Speaker 1 (00:00):
They want to get with Snoop Doggie, let me let
you know.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
What you going through with what you said.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
The energy from Snoop Dogg was really the mother. I
ain't gonna do no capping. Snoop Dogg didn't make his
way across the stage and shake no hands. Snoop Dogg
didn't say what's up to nobody. Snoop Dogg didn't man.
He came right in, performed them mother dropped the beat
out halfway through through his middle fingers up, said what
(00:29):
you're going through? What you standing for, and got off
the stage. He never said what's uping just wanted you
guys to take note that I'm saying versus is much
more than just song versus song. There's details, There's specifics
that you must pay attention to to pull this off.
If we're being honest, we're looking at the first opportunity
(00:50):
cash money had, which was because you're working from a deficit.
If you cash money, you're already in a scenario where
you're not having a little Wayne. Now you know, people
think ain't gonna be there. You're not having Turk there.
People may not as cass much about Turk as they
do Wayne. But if y'all would have had Wayne. It
adds a different element to this whole versus. But knowing
(01:11):
you don't have Wayne, now we have to take all
of our star power and try to utilize it in
a way where we get the Wayne effect. And I
think pushing out with Juvie at the beginning. If you're
asking me, what's the first opportunity they missed?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
But we lost a lot of soldiers. But cash money
ain't built. Dog, you leave, you can't. We're gonna still multiply.
Let's go. Cash money ain't gonna never die.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Lord as I'm alive, holdlad fresh waynfresh, Lord, as I'm alive.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Cash money ain't gonna never die. Shout out to my NB.
Ain't young boy Nba ain't risking. I don't like it.
Hur with all of bullshit. If he ain't with us,
peet where you at?
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Broh?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
He wrapped up in the Yian energy they got. Aren't
God that talking crazy they got? Hey they got, aren't
wrapped up in that Wyian energy going in and out.
D cit Is on tour with Young Boy. He done
jumped on Apple Music. If you ain't with us, he
done went left field and you're welcome back to It's

(03:29):
I hope y'all been enjoying the content. I'm back doing
this solo thing again. I gotta get in the swing
of it right now. I'm just kind of warming up,
trying to feel my way back around, and so there's
a warming up process that you may bear witness to
in real time. Ask that you lend me some understanding.
The coach is in a great place last night, just
(03:52):
to timestamp this so we understand when things are being
recorded versus when they're being released. Again, I'm just getting
back in to the scenario where I want to get
in here and really speak to y'all and have some
conversations with the culture and kind of act as a
stop sign, a thinking place, a think tank, you know,
where we can sit down and really divide the power
(04:12):
if I'm being one hundred percent honest with y'all, and
it really just depends on how I feel as we
get through this versus conversation. But if I want to
be honest with y'all right now, of course I want
to talk about this versus thing cash money, no limit.
That's for me, you know, such an instrumental part of
my childhood and coming up in this game and having
any faithor that black men that look like us can
(04:34):
go and be me nails by way of music and
be executives by way of music, be executives with a
period behind that. This what gave me some of that
understanding some of the runs these gentlemen went on. But
we'll get into that because I think versus. While I
have a good relationship with them and a lot of
people that work for verses, I still don't want to
(04:55):
be misunderstood. I think some things happen at their versus
that we're going to talk about here today that hopefully
someone can show them this video and bring it to
their attention that you know, there's people in the South
that feel a certain way about a couple of things,
and also, you know, thank you for shining the light
on the South. But we're gonna have that conversation here
in a minute. But of course I want to talk
about versus a couple other things that I have on
(05:17):
the docket that I may or may not get to,
just depend on how I'm feeling and if I want
to go down some of these rabbit holes and whether
or not I believe you guys even be interested in it,
and you can let me know in the comments moving forward,
if these topics are things that because these are the
things that I'm interested in some of these things and
also some of the things that have my attention, and
(05:39):
so it just depends on how I feel if I
get to these topics. One was the young lady from
TikTok who was a teacher for being fired. She made
some inappropriate remarks as it pertains to the children as
well as creating content on the job. So that's one
of the things, and I want to kind of play
what she said how she felt put some context around that.
(06:01):
The other one is the door dash situation the young
lady who delivered to a door dash driver. It was
instructed to be a contactless delivery, meaning you leave it
somewhere on the porch, you just get out of homes
way you drop it and get out of homes the
way the young lady pulls up to this gentleman's home,
she alleges that the door was open. He was in
(06:23):
plane view with the hammerhead shaw gout and so then
she go ahead and put him on video and quote
unquote dos is him to the end andnet because she
says this experience with sexual assault and so there's a
melee online. I mean there's a sea of people having
conversations surrounding this, and there's a lot of ideas I
(06:44):
have that we may iron out, just kind of letting
y'all know what my brain is as of today as
it pertains to the show. You know, if you're asking me, man,
it's just one of the best places that the culture has,
you know, one of the more pure spots still as
the reach we have that still has the level of
integrity that we have to make the money we do,
(07:05):
that can make the phone calls we can you know,
I don't think it should be understated what we can do,
also what we're willing to do and how far we're
willing to go, because I truly believe and know I'm
a warrior spirit and so I'm not gonna be the
one to lay down just for the sake of being comfortable.
That will be signs that I'm at war in the
(07:27):
event that a war pops all. I want to start
with the verses for people who do not know. Over
the weekend to no Limit Verse cash money Versus took place.
For people who may be unawell, may have forgotten what
versus is. It's a platform that creates an environment where
you take twenty songs and you go song for song
(07:49):
in somewhat of a rap battle. It's not just about
the songs. It's about the placement, the arrangement. It's about
the outfit. It's about the atmosphere, the stage presence. It's
more than just about the music. Because it was just
clearly about music, it would have no excitement wrapped around it.
