday. Um.
I have another one called Mr black Eye, and that
guy looked like he had the ship beat out of
him before he crossed over. But there's other things that
we can capture and captured we Oh my god, that
was so amazing. So I was at Brenda's house and
not that long ago November. Yeah, we had a new puppy.
(21:29):
Her name is Lulu. She's so she was. She is
a sassy girl, so smart, so fun, and it took
me seven years after my hip to who lived to
be twenty past. Took me seven It's like a miracle,
like she that's a record. Maggie. Maggie was like an
extraordinary creature. Yes she still is. So we agreed to
(21:49):
get this puppy. This puppy was a beautiful puppy, but
puppies are a boat and what kind of dog is she?
She is a cavapoo, sweetest thing ever. But there's just
a lot of work and you were taking pictures Julie's
taking pictures of Lulu and because she's so damn cute.
She's so cute and she looks like sicky and mini
versions and in this one picture sitting next to Lulu
(22:12):
on the floor but kind of watching her like him
like like you're a hot mess kind of thing. It's
my dog, Maggie. That was the craziest thing. So, yes,
I was taking pictures of Luke because Lulu always has
something in her mouth. Yes, she's a little very mouthy girl,
very mouthy girl, and she like as a puppy, would
get like things that shouldn't fit in her mouth. She
somehow like got her jaw to go wide open and
(22:34):
could get like a tennis ball nut bull dog. Now,
so I'm taking photographs of this because I think it's
really cute. And I remember that I looked at one
and I looked at you because also I know how
you feel about man. I mean like, yeah, she's is
one of the biggest loves of your life, there's no doubt.
And I hesitated, if you remember I hesitated. I was
(22:56):
sitting there and I was like joyous because I actually
knew it was Maggie. Yeah, And do I show word
what do I do with this? Like I just kind
of and I go brand I I think I think
Maggie is here. Well, Maggie is always here and she
has always And I showed you the picture of Maggie
and you're like, oh my god, that's such a great picture, right,
(23:18):
How great is that? So we can not only our
loved ones can show up photographs like our human loved ones,
but our very loved ones can also show up. I
have not gotten a picture of Homer. I'm just gonna
say out loud, shout out here, yeah, Homer, you got
to show although I think I would lose it though,
I think it's too soon for me to say. I'm
about ready to get misty again, like I must cried
in the last one. I gonna do it again about
(23:39):
my damn dog, Homer. I had to say at the
pust to pull myself out of things. But we also
get other ento tease if you will, and photographs. Tell
us some of your favorite I saw creatures that look
like they came out of a children's book, a story book.
There is like this magnificent kind of like magician meets centaur.
(24:03):
I mean he's so cool. I mean he's so super cool.
I have had Mr king Frog. I do not know
what he is, but he had a crown, you know,
just some crazy like you know, we think these are
only things in our imagination, and I think it's actually
the opposite. I think they start on the other side
and come into our imagination. I think that's fair, you know.
(24:25):
I think there're's so many dimensions that we can't even
conceive how many dimensions there are. And I think they're
all in my backyard. They all coalesced in my backyard,
and we have access to all of them. And I
will tell you, because you had asked me before about
what was harder to come out as gay or as
like the ghost Photographer, what an extraordinary that I named myself.
(24:46):
I will tell you the hardest thing about the Ghost
Photography part of it coming out was when I would
tell people that I had a picture of an alien
that was weird. It's still weird because I had to
tell the side to run away at to even tell
everybody that's listening now about the alien in my backyard. People.
Aliens are triggers for people, and I actually think that
(25:06):
there is a collective consciousness of people who have had
that encounter that affects people in a way. That is,
whether it's this lifetime or another lifetime, that it triggers
that fear because usually the experience. I'm not saying aliens
are good, bad, or and different, but they're people who
(25:29):
have had those encounters and shared those stories. There's usually
trauma associated with it. I would think, so and so
when that that's just too real for them. It's one
thing to watch it on a movie screen, and it's
one thing. You know, I might share it with a
small group, but if you're telling me that you actually
took a picture one that means they might have more
access to me through you or something like it just
it just makes people back. Well. During that time, I
(25:50):
mean when I was like, I mean, I felt like
it's that typical gay coming out story of like at
the Thanksgiving table and it's like, I'm gay, Please pass
the potatoes, you know, Like that's what it feels like
when I dropped the alien. But when I would drop
the alien, the craziest thing is that all these people
would start telling their stories about seeing a spaceship, and
(26:11):
people that I've known my whole life and have never
said a word, wouldn't never said a word, or if
they did, they were a kid and told their mom
or dad their mom and said, don't ever say speak
of that again, or you made that up or you
made that discounted or whatever it is. Because I think
the funny thing we're going down the alien right. Will
go back to photography in a second, but I think
(26:31):
what I have learned from the experience, because I was
neither here nor there on aliens, I'm like, oh, okay,
well I was kind of whatever I just captured when
like I captured everything. Yeah, I was like, all dancing
chickens are my favorite. But it was a big thing
for a lot of people. And what I found, I
think during the experience is people are okay because if
you look at statistics, because you know, I am a
(26:51):
nerd at heart, statistically more people believe in aliens than
they do ghosts. But here's where the statistics will change
because they believe in aliens are on other planets. They
don't believe they're here. And that's what I learned is
that I had people say, wait, what your what here here?
