Speaker 1 (00:01):
Morning Run with Amy and TJ and iHeartRadio Podcast. Good
morning everyone, thanks for joining us for today's Morning Run.
It's Wednesday, July thirtieth. I'm Amy Robot and I'm TJ Holmes.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
A reminder, folks, do it now on your phone. Look
at it Apple Podcast app top right corner, little tad
that says follow there on top of our show. Just
click that and you can have all of our content
come to you whenever. And it seems like a lot
has been happening. We've been putting out more episodes than
we anticipated, with a lot of news Diddy, some relationships stuff,

(00:33):
all kinds of stuff, so breaking news.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Where are your place, where your source? We will curate
it all.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, check all that out. But it's very very easy
to do if you just click follow. Also this morning
on the Morning Run, I have a question for women.
First of all, ropes, how many products, beauty products of
any kind do you have right now? In the refrigerator?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
I have Igel masks in the refrigerator.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
That's all I have.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Okay, what's the thing that I see in the freezer
down there? Looks like little pad with little beads's white.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Oh, that's the little ice pack. So yeah, if like
your eyes are puffing, ah, you can put it's like
a little eye pack for your eyes. That's in the freezer.
The ie Gel patches are in the refrigerator.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Apparently it's a thing. It's a thing people like to
keep their products in the refrigerator. And now, ladies, you're
gonna have some competition from the fellas. We have a
new product that they are making for us to be
kept in the refrigerator, and it's being made by a
beer company. But it does have to do with our hygiene.
We'll get into that. Also a record, we didn't watch

(01:40):
this particular movie over the weekend, but a sequel we
have all been waiting thirty years for finally came out
and Robes. It didn't just come out, it's set an
all time record on Netflix over the weekend. We appear
to be the only ones who didn't watch it.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
We can check it out maybe in between our podcasts. Yeah,
all right. Also on the run this morning is tsunami
has been issued for Hawaii after one of the largest
earthquakes ever recorded in history struck off the coast of Russia.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Also this morning, Glenn Maxwell wants to talk but with conditions. Also,
did he ask again to get out of jail with
a lot of conditions.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
We also have more chilling details this morning surrounding that
mass shooting at a midtown Manhattan high rise, and police
in Arkansas have released a photo and a sketch of
the person of interest in that double homicide of those
that couple hiking with their two daughters. The FBI is
also joining that intense manhunt.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Also, the big question today will the FED cut interest rates? Well,
brace yourselves. President Trump is going to be disappointed, which
means we are probably gonna get a pretty fiery truth
social post later. Plash out, mister Powell.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Think he's going to be active today, all right, but
we do begin our run this morning. Halfway around the world,
one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded happened yesterday, and
it triggered tsunami warnings over in Hawaii and along the
West Coast.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
It was located off the coast of Russia, but it
sent waves rippling across the Pacific. It was measured as
an eight point eight magnitude quake, which would make it
one of the strongest ever recorded on Earth. They sent
some two million people under evacuation orders in Japan.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
In Hawaii, roads were jammed, lines were long at gas stations,
people were heating those warnings to get away from the
coastal areas. Last night, all flights into and out of
Maui were canceled. Waves attributed to that quake started arriving
last night, some recorded as high as six feet, but
in the governor's words, they have not seen a wave
of consequence as of this.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Recording, but they told residents that they don't have the
all clear just yet. There are no deaths or major
damage to report right now. Airlines are expected to resume
operations this morning, but it's very very important those waves
that are coming. I know, we hear tsunami and we
think one thing from well, I'm thinking about fifteen years ago,
write that man, Thailand Way, even Thailand. We think that.

(04:03):
But this is still dangerous. Six foot wave you see,
they look almost tranquil when you see them coming ashore,
but if you try to get out there in the
water or you're too close to the short can flood.
So it is dangerous. And they don't have the all
clear as of this recording.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
All right. Next up on the Run, Jeffrey Epstein accomplice
and convicted sex trafficker Glaine Maxwell has agreed to testify
before Congress, but with a long list of conditions.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, she's been subpoena to testify next month, and her
attorneys sent a letter to Congress Tuesday stating then, while
their client initially decided to invoke her Fifth Amendment rights,
she is now willing to cooperate with Congress if a
fair and safe path forward can be established. Their words,
her attorney said, as they appeal her conviction to the