People would already have a preconceived which a lot of
(08:10):
people did even in this one. But a lot of
people will approach it with a certain mindset that won't
allow you to understand the different factors and elements that
take place. That makes this a scenario that can either
help but her the artists or label in this scenario,
we grew up off cash money. We grew up off
no limit. That's the reason why we had a hustle
(08:31):
we have in the South. We saw them go against
the entire industry. And so whatever I say, as it
pertains the pe or baby or cash money or no limit,
mine is out of love. And it's always out of love,
because what happens is they I watched them boys hustle.
They lit some up in the South. I always tell
(08:53):
y'all all you got to do as a great man
is leave footprints in the saying the other great men
will head that way and they'll find no footprints. Them
dudes left real big feet in the sand. Over the years,
there's been allegations of some of the elements that keeps
these gentlemen from working with one another. New Orleans is
a small place. It was a dangerous place for a
(09:14):
long time. And these two gentlemen the rolls from the dog,
rolls from the concrete and made something happen. And so
we salute them in the South and again they ignited something.
And some of the young boys, like myself, just seeing
them create their business model and executed. I always tell
you I run into a lot with a bunch of ideas.
(09:38):
I don't run any minute that don't executed. And that's
why I tell people wash their mouth when they're talking
to me. You dealing with the executor. I had an
executed idea. Several of them ain't got a lot more
work to do, But I respect executors. When you see
me in the building with the executor, I'm gonna start
being quiet and listening. This is somebody that doesn't executed,
(09:58):
not just know something. See sometime you'll get in front
of me because you know this, that and the third.
It don't move me. And although I respect your knowledge,
you will see some pushback from me as it pertains
the conversation because I'm saying, Yo, I'm dealing with execution.
I don't care nothing about who know what. It don't
do me no good. You know how to make a
(10:20):
good macaroni, and I ain't never had none of it.
You know the ingredients to make a hell of a
chest pine. Ain't nobody never tasted it. Your own family,
your loved ones, your people. You don't know nothing about nothing,
but you know all the ingredients and all the recipes,
but you ain't never put none on. Nobody play. Y'all
can miss me with that. And so I have love
(10:40):
and respect for the executors in the game. There's several
that run around and so cash Money and Baby No
Limited master p. These dudes was executors from the South.
We had a certain level of reverence for them and
still do to this day. We won't even get in
the why they didn't work together all those years. We'll
leave that off the table. We want to have a
productive conversation. And there's so much more to talk about
(11:03):
surrounding his versus number one. Coming into the verses, there
was a conversation surrounding who would be there, what errors
would they pull from, Because see cash Money has errors
on top of errors in it becomes unfast they get
to pull Drake Nicki, Wayne, I'll let in, it becomes
a mismatch. And I say that respectfully to Pete and
(11:23):
the game he put down. It was elite game, but
I understood that it becomes unfair if I'm able to
pull Drake Nicki in all of that. That's one, but two.
I also knew you wouldn't see Drake and Nicki and
I had a bet that you wouldn't see Wayne, and
it ain't because of Turk and salute the Turk. Turk
going through what he's going through with Cash Money. Man,
(11:45):
they'll figure it out, hopefully, get all that together. Wayne
didn't miss the versus because Turk didn't show up. Wayne
missed the versus because he's been negotiating with versus for
a long time. Now it's a bag on the table.
If I show up now, I lend my likeness, my
voice and everything to this in a capacity where I
won't maximize the value of it, and so Wayne isn't
(12:07):
showing up, not because of Turk and maybe they can
frame it that way, but it's business on the reason
why you won't see little Wayne Drake or Nikki. Imagine
Drake popping out for the love on versus that's on
Apple at Complex Con. You know the business surrounding that shit.
You know how much money's been placed into Man, come on, man,
(12:28):
he's this businessman. At this point, all that for the
love shit is out the dough, especially on a certain level, right,
you got to pay for my presence. See that's the
problem when you let people into your business model and
they see what trill off them, what three hundred meterions
for that shit? They got to pay me to come
through that, and now I ain't doing that. They taking
that shit and doing that with it. The same what
(12:51):
you see in the workplace when you see something like
what happens at Joe Budden, you get these articles written
up that you are making this kind of money, and
then the whole cast just start being very chilled and relaxed.
Sometimes people are not driven by the success of the
ship that they're even on. Sometimes the feeling of I've
(13:12):
made it or make somebody slow down, not speed up.
See some of us got a loose screw in there
to when it say you damn you made it. You
want to speed up even more. If I can get this,
I can do this twice. If I can get this,
I can do this three times. You want to turn
it up because you're a real hustler. You win, final boss,
you final boss, you elite if you got that kind
(13:36):
of mindset. Some people to get to I made it
and turn the call I'm here now. They have a
lack of understanding of momentum in things that make you
who you are and make your ship move. Some people
to see a ship moving and that don't turn them on.
They turn the car off. We're here now, we made it.
I'm here. Yes, I made it to the lead. I
(13:58):
made it to the lead. Now, bought my people the house.
Everybody straightway. I got some money, Yes, I'm good. Shit
they benched me, no problem. Some got two hundred million
in the bank and they still run to the bench.
Upset coach, why are you benching me? I still got
game left. And see I understand how this industry, in
(14:21):
this walk and this ladder that we climb to be successful.
I understand how exhausting it is. Sometimes people end up
gaining everything they ever wanted, but by the time they
get it, they so exhausted they can't even enjoy. They've
been through so much hell to get everything they ever wanted.
By the time they get it, they can't even enjoy it.
They've dealt with betrayal alone, the way they dealt with
(14:44):
stealing alone, the way they dealt with backbiting alone, the
way they've dealt with lying alone, the way they've dealt
with so many different things along the way. By the
time they finally look up and get everything they got,
they too exhausted to even enjoy. It's a hard there's
reality that sometimes you have to trade everybody that loved
(15:05):
you at that level for the next level. Think about that,
these are people you attached to, you really love, the
four you've been with d four from the Mud. These
people know you, they know what you like, what you're into,
you know, the vice versa. It's real love there. But
to get to the next level, you gotta let them
people go. They don't understand or respect the level you won,
(15:27):
and that'll hold you from the next level because any
vibration around you that doesn't see you as the god
and king that you are. You have to remove yourself
from that situation. So I don't think Drake and Nikki
popping out should have ever been on anyone's Bengo card.