If you went here, it wasn't a big telescope, right,
that's exactly. But it's like that's where it got. Really,
(27:14):
I'm like, uh yeah, here, how could Why wouldn't they
be here? Right? So you can capture pictures of aliens
and your iPhone or your motto whoever makes phones, or
just in your mirrors or in your mirrors, but an
in your crystal, right, they can all show up. So
(27:36):
I captured all these. I mean, from a spectrum of
my mother to your dog, to win alien, to a
centaur adicition looking guy to a king frog. But let
me tell you that what was the scariest, the weirdest,
I don't know what other words to put behind it.
Luckily wasn't a picture that I took. But I have
(27:58):
a thing for skulls. Yes, you know this is going
down the wrong road already when I say I have
a thing for skulls, But I do. I love skulls,
and I love them because they are a reminder that
the body is not permanent. Right. It's like, now we're here, temperate,
we're visitors, and to me, that's what the skull represents.
It's not like the skull and crossbones poison kind of
thing that some people translated to, but that's how it
is for me. So I actually met someone who carved
(28:21):
crystal skulls, and I want to one car for myself.
And it weighs sixty five pounds, by the way, it's Courts.
And his name, the guy that carved it, he's in
China and his name is not weighed, but he says
it's weighed because he gave himself an American name. I
think that happens a lot, so Wade, it's not Jim,
because every guy to ask his Jim. So this guy
(28:42):
Waite was sending me photographs of like the progress of
my skull. Then he starts sending me photographs of other skulls.
I think he wanted to sell me, and I shift
you not that, And I will post this for everyone
because it is freaky af as f as fuck. It's
freakings fuck. There is this entity and it's like it
(29:04):
looks demonic and to me, and it's dark, and it
also it looks like it changed the material makeup of
these other skulls because it was like kind of coming
through them. Like these spirits have the ability to change
what we think is physical because everything's energy. Like they
(29:26):
have the ability to shift what an object looks like.
And I have it in pictures and it's weird. And
I remember staring at it and I wrote way back
and I he said to most As, I said, honey,
I don't think I want those skulls. I don't want
you contaminated entity written skull Sell those to someone else.
(29:52):
And I told him I took a screenshot of it.
I startled and said, you've got something going on in
that really need to go take care of. And of
course he's like, oh, hard, Julie, only you would see
something like this. I'm like, okay, well you're in trouble, buddy.
But I've also seen with my eyes, like I've seen
ghosts or spirits change, Like a picture came at me
one time, and that was really freaky. It was really
(30:16):
really fucking cool. But it was freaky cool. And I
would say for people listening that this happens all the time,
and it can be in the smallest ways where you're
looking for something, you can't find it, you can't find it,
can't find it, and you go back to look for
the hundredth time what feels like the hundredth time in
a place and you're like, oh my god, it's right there.
Why can't I find that? Like if it's two car
keys or something like that, or your phone or whatever
(30:38):
it is. Sometimes it's just you needed to be delayed,
you needed to not take the call that came in
on your phone. In that moment. There were things that
they will veil and they will disappear, and they will
change the appearance of things. They will change the appearance
so that you just don't see it. Unbelievable. And there's
another photograph and it is on my personal Twitter account.
(31:00):
Is one of the first things I've been on. So
I'm gonn encourage everybody to go to look. And I
think it's at Julie Riga writes, I think that's what
it is. I should know. I should know my Twitter account.
But you'll see my facial now we can put it
on the insiders. Yeah, well we'll put it on that.
But one of my first ones. And I pulled it
off the web because I'm there are dark spirits out
there well as well, you know, like everything is balanced
(31:20):
in the world, right, there is dark, there was light,
there was beautiful, there was ugly. You know, there is
poison ivy and then the antidote grows right next to it. Right,
there is a balance in the world, and so there's
of course, darkness is also in the world, and it
comes in the form of things that can attach themselves
to you in a bad way and make you crazy,
make you do bad things. And but there's a picture
(31:41):
that was on Huffington's post and it was of mar
Lago and President Trump and the Japanese PM Aube And
it looks like there's an entity and has these like
weird appendages, and it doesn't look like it's Trump's. It
looks like it belongs to Abe. You can just kind
of see in the picture. Go look at it. I
didn't take that photograph. That is a photograph that was
(32:02):
taken and somebody sent it in, who was probably a
member at mar Lago or something like that, sent it in.
