Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, y'all, I'm Julie. Hi there, I'm Brenda. Welcome to
Insider's Guide to the Other Side. Now you all need
to know that we're obsessed with everything on the other side. Yes,
we are, because once you learn to navigate the energetic
or two some the invisible world, life is going to
be more fun and much more serene. Heck, yes it can, because,

(00:26):
let's be honest, Brand, earth school is hard. In fact,
you taught me that. Let's crush Earth School together. Welcome
to Insider's Guide to the Other Side, a production of
My Heart Radio. Hey Brand, Hello, Ms Julie. So you know,

(00:46):
our listeners seem like they have something to say. In fact,
they have more than something to say. They have a
lot to say. And they're also asking a lot of questions.
Not just about listening, No, they're about talking a lot
of questions. Yes they are. They are very curious and
they have great questions. I love it when they share
their spirit stories too. So then I think, then what

(01:08):
we should probably do today is let's just go over
everybody's questions. We have so many of them. Were going
to dedicate a whole episode to them. Yes, then we're
calling this episode Insiders inside number one. Oh, I love that.
I love it. Look at you naming episodes, all right,
So let's get started, alright, So let's get started. The

(01:29):
first question is what do you do when you're one
of those who it's hard to be in your body
on the planet. So I love this question because I
know it came out of one of our episodes right
where we were talking about the process of art school
and jumping the planet and sometimes how hard it is

(01:50):
to be embodied. And even in our sign off from
our show, we always say school is hard without the
other side, meaning with the podcast, right, our podcast, and
meaning that without understanding our connection to the spare world.
So it's actually both. This is not just a tagline,

(02:11):
it's real for how I look at the world and
how we see the world. Right. As I've mentioned before,
even when I was a little girl under the age
of five, I remember being so mad at God, Like
I was so pissed that I got dropped in this
family that was um And yes, we had a lot

(02:33):
of love, a lot of playfulness, and a lot of music, like,
we had some great things growing up, but my dad
was also alcoholic, which created all kinds of chaos and pain,
and and I was so sensitive to all that that
it was just like, are you freaking kidding me? How
could you leave me here? I was really pissed and
so and and probably a little despondent, a little depressed.

(02:55):
And the reason I share this story is because it's
important to remember that it is part of the human
spectrum to be depressed, to be piste, to be frustrated.
It is not like there's something wrong with you that
has to be fixed. It's not like you're just a
hot mass and your poor excuse for human for being

(03:16):
a human being. If you are in one of these states,
or even stuck there for years, but there's nothing wrong
with you. It is literally part of the curriculum for
Earth School. Knowing this does not necessarily override any treatments
you might be receiving if you are in that state
right now, whether you're depressed or and prescriptions are having

(03:39):
some treatments of counseling, whatever it is that's working for you,
make sure it's working for you, and if it's not,
find something that does work for you. That's really important.
Just knowing it's part of the human spectrum doesn't mean
you don't need help. Along the way. We all need help.
And one of the things we talked about, or the
reason we're doing the podcast, is to make sure people
know that also asking for help from the either side

(04:01):
is something that's also on the human spectrum, right, So, um,
it makes life more interesting, it makes it more multi
dimensional to remember that this is where we came from.
So that's one of the things I want to talk
about when we think about when it's hard being embodied,
you know, to go along with our analogy of Earth School, right,
depression is one of the more challenging courses in Earth School,

(04:23):
and we come to the earth plane and we forget
that we are really part of spirit. Right, That's one
of the things that going through the birth canal. We
get all squished right for our respiratory system and just
jumps out our organs, but also to go through the
amnesia of forgetting that we are part of spirit. This
is a really important part of the process for the

(04:45):
sheer joy of remembering and rediscovering ourselves and remembering ourselves
reconnecting with the divine essence. That's part of the sheer
joy of coming out of that depression and making that turn.
And just like any thing else, you don't know how
great it is until you've lost it. And so when
you're in that lost part, just like I was before