Like that's the seventh figure probably an eight figure play
for Drake to do again in conjunction with Apple, in
(15:49):
conjunction with Complex Man. Come on, you're not gonna see
Drake and Nikki likeness be utilized in a way that
these rappers are just smarten up, open the market up
at this point. But I enjoyed what I saw. I
think there's a conversation to be had about Waye not
being there, and we'll have that in just a second.
(16:10):
I want to dig into Howard's started and just a
couple of the records, just looking back at what took place,
a couple different things. As we look at these clips,
I'm not sure YouTube will be able to show these
clips or where they be flagged. I don't know, but
this entire video is available on Patreon with the clips
in there, because again this is fair use YouTube. Sometimes
(16:31):
I don't want to go through the rigam role. I
send my people to dispute certain things and others. We
don't have the time, on a capacity or a bandwidth
to worry about and go back and forth about. It's
not that serious we're doing. We're keeping our journalistic integrity
and covering this story. But as we look through these
clips of the Cash Money Versus No Limit, we will
(16:52):
come in with commentary here and there. We're dealing with
two bohemoths of businessmen and record labels in the South. Again,
I just want to I don't think I can explain
the gravity of what we're viewing right here, not even
in this moment, because this ain't all the families together,
not even in this moment. Just I'm saying what these
dudes mean to the South, and we'll wrap that back around.
(17:14):
But let's take a look at how they cranked up.
Which was the first songs they chose in the verses
after Cash Money said you know what, hey, we'll go first,
and then no lem Me came out right after pay attention.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
We just stuck with it. You know, it's been hard, Brook.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
That's what makes you strongly make your man when you
know your real hustle.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Get with a and run with it until they make
a break.
Speaker 6 (17:39):
My Jorge, I ain't going no, whether I'm like the
Michael Jordan and a rabbit, I ain't no ending with
this up.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
It work's done, side size, side size science.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Flip a corn or what I'm flipping his corn?
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Flip a corn?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Y'all won't go.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
That's get right here so we can see that.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
So what we're taking a look at is the opening
of versus. It opened this way. Man, it fresh came out.
I think that's either KLC or one of those guys
from the no limits side, and they just spoke about
flipping the corn, but cast money with the head. It took,
the took the spot.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Pair attention, Do y'all need a mic? Let's get the Yeah,
we gotta wait. We could go first, it don't matter.
We'll take it.
Speaker 7 (18:49):
Yeah, hold on, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
You.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
All ready to get this your study and.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Still so as you see cash money come right out
to four hundred degrees. This is a juvenile thing, this
kind of at this moment, I guess I'm understanding what
era they're gonna be in. And again they got hits
in all the errors, but juvenile carried them. I don't
think people understanding. That's why I can't wait to have
(19:47):
a conversation with juven and BG, that's my guy. We're
gonna have a conversation very soon. But Juvenile was a
beast man. I think it's understated and under celebrated what
Juvenile was to not only cash money to Southern artists,
the versatility, the ability to go up and work with
jay Z like Bro, It's so much we're gonna talk about.
(20:11):
But they had to run this awful Juvenile and they
come out with four hundred degrees, very monumental moment. But
I want you to see how No Limit responded and
then we'll get into a few other things.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Fine, I can do the fighting only do no might
Nigga might be SI Nigga, might be twight blang nigga
might the filing nigga for fennig.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
No more niggas telling us we all need I call
it the poors muster.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Nigga called me and classic album. Bro, that four hundred
degrees classic stamp it iconic album. And if you know Julie,
this is what he does at his shows, what that
ship man is doing where they put the effect on
the voice and say you don't want to fuck with me?
Speaker 4 (21:14):
What's that? All? Right?
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Shout out to the legend man in fresh.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
All right, that's how you over that ship up.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
That's what sir.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
All right, hold on, you're thinking the motherfucker game. What's
up all that?
Speaker 3 (22:12):
The shot? So no limit comes right out, So no
limit comes out. They come right out with no limit soldiers. Now,
at this moment, I'm gonna be honest. Hold on, let me,
(22:33):
let me get myself together. At this moment, I'm gonna
be completely honest. I'm looking, I'm like, okay, peeding them
one hundred and fifty deep. I'm talking about peeing them
come on stage one hundred and fifty deep. Everybody got
for teasing. It kind of either feel like they handing
them out backstage and or if you ain't got a fatig,
you can't get on stage. Were going uniform with this thing.
(22:56):
But for them to come right out with no limit
soldiers one hundred and fifty deep, ain't no bunch of
friendly shit either. Now, I think we got to make
sure to check the temperature in the room. Now, I
think this is the first opportunity Cash Money had. They
had an opportunity to bring everybody on stage at once
(23:17):
and get that feeling fresh out the gate. But they
kind of let Juvie go and then master p comes
out and he uses his star power and bring everybody
on stage as soon as we crank this off. And again,
I just wanted you guys to take note that I'm
saying versus as much more than just song versus song.
(23:38):
There's details, there's specifics that you must pay attention to
to pull this off. If we're being honest, we're looking
at the first opportunity cash Money had, which was because
you're working from a deficit. If you cash Money, you
already in a scenario where you're not having a little
Wayne there. You know, people think wayn't gonna be there.