And it's like, oh, look, they're at Margot. You know,
they're having a private event whatever, and here's a picture
of the president and you know, and no, I guarantee
you nobody saw that. Nobody saw that I and I
have the eyes to see. So clearly this was part
of my path, you think, right, So clearly it was.
(32:25):
And I have to ask you. I've never asked you this.
Did you know that this was? Like did you when
you met me, or when we got to know each other,
did you know that this was like, Oh, this woman's
life is going to be turned upside down because I
know you that if I didn't ask, you weren't going
to tell me. That's true. That is true. So no
to everybody, if you want to ask something, you'd better
ask her. She ain't gonna tell you. Well, I would
(32:47):
never insert myself into your world. You would not insert
because you don't want to get my way of my journey.
Blah blah blah. Yeah, it's your karmic journey and it's
fun to watch. I knew that the spiritual path was
part of your path. I didn't know it would take
this form. Really yeah, but you knew it was part
of my path. How early did you know? Oh? Well,
when I saw you really well told you I'm super cured.
(33:11):
You guys have to know I love this woman and
I have spent so much time with her. And this is,
weirdly the first time I've asked you this question. Well,
what I would say is, you know, I met you
in such a vulnerable time, and in that vulnera vulnerability,
I could also see the strength of your spirit right
because there was no muscles. She just she just slipped
(33:31):
on the forest. I just have to tell you that, right,
because when we're in that raw state of grief, there's
no no hiding, there's no hiding, there's no place, there's
no surface bullshit, right, there's no look at me, I'm great.
It's just it's just that rawness, that filter Swiss cheese,
if it even has left, right, it's just gone. And
so I get to see you, and you were sitting
(33:54):
at you and Susan and the boys were sitting at
the island, and I was standing behind you, and I
looked at Reuben and I said, is she open? And
he's like, you know, he didn't know. He gave a shrug, like,
I don't know. She's pretty gone right now. It's kind
of what he you know. I was like, okay, And
all I said to you is there's another way. And
but I put my hand on the back of your
heart's like to activate that within you if it was
(34:16):
available for you to feel well, you activated his sister.
Because we're sitting here today, eight years later talking about
all of this. Yeah, I clearly activated. But you were
going to find it one way or another, I believe.
And then so when the ghost starts showing up, we're like, oh,
this is interesting. Yeah, I'm like, there it is. There's
an interesting path. And I thought it's perfect for you
because it's so creative because you need to You do
(34:39):
not need to book study. You need creativity. Terrible books
awful of that. That's the worst thing ever for me.
You need to experience, right, So this is perfect. I
also took some of those ghost photographs and I turned
them into art. Yeah, Like, I took some of them
and like put them through an app that kind of
paints them and they're super cool. So I actually did
(34:59):
do I have ghost start guys of the ghosts of
pictures I've taken, So please post your photos, take them
to highlight them, circle emporus, post your photo if you
think there's something in there, or here's my favorite. I
like when people like to test me. I've had more
readers of my book say oh, can I send you
some photographs and send us to me and I'll run back.
I'm like, there's not a ghost to be found in
(35:20):
this photograph. I'm like, so this is a test Dons. Yeah,
but you don't that, Yeah, I do say that, And
then but I love the ones who actually legitimately want
to know, because I don't want. I don't think I
don't need to be messed with, Like that's not I
think where I am in life that I don't need
that craft, you know, So if you want to like even,
(35:43):
don't give a fine. But I've had people send me
more photographs of some of the most interesting things I've had.
This one woman, oh my god, she was extraordinary, sent
me some photographs after she had her baby, and they
were the sacred thresholds. Gosh, so takered thresholds when we
enter and when we exit the world, right, those are
(36:04):
such crowded. So if you've ever been in the room
where someone passed, the room gets very crowded energetically, the
air gets really thick. It's very thick. You can get hot,
it can get cold, but it's very thick. In the
same at birth, although birth is a little more light,
it feels very different. Yeah, it feels crowded, but it's
not as heavy. Well, because it's like the spirits in
(36:25):
the room or are rejoicing, and like the humans they
experience are rejoicing. It's like, oh, we have a baby,
We're bringing a life, and you know, it's still scary. Yeah,
I have been. I've never not done it myself, but
I had been in the room because Susannah are godmothers
to little Alex and we were in there when her
mama gave birth and it was amazing, by the way.
(36:48):
So these the pictures that people have sent are incredible.
And there's one that I wish that we knew more about.
But it is legit someone who royalty or something that
had passed a good hundred years ago, and you see
this person clear as day. I've sent you those oh yeah,
like crazy things that people just get now right now.
(37:09):
I don't think everybody's path to spirituality is going to
be paved in pictures of ghosts like it works for me.