(05:07):
the age of five, where I was like, well, I
wasn't completely lost because I remember enough to be mad
at God, how did I get this? As I meant,
this is bullshit? You know, I was so mad, But
then remembering and finding my way to connect was everything.
And so there is a reason for these challenging assignments,

(05:28):
these challenging school courses. Does that make sense? It makes
total sense to me. So what's interesting is that we
had another listener that asked the flip side of that question,
and their question is not everyone is thrilled to jump
the planet? And why? And before you answer that, I
just want to do a tip of the hat to

(05:50):
those that are using your language of jumping the planet.
I did not rewrite that question. They wrote it themselves,
and so they're already picking up your your lingo of
jumping the planet. But but to go back to it,
is that you know, not everyone is thrilled to jump
and why is that? Is the question? Well, there are
so many reasons. One Earth School is a lot of fun, right,

(06:13):
So why would you want to leave this party early.
Early is the relative term, right, But people don't want
to leave because it's an amazing journey. Not to say
it's not without its challenges, to be clear. And I
would also say that in general as a culture, we
haven't evolved quite enough to say, hey, if my death

(06:35):
day is finally here, let's have a party now. There
aren't exceptions to that where people have been in sort
of extended critical experiences where they actually do do this.
So I just want to give a shout out for
those leading the way. And I would say most cases
when I've heard of people lingering or they reach out
and they say, you know, my dad just isn't he's

(06:57):
just hanging on and there's no reason and he said
all of his good eyes, and you know my mom
is just struggling to let go, or whatever the condition is,
even if they've been in hospice for a month. And
I know people I've heard of situations where people have
gone without food or water for over twenty days. I mean,
it's been extraordinary. And some is because they have enjoyed

(07:19):
Earth School so much. Some is because there's something that
hasn't been taken care of. There is something that they
are still reviewing before they leave, is what I'd say.
I recently did a session for someone who wanted to
have connection with his mom, which he did, and he
had many questions and they had a great connection. And

(07:40):
then finally he asked her, didn't help you? Was it
meaningful to you to meet with your brother at the
client's uncle and how was you know? Was that okay?
And what this client told me after the session, so
they had an exchange where she had said, actually it
was very helpful and it was lovely to see him,

(08:00):
but it was actually more helpful to him than it
was to me. So in that case, she was actually
hanging on to make this connection with her brother, to
be of service to her brother. And so it was
a situation where she was non communicative. And so this
son called his uncle and said Mom is not in
a good place. If you would like to come see

(08:22):
her before she passes, please come soon. And so this
brother walks into her hospice room. She sits up perfectly straight,
just on the spot, and has a thirty minute conversation,
completely cognizant, completely loving having this connection, even though they

(08:42):
had been estranged for fifteen years, had zero communication as
the brother left and this son walked the uncle out.
The uncle says, I don't know what you're talking about.
She seems amazing, she's in great shape. He says, I
have no idea. We haven't heard from her in weeks.

(09:03):
We haven't seen anything like that in weeks. When the
sun returned to the room, the mom had slipped back
into non responsiveness and was gone within three days. So
this is an example of we don't know of the
work they're doing. We know that they are testing the water,
so leaving their body, testing what it's like to be

(09:23):
in the spirit world fully, but they maybe orchestrating so
that the sun contacts the uncle and they have this
beautiful opportunity to have closure and healing before she leaves
the planet. But what we know is that there's usually
a reason. And oftentimes what I encourage people to do
is simply give them permission. Give them permission to leave.

(09:44):
It helps so much. Thank them for their journey, thank
them for all the lessons, the ones that were celebratory,
the ones that were hard, and to let that be
just part of the process. You know, I would add,
and you tell me if I'm crazy, because you always do,
or you correct me. Let's say that that. I think
another reason that people don't want to leave is because

(10:07):
they're fearful because they don't know what's on the other side.
You know, there's a lot of folks that think this
is it right? Like listen, good old Margaret, Yeah, good
old Margaret used to say, you know, when you're dead,
you're dead, And I'm like, do you really believe that?
And clearly she knows better now. So I think that's
a part because it's fearful to let go because they