(04:49):
Supreme Court, any testimony she provides could compromise her case.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
And so here is what they are asking for. First,
they want formal immunity. Next, they want the interview to
not happen at the correctional facility where she is serving
her sentence. They also want the committee's questions in advance.
Good luck with that one. And they want the interview
to be scheduled after the resolution of for Supreme Court petition.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Okay, what they had one other hail Mary to pitch,
they said, and I quote in the alternative, if miss
Maxwell were to receive clemency, she would be willing and eager,
I bet to testify openly and honestly in public before
Congress in Washington, d C. She welcomes the opportunity to
share the truth and dispel the many misconceptions and misstatements

(05:35):
that have plagued this case from the beginning end quote,
holy hell, you get me out of jail, I'll tell
you anything.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
You want, right and specifically referencing misconceptions and misstatements. That's
going to peak the interest of everyone.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
There are a lot of people, I know, she said,
she discussed one hundred names with the Department of Justice.
But how many people are going to be sweating or
currently sweating?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Currently sweating? I would say almost one hundred people.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
The most anticipated congressional hearing I can remember, and there've
been a lot lately. This would be unreal, would be?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Is the case?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Though? Yeah? Good point. President Trupe has that he is
allowed to pardon Maxwell, But then no one has asked
him just yet.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
That kind of seemed like a little bit of an
ask right there by her attorneys. I'm sure there'll be
a more formal request coming soon. An Overside Committee spokesman
flat out rejected the idea of giving Maxwell immunity, saying
this quote, The Oversight Committee will respond to Miss Maxwell's
attorney soon, but it will not consider granting congressional immunity
for her testimony.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Love that.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah, I mean they put it pretty plainly right there.
Her attorney said, if the committee cannot meet Maxwell's demands,
she will have no choice but to invoke her Fifth
Amendment rights.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
What a show? Now, all right, we'll continue on the
run now with Diddy, and he figured, hey, it's worth
another shot, and yesterday formally pleaded with the judge once
again to let him go home. Shawn Combs is asking
the judge to let him out of the notorious MDC
jail in Brooklyn, where he's been held since his arrest
last September.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, his Miami home would be so much nicer, and
that's where he's asking the judge to allow him to
live until his sentencing in October. The judge has denied
bail for Combs several times since his arrest, and during
the trial. He also denied bail on the day Diddy
was convicted of two of the five counts against him.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, despite being found not guilty on the most serious charges,
the judge at that time said he still was not
convinced that Combs was not a threat to the community
or to certain individuals. Colmbs lawyers made the argument that
Ditty is being treated differently than others convicted of the
same things he's now been convicted of.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
In their words, Shawn Combs should not be in jail
for this conduct. In fact, he may be the only
person currently in a United States jail for being any
sort of john and certainly the only person in jail
for hiring adult male escorts for him and his girlfriend
when he did not even have sex with the escort himself.
Did he offer to put up a fifty million dollar

(08:05):
bond have three people as Garan tours and says he
will give up his passport.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
It's kind of some of the same stuff he's offered
up before. The judge said no. They added this line
we read it yesterday said he's willing to do anything
you want to add to this list. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
We actually have a whole podcast on it if you
want to check it out on our feed where we
go through his entire It was a twelve page formal
document and it was fascinating, so we get into all
the details if you have any interests.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
It is actually the episode right before this morning, is
it not so? Yes, just click one back and it's
right there and it is fascinating. We continue on the
run now with police here in New York say he
took the wrong elevator. Yes, police say the gunman who
killed four people at a midtown Manhattan high rise on
Monday was in fact targeting the offices of the National
Football League, but he got into the wrong elevator. Bank.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
The suspect, Shane Timora, walked into the Park Avenue building
and immediately sprayed the lobby with gunfire, and after killing
three people there in the lobby, he then went to
the elevator, which was headed to the thirty third floor,
where he killed another person.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, the elevator, though where he ended up in was
not the right one to take if you were trying
to get to the NFL offices. Police said. Tomorrow had
a note on him suggesting he took issue with the
league for its handling of players and brain injuries. He
also asked that his brain be studied and claimed he
had CTE, the degenerative brain condition associated with repeated head injuries.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
So Tomorrow did take his own life there on the
thirty third floor, but he reportedly shot himself in the
chest and some people are pointing to that as deliberate
foresight to preserve his brain for this study he's asked for.
He did have a mental health history that included two
mental health holds in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty four.
A hold is when people can be held when they're