I think that the other side kind of prescribes are
you know different right as like for you it was
feathers a feather pillow and playing you know with different orbs.
Mine was, you know, nine thousand pictures of ghosts because
(37:29):
I'm obsessed and I have O c D. And Suzanne
is still with me, and I would drive her nuts
every single night thing. Do you see this ghost? You
see that ghost? You see this? Do you see that?
I don't know how I ever got any slate. I
don't think I did, But did I because I have
had a lot of questions that people like, well, why
are they in your backyard? I'm like, I don't know,
They're probably in yours, Yes they are, right. So remember
(37:50):
I've talked about this before. The one of my favorite
movies to represent this is The City of Angels. You know,
I love that, Right, There's that one scene where they're
in the library and they just scan around and there's
these beautiful Calvin Klein trench codes everywhere, which is what
the angels wear. Who knew they like Calvin Coin, so
(38:12):
you know, and they are just everywhere, and they're turning
pages and they're making books, booksdrop, and they're you know,
redirecting your web searches like this is. They are everywhere.
You can't move without hitting a spirit in that movie
with specifically angels, but it's literally you can't move in
the world without hitting one of them. So if you
think this happens only in Julie Reager's backyard, oh my god,
(38:33):
why did you move? Right right? I sold the house
for the book came out. They are everywhere, they really are,
And you can also invoke of course, your loved ones.
All you have to do is call them in. Yeah,
I think I must have started. I mean I had
to invoke, like there was a party there for you
such a long time, and wherever you go when you
invite them in, that party is going to be there. Yeah,
(38:54):
I've learned not to invite them, and yeah, you want
to be discerning. It's like, yeah, I did not need
all that was there. I was fine, Everything was fine.
I had Homer, and I have pictures legit of a
ghost coming out of Homer's but I do there's a
twelve field war. It comes out again for me telling
you that. But I legit have pictures of my dog
with a ghost coming out of his button. I'm like, what,
(39:16):
get out of his ass, Get out of my dog's ass,
Get off his ass. But I have pictures of that
because I have so many pictures of him. When during
my weird because I was during that time, I only
was talking to a few people in in life. I
mean I was working and functioning at work, but I
was really only talking to you. I was talking to Cubby,
and I was talking to Suzanne. It was still a
(39:37):
very tender time, very tender time for me, so I spent.
I would come home from work and waited for it
to get dark out and then I would like Sage
and then I would start taking pictures of the smoke.
And I I'm not kidding. Our house, clothes, everything, our
dog smell like Sage. We smell like Sage. It was insane.
So if you're not O C D, if you're not
(39:58):
obsessed with there's other ways for you to find your
path of spirituality. That happened to be mine. You know.
My last little thing that had happened that was really
crazy is when we were making the book trailer, because
you know people making trailers, we went to the Houdini
Mansion in Los Angeles to go shoot it there because
this is really cool. No ghosts there at all. Ghost
(40:20):
Oh my god. Yeah. I would encourage everybody to actually
find that my trailer to the book, because we took
stills so people can see the ghosts that showed up
during that shooting for the book trailers. So they are
definitely everywhere, And there's ways for you if you're really interested.
There's a really great photo app called pick Shop p
(40:42):
I C S h O P. And because what I
also found in pictures where you can't maybe see them
as they as a picture was taken. You can flip
it into its negative form negative state and you can
see like outlines. I have some amazing photographs that I
took that when I flip them on negative, you see
(41:02):
details of these creatures. Yeah, that's really helpful. Details. And
the other thing I would say that some people are
familiar with or A pictures when you put your hand
on a plate and sometimes spirits will be seen there
as well. Oh seriously, oh yeah, oh gosh, yeah, really
we should go do that. Sometimes I see little faces really,
sometimes just circles. Sometimes color then this color right then
(41:25):
color is fun, but sometimes you can actually see spirits outline?
But do they so? Do they outline? It would sort
of the same as like a like smoke, right that
the color that gets picked up in the photograph, you
give that background that makes it so you can see him.
Oh my god, I know what I want to do tonight.
After do our photo shoot, I want to go find
a place that does or A pictures and we can
see what ghosts show up. Yeah, it'll be fun. So
(41:48):
our assignment is going to be or or A photographs
and see if we can get a ghost to come in.
That's amazing. Maybe we can be a little more discerning
that you think so. Yeah, oh no, well look they're
gonna be ghosts that we want. Okay, I'll Homer Margaret Mona, right, yeah,
we'll just call on the ones we know. Nice, excellent.
(42:08):
That's a wrap. That's a wrap talking about being exposed
and I totally exposed myself. I was dying to say that.
You know that, right, Yes, yes, twelve year old. Go
get some pictures, Go take pictures, send them to us, everybody.
I will look at all of them. My favorite hobby