(10:28):
don't know where they're going to, if they're going anywhere,
or if they're just going to be a pile of
bones buried somewhere. Is that fair? Yes, that's all real.
That's all real. Yes, absolutely. And I think when people
have the opportunity to have a you know, a slower exit,
they get that that sacred window of moving in and

(10:50):
out of the physical and the spiritual world. They get
greeted by their loved ones, they get to come back
in their body just for a little bit, maybe not
even a way where they can explain it, but they're
still connected with the silver cord in the energy system.
Please see episode on Chakras. They get to stay connected
in this way until they're ready to release completely. I

(11:12):
love that. I think that's totally true, and I think
that is certainly something that helped Margaret go because she was,
you know, the Alzheimer's was hanging around for a long
time and went back and forth and was like, oh,
I guess this isn't all there is, right, and so
that allowed her to go. It's beautiful, you know, along
those lines. I would say this because I was thinking

(11:34):
about you know, we've had some comments about the chakras
and how some people are like, you know, I learned
about this in massage school twenty years ago, but I
didn't know really anything about it. You know, they just
they pointed to it, but they didn't maybe teach it
or explain it. And there's a system that came out
of the Holistic Nursing Association called the Healing Touch that

(11:54):
merges sort of the Western medical and the Eastern energy
processes of the body. And that's something that anyone can
be trained in. And Healing Touch has a technique called
magnetic unruffling that is a beautiful way to help someone
release the body. It really if you're not pushing them
over the planet, you're not doing anything like that, but
when they're ready to release, you can spin the chocolates

(12:18):
backwards and release the energy in a really soothing way.
That's helpful. So because we've had a lot of questions
about how do we help someone in this situation, and
so I thought that would be helpful. So our next
where this is the next set of questions, because some
folks didn't just ask one question. They asked a cluster
of questions, and some of them unrelated. So we're going

(12:39):
to break these down. We're looking in so we can
answer these. Break it down. So the first part of
this unrelated two part question is they said love the
show on death. Thank you, that was made not them
asking the questions, but they ask what about Hell? They
ask what about Hell? Love the show about death? What

(13:00):
about Hell? That's the first part of the question about
you let him have it brand. I'm just gonna say
I actually thought about that during while we were in
that conversation, but then we went in a different direction,
so I left it. So thank you for bringing us
back around. Really appreciate that. And this is what I
say about Hell. It's not just related to death. Everyone
knows that our school can be hell on Earth. I mean,

(13:21):
it can be really really hard, and it really is
a state of mind. It's not something that's done to you.
It's not something that gets put upon you. It's something
that you have created. If you've ever betrayed yourself, p
s who has not, We've all done that. Um. You
could have belittle someone else, or you played small, or
you gave your power away or taken someone else's power

(13:45):
or humanity or dignity, whatever it is, whatever version you
know again, the spectrum of humanity, whatever that happened, that
is literally hell on Earth because you have to live
with that. Even as you tell yourself all kinds of
stories about how you were justified in doing that, it
doesn't count like it's just an intellectual alibi. You know it,
you feel it. It's a little gnawing that says, I

(14:08):
gotta damn better. I could have damn better on Earth
school that day, and it's okay. You have to work
on compassion when you have to work really hard to
numb the horror that you created or the injury that
you created. And this isn't anyone else judging you. You
your body doesn't lie. You know that gnawing feeling and
the afterlife isn't different. So those people who you know

(14:32):
is Julie's mom, Like, I know, I'm just going to
be a pile of bones and that's it. I'm just
dust and there's other people. And the other spectrum is
I know how I lived here and it is not
going to go well for me and the afterlife. You know,
that can be another reason why people don't want to
leave the earth Planebro, what have I done? But as
you move into the spirit world, you land at a

(14:54):
vibrational level that's appropriate for the vibrational level of life
you lived here on Earth. It's a match for match,
and it's not just in this life. You'll go through
a review session, You'll go through a healing session from
this life, and then it kind of gets aggregated with
the other lifetimes you've lived. And I want people to