You're not having Turk there. People may not cast much
(24:00):
about Turk as they do Wayne, but if y'all would
have had Wayne, it adds a different element to this
whole versus. But knowing you don't have Wayne, now we
have to take all of our star power and try
to utilize it in a way where we get the
Wayne effect. And I think pushing out with Juvie at
the beginning, if you're asking me, what's the first opportunity
(24:22):
they missed? And they allowed no limit to come right
in with everybody on stage at once dressed to like
one hundred and fifty deep, not looking like we friendly man,
we come to whoop on you boards. Pay attention on
top of that salute to the Queen Mea X. I
(24:42):
think it's understated mia X's presence amongst No Limit, but
I think after this versus you clearly saw and it
was on Front Street, I think it was on full
display that Mea X was much more important than she
gets credit for, not only for No Limit, but I
think she's even important for Southern female artists. I would
(25:04):
love to have a conversation with mia X on this
up that podcast. But mia X was one of those
women that was out there with all of those men,
spitting and holding her own from her voice to her
delivery still to this day, her vocal ability, her ability
to still get out there and wrap that song word
for word and not be out of breath. If you
(25:25):
know some of her stories and what she's been through,
I prass have been with mia X, and she's been
on several journeys for mia X is a legend. It
felt good to see Mea X come out here and
get the flowers she deserves and shine bright on a
night that was dedicated to No Limit and cash Money.
We saw some of the backlash that mia X and
(25:46):
master P went through over the last couple of months.
Good to see them bury that hatchet and come together
at least for this moment. But mia X is someone
that we honor, we love, we respect to hear this
up that podcast as well other platform and we highlight
the dynamic voices, interesting people, and mia X is a
(26:08):
queen in rep We'll get to some of the other things,
but I just wanted that to be said. Pay attention
to master P again to give some context setting. This
is master p first song in response to Juvenile coming
out by hisself doing four hundred degrees. Of course many Fresh,
he has a bit of celebrity as well, a salute
to the legend Many Fresh, but doing four hundred degrees,
(26:28):
and then master P come out on stage four hundred deep.
You see Pete, you see Mac, you see Silk. You're
gonna see all of these guys show up off the rip,
set the tone. All of our stars are here because
this is what you have to do. That's one thing
I think No Limit understands his brand a little bit
more than Baby, and I think because Baby was in
(26:48):
a scenario to have so many superstars, he kind of
lost track of being able to band together because his
celebrity beg celebrity should have used all that together and
came out at the same time, very uniform, very in
tune with each other. I think it would have worked
in their favor a little bit better. But salute to
(27:10):
both of them, but paying attention to no limit. This
is getting interesting.
Speaker 8 (27:15):
Pits kitching mine toes, please s kitching the mine r toes.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Toes.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
You know, nigga fussy nose. I'm hitting down too, shall nigga.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Showing them cloth got your hole on the store watching
niggas block it. He got you this out the hard fusing,
I'm your rocking, I got your can't sha got your
niggas and plays. I got the hole on the bradys
because your nigga, I got your piggres Gonna come thinking
my got you and cheese.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
And the cheese and rec pay with taper your higgs hard.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
And chase your diggs cutting the test. But niggas like
Potatos chat took the game running. That's the pie up
the change. Busy Dad is some mads me buck hush son,
jiggas ain't trussing. I'm a sos Cat's why niggas ain't trussing.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
No bitch, no nigga.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Oh hollo fluck see hold no truck or raggy a
hustle whip bowl Yeah, bigger.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Dnio shows Yeah, I get from them. Bros, Come on
your dogs. It's kind was this time.
Speaker 8 (28:22):
Sold just we ride kill us with it, prepare the time.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
Chickens get plus bo get fuck turkiski stuff it. Jiggas
get cut ready fum kind that my cat whipped my
hole straight whip my my kiggas ain't all that damn
oh boy, damn good straight rocket actually money but the
farage they'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
And we rout, so he's all their taking.
Speaker 7 (28:46):
Hussy.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
You don't think who's like you playing fucking what the
soldiers on the tank, because we know them.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
You showd my don jes.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
We know sho I thought of toes.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
We don't let me show my chess chose we know living.
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Let's go. Silk sheilk come out with some of the
that's my silk salute to the cub. He come out
with some of the worst rapid on the man, my
sial salute the silk my boy come out with that
off beat shit. Yes, Lord Entertainment, but again some is records.
I kind of where he came in and out. But man,
(29:38):
I'm talking about silk Man. But again, I want you
to take notice to the genius of master p Bring
all your people out, bring me a X out, bring
silk out, Break everybody out, because I start power lives
in all us together. All us together means something, especially
if I'm cash money and I ain't got Wayne there.
I just think he missed a moment right there. Come
(30:01):
out of all together, all on point shine. He post
had them big diamonds on. We're gonna get to it.
Don't pay attention though, Hold up.
Speaker 8 (30:09):
This way, job, the sold start funing, come to you
the weapon like, let's go fucking all, y'all, truck opening up, y'all.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
C Yeah we at.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
I heard that trauma, but put up the parson, not
the jumps this so I want to a soldier. I
want pel that shot.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
I thought, Oh not my mind.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
No Caten be piogity, the FASc please put together.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
You hear the crowd going out for the queen. Salute
of the Queen. Me eggs.
Speaker 9 (31:02):
Us shut the mock trust trump hands, they kill from
bread and how looks him three months here exeption family
when I STU, why my rom so ci your pluck
but you can't touch him water, don't try com p,
don't even touch the life crush it so tight, it's
more corecting bright. We're not recite absolute selfie wood.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
He has wholes and niggas and purple tract.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Behind door to clumb there, hurry up and it don't
can face you so.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Jo.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
So at this point, I'm like, all right, so far
I've only saw juve now, so I still I'm still like,
hold on, they got cash money, we got something up
to sleep, and I saw the entire No Limit. If
you're asking me how I feel after round one, it
feels like there's more energy on No Limits side because
(32:02):
there's so many people they're all in uniform that it
kind of feels more like they're speaking to the crowd,
you know. There's just things that's sticking out as it
pertains to hold on man them folks come. They ain't
coming to play, is it? And so now we go
back to a song too. So now when we're into
song too, and we're not going through all the songs
we're gonna after this song too. We're gonna go a
(32:23):
little bit ahead into the verses because I want you
guys to see what I'm thinking about. But pay attention
to song too. I think this is very important. And
then we'll get we'll come back with some commentary.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Hell y'all, y'all people sell what's that? It's our turn baby.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
There's two mistakes right there. You see how they didn't
drop it when he's a fresh as our turn baby,
they suposed to drop the song. And I know it
seems minut and it seems small, and it is small,
but when it feels like your opponent has came in
with an unexpected burst of energy, alright, no slip ups.