(09:57):
thought to be a threat either to themselves or to
the community. That's wild that he had that and was
still allowed to purchase a firearm legally in Nevada.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
All these things go up to seventy two hours that
you can be held against your will. That there if
you're seen to be a threat. But he also worked
a casino.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
But how would that not security, How would that not
be yes used against him in acquiring a gun. I
don't understand. But yes, he drove from Las Vegas, where
he lived, to New York last weekend more than two
thousand miles and the NYPD has now sent an investigator
to Vegas.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
And something we talked about ropes we couldn't understand. He
shot up in the lobby. People were running, people were
behind desks and things like that in the tables in
the lobby. Then he went to the elevator. A woman
was in the elevator, walked right past her, didn't bother,
didn't disturb her, could have done anything right there, and
he did not like.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Why been strange.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
The mayor talked about that. He said he saw that
video and he called it eerie. He said, why he
just shot he said, he said, he just shot.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Somebody indiscriminately too.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
And a woman right there in front of him just
let her pass and walked into the elevator. So just
eerie to see that part of the area. We had
to Arkansas now for the next leg of this run,
and police there have released a photo talking about eerie roades,
a photo and a sketch of the person of interest
in the double homicide of a married couple hiking with
their two young daughters over the weekend. They also believe

(11:19):
the suspect was injured while attacking Clinton and Kristen Brink,
but did not say how or why they believe he
was injured.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, and that photo really is eerie. I mean, there's
no other word to describe it. If you haven't seen it,
you should check it out. It's all over online. But
it shows a man standing with his back turned towards
the camera. So someone probably inadvertently captured him and was
able to zoom in on him. He's like, looking over,
it looks like either a creek or a ravine or something.
But the man standing there is the exact description police

(11:51):
have released of what he was wearing and carrying. He
had dark pants, dark jacket, a black backpack it almost
was like a loose Duffel backpack, and a dark base.
Then they also released this sketch of the suspect's face,
so police are asking the public please take a close
look at both the sketch and the photo to try
and help identify who this guy is.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
The photo is wild because he's still faceless. They're still mystery.
I'm sorry we were such horror movie buffs, but this
is such a technique used in horror movies where you
can kind of see the silhouette or you can see
the person, but you can't make out the face. And
I'm telling you, I saw it and it creaked me
out to see. Who knows They say a purse of interest. Yes,

(12:31):
he fits the description.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
He does fit the description.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
He fits it perfectly. The FBI has joined stay policing
the manhunt for the suspect and say they are working
around the clock trying to protect the public and all
the hiking trails at Devil's Den State Park. Our clothes
will remain closed as this search continues.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
All right. Next up on the run, the Federal Reserve
will announce its decision whether it will cut interest rates today,
and despite massive aggressive public pressure from President Trump, it
is expected that Fed Chair Jerome Powell will leave interest
rates unchanged. Raise yourselves, Oh.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Foul, you know what's coming. It's gonna be a rough
day for him. But you know what, he's been holding
his own. He is very, very chill. He has said,
get this. You know, a resident didn't like this either.
He said the Fed might have already cut rates if
Trump hadn't begun his massive terror policy. So a look
at the numbers, though, We'll tell you that the economy
is in decent shape, Unemployment relatively low, stocks at all

(13:26):
time highs. There are concerns about inflation in recent months
with those Trump tariffs.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
All Right, In recent weeks, Trump has backed away from
his earlier rants about wanting to fire Powell. Wait for
those to resume, but he said over and over that
cutting rates would boost the US economy, and so he
wants uh he wants Powell to do it immediately. We're
gonna wait and see how Trump reacts today's rate announcement,
but I think we all kind of know what's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
All Right, We'll stay with us, folks, as we continue
on this run. In just a moment, did you watch
that sequel that we've been waiting thirty years for on Netflix?
Over the weekend? It seemed like damn near everybody did,
and a new record has been set. Also, do you
really want your armpits as cold as the Rockies? All right, folks,

(14:21):
let's continue on this Wednesday morning run now with Happy
Gilmore two. It had a big weekend. In fact, it
was the biggest weekend ever. The Adam Sandler sequel set
a viewership record in its debut weekend on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
The movie was released last Friday. I'm sure it hit
number one on Netflix list of most watched movies, but
it generated forty six point seven million views over the weekend,
which makes it the biggest opening for a film on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Ever, I'm still we're all still getting our heads around
how to what that means forty six point seven million views.
We know when a movie makes a lot of money
at a box office. We still haven't figured out what's
the success.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yes, I have right, No, I don't know either.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
But they're telling out this is a big deal. The
movie is a sequel. We've been waiting thirty years for this.
When the original came out in nineteen ninety six, I
didn't realize it was helped alone. It has a lot
of cameos in there, but a lot of people who
are in there have some of the biggest social media
following Smart Planet Earth Smart, including Bad Bunny, who has

(15:23):
a role in there. Post Malone has a role in there,
Golfer Rory McElroy has a role in there. Travis Kelsey
has a role in there, who just happens to be
dating Miss Taylor Swift, who supports and endorses the movie
on her social media.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
That probably had something to do with those streams.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I didn't put all that toge. I mean happy to
go more too.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Who needs a publicist when you have good friends like them?
All right? For the final leg of our run, Hey honey,
can you grab me another beer? It should be right
next to my tiodorant sounds weird?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Can you make like it?