(15:15):
keep in mind, like if you were raised in a
situation where you didn't know certain civilized customs or laws,
or were ignorant of laws, or you know, things you
just didn't know, You're not really going to be held
accountable in the afterlife for those things that you just
didn't know you didn't grow up knowing. Does that make sense?
It does make sense, I think people because I've had

(15:37):
this question before, separate from our show. You know, back
when I released my book I had, I was gonna say,
was this your question? No, But I know there's some
of these you're gonna think I wrote, and I promised
I didn't write any of these myself. These are none
of mine. But I've been asked this question about is
there a how? And what people associate that too is
you know, the fiery pits of what has been to

(16:00):
picked it in you know, art and film and things
like that, and of course satan is a part of that.
And you know, listen, the satan that I see on
on South Park is kind of a fun satan for
those South Park fans, who I'm sure we have none.
I might be the only one, uh, to both of
ourselves Park fans, we said, just I stand alone in

(16:20):
that one. But they ask about this because they think
that it's a real place, and I think that's probably
what is being asked. And my answer to that, which
is never as clear as yours and I tend to
watch things a lot, as we both know, is well,
I first say, no, there's no such thing as hell,

(16:41):
and I explained about the vibrations that we have when
we cross over. There's low vibration and high vibration, and
if you're operating at a low vibration, it feels like
hell because you can't go party with everybody else, you
can't have fun with them. You're sitting in this low
vibrational place. But there's no satan, there's no fiery pits,
you know. All that to me and I believe because

(17:02):
I we've talked about this, is that this is something
that was created. It's like a story, right to keep
people to pay taxes. Right, Yes, that's exactly right. So
what happened? Again? There is states of hell because we've
all had that Oh my god, Oh my god, I
can't believe that happened. Oh my god, how am I
going to make this up? How can how can I
set this right? You know, I completely messed up or

(17:24):
I'm so sorry. I just wasn't at my best or whatever.
We've all had those regrettable moments because we're in Earth
school and it's hard to any days can be hard,
and we can all strive to do better. So I
actually think there are states of how. It's just not
the version with the little pitchfork and the red horns.

(17:44):
It's not that that's all made up. And again it
was give me in dates and numbers and that's so good.
But as you're doing that, as you're retrieving information, I
just have to say the pitchfork part of it, whoever
created that? That was kind of cool. That was fun.
I think they stole it from Beside. Now, great branding,
great branding with the pitchfork and the color red like
all that was very clever. Yes, yeah, it's very clever.

(18:08):
But the red is interesting, right because it is first
chakolra base and this is tribal rules, right, and so
that's when you when you mess that up, that's when
you get held accountable. So they did create the whole
concept of hell because they were having trouble with people
paying their taxes. Because this is back in the day
before the King James version of the Bible, when reincarnation

(18:29):
was actually still in the Bible and people would say, hey,
i'll catch you next lifetime around no problem. And the
King didn't like that at all, apparently frowned upon that.
So they created this. In the next version, they added
this concept of how to help people, to encourage people
to pay their debts. But there's a couple of things
when I think about how that I really want to

(18:50):
get back to totally giving myself kudos. Coming back to
the point the concept of humanity versus man made law,
and you know, those can be interpreted in very different ways,
and quite frankly, in the laws of court systems. You know,

(19:11):
there's there's oftentimes not just as tied to these situations
as you can look any in any country in the
world where it's either corrupt or you just didn't have
the evidence to prove something, or you didn't know things
were violated, so what information was thrown out? Blah blah
blah blah blah. This happens all the time in courts
of law, which is very different than universal law or

(19:33):
laws of humanity. And the truth is you can get
quote unquote get away with a lot more on the
earth plane then you can in the court of spiritual
laws because your energy field records everything. It records everything.
So this isn't a matter of someone telling on you
or outing you or proving something. It's not about that

(19:54):
at all. When you transition, you don't take your body right,
you drop the body, but you're energy, your whole energy
field gets transported into the spirit world where your energy field.
The chakras are like the black box that records everything
in your system. So you carry that forward and you're like,