Everybody tighten up. Let's do it. And so they come
(33:12):
out with the Steel Fly, which is a hit record
in the South, but this is just bird Man in fresh.
This song, if you're asking me, should have came seven
or eight. A great song, but as number two, I'm
kind of I'm kind of about that. Pay attention.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
And we like my money, My.
Speaker 10 (34:02):
Money's that's so because I still cause y'all still acause
(34:25):
let's stay shine shot.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
My red cause all my money space.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
But that's so.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
So they coming out to still Flying. Now, let me
just examine what's going on over there at this point,
I see bird Man and Manny Fresh. They chose to
go with a more slow record, smash record in the South,
smash record in the culture, to be fat. Bird being
got this ship on. You know, I think he got
the NBA young Boy chain on, representing the next fast
(34:57):
than his career, his next chance to run up a
you know, the hundred bunch of shit on his wrist,
bunch of shit on his neck, you know, pinky rains
and it rains and things. You know what I'm saying.
But I do think you would have saw a different
bird Man had he not been running around on touring things,
if he had time to really get it, to get
Oh versus is coming we three weeks out. I ain't
(35:20):
really doing shit at the house, chilling, doing really nothing.
He on the road. So for people who don't know,
Birdman is on the road with young boys. So he
just popping in over here. He's finna get right back
with dude. Now make sure he good get some money
with him, you understand me. So he probably showing up
somebody else, probably dressing him somebody else, probably putting his
jewelry together, putting what he weighing together, not necessarily down
(35:42):
to the outfitl but they giving him five six things
to choose from. He probably saying, I'm aware that with
that with them, he ain't really had time to really
come out with the red mink to the flow change outfits,
big boy pendings and jewry just going off. He understand me.
It felt like he was kind of rushed to take
Cass business. And I with bird Man, he's a big
(36:04):
general in the South. We got love and respect for him.
I think he was drunk this night and said some
things that well, that was funny to me. But they
came out with this At this moment, I still think
it's a misstep. Not that had already used everyone in
the click noring. Wayne isn't gonna pop out at some point.
You really ain't having no guests, so you gotta go
(36:26):
bring it all out, pour it on the floor. This
is what we're working with, and let's get into that.
Let's figure out what songs from what era, what we're
gonna use from each one of us that has us
shining right. This brand is huge. We know if cash
money pulled from all of that catalog. It's a different conversation.
Pay attention, though, I want you to hear the third song,
(36:47):
and then we're gonna get into way. I think they
really started dropping the ball in my opinions, that sit
so here they come again with something that's kind of slow,
(37:07):
but it's a legendary beat and tone. You understand it's
still aggressive. I think you come out of the gate aggressive.
Another couple of things I want you to pay attention
to is that when bird Man and them grabbed the
mic for song number two. When Man and Fresh first
grabbed the mic, he understood what I said, which is,
oh shit, they just brought all of their star power
(37:29):
out at once. So they playing a different game than
we playing. Were playing to pop out here and that
game without Wayanne, I think that that's the wrong game plan.
We supposed to come all out. And so guess what
was the first thing he said? Oh, y'all brought y'all CEO.
I he peeped it. See this is what I'm telling you.
It's more than just song for song. It's how you
(37:52):
do it and approach. It's the illustration, it's the entire picture.
It's the entire process that plays into how this looks
on camera and how people receive it. And so I
just want you to see they come right out with hustler, baller, gangs,
the cap pillar who I beat? Come on, man, y'all
gotta hit them hard. Y'all can't be coming out And
(38:14):
I'm so fly. Even though that's a big record, it
ain't aggressive enough. These niggas got arm and fatigue on.
You know, in New Orders, everybody neigga we fighting over
his arm and fatigue. Y'all just done took the army
fatigue from us. Man, Come on, man, hot boys used
to be army fatigue like a bummer. But that's a
(38:34):
conversation for another podcast. Pay attentions.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Take a lot.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
You see how everybody on that side. You see how
everybody on that side is bouncing and moving with the
music and vibing out with the music. Cash money in them,
all the rich and shit, all them celebrities in. They
all right. So they up there saying, man, they don't
know who I am, but I'm a general. I ain't
doing all letter. I'm gonna pure just yeah, I'm part
(39:14):
of the infrastructure. You understand me. You know, they playing
that one on on No Limit side, everybody move and
look now what we're gonna want. Here's something I want
you to pay attention to. When this was overWe pay
attention to this.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Break you off something.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Yeah, this is do all the celebression. Man Saluke did who.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
In order to do that?
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
I need a.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Project again, you see them off balance. He dropped the
song before Juvenile is even ready. And again, man, this
is why I think some of these little things cost.
If you ask me for No Limit to shine brighter
than I believe they would have shined coming in. And
I know No Limit is legendary, and they got plenty
(40:06):
of songs. But as it pertains to No Limit Verse
cash money, I didn't even I'm like, yo, it's no way.
They got too much. It's too much going on. But
they mishandled this. They mishandled this bro even with this song.
Now you come back, he just hit you with Hustler
Ball the gangster cap pillar after you guys just doesn't
(40:29):
fly still fly, which is a friendly kind of record.
Now y'all come with I need a project, which is
another friendly kind of record. Jesus, after I than I
already established, I'm here to get this job done. Yeah,
I'm here to get this job. But it feels like
on their side it isn't a serious it doesn't mean
(40:52):
as much. I don't know why, but it just feels
that way, And I could be wrong again. I got
a lot of respect for both these sides. I come
up off these dudes, I got a lot of respect
for them. But I'm covering the story. Pay attention. So
we we fast forward a little bit into the verses,
a little more with deep in at this point, and
(41:12):
let's see what we get.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
It's a celen price, it's a celebration. Oh wait, ain't
my fault?