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Just?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Can you make sense of that? If you listen, like,
wait a minute, is that Wait the.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Beer is so gross?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Bathroom or the deodorant isn't?

Speaker 1 (16:04):
I don't want anything that's under anyone's arms in my refrigerator.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Oh like, y'all don't do something. There is stuff. But
the company behind Cores Like is hoping you want your
pits as cold as your beers, and they have introduced
Dura Chill.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
It is a cold activated deodorant that's supposed to be kept, yes,
in the refrigerator. It has the rocky mountains on the
front which turn blue when the deodorant is cold and
ready to be applied, just like the cours Light cans
have the rocky mountains on the front that turn blue
when the beer is cold and ready to drink.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yes, these sticks are available starting today on the Core's website,
not in stores. They cost fourteen ninety nine. That's pricey
for deodorant?

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Is it in New York City?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Probably? Not?

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Tween? Ready to be twenty five?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Okay if the calls forty nine nine, you do have
to be twenty one to purchase them. But that there's
no alcohol in the APPA, right, you have to be
twenty one? I think? Just to go on their website
to be twenty one. I assume I haven't pruised the
course my website. The scent rocky Mountain breeze. Now that
doesn't sound bad.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
That sounds good.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Okay, So why does anybody think we need deordorant to
be kept in the fridge?

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Well, okay, So cors Light teamed up with Dura Dry.
That's a company that makes anti sweat products, and they
say they were inspired by the viral trend of US
women chilling our beauty and skincare products.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Is it just a trend? I thought some of the
stuff is supposed is it not?

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Oh no, it well they sometimes it just says it
works better. There might be something that have to be
an the refrigerator, but I think most of it is
like the eye patches and stuff. There's a cooling effect
that makes your skin.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Wait second, back up to the eye patches. Are they
the gels? Right? I use those before? Are they not
made specifically and you're told they're to be kept or
this is just something women's photograph?

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Some of them are to be kept, and then some
people just put all of them in.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
What's the roller thing that stone things?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yeah, you put that in the freezer. Yeah, it's just
it's like a lymphatic drainage kind of rolling thing where
it makes it deep puffs your face.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
But it needs to be cold, yes to work.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, yes, yes, here's the quote. Core's Light is all
about helping people choose chill, and this summer we wanted
to take that to the next level, starting with your armpits.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
What so ridiculous and hilarious hurs. This is just it's funny.
It's fun. Not going to order it, but I bet
it smells kind of nice.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I like the Rocky Mountain fresh.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I like it all right, before we let you go here,
something we would like for you to consider as you
go about your day. It is our quote of the day.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
More is lost by indecision than a wrong decision, don't
you agree.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Well, we're always worried about getting it.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Right, but limbo is the worst place to be.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
But there's a bad decision better than no decision. Maybe
if I just would have left it alone.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
No, this is according to Marcus Tullius Cicero Cicero Cicero. Yeah,
you're right, I can't Marcus Cicero. There we go. He
was born in one hundred and six b c So
I'm just saying they even knew that in ancient Roman times,
you need to make a damn decision. I fully support this.

(19:10):
I liked it. It spoke to me because, honestly, that
is for me, limbo not knowing, being stuck, that's for
me one of the worst. It creates so much anxiety.
I'd rather just make a decision and if it's the
wrong decision, at least I learned something. And if it's
the right decision, yay me.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Okay, Well good luck with that, folks. I hope you
don't have any life changing decisions to make today following
this advice.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Well no, but that's more, I think this is the
perfect quote for you. Then, if you're in that situation,
more is lost by indecision than a wrong decision. Thank you, Marcus. Yes,
Tulia Cicero.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I'm gonna keep this in minds. I crossed the streets
of Manhattan today, A crosswalks it is danger. Should I go?
I should I not? Can I make it? You know what?
I just need to make a decision.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah. There's a little white man who tells you whether
or not you can go, and a little red man
who tells you when you cannot.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Okay, said a little white man. Immediately the cross, I
thought I was in trouble, So take that with you.
More lost by indecision than a wrong decision. We are
going to make the decision to end this morning run
right now. So with that, I'm.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Teaching, and I made me robot. Have a great hump day, everybody,