(20:15):
here it is, let's review and so you're really outing
yourself in the best way. But that's the good news
and the bad news. So that everything that you're like, oh,
no one found out about that I'm good is right there.
And then all those other times when you were really
good or even silently good, we're also all recorded, and
so it all gets reviewed and logged into your This

(20:39):
is the energetic level you will be residing at when
you get to the other side, and they're not technically
going to a fiery pit of hell with it, dud
with the pitchfork. I just want to be real clear
with folks, right incrase that wasn't clear. Thank you for that.
No pitchforks, although they're cool, but no pitchforks. Second part
of our listeners question again unrelated. Is that kind of

(21:02):
funny too when you think about because when I say
this question, we're like, where did they get that from?
Going from? Is there? Hell? Two? Do dead people see
their funerals? Maybe maybe that maybe a listener thought that
would be hell is to watch your own funeral. I
have no idea, but do dead people see their own funeral?
So the answer that question is sometimes the very unsatisfying.

(21:26):
Sometimes um. And it really depends on how the spirit passed. Right.
Sometimes the passing was traumatic, so you are focused on
other things like healing and recuperation and recovery. And I
think we talked about this a little bit in the
Day of the Dead. A day in the life of
the dead is the title life. Those are two very
different topics. It is Day of the Dead and Day

(21:47):
of the Life of the Dead are two very very
different topics. Brin. So it just depends. Sometimes they see
the funeral. Sometimes actually, spirits are not interested in the
funeral at all. They're like, I'm all right. If they
hit a long lingering transition, they may be like, Oh,
I can't wait to get rid of this body. I'm
so excited. I am so ready to be jumping and

(22:08):
to jump and be free. Now. We also discussed how
spirits can be in more than one place at a time.
But remember there are different traditions of handling the body,
so some are faster than others, some are slower than others,
which can give a chance to recover a little and
also participate in their watching their funeral. But for the
most part, they're not overly I'm watching mine. I've already decided,

(22:31):
of course, I might orchestrate it. Actually, I all have
specific instructions of what everyone should wear, and what they
should say and what they can eat. I'm just kidding.
I'm not going to do any of that very talented
makeup artist who said, I just want everyone to wear
makeup to my funeral. Oh my gosh, whoever that is,
I cannot attend their funeral. It was, that's really funny,

(22:54):
not too much to ask, it was really funny. So
our our next question, and it was and I and
I'm being very literal, like I'm taking people's exact words,
and so with this one in particular, I wasn't sure
if they meant spirit family here on earth or spirit guide.
So we're going to answer their question, and I think

(23:16):
in both ways. So they're really what they're asking is
how do you connect with your spirit family? Is the
exact question that they asked. And then I think, which
is a very different question, Well it's kind of different,
but not different, which is how do you connect with
your spirit guides. Let's start with the Earth, the Earth family,
because the truth is, they're all around you. Look open

(23:36):
your eyes. You just go ahead and live live your life,
and you're going to run into them. I promise you
now to be clear, like, do not get confused that
just because they are your spirit family, that it is
all love and light. These are the people that are
going to tweak you faster than any want anyone else.
They're just gonna push your buttons. They're gonna challenge you.
They're going to call you on your crap in a

(23:57):
flipping heartbeat, right, my gosh, it's just fast. Yes, yeah.
And there are also the people that you can't live without.
They're like, wait, you left in town and you didn't
tell me, right, You can't really imagine what that's like
to be without them, because you don't feel right when
they're not around, or you haven't heard from them in
a couple of days or something. You know, like you

(24:17):
have to have them around, so don't worry. They're around you.
They sometimes will be failed, and they sometimes are actually
people who come in. They're with you. They're so tight
with you. It could be six days six years. It
can you know, it can be a short amount of time,
and then they move on and you're like, oh, yeah,
I remember that person was extraordinary, but that wasn't You
didn't need them to stay for the who your whole life.