Speaker 5 (41:20):
What's up? It ain't.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
Crazy do that?
Speaker 4 (41:35):
It ain't my fun.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
Get up, it ain't.
Speaker 11 (41:45):
Hold time y'all.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
Oh wait, it ain't my fault.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
It ain't my.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
It ain't my fuck, lady, I keep it going. Let's go.
He than the silk was at my thron with that.
Speaker 11 (42:04):
He took that, he took that New Orleans second line
five minutes.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
You know what I'm talking about, kay, I think he's
slick though. You you know something about I know how
I know what you'd be doing.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
You you know what some on? Yeah, we ain't done no,
we ain't done straight it up before you jumping back.
Game mans, give one name.
Speaker 10 (42:33):
Understand New Orleans in this and y'all get y'all wars up.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
For New Auks. Y'all look good man. I love y'all.
It's a real shallow break. So what you got you
got frost y'all? Keep your walls up? Fresh? Can I
say something?
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Keep you on, walls up?
Speaker 2 (42:49):
I'm gonna fresh. Can I say something? Bro keep him up?
I started this fun ship, I started this jury.
Speaker 5 (42:58):
I'm the first thing of what damn it and their tea,
the first thing on with tattoos and they face.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
I started this stunt ship. Let's get here. Push your
once in the aird man, push.
Speaker 10 (43:14):
You know me, I don't need an introduction of ships.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
All all bus You know, even even when I look
at the songs, I still think I want to get
it is the cash money. Even though no limits surprised
me and they they maneuver through the verses in a
way that shined a lot of light on what they've done.
Let me step back for a second and deal with
(43:38):
some of the things I think stood out to me
even from bird Man's perspective. A couple of things I
also think Cash Money could have done better. And again
this is us covering the story. They could have created
time and let bird Man pop that ship. That's what
people love him for. The slick talking they That's one
thing I watched No Limit take from him. So they
(44:00):
song was over, No Limit would transition right into their music,
not even letting him get some of that smooth talking that.
But what posted to happen is an adjustment needs to
be made on Cash Money side before we drop the record.
Let Birdman pop some of his shit. Let him get
in his bag. Because even this moment right here, how
he was like, Yo, can I say something?
Speaker 5 (44:22):
Yo?
Speaker 3 (44:22):
Can I say? He gotta say that he shouldn't have
to say that. That is an attribute that bird Man
has that not many people have, in particular from a
CEO standpoint, that people believe in when he popped that
money shit, so they sposed to let Birdman give him
more room to pop that money shit. They didn't do that.
I think that was a mistake. You feel what I'm saying.
(44:45):
That's if you're asking me. I think that was a mistake.
But I also think it was calculated from No Limit
side to take that from him soon as the song gover,
don't even let him say, Yeah, that song right there
made tim bigging off that one, That one right there
took us over the tiland. You know, don't even let
him get none of that out. Soon the song go over,
drop our shit, we finish disables bird Man's ability to
(45:08):
sway the public with the with the smooth talking, and
so they took it from him. He started to say
things towards the end that was not so smooth though,
And so also I was thinking to myself, Man, look
at that Pete go through something shit like mister ice
Cream Man and and all of those type of records.
I said, I wonder can Pe and Baby do one?
(45:29):
I mean a Master Pete and Baby versus like bird
Man versus Master Pete hit for hit, whatever songs you got, whatever,
I'd undone, he gonna bring out shit like mister ice
cream Man. You know, bird Man got albums too. Now,
don't get him mistaken. Bird Man got albums now and
he got songs. But I wonder what that would look
(45:50):
like Master p versus bird Man versus. Yeah, but again, man,
I think they did a great job with versus. It
looked great, looked like some shit from WWE, even though
I think they could have done better with it, made
it a little more visible, you know, when you do
get the wide shot from it, it just kind of
I don't know what it just looks. I don't know,
(46:12):
even though I like to set up. I guess this
is a walkway. I would have loved for them to
be in the center, right here where the fans can
be much more in tune. It feels like the fans
are far back. I don't know, man, I think it
was a good event. Shout out the complex con shut
out the versus. But I'm gonna still think about it.
(46:33):
I'm gonna watch it a few more times before I
actually give a verdict on who I think one. I
do think cash Money mishandled a couple of situations, and
towards the end, Baby said a few things. I think
if we're gonna talk about performance of the night, I
think it gotta be BG's performance versus Snoop Dogg performance.
I'm about to show you BG's performance and then I'm
(46:55):
gonna show you Snoop Doggs again. If you're on YouTube,
you may not see this. I'm gonna to try to
come back with some commentary that kind of feels in
the blanks and get some colorful language, so you making
kind of understand what we're looking at. But pay attention
to BG's performance that I think if you're asking a
lot of people what's performance other night, pay attention. It's
(47:17):
a celebration.
Speaker 11 (47:19):
New Orders is a mother kids.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
He go like money pigins my thing because I'm trying
to be rich. So with me at the propping studio.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
This don't even got a back track. This is straight
home rapping, no backtrack. Now, I don't need to hear
no back talk about this here. Pay attention.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
My ship dropping rap. That's a rap, Like you said,
she have the keys picked up by the fence.
Speaker 11 (47:42):
First dropping beet, that's a preach. I flicking stuff, my boy,
it's been feeding so hot. He tain't a free will
clean flock. No figs at all, bigga because we roll
two set for their kids, off set.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Fish because I go by the name, so I ride
on crumb and that's not eight Yeah. Three, I must
a nigga. Don't put Bevid on his feet.
Speaker 11 (48:01):
Three because I know one thing I don't do the
place for feet we found the can'ts smunny is.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
The Holy nigga.
