Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, come on, come on and something like this Jessica
single down letting you know what it is all about.
Can't you need j It's Gong's for nag, taking you
alone for the red, come along for the Hello, Riley,

(00:28):
how are you? I'm great? Hey. I feel like we
were just with you at the Bull Beach House on Cape.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Cod Guys, really does I want? How long ago?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
That was almost two years? Has any other radio station
ever had you sign underwear before? Or are we the
only ones both?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It was the first and last time.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I'm like, yeah that that video went a little viral
for us, But congrats on your latest number one. We're
obsessed with the worst way. We're just so happy that
we finally got a love hit from you.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, it took a lot for me to write a
love song, but it worked out. So I may have
to land to that and write a few more of them.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Please do. And I have to tell you, you know,
every time you have posted an acoustic version of one
of your hits, either from your family room or kitchen,
we are just like glued to those videos. Is that
a hint that maybe we're going to get an acoustic
album from you?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I feel like acoustic songs could very well be in
the near future.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Heck yeah, yeah, we're such fans of stripped down versions,
and I mean, you crush it when you've seen an
acoustic amy.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I've always enjoyed hearing music that way.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
So I know you're out on your damn country music
tour with Ella Lane Lee, and we luckily get to
see you next month at the MGM Music Call it funway,
what's something that we need to know about Ella Lanelee? Like,
what's impressed you so far?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Well, honestly, just being that she's that much of a
traditional country music lover. I mean I'm a little bit
older and she is, and I feel like a lot
of my influences are kind of before my time. So
for her to have grown up kind of the same
way in Alabama and love some of the same country
music that I do, I think that's one reason that
our voices mashed so well together and that people really

(02:14):
enjoy us doing songs together.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah. I haven't had the chance to see her yet,
but of course I'm such a fan of her music.
I love the traditional sounds, so I'm so ready to
see her next month with you.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, No, it's a great show. It's awesome having her
out on the road, especially when we've got two really
big songs together.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So before you called me, I did watch the video
once again for Worst Way. Great job, and are you
aware that it has fourteen million views on YouTube? Really
that's going to be like a record for all the
country artists.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Well, it's a bunch. It's been a really big song
and the video certainly did well as did really well too.
So yeah, again, I'm just going to keep writing love songs.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah. Do you ever find yourself going down on like
a TikTok rabbit hole, either like watching people cover your
music or you know, highlights from shows? Do you ever
go down that TikTok rabbit hole?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah? I love to watch, you know, after shows, I
kind of see the crowds perspective, you know, and hear
what it sounds like, and see what the stage looks
like and things like that. That's one way I never
get to see a show, So I enjoy seeing those
kind of videos. And then, you know, people covering songs
is honestly something that I really kind of stylistically try

(03:30):
to learn from. Sometimes, you know, sometimes they're really good,
sometimes they're not, But there's always just a different take
on something that you came up with. Its interesting to
see and hear.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
That's really good to know. You're You're so right. I
always like tell all of our you know, we have
a bunch of New England local artists and we air
a backyard country show. You're probably familiar. I think ninety
four nine in the Bowl in Atlanta, does that where
you like, like, you know, the homegrown artists takeover Sunday
nights and we air their music. And I love when they,
you know, do covers of you guys, And I always

(03:58):
hope you know artists you know sees that. So that's
that's good to know. I'll share that with them.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah. Yeah, I watched a video of a girl doing
harmonies on Don't Mind If I Do after I'd just
posted a video of me playing it and it was
during the verses and I called and got able to
do harmonies like she did, just because I wasn't originally
going to do it. So that was just from some
random fan posting a video.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Wow, that's so cool. Did you send them a DM
and say hey, thank you for that?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
I think I lost him, Like, I don't know where
the videos at, but if I ever find them again.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Well, so with July fourth coming up, I mean I
could probably look at your schedule. I'm not sure, but
what's like a typical July fourth, you know, cookout or plans.
What's looking like for you?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Well, I haven't had a typical one in a while.
Last year we went to London and played Hyde Park
on the fourth of July. But this year we're gonna
I've got some time off on I go down to
the beach and hang out for a few days and
hide out and get some sun and eat some seafood.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
So you sp guy, or you let me get that tan.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'm like four cannon oral.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I believe it. So what with summer here and stuff,
what's like the go to meal that you cook on
your grill?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Probably just steak. I'm a big steak. I cook a
steak about every night when I'm the home, so I'm
sure that won't change when fourth July I gets around.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
All right, So I feel like I may know the
answer to this. But rare medium or.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Well, uh, it's medium is the most I would get.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
All right? So is all right? So some quick Boston
Rundown questions for you? Finish this sentence, Tom Brady is
the goat. I knew it. Yeah, we actually we get
to celebrate with him in August. They are finally going
to unveil his statue at Julette Stadium's cool, I know,

(05:50):
I'm like, cannot wait for that. Are you going to
have a lobster roll or a Fenway Frank Hot Dog
when you're here next month?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Probably a lobster roll? Okay, a lot harder to get up,
get a lobster.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Roll down here, and I know, yeah, and they're really good,
little pricey, but wicked good. And I know you had
shared with me once. I don't know if you still
do this. He's had said that one of your go
to workouts is running up and down stadium stairs. So
will you be doing that at Fenway next month?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I guess that'd be a good place to do it,
wouldn't I think. So we'll go over there and get
a work out him.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
You can actually like walk right in from the MGM
Music Hall. You're gonna you're gonna love it. It is
honestly like ten Stars and beyond, such a clean, nice, new,
really really good venue.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Well I'm looking forward to that.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah. And so with a football season coming up, you
know we have a new head coach. Maybe you're familiar
with Mike Fraebel because he was in Nashville. Are you
happy to see him as the head coach of the Pats.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Oh, he's great and I enjoyed him when he's at Tennessee,
and I'm sure he'll do well over there. Hopefully everything
works out.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, Okay, last question will air this back when people
are driving home from your show. So what message do
you have for everyone that came out tonight to see
you and Ella Laney?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I just want to say thanks so much, whether they
came to the show tonight and we had a big
time and I always love coming to Boston. Hope we
get back soon.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
All right, Riley, thank you so much for taking the
time and we're looking forward to seeing you next month.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Thank you so much. Good talking to you.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah, I have a great day, Bye you too,