(24:39):
They you needed them to guide you, to redirect you,
to remember, to help you remember who you were in
that moment through that challenge or whatever was going on,
and then like my job, my work here was done,
and then they move on and have their lives. I
think that's a really confused I guess a really really
really important point for people is not just to identify

(25:00):
know your spirit family, but to understand that not everybody
is supposed to be in your life forever, so to speak,
or during the entire lifetime, because I you know, I've
run across a lot of folks that have a hard
time purging people from their life that they need them
to be gone, but they don't want to do that,
or you know, go chasing after someone to be back

(25:20):
in their life something like that. But it's but I
think to your point that you made it so valuable.
So I just I just wanted to pause on that one,
because I think that was a really important point for folks,
I know exactly what you're talking about, because even I
have clients that I was so close to their entire
family for a specific phase. It could have been a
longer phase. Sometimes it's a shorter phase, but it was

(25:40):
so intimate and really seeing them and their challenge and
supporting them in ways, and then I don't hear from
them for decades. Well, and to be very clear, in
case you're wondering, I will stalk your ass if you
try to bail out of my life during this lifetime.
I was gonna let you know that right now. The end. Okay,

(26:04):
So the second part of the well, we made up
the second part of the question about how do you
connect with your spirit guides? The spirit guides, So in
case that was the intended question, this is going to
be a rinse repeat situation, which is soften your focus.
Soften your focus, softs in your focus in a way
that your conscious mind can get just a little soft.

(26:27):
This can be through many ways. Of course, sitting meditation
is often referred to. It's not the only path. You
can swim. You can conjure them in your dreams, You
can do any repetitive activity so that your conscious mind
is not hyper focused. You can run, you can walk,

(26:47):
you can be in nature, you can needle point, you
can garden, you can polish rocks or metals or whatever
it is where your your mind just softens, and then
you can become more aware of what's happening around you
in the energy fields. What was that little flesh in
the corner of my eye? Oh, I remember this vision?
Where was that? You know, like those soft little whispers,
and you'll get visions. And I think I've told this story,

(27:10):
but I'm gonna tell again because it's fun so much
as when I first became aware of my spirit guide
named Blue Star. I didn't know her name because people
always want to know what are my guide's names? All right?
But I would see these sparkles, like litter on the
floor of my apartment when I would come home from
doing readings in Mount Adams. So I'd come home at

(27:30):
midnight or one o'clock in the morning and there'd be
glitter on my floor. I'm like, how did that happen?
You know, you're kind of spaced out anyhow, after you've
been doing reading since six o'clock, you know, So so
I'm like, I come home, I start vacuuming the floor.
I'm sure my downstairs neighbors loved me, you know, and
dip the glitter still on the floor, and my, gosh,
I have this vacuum is not very good. And then
finally I realized, oh, this is the symbol. This is

(27:53):
the symbol. And so I sat for meditation right there
and then, and I'm like visually seeing this vision of
the lady in the blue dress, right, and j'ss this
sparkly lady in the blue dress. And so I didn't
know her name, so that's what I called her, lady
in the blue dress. And it didn't matter that I
didn't know her name. We had a great connection. We've

(28:14):
known each other long before, right, so don't get hung
up on the names. The names are for us. And
then many years later, I had a reading and someone
told me, oh, this is blue Star. I'm like, I
call her lady in the blue dress. So it's been
decades since that happened, but I would still, you know,
be able to call her lady in the blue dress,
and she's going to be right there for me, just

(28:35):
like that. So that's just a small story of how
you can connect in these small subtle ways. Where maybe
you're not even looking for it and it's right there
in front of you. Though. And I think just to
add one last point to to this is when you
get in that place and that kind of meditative space
or that soft space as you call it, ask for them,
call for them, right, I mean that's what. So it's

(28:57):
like you might be in a meditative space, but and
you're like, wait, I've been meditating for years and I
haven't I've never met my guide. Since we'll ask for them.
Even if you don't sit for meditation, ask for them
before you go to sleep, right, use your dreams because
the dream state is a very soft focused state, you know,
so lots is available there, so just ask for them
there too. That's a great way to do it. I

(29:17):
would like to meet my guide to day, and I
actually encourage people to just do one guide at a
time so you can go deeply and get very familiar
with the frequency and the vibration because that's super helpful.
So we want to thank all of our listeners for