Speaker 4 (48:08):
You we try to hop me, nigga get in so clear,
he thigigga, because.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
I need to just stay up place real good. You
get w Cat Spunny is the holy nigga. Try the
herming nigga. Smuney his home nigga. You ever try that home.
Speaker 5 (48:28):
Jack.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
That's the first time I really seen a cash Money
that close over there, over there performing in the no
limit area. He went over And I ain't saying he
done that to disrespect them. It just might have been
the vibration of just why it's just how I'm feeling.
You understand me, But he definitely went over there in
the no limit area and performed cash Money is an
Army and he did it with no backtrack. That right there,
(48:52):
if you're asking me, is contestant of performance of the night.
And that's with me a X off the table. She
gets her flyers, she did the whole big one. We
already celebrated her. But performance of the night is that performance.
We just watched BG performing cash Money as an Army
in no limits area, and we'll put that again. Snoop
(49:12):
Dogg popping out for no limit and again, this is
what makes it hard to judge cash Money had no guests,
and I get it. They understand they have their own
star power. But when we talk about the verses, when
you got Snoop Dogg pop out with this kind of energy,
it's just gonna be hard for me to say you
beat him. Pay attention to this, get you if you
(49:32):
didn't get.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Jump down them up the niggas. What niggas niggas? Yeah,
y'all you wait it?
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Fuck?
Speaker 2 (50:02):
Let's kid him.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
I tell him, we getting nutty in this motherfucker. I
got my pudgyes in this motherfucker. Leave a nigga bluddy
in this buck again. Contested for performance other night by
Snoop Dogg. No backtrack and for people who have never
performed a rap song live, I need you to understand
it's like the backtrack carries you and helps you with
your breath control. Right, So if I understand my backtrack
(50:26):
is saying the last two words of each sentence, then
I can just say leave an.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
We in the cuddy. You done done too much? You
gotta instead of having to say every single word, you
understand me. And not only that, I want you to
look at Snoop Dogg's energy and we'll get to that
after this performance is over, pay attention.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
We in the cuddy. But you the gun too much.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
You gotta come in somebody, somebody just like you. Well,
where I'm from, we like to ride on for We
threw it from his show just to do it from
the tools.
Speaker 11 (51:03):
I threw my turn off on my lunely see Murdering Magic.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
Hell yeah, that my mocking homies.
Speaker 11 (51:08):
So when the shit is thick and foggy, I want
to act like they want to get with Snoop Doggie.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Let me let you know what you going through with
what's the sad fogg.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
You see they try to take that from Snoop and
Pete because they wanted to celebrate after that. Now we
coming right with back that ass up. That's one thing
they were doing. I think I don't want to see
that in versus. If I'm being honest, I want to
get to be able to get their ship off. That's
what made Versus one of the moments when Jada kids
(51:47):
pop out and say, yo, I'm talking to the real
New York and just those moments brain the vibe. I
don't want to see them cut each other off because
they're scared of how gonna celebrat and if it's gonna
sway the crowd and I ain't gonna lie. No lem
me started that because they left no room for Baby
to say anything, because they understood how powerful he is
(52:08):
as it pertains to just his verbs to our culture.
But pay attention to Snoop Dogg in this moment as
he walks off stage. The energy from Snoop Dogg was
really the mother. I ain't gonna do no capping. Snoop
Dogg didn't make his way across the stage and shake
no hands. Snoop Dogg didn't say what's up to nobody.
Snoop Dogg didn't man. He came right in, performed them.
(52:31):
Mother dropped the beat out halfway through through his middle
fingers up, said what you're going through? What you standing for,
and got off the stage. He never said what's upthing,
and he came camouflaged down. I think in our culture
we don't speak enough about the relationship between Pee and
Snoop and how Snoop has followed through. He take a
(52:53):
man to follow through, It take a little boy to
create broken promises. Snoop is always follow through with Pete
because p was there for him in a time when
he needed Pete be there for somebody, it may pay off.
You understand me, as biggest Snoop Dogg is he that's
a bag for him? The same way Wayne is negotiating
(53:17):
a bag, Drake is negotiating a bag. NICKI negotiating a bag.
Snoop has a bag on the table from versus to
do him versus someone he pops out for Pete. I'll
tell you something about this versus. A couple of things
I didn't appreciate and one thing that was undeniably clear.
Cash Money didn't have that superstar and so the superstar
(53:38):
power over on cash Money side that we know to
be one of the more dynamic voices ever to have
grabbed a microphone in Little Wayne, Dwayne Carter was not
there and his absence was felt. If you pop out
with a Little Wayne at this, it changes the conversation completely.
(53:59):
It changed just the catalog to set up what songs
you're gonna use, It changes all of that because I
understand that you don't want to come out a birdman
Cash Money and use all the Wayne songs because Wayne
is negotiating a bag. Yo, don't go up and burn
my songs up, bro, like y'all use some cash money shit,
some steal fly, some get your roll on. You know
(54:24):
what I'm saying that some of that shit that built
the label don't get up here into this shit because
all of us negotiating our own bag with versus and
so out of respect, YO, let's stay away from that.
They played one Wayne record and that was six foot
seven Without Wayne. You felt this absence in that moment
because usually when Wayne pops out and performs six foot seven,
(54:45):
the crowd goes stupid. When that six foot seven was playing,
it was just kind of like, yeah, this is one
of the ones though, And I think they missed Wayne
in a way where some of the fans are calling
for Wayne, like, yo, you should have been there. But
I understand the being in Also, I've seen what some
of these dudes on the stage. They spend a lot
of time performing to each other. Yo, you got a
(55:06):
crowd full of people. That's what I also respected about
BG's performance and snoops and really no limit every time
they face the crowd and win to it. But some
of the people don't cast money side. When they were
they would talk to each other. They just they love
each other. They happy to see each other, so they
rapping at each other instead of the crowd. Those little
things on camera, they come off away. They may not
(55:29):
come off away when you're doing your shows in these
arenas and you're just shining and doing your one two,
but they come off away when it's on camera, when
you're performing not only for an audience, but for viewing audience,
people that's watching it from the comforts of their own homes.
