The FIFTH best War of the Roses featured Lauren and Michael who have been dating for a little over three months and even though Lauren travels for work, she does try to prioritize seeing Michael whenever she is home. Lauren thought things were going well, but for the past few weeks she has noticed that Michael is overcommunicating a little too much about what he’s doing as if he is trying to cover for something. At the same time, Lauren noticed the weekend after Valentine’s Day that Michael had a box of expensive candy in his garbage that weren’t for her. When she asked Michael about them he said they were for his mom, but Lauren is pretty sure Michael is hiding something. Find out what‘s really going on in this War of the Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:04):
War of the Roses on intern John, and you're more
in sell. You're dating somebody. Could be four one hundred years,
could be four one hundred seconds. It doesn't matter to us.
But you think something's up, something's kind of cross your mind.
Instead of wondering what's going on, you want to rip
the band aid. That's why we do War of the Roses. Lauren, Hello, Hi,
how are you? I'm doing great? Thank you? So walk

(00:26):
me through this. You and Michael have been together for
how long?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
We've been together for about three months?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
So okay? And I do think it's worth noting you
travel for work often.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Right, Yes, I'm gone a lot. We do try to
spend as much time as we can together, but I'm
gone a lot.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
It is what it is.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
So cause three months a decent chunk of change. But like,
what do you think that equates to, like, how much
time have you guys spent like together three months? Maybe
spent like a month, you know, a comparatively a month
relationship actually with each other?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, I'd say about half the time, maybe like a
month and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Got it? And then do you guys like because it's
kind of like a long disiness not do you guys
talk on the phone a lot. Do you FaceTime?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
We do both. We talk on the phone a lot.
We text more than anything. Probably We try to FaceTime
everything that I'm gone, you know, at least once a day,
not necessarily at night, but we try and at least
see each other check in.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, yeah, okay, So why are we doing more of
the roses? What's happening?

Speaker 4 (01:28):
So?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I've noticed some changes in his behavior. First, like I've
you know, over the last few weeks or so, especially
I've been travelling a lot, as I always do, and
he's been almost overly communicative about what he's doing when
I'm away, like where he's at, you know, which is respectful,

(01:49):
but it's too much.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
How's like? How's like?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
How?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
So give us an example of what would be.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Okay? So, like the other day, he had to go
to his parents' house in the morning, so he let
me know that he was headed over there, and then,
like I don't know, an hour or so later, he
messaged me and said, okay, headed to the grocery store
now and gass.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Too much, almost like he's given you like a breadcrumbs
of like what he's doing. So he has an alibi
if it is nice, it is needed.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
So like that was my first kind of just you know, observation,
if you will. And then so I happened to be
gone over Valentine's Week and I got back on Friday,
and I noticed that there was this might be a
petty of me, but I noticed that there was a

(02:47):
box of pretty expensive chocolate in the garbage.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Okay, and they worked for me.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I did get them for him, So, like, where did
these chocolates come from? Right? She said that they were
from or for his mom, that he had gotten them
from his mom, and and you know, but the box
ended up in our garbage.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Like it's okay.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, if you met his mom and you guys are
kind of like newish dating.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I met her once, we went out to dinner.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Okay, yeah, that's okay, So let's let's do this.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Then.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, there's a lot done process, unprocessed process. There we go, Lauren,
We're gonna have sauce. Call Michael. All from became a
dozen red roses obviously should go to you. If they don't, though,
we'll get some information for you.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
Okay, awesome, thank you guys, I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, of course. One of the Roses an intern John
your morning show for the Roses on intern John in
your morning show, Lauren, let me recap this. You and
Michael have been dating for a couple of months. You
do a lot of traveling for work, and because of that,
you guys have to talk, you know, on the phone
a lot and communicate that way. A couple of things
made you think something might be up. The first which
it's it's sad that this would be a flag, but

(04:04):
he started being very like overly communicating where he's going
to be, almost like he was giving you minute by
minute where he's gonna be and why he wouldn't be
able to get to his phone. Is that yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's a good point. That's that's fair, Lauren. Is not
like it's almost like he was building albis If this

