So, the Baltimore Ravens announced they are releasing veteran kicker
Justin Tucker. He's being investigated by the NFL for alleged
inappropriate behavior involving over a dozen massage therapists from eight
Baltimore area spats. Tucker has denied those allegations, but Ravens
GM did not mention like it did not reference the allegations,
(00:29):
and called it a football decision, saying, sometimes football decisions
are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances.
But we do know that Baltimore did select Arizona kicker
Tyler Loop in the last month's NFL draft.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
So in nine kid, by the way, hit a seventy
five yarder in practice and it was crazy.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
We had to make sure to hicks fair. Yeah that's crazy. Yeah. True.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Also, we're kind of continuing with the football news because
I know yesterday we talked about the NFL Draft coming
to Tanelis to reports of it, it was confirmed yesterday
the twenty twenty seven NFL Draft will be held in DC.
We have a little more information. So it's hosted in
partnership with the Commanders and Local Organizing Committee. The Local
Organizing Committee Events DC. The twenty twenty seven NFL Drafts
(01:16):
are going to take place across the district's most iconic landmark.
So yesterday we heard it was just a national mall.
It's also going to be like Pennsylvania Avenue, which is
really cool.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
And then over the.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Course of the three day event, DC will host a
variety of draft activities, So there's going to be a
bunch of community events. There's going to be the Draft
Concert Series, the NFL Draft Experience, which is like really
awesome free fan festival where you can like be really immersive.
You can challenge your skills. There's interactive games, You'll be
able to take a photo with a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
(01:46):
There's a youth focused play sixty zone. Obviously, you can
shop exclusive NFL merchandise. You can score autographs from current
and legends, which is really cool. And this is the
second time the NFL Draft will be held in DC,
the first since nineteen forty one. That's this, Yeah, just
to give me an idea of how big the draft is.
(02:07):
And more than six hundred thousand fans attend of the
draft this year on Green Bay, So it's eury.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
There's gonna be a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, and this is really cool. At Fairfax County teen
has been selected as the nation's top young Marine. Kingis
Bahatter was named National Young Marine of the Year during
a ceremony in Texas. And Bahatter is a junior at
Thomas Jefferson High School for Sciences Technology in Alexandria and
is a member of the DC based Potomac River Young Marines,
which I thought was really cool. Cool and even cooler.
(02:35):
When his family came to the US, he did not
speak English. He can now speak four languages. Wow, so
pretty impressive. Right there, I'm Rose. Those are the three
things you used to.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Know for the day. Thank you, Rose.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
You're welcome, Semi tanks A nine ninety three three eight
IJ you got your real ID right?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
That starts tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (02:52):
I yes, well Maryland. Nine nine percent of people in
Maryland have really I.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Am a passport, so I should be good to go.
But yes, I have my realidey even though it says
I'm five feet.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Tall, which is not change can actually I think change
it online? It's not even you are trying to copy me.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
It's fine, but like I feel.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Like it would be worth it, or I feel like
it is important because if you go, I don't know.
I feel like if I went to the airport and
they saw my height and it was the INKR, they'd
be like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I mean I have my I have the I they
check my ID, Honest, I do Clear Simon think, oh
yeah they checked my ID.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah that's weird. I just realized that.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Well clear, just like update their systems again because I
just went through it.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I mean they have everything else.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah, they it's like their face ideas like even better
now than it was before, is what I'm trying to say.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Hell yeah, real quick too. I thought this is interesting
for your Tuesday card and your survey. Over half of
gen Z millennials consider hobbies and interests necessity spending.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
In twenty twenty five, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Man, so they say in the In the midst of
the current cost of living crisis, credit karm I talked
with young consumers to see if they're spending habits of change.
They spoke over two thousand dollars eighteen over found when
it came to millennials and gen Z many quote non
essentials have become necessities.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, dude, right here for a long time. Here for
a good time.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Just like your hobbies, it's something that bring you joy,
and we're realizing, hey, we actually want to be like
full of happiness and joy instead.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Of just like going through the motions. Sorry.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Well yeah, I think to that point most of us realized,
like can I should I be saving for a house
that in this area? Okay, so you need like probably
close to a million dollars to get you want that
new house? Therebody talks about you need like a million
dollars probably, or I want to go on vacation.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, exactly, You're probably gonna go on vacation. Yeah, yeah,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
At this point, they say fifty six percent of gen
Z says spending money in hobbies and interests isn't a luxury,
it's necessity.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Huh. I would agree with that. I think so too.
Fifty nine percent millennials said the same.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, because I could also see, like pick a ball
could be a hobby or golf it's a hobby. I'm
saying like that could be like, yeah, there's something you
love to do, and it's like exercise, and yeah, it
makes sense. Fifty one percent millennials would rather reduce their
long term savings then give up lifestyle experiences like travel,
going out to eat.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
And fitness. Yeah. I guess that is.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
It's a case of future John's problem. Yeah, I mean
John right now.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
He's cool.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
No, literally, Yeah, if I if I had some drinks
right now, future John's got a hangover, not me right now. Yeah,
Like future John's gotta do the laundry at home, not me.
That's not a meat problem, that's a future John problem.
Forty gen Z said the same. According to the experts,
heightened emotions can drive us to spend money, whether it's
as a distraction, to have something to look forward to,
(05:35):
or a way to spark joy during his stressful times.
I think that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
She has said.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Since the last few years of had high cost of living,
it's possible younger generations have accepted this as a new
reality and adjusted their budgets.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Accordingly, we done been except yeah, this has been for
a minute. Yeah, everybody's like save up for house and
like with what.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, and again in this area, legitimately, like I I
somehow like on Instagram, it will show me like the
realitors in the area, and it'll be like a shack. Yeah,
but it's in Bethesda, and this person's trying to convince
me this shack and Bethesday is one point seven million
dollars And the comments are always like, where's the rest
of the house, and it's like, no, it's a two bedroom.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Yeah, pardon, but even like, if I want an apartment
like mine, I want to buy it where I live,
it would be cost me more with a mortgage payment.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Oh yeah, yeah right now. So I'm just like, you
know what this is?
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Five yeah, no doubt, no doubts if you have thoughts.
Always up for text nine ninety three three eight. The
voting ends Friday. By the way, Baltimore's Son's Best of Baltimore? Now,
would it be funny if I the Minnesota Boy beat
the Baltimore Girl for Best of Baltimore? Answers, No, it
wouldn't be funny for me. It would make my life miserable.
