(00:23):
road. Today is all about Danand Shay. They're getting ready to hit
the road on the Heartbreak on theMap tour. We will see them in
Boston at the Ted Garden really soonApril thirteenth. That's actually when they're going
to wrap up the tour. Andthey did go into detail about why they
actually chose Boston as the last stopon the tour, and I was able
(00:46):
to ask them who they're rooting forin the Super Bowl, and they also
did share with me how they wereable to reconnect and get their focus back,
and they also did share with methe struggles that they had gone through
a few years ago. So takea listen. Hello, Hello, Hello,
how are you guys? Hey,Jessica doing great? How you doing?
(01:06):
I am great. I was actuallyjust telling one of my friends the
other day, how you guys werehere during that snowstorm at that House of
Blues in Boston. That was unbelievable. I think that was maybe our last
show of our of our tour Ibelieve, which was absolutely wild And yeah,
we went to that. There waslike a bar next door that was
a long time ago. There wasa bar next door that we ended up
(01:27):
hanging out at afterwards and then wehad a blast. But yeah, that's
been what a special place. Boston'salways I mean, we always make that
that's the last stop on our arenatour this year because it's just such a
special place and has what we thinkof the best country music fans in the
country. Man, you guys areunbelievable and always show up in a huge
way. You beat me to it. I was going to say, like,
is that why you you lined usup to be the last stop.
(01:49):
That's really cool. Yeah, there'sno coincidence that we do it every single
time. Kenny Chesney, you know, even when we're opening for somebody,
he to let you know he's doingthree this time. So that's wild,
man, And you all really showup for country music up there, and
we appreciate all the support over theyears. You know, we've had,
you know, more airplay in Bostonthan anywhere else in the country, So
thank you for that. And theGarden's going to be going off Man,
(02:10):
new setlist, new show, wegot a new album, new single,
it's all fresh, so I can'twait for that one, and man,
we look forward to it. Wellright back at you. You know,
I'm a huge ambassador for you guysin Boston. Just loves Dan and Shay.
I mean, gosh, you guyshave played like pretty much every single
venue in Massachusetts. Do you remembera few years ago when you guys played
(02:31):
the Indian Ranch It was like oneo'clock in the afternoon and it was eighty
degrees. I sure do. Wehad ourselves a wild night after that.
We actually got on the bus andwent to Boston and went to the TD
Garden. Our buddy Ed Sheeran wasplaying there, and let's just say we
stayed up late with Ed that night, and then we played a NASCAR race
at eleven am the next morning atthe Bank of New Hampshire or Bank of
(02:52):
New Hampshire something NASCAR, and weweren't feeling great at eleven am when we
played that event. So it wasa good time in Boston that we'll never
forget. So if you guys haveany downtime in Boston, what is one
thing you're hoping to do? Idon't know if the family's going to tag
a on if the kids will bewith you, Shay, But what's something
you're hoping to do or even eator shop in Boston? Man? I
(03:13):
hope that the Fly the family mightbe out on that one since it's the
last show. But man, there'sso many things. I feel like kind
of a local every time we goto Boston because we've spent so much time
there. If we have a dayoff and we're anywhere close to Boston,
we're there. And I mean findinga good Irish pub is always a fun
place to hang out and get somefood. I don't know. There's so
(03:34):
many places that I that I'd liketo I'd like to see, but mainly
the TD Garden. I'm just sofired up for that show and I'm so
excited to get to see the fansand it's going to be a special time.
Man, Yes it is. AndHey, congrats on the new album
Figure Houses. And I do wantto take a moment to say I did
appreciate the short film The Drive thatyou guys released. I really did not
(03:54):
know, you know, what hadhappened with you guys the last years,
But I am so glad that youworked it out in that you're really vocal
about the issues that you guys had, the struggle that you had, and
I know that you're helping a lotof people that currently are feeling the same
way. Yeah, we got alot of incredible responses from that video.
(04:15):
You know, we felt like puttingthat out there, being vulnerable and open
with our fans. You know, there are probably a lot of other people,
you know, in marriages, orin friendships or just any kind of
relationship going through that same thing. And the thing is you just got to
you got to communicate, you've gotto be open with each other, and
you have to go out of yourway to work on your relationship, especially
in a duo. You know,a duo is like a marriage. In
a trio, there's a tiebreaker soloact, you're by yourself, and in
a duo everything is fifty to fiftyand if you're not going out of your
(04:38):
way, you'll go separate ways.Things will fall apart. And we were
at that crossroads and we made aconscious effort to fix things, and we're
closer than we've ever been. Soyeah, thank you for watching the drive.
It's that was a special turning point. In our career and in our
lives. And not only do youguys sound great, you look incredible.
Congrats on you know, the healthand everything you guys have been working on.
(04:59):
But Save Me the Trouble definitely oneof my favorites off that album.
And this is like so weird forme to say, but when I listened,
like before I even hit play, like I can hear you guys singing
that it is so good. Ohthat's amazing. Well, thank you for
saying that. That's a really specialsong and so so grateful that that was
number ten. You know, whata cool song to be our tenth number
one, and it's just been amazingto be able to now follow that up
(05:23):
with a song like Bigger Houses thatis so special to us. We're just
grateful, man, and we're gratefulfor you guys for always being there,
always playing our music. And you'rethe reason that people show up at the
TD Garden and have continued to showup over all the years of our career,
and Boston's always been one of ourbest markets ever to play and it's
because of you, guys, Sowe can't thank you enough for that.
(05:43):
And before I let you guys go, I have to ask, who are
you rooting for to win the SuperBowl? Well, my wife's from Kansas
City. Oh yes, you tellme if I didn't reach for the Chiefs.
I do think the Chiefs are goingto do it. I think the
forty nine ers are amazing. They'vegot an all our squad, and those
are the two teams that probably shouldbe in the Super But Chiefs are playing
lights out right now, so Igotta go with them. They're so great,
well, always great chatting with youguys. Congrats on everything, and
(06:06):
we're ready to see you at theGarden in April. Let's go. We'll
see you soon. Thanks for takingthe time.