(04:24):
is bad, yep.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
And then you found a box of chocolate in his
trash can. This is over Valentine's week, but he said
involved his mother, was not anything else right.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
The other question I had, which I think is always
a huge tell for me, is that when dudes start
dating somebody, they always want to bring her around their
friends sooner rather than later, because once your friends get
the seal approval, they'll get off your back about having
a girlfriend, Like that's just kind of like guy guy
rule if you will. Have you met his friends, Lauren?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
No, No, I mean I really happen in like TV fair.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I know you travel a lot, so like you know,
the time you guys are in the same area is
probably more valuable. So that could be Why has he
avoided or is it just like we this hasn't even
come up as a possibility.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I would say more it just kind of like hasn't
come up. I haven't really asked to meet his friends,
I mean because it is still so new and we
do see each other so often. We just like to
spend time with each other.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Sure, has he do you know any of his friend's names?
Like do you know, like, oh, his best friend is
you know, Kyle or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
He has mentioned he's got a really good friend Steve
that he talks about a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Okay, Okay, that's fair, so at least you know a
little bit about Okay, let's let's do this saucle call
from the flower company off from a free bocave, A
dozen red roses. They should go to you. Obviously, here
we are a post Valentine's say, if they go to
somebody else, we'll get some info for you.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Okay, okay, thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
My friend asked you did he get you in there?
Valentine's say, because I think that's also important. Did you
get like a flowers or a card or anything like that?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well, so where I was saying he couldn't send anything
that day, it was a hotel and that can be
really checky. But I did come home to my own
box of chocolates and a really nice card and he
took me awesome.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Okay, okay, all right, So to make sure I hear
we got me? Sure I get this working right?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Is this Michael? Yeah, Hey, this is Bree.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I'm actually calling you from a new local flower shop.
We're called YMS Flowers, and we're doing some marketing where
we're offering a free bouquet of a dozen red roses.
Is that something you'd be interested in.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
A flower shop? You're calling me to offer me roses?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
No, So we're just like trying to get our product
in houses, especially after you know, Valentine's Day and the
holiday season. We thought we'd do a little bit better
since we are new to the area. We just want
our product in homes, offices, wherever, so that hopefully you
come back to us and start using us.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Just you know, if I have to give you any
personal information, that's not interested.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
No, I don't need any personal information. I just need
to know where they would be going. I don't need
your credit card. You just like you're on our list
and you'd be supporting a local business. Just we're trying
to get our foot in the door, if you will,
just like with the community. And they're beautiful, they're romantic
red roses.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
But it's free though.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
I'm just I'm on your list, like that one flower
that I don't have to say for anything or anything
like that.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I mean, that's how we want to look at it.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Like you, Yeah, you're on the list and you're winning
flowers and you can send them to whoever you want
anywhere in the country.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I'll support a local business. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
My mom would be so happy.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Okay, So all I'm gonna need from you is a
name where they're going.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I'll tell them to my homegirl.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Okay, so she's your homegirl.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
These are romantic, they're they're beautiful, but like they're not
something said like your sister, your your best girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
I get it. I get it. She's dope, man, she's dope.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
And yeah, okay, so how long? Like so you're not dating?
So it's like these are romantics. So I was gonna
see like you know.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
I mean, she's a homegirl. They come like a card
or something.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Yeah, so the card like think something like like the
Twitter characteristics like there's it can't be too long.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
But what do you want to want to say?

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Let's do let's do I love you in Spanish? I
love you, and I love you?

Speaker 6 (09:00):
And like, let's do I love you in French and
one morel language? But I don't, I mean, you have
any ideas for the last language?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I feel like would look better.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
So you want to say I love you in three
different languages? Is what you're saying.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
I probably be like, I don't know Australian for the
third one.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
You know, like a little that's cool, that's cool.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
And how do you want to sign it?

Speaker 6 (09:27):
So I was saying I love you in every language
known to man and unknown?

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Michael, are you seriously cool?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Hold on?

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Hold on, oh Michael, my name is intern John. I
got sauce and Rose here as your girlfriend, Lauren, we're
doing more of the roses for the show. I have
a separate question asked, but Lauren, who is April?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Why this bitch is there twice a week? Because you
really needs their house clean twice a week? But oh,
clearly now I am understand wise.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Wait, okay, so Lauren Michael has a clean lay day.
April who's there twice a week?

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yeah? Yeah, and now he's done her flowers?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Is the place? Is the place clean?

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I mean not as clean as you would think a week?

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Well? And he loves her in every language known and unknown. Michael,
your thoughts on this? Are you in April? What's going on?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
No, it's not like that, man, it's like that. That's
my home girl. Man, she's good people. I mean I
love for her, I love for me. It's not it's
not anything like she's making a seam. It's not.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Okay, okay, what here's let me ask you this. What
do you think Lauren's making it seem like? And how
is it actually?

Speaker 6 (10:46):
I feel like Lauren making it seem like like this
is my girlfriend. You know, she's talked to Lauren the
most like April, that's my homegirl. Ma I say he
twice a week, good people, And that's really.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
You know, it was twice a week. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
How messy is your place that you need? And how
big is it they need? Twice a week?

Speaker 5 (11:03):
Literally?

Speaker 3 (11:04):
My god, bro, I don't like cleaning. She clean that.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
But how are you?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Brother?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Oh you're trying to make it seem like something. It's
not too late. I talked to the three Flower Company.
Now y'all are ganging up on me. No, that's not
that's not what this is.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Okay, but why would you send romantic flowers to somebody
who's essentially an employee of yours? Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Appreciation. It's just me appreciating. You know, she's helping me out, Like,
that's all it is. Why you trying to make it
seem like it's more than what it is?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Michael, you haven't even told me that you love me?

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Oh okay, oh okay, I'll say it.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
I love you, but you know that I know that.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
I start with saying bro, and then I you know
that already, god man.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah, so you're gonna tell me how to say how
to see I love you? Like? Yeah, it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Also, also, he also they speak English in Australia.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, I mean, how would I know that I've never
been austerio? Okay, one of the roseses creticked and possibly