Let's get to the end of this, and we're gonna
(55:50):
make this just one episode because I don't even want
to broach any other topics because we're just basically breaking
down the verses. But let's get to the end of
the verses where a lot of color language from Cash
Money CEO and founder Brian Birdman Williams was left on
the table. Pay attention. I ain't gonna even lie, bro,
Like when I met Blood, you know, I was trying
(56:13):
to do something different in the game.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
I ain't started this ship young. I was a young
man trying to get some money and not be in
the streets. And I met Beiji, I met Wayne, I
met Julie, I met Turk. Shout out to Turkey. Look,
she ain't here, but we're gonna put you. We want
but you're man girl. Were gonna put that, but that's
(56:43):
another movie.
Speaker 10 (56:44):
But you know, cash money when one died, I ain't
gonna say die.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
So we lost a lot of soldiers. But cash money
ain't built on you leave you can't. We're gonna steal multiply.
Let's go. Cash money ain't gonna know die.
Speaker 4 (57:01):
Lors, I'm alive, hold on fresh away, fresh low as
I'm alive.
Speaker 2 (57:06):
Cast money gonna never die. Shout out to my NBA,
young boy. NBA ain't risking you don't like it with
all the bullshit with us. See where you at bro
say something so they know our culture. We get together.
Speaker 11 (57:27):
Looks listen, y'all listen, listen for sure.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
So after Birdban saying that Pete never even got on
the mic, I don't know. I think bird Man might
have got drunk. Man got you know what I mean,
got a little head of itself and got drunk again.
That's that tour energy. He been on tour. He ain't
he ain't no separating it. He been on tour, poppy
that kind of shit. That's what he's doing. That's the vibe,
that's the mind framed me in. You know, I know
(57:51):
that really wasn't no dish at turk. You know what
I'm saying. People catch their word in it and they
think that's disrespect, and I get it because I don't
play that word. But you know a couple of my
best friends is from New Orleans. They grew up down
there and it's just how they talk. Sometime they kicked
that kind of lingo, and so you know, I understood
there wasn't no disrespect. They was just like, you know,
(58:12):
I love you, when't with you right now. We'll get
it together at some point type thing. But you know,
Birdman is getting old. Man. You know what I'm saying,
I think it's time to separate itself from all that
We with all the bullshit talk, you understand me. Now,
we know he's gonna get it done, and we know
they gonna move on his command. You know, I kind
(58:33):
of watch how people around him move and the respect
level that they give it. He moving like a real general.
Now it's just funny to him. We with all the
bullshit on National on Apple Music, National TV. Just we
with all the bullshit shout out NBA, young boy. I
don't know, man, like, we gotta get it together. You
(58:55):
know what I'm saying you a billion dollar plate. He
wrapped up in that. Yi, energy they got unc un't
got that talking crazy they got, Hey they got aren't
wrapped up in the Why ain't energy going in? And
our d city is on tour with young boy he
done jumped on Apple Music. If he ain't with us,
he doesn't win left field. But here's something I want
(59:17):
to address before we get out of here. There was
a dramatic difference in how VERSUS handled cash Money versus
No Limit, in contrast to some of the other events
that they've put on some of the other verses, in
particular when they're dealing with legends. When we talk about
what's going on with this one, we heard many fresh
(59:38):
and others come along and say, yo, we only got
four minutes left. It's not us, it's not cash money,
it's not no limit, basically saying that it's either complex
or it's versus. It's the higher ups, it's the people
that put the event on. My question becomes one that
I think should have been answered ages ago. Why wouldn't
(59:59):
we deal with the southern district that we have to
cut short the celebration the way that you framed it
as I'm having a discomfort in understanding how we arise
to the point where we're gonna take cash money versus
no limit, which is some of the premier acts from
the South that built the foundation that a lot of
(01:00:20):
these guys get their fruit from, laid the roots to
the tree that now a lot of individuals eating and
feed their families from as it pertains to the South,
How and why did they only have a short amount
of time to do what was called a celebration for
two of the labels that we grew up on in
respect at a high level and then from the South.
I have a question of burning question that I think
(01:00:43):
someone somewhere should be able to answer. I would love
to hear that this was something that cash Money, No
Limits said or put in their contracts, that we're only
gonna do ten songs instead of the twenty like we
usually do, and we're gonna have a set amount of
time that we have to deal with in which we're
not going to be able to have a celebration in
(01:01:04):
which we've saw dipset in the locks, be able to
celebrate one another and celebrate the culture and celebrate the music.
I think we have done ourselves a disservice by taking
our Southern district and giving it such a short amount
of time with such rich history, and so I have
that question to put out there. I would hope that
(01:01:27):
someone from somewhere clarifies on and conduct some sort of statement,
interview or press release to give us an understanding. That's
why would the verses when you're dealing with the Southern District,
such a rich history that means so much to so
many people, and heip hop and rapping music, why would
we have to cut it short at ten versus ten
(01:01:49):
vert instead of doing the normal twenty versus twenty. These
are questions that hopefully will be answered by a legitimate
character who has some insight as to why this is
to get case. But those are my questions. Again, we
appreciated the verses. I think these guys done a great job.
Look forward to see what they have coming next. Hopefully
(01:02:11):
they can address the stage because it's like I think
it's I don't know. I like the big screen, I
like some of it, but the complex versus just seem,
I don't know, like an amateur kind of thing, even
though it's clearly not. I mean, it looks like the
WWE or some shit, but maybe the graphic design something
has to You got to elevate something here though something's missing.
(01:02:34):
But I hope y'all enjoyed us looking into the verses
some of my thoughts and opinions on it. I appreciate
it everybody. It is tapped in It's love you know
that for shit show. See y'all next time hit that
like hit shall let them know youse dere it's up
